AUTHOR'S NOTE: english is not my first language! very short little thing i wrote with ryujin as the main character to cheer up my soul. nothing too complicated like everything i write on the train! :)

The little house in the mountains was located in a spot that allowed the sun to come in without being stopped by trees of any kind. The large windows, moreover, had allowed to the creation of a democratic space that connected nature with the only artificial structure within a few kilometers.

“Ryujin, pass me the yellow!” “It’s finished, love”

You and Ryujin, far from the traffic of the big city once a month, took your girlfriend’s car to reach her family’s mountain house. The great fortune was that Ryujin was incredibly rich, materially and in spirit. Sometimes you stopped to observe her, while the light illuminated her face, and you were grateful for living that life with her.

“How’s my portrait coming?” Ryujin suddenly asked you. That day you had decided to make portraits of each other. You didn’t know how to paint like a professional, but you knew how to give each color an emotion.

“Do I have to be honest?” you asked. “Yes!” Ryujin peeked out from the canvas and looked at you with furrowed brows. “It's awful. I’m more of a still-life artist.” “You and those damn flowers!”

Ryujin stood up and picked up the canvas. Then he showed you what he had just finished painting. What was supposed to be a portrait, as you had agreed at the beginning, turned out to be a huge sunflower in a flowery field. It's not technically perfect, but it's packed with meaning.

“Why?” “You’re my sunflower. Then you love flowers and -” You stood up quickly and kissed her. Ryujin’s painting fell to the ground and so did yours, after being hit by the sharp sunflower.

“Your portrait came out terribly” Ryujin returned the kiss, smiling between kisses. “I can’t believe you forced me to paint a portrait while you were quietly making a flower.”

Ryujin tucked the stray lock of hair behind your ear and kissed you one last time before picking up the paintings that had fallen to the floor. After putting them back in their place, she turned towards you.

“Y/n” “Tell me,” you replied. “I'm painting my favorite flower. It’s still a portrait of you.”

if your annoyingly boring bestie didn't FORCE you into reading, you would've been binging your favorite depressing anime, NANA. but no, instead you're reading Romeo and Juliet.

yeji rolled her eyes at your childish remark, letting out a small sigh. "sometimes you can be real lazy, (yn)."

you grinned. "oh, and you can't be? actually nevermind, you're a fucking robot of course not."

she giggled at you, her eyes squinting in a way that to you, resembled a cat. but ever since you convinced her to let you dye her hair orange, she's looked more fox-like.

yeji put a bookmark in her copy to save her page: 450 out of 480. you didn't need to save your page however, why save page 30?

she turned her head towards you on the bed, and stared at you. whenever she looked at you this way, you seriously felt as if she was a robot. (but lowkey, she might be i meannn 👀)

yeji folded her arms, "if you really don't feel like reading, don't."

the way you tilted your head in confusion let her know she needed to follow up. she held her hand out signaling your to be quiet.

"i'll read it, give you a summary, and then help you write the book report. simple."

... ... ...

"REALLY YEJIIII!! I LOVE YOU SAURRR MUCH YOU'RE AMAZING!!" you shouted happily, throwing your body closer to her, giving her a warm embrace. she was caught off-guard at first, but soon warmed up to it, hugging you back.

"but remember (yn), if there's a quiz on this i'm not bailing you out."

you nodded your head, "of course not! awwh, yeji thank you!!"

she smiled, letting go of you to which you did the same. as she lifted her book up, opening it to page 450, she muttered one final thing.

"anyways, don't you have an anime to be watching?"

and with that you leapt up from the bed, rushing downstairs to her living room.

but while turning on your show, you realized two things.

yeji is the bestest bestfriend you could ask for.

aaannndd she'd probably make you pay her back somehow (but that's a problem for a later date😃!)

You were scrolling through TikTok after a long day at work. This was a part of your nightly routine. Sometimes you got some of your girlfriend who just so happened to be in Itzy. Lee Chaeryeong. This time she was interacting with a midzy, at first? You thought it was adorable she was smiling and shaking hands with her. That was until she started getting a little too touchy with Chae. You knew you shouldn't feel jealous since it was just fan service, but the way Chae smiled at her felt different. The fan was even touching her cheek and teasing her! How could you not feel jealous? This was YOUR girlfriend. You knew this came with dating an idol but you couldn't help it.

All day, you pouted over that video. When Chae finally got home from dance practice, she smiled and ran to you. "Hi baby! I missed you all day." She kissed your lips quickly and noticed your sad face. "Baby? What's wrong, my love?" She lifted your face with her hand and looked into your eyes. You didn't want to tell her. You knew it was a stupid reason to be upset with her. You sniffled a bit and quickly looked back down. "Princess, how am I going to fix this if you won't tell me?" She sat down and pulled you into her lap. "How about dinner? Anything you want! Even dessert." You shook your head no. "Chae, was that really fan service." You pouted and looked down more. "What? Baby, did a fan make you jealous? You know that's only ever fan service, and I would never ever see someone else on that way. You're the only one I have room in my heart for, and you're the only one I love." She softly placed a kiss on your forehead. She planted kisses all over your face. Even on your arms, neck, hands, anywhere she could reach. "I only love you." She placed both hands on your cheeks and looked into your eyes. "Only fan service, I promise." "But Chae! Look at how you looked at them and they were so touchy with you." You showed her the video, and she quickly started to reassure you again. "Baby, it's just fan service. From now on, I'll be more careful. No one could ever take your place. How about we get some dinner so I can show you how much I love you?" You quickly nodded, and off you went. The whole time, she held onto you and placed kisses all over your hands and face. She always knew how to make you feel better.

When you got home, she pulled you into bed and laid you on top of her. She put on your favorite movie as she ran her fingers through your hair. "I love you." She kissed your lips gently. "I love you, only you, and it'll only ever be you. I promise." She kissed you once again and left many more throughout the night. Chaeryeong always knew how to make you feel loved. You no longer felt jealous because you knew you had her heart. No one could ever take that. She was yours. "I love you, Chae." You cuddled into her and fell asleep to wake up and do it all again.
