In Alia Via - Blurb
âIn Alia Viaâ means âlife in a different wayâ in Latin (as far as I know. I donât speak Latin, so you can thank Google Translate for that). Iâve called it that because itâs the lives of the Marvel and Harry Potter characters and cast, but slightly differently than how we all know them to be. Youâll see. Next, Iâll introduce my original characters, and then weâll get into the chapters.
In Alia Via Masterlist
Enjoy,
Shannon :)

the murder at evergreen university
a/n: asdfghjkl I have been writing this since january...... wow. it's never taken me that long to write a story before... also I made a quick student bio about the majority of the people in this story, so if you wanna start off by looking at that, then here is the link âĄ
summary:Â Â just a slutty murder mystery
warnings:Â reader x various CEvans characters (Ransom Drysdale, Curtis Everett, Ari Levinson, Steve Rogers, Frank Adler, Jake Jensen, Lloyd Hansen), DARK content, noncon, smut, violence, university AU, murder mystery, detective!Ari, family friend!Ari, mma!Curtis (I just couldn't resist), surely extremely inaccurate on all levels (the college stuff, the investigation, everything, but this is just for fun so it's okay. lol I got the frat name from fantasynamegenerators.com hehe), polyamory, kissing, alcohol consumption, crying, drugging, murder, somno, daddy kink, dirty talk, choking, penetrative sex, size kink, vomiting, flashback sequences are written in all cursive
word count:Â 11.100
âź gentle reminder that feedback, but especially reblogs are the way you support writers on here â˝

Walking up the steps of the Kappa Zeta Nu building, you pulled your humming ear pods out of your ears and popped them in the jacket pocket where your phone rested. If it hadnât been for the big Greek letters above and its proximity to the college, the fraternity house could almost fool someone into thinking it was just any other regular suburban home.Â
Giving the front door a rhythmic knock, it quickly swung open to reveal a scruffy-looking mathematics major, still groggy from sleep.Â
âMorning Frank,â you couldnât help but notice the spark in his eye that your presence generated.Â
âAngel,â your nickname sounded so good on his sleepy lips, making you smile as he gave you a quick glance up and down, âhow do you look like that this early in the morning?âÂ
Walking past him, further into the house, you chuckled, â8:30 is not that early.â
âUm, on a Saturday it is.âÂ
Thanks to the open floor plan, you quickly caught sight of Jake sitting by the kitchen island, scarfing down a bowl of cereal.Â
âHey!â the blonde smiled, mouth still full of his breakfast, âIâm guessing by the gorgeous look on your face that you made it through last night?â
âYep,â you exhaled, thinking back on the major cram session you had to power through in order to meet the paperâs deadline. The lengthy assignment for your cognitive psychology class had been so extensive that it probably hadnât been that smart of you to keep procrastinating it the way that you had, but somehow you got it done, âturned it in just in time.âÂ
âAtta girl,â the computer whiz reached over the counter to give you a high five, âI knew you could do it!â
âSpeaking of yesterday,â yours and Jakeâs fingers lingered a moment before parting ways, âhowâs our boy doing? Did he make it through last night?â
Appearing behind you, still sweaty and panting from his morning run, Steve answered your question, evidently catching the tail end of the conversation just as he came in through the door, âCurtis is doing just fine,â he leaned against one of the counters, catching his breath, âbetter than fine actually, he won.âÂ
âHe did?â a bright smile bloomed on your face, âman, I wish I could have been thereâŚâ you were usually so strict about being there for important things, such as Curtisâ occasional MMA fights, but because of your procrastinated schoolwork, you hadnât been able to tag along. âItâs all Lloydâs fault, you know. He did the whole oh yeah, we can have a little study date, get that paper done, no sweat, and then distracted me, leaving me with all of the work to get through yesterday.â Â
âYou wanna turn the faucets on down here, give his shower an icy turn as revenge?â Jake suggested, fiddling with his spoon playfully.Â
âNah, Iâll just give him the cold shoulder for a bit,â you settled your forearms against the countertop, unintentionally giving the guys a better view down your top, âhe hates it when I ignore him.â
âHe sure does,â Jakes drawled, nearly dropping his utensil into the milky bowl as he unabashedly stared down your cleavage.Â
Biting your bottom lip a second, you returned to the matter at hand, âis he up yet?â
âCurtis?â Steve clarified, opening the fridge and plucking out a cold bottle of water.Â
âYeah.â
âNope,â Frank shook his head behind you, âheâs still sleeping.â
Only pushing yourself halfway up, you asked âcan I go see him?â slightly taking the others by surprise.Â
âWhen have you even needed permission to go barge into his room?â Frank questioned.
âI donât knowâŚâ you muttered, glancing down at the speckled pattern of the counter's surface, âmaybe heâs got company or somethingâŚâ
âAngel,â Steve leaned over the opposite side of the table, craning his neck so that he could catch your timid eyes, âhe is not gonna go pick up some random girl just because you miss one of his fights.â
Bowing your head, you opted not to answer, instead just attempted to shake the doubt off you entirely.Â
In a bouncy rocking motion, you straitened back up and moved towards the stairs, two of the guys tagging along as they too needed to head upstairs.Â
âSo,â you glanced over your shoulder at Frank and Steve, âhowâs Ransom settling in?â
âThe new guy?â Steve spoke, âfine, I think. I donât know, I donât speak trust fund kid, so how would I know.â
âI donât think heâs that bad⌠Shouldnât we at least try to include him in our little group? It just seems kinda mean not to since weâre so tight and you all live with him,â reaching the top of the stairs, you heard, from the bathroom directly in front of you, the trickling clues of Lloydâs luxurious shower, and briefly glanced down at the far end of the hall where the new guyâs closed door was, his vast room mirroring Steveâs at the opposite side, though his was much more secluded from the rest, being closed in by the injection of both the broad staircase and the bathroom before the cluster of rooms came. âLike you said, you donât know him yet, he might be super sweet and just takes a bit of time to warm up to people.â
âMaybe,â was all Frank cagily, not giving it any more thought.Â
Coming to a stop in front of Curtisâ door, you slowly creaked it open, revealing the sleeping display of a bruised buzzcut, still lightly snoring on his back.
âJesus christ,â you breathed and leaned your shoulder against the doorframe, taking in the beaten form of your friend, âyou sure he won?â you asked the men still lingering a second longer, peeking over your shoulder into the room.
âYeah, you donât wanna see the other guy,â Frank gave your behind a quick tap before ducking into his own room.Â
Turning your head to look at Steve, himself leisurely making his way down towards the room at the end of the hall, âyou sure heâs fine?âÂ
Stopping in his step, he offered you an earnest glance, âheâs fine, Y/n. Go wake him up.â
After shutting the door behind you, you peeled off your jacket and let it drop down onto the desk chair you passed on your way towards the small mattress. Kicking off your shoes, you climbed the twin bed, kneeling beside your resting friend.
âWake up,â you sang, dipping your smile down low to rouse Curtis. Receiving a less than lively reaction, only getting a soft inhale of breath as an indication that heâd woken, you tried again, swinging one of your legs over his form to straddle his hips, âhey, tough guy,â you felt his palms slide up the curve of your ass and come to rest around your waist, âyou alive?â
Just barely fluttering his bruised eyelids open, a bright smile bloomed on his lips, âhi angel,â he sighed contently at your presence, blinking up at your softly illuminated form as the gentle morning light streamed in through his open window, the family of birds living in the tree just outside aiding in the gentle ambience.Â
âA little birdy told me that you won last night,â you let your upper body sink down against his, resting your chin on top of your folded palms, right underneath his chin.
âI did,â you saw as the sting of his various injuries woke him up even further, âalthough I still would have preferred if my good luck charm had been there instead of doing boring homework.âÂ
âOh, please donât make me feel any worse,â you hid your face in his chest, âI already feel like I have too much making up to do.â
âOh yeah?â he picked your head up for you to see the sly smirk now adorning his face, âwhat did you have in mind?â
âI donât know,â you spoke shyly, feeling your cheeks flush as the position the two of you had found yourself in dawned on you, âI just really wanted to have been there,â and you sat back up, wary of where you placed your hands for support on his beaten frame.Â
âAh,â he waved a reassuring hand, âyouâll be at the next one.â
âOh, I will,â you grinned promisingly, scooting down to the foot of the bed as you watched him sit up, the duvet falling off his body to relieve the rest of the colourful aftermath, âa simple assignment wonât be able to stop me,â your enthusiasm made him smile through the wince he let out as he got up off the mattress.
Tailing after Curtis as he moved out into the hall and made his way down towards the lavatory, you suggested as you followed him into the bathroom, âwe should totally do something to celebrate your win! Itâs the weekend, we should do something fun!â
Standing by one of the sinks, Lloyd, fresh out of the shower, didnât take his eyes off his hair in the reflection as you sauntered in. As Curtis grabbed his toothbrush, he leaned down and whispered cheekily in your ear, âI know a way we can celebrate, just the two of us,â flashing you a glance that caused your breath to get caught in your throat.Â
Cutting off your flustered giggle, Lloyd spoke, âthereâs supposed to be a party tonight down on the other side of campus. Me and a few of the others were talking about going.âÂ
âOh, the one Delta Phi is throwing? Natâs going to that! Said something this morning about meeting the guy sheâs been seeing there.â
âWhat-, guy?â Lloyd finally ripped his eyes away from the mirror, âwhat happened to that yoga chick?â
âI donât know, I think she was moving a little bit too fast for Natashaâs speed,â you spoke of your commitment-phobe of a roommate. Saddling up beside the fighter now brushing his teeth, you said, âso, what do you say?â bumping your hip gently against his as you saw him look back at you in the mirror, âit could be fun.â
Pretending to ponder the proposal, Curtis answered, âif you put on a pretty little dress, then I might be convinced to go,â the foaming toothpaste lightly murmuring his flirting.
ââŚItâs always the innocent-looking ones youâve gotta look out for,â Ransom spoke over the loud, bassy music to the moustachioed man next to him on the couch, âand this little charade youâve all got going on must be a hell of a good time,â he elbowed him suggestively, though didnât conjure the desired reaction from him, âoh, come on, you can tell me, dude. Just help a brother out with a few details.â
âI wouldnât know,â Lloyd shrugged with a smirk and took a sip of his beer.Â
âWhat do you mean?â
Huffing out a soft sigh, he answered, âsheâs an amazing girl, donât get me wrong, but she just has a few rules.â
âWhat, like some bdsm kinda rules?â Ransomâs eyebrows wiggled excitedly.Â
âNo, man,â he tried not to chuckle at the yearned-for images his inappropriate guess provoked, âback when we met her she-⌠her heart was fucking broken and there wasnât a lot of stuff that she wanted to do anymore, that she felt comfortable with, but over time, I guess when she started getting over whomever that fucker was, she began to relax and let us in.â
âSo, youâre really saying you havenât hit that yet?â the prying man furrowed his brows, unmoved by the sob story.Â
âNone of us have.â
âThen are those stories about you banging her last week just rumours?â
âNo, no, well not exactly, we did have fun, trust me,â he chuckled, poking his cheek playfully with his tongue, âbut I didnât exactly bang her.â
âSo, let me get this right, youâre all mad for her and she hasnât given out? To any of you? What, is she still a virgin or something? Waiting for marriage?â
âI donât think so,â Llyod thought for a moment, âbut it kinda wouldnât surprise me either if she was⌠I donât know⌠itâs kinda complicated, but damn if she isnât worth it.â
Letting out a low exhale, he shook his head, âI donât know how you stand it, dude. If she was mine, she wouldnât be able to walk. Hell, how do you even share someone like her?âÂ
âWell, I donât know if sheâs mine per se, we all just have fun, you know? Why not share?â
âHey,â your chipper voice interrupted their lewd convocation as you finally caught sight of them on the dark leather couch in the corner of the party, âthere you are,â and immediately grabbed each of their hands in yours, âcome on,â you leaned your weight back, ushering them to get up, âweâre doing shots in the kitchen!â
âSeriously, Barnes? Watch where youâre going!â Ransom exclaimed as the host of the party had rowdily bumped into the rich boy on his way through the narrow kitchen, causing the bright pink shot in his hand to spill all down the front of his white sweater, âthis is cashmere, dude!â he yelled after Buckyâs quickly disappearing form, clearly not haven noticed the interaction himself over the deafening music and his drunken haze.
âOh my god,â you gasped, noticing the huge stain now blooming on the man beside you, âare you okay?â the sharp alcohol still stung in your throat causing your words to come out ragged.Â
âYeah, Iâm fine,â he stared down at himself, then over his shoulder in contemplation of whether or not he should run after the guy in pursuit of revenge, âthis sweater however is not.â
As your eyes washed over the ivory knit, watching it soak up the colourful cocktail, you thought out loud as an idea struck you, âwell, maybeâŚâ and acted quickly, grabbing the manâs hand, âcome with me,â you yanked him past the rest of your jovial friends and down the hallway towards the small bathroom.
Catching on to where your head was at, Ransom spoke after crossing the threshold, âY/n, this is very sweet, but I donât know if it will work.â
âJust shut up and take it off,â you held out your hand, too blind by your inebriated problem-solving instincts to consider any other outcome.
Gazing back at you a moment, he then chuckled and tugged the sweater over his head with one hand, your eyes widening as he placed the item in your waiting palm, it haven apparently been the only layer he had on.
âThank you,â you breathed, dumbfounded for a second as you stared at his bare chest, briefly admiring his toned form before shaking it off and spinning around to turn on the sink. Holding the stained material against the slowly trickling cold water, you pressed and pinched the spot gently in an effort to not agitate the delicate fibres. âI swear, Iâm always the worst at spilling stuff on myself, Iâm like a child, plus the fact that Iâm a knitter, so not to promise anything, but Iâd say youâre in pretty good hands.â
He didnât say anything, simply settled in beside you, leaning against the edge of the sink as he watched your face contort in adorable concentration.Â
âOh, dammitâŚâ you gave up after a few minutes of gentle scrubbing. Turning the faucet off, you held the sweater up and looked at the, although lighter, still very much visible pink stain, âwell at least itâs a little bit better than before,â you tried, flashing the half-naked man an apologetic look, âmaybe if I soak it a bit itâll get better, but-â
âHey,â Ransom placed his fingers atop yours still clutching the wool, âitâs fine,â he lowered your hands as he leaned in and closed the gap between you two, his alcoholic breath fanning across your flush cheeks as he uttered a quiet, âthank you,â before unexpectedly pressing a greedy kiss against your lips.Â
Feeling his grip tug the sweater out of your hands, you instinctively pressed your palms against his chest for support as the whole move had made your intoxicated body lose its balance. His lips were soft, but his kisses were hungry, determinedly letting it build far faster than you were ready for.
You let out a soft giggle of surprise as he suddenly scooped you up and planted you on the edge of the sink, nestling himself in between your parted thighs, your short dress haven ridden up from the movement.
âSo, is this why they all call you angel?â he asked as his heated pecks fluttered down your neck, âbecause you swoop in and save the day?â
âI donât know if I do thatâŚâ you breathed timidly, the reality of what he was doing just catching up to you now.Â
âOh, but you do. You saved mine,â he smirked, âyouâre my hero,â you felt the tickle of his fingers as they snuck further up under your dress, âhowever can I repay you?âÂ
âI, um,â you giggled nervously, catching his wrists before they could get any further, pressing your lips against his in an effort to soften the blow as you thought of a gentle way to let him down, âI think that kiss by itself was a pretty good thank you,â you hopped down from the sink even though he made no effort in providing you room to do so.
Enclosing his arms around you as you giggly stumbled further towards the still-ajar door, he uttered, pressing the obvious tent in his pants up against your softness, âbut why stop there? I can do a lot better than that if you just give me five more minutes,â but the door conveniently swung open a bit more just as two familiar figures passed it.
âAngel!â Jake, completely blind to the man still clawing at you to stay inside the bathroom, hooked an arm around your waist and yanked you along as he and Frank jovially strolled past, âthere you are! Itâs almost 11 o'clock, please donât tell me that youâre bailing on Curtis and truly dooming him to lose to us.â
âI think Curtis would lose to you two in beer pong whether I am on his team or not,â you smiled, thankful of their timing, âyou guys are the reigning champions after all.â
âDamn right,â Frank roared, excitedly lifting his fist, âJ and F! F and J! Ainât nothing this duo canât accomplish.â
âWell, not everything,â you giggled, hooking your arms around their forms as they strolled on either side of you, their arms draped over you in return, âfor instance, youâre both terrible cooks.â
âShut up, angel,â Jake said playfully, âweâre unstoppable and you know it,â he stopped you in your tracks and trapped you against the wall, âsay it,â he smirked down at you as Frank, not missing a beat, slipped in as well, enclosing you completely, âsay that weâre unstoppable.â
Sucking in a sharp breath, you uttered, âyouâre unstoppable,â the sudden proximity awakening memories that made your heart flutter.Â
âGood girl,â he purred purposely, and a shiver ran down your spine as you recalled just how hot they both sounded cumming for you, a while back, when they had managed to talk you into playing with them both.Â
âYou guys are so mean,â you said light-heartedly.Â
âYeah,â Frank scrunched his nose through his warm smile, âbut you like it.â
Twirling you around the dancefloor, Lloyd had been the only one in the mood to satisfy your surge of energy when you came pouting, begging the boys to dance with you. Holding you close, his hands roamed as you rocked to the music, causing you to close your eyes and drift away.
âHey,â a different hand suddenly tapped you on the shoulder and tore you out of your dream, âI need to talk to you a sec.âÂ
Eyes fluttering open to look back at your redheaded roommate, you gave her a quick, âokay,â before raising yourself up onto your toes to speak into your dance partnerâs ear, âhey, Iâll be right back!â
âOkay,â he shouted back over the loud music, âIâll just go grab a drink, you want any?â
âPlease,â you reluctantly let go of his hand and yelled after him as you followed your friend through the swarm of partying people, âa beer, thanks!âÂ
Rounding the corner to settle into a comparatively quieter nook, you tugged your wild hair behind your ears as you looked back at Natasha, âwhatâs up?â
Biting her lip, she spoke, âyou love me, right?â
âWell, obviously, Iâm about to get down on one knee and everything,â you joked, âwhat is it?â
âCan I have the room tonight?â she asked with a small winch, knowing damn well how frequent this request was.Â
âSeriously?â your eyebrows shot up, âagain?â
âPlease?â she folded her hands dramatically in front of her and begged.Â
Letting out a soft sigh, you said slowly, âif you buy me that super good chocolate with the blue wrapper that they sell down on the corner, then-â
âOh my god,â she cut you off and threw her arms around you, âthank you, thank you, thank you!â
âYouâre the worst roommate ever, you know that?â you smiled, patting her back.Â
âAnd you are the best, a true saint! Me and my sex life pray at your altar.â
âYeah, yeah,â you chuckled, playfully pushing her away, âgo on then, get laid.â
Returning to find that Lloyd had settled in with the rest of the guys, taking up all of the clustered couches, you put on your best miserable expression as he handed you your beer, âguys,â you dramatically caught their attention, âI have some really devastating news to tell youâŚâ faking the need to suck in a self-soothing breath before uttering, âtonight, on this very night, I am homeless!â
âOh no!â they played along, giggling as you pressed the back of your hand up against your forehead.Â
âI know! Whatever am I to do? If only some big, strong, handsome boys would let me crash at their fratâŚâ
Clutching onto Curtisâ broad shoulders as he gave you a piggyback ride back to the frat, you all laughed at Jake and Frankâs terrible, lewd rendition of the schoolâs fight song. If Lloyd had been here, if his stamina hadnât forced him to stay out and enjoy the night a little longer, he would have probably not only joined in, but led the tune, waking up everyone in the dorms you passed.Â
âSo,â Ransom smirked as you all tumbled in through the destinated front door, âwho will have the pleasure of bunking with you tonight?â
âI, uh,â you giggled as Curtis sat you down, your shoes clutched in your hand, âI donât knowâŚâ
âYou can sleep in my room if you want,â Steve offered generously, âIâll just sleep down here on the couch.â
âReally? Are you sure? Because I can just sleep down here on the couch, itâs fine.â
âNo, no,â he waved a hand reassuringly, âyouâve had way more to drink tonight than I have, so you should really take the room closest to the bathroom, just in case.â
Smiling widely, you stumbled over and wrapped your arms around his bulky form, âthank you, Steve,â breathing in his scent as you smooshed your face into his t-shirt, âyouâre the best.â
âYou wanna borrow a shirt to sleep in?â Curtis asked, reaching out a quick arm to steady you as you lost your balance on your way towards the wide staircase. Â
âOh, yeah,â you offered him a fuzzy smile, both the alcohol and the hour causing your eyelids to feel like they weighed a ton, âthat would be great.âÂ
Getting settled into the comparatively more private bedroom located next to the stairs, the bathroom too separating it from the rest of the doors clustered down the narrow hallway, you lazily changed into the t-shirt Curtis soon handed off to you, tugging it over your dress before sliding your party outfit off underneath the grey cotton, keeping yourself somewhat covered purely because you didnât wanna end the conversation you and the rest of the boys were trying to wrap up.
âAlright, we should probably let the lady sleep,â Steve spoke, watching closely as every time you blinked, your eyes gradually stayed closed just a little longer, nearly falling asleep against Curtisâ broad shoulder.
âNo, no,â you protested, inhaling sharply in an effort to wake up more, âIâm just resting my eyesâŚâ
âRight,â Frank chuckled as they all got up from their comfy seat on the mattress, being too tired to fight it, Curtis gently helped you lay down, tugging the duvet over your curled-up form.
âHey,â Ransom poked his head into the room as the rest began to filter out, âI thought you might like this,â you were surprised to see him have a small glass of water in his hand for you. Not simply placing it on the bedside table by your head, he kneeled down next to you and held it out, âhere,â expecting for you to take it, âI swear, chugging a glass of water helps with the hangover,â sliding his free palm under your head to raise it up.
âThank you,â you smiled wearily as you slowly accepted it and raised it up towards your lips.Â
Noticing that you were only taking a small sip, his fingers found the bottom of the glass and pressed it up further, âall of it,â he tilted it for you to down it all, âor else it doesnât work.âÂ
Coughing lightly as you lowed the now empty glass, it left an odd taste in your mouth, though you just summed it up to be the handiwork of some of the strong beverages you had consumed during the night working its way up again.Â
âThanks, Ransom,â you groggily patted his cheek, âyouâre so sweet.âÂ
His eyes flickering over your tired face, smooshed against the pillow, he smirked, âgoodnight,â got back up and strolled out past Curtis still lingering in the doorway, arms crossed and watching over you like a guard dog.Â
âNight,â you quietly called out after him as you saw his frame disappear towards the furthest room down the hallway. Redirecting your attention back to your friend, you hummed, âgo to bed, Curt. You gotta still be super sore from last night.â
âItâs not that bad.â
âOh, so youâre just gonna stand there all night, fall asleep on your feet and act as my sleep paralysis demon for the night?â you joked with half-closed eyes.Â
A small laugh bubbled out of him as he finally moved, âsleep well, angel,â he uncrossed his arms and reached out for the doorknob to tug it closed.Â
âGoodnight, Curtis,â you snuggled further into the pillow as you felt sleep overtake you like a wave crashing the shore, adding absentmindedly under your breath, âlove you.â
âHmmâŚâ you hazily blinked your heavy lids open, roused by the pinching pressure between your thighs. Looking up at the dimly lit figure, you mumbled fuzzily, âw-what?â unsure if this was real life or a dream as the whole bed spun beneath you and you felt like you were floating.Â
âShh, go back to sleep, angel,â Ransomâs grunt pierced your ears as his palm pressed over the bottom half of your face, silencing any words you might speak, âItâs alright, daddyâs got you,â a shy cry vibrated against his hand as you felt him rock against you, finally noticing fully the unexpected sensation of his thick girth stretching you out, âjust be a good girl and lay right there, let me have a little slice of heaven.â
Keeping your exhausted legs spread wide apart, his determined hips acting as a door stop, he moaned quietly, âfuck, it really did do the trick,â he looked down at your dazed form, awake enough to be present for him, but unknowingly sedated enough for you not to fight back, âalmost a shame you wonât be able to remember any of this in the morning,â he slid his hand down to squeeze your throat, pinching your rapid pulse and making the world even more blurry, âlook at you, fucking out like a perfect little doll. You wanna be doll, huh? My own personal little fucktoy?â
Fighting to keep your eyes open, your whole body rocked at his movements as he frantically picked up his pace, selfishly pounding into you, melting on top of you and pressing your sedated body further into the bed.Â
âYou know, I barely needed to touch you a second before you soaked my fingers, you clearly want this as much as I do,â he tightened his grip on your throat, âyou need this, you need me,â stifled moans flowed from his lips as he unmercifully pounded into you, scratching his own vile itch, âpoor you, none of your boyfriends ever touch you properly. Thatâs just what you need, isnât it?â he mocked as your fluttering cunt tried to squeeze him out, expelling him from your body, âyou just need your tight little pussy to be stretched out? Just need some good dick? Donât worry, angel,â you vaguely felt his tongue flicker against your slightly numbed skin, âas long as I am here to help, Iâll keep your pussy sore, keep it filled up,â you just managed to catch him growl before you lost the forlorn battle and your body dozed off again.Â
Waking up with a low groan, you quickly sprung up, feeling the contents of your stomach fighting their way out. With no time to entertain the surprising presents of Curtis already curled up at the foot of the mattress, you bolted out of bed and ran out the door, thankful for the close proximity to the bathroom as you soon found yourself kneeling in front of the toilet, regretting every sip you had indulged in as they burned your entire chest on their way out again.Â
Feeling as your loose hair suddenly got picked up and gently held back, you heard the warm rumble of Curtisâ voice as he said, âwow, okay, alright,â his large palm found your spine, soothingly caressing it as you hurled your guts out, âitâs alright, angel. Just get it all out.â
âUrgh,â you groaned, clutching the cold porcelain as you spat out the fowl tang, âI am never drinking again,â keeping your head over the bowl till you were sure you had gotten it all out. With a heavy sigh, you slumped back, colliding softly with the mass of your friend.Â
âYou okay?â he asked, lightly running his hands over your goosebump-ridden form.Â
âI think so,â you blinked up into his steely eyes, the reddened look to them flying over your exhausted head, âat least I made it to the bathroom this time,â you tried to joke with a half-hearted smile.Â
Letting your body weakly droop down, sighing in relief as you felt the cold tile hug your form, you heard Curtis notice, âno, no, you canât fall asleep out here,â feeling his fingers already slide beneath your body.Â
âBut itâs so comfortable,â you let out a small winch as he scooped you up into his arms, your frame draping over his strong limbs, and a dull pain stung your core. âHey, what date is it?â you suddenly asked, trying to make sense of the uncomfortable tingle.
âI-, uh, why?â he thought, carrying you back into Steveâs room, your eyes noticing the other doors down the dark hallway were all open wide, even though it was the middle of the night.Â
âNo reason, I just think I might be getting my period or somethingâŚâ
âMiss Y/l/n?â a voice called, though you were a million miles away, âMiss Y/l/n?âÂ
âHuh?â you blinked, shaking your head slightly as you unsteadily glanced up at the figure, âsorry, yes,â you reluctantly let go of your friendâs hand and rose from the seat you had been waiting in.Â
âYouâre gonna be fine,â Curtis gave your hand one last squeeze, âIâll wait right here for when youâre done, okay?âÂ
He and the other guys hadnât let you out of their sight since the terrifying news had spread like wildfire yesterday morning and rocked the entire campus to its core.Â
âOkay,â you nodded weakly, not truly present as you followed the stranger inside.Â
Pulling out a chair at the cold table, you sat down and averted your gaze from the walls of the bare conference room provided by the school for the law enforcements to use for their investigation.Â
âThe detective will be right in, you just sit tight,â the figure spoke before they closed the door behind them, leaving you alone in the makeshift interrogation room.Â
You didnât know how long you were in there, maybe a minute, maybe ten, but soon you heard the door creak open once more and a voice, long forgotten, found your ears, âhello, Iâm detective Levinson, I will be conducting this-â
âAri?â you blinked up at your elder childhood friend in amazement, the nauseating feeling of grief momentarily washing away at his unexpected presence as he sat down opposite to you, âwhat are you doing here?â your eyes drifted over his informal suit, the jacket missing and the sleeves sloppily rolled up passed his burly forearms, âand when did you stop being a beat cop?âÂ
âUh,â he blinked, a solemn expression washing over his stern face, softening it significantly, âaround a year ago,â he then sighed deeply and said, âI really hoped there had just been another Y/n Y/l/n here at this schoolâŚâ
Effectively bringing you back down to earth, âoh, yeah⌠will this be a problem? Can you not do this if you already know me?â
âNo, no, itâs not that. I just-,â his head tilted gently to the side, âthis isnât something I ever wanted you to go through.âÂ
Sucking in a sharp breath, you nodded shyly, âyeah, well, I am.â
Looking over you a moment, taking in the small changes you had adapted in the years since you had last seen each other, he offered a genuine, âIâm sorry,â and attempted to catch your weary gaze.Â
âItâs not your fault,â you glanced down at your hands as your fingers once again began to dig nervously into your skin, leaving angry little half-crescent marks in its wake, âyouâre not the one running around murdering students,â you awkwardly attempted to joke. Â
Exhaling lowly, he then opened the file in front of him and laid out a small tape recorder in the middle of the table, âare you ready to begin?âÂ
âYeah.â
Pressing on one of the side buttons on the recorder, Ari then announced methodically, âcan you please state your name for the record?âÂ
âY/n Y/l/n.âÂ
âAnd for the record, are you speaking to me voluntarily?â
âI am.â
Glancing over the open folder sprawled out in front of him, he asked, âwhat was your relationship with the victim?âÂ
âRansom, he-, um⌠he was a friend. I honestly didnât really know him for too long, but he lived with some of my best friends, so it just seemed pretty natural for him to also become a part of our little group, if youâd call it that.âÂ
âAnd you last saw Mr Drysdale when?âÂ
âAt the party Saturday night. I crashed at their flat after that, so it was probably early Sunday morning that I saw him last, when he was on his way to bed, I think.âÂ
âDid anything happen to him that night? Anything unusual? His behaviour? Someone he interacted with? Anything you can think of that stands out?âÂ
âUhm,â you thought back, remembering the heated kiss you had shared in the bathroom, though looking back into Ariâs studying eyes, you couldnât help but lie and say, âno, I donât think so. It was just a party, you know,â the thought of telling your childhood crush that you drunkenly made out with a guy sent your stomach turning, crushing the truth before it could crawl out.Â
âAlright,â he nodded, âwell, if you do remember anything, please reach out, weâre running the bulk of the investigation from here, so you know where Iâll be.â
âStill have your number,â you forced an awkward laugh.
âRight,â he sucked in a breath and averted his piercing gaze, âso, uhm, I donât think I have anything else to ask you right now. Thank you for your cooperation with the investigation.â
âOf course,â you watched as his fingers wrap around the tape recorder, clicking the protruding button and making it stop, âit-, um,â you felt a shiver run down your spine as his eyes fell upon you once more, making the polite words seem that much harder to muster, âit really is good to see you again. Nice to see that youâre doing good,â then added jokingly, âthat your mom still hasnât talked you into cutting your hair,â a sincere smile tickled your lips at the mention of the warm woman living next door to your own parents.Â
Even though it was clearly forced, your words still conjured a genuine reaction from the guy who used to babysit you, âyeah, no, you know sheâs never winning that battle,â he chuckled, shaking his head lightly, âitâs, uh, itâs great to see you as well. You-, umâŚÂ yeahâŚâ he dropped whatever compliment was on the tip of his tongue and averted his gaze, âI donât wanna keep you any longer, you can go, you probably have classes to get to.â Â
âI actually donât,â you informed him, though still slowly got up from your seat, âour professors have given us all some time off to-, uh, you knowâŚâ
âYeahâŚâ he nodded understandingly, his vision following your form as you made your way towards the door.Â
Pausing just before your fingertips grazed the doorknob, you looked back, timidly chewing on your bottom lip, âhey, Ari?âÂ
âYes?â he responded quickly, clearly still completely captivated.Â
Finding it difficult to even breathe properly in his presence, especially when those soulful eyes were locked upon yours, you found that your words crumbled before they even got to see the light of day, âI-, umâŚâ then hastily scrambled your brain for a makeshift, âgood luck.â
Breathing out a soft smile as he watched you nervously fiddle with the door handle, he said, âthanks, Y/n.âÂ
It had been Monday morning that a garbage man had found Ransomâs body in a dumpster on the far side of campus. Even though they had tried to contain the news, it still spread like a wildfire, and come lunch that day, it was the only thing any student could talk about.Â
The frat quickly got sealed off as an active crime scene as it had been the last place witnesses had seen him alive, forcing the rest of the guys to temporarily bunk up with friends in their dorms. You felt a bit ashamed about the immense relief you felt at that small detail, the comfort of having each one of them fight over who got to stay with you being something you welcomed with open arms. In the end, it was both Curtis and Steve who stayed with you, Natasha giving you the room and staying with her newfound beau in the meantime, giving you the entire space for a while. Â
The guys had always been protective of you, but it almost seemed to have grown over the past few gloomy days. Not a second passed by where at least one of them wasnât at your side, holding you as you cried, walking with you through the crowded campus or just keeping you company, making sure you werenât alone. You just added it up to be their version of freaking out and buying into the whole conspiracy that it hadnât been a drug deal gone wrong as so many had assumed of the recently deceased playboy with a penchant for illicit substances, but actually someone on campus, a stone-cold killer masking as just the person next to you in your lit class.Â
âWhy donât you go ask him?âÂ
âMe?â your brows furrowed in Lloydâs direction, âwhy me? If you wanna know so bad, why donât you just go ask him yourself?â
Chiming in, Jake tilted his head, âwell, you did say you know the guy.âÂ
Exhaling lowly, you averted your gaze, your crossed arms tightening over your chest, âyeah, you could certainly say thatâŚâ
âSo just go, bat your eyelashes at him for a bit and figure out how much he knows,â Lloyd tried to persuade you, though even his ever-present cocky charm couldnât sway you this time.
Previously assuming that the whole conversation had just gone over Curtisâ head, as he had just quickly sat beside you and stared out the window, he suddenly perked up, âwe just-âŚâ he struggled to vocalise, âif it really is someone here on campus⌠just the thought you sitting in class with them or-, fuck, anything, it just-âŚâ like a magnet, your fingers naturally found his own in a comforting squeeze, âangel, we just wanna keep you safe and the thought of someone like that running around terrorising the school-⌠just please go figure out if he has a suspect yet. See if he has got any leads.â
From the moment you had said goodbye to the familiar detective, shame about not telling him the whole truth had nearly eaten you alive. You had lied to not only a person you had known your whole life, but also a law enforcer. It was insufferable, like a snowball rolling down a hill and growing bigger and bigger with each accumulated snowflake.Â
âFine,â you cracked, the shameful storm inside your body becoming too much to bear, âIâll do it.â
âKnock, knock,â you said with a small smile as you pushed the ajar door open completely.Â
âY/n,â Ariâs spine straightened in surprise, his eyes no longer glued to the computer screen before him, âwhat are you doing here?â
âThought you might be hungry,â you held up your alibi for coming in the form of a takeout bag, âitâs from this little Indian place downtown,â you shut the door behind you before plopping the crinkly bag down on the table, the warm light from the desk lamp illuminating the brimming containers of curry stacked inside, âyou like Indian, right?â
âI-, I do,â he said, still taken aback by the kind gesture, âthank you.â
âYouâre welcome. Thought it was the least I could do as a thanks for what youâre doing,â you waved a hand in the direction of the cluttered corkboard on the wall.Â
âItâs just my job, you donât need to thank me,â he said modestly, leaning back in his chair and lending you to spot the silver pen his fingers fiddled with.Â
Lowering your gaze to stare at your shoes, you exhaled, ârightâŚâ
âSo, um,â he filled out the awkward silence, âwas there anything else you needed?â
âOh, sorry,â you mumbled, keeping your eyes averted, âyouâre obviously super busy and here I am just barging in,â your vision finally flickered up to lock with his, already steadfast on you, âI just, uhâŚâ your breaths became more jagged as his sky-like eyes captivated your own, âthere was actually something else I wanted to talk to you about, something I wanted to tell you.â
âAlrightâŚâ he nodded, listening intently.Â
Blowing out a shaky breath, you revealed, âI lied, something did happen that night.â
âOkay,â his brows furrowed, though not as much as you had feared, âwhat was it?â your anxious brain haven already thought of a million different dramatic punishments he could penalise you with.
âI, uhâŚâ you squeezed your eyes shut nervously, âI kissed him,â your pained voice rushed to force out, âat that party. It was in the bathroom and almost became something else, but, um yeah⌠we kissed⌠me and RansomâŚâ you peaked just one of your eyes open, your tense shoulders nearly pressing against your ears at this point, âIâm really sorry, I just felt like couldnât tell you something like that, not you. I wonât be arrested for hiding this information, will I?â
âNo, no,â Ari quickly rose from his seat, âY/n, youâre okay,â he stepped closer to you as he attempted to calm your uncalled-for panic, âyou wonât be arrested.â
âOh,â you breathed, âgood,â feeling your shoulders begin to drop back down again, âyou know how my mind tends to freak out.â
âYeah,â he nodded softly, âI doâŚâ his words genuine as memories conjured the whisper of a smile to appear upon his lips, âthank you for telling me.â
Awkwardly, you flashed him a tight-lipped smile, grateful that uncomfortable moment had passed, you recalled the other reason for why you had come, âsoâŚâ
âSoâŚâ he echoed.
âDo you have any leads, if you donât mind me asking?â
âThatâs classified information, you know I canât tell you that.â
âI knowâŚâ you averted your gaze and scrabbled your brain for what you could do or say to get him to tell you, âitâs just, Iâm so scared all the time. The school was always a place that made me feel safe, till nowâŚâ although your intentions behind those words werenât completely truthful, the statement wasnât that far off, âit was just worth a try asking you.â
Holding your gaze, you could almost see his heartstrings get tugged as his brows quivered in compassion, âI-⌠I do have something. If you didnât know, we just finished sweeping the victimâs living quarters, so if they havenât already been notified, your friends should be able to move back in by tomorrow, but we also found something, not there, but in proximity to the dump site, there was a knife with traces of the victimâs blood on it. Itâs in the lab right now as we speak, trying to decipher if there are any identifiable prints on it.âÂ
âOh my godâŚâ you felt goosebumps sting at every inch of your skin.Â
âYou havenât heard any details about what state his body was found in, have you?âÂ
âNoâŚâ both from avoiding the papers and keeping to your dorm, you might be the only student on campus not aware of how your late friend had died, âhe was stabbed?â
âThat was decisively what killed him, yeah, but he was brutally beaten before that.â
âHoly shit, thatâs-âŚâ you shuttered, your eyes just now noticing the nauseating photos pinned on the board beside you, âfuck⌠I donât know how you do this all day, deal with these kinds of things.âÂ
âIt gets easier over time,â he shared, his worried eyes scanning your face a moment before apprehensively uttering, âthis might be a really stupid question, but how are you holding up?â
âI-âŚâ you toyed with the thought of lying to him yet again, but then opted to share the truth, âI am not doing so good, to be honest. I could probably count the number of hours Iâve slept in the last few days on one hand, or so Iâve been told. I donât think it feels like Iâve slept at all, but apparently I have, just a little bit.â
Sucking in a pained breath, he murmured, âIâm sorry. I can help find someone you can talk to, if you want.â
âNo, itâs alright,â his kind offer made it easier for you to look away from the horror plastered all over the office walls, âI mean, Iâm not alone, that fact has become crystal clear throughout all of this.â
âYeah, I kinda pieced that together,â he spoke in a much different manner than before, causing your brows to crinkle, âI conducted all the other interviews. Itâs nice that youâve made friends, making the most out of your college experience,â he said in a tone, almost reminiscent of jealousy. Â
Averting your eyes, memories you so desperately tried to keep at bay pried their way in and snuffed out the fuming flicker his resentment had ignited, âhey Ari?â
âYeah?â
âDid you know?â you asked wearily.Â
âKnow what?â
âDid you know all of those years, growing up together?â you lifted your vision once more as he offered you a questioning hum, âdid you know that I was in love with you?â
Taken aback, it took a bit before he managed to answer, âno, I didnât.â
âWhy didnât you ever call me? You just left.âÂ
âI was getting married, Y/n. What was I supposed to do?âÂ
âNot fuck the girl you used to babysit,â you shot back coldly, âwhat even was I to you?â
âI-⌠I donât know,â his frustrated words came out breathy, âdo you think I planned for any of that to have happened? To sleep with you of all people? I didnât. But when I came home that summer and saw you again, saw who you had become, I donât know, everything just changed, you changed. I fully thought that youâd to still be that same little annoying brat you used to be, but you really werenât. I didnât expect it to happen, I didnât expect you to suddenly do something like that to me, have that kind of power over me!â
âSo, you just decided to break my heart instead? I was mad for you, for as long as I could remember. That summer was the happiest Iâd ever been and then you just up and left in the middle of the night without a word. Did you even think to imagine what it was like for me to run around that morning looking for you and instead finding an invitation for your wedding? I had to hear from your fucking parents that you had just come home to prepare things before the big day. You hadnât even mentioned to me once that you were engaged, or even as much as just in a relationship. Was any of it even real to you or was I just your last bit of fun before you got tied down?â
âIt was, Y/n,â he insisted sincerely, âit was the realest thing Iâve ever felt.â
âThen why did you go without as much as a goodbye? You know how much that broke me?â
âYeah, well you seem to be doing just fine now,â he said pettily.Â
âExcuse me? You donât get to say something like that to me. You were the one who broke my heart, you donât get to judge how I glued it back together. Just go back home to your wife, why donât you.â
Suddenly looking back at you in confusion, Ari then illuminated carefully, âY/n, Iâm not married.â
âWhat?â you blinked.Â
âI mean, I know you werenât there that day, but I thought my mom at least had told you,â the gears turning inside of him were nearly visible to the naked eye, âI couldnât go through with it.â
âWhat? Why?â
Biting his tongue as he held your eye, he then exhaled, âbecause I didnât think I should get married if I was in love with someone else.â
Sucking in a stunned breath, you saw tears cloud your vision, âb-but⌠you never even calledâŚâ
âI know I didnât,â he concurred heavily, his eyes unable to look away from your glossy ones. Feeling as if you might faint, you saw his woeful vision flicker down towards your lips, âIâm sorry, Y/n.âÂ
But just as you saw him slowly inch his face closer and closer to yours, a sharp intake of air stung your lungs as you raised a hand up as a barricade, âI canâtâŚâ too scared of history repeating itself, âwe canâtâŚâ
Sighing deeply, his eyes traced the tear that rolled down your cheek, âI knowâŚâ
You had just been helping the guys move back into the frat. That was all you had been doing. One moment you were all laughing, actually having a normal and pleasant moment for once, and the next, two officers were barging down the door and reading Lloyd his rights.Â
Youâd nearly lost it completely and Curtis had to hold you back so that you didnât go scratch one of the officerâs eyes out. The man in the cuffs however took it with style, only trying to break through your hazy to let you know that he would be fine and for the others to take care of you, after all, this wasnât his first rodeo down to the station, although those times it had only been for petty crimes like bar room brawls and such.Â
âBut I mean, how did it even happen?â you thought out loud a while later, the miranda rights still ringing in your ears like a triggering song you just couldnât get out of your head, âthatâs what my mind keeps going back to,â you had finally calmed down after what felt like forever of the guys talking out of marching down to the station to do something, anything to get Lloyd out. Completely powerless, you sat curled up at the end of the couch as words flowed from your exhausted lips, âhow could someone like him be killed? He was such a nice guy.âÂ
Not being able to stand it any longer, Curtis pipped up from the armchair on the other side of the living room, âno, he really wasnât,â your bolstering words about the deceased being too much for him to take without cracking, âhe was a rich creep and everyone knew it,â frustratingly, he gesticulated, âwith everything that he did to you, how can you just sit there and say that he was a nice person? The guy drugged you and violated you in your sleep for fuck sake!âÂ
The room went dead quiet as soon as those words left his lips.Â
ââŚwhat are you talking about?â your voice no higher than a whisper as you watched your burly friend shrink in regret. âCurtis,â you repeated more sternly this time as he didnât offer an explanation, âwhat do you mean? What did you do?â your voice broke as thoughts about if Lloydâs arrest hadnât been a misunderstanding after all entered your mind.Â
âYou canât tell her,â Frank shot a glare at the fighter, âwe had a deal.âÂ
âYeah, well that was before Lloyd got fucking arrested!â Jake chimed in, panic shining clear through in his tone, âsheâs a part of this, has been since the very beginning. She has a right to know.âÂ
Finding your wide eyes in the crowd, Curtis asked you wearily, âyou really wanna know what happened that night?â hugging your knees tighter to your chest, you gave him a small nod in confirmation, âfine, Iâll tell you.â
âŚ
âIs she okay?â Curtis pushed the ajar door open further to ask, haven, on his way to the bathroom,  caught sight of an out of breath Ransom tugging the covers back over your passed out form.Â
The head of the cashmere-clad man snapped up at the sign of company, the sudden alarm that began to bloom on his features was quickly drowned out by his usual arrogant air, âyeah, man,â he shot back defensively, rushing to get out of the room, âsheâs fine,â sounding like it had been a completely crazy question to ask.Â
Furrowed brow staying put, Curtis uttered slowly, âalright, but I think Iâm just gonna check myself, if you donât mind.â
âI said sheâs fine!â Ransom slammed the door shut behind him, prohibiting the man now only inches from him from entering, âjust go back to your own room!â
Worry and suspicion only growing at the obvious fibs, Curtis demanded, âwhat were you doing in there? What did you do?â
âWhat are you talking about?â he scoffed back.Â
âWhat did you do to her?â Curtis took a looming step closer just as their raised voices began to stir some of the other slumbering residents.
âI didnât do a thing,â he cockily dared a chuckle, âcalm down.â
âI will not fucking calm down,â Curtis barked back before attempting to call to you through the closed door, âangel, you okay?â
Leaning against the wall beside his own room, Jake rubbed the sleep out of his eyes as he groaned, âguys, can you not yell in the middle of the night? Some of us are kinda trying to sleep here.â
Frank, as well haven appeared, seemed a little more alert at the sudden commotion in the hallway, âhey, whatâs going on?â
âNothingâs going on,â their suspicious friend waved a hand, âCurtis is just being a little bitch and freaking out for no reason,â the ostentatious gesture granted the opposing man an opportunity to slip past and enter the room.
Nearly kicking the door down, Curtis rushed to your side, examining your unconscious form with worried eyes, âangel?â the dim lights streaming in from the hallway just barely letting him notice how wrinkled and haphazard the t-shirt heâd lent you just a few hours before was on you.Â
âJesus, just let her sleep, dude.â
Ignoring Ransomâs words of warning, Curtis tried once more, âY/n?â touching your skin lightly before giving you a gentle shake, âcome on, wake up for me, baby,â his heart nearly beat out of his chest as he unsuccessfully tried to stir you, the shallow rise and fall of your abdomen not granting him as much comfort as it should have.Â
Nearing the end of the hall, Frank asked once more, âwhatâs going on?â side-eyeing Ransom warily, âis she okay?â
âOf course sheâs okay,â the trust fund kid scoffed.
âThe fuck she is,â Curtisâ head whipped back in the direction of Ransomâs silhouette in the doorway. Getting back up on his feet, his sharp intakes of air causing his shoulders to rise, he stormed back out and demanded, âwhat did you do? Why were you in here and why the fuck is she not waking up?â
âDid you not see how much she had to drink tonight?â Ransom defensively gestured to your passed-out form on the narrow bed, âI was just checking up on her,â and with a heavy sigh abandoned the argument entirely and descended the stairs.Â
Catching Curtisâ arm just in time to stop him from storming down after the man at the centre of the quarrel, Frank tried to catch the darting eyes of his friend as he asked firmly, âCurtis, whatâs going on?â
âI saw him in there, hovering above her like a creep.â
Already worried eyes suddenly growing in alarm, âhe was in there?â Frank quickly shared a panicked look with Jake, both now sharing the same inkling of what horrible thing had occurred, âalone with her?â
âYes.â
âWait,â Frank gasped, âdid you say sheâs not waking up? She is still breathing though, isnât she?â
âYeah, sheâs just out cold. Why?â
âOh my godâŚâ Jake shuttered, his interrupted slumber now long forgotten.
âWhat? What is it? What arenât you guys telling me?â
Exhaling lowly, Frank carefully began to explain, âCurtis, you know that my sister goes to Bayshore, right?â
âUm, sure, yeah?â unsure as to why that fact was significant.
âWell, she told me about this student who overdosed after being drugged and raped. The guy was apparently caught and everything but just came from a wealthy enough family to not only never be convicted, but also keep the news out of the papers. Curtis, thatâs where Ransom transferred from.â
Seeing nothing but red, Curtis stormed down the stairs. On his determined path to the kitchen where the object for his bubbling rage now stood, leisurely sipping from a glass of water. Curtis narrowly caught sight of Lloyd as he finally stumbled through the entrance from his drawn-out merriment, uttering a hushed apology to the bulky frame of Steve on the couch for the way he had carelessly slammed the front door shut behind him.
Only rolling his eyes at the sight of Curtis, Ransom didnât even lower his glass as the fuming figure neared, âdude, I already told you, I didnât do a thing-â though the rest of his provoking words got squashed as Curtisâ fist suddenly collided with his jaw, swiftly grabbing onto his soft sweater before he could crumble like the shattered glass now scattered across the cool tile, âwhat the fuck!â  water splashing onto both of their feet.Â
âWhat did you give her?â Curtis barked, his fingers digging into the intricate, stained knit so hard that they threatened to poke through to the other side.Â
âGive who what?â appalled glare piercing as he fought against the hold.Â
âY/n!â he shook him heatedly, âwhat did you give her?â
âI didnât give her shit, man,â Ransom just managed to spit out before white knuckles collided with his face once more.Â
âDid you touch her? Because I swear to fuck, if you laid even as much as one finger on her, Iâm gonna-â
âOh, I see,â he actually dared to chuckle, a bit of crimson already staining the pearly whites he flashed, âyouâre jealous that you didnât get with her tonight.â
Landing another raging blow, Curtis yanked him in close and growled, âyou shut up and answer my question! Did you touch her?â
Scoffing through his laboured groans of agony, Ransom finally disclosed smugly, âof course, I did, man. Sheâs been all over me all night long, begging for me to give it to her good.â
The rest of the frat haven now clustered in the kitchen as well, staying in the periphery, Frank accused, âwhat did you give her? Was it the same as the girl you killed back at Bayshore?â
The deep-pocketed manâs eyes flickered over Curtisâ shoulder, bruises blooming and swelling up his vision, âexcuse me?âÂ
âThe rape victim that overdosed at your old school?â the bridge of Frankâs nose twitched in fury, âit was you that killed her, wasnât it?â
âI didnât do anything of the sort, all I did was show those girls a good time, itâs not my fault some canât keep up.â
âIs that what you think happened tonight?â Curtis hauled him against the fridge, gaining the manâs attention once more, âyou call assaulting Y/n a good fucking time?â
Keeping his head held high, Ransom slurred, âwhat are you ashamed youâre not man enough to rough your girl up a bit and give her what she really likes?â
Huffing like a bull, he uttered, âshe does not like it like that.â
âOh yeah? Then tell me why I had her moaning the way I did, dripping down on olâ Steveâs bed like a cheap whore. Kind of a shame that she wonât remember any of it in the morning, just hope I fucked her good enough that at least some part of her wonât forgetâŚâ
âŚ
âOh my godâŚâ you shuttered, unable to look any of them in the eye, âoh my god,â your palm shot up to clasp over your lips to choke the shaky cry that forced its way out, âI thought-âŚâ vision darting everywhere and nowhere at the same time, âI thought it had been a dream,â tears streamed down your ghostly face as the hazy nightmare suddenly came into focus, âoh my god! I-⌠I knew him,â you jaggedly tried to piece it all together as vile stung in the back of your throat, âhe was-, he was my friend. I hadnât known him that long, but he was my friend. I-⌠he wasnât just some dangerous stranger in the back of an ally threatening to kill me, he was my friend.â
âŚ
The incoherent screams of Curtis slowly subsisted as his rampant blows finally slowed down. Slowly backing up, chest heaving, horror took over his eyes as he saw how far he had been pushed, watching as blood bubbled out of Ransomâs mouth, guggling his words.
âJust you fucking wait till my family finds out,â he weakly continued his threats from his wrecked position on the tiled floor, âdo you have any idea how much power money gives you? I can squash you all like little bugs, ruin any chance you might have of a pathetic future and keep angel all to myself.â
Unable to look away, Steve suddenly uttered as Curtis shakily retreated into the shadows, ââŚguys, we have to call an ambulance.â
Whipping his head around, Jake protested, âno, donât!â ready to swat away any phone that might be raised, âheâs right. He has the upper hand no matter if we get him to a hospital or not.â
âSo, what do we do? Look at him,â Steve woefully gestured to the beaten playboy crumbled on the floor, âheâs dying. We canât just leave him here!â
âNoâŚâ Lloyd sighed, his demeanour seeming surprisingly calm and level-headed under the circumstance, âbut we can use what little time we have left before the sun comes up to our advantageâŚâÂ
âWhat the fuck are you talking about?â Frankâs brows furrowed frightfully.Â
In a wide arc around Ransomâs broken form, Lloyd made his way over to one of the kitchen counters and pulled open a drawer, âhe said it himself,â he exhaled lowly as he accepted his fate, âhe is more than capable of making not only angelâs life hell, but also all of ours,â his tone cold, he riffled through the utensils, âfrom where Iâm standing, thereâs only one way for us to get out of this with minimal casualties,â and fished out a knife, the steel reflecting in the low light seeping in through the other room.Â
âYou canât be fucking serious,â Steve gasped, âweâre not murdering him!âÂ
âSo youâd rather try and explain his corpse just lying here in our kitchen? This way we get the upper hand, we speed up the process and use the remainder of the night to our advantage till the rest of campus wakes up, hide him somewhere else, somewhere he wonât be found,â Lloyd stressed, âwe have to kill him, itâs the only way.âÂ
âShit dudeâŚâ Frank breathed, he and the rest realizing that he was right, âwhere would we even hide him?â
After only pondering it a second, Jake pipped up, âitâs trash day tomorrow,â tensely sharing glances with the rest, âif we get him to one of the big dumpsters on the other side of campus, drop him in there, no one will know! And even if they do eventually discover parts of him out on some dump, they wonât be able to get anything off of him anyways at that point.âÂ
âI-âŚâ Curtisâ shaky voice finally filled the room, guilt seeping through in his brassy timbre as he asked what no one else would, ââŚwhoâs gonna do it?âÂ
Not letting the others even consider that weight, Lloyd swiftly declared, âIâll do it.â
âWhat?â the trembling fighterâs eyes finally lifted.
âIf they actually do somehow manage to nail us for this, it should be me that goes down for it,â he stated deliberately, âalways knew Iâd go to prison at some point just like my old man, this way it wouldnât be for anything stupid.âÂ

No pressure at all! But I had an idea for your âhow would the Cevans characters reactâ Iâve loved every installment of this so far đĽ°đ¤đĽ°
How would they react if reader was having an off day and for some reason couldnât get off so she faked having an orgasm in bed.
Is this because of @cevansbrat0007's Ari fic? (which is great, go read that, but I feel like I've seen a surge in this trope since) Because, see, this is very interesting to me, and I really hope you've read other stuff of mine before, nonnie. I don't write everybody as a perfect gentleman...
Warnings for various levels of spice since we are, in fact, talking about orgasms, duh! MINORS DNI. See my Light Masterlist for all-age friendly fics!
James Mace
Ok, I'm not sure it would get so far as for you to actually fake it. Mace is a slow, steady, deep kind of lover. He'd realize you aren't getting anywhere or building up to it pretty quickly, all things considered, and he would make you talk to him while he continues foreplay/touching you. Pretty sure he just wants to be attached to you in some way while you have time together...
Curtis Everett
Curtis gets very intense when he senses you're holding something back, like predatorily intense. Uses his body to cage you in, constant eye contact, probably even pinching/tickling you until you confess.
He doubles down. You fake one; Curtis forces two out of you in return.
Jimmy Dobyne
Shockingly, Jimmy would be super upset if you faked an orgasm with him. (There is one caveat to this: IF HE FINDS OUT.) Jimmy is a straight-forward guy who doesn't enjoy dating games. You aren't into sex right now? Fucking say something. He's horrified by the idea you would just lay there and take it or whatever because what the fuck???
He's got simple rules. If you don't like something, tell him because he can handle himself for one night/a little while or he'll happily do something different. If you never want something he does, then you two shouldn't be together. That's it.
Sex is an important aspect of your relationship, but it ain't the whole thing. Tell him to piss off, or ask for a quiet night of holding each other. Do not lie, cheat, or steal. You lied about being satisfied, you cheated him out of the chance to actually give you what you needed, and you stole his confidence that he recognizes your body's signals. Yes, Jimmy sorta makes it about him, but that's mostly because he feels helpless and a little dirty.
Johnny Storm
Existential CRISIS.
Have you ever faked it with him before? Have other women faked it with him?? Is this a common thing??? Hot shot goes into full-meltdown mode, and unsurprisingly, you end up kinda lost in the narrative there, soothing him instead of yourself.
Oddly enough, you two do end up closer from the experience though because Johnny realizes that he very much values trust and honesty, whereas before he would have thought plain ol' fun the most important thing...
Jake Jensen
Jakey, my beloved, clueless noob... He doesn't really know what to do. He asks a lot of questions. What's wrong? What can he do? What do you want in this moment? Should he have done it differently? Do you need more? Something else? Was it him?
For a dozen times after, he'll ask if that one was real or fake. He's touchy about it, but 90% of his concern is just that you are actually happy. He puts in quite a bit of extra effort for a while after, too.
Lloyd Hansen
I am a broken record when it comes to Lloyd: he does not care. At best, he'd be torturing you to come for his own pleasure. At worst, well, he's there to get off. You don't need to.
If by some magical scenario Lloyd does give a fuck about you or your feelings, I think he'd expect you to take what you needed from him to climax. Otherwise, it's not really his problem.
Ari Levinson
Depends on his own mood for sure. When Ari is stressed or tired, he tends to turn inward and focus on his own feelings, not purposefully ignoring you but still. It reads like he didn't/doesn't notice and just continues on with sleep/the normal routine. If he's got the emotional, energy bandwidth to talk it out with you, he absolutely will. Don't take any offense. Sometimes he's muddling through like you.
Ransom Drysdale
Has no idea. Probably doesn't want to have an idea. Unless it becomes a regular problem, he's just gonna let it slide. He won't bring it up if you don't.
Steve Rogers
On the surface, Steve looks concerned and listens to your reasons for faking, but honestly, on the inside, he hates the idea that you felt the need to. Steve will easily forego sex in favor of literally anything you want to do, so to let it get all the way to love-making and apparently suffering through till he's finished? It makes him a bit sick. He'll get more more restrained and cautious in future, all for want of you never faking again.
Bucky Barnes
Feels like a huge failure as a partner. Spends a good portion of the conversation having you promise to communicate with him better from now on. This is from a man who has so many things going on in his mind that Bucky is often derailed from pleasure/enjoyment during sex. He's just very triggered by the darndest things, and you've been so understanding. Why can't he be that for you, too?
Thank you for asking!
A/N: I know these are a bit short. Let me know if there's one or more you'd like expanded on, but thank you for reading!

The assistant (9) - Revenge for champions
Lloyd reluctantly opens the gate for Steve. He eyes the captain warily, and huffs. âCaptain Asshole.â He grunts.
âKidnapper,â Steve bites back. Like promised, he came in civilian clothes, and without his shield. Heâs carrying a duffle bag while surveilling the property on his way toward the mansion.
âI see Captain Asshat came,â Ari sneers at Steve. He looks the captain up and down, wondering what everything sees in the blonde.
âPlay nice, Ari,â Andy warns. He doesnât like having Steve on their property either, but this way, the brothers have control over the situation. And he made a few calls. Things will go according to his plan, not Steveâs. âNo killing Captain America.â
Lloyd snorts. âSpeak for yourself, not me. If he only breathes wrong, heâll bite a bullet.â
âAh, we already reached the status of threatening,â Curtis steps out of the mansion, his muscular arms crossed over his chest. âJake checks on the cameras, and Mike is doing Pilates or crap with Y/N.â
âIf he touched her,â Steve wants to jump at Curtis. âIâll break his neck.â
âWhoaâŚwhoa,â Lloyd points his index finger at Steve. âIf anyone breaks our little chaosâs neck, itâs me. Heâs my brother, not yours.â
Andy coughs and looks away. He doesnât know how to tell his brothers whom he called to join forces with them. If they must fight Captain America and the Avengers, theyâll need every help they can get.
âSo, uhââ he loosens his tie. âWe should talk about something before we let him inside. I made a few calls and asked for a favor.â
âYou asked for a favor?â Curtis turns his head to look at his brother. âAndy, what did you do? I hope you donât try to bullshit us with your lawyer crap again.â
âI wish it was only about lawyer crapâŚâ Andy looks at the still-open gate. He huffs and removes his tie. âI called someone to join us today.â
âAnother guest?â Lloyd rolls his eyes. âAndy, weâve got our hands full with Captain Turd over there. I donât have the nerves to handle our little chaos, Cappy and another guest.â
âHere we goâŚâ Ari sighs when a car drives through the open gate. He shakes his head before punching Andyâs arm. âHeâs an outcast, brother. How dare you call him?â
âHeâs still our brother,â Andy argues. âI meanâŚyeahâŚhe chose another family over us, and his love for money is making me sick butâŚâ
âAndrew Barber, there is no but!â Lloyd lunges at his brother. He has his hand around Andyâs throat to slam him into the wall.
âWhoa, stop it!â Ari struggles to drag Lloyd off his brother. âWe donât kill each other, Lloyd. Save your energy for our real enemies.â
âHe invited Ransom fucking Drysdale, Ari! How could he? That bastard said we are not brothers,â Curtis yells as said man gets out of his brand-new car. âYou! Get off our property!â
Curtis storms toward Ransom to punch his face. âYou fucker!â Ransom dodges the next punch. He likes the finer things in life but didnât forget how to fight. âAndy called me!â
âWhat is this all aboutââ Jake and Mike stop in their tracks. While Ari tries to keep Lloyd from strangling Andy, Curtis and Ransom throw punches at each other. âGuys! Whatâs going on here?â
âSo, this is how you keep Y/N safe?â Steve huffs. He drops his duffle bag to the ground to storm past Jake and Mike. âIâll get her out of this madhouse!â
âBuddy, you better stay out,â Jake puts his hand on Steveâs chest to stop him and make things worse. He doesnât stand a chance against Captain America, but right now, he gives a shit.
âGUYS!â you stomp your foot. âWhat is going on here?â You storm toward Lloyd to slap his shoulder. âLloyd, let go of Andy. Ari same goes for you. Stop hitting your brotherâs back.â
âButââ Lloyd pouts. âHeâŚand thenâŚand he invited the gold-digger!â
âI donât care, Lloyd Hansen,â you poke his arm. âWe do not hurt the people we love. I want you to apologize to your brother.â You harrumph and tap your foot. âLloyd, apologize to your brother or there will be no dessert for you.â
Lloydâs eyes darken. He looks at your crotch and hums. âI love me some dessert, Cupcake. What do you have to offer?â
âNot that, you little pervert,â you slap the back of his head. âNow play nice, Lloyd.â
âFine,â he pouts. âIâm sorry for choking you.â He looks at Andy, not sorry at all.
âAri, your turn,â you point at Ari. âIâm waiting. There will be no head massage and hair pulling for you if you do not apologize for slapping your brother.â
âIs it just me, or is this kind of hot?â Lloyd grins. Heâs happy that he isn't the only one who got in trouble this time.
âLloyd, Iâm sorry for slapping your back. Even though you deserved it and I only tried to keep you from choking Andy to death.â
âVery well,â you clap your hands and turn your attention toward Mike. âAre you okay? Did one of them hurt you too?â
âNo, Iâm good butââ He points at Curtis and Ransom. They are tangled in each other, fighting for control. âUh-we should stop them tooâŚâ
âChrist on a cracker!â You throw your hands up. âYouâŚâ you point at Steve. âHands off Jake.â You look at Jake. âJakie, no violence. How about you and Mike talk some sense into your brothers.â
âSure, Sweetie,â Jake relaxes when you press a soft kiss on his cheek. âBut if he blinks, Iâll smash him with my laptop.â
âFair,â you nod and walk toward Curtis and Ransom. Curtis tries to wrestle Ransom to the ground while Ransom tries to kick Curtisâs shin. âGuys, whatâs your problem?â
âHey, Â Sunshine,â Curtis pants. He pushes Ransom to the ground, grabs his arm, and twists it. âWe are good, Y/N. Just give me a minute to convince my brother to leave our property.â
âAnother brother,â you crouch down to get a better look at the man on the ground. âYou really are the seven dwarfs.â You smirk at the man staring up at you. He grins and licks his lips.
âOh, thatâs a nice new addition,â Ransom purrs. âTell me, Sugar. Whom do you belong to?â
âSheâs our friend, stop hitting on her,â Curtis puts his foot onto Ransomâs chest. âYou are not welcome here.â
Ransom sucks his lower lip in. âShe belongs to all of you.â He whistles. âYouâre a sweet thing. HmmâŚI can think of a thing or two to make you happy.â
âRansom!â Jake grunts. âDonât talk like that to Y/N!â
âCurtis, let his arm go,â you place your hand on Curtisâs shoulder to calm him. âPeople are watching.â You whisper. âWe donât want to draw too much attention toward us. Remember?â
âYouâre lucky she stopped me,â Curtis drops Ransomâs arm and steps away. âIf not Iâd rip your arm out to slap you to death with it.â
âCurtis!â You tut. âWhy are you so angry at him?â
âHe left us when we needed him the most,â Lloyd wraps his arm protectively around your shoulders. âWe were barely fifteen, and that bastard talked some rich people into adopting him. They wanted an heir, and he wanted to get away from us.â
âCan you blame me for not wanting to end up being a mobster and get shot dead? I wanted more from life than that. Just like Andy. But heâs here, parading around the mansion!â Ransom growls. âYou forgave him for leaving, but not me. I was a kid looking for hope.â
âYouâre a gold-digging whore wanting shiny things, nothing else,â Lloyd spits on the ground next to Ransom. âI suggest you stay far away from me, and Y/N.â
âLloydâŚâ Andy sighs. âPlease stop this shit. You canât expect all of us to want the same things you want from life. We tried a different life, okay. The moment you called I was there. Just like Ransom came here after I asked him for help.â
âHe wonât get one of the good bedrooms,â Lloyd pecks your cheek before he turns to walk inside the mansion to calm down. âWe should head inside andâŚâ he looks at the still-open gate. âCan someone close the fucking gate?â
âSoâŚâ you press a cool pack to Curtisâs cheek, âRansom is the last brother or are there more of you?â
âYou canât get enough of us, huh?â Ari smirks. He bandages his hand while glaring at Lloyd sitting across from him. âYou didnât have to choke Andy.â
âYou didnât have toâŚâ Lloyd mimics Ari. âI do whatever the fuck I want to do.â
Jake and Mike keep out of their fight. They busy themselves watching Steve. The captain sulks in a corner while you play nurse for the brothers.
After offering a cool pack to Ransom and taping his split eyebrow, you took care of Curtis. âPress the cool pack to your cheek. It will help.â
âThank you, Sunshine,â Curtis sighs when you run your hand over his head. âYouâre the best.â
âAndy, no. We need to put something on that too,â you sniffle looking at Andyâs bruised neck. You carefully touch his skin. âLloyd, you should be ashamed of hurting your brother like that. This is not okay.â
âI said Iâm sorry,â Lloyd grumbles under his breath. âHe had it coming. Whatâs a good choking among brothers, right?â He flashes you a smile. âCome on, that one was funny.â
âNot if anyone gets hurt, Lloyd,â you tut. âI thought we wanted to prove to Captain Rogers that Iâm safe with all of you. The moment he set foot onto your ground you started fighting each other.â
Steve crosses his arms over his chest. He watches you and listens closely. This is his chance. If he can convince you that the brothers are dangerous, youâll follow him.

Hello fellow hoomans! Welcome! â¨
At this moment, my navigation is a bit under reconstuction (but my masterlist is right here), because I'm
RENEWING MY TAGLIST for the NEW YEAR đ
It's been a while since I updated it - many blogs don't interact with the works they are tagged in anymore, for whichever reason. Perhaps they left tumblr, left the fandom, don't like my writing anymore - no judgement, simply stating facts. Whichever it is, I feel like I do useless work tagging and people get unwanted notification (in case their tag is even working).
Please, if you wish to stay up-to-date with my writing, you have two options.
A) Drop me a message to let me know what you'e interested in! Tell me know which works you'd be tagged in. Steve Rogers? Marvel (which is mostly Steve, but hey)? Bucky? CEvans characters? Crossovers? I'll be happy to tag you! đ
B) Follow my other blog! - to which I will start reposting fics starting 1st January when the old taglist will be officially set on fire đŚâđĽ There will be only my stories reblogged on the blog, scout's honour, I won't be double posting all my reblogs and random stuff to flood your dash đ
Many thanks for your cooperation đ
May December be kind to you!

âEven more peculiar,â Andy whispers as the group of four step into the front door of their quaint cottage, only to immediately smell the scent of a delicious meal saturating the air. The mercenaries were unaccustomed to their home having any form of âlived-inâ smell, owing to their packed schedules and demanding occupations. For the majority of their days, they were so preoccupied with their current assignment that they couldnât even bask in the feeling of having an actual home for once. Hence, the fragrant aroma in the air was a pleasant surprise.Â
âSmells good,â Curtis comments as Lloyd swiftly moves to the bottom of the stairs, ready to eliminate whoever intruded on hisâtheir home!
âLetâs get this fucker already,â Lloyd snaps under his breath and takes the lead in the search upstairs. Behind him, Curtis nods back at Steve and Andy before splitting off silently by the staircase.Â
There have been many ambushes on their group, in part, due to their line of work but Steve has never been so flummoxed by an ambush attempt before. Was it even an ambush? It was difficult to keep such an alert mindset when nothing seemed overly suspicious. There wasnât any dubious tension in the air nor was there a haunting stillness about the environment, in factâ
âWhatâs that smell?â Steve questions, teetering on the boundary between alert and heedless.Â
âThe food?â Andy provides only to be met with a negative.Â
âThereâs something else in the airâŚâ
Another curious silence is shared between the two mercenaries as they traverse their living space. From memory, due to the lack of lighting, they gather that theyâve made it halfway through the living room already yet nothing has happened. Disregarding their muted steps across the wooden floors, their subdued breaths and the rustling of their clothes, thereâs simply nothing but stillness and peace in the air.Â
âNothinâ up here,â Lloydâs voice suddenly buzzes through everyoneâs earpiece and breaks the, somewhat, taut atmosphere. Both good news and bad news depending on who it was directed to, and whatever the hell was actually happening, âCurt and I are heading down now,â
âConservatoryâs clear, weâre moving to the kitchen,â Ari chimes in just as Steve and Andy pick up on mute footfalls making their way to the entrance of their cooking and dining area. The trio coming in from the garden entrance refrain from drawing attention to the peculiar sight of their clean laundry hanging from the washing lines. Even though it was bizarre, it remained a largely innocuous sight.Â
âIâve never heard of an intruder who does our laundryâŚâ Ransom had commented as Ari and Jake hummed in agreement beside him.Â
âTurned off the fire,â Jake helpfully inputs, indicating that his group have now entered the kitchen space.Â
âSo helpful, Jake,â Ransom sarcastically comments, the roll of his eyes obvious in his tone.Â
âIt could have been a bomb,â their technician argues back and barely resists the urge to raise his voice.Â
âA bomb that smells like stew? Thatâs a first,â
Before Jake and Ransom begin a petty fight, Ari silences them both with a well-placed, cold stare. Usually a gentle giant, along with Curtis, it wasnât common for Ariâs temper to make even a slight appearance, so whenever there was a small sign of it, everyone shut their mouths and righted themselves. It was difficult considering the majority collectively shared the same second gender (alpha) with Jake and Ransom being the only Betas, but thatâs why they were in such high demand. The majorityâs innate dominance and survival instincts worked in their favour. And, with Jake and Ransom to balance out the group as betas who dominated in their own separate skill sets, the groupâs services only proved more favourable. Combined, they were a formidable force and in high demand. It was unfortunate that their main clients were very unsavoury characters. This more recent one was their only decent client so far. Â
âSo thatâs what that peculiar smell is,â Steve comments, his shoulders lowering in disbelief and respite as he finally spots your bundled figure curled up on their living room sofa. Everyoneâs attention is drawn to their captain, his comment and loosened tone steadily releasing the tension in his group matesâ taught figures.Â
âAn omega?â Andy affirms with slightly widened eyes, âWhatâs she doing here?â an omega with a high affinity for magic⌠Andy resumes the thought in his head, remembering Jakeâs earlier analysis, and looks over at Steve, who shares his thoughts telepathically.Â
Light from the kitchen drapes a warm glow over your bundled-up form as a nearby window shines moonlight across your delicate features â the only thing theyâre able to see of you. Slowly, the group from the kitchen moved to stand in the archway through to the living room before splitting off to guard all exit points. No stranger was to be underestimated. With sharp eyes, they observe whatever little features theyâre able to discern from their separate vantage points. Their curiosity slowly rises but with their trust in Steve, their captain, and the religious practice of their routine operations, they find it best to stay back and let those closest to you handle the upcoming confrontation. Â
âWhat the fuck is this bitch doing in our house?â Lloyd materialises out of the darkness, his eyes and pinched expression indicating his rough intentions. The alpha doesnât discriminate between male, female, non-binary, second gender presentation, age, social status, occupation or anything remotely indicative of an individualâs identity because he merely doesnât care. If youâve done anything to offend him, heâs not going to stand for it â heâll beat you down until youâre eating dirt.Â
âSheâs small,â Curtis comments from behind his enraged mercenary partner.Â
âI donât care, she needs to go!â Lloyd reaches forward but his rough hands are pushed away by Andy, who effectively manipulates Lloyd back so that Steve can kneel by your head and shake you awake. Â
A large hand shakes your shoulder and forces you into gradual consciousness. For a moment, you rub your eyes and grumble tiredly before your current situation finally dawns on you and a gasp escapes your lips. Suddenly alert, you sit up and lock gazes with a beautiful blue set. However, you quickly realise that this handsome, clean-shaven blonde with the ocean in his eyes wasnât the only one present in the room. Your eyes connect with six other figures scattered about the space, who are openly observing your figure as well.Â
All the attention makes a heat rise in your neck as your heart begins to race. All of them were handsome in their own way and stood a great deal taller than you, with broad shoulders, muscular arms, slim waists and thick thighs. You canât believe men like this actually existed. Not even the knights patrolling the perimeter of the castle stacked up to the select few before you.
You finally look back at the blonde man in front of you, who has no space to say anything when you hurriedly blurt out your well-rehearsed, opening speech, âIâm so sorry, I didnât mean to intrude,â the blonde waits for you to continue, no longer appearing to want to say anything and allowing you to finish speaking, âI just really needed a place to stay and, perhaps, some directions to the nearest village tomorrow?â behind him, his friends look towards one another, silently conversing about the situation, âI-I promise I wonât stay longâŚa-and as an apology, I made you dinner?â your words rang with uncertainty. Biting down on your bottom lip was evidence enough of your anxiety. No intruder with the intent to kill would look so anxious over such a demure request.Â
But it could all be an actâŚ
âWell, I suppose we can accommodate you for the night,â Steve concludes with a soft smile as Lloydâs complaints get muffled by Curtisâ large hand. He didnât want to alert you of their operations, so itâs best to appear like a normal group of men living together peacefully in the forest, âbut Iâm afraid we donât have an extra room upstairs so youâll have to make do with the sofaâŚâ Steve isnât usually one to lose focus but finds his thoughts slowly straying the longer he looks into your eyes and observes the sparkling delight shining in them. His mention of allowing you to stay only seemed to make them dazzle more.Â
âOh! Itâs no trouble! Your sofa is very comfortable,â you chirp so innocently and happily that every man in the room gapes in awe of you. Lloyd is about to scoff at your aggregability but is cut off when you quickly hop onto your feet and rush into the kitchen, effectively interrupting his big, petulant display of displeasure. âIt seems like youâve all had a long day so you must be hungry, let me serve you dinner,â they watch as you pull a sheepish expression when approaching the stove, âI hope you donât mind that I used your kitchen and your food to cook,â
If youâre telling the truth it should bode well for them. Steve nods singularly at Curtis who immediately looks into their food storage to see if thereâs anything missing. When Curtis can confirm that there was produce missing, he returns Steveâs silent nod. This was a good sign, although it doesnât fully absolve you from a poisoning attempt â it would be even more suspicious if you used your own ingredients and feigned goodwill with the excuse of not wanting to âstealâ from their food storage.  Â
âAs long as we finally get to have a warm meal at home, you can cook up everything in our pantry,â Jake grins boyishly, which Steve mentally thanks him for. Trust Jake to break the ice and avoid any awkwardness with his saccharine charisma. The paramour of the group on missions is usually Ransom but thatâs for missions only â for instances like this that are off-duty and could likely lead to awkward interplay, Jake has just the right charm to keep things going in a good direction. Their magi-tech genius sometimes goes so far as to take the awkwardness on for himself and draw attention away from the rest of the group â itâs come in handy multiple times but Steve doesnât believe Jake sees this quality for what is. Ransom certainly does and takes full advantage of occasionally recruiting Jake for some of his machiavellian assignments.Â
As you potter about the kitchen space, the men take up their assigned seats at the long dining table. There was enough space for everyone, even you. As the captain, Steve naturally takes up the head of the table, leaving the only remaining chair at the other end of the table. Across each other, the mercenaries meet eyes, silently conversing and trying to convey their opinions of you. Theyâve been a group for so long that itâs not hard to observe everyoneâs standing. Jake doesnât seem to mind, in fact, heâs pleasantly surprised and happily accepts the circumstance. Steve, Andy, Curtis and Ari remain nonchalant about the situation, their feelings never really tipping to one side. Lloyd remains visibly irate whilst Ransom appears to have calmed down a bit, however, a disgruntled arch remains on his lips.Â
Steve can tell that everyoneâs exhausted. Even Lloyd. Their days are often very taxing so itâs hard to cook a warm meal when they get home. Ari and Andy are the only decent cooks among them but, by the time they make it back to the cottage, sometimes separately, they donât have the energy to do anything else other than converse about tomorrowâs steps forward. Every night ends with getting to sleep on unsatisfied stomachs and lingering displeasures, only to wake up the following day and do it again. This is all they know and itâs hard to break the routine. Everyoneâs accustomed to finally letting their guard down as soon as they get back home atop the exhaustion; they canât find it in themselves to openly protest or question their pretty, graceful little intruder like they know they should.Â
âLet me heat up the bread rolls for a bit,â you pipe up softly, turning to the group with a warm smile, âbut that gives you all just enough time to wash up,â they blink in surprise before most nod and oblige. Lloyd stubbornly stays in place and when Andy arches a brow at him, a silent question, Lloyd gives a short, snappy answer.Â
âShe canât be trusted. Iâm staying right here. Iâll go when someone else comes back and can keep an eye on her too,âÂ
Andy gives an understanding nod but doesnât move to follow everyone else to their upstairs washrooms. When you look upon the two with curious eyes and an adorable (though Lloyd would never admit it) tilt to your head, Andy offers a reassuring smile.        Â
âThere isnât enough space in the washroom upstairs for all of us to go at once so Lloyd and I will stay here and wait our turn,â
Accepting the explanation you return your attention to the bread rolls. Placing a damp but clean towel over the array, you open the oven and bend down to put the tray inside. Andy has the decency to avert his eyes but not Lloyd. He eyes your bent-over form with a snarl, determined not to fall for your innocent endearingness, clothed in a plain but complementary dress, covered by a cosy, cable-knit cardigan. Youâre not cute or pretty or worth his attention â he isnât a dunce and he wonât make a fool of himself over some woman. Heâs seen this show and dance before, the innocent, damsel-in-distress omega that needs help from an alpha. Itâs such a cliche display, Lloyd canât believe he hasnât openly disparaged your antics yet.Â
Andy, on the other hand, finds himself wishing for something like this to become more commonplace. Itâs a blissful dream he cherishes â to be able to have a love that he can come home to after a hard dayâs work and be spoiled by domestic bliss. Someone to bring flowers to, someone to work hard for, someone to look forward to seeing at the end of each and every day. Seeing you glide through the kitchen with the skirt of your dress billowing behind you makes him want to sigh in contentedness and dismay all at the same time. He knows he isnât the only one out of their group who wishes for stability and an easy life like this. Itâs impossible for them to even dream of this simple joy. But getting a small glimpse of this domestic life brings about an urge in Andy. It makes him want to push and fight to attain such candid happiness â something that feels easy and euphoric, his own paradise on earth, shared with someone special.Â
âThatâs your name?â you ask innocently, placing a large underplate beside the vase of flowers at the dining table before moving to retrieve a cloth for transferring the stew.
âYeah, Lloyd Hansen,â the grump confirms.Â
âHansen?â Lloyd tenses at your piqued interest. He remains taut when you turn around with your ever-present, warm smile, carefully lifting the crockpot of stew over to the table.Â
âWhat about it?â Lloyd snaps defensively, ignoring the warning clench of Andyâs fingers over the slope of his shoulder.Â
âI just knew a very kind man named Hansen,â you sheepishly admit, hurrying to gloss over the topic at the sight of Lloydâs inquisitive brow raise. Introducing yourself simply, you then turn your attention to Andy, who also introduces himself in return.Â
âMy name is Andrew, Andrew Barber, but everyone just calls me Andy,âÂ
Lloyd snarls when you lie about it being a pleasure to meet them but is swept away when Andy roughly pulls out of his chair. The others had begun to filter back into the dining room. It was the pairâs turn to wash up and head upstairs as they distantly heard you introduce yourself to the rest of the group behind them.Â
âLet me help you with that,â Ari helpfully sets the table with you as the others take their seats once more and introduce themselves one by one. The bearded, giant of a man smiles faintly when you thank him for his assistance, finding that he rather enjoys seeing your smile and prettily beaming eyes directed at him â even if itâs just for a second or two. âIâm Ari, by the way,â You smile at how lovely his name sounds and freely tell him so. He seemed shocked at your vivacious demeanour but doesnât comment on it, happy to indulge in your refreshing mannerisms.Â
Steve was the clean-shaven blonde that sat at the head of the table; you assume heâs the big man in charge despite his much gentler appearance compared to some of the other characters sitting about the table. Curtis is the gruff-looking one who politely takes off a woollen cap to reveal his buzzed hair; you gauge that heâs the silent, observant type. Ransom is unlike the others in his fashion, dressed in a comfy, cable knit sweater; he looked approachable but there was something about him that made you second guess yourself. You donât quite know how to feel about that. Lastly, there was Jake who grins freely and seems a little more energetic than the others around him. His good mood is contagious and helps you feel at ease.  Â
Everyone watches as you take out the bread rolls and go about the table, carefully placing a roll on their side plates, your smile never dropping. The rest were placed in a basket at the table within everyoneâs reach. Plenty were left so you reassured them that they could grab another if they were feeling extra peckish.Â
âThank you,â Steve voices sincerely as everyone eyes the delicious meal laid out before them. One by one, they had begun serving themselves a portion of the beef stew you had thoughtfully prepared. It was all from the same pot so they plan on waiting for you to take the first bite, avoiding a sly poisoning attempt. âItâs been far too long since weâve had a warm meal to come home to,â
âItâs really no trouble,â you smile down at your lap, taking a seat at the other end of the table, âitâs the least I can do for your kindness in letting me stay the night despite being a complete stranger,âÂ
Everyone observes your words and actions with great care. They have an eye for deceit; Ransom has taught them all about the common tricks he plays to earn the trust of those they need to fool on missions, however, nothing about your actions so far appear fraudulent to them. It was strange. Perhaps itâs because theyâre trained to think this way that they have such lingering doubts about your innocence.Â
It isnât long until Andy and Lloyd return to the table and fill their bowls too. âApologises for the delay,â Andy is the only one with the decency to express his regret, Lloyd simply grumbles under his breath.Â
You donât seem to catch on to their plot of watching you take the first bite and wait for any adverse side effects to occur before they can deem the food safe enough to consume themselves. Thankfully, you taste the bread roll and stew all at once, dipping a piece of the roll in the stew to taste together. Thatâs all they needed and finally allowed themselves to savour the bliss of having a homecooked meal after a long, hard day of work.Â
Lloyd hates to admit it but he appreciates the hearty dinner. Itâs an indulgence he happily dismisses his earlier wariness for, wanting to enjoy the meal to the fullest. He can get back to being bitter about the situation and you, later. Curtis manages to smile modestly at the warmth the stew fills him from within. Itâs been so long since theyâve indulged in such an innocent, domestic pleasure. Perhaps you were a blessing in disguise, put there to quench their deprived existence. Andy, again is given a soothing balm to soothe one of his deepest desires â a happy home. He finds heâs unable to look up and face you, knowing that his expression will leave him and his yearning vulnerable to everyoneâs criticisms. Jake and Ransom meet eyes across the table and grin at each other. As the only two betas, they have a more intimate kinship between them and both can tell that the other is incredibly satisfied with the situation. Yes, they have petty fights but they agree on a lot of things too, this tasty meal being one of those things. It didnât start off ideal but this was a repose everyone had been craving. And they were more than eager to indulge in the moment too.Â
Steve observes everyone at the table with Ari. They understand that the type of occupation they have aligns with a lifestyle that typically doesnât have this type of scenario playing at the end of every day. This is surely something they would cherish for a long time. As time passes, they slowly realise how misplaced their judgement and wariness were. Finally, they can relieve themselves of that burden and fully enjoy the rare evening.    Â
Slowly regaining their strength throughout the meal, everyone settles down and begins to ease up for the night. The chatter fluctuates, sometimes itâs loud, sometimes itâs quiet but everyone goes for seconds and thirds before you can even get through half of your plate.Â
âSo how did you get here?â Trust Jake to ruin the mood in such a way. Itâs the obvious question on everyoneâs minds and was asked it in the most innocuous tone possible, only to be met by the most awkward silence to ever fall over the group as everyone turns their focus on you. Â
You contemplated telling them the truth or not. These men deserved your honesty but you donât know if it would result in further danger, your stepmother had a lot of magical artefacts nobody knew about; you canât make careless decisions. And you werenât about to risk yourself or these kind menâs safety so you go for something in between â a half-truth, â...I ran awayâ
âFrom what?â Ransom demands in an almost threatening tone. Heâs back on the defensive, along with Lloyd, the two of them eyeing your shrinking form disparagingly. Jake, seeing the reaction of his teammates, feels immense guilt for having put you in a difficult situation and looks to the only person he trusts to placate the tension, Steve. Â
âCalm down, Ran,â Steve sends him a warning glare despite his level voice.Â
âNo, I think he has a point and if sheâs going to stay the night then I think weâre owed an explanation,â Lloydâs eyes donât leave you, his gaze fixed, cold and untrusting.Â
âI uhhâŚâ you begin to get nervous. You donât want to reveal that youâre the princess but youâre feeling the pressure from all the attention atop Lloyd and Ransomâs demands. Everyone can see that youâre fighting with yourself and expect you to finally confess to something. However, rather than reveal the truth or lie further, you go for the third option, ââŚI-I think I should just goâŚâ with a weak smile, you get up from the table â free to do so without protest as the mercenaries are either shocked or vehemently glaring at Lloyd and Ransom.Â
Your bowl of beef stew is only half eaten and your bread roll has a few bites left in it. Nobody can meet your eyes as you hurriedly cross the dining room to the living space with your head down and take back your basket from behind the sofa you fell asleep on. You donât bother with collecting the perishable foods you had stashed in their cool storage, thinking it a lost cause. For the final time, you look at them through the large archway connecting the living space and dining area, âIâm so sorry for the intrusion but thank you for letting me stay this long. Please enjoy the rest of the food. I umm⌠I baked some banana bread and made whipped cream to have with for dessert,â youâre about to turn and leave, bidding them farewell when youâre stopped by a mountain â Curtis stands in your path, blocking your escapeÂ
âTheyâre being pricks so their opinions donât matter,â his voice is much more gentle than you imagined, âyou can stay,â the bearish man takes advantage of your hesitation and leads you back to your seat with a large hand on your lower back. He pulls the chair out for you and tucks it back in as you sit down again. You canât meet anyoneâs eyes, the tension in the air, still too high.
âYou can stay regardless of whether you tell us your reasoning or not,â Steve voices, meeting your gaze kindly when you snap your head up in surprise. Itâs obvious to all parties (except for Lloyd and Ransom) know that you donât mean them any harm so theyâre happy to let the incident pass and offer up their home. It isnât even their permanent residence, only the one given to them by their employer on the conditions of their year contract.Â
âRansom and Lloyd are a little possessive but their rough edges arenât very dangerous,â Ari offers, the insight on the two characters no longer seems necessary after the interactions youâve had with them. However, it was reassuring for it to be said aloud by someone, âJust ignore them, we all doâ his kind smile beneath his thick beard urges you to offer a hesitant one in return.   Â
Ransom eyes Andy who doesnât acknowledge his obvious glare. As the negotiator of the group, Andy was well-equipped with the skills to weasel some admittance from you but he clearly has no interest in getting any sort of information. Andy remains a silent observer. Heâs aware of Ransomâs dismay but doesnât acknowledge him, making the manâs stare turn icy. Too righteous Ransom scoffs in his head. Everyone knows about each otherâs past. Clearly, Andy was still especially soft around women, those who were gentle and kind, the homey type, omegas especially. You were the perfect image of that so thereâs no hope of Ransom ever getting Andy to do anything.Â
Great, just great, the pathetic, sappy asshole. Lloyd grumbles internally, he was a witness to the silent interaction between Ransom and Andy, and had arrived to the same conclusion. Their negotiator isnât budging. The only person able to influence Andy would be Steve but you have their captain wrapped around your little finger too. Hopeless! The lot of them! Â

Dieter gets bitten by The Viper (figuratively)
(Dieter x horror loving female)
Words: 572
Summary: Dieter acquires a new piece of clothing, a rather famous piece of clothing⌠Inspired by this post
Warnings: mild swearing, mild spicy suggestions, references to Game of Thrones including spoilers that are ten years old, Dieter being Dieter
Check out masterlist here
âDieter, what did you do?â
The look of guilt on his face was so readable that no amount of Oscar winning acting could hide it.
âHoney cakes, remember this was a charity auction.â
âHow much did you end up buying?â
âIt was just the one thing.â He put down the box that you somehow only just noticed, possibly you were too distracted by those puppy dog eyes. âAnd I didnât go over my intended limit.â
âWell good, I donât want to have to rethink our already reasonable wedding budget.â
âI did however pay twice the intended target price.â
âWhat?â
He took off the lid, revealing a stunning gold material embellished with even more golden embroidery.
âItâs a shame I already have my wedding suit because I would love to wear this.â
âIs thatâŚ?â
He nodded, âYup, itâs the robe that handsome guy from Game of Thrones wears.â
You looked at him in surprise, âDieter, youâve never seen an episode of Game of Thrones in your life.â
âI tried,â it was like a child trying to be brave. âEveryone said Iâd like it because itâs very sexy. But I watched the first five minutes, and it scared the ever-living crap out of me.â
You tried to remember what happened many seasons ago, âOh yeah, it was pretty scary for you.â
âI know. But people say I say I kind of look like him,â he shrugged. âI donât know why; I donât see the resemblance.â
âI see something familiar in the gait.â
He lifted the beautiful robe out of the box, the embroidery shimmering as it moved. âNow honey cakes, I donât have a robe.â
âYou have several bathrobes in various colours.â
âYeah, but I donât have a fancy one I can just lounge around in feeling spectacularly melodramatic in. Maybe with one of those long-handled cigarillo things.â
âI donât have a problem with you getting one.â
âReally?â
âReally really. Although those feathersâŚâ
âYes, the feathers. All the more reason.â He held the robe up against himself. âDonât you think Iâd look good in this? Then we could pretend thatâŚI have no idea, what does he do?â
âHeâs a prince whoâs bisexual and he spend a lot of time being a big slut.â
Dieter gasped, âOh my god! Heâs me! Does he end up with that dragon queen?â
âNo, he doesnât last the season and dies a very memorable death.â
He gently put the robe back into its box. âWell, weâre not doing that.â
âNo, it sort of dampens the mood.â
âCan you be the dragon queen?â
âYou think I could pull off being a queen?â
He looked as if heâd just been insulted, âOf course you can be a queen. Youâre my queen and Iâm your prince.â
âYou donât want to be a king?â
âNope, quite happy to be the prince that worships his queen.â He started his initial worshiping, starting with your neck.
âDieter,â you paused his wandering hands. âYou canât wear the robe when youâre doing the worshipping.â
âFuck no, not with what I paid for it.â
âJust look pretty in it then take it off.â
He smiled, âI can do that.â
Very gently, he led you towards the bedroom, leaving the box on the coffee table.
âWait, youâre not going to wear it now?â
âWell, we havenât worked out a roleplay and I really want to get to the worshipping,â he picked you up bridal style. âDieter horny.â
âFair enough.â
