I'm experiencing monsoon season for the firs time in India, saw some kids playing on the chaath, decided I wanted to do that went up to the chaat, slid around, almost fell off, for yelled at, and forced to sit under a blanket with the strongest adrak eliachi chai I've ever had bc I sneezed 2 times and sniffled afterwards. And maybe I feel a little sick but kuch nahi hoga

MY EXPERIENCE WITH GRIEF AND DEATH
youtube
I believe that knowing someone else's side of the story can be pretty relieving.
I had four grandparents (now three) my most favourite grandma died about seven years ago but it doesn't mean it is any easier. The day she died I knew I should cry my heart out so that everyone around me knows just how upset I am. In so-called modern, conservative families, like mine and many Indian teens nowadays, Talking about grief is not common so as soon as the rituals ended that terrible September ( F.Y.I in India these rituals last around for about 15 days) everyone started referring to her memories as happy memories only, but there is a painful memory left unsaid about and unsaid feelings can lead to harmful consequences. My story is however somewhat different from the harmful consequences part, but more or less the same. I always had my seven first cousins to talk to who felt mostly the same as me. Now on to the story.
I was around eight or nine when my grandma died it was never easy and it never did got any easy. Honestly speaking it never will get any easy for me. The date was 18th September 2015 my most important exams of the year had started and one or two exams had been completed and a whole bunch was left which were to be completed by end of the second last week of that September. My father and my maternal uncle got me home as soon the exam got finished that day and my parents never really told me the news so I was not sure that they had come to an understanding with the news. Moving on now that I look back I know they did not want me to know until it all got real. I live in different, neighbouring states as my pa's side of the family. About 300km away we rushed to depart from my house from about 11 a.m. Now we reached there at about seven in the evening. Remember I did not know what had happened yet. I reached there and it all got real. My grandma was dead. Now was the time to see how everyone else was doing. Everyone was more devastated than the other. No one really cried or my sister who was in standard seventh did not cry now I knew I had to deal with a lot of undealt emotions later on. Still pinches a nerve to write it all out. Looking back I think that It would be so good if she was here for at least some more years but on the other hand, it feels good that it happened while I was a kid. As long as I live I am never forgetting the memories I have associated with her as a child, festivals like Holi, Dussehra, and most importantly Chaath puja and enthusiasm and warrior spirit. After the completion of Chaath puja, I still go to the ghaat which is at our rooftop like an above ground swimming pool only much smaller, not movable and with a lesser height to touch the water and sing a secret song to her. It sounds so beautiful to say it out loud but it's just simply sad and awful.
Now in my family, only the eldest people do the fasting on Chaath puja and after my grandma, the responsibility to host went to my uncle and aunt which means my paternal uncle or my first cousins once removed. Due to health restrictions, my great aunt does the festival, just for your kind information.
It is the time I say how I fell about it now after about eight years of her death. Honestly speaking it is getting worse year after year but It will get better or I hope it gets better. You see everyone should know true love once in their lives and she was my as I have come to know my I remember her so much.
Now, I want to say whenever I feel lonely or sad in general I can always remember her and believe that she is out there somewhere.
Now for the newbies in the dead grandma club, it will get easier if you let it get easier do not stuff the grief away, just remember it is completely okay to feel sad or even devastated at more than two days a year. You can choose to feel that she is gone without a trace or you can choose to believe that you will reunite with her one day, however far away that reunion may be.

Exec fixes 3 goals to help win Assembly polls in 5 States
Set on winning the forthcoming Assembly polls in five States, including Uttar Pradesh (UP) and Uttarakhand, the BJP on Sunday fixed three organisational goals. These are: Party committees in all 10.40 lakh booths, appointment of ‘page pramukhs’, and a booth-level listening mechanism for the Prime Minister’s ‘Mann ki baat’ in the next six months.
The party also offered to provide “judicial justice” to each of the BJP workers affected by the post-poll violence in West Bengal.
The National Executive of the BJP, which started here at the NDMC Convention Centre amid beating of drums and singing of ‘chaath’ songs, worked on a heavy agenda of unrolling a plan to succeed in five Assembly polls after witnessing mixed results in 29 Assembly bypolls and three Lok Sabha by-elections.
The meeting, presided over by party president JP Nadda, was attended by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Union Ministers Amit Shah, Nitin Gadkari, Rajnath Singh, Nirmala Sitharaman, S Jaishankar, Piyush Goyal, Dharmendra Pradhan and Chief Ministers and Deputy-Chief Ministers of BJP-ruled States.
State presidents and several others connected online with the meeting, the first such since 2019 and post the pandemic. Party veterans like LK Advani and MM Joshi, too, attended the meet virtually.
Besides deciding to set up and consolidate all booth committees and completing the appointment of ‘panna pramukh’, particularly in the five poll-bound States, the National Executive also sought to chalk-out a working plan “to surge ahead” in States like Kerala, Andhra Pradesh and Telangana.

The morning after Holi
Tumblr media
Yeh Jawani Hain Deewani is more than just a movie, it's a heavy basket of such beautiful moments and emotions filled inside it that even if you carry it for a long time, you will not feel the weight. Somehow, this basket will always make you happy.
Naina, a geeky nerd who always held back her emotions and never let herself get out of her comfort zone explores every little Nainas inside her when she decides to go for the Manali Trip. While Bunny, the venturesome, the big packet of energy, filled with dreams of visiting the corners of the world happens to create a small place inside his heart, with memories of the trip and Naina.
The swift change in Naina's countenance when Avi said, "matlab tu jaaraha hain", her eyes gazing away towards Aditi who is reading out Bunny's letter, while Avi is still uttering something behind is when reality makes a strong comeback, the sudden realization of not being kids anymore hits everyone of them when Aditi takes a moment to process everything and after a pause says, "Bunny, tujhe jaana chahiye" and Naina, who finally let the kid inside her dance to Balam Pichkaari a while ago, had to be mature again. This was when I got to see a beautiful side of our Jhalli Aditi. Avi shattering all his plans of daaru adda with Bunny, one by one, in such few minutes and congratulating him makes my heart smile and love Avi a little more. The fearless side of Bunny is somewhat faded and the Scared side of him is intensified after the moment he just had with his friends, he confides his fears to Naina while he struggles to let the fearless side out. "Lekin mein" "Lekin tum, ....tum udna chahte ho, daudna chaathe ho, aur kya tha woh?"
I cannot help but look at Naina when she gives Bunny a little push into loving his dreams a little more, she reminds him what he is, what he wants and what bliss he seeks. Naina lets him feel his excitement and passion for his dreams. In that moment, I feel like Naina knew what Bunny's priorities more than Bunny himself and maybe that is why she held all her emotions in and didn't let it out.
Then, from "mujhe tumse kuch kehna hain" to "yahi ki subaah hogayi", so many words left unspoken. Bunny went a step ahead to his wishes while Naina a few steps farther from hers.
The wonderful part is, Naina being Naina, appreciates the little moments she had on this trip; Bunny making her laugh to the fullest, the memories she created with Avi, Adi and everyone else but most importantly, she exploring the child inside her and letting her out whenever she wants to.

The Absolute Guide to Surya Gayatri Mantra [Blessed By Lord Surya]
The Surya Gayatri Mantra or the Aditya Gayatri (Gayatri for sun) or Suriya Mantra is a powerful meditation or prayer chants dedicated to Lord Surya, the Sun God of the Hindus. The Suriya Mantra is deemed to be one of the first and the supreme mantras among the Gayatri mantras devoted to various Hindu deities.
The Surya Gayatri Mantra first emerged in the ancient Hindu sacred scriptures and hymns, the Rig Veda, written in the Vedic language during the Vedic period. The supreme mantra addresses the Sun God (Surya) and is highly regarded to be one of the oldest and the most powerful mantras in Hinduism.
Hindu devotees chant or meditate on the Aditya Gayatri Mantra to worship and glorify Lord Surya, the divine lord of the light who is also the creator of the universe and the source of all life on earth. The Sun God is considered a loving and merciful God who loves and protects everyone who devoutly prays and calls upon the solar deity.
By meditating on the Surya Gayatri Mantra, we invoke the Sun God who can ensure perfect health, vitality, happiness, wealth, success, strength, and powerfully aids in warding off destructive spirits. With the grace of the Lord Surya, we get all the beneficial characteristics of the sun and also receive protection against evil entities.
Chanting the supreme Gayatri Mantra in devotion to Lord Surya is believed to have divine healing powers and purify our minds. The Aditya Gayatri mantra helps by providing us with excellent health and strength and heals many skin and eye diseases.
If we meditate on the Suriya Mantra daily, Lord Surya is believed to bless us with immense courage, enhanced knowledge, and intellectual skills, happiness, fame, and prosperity. The Surya Gayatri Mantra benefits are many. The mantra also has the power to eliminate all the malefic energies of the planet sun in our astrological chart as the Sun rules and presides over the nine planets (Navagraha).
Who Exactly is Lord Surya?
According to Hindu mythology, Lord Surya is the son of Aditi, who belonged to a family of solar deities. Others believe that Lord Surya is the son of Aditi and Kasyapa, who was a Vedic sage. According to some myths, Lord Surya was a descendant of Dyaus (Sky), while some maintain that Surya was the son of Lord Brahma.
Lord Surya
The Rig Veda describes Lord Surya as the eye of Mitra, Varuna, Agni, Bull, and Bird. Surya is also believed to have been born since the inception of the Varaha Kalpa from the eyes of Virat Purusha.
Some proclaimed that Lord Surya is the heart and the soul of the Gayatri (for sun); Surya emerges as the Rig Veda at sunrise, Yajur Veda during the daytime and the Sama Veda at sunset. According to some myths, Lord Surya is Brahma at dawn, Vishnu during the day time and Siva at night time.
Alternative names of Lord Surya
Lord Surya has several alternative names and titles which include Savitri or Aditya, Surya Bhagwan or Surya Devata. Lord Surya’s name first appeared in the Rigveda in the supreme Gayatri Mantra recited from the Vedas as an invocation prayer devoted to the supreme deity.
Surya (sun) became the principal cosmic deity during the Vedic period and was known as Aditya. Lord Surya embodies all of the Adityas. Surya is also known as Savitri in the Vedic texts.
Lord Surya is also known as Vivasvat (the brilliant), Savitr (the nourisher), Bhaskara (the light-maker), Dinakara (the day-maker), Lokacaksuh (the eye of the world), Graharaja (the king of the planets), and Sahasra-Kirana (1,000 rays). The Sun also has names like Pratyaksha Devata (God who is visible to naked eyes), Ravi, Dinkar, Bhaskar, etc.
Image of Lord Surya
Lord Surya is usually pictured sitting on a golden chariot riding across the sky and fighting the demon of darkness, drawn by seven horses and driven by Aruna (Brother of Garuda), who personifies Dawn.
In some forms, the Sun God is portrayed riding on a chariot drawn by a single horse with seven heads. Lord Surya is also depicted riding a horse and holding a big sword to show the image of the deity fighting off the evil demons each day.
Lord Surya often appears with one head wearing a jewelled crown and with four arms. In one hand, the Hindu Sun God holds a lotus flower, on the one hand, a spinning wheel or swastika (solar symbol) and a conch shell on the other.
Lord Surya as a significant God in Hinduism
Lord Surya is an important God and is referred to as the Sun (Surya) by the Hindus. The Hindus consider Lord Surya as the creator and the life-giving planet in the universe. Surya is believed to be the centre and the chief solar deity among the Navagraha (nine planets) and an essential element in Hindu astrology. The Hindu sun god rules and controls the influence of the zodiac system and removes all the malefic influences in a horoscope.
There are various Hindu festivals dedicated to Lord Surya such as Pongal, Chaath, Samba Dashami, Ratha Saptami, etc. These festivals in devotion to the Sun God are still celebrated today in some parts of India and Nepal. Many temples and shrines in India are built to celebrate the Lord of the Sun, the famous one being the Konarak Temple in Orissa.
