Here, have a bunch of headcanons bunched up into one!

Maybe there was a bit of conflict between Wammawink and Zulius early on because of leadership, and it went something like this

Wammawink with her trauma of losing her old herd

—Wanted to feel in control

—Had been planning this for a while

—just wanted the opportunity to make up for not being able to save her old herd

—Worried that if anyone else were in charge, she would lose her herd all over again

Zulius needing validation after losing his fame and dignity

—Wanted to feel in control

—Felt super confident that he could do this

—He felt kind of humiliated that he was being challenged by someone younger than him

—Could sense the overbearing energy radiating off of her

They negotiated

—Zulius would be more like “metaphorical” uncle than a leader

——Ended up being more of a mentor than an uncle for Durpleton 

——More of a hot teacher than an uncle for Ched

——Glendale saw him as an uncle the most out of everyone, but it was more of a sibling dynamic (though neither of them ever thought of it that way) and he was definitely a funcle)

——They all still had their moments when they viewed him as the uncle

—Zulius would take charge always when Wammawink wasn’t around

——The lines got a little more blurred as the rest of the herd got older and Ched started feeling like he should have some power 

———Glendale usually didn’t feel the same way, but did feel like Wammawink had quite a bit of power sometimes

———Durpleton didn’t feel this way at all. He didn’t ever question authority

—Wammawink would adopt everyone in the herd (not legally, they were already in the dome at this point so they did not have access to a lawyer)

——Not Zulius, he was older than her 

——Durpleton was happy to get (metaphorically) adopted. He loved Wammawink and always wanted siblings. He was also the first to give her a mother-like nickname (which was Mamawink)

——Glendale was slightly resistant and weirded out at first, but eventually came to accept Wammawink as her mother

——Ched was very resistant, since he was a bit close in age to Wammawink, but he talked to her about it, and she eventually got him on her side and he loved her as his mother

—Wammawink would do the providing for everyone, including Zulius
