General

He had an interesting childhood. His mom and dad weren't in the picture a lot, so most of the time he stayed with his batshit Uncle or his grandparents. His grandpa died when he was young, but the memories he does have with him are very fond ones.

Him and his Uncle are super close to each other. When he was a kid, he would go dirt biking, hunting, fishing... all sorts of stuff with him. If they weren't family, they would 100% be friends. Only recently though has his Uncle found his love of cars (and hitting pedestrians).

Charlie used to be a massive smoker/stoner all throughout high school. He quit recently, but he occasionally lights up a cigarette or a blunt just to calm down after a stressful day of work.

One of the things his grandma taught him was how to crochet, and while he isn't very good at it he can crochet the hell out of granny squares.

Holds a grudge against every peanut company because peanuts killed his grandma. Straight up glares at any bag of peanuts he sees in a store or in public.

Whenever he sleeps his arms and legs kick around like a dog. Wakes up with random bruises and in the weirdest positions because of it.

Originally joined up with Smiling Friends while he was trying to stop smoking all the time. In high school, he wanted to be a semi-truck driver, but he changed his plans when he went through a massive depressive episode. He decided from then on that he wanted to help others as much as possible to improve their life, using the tips and tricks he gathered to improve his own situation.

He originally met Pim seven years ago when he first started working at Smiling Friends. This is the longest friendship he's ever held, and he secretly wishes they met sooner.

Total sleeper build. When he's standing normally and just chilling he looks like a blob of yellow fat, but when he flexes his bicep or his thigh you can really see the muscles.

Charlie is the kind of person that hates being in drama of any kind, but will gladly watch someone else's drama unfold in front of him from a distance. This man cannot mind his own business for the life of him.

Snores like a chainsaw.

He was raised religious, but now he's only catholic when it's convenient. When he's in a life or death scenario, he'll pray and ask for forgiveness, but we all saw where he went in the season one finale.

Dating Him

Dating him feels like that moment when you wake up with your partner's arms around you. The air around you is cold but you feel comfy under the covers and you juusstt want to sleep for five more minutes... He's just a super chill guy to be around, and that only multiplies when you date him.

Charlie is a portable heater. Puts an arm around you when he sees you're cold. Use his hands as a glove PLEASE he will fall in love with you again.

He wants to cook for you! He can only cook mac and cheese but he's really good at it.

Like stated previously, Charlie tends to kick and shift around the bed when he's sleeping alone, but when he's taking a nap with you he holds onto you like a monkey.

If you sit down on the couch, he lays his head on your shoulder. If you're sitting down on a chair, he leans by your side. Super affectionate but denies it at every chance. The most PDA you'll get out of him is hand holding, maybe a few smooches if he's feeling frisky.

Gets confrontational when he feels jealous. He sees a guy staring at you in public? Either hold him back or hold the camera because it's not ending pretty.

His apartment is literally so pathetic. His mattress is on the floor in the corner, the only table he has is reserved for his gaming laptop and a place for food, his microwave barely works. For the love of God please help him improve his living space.

I also read the red queen series! well, i read the first book and the 1.5 book only, but that’s a series i’m working on. manga for me.. i used to collect but i can barely read them cause for some reason, they’re super boring.

you’re in your anime phase now, which is super important, because we need to talk about chainsaw man and erased and blue period. death note is super good and you cannot be blamed for binging it.

I can absolutely see the two of you getting along, her appreciating how you still have a love for things beyond the parameters of age like toys. She can’t say much with her adoration for the Space Jam dress, but finding a solidarity in how you have that same affection for things and encouraging her to do the same with stuff from her own childhood.

As someone who’s more blunt and direct but does have a lot of compassion herself, I think Reagan would enjoy your personality and demeanor, finding solace in how you both have softer halves and have to work at the other to unlock them. She may not understand the mutism immediately but would def respect it, probably researching it too to better understand it and get to know about the multiple facets that make up you.

Reagan would love placing kisses, like little kisses, over your piercings, trailing down from your brow piercing and dotting kisses over each of them, maybe even tugging with her teeth at the ones near your lips, taking her time to kiss over your snake and angel bites, paying special attention to the dahlias as well.

Note, if you ever crocheted her a top or something she’d wear it all the time at home, probably having you make extras of the same one in case she pulls a loop accidentally or stains it — Reagan would hate to ruin all the work you put into it.

She’d also not like if you ever made things for the gang, you’re hers damnit.

I’m not sure if Reagan would vibe immediately with the animal sanctuary but I do know she’d love some of the more reclusive animals and the reptiles. It’s probably a 50/50 with cats after the one she held of Dr. Skullfinger’s. If you ever listened to her talk about her childhood and get her a snake or a turtle, or some other reptile, she’d be so excited. Reagan def struggles with displaying her gratitude accurately but would try to let you know how much it meant to her.

I can see you teaching her how to roller skate and it going well or terribly, and honestly it would take a lot of encouragement to keep her going after falling or tripping in her skates — but then again, she’s got you to help catch her, and isn’t that what it’s all about?

I made a chainsaw man oc named Parker Salt. She’s 32 years old and is on loan to Japan from America as part of a diplomatic exchange. She has the only known contract with Death and isn’t allowed to say what the specifics of the contract are, but it principally means she cannot die. If she’s cut to pieces, biggest chunk regrows. Is oddly chipper about the fact she knows this. Is unofficially assigned to Special Division 4 for the day to day devil hunting, and to try teaching the devils and fiends in the division how to behave while working with Public Safety. Ostensibly, Makima considers her a dog trainer on retainer. Which is why she gets assigned to help Aki manage both Denji and Power, under the idea that being a bit more civilized would make Power easier to manage and Denji not have to have his hand held doing paperwork in the future. Because Makima is a busy woman and doesn’t have time to walk him through his forms every time. In reality Makima plans to have Parker become a sort of parental figure to the little family she’s making for Denji, so she can pull her away without warning.

Parker also used to be a tutor back stateside and had been planning on becoming a teacher before the Gun Devil attack happened. She applies this to teaching Denji how to read more than basic kanji after realizing her new charge here is working on a wing and a prayer. Power is harder to teach if only because she’s prone to insisting she’d already known how to do a thing and then throwing a fit when she’s wrong. Neither have a great time focusing while she’s trying to teach, so she teaches them how to crochet to have something to do with their hands while she talks. Power only sticks with it to make meowy things. Denji meanwhile is processing that her response to him not instantly understanding is to go “ok let me give you stuff. for free” and then “here is how you make a warm scarf, do that while you listen and then ask questions”. Aki’s just happy she lives next door and isn’t crashing in his house.

She makes Denji and Power a cake for doing well in their language studies and Denji almost cries.

I just wanted a character to mom at Denji that Makima couldn’t actually kill, so she’ll turn up at Denji’s new apartment when he’s obtained Nayuta like “OH THANK GOD YOU’RE ALIVE!!!! .. why do you have a small chi-- oh that’s new. Tell me what hap-- oh my god, are you ok?” I haven’t read enough with Nayuta in it to know how that interaction would go, i just. want things to look up for the poor boy.

Depression and Loss

The thing about depression is that it’s constant yet sudden and that loss is expected and unexpected.

I say these things because I had the unfortunate luck of losing my grandmother today. I am severely upset by this because my grandmother and I have always been very close. Not only was she the first best friend I ever had (aside from my mother) she was like my second mom. She helped raise me and shape me into the person that I am today. She helped teach me how to read, write, do math, stand up for myself against my cousins and my uncles, she taught me to be proud of myself and my achievements. She also kept me straight when I got a little too full of myself. She gave me the love for her favorite genre of music. 

She was cursed with having many diseases and illnesses that made living her life very difficult. She was diagnosed with an affliction called neuropathy in 1995 that left her having severe nerve pain in her feet that over the years began to progress until she couldn’t stand the slightest pressure from her knee down without wanting to scream out in pain, despite having some of the highest level of painkillers that you can have. What’s odd is that this affliction normally only affected people with diabetes. I asked her once what it felt like, she said it was like someone was stabbing her with a rusty serrated knife, while simultaneously getting her legs cut off with a chainsaw and being drove over with a semi-truck. 

She also eventually developed severe arthritis in her hands to the point where doing simple tasks such as eating and writing became taxing. It made it worse because with this she became unable to do many of the things that she loved the most. Quilting, sewing, crocheting, hunting, shooting, snowmobiling, four-wheeling, and pretty much everything else. She also had a surgery go wrong to where she constantly looked pregnant for the past 10+ years. 

On October 1st, 2015 we were notified that my grandma had fallen on a patch of ice in the driveway and that she had broken her knee cap horizontally. She ended up going through nine surgeries and ended up in the ICU a couple times and we almost lost her at least twice. One of the surgeries she had was to amputate her leg. They had to do another surgery and take more. She was in and out of hospitals and long-term care facilities for over a year and a half. A doctor at the last one she was in told her that if she left she wasn’t going to last eight months. 

Last Thursday, (3/16/2017) we were up at our cabin preparing to come home because she wanted to come home. So my sister came up to help us come home. I got a call from my cousin saying that my grandpa said that we needed to take my grandma to the Emergency Room. She had very labored breathing and wasn’t responding to us or external stimuli. So we got her in my sisters truck with my sister driving me in the front and my cousin in the back to hold her up and make sure that she was still breathing. We ended up having to call an ambulance because we were that worried. We had to meet the ambulance on the road and I rode with her to the urgent care facility. 

Upon on arrival they hooked her up to all the machines and started trying to figure out what was wrong with her and figure out what they could do to help. They ended up having to fly her in on a medical plane called a Cessna. I got to ride in the front of an ambulance which was kinda cool despite the situation. It was very small and very different than a commercial flight. Luckily for me, thanks to NJROTC, I have rode in Blackhawks before which are WAY worse. We finally landed in Anchorage at Ted Stevens and took another ambulance to Providence. They admitted her to the ER and then many hours later decided to admit her to the Intensive Care Unit in the hospital. We left the hospital at 3 am on 3/17/2017. 

They determined that she had a staph pneumonia and a blood infection among many other things. She also had a critically low blood pressure and a preexisting congestive heart failure. One lung was completely full of liquid that they couldn’t remove. She was having a very hard time breathing so my family and her decided to have a breathing machine put in which would take over breathing for her so that she was getting enough oxygen in her lungs and carbon dioxide out of her lungs. We almost lost her a couple times actually there too. She has a do not resuscitate order on file and her heart stopped and then started back up on it’s own. 

At this point we began speaking about her quality of life and what she would or would not want to be kept alive like this. So they were going to put a pic line in to help start some antibiotics to try and stop her infection. They failed at getting it in her veins and at that point my grandpa decided that we needed to stop everything and pull the breathing tube and let life takes it course. They pulled the tube yesterday evening (3/23/2017) and she seemed like she was doing well and that she might recover. 

This morning around 5:30 a.m. we received a call saying that she had taken a turn for the worse and that we needed to get to the hospital now. By 6:00 a.m. we were at the hospital and pretty much just waiting for her to die. We had my whole family there in the ICU room. Both of my uncles, my mother, my grandpa, my aunt, and all of my cousins. Plus many other family members and friends that have been with us for many years.

It was touch and go for awhile. Around 12:00 my mother and I went home very quickly to let my dog out and board her so that we could be with my grandma and not worry about my dog. We got some people of my family food, and returned to the hospital and got lucky enough with front row parking. By time we got up to the ICU went to the bathroom and got back to her room, her heart rate had jumped from the normal resting rate of about 75-85 down to 20. Obviously this was not good. So it started to go back up to 50-60 and my family started trickling back in. My sister and I were sitting on this little ledge by the window and our mother was comforting us and all of a sudden goes “Call your brothers”. So my mom and a friend go to call them and most of my family have broken into tears. Then he goes “She’s gone” and I just broke. My heart was just ripped out of my chest. 

I was so sad to see her go but I was so relieved to know that she would no longer suffer. I’m not a religious person at all but I thank the Lord that he let me be there for her. I was wondering whether or not that I could be there when she decided to leave us. I’m happy, I was, I’m still in shock and not believing that she is gone. Right now I’m sitting with my mother, my grandpa, and my dog to try and make sure that we are alright. 

So I say this prayer unto the Lord;

Bring her to you so that she may not suffer any longer, may she see those who have long since passed, her father, her mother, her brothers, and all our family, friends and pets who have long ago left this earth. May we take her suffering upon us all and lift her soul into freedom. May she walk again happy and free and know that despite our pain, we will be alright and never forget and remember the best moments of our lives together. Amen.

Sit and Think is Your First Preparedness Task

Cover the basic needs first. What good is 12,000 rounds of ammo, two battle rifles, BDUs, one flashlight, and one case of MREs after the first week?

You must have a full plan to survive. Providing for just one year takes some serious dedication to reach that level. A couple of decks of cards, pens, papers, small note books, the list can go on and on and on. You have to be well rounded.

Can you skin a buck, run a trapline, drop a tree with a chainsaw, plant a garden, protect your garden, preserve your food? Do you have dogs? Do you have enough stored food for them?

How about pest control, mice traps, squirrels, rabbits, coons, ground hogs, can sure tear up a garden do you have traps for them? Think it through: Chipmunks, gophers, garden pest, and bug control. Mosquito netting is the best thing you can buy if you plan on being outdoors.

Sit down and try to put a list together for one year of supplies. You know just the basics like where are you going to get water every day. How are you going to cook? How do you heat in the winter? Have you ever tried to chop a year’s supply of wood?

Do you have children? What kind of medicine will you need for them in 1 year? What kind of non power games do you have for them to do? Does you wife sew or crochet? Do you have some supplies like that put away. A knitted wool hat or mittens sure would be nice if you didn’t have them when you left. How about washing clothes?

You did put away enough toilet paper for a year, right? You also protected this toilet paper with traps or poison so the mice and chipmunks didn’t chew it all, up right? How about feminine products for a year.

What about yeast infections? I know it’s not the most pleasant thing to talk about but a must if you are seriously planning to survive. I talked to an old timer once that grew up in the Depression and I asked him what did you use for toilet paper his words “Last year Sears and Roebuck catalog, oh and by the way I sold all my furs to them too.” What would be a good catalog today? How about some thick old city telephone books, might be a good choice to store away for back up toilet paper.

These are some thing you must consider. Walk your land, think about every tree you have, how much open space you have, how much water, wildlife, and shelter you have. A plan cannot be made until one knows what he needs!
