Changpa's are semi-nomadic Tibetan people who are residents of Changtang. Changtang is one of the most remote places on Earth, disconnected and at an unpleasant plateau, 14,846ft above sea level located in the west. The main source of water is the winter snowfall on the mountains, with an icy desert where temperatures will drop to -40°C in the winter for 9 months, during these 9 months, the area cannot be accessed because of the heavy snow and thus will cut them off from the rest of the world. The Changpa tribe relies on their animals for livelihood, nourishment, and survival, for centuries they raised Changthama, a special breed of sheep that produces the softest, most luxurious, and finest Cashmere in the world. In Changpa tribe, women mainly do the milking, cooking, spinning, weaving and raising children, as well as tending the baby animals. In winter, heavy snow will cut them off from the rest of the world, they have to plan and prepare everything on a summer. Ladakhi Man He is the owner of a homestay at Gia village, the oldest village in Ladakh, about 1000 years old with a total population of 658 people and 140 houses. "Goucha” A traditional woolen robe worn by Ladakhi men made of yak wool.  The waistband (Skerag) is about two meters long and 20 cm wide that is worn by the men to tie their robes with many trinkets attached to it. This is Changthama - a special breed of goats that produce the finest and rarest Cashmere wool in the world. Interestingly, the harsh weather conditions of the remote Changthang region, and the nutritious plants located in high altitude are what is essential for producing the finest Cashmere.
