Celty (Bunny version) from Durarara Cosplayer: @_mandehh Photo : @katsudamnn_cosplay Katsucon was not my very first convention, but it was the very first convention I cosplayed for. Because of that, Katsucon has such a special place in my heart. I love the community, I love all my friends and mutuals I gather with every year. It’s something I hope everyone gets the chance to experience at least once !! I think we can all agree the best thing about Katsucon is the convention center. Beauty aside, the Gaylord is such a distinctive venue that draws so many people from across the country to its infamous Gazebo.

Katsucon is by far my favorite convention, I’ve been coming to this convention since 2017 and each year the attendance & crowds have grown. I only worry that a day will come we all outgrow the Gaylord and will have to relocate, but I hope not! This year, I really wanted to pay homage to some of the animes I grew up watching. All my cosplays this weekend are from an anime I fell in love with during a time when I was younger & really getting into anime. Durarara!! was at the top of my list, so of course I had to do my favorite character from the series, Celty. The biggest difficulty was definitely having to cover a bunny suit entirely in caution tape and duct tape. Thankfully with help from my best friend and an extra pair of hands the process was fairly seamless. Pun fully intended. I was surprised my character was recognized at all to be quite honest! My favorite responses so far have been ones from people who also expressed their love for Durarara!! and while we all may not have watched it in a long time, it was a nice reminder of a series so many people love.

you know what I think would be a really funny but impractical cosplay?

You dress up as Celty, but you wear Dio hair and face makeup so you can go "You expected a hot anime girl, but it was me Dio!" And then you take off your Celty helmet and reveal your Dio face makeup

What's the most harlot-y outfit you can muster for cold weather? I get uncomfortable over 60 f so all my harloting does Double duty for cool weather too

oh trust me ill push through freezing weather with short shorts and a crop top anyway, ill just wear a big jacket on top. however an overcoat and knee high boots also creates a completely different harloty look so it works. also gloves bc my fingies get cold lol.

but i mean this also depends on how long ill be outside. if im going somewhere thats indoors anyway (usually the case for winter) im only really going to be outside for a few minutes? so no big deal. but if i happen to be taking the metro or something i might want to layer up.

nobody asked but here are my personal headcanons about Vorona

– Vorona eventually starts vaping, Shizuo is not happy about this (he knows better than anyone that smoking is bad) but who's he to judge? plus he likes the smell – eventually Vorona starts working in film industry as a stunt woman, this was Kasuka's idea

– this led to her and Shizuo barely seeing each other, until one day he offers her moving in together with him which makes it better, they still don't see each other every day, but it's much more often – Vorona is a very good stunt woman due to her physical abilities and combatant skills, but is a horrendous actor (got small role offering once) – Vorona isn't bothered by Shizuo's smoking, almost all men surrounding her from childhood were heavy smokers, including her dad, and it wasn't even good stuff – Vorona made Shizuo have a sparring with her, he barely attacked her directly at the beginning, but started to do so when she successfully dodged all his moves and managed to get him on the ground (using his lack of technique against him), both had fun – She doesn't like dresses or skirts due to them being too revealing during fighting. When she's wearing them, she's challenging herself to fight with her hands and torso only (not fighting is not an option obviously) – Celty eventually warms up to Vorona when she realizes she means no harm, just like Shizuo she's kinda flattered with admiration of her power and also she finds Vorona's way of talking similar to the one she once had – they're bonding over bikes – Tom tried to lure Vorona into manga, but got overwhelmed by her amount of questions about weird stuff from there (like the amount of fanservice and sus stuff). He's still recommending her some stuff from time to time, but now the quality bar is in the skies – Vorona has plenty of knowledge about cooking and even knowing some receipts by heart from books, but isn't this good on practice (mostly she gets frustrated every time recepy says like "50 mins in oven on 180" but it ends up being not enough or way too much) – Erica once dragged Vorona into cosplay and even got her wearing sexy outfit but got disappointed by her inability to smile for a camera – Vorona cuts all ties to her family and it's name, Shizuo was thinking about getting a blessing from her old man, but it never happened – Vorona never had an official name, she wasn't officially registered anywhere in her country, all her documents are fake. After she moved to Japan she decided to stick with her fake passport name for all legal actions – Shizuo never calls Vorona by fake name, even on their wedding, dude pretends he doesn't see it every time some docs need to be filled in

Finally getting around to uploading the other pics of my Celty cosplay! This set was all sht by my wonderful partner.

The framing of the lights on the paramount were just amazing. I think K has some more in his phone too, we'll see.

I'm honestly just so happy with how this turned out! I look forward to refining it in the future.
