Chan is on the fence of excited and dreading these events, because he was The First Cousin, which meant early gatherings had a lot of grownups doting on him and him playing with aunts and uncles his age... now that that's passed, Chan is on the oppsite side of the spectrum... the weird older cousin who's married and has a baby but is still considered "young and part of the kidz (spelled exactly like that bc Jisung says so)" Chan can play the adult so it's actually more fun with him around, bc he can take the kids out to the movies, or a mall run, or to go buy dinner when the family invariably stays late and the kids all groan at having to eat seconds on homemade "ancestral foods made to stuff us alive (also jisung. He gets whacked over the head for saying this too loudly tho)" Actually, Chan takes it back, he sorta loves these family gatherings. Because the night always ends with the kids all dogpiling their sleeping bags downstairs with a classic movie playing in the background (sometimes Veggietales Jonah. Sometimes Mall Cop depending on who wins the fight for the remote), and Chan is old enough to claim the inflateable mattress, Mina snuggled into his side, their little baby girl in a Greco playpen beside them fast asleep, and at least three cousins vying for space next to them. (Except Jisung. Sharing a bed with a couple? Gross.)

Minho spends every holiday with the grandparents who have taken over hosting, so he's there setting up and cleaning up and making sure the kids get to have fun without the getting in trouble part. This meant repainting the ceiling one year while everyone was sleeping. (Chan gave Jisung the scolding of a lifetime but it's only Minho who knows to go pinch Seungmin's ear. The lack of defense from Seungmin is damning enough for him to do it a second time.) Minho grew up in the country, mainly alone till his sister came along in high school, and even then he was early out of the house to college, so he's not altogether sure how to handle kids. But he loves them. He's gentle and soft-spoken with the younger ones, because he learned from his grandparents, and wild and rambunctious with the older because he had to keep up with Chan and his older college classmates.

Changbin is tired of being the butt of every joke at these things. (Definitely a tradition that Jisung had probably started and dilgently kept up. However Seungmin is the main cause of grief these days.) But somehow he ends up being everyone's go to mediator-- even and especially between siblings. Usually because his own sister Chaeryeong is the one finding out the drama and bringing these poor conflicted souls to Changbin. He doesn't mind. Someone's gotta have a straight head at these things.

Hyunjin organizes every outdoor activity. And absolutely crushes everyone else at them. Soccer, basketball, badminton-- it will invariably end in a 1v1 against his twin Yeji and the rest of the cousins picking teams. Loser gets desert last. Hyunjin had gotten used to the end of the line for kicking the ball in people's faces when he lost, but he's gotten better. He still takes the end of the line, but with a smile, and that's only after the year Chan schooled him on a footrace and gave him a handshake hug and the front of the line after. Hyunjin lets Jeongin cut him. He's cute. (Jisung is not but oh well. He holds Felix's arm and gets away with murder anyway, who is Hyunjin to stand in his way?)

Jisung-- [Felix crashes in and pushes him aside with a "He's taken over everyone else's plot, he can wait his turn at the end!"]

Ok fine, Felix is Chan's younger brother, and the teacher's pet of these gatherings. Adult upset with someone? Send Felix to rectify. Grandma withholding sweets early bc they're already crazy? Felix go bat your eyes at her. Parents put their foot down to not let them go out? Felix, pull that pout, that really fussy, pathetic one. Automatic favorite cousin, gets whatever he wants, nobody thinks anything of him. (Manipulative lil gremlin. He knows what he's doing. Chan knows, and Felix knows Chan knows, and he likes to mess with his head. Chan calls him a menace, but he can't prove anything. Minho could but why would he?)

Seungmin is the instigator of chaos. If it's too quiet he'll literally start screaming. Even and especially when he's doing something quiet like reading a book. They've come to find out that if Seungmin is quiet he's probably been pissed off by someone, and Changbin makes it a personal mission to find who did it and make them rectify things. Seungmin doesn't forgive easily. He's blocked Minho for three months after one of these, and Minho only earned his forgiveness when he drove all the way to his house with one of his cats in apology. But he still had to stand out in the rain for twenty minutes. (Seungmin's father was horrified when he found his nephew out in the rain and had let him in. Seungmin feigned ignorance. Minho didn't say anything.) The only one who gets a pass is Jeongin.

Jeongin is honestly over them all. He brings his phone games and video games and plays with Felix most of the time, sometimes with Seungmin if he isn't behaving like a brat. He used to spend most of his time hiding from Jisung and Hyunjin, because they would come and squeeze the living daylights out of him and drag him around like some novelty doll. Chan and Minho didn't do that. They were nice and calm and gave Jeongin what he wanted without him having to ask twice with doe eyes and a pout. He's also Chan's favorite babysitter for Lily because he doesn't smother her and appropriately puts her binky back in her mouth when it pops out. His mum runs a daycare at home. He's used to uncontrolled chaos. He knows he's the most mature one here.

Jisung is honestly the family wild child, and his parents absolutely take a vacation and let the rest of the family parent him during these things. He does not care. His parents suck (they do not suck, they both work full time and spend most of the gathering napping in odd corners). The time he doesn't spend pingponging between different family styles of discipline, he's actually having more fun than he has anywhere else. He's the "smart kid" who stays after school to take extra classes because he can and falls asleep during normal classes because he's bored, and both don't make for strong friendships to be built. "Baby, come here," I said with a wide grin as I looked at Yuna and Hanni. They had just entered the dance studio, dressed in their workout gear. "If they want, they can come in now. Just make sure to mention that we're currently doing a live stream," I said, and Yuna's smile widened. She nodded and went back outside. Hanni and I were now sitting side by side. Hanni looked at me in amazement.

"Oh my gosh," she said in her Australian accent. Surprised, I looked at her. "What's going on?" I asked, focusing my attention entirely on Hanni. I bent my leg as I did so. Hanni looked at the camera occasionally as she told her story. Apparently, she had recently been in Milan for a fashion show and had met various celebrities there.

A smile graced my lips as I listened to her. I had completely forgotten about the camera. It wasn't until the door opened again, and Yuna entered with all the ITZY members that I shifted my gaze away from her. I stood up immediately and greeted them all with a smile. I bowed, and Hanni followed suit.

Ryujin, my crush, smiled broadly as she looked at me. She came over to me and sat down beside me. "Feel free to sit down. We're not here to disturb. Thanks for the invitation," Ryujin said, looking at the camera and waving. "Hello, Sunny," the older one greeted as she waved to the camera.

Smiling, I looked over at Ryujin. I must admit, I was surprised that she knew the name of our fandom. But at the same time, it made me really happy. Yuna immediately sat on my lap, causing my eyes to widen. I furrowed my brow inquisitively as Yuna wrapped her arm around my neck.

"We're too many. We need to make some space here," Yuna explained, and I nodded in understanding. The comments started pouring in like crazy. I briefly glanced at the ITZY members, then smiled. "So, what exactly are you all here for?" I asked, looking at each one of them.

"Unfortunately, we can't reveal that, but I promise one thing. You won't be disappointed," Yeji replied, smiling and placing her index finger in front of her lips. The rest of them nodded in agreement, piquing my interest. I licked my lips.

"So, tell me, have you guys been up to anything interesting lately?" Chaeryeong asked curiously. Yuna began to answer, but my attention was drawn to Lia, who kept patting her lower back. I glanced at the camera briefly and then at my jacket, which I had taken off earlier. I grabbed the jacket and handed it to the blonde woman.

Lia looked at me and then at the jacket. I smiled and simply nodded at the jacket. Thankfully, the bodies of the others were in the way, and the camera couldn't capture this small interaction. Lia smiled and took the jacket. She mouthed the words 'Thank you.'

I nodded with a smile and turned my head back to the camera. My arms were around Yuna's waist while the others chatted amongst themselves. I just remained silent, enjoying their conversation. A smile remained on my face. After a while, I glanced at the clock.

Smiling, I addressed the camera, "Okay, Sunny. We have to end the live now because we need to get some work done as well." I took my phone in hand. Everyone waved goodbye. I finally ended the live and put my phone in my pocket. However, Yuna didn't seem to want to get off my lap.

I tapped my hand on her thigh to signal her to get up. Eventually, I stood up from the floor and smiled at the older women. "We should probably leave you alone now. We've already kept you all long enough," I said with a smile. Lia handed me my jacket again, which I graciously accepted.

"Do you want to practice with us?" Yeji asked, wearing a slight smile. My eyebrows almost shot up. I looked at Yuna and Hanni, who both nodded enthusiastically. I smiled and said, "Sure, we'd love to. But I'm probably the worst dancer among us, so don't judge me too harshly."

Lia laughed, "Don't worry. You can't be worse than me." She said it reassuringly, but my brow furrowed. I shook my head, deciding not to say anything more. Yeji then started connecting her phone to a speaker. She looked at the three of us. "So, we'll take this a bit more seriously, if that's okay?"

I smiled, "No problem," I replied, as Yuna and Hanni nodded beside me. Lia and Ryujin smiled kindly. Chaeryeong was the first to show us the steps a few times while the others stretched. Hanni and Yuna, perhaps because they were younger, didn't need to do this. I was already warmed up and just needed to stretch at the end. My eyes kept drifting to Ryujin as she stretched with Lia. Hanni noticed my gaze and nudged Yuna with her elbow.

Yeji clapped her hands, thankfully snapping me out of my trance. Nervously, I glanced down at the floor for a few seconds. I took a deep breath, feeling Ryujin's hand on my shoulder. My breath caught as the taller girl started to smile. "You're really cute when you get shy," she said, lightly laughing. My face flushed completely as I saw her smile.

Nervously, I swallowed and returned her smile with a small one. However, Yeji clapped her hands once more. "We shouldn't spend the whole day here," Yeji commented. The music started, and together we began to dance. Yuna, Hanni, and I stumbled at times in our movements because we didn't know the steps precisely yet, but the training was a great success.

She nodded, and my entire face lit up. I smiled broadly and asked, "So, are you going to tell me your name now?" Shortly after, she shared her name with me.

I promptly signed the poster and handed it to her. "And, are you really feeling okay? I... recognize your face. You look somehow different," she said, expressing her concern. I chuckled and replied with a broad smile, "I'm really fine, but thank you."

The fan looked at me and smiled back. I handed her the poster, which she gladly accepted. Grinning widely, I expressed my gratitude, saying, "Thank you so much for coming. It's great to see you again. I appreciate your support."

My smile faded as I noticed a male fan attempting to hold Hanni's hand. I immediately glanced at our manager, who was engrossed in his phone. He was supposed to be standing beside Hanni and looking out for her. So, I motioned for my manager to come closer.

"Please, go to Hanni. The manager isn't helping," I said seriously. My manager nodded and promptly positioned himself next to Hanni, just as I had instructed. Hanni looked from my manager to me, her expression grateful, to which I simply nodded. Then, I turned my attention to the next person in line and greeted them with a friendly smile.

"What's your name?"

Annoyed, I stared at the screen in front of me, wearing my headset as I held the controller in my hands, furiously pressing the buttons. "Aish! Seriously, what can you do, dude?" I exclaimed in frustration, taking several deep breaths. My forehead was creased as I leaned forward in my chair.

I kept my gaze fixed on the screen as I continued to play on my PlayStation. The music blared through my headphones. Rocket League was indeed a fun game. The problem was, I was very competitive, and I didn't like losing at all. I sighed once again as I watched my teammate miss the ball yet again.

"Unnie," I heard softly from behind me. I briefly glanced at Haewon and then returned my focus to the screen. "Wait, baby. I'll be done in a minute," I replied. With one hand, I pushed my headset away from one ear so I could hear the younger girl better. I heard her sigh slightly. "Unnie, you need to sleep. We have an event tomorrow... You need to be well-rested," she said as she let out a small yawn.

I waved her off, saying, "Yeah, yeah, it's all good. I... will play a few more rounds and then go to sleep," my eyes still fixed on the screen. I let out a triumphant hiss as I scored a goal. I looked at Haewon while the replay of the goal played.

"Unnie," she spoke up again. I chuckled, "Yes, Haewon. It's okay. I'll wake up early tomorrow, I promise," I said, my eyes still glued to the screen. I heard Haewon sigh once more, and she nodded before slowly leaving my room.

"Goodnight, baby," I replied as I adjusted my headset properly on my head and focused on the game once more.

With wide eyes, I glanced at the clock once again, and almost immediately, my breath caught. My mouth hung open as I hastily turned off the PlayStation. Hours had passed since Haewon had told me to go to sleep. My alarm would ring at 6 AM... in just 2 hours...

I have 1 bias for some groups but more than 1 for others.

I'm biased toward the foreign members in several cases.

I'm also biased toward the rap line in many cases.

Whether or not the group leader is among my biases, I wholeheartedly respect them, because being the leader is tough.

if we wanna talk about ryeong using the strap on ryujin, i think that despite her teasing nature and knowing that she has the upper hand, she’d be a little shy at first because she doesnt want to hurt ryujin. and also because of her nature as an omega, shes not sure how ryujins alpha would respond. she starts out incredibly slow and practically has to hold yejis hand but once she sees ryujin frantically nodding and mumbling at her to hurry up, chaeryeong reverts back to her cocky teasing self. and from then on, ryujins completely at her mercy🤭

Yes, she definitely would be shy at first since it’s completely new to her but it helps that Yeji’s there to give her tips and encourage her. I could see her being hesitant and worried that Ryujin might not like it (and honestly vice versa for Chaeryeong) but that’s goes away quick quickly once they start.

Plus, our girl is a fast learner, once she sees Ryujin settle and ask for more, she settles into her smirk and Mine starts playing in the background LOL
