@x-lordofdarkness-42069-x 〢 cont from here .
For a long time, rollercoasters had felt more alive, more like people than Craig himself was, and they were much more articulate about that fact, too, but there was a language barrier between them and most others. He had always been able to hear and understand them from the time he was very small and his folks took him to his first park, but he had not taken the time to really listen to them until shortly after his hideous falling out with Tweek.
At fifteen, Craig left all of his personhood in certain places, only able to feel and exist and all of the other things that made somebody somebody if the space around him was just right. That was why he had to get out of South Park in those summers between his high school years because it hurt to not exist. Always, as the town disappeared behind him, a crushing relief bore down so hard on him that he had to turn his face away from his mother so she would not catch the gleam of tears in his eyes and feel guilty that she could not be more of a home to him.
And then, he really came into his existence at work, an organ in the body of something more whole than himself, flicking switches, making checks, ensuring the whole thing stayed operational, beating, beating, like a heart in a chest, knowing the beast wouldn’t survive without him—nor would he be able to go on thumping if he was suddenly cut out of it. And on the ride back to his shitty little motel, as the grind of chainlifts disappeared behind him, he would slow to a crawl and then stop, slipping back into dull lifelessness, locked inside the cooler of his gray mind until he could be transplanted back where he belonged the next day.
He knew it didn’t make sense, that he would sound deranged if he told it in full—that Clyde rode rollercoasters and Craig was rollercoasters. How could he really say that he viewed them as extensions of himself without somebody being sorely tempted to lock him up?
A train rumbled along the ivy green banked track above them, and when it hit the outermost point of the curve, Craig grinned and rocked back on his heels, its momentum vibrating through him from his crown of his head to his soles. It was speaking.
When Clyde grabbed his hand and set him solidly on the ground again, causing the rhythm of his heart to fall out of harmony with the scream of wheels on track, Craig was mildly disappointed to find himself more man than metal. It was the same comedown he always experienced at the gentle reminders that he had to exist in the real world, which rarely felt as substantial as the one that swallowed him whole at sixteen, the one he gleefully let digest him.
He managed a sunny smile at his friend, though, any flicker of discontent vanishing from his face in an instant because he was glad to be here with Clyde. This place was so important to who Craig was as a person now, and it thrilled him to share it with someone who mattered to him. He wanted to show everyone he even remotely gave a shit about.
He was tired of being alone.
Luckily, he already had one picked out, one he had just connected with, one he had to get on before the night ended. He squeezed Clyde’s hand and pointed with his free one to the track above them. “That one,” he said. It was a steel corkscrew coaster called The Bluff—four inversions, reached sixty miles an hour on its steepest drop—and he needed to feel its twists. He already decided that the up-and-down-only wooden Typhoon Tumble would not do for him at all.
“On the second corkscrew, you’ll know what I’m talking about.” Probably not, but whatever. Craig tugged on Clyde’s hand and started pulling him down the walk. “The Line starts over here—c’mon, c’mon.”
#ic :: ( craig )#int :: ( thread )#ver :: college ( craig )#x lordofdarkness 42069 x#//sb: why DO you like rollercoasters so much?#//craig; who used them to cope with severe depersonalization: haha idk i just think they're neat

Chainlift Works!
If Facebook or IG know that you’re into biking, you’ve probably been besieged by ads for Chainlift, a pricey little device that promises to keep your chain out of the way and KEEP YOUR HANDS CLEAN when removing your rear wheel for transportation, cleaning or installing your bike on a trainer.
I was skeptical but I hate getting my hands greasy so I decided to give it a shot. Short story is that it works. The slightly longer story is that it comes with a tag with large print that says, “I’m easy but not intuitive.” First of all, I can’t imagine how many people and products should come with that warning. Secondly - they’re right. You’re not going to figure out how to use this on your own, but after you watch the videos it’s easy and makes sense.
This tool absolutely isn’t a necessity but If you hate getting your hands greasy, or you know some one who hates it, I highly recommend this gadget.

Hydra?
I think it’s gotta be the sound of the chainlift on a rollercoaster.
Or maybe it’s the downbeat to any overture on Broadway?

Omg. I wasn't expecting to be tagged, but I'm so honored. <3
5 Things that make me happy?
I'm gonna sound really basic and I'm sorry I think I've copied a lot of people...but here it goes LOL
Rollercoasters & Theme Parks in General
What can I say? I love operating rides, I love riding them, I love researching & figuring out how & why they do what they do. I'm a massive safety enthusiast and I LOVE seeing rides in motion. I love operating them the most but I LOVE riding them. I must sound like a dumb thoosie but... I am LOL. I love every aspect, the history - the sounds of the chainlift & safety dog going CLANK CLANK CLANK, seeing my (younger) riders experience their first rollercoaster... ALL OF IT. I love every second I'm in an amusement park. Even on the worst, most busy days - there's always something so comforting about being around these beautiful structures built for amusement. <3 I probably sound so dumb rn lol
2. Cars
I'm a basic man, okay? I love my old Japanese cars. I fell in love with my first car (a 99 Subaru Legacy) and I've been madly crazy in love for older vehicles since. I love working in auto paint. I love explaining to people how auto body repair works. I love listening to my Forester's engine purr when I press the gas pedal. I love the loud, obnoxious Subaru WRX's & Civic's I see running down the road. LIL OLD MIATAS WITH FLIP UP LIGHTS STEAL MY HEART. Literally any car with flip up lights, oml.
THIS IS BASICALLY A REPEAT OF #1 BUT I AM A SIMPLETON, IM SORRY.
3. Fanfiction & Fandoms (ty DBH fandom)
I LOVE writing. I am too shy to post my stuff here but if you are interested in my GARBAGE writing - my ao3 is the same username. When I'm anxious - I write and usually feel better. Depressed? PACKAGE THEM EMOTIONS INTO A DUMB FIC & SHIP IT! I'll always feel much better once I see the amazing & sweet comments the DBH fandom leaves on my fics. I've been in a lot of fandoms throughout the years, but I am SOOOO grateful for this one. Ya'll are so sweet and I wish I wasn't so shy so I could make some friends lol. Every morning, I check my email for comments and kudos and it makes me psychically jump with joy to see people actually like my content.
4. Animals! (Mostly Dogs, but I love all animals)
Who doesn't love pets? I rescued a lil mutt named Lily and she is my ENTIRE WORLD aside from Barney (my car lmao). I LOVE HER WITH ALL OF MY HEART. She's silly, adorable... And most importantly - her favorite hobby is to sleep and cuddle. <3 Before Lily, I did not get much exercise but this dog motivates me to take 3 walks per day. :) I just love doggies in general, but I love, love, love Lily with my entire heart.
5. My Amazing Friends Online!
I admittedly don't have friends irl. SO. I'm extremely grateful for all the amazing people I have met online. <3 You guys are the absolute best. I love to hear what my friends are up to. I love to play games together. It's just a great time altogether.
-
I don't wanna bother too many people with tags... SO sorry to put you on the spot, but @woffpls - I'd love to hear 5 things that make you happy.
When you get this respond with five things that make you happy!!! Then send to the last ten people you got notifications from :)
aww i love this babe =] you're gonna get it right back cuz you're in my notifs 👀
My dog, she is such a sweetie, and although she is V V independant, she knows just when I need her and comes for a cuddle
my friends on tumblr :) seriously I look forward to talking to y'all every day. you have added so much joy and love to my life
Creating! whether that's writing or making upcycled crafts/art I just love being able to get messy and express :D
4. My fandoms/hyperfixations. Seriously I'm obsessed with tv/movies/comics/video games and the communities attached to them. its really cool to be able to exist in a time where we can all come together and scream about out blorbos and make a bunch of art/additions to the fandom to make it ours as much as it is the creators.
5. My found family. My partner, and our collection of fellow depressed, adhd/autistic queers has been crucial to not only my development but my survival <3 its been a very strange existence

Feeling excited
You know what I'm ready for??
Summer.
I've officially got my Six Flags membership (due to my home park AND water park now being owned by them) and I'm. So. Ready.
I'm ready for going shopping for a cute bikini for me to wear in public.
I'm ready for swimming at my apartments.
I'm ready for going to Frontier City with my friends. For using a pass for the first time ever so I can visit more than once. I'm ready to spend my entire day at the place I love the most. I'm ready for the cold dip and dots melting on my tongue before the Ferris Wheel. I'm ready for the Ferris wheel where I'm gripping the center in a weak attempt to keep my gondola balanced. But seeing all of the people and the lights as the sun goes down.
I'm ready to ride Steel Lasso. To swing my feet as I wait impatiently for them to start the ride. To raise my arms as we swing down from the chainlift and the wind flows past me.
I'm ready to ride the wildcat. To get to "the point of no return" as I grip my orange lapbar with anxiety and excitement at the rickety impending drop. At the rough turns that make me giggle.
I'm ready to play at the Wild West Waterworks. To be drenched in water from the little and tall slides. To feel my bare feet on concrete. And the sun just barely on my skin.
I can't wait to go on the rapids with friends and strangers. All sharing an experience of peacefulness together as we are all flung around and drenched.
I can't wait to go on all the flat rides with my friends. Making stupid jokes, talking about the surroundings, and yelling "YEE HAW" when we hear the gunshots from the cowboy shows.
I can't wait to walk through the childrens area to see the new renovations. To see the what was a sad, old area turned into a new, life filled children's dream.
I can't wait to eat a giant corndog with my friends and steal eachothers fries as we eat as quickly as we can. The quicker it settles the more things we can ride.
I can't wait for seeing Fright Fest in full swing for the first time. To see the green lake and the zombie actors dance in the street.
I can't wait for my 2nd Holiday in the Park. To see the lights strung up across the rides and decorations for Christmas.
The expensive food. The laughter of children. Hplding my friends hands platonically and romantically. To see my membership card and know that I have a home at Frontier City. That me and my friends are always welcome there.
I'm ready for the scent of my sunscreen mixed with my friends as we walk the hot streets of Frontier City in the dead sun of Oklahoma.
I can't wait for this summer. For my friends. For the experiences that I will have and the memories I'll never forget. To see the smiles on my friends faces and the thrill of the rides. The old western heritage through our town. We are Frontier City. Frontier City is us.
And I cant wait.

The Evolution of Garage Door Remote and Openers in 2017: A Must Read for Every Home Garage Owner
A lot has changed since the first garage door remote was released. The basic concept of remote controls can be traced back to World War II. Back then, having garages was unheard of and they usually park their cars in their barns or just outside. Garages were unheard of let alone automatic garage doors and remote controls! Man has never been satisfied with what he has so he has to invent more and make more improvements and the evolution of these technologies has made our lives much more convenient and comfortable.
For 2017, much more evolved garage door remotes are being produced. Some of them are advanced and there are also some that took security to a whole other level.
Here are the top garage door remotes for 2017:
At number 7 is the Genie G3T-R. It features an auto seek technology which means nearby frequencies will not interfere with its ability to open your garage and its coolest feature is that it works even in the rain!
image via houseandhome2.com
At number 6 is the Craftsman 30499. It can open your garage door from a block away so you don’t have to wait on a closed garage door. It also has a convenient loop in the top so you can put it in your keychain.
image via searspartsdirect.com
At number 5 is the BFT Mitto. This is actually a basic remote in a shape that fits naturally in your hand similar to that of a TV remote. It features a rolling code technology which simply means that the code it sends to open your garage door automatically changes from time to time for added security.
image via scotechnics.com
At number 4 is the Chamberlain KLIK1U. This is actually a universal transmitter or a universal remote, so you can use it with any garage door that features a photo-eye safety sensor making this the ideal remote for replacing lost or broken ones. With everything that’s been made in China, this is made in the good old US of A.
image via smarthome.com
At the third (3) spot is the LiftMaster 971LM. The LiftMaster is one of the most trusted brands when it comes to security in garage doors and garage door openers. This remote includes a strong clip that will hold tightly to your visor and keep it nearby when you need it. This remote is also compatible with all security systems.
image via walmart.com
On second (2) place is the Linear 308911. This remote comes in a discrete grey color that you can easily put in a cupboard or in a closet that won’t catch the eye of any intruders trying to open your garage. What’s great about this remote is that it has a very user friendly coding switch.
image via amazon.com
And the number 1 garage door opener remote for 2017 is the Sears Craftsman 139.30498. This device gives you peace of mind at night or when you travel. Because of its patented AssureLink technology, you can confirm that your garage door is properly closed or is open through a smartphone or any device with internet access. Because of its security feature, this remote is the number 1garage door remote for 2017.
image via amazon.co.uk
Those were the top garage door remotes for 2017. As we all know, garage door remotes won’t exist if the garage door itself wasn’t invented C.G. Johnson invented the first garage door opener in 1926 in Hartford City, Indiana. Back then, electric garage door openers were unpopular until the Era Meter Company of Chicago offered one after World War II where the overhead garage door could be opened via a key pad located on a post at the end of the driveway or a switch inside the garage. Since then, garage door openers have evolved so much focusing on designs, availability of parts and security as well.
Like the garage door remotes, we also have our top garage door openers for 2017:
On the 10th spot is the Genie ChainLift 800. This garage opener is compatible with any HomeLink and Car2U home automation systems. This is a reliable, affordable and solid garage door opener that is strong enough to lift a standard sectional door that also shares many of the features of the best garage door openers but lacks extras such as a keyless entry pad, included in some premium models and security extras such as having the ability to disable the remote if it gets lost. Most garage door openers have a lifting capacity of 300 pounds but this model is slightly more than average because its 1/2-horsepower garage door opener can lift up to 350 pounds. While chain-driven garage openers are fairly quiet, they tend to be noisier than most belt-drive openers.
image via samsclub.com
On the 9th spot is the Genie QuietLift 800.A belt driven garage door opener that has a 1/2-horsepower that can lift up to 350 pounds. This is much quieter than its predecessor, the Genie ChainLift 800 and it’s a good choice for homes with sectional doors. This garage door opener comes with a 3-button remote control panel that allows you to turn on the lights and lock the door from being used by the remotes. This function is helpful if you lose a remote or are going on vacation.
image via amazon.com
On the 8th spot is the Chamberlain PD612EV Power Drive. This is a chain driven garage door opener that has a 1/2-horsepower lifting capacity that can lift up to 300 pounds and has a very affordable price considering that the Chamberlain is one of the top brands for garage door openers. This garage door opener includes a MyQ connectivity that you can readily activate with a smartphone. This opener is designed around a rugged chain to be durable, so it runs slightly louder than your average belt-drive system, but it’s still relatively quiet.
image via toptenreviews.com
This Chamberlain garage door opener has a long list of safety and security features. The garage door opener system anticipates potential dangers by detecting motion and reversing the motion of the door if anything or anyone interrupts that beam. The door also automatically reverses if it makes contact with anything or anyone while closing, whether the beam is broken or not. This opener supports two 100-watt bulbs so you can have plenty of light when you get out of your car.
On the 7th spot is the Sommer 3/4 HP Direct Drive. This garage door opener carries the best warranty on the market with lifetime coverage on the motor, lift system and parts. This is an innovative, powerful, quiet garage door opener that is powered by a strong 3/4-horsepower motor that, unlike the majority of garage openers, moves along the rail with only one moving part. Although it uses a chain drive, which is traditionally noisier than most belt drives, the single moving part gives the Direct Drive an extremely low noise profile. While this is an unconventional design, the 3/4-horsepower motor is strong enough to lift doors up to 550 pounds. This includes wooden double-wide doors and standard sectionals. The included rail is tall enough for a 7- to 8-foot door, and a separate extension is available for purchase if you have a 10-foot tall door.
image via amazon.com
On the 6th spot is the Chamberlain PD762EV.With a generous warranty and smartphone compatibility, this strong, quiet door opener is a great solution for homeowners with heavy garage doors and is compatible with MyQ home automation systems. What makes this one of the best garage door openers is that its safety features, lifting capability, durability and 3/4-horsepower chain-driven opener is reliable, quiet and significantly stronger than 1/2-horsepower models. The 3/4-horsepower motor can lift doors up to 550 pounds with ease.
image via amazon.com
On the 5th spot is the Craftsman 1/2 HP Belt Drive 54915. Although this opener doesn’t support any home automation systems, the door’s Motor Vibration Isolation feature makes it run especially quiet so it is a good choice if you have a bedroom close to the garage. This opener has less power than some of the top garage door openers in our lineup, but there is a lot to like about this opener. The lifting system uses a belt instead of a chain and many consumers prefer belt garage door openers because they run cleaner and quieter than a chain, and with a belt there is no need to keep everything greased. With its Motor Vibration Isolation System design, it eliminates excess movement, which keeps it relatively quiet. This opener works best with double-wide aluminum doors or single-wide wood doors, but you would not want to use it for heftier doors as the 1/2-horsepower motor has a lifting limit of 300 pounds.
image via sears.com
On the 4th spot is the Craftsman 3/4 HP Chain Drive 54990. This chain drive opener has a 3/4-horsepower motor capable of lifting doors up to 550 pounds although this opener doesn’t work with home automation systems but it’s a strong, reliable opener with nice security and safety features that will protect you in times of emergency. Craftsman, a Sears brand, is a tool and hardware line known for its high quality, and the Craftsman 3/4-horsepower Chain Drive garage door opener is no exception. This powerful garage opener is capable of lifting doors that weigh up to 550 pounds and while chain drive openers have a bad reputation for being noisy, the chain used by this Craftsman is much smoother and quieter than other chain drive openers.
image via m.ebay.com
On the 3rd spot is the LiftMaster 8550 Elite Series. This model is part of the Elite Series from LiftMaster. While this garage door opener scrimps on such common features as a keyless entry pad and a second remote, it is a reliable, quiet unit that includes such extras as an automatic closing functionality and it has a backup battery, so you can still open your garage door during a power outage. This belt-driven garage opener runs smoothly and quietly, unlike many of the cheaper chain-drive units commonly found in existing homes and it has all the essential features and a few extras, like a timer-to-close function that will automatically close your door if you forget and the powerful 3/4-horsepower motor will lift doors of all sizes. With its many features, it’s one of the best garage door openers on the market.
image via amazon.com
On the 2nd spot is the Chamberlain Ultra Quiet. The Ultra Quiet is a safe, quiet and efficient belt-drive garage door opener with a nice feature package, good security features and plenty of power for standard-sized doors but it can only lift doors that weigh 300 pounds or less. It works efficiently and quietly so that you hardly know they are there. This garage door opener is reliable and has extras, like smartphone functionality, that makes it a great value and while this belt-drive garage door opener isn’t as powerful as the Chamberlain Premium, it has all the features you need with a 1/2-horsepower garage door opener, including an uncommon timer-to-close function that will automatically close your garage door for you if you forget.
image via chamberlain.com
And our number 1 garage door opener is the Chamberlain Premium Whisper Drive. The Chamberlain Premium Whisper Drive is a strong, reliable garage door opener and one of the best garage openers available which operates quietly and efficiently. It features a rechargeable battery that can open your garage during power outages and has a superior lifetime warranty on the motor and belt. It has a rich feature package that gives you everything you need, including a powerful motor that will lift just about any garage door and smartphone connectivity that lets you control the door remotely. It has Chamberlain’s usual solid construction that should live up to the generous warranty. It’s easily one of the best on the market.
image via amazon.com
Of all the many options out there for both garage door remotes and garage door openers, we assure you that we are only recommending you the best of the best for your home garage.
