“...Did It Work?”

Requested and for my girl @hopingforkimbabi.

Changmo X Female Reader Request: The reader and Changmo have been in a long distance relationshi due to the reader’s studies and surprise visits him at a concert and he ends up finding her in the crowd and he pulls her on stage and proposes.

"I was saving this for a better date and place, but I have to do this now before you leave me again…"

You were a very determined woman. If you wanted something, you were going to work hard until you got it. You had finally got this chance, of course you were going to take it.

You met Changmo through his cousin. You were good friends with her. The two of you were childhood friends. When she introduced you to Changmo, you knew the two of you would be close. You just weren’t prepared when he asked you out after a couple of hang outs.

You ended up falling for him as he was for you. He loved your determination, personality, just everything about you. It wasn’t long before the two of you said your first I love yous.

Once you had told him that you were going to be studying abroad, he was a mix between excited and sad. Excited because this was your dream and this was going to help you get the career you wanted in the future. But sad because he knew you were leaving him for quite sometime and it was going to be awhile before the two of you get to see each other in person again. Nonetheless, he was very proud of you.

At first the thought he could handle it, but he couldn’t. He was texting, skyping, and texting you every moment he got. He would get scared when you didn’t answer immediately like you used to when you were in Korea, but it was just the time zone difference. He truly had nothing to worry about, he just missed you so much.

When you had the time, you skyped him to make him a bit less worried. When you ask why he was so worried, he only answered with ‘Because you’re so far and I really miss you.’

You felt bad for having to put him through this but the two of you made the long distance thing work unlike a lot of other couples. You made it work because the both of you always looked forward to meeting again. It was one of the only ways to get through it if you really needed him, or if he needed you.

The two of you had recently Skyped. He told you he was going to have a concert soon and how much he was disappointed you couldn’t go. You had been to several of his concerts, but since you left he was always looking for you in the crowd, but there was no use. You were in a different country, you weren’t there. Before you left, you had promised him that you were always there in spirit.

When he told you he was going to have his concert, you told him a believable excuse. "Changmo, you know I have my studies. I have so many tests and I’m bombed with homework. I don’t know when I’ll be done. And probably by the time I’m finished, they’ll put more homework on us. I’m so stressed right now." You had stated.

"Oh, well I’ll call you before and after the concert, okay?"

"Okay. I love you."

"I love you too."

You could feel his sadness and heartbreak through the phone but you had to. Even if you did lie about having tests and homework. When really, you had planned to go to the concert. You couldn’t take credit for it. It was Hyo Eun’s idea. He bought the ticket for you and helped you pay for your flight back.

You were on the plane, staring at your wallpaper which happened to be a picture of you and Changmo in Jeju. It would be only a couple of more hours before you arrived. You put in your earphones and listened to your music.

Finally you made it back. You walked into the airport and found Hyo Eun.

"There she is! The girl of the hour!"

"Hyo Eun! How are you? How have you been? I’ve missed you so much." You greeted, pulling him into a hug.

He hugged back then pulled away. "I’ve been missing you. I’ve been having to taunt Deok Kwang." He teased.

You rolled your eyes. "How long until the show?"

"A couple of more hours. The rest of the guys are getting ready for it right now. What excuse did you tell Changmo, he looked so sad?" He questioned.

You sighed. "I told him I don’t know when I’ll have time to visit him because I was bombed with homework and tests. Was he that sad?"

Hyo Eun nodded and you sighed. "But good thing you’re here. He’ll be so happy." Hyo Eun added.

"I’ve put him through a lot, haven’t I?"

"Don’t worry about it. He loves you too much to worry about it." Hyo Eun said, rubbing your hair, causing a small smile to appear on your face. He wrapped an arm around your shoulders.

"Now come on, let’s get you changed up."

"What’s wrong with what I’m wearing?" You asked.

"You haven’t seen Changmo in about five to six months, do you really think the two of you are going to talk it out over some dinner? I think he’s gonna want more."

You flicked the back of his head. "You are disgusting!"

"What?! I’m not wrong. But I have the perfect place for you to pick an outfit for tonight. Follow me!"

The two of you walked out of the airport and hopped in his car, where he drove to a nearby nice retail store.

"What is this place?" You asked.

"It’s a retail store. I have a friend who works here. We can find you something very nice in here."

The two of you hopped out of the car and walked into the retail store. As soon as the door opened, you were in awe. It was big, bright, and beautiful. You had never seen this store before. Maybe it was new, it looked new.

A girl around Hyo Eun’s age age walked up to the two of you. "Hyo Eun!"

"Mina!"

The two hugged and you tilted your head a bit.

"Y/N, this is my friend Mina. Mina this is my friend, Y/N. She’s Changmo’s girlfriend." He introduced.

"Oh, she’s really pretty."

"Thank you." You smiled.

"Mina, Y/N has been studying abroad and it’s for first day back. She’s going to our concert tonight, could I maybe leave her with you so you could find her an outfit for tonight?" He asked her.

"Of course, I’d love to get to know her. Bye Hyo Eun, come on Y/N." She said grabbing your wrist and leading you further into the store.

She let you go and walked around you, staring at your body. You stiffened.

"Relax, I’m just doing this to see if I could find anything for you." She explained.

You relax a bit but not all the way.

"You a little thick around the edges."

"Yah!" You shouted at her.

"Relax, I didn’t mean it in a bad way. I meant it in a good way." She added before walking over to a rack.

"I think I had a dress for you. It may be a little short and a bit suggestive, but I think both you and Changmo will like it." She smirked pulling out a dress.

She pulled out a Black Exotic Lace V Cut Mini Dress. "What do you think? I think this would be perfect for you and Changmo would love you in this." She added.

You walked over to her and grabbed the hanger. "I’ll try it on but I don’t know if I’ll like it. Where are the dressing room?" You asked.

She pointed to the dressing rooms and you walked over to them. You walked in one and closed the door behind you. You changed into the dress and looked in the mirror that was in there.

You checked yourself out in the mirror. The dress fit all of your just right. Though the V Cut was very deep, it still looked good on you.

"Y/N, let me see!" Mina said.

You opened the door and stepped out, allowing her to see you.

"Wow, you look amazing." She complimented.

"Thank you."

You had about around five hours until the show. Both you and Mina got to know each other and got a couple of things done. You helped her around the store since she was the only one who was still in the store.

"How did you and Changmo get together?" She asked as she began to close up the store.

"Well I’m friends with his cousin. There’s nothing really romantic about the situation, but long story short, he asked me on a date and accepted, and we’re here now."

"So you’re studying abroad?" She questioned.

"Yeah. I’ve been wanting to for a long time now. It just sucks that I couldn’t take Changmo with me." You said with a small smile.

"I haven’t seen him in five to six months. I miss him so so much." You added.

"Don’t worry, you see him tonight. And the two of you will be as happy as can be." She smiled.

She was really a ray of sunshine. You wondered how she was friends with Hyo Eun.

Finally it was time for the show. You helped Mina pick out what she was going to wear. The two of you headed out to the venue, which was some club in Gangnam. You had never been in here. Maybe it was a new club.

You and Mina walked to the entrance and walked inside. You looked around the club in awe. It was huge.

"Relax, you probably haven’t been to a club since you’ve been studying, huh?" She asked.

"No. I haven. It’s just been a while.” You added.

You looked toward the stage to see a familiar face, Changmo. You smiled upon seeing him. It had been forever since you saw him in him. . Just not often." You answered.

"We made it just in time! Come on, we probably could get to the front." Mina added, grabbing your wrist and running to the front.

"Mina! I have heels on!"

The two of you found yourselves near the front.

"If he truly loves you, he’s going to see you." Mina said with a smile.

You only rolled your eyes. He began to perform, making sure he was giving fanservice. He was performing his last song. He looked into the crowd and his laid his eyes on you. He stopped immediately, freezing on the spot.

"Babe?" He said into the mic, earning screams from fans both male and female.

You now knew he was staring at you. Your eyes locked with his.

"Is that you?" He questioned.

You only nodded at him. He reached out for your hand and pulled you on stage. He engulfed you in a hug. Which causes even more screams from the crowd.

"I missed you so much. When did you get here? I thought you had tests and homework. Did you lie to me?" He asked.

"I wanted to surprise you. It’s been forever since I’ve seen you. Did it work?"

He pulled away and smashed his lips on yours, before pulling away slightly. "What do you think? Who told you, that you could wear this in public?" He questioned looking down at your dress.

You looked down as well. "What? Do you like it?" You smirked.

"Of course I like it, I just wasn’t prepared to see you like this, tonight."

"Who is she?" A fan asked.

Changmo grabbed your hand and turned to the audience.

"Everyone, this is my girlfriend, Y/N!" He introduced before continuing, "I haven’t seen her in about six months. She’s been studying abroad and this is the first time I’ve seen her since she left. I want all of you guys to be nice to her."

You smiled at him. He looked back at you. "I thought you weren’t coming back for a couple of more months."

"Well, I’m back now. Aren’t you happy to see me?"

"Of course I am. I’m so happy that I can’t even put it into words." He answered.

"I was saving this for a better date and place, but I have to do this now before you leave me again. Y/N, you are my everything and I love you so much that I can even put it into words. From the moment we met, I knew you were going to mean so much to me." He said, before grabbing both of your hands and kneeling down on one knee.

You gasped as your eyes widened.

"Y/N, I want you to be mine forever and always. I love you so much." He said before reaching into his pocket and pulled out a velvet box and opening it to reveal a beautiful diamond ring.

"Will you marry me?"

"SAY YES!" A lot of people shouted.

"YES!" You said, in tears.

He slowly slid the ringer on your finger and stood up. You engulfed him in a tight hug as cheers and screams could be heard all around the room.

"I love you so much." You said.

"I love you too." He said, kissing the top of your head, which caused a smile to appear on your face.
