New Slave *CLOSED with ceneridisperanza*
Aoi fell to the ground the second the whip hit his back. He whimpered loudly as the old woman stood over him. She continued to whip him harder and harder. He continued to cry out in pain as more and more blood streamed from his back.
He was used to this cycle, shutting his eyes as he felt blood pool under him. He looked like a whipped dog more than a teenager. He felt his tears drip down as the horrible woman continued to whip him.
Why.. he wondered. Why did his grandmother hate him so much? He did nothing wrong and was often very nice to her. He was the most polite person he knew, but she didn't care.

Hi Nenilein. I read a theory of how Yu has this touch of sociopathy/psychopathy going on (The Mask of Sanity: Persona 4 as a Psychopathy Simulator) and I do consider it an unintentional response to the game mechanics mostly. What is your thoughts about the article and even aspects like Yu's 'plainness' and stuff like that.
Iāve seen a video about that one once and found it really interesting, though I agree with you that, yeah, this is probably just a side-effect of how the game mechanics work. Yuās portrayal in everything other than P4, where heās a silent vessel for the protagonist, is by far to empathetic and emotional to give this theory credibility, heck, even his dialogue options in P4 itself sometimes seem rather sincere (then again, itās perfectly possible for people to pretend being that sincere, of course).
Personally, Yu always struck me as an upright, but withdrawn young man who tries to make a good impression on first glance but has a lot of really eccentric, sometimes downright odd character traits that he only shows once heās more comfortable. Iāll admit Iām mostly deriving this interpretation off the Anime, but it does fit well with a lot of his dialogue-including game appearances as well, for example, some of his dialogue and internal monologue in PQ and P4D makes it seem like heās very aware of his own eccentrics and worried that the things he says might come across wrong to people who donāt know him well. Then again, maybe thatās just me projecting myself onto the protagonist of P4, so who knows-
Yu is clearly meant to be a rather flexible personality that is very much open to interpretation, precisely because he is a protagonist. We are supposed to be able to project ourselves onto him, regardless of how weird or plain we are ourselves. Now, his portrayal in the spin-offs might make this a little less possible than his voiceless appearance in P4 itself, but think that the spin-offs still did a good job writing a character who can be seen in many different ways and is not too distinct, but still likable and far from perfect. I personally enjoy in how many ways the character can be read. Even if you do read him as a Sociopath who treats his whole life as a dating sim and only pretends to be caring and loving.
Of course, theĀ āsociopathā interpretation sort of makes an appearance in the Versus-Mode of P4U2: Shadow Yuās battle quotes very much do paint *him* as a sociopath who only manipulates the ones around him into caring for him, while not actually giving a damn himself, which implies that canonically Yu at very least has a strong fear that he actually is like this. Itās interesting to see how the way many people interpret this character also happens to be the way the character himself, in canon, is afraid of being, deep inside.Ā

āYou... You look exactly like me. That is not normal at all.ā he stated, his eyes squinting in disbelief. There was nothing that could explain he was facing himself. And the theory of a clone or a lost twin was just too fantasist for him, there was no way these situations actually happened. Which is why it made no sense that the person in front of him was perfectly similar to him. If he were a celebrity, it could have been someone impersonating him, but he was probably the less known person in this city. So who the hell was this guy?
āWho are you?ā

ceneridisperanza:
He let go of his grip, giving her some space if only for a bit.Ā "Perfect," he replied as he wrapped his arms around her before letting go and taking her hand. He lead her into a gray desolate park. The grass was dying and it was too cold for any sort of flower to bloom. He sat on a bench and tapped, telling her to sit next to him.

He tapped onto his smartphone while heĀ stated, āYour apartment is not far from here. Didnāt you want a place that was rather simple?ā
She was quiet throughout, her gaze shifting rapidly as they ventured fourth into the park. It was a shame, she thought-- A place once filled with greenery and life now inhabited an environment suitable for the decayed and broken. Mahiru's eyes widened at his gesture, shrugging her shoulders and taking a seat on the other end of the bench. She crossed one leg over the other, olive eyes diverting towards her hands in her lap.

Ā Ā Ā ".. I do. I never wanted some extravagant home. I don't need all that space-- Suitable living conditions is all that I see necessary. Unlike other people, I'm not greedy."

This was what the third time that the analyst was lost but this time he was really lost. No where in his journal had anything about this location he was currently in.
Keep calm. Iām sure someone would be able to help me. Otonashi exhaled as he continued to walk around the unknown area, maybe heāll bump into someone that would be able to point him in the direction he thought would be better besides.
āMatsuda-kun would be wondering where I am...ā

āIt saddens me that ceneridisperanza hasn't had any limelight thrown their way! I feel that the world they've created for their Nagito Komaeda is extensive! They've put a lot of thought towards their muse, and the mun has got to be one of the most mature people I've ever met.ā

Opposite Alternates [closed starter for ceneridisperanza]
Komaeda had left Hope's Peak Academy for winter's break, going by to his empty mansion. It didn't make a lot of sense for him to go back to this huge and austere house he had completely deserted when he went to Hope's Peak Academy, especially with all the sorrowful memories it contained but he missed the town where he had lived for so long, even though there wasn't anything waiting for him there. It was known to be a dangerous place now even though he couldn't fathom why; there wasn't so much violence a few years ago. However Komaeda didn't fear to visit the town again, even if someone attacked him it wouldn't be that much of a problem. This was the main reason why he was wandering in the streets, slowly going back to his mansion in the cloudy dusk.
Ah indeed that wasn't very wise of him since he was pretty sure right now that someone was following him, it was easy to find out when the sound of footsteps stopped when Komaeda slowed down, and quickened when he began to run. Umm it could very well end in a pretty dangerous situation, and even though Komaeda was almost assured he wouldn't risk death with his luck he'd rather not end up in the hospital again. They wouldn't let him leave easily with his diseases, and would probably ask about the treatment he didn't bother to take. It would be annoying, really, so to avoid any harsh attack from behind by the one who could be either a robber or a murdered, Komaeda turned to look at them, intending to address directly the other and ask them what they wanted. Maybe he could avoid a trip at the clinic.
However as soon as he turned on his heels, he was greeted with the sight that seriously took him aback: in front of him was a man who looked exactly like to him, at least in figure. He had the same wild discolored hair, they possessed the same features and now this was getting disturbing. They were so similar someone could have called them twins, and Komaeda wasn't understanding at all what it was. Was it some pathetic prank to mock him? He didn't really minded if it was, but it was far too elaborated to be a mere petty plan to make him freak out. Nevertheless, Komaeda wasn't frightened, more half amused half dumbfounded. It was right the situation wasn't usual, almost funny with how low the probability of having a doppelgƤnger and meeting him was.
Suddenly remembering he should at least talk to his double, Komaeda shoot him a peaceful smile. "Ah may I know your name?" the question was pretty silly in itself but he had to make sure this person really was one of his alternates.

Honestly.

ceneridisperanza liked for a starter::
Everywhere, through each step, was filled to the brim of absolute dread. There wasnāt a necessary task of seeing or hearing something in order for the stoic detective to sense that dread. Those footsteps became clear and the pollution of the air made it difficult to breathe, at times. Behind these events, the puppeteer who pulled the strings was in front of her. It wasnāt difficult to put the pieces together when his hands are thoroughly tainted with dread, from head to toe. Speaking with him would be utterly pointless, meaningless perhaps, though he hadnāt made his first move. That never excluded for her guard to be lowered because ofĀ his gestures.Ā āIs there a reason for you to approach me? I donāt believe what you have to say will be useful.ā
#ceneridisperanza#( i figured of setting this for your main verse. )#( also thanks for liking the starter call! )
