Wolf is a fighter, and similar to Falco, he very much expects to still be in the cockpit by the time the rest of Star Wolf’s members have aged out, retired or, god forbid, passed away. Whether Star Wolf still exists, or in a shocking turn of events, has blended within Star Fox, O’Donnell expects to be the old blood of the team, raising his claws to his enemies until his dying breath.

Because of this die-hard nature, Wolf doesn’t see himself particularly interested in having children. Having a kid would mean settling down, stopping all the chaos, and finding a real job planetside. Fact is, he’s far too selfish to do that, he’s having way too much fun being a badass space pirate to ever stop. Kidnapping, moving contraband, eliminating targets, escort missions, thievery, stripping space crafts, any of the jobs that Star Fox won’t take--at least publicly--are a blast for our favorite lupine.

It’s in Wolf’s character to try and do right by the people he cares about, the people he keeps around in his life. And while I don’t plan on having him reproduce in any plots that are considered “canon” for this blog, it’s still very much a topic I’d love to explore with his muse and my RP partners!

Fatherhood. Wolf O’Donnell as a dad. To many people’s surprise, he’s actually quite good with children. He knows how to keep them smiling, and keep them happy. He’s not really the awkward oh-god-please-don’t-make-me-hold-this-I’m-going-to-break-it type. He’s not sure where this skill came from; he grew up as an only child, he never took any babysitting gigs and didn’t really find himself hanging out with people that much younger than him. (Those close to him wager that it’s because he’s such an emotional person; he’s not the type to block out any kind of emotions and thus encourages children feel comfortable and safe enough to remain open near him... But no one is really sure, it’s all just speculation.)

Originally, I had planned on granting Wolf a son. And while wanting to maintain the Star Fox universe’s “””clever””” naming schemes, I didn’t really think “Wolf Junior” flowed very well. Beyond that, I know there is a prominent OC in the Star Fox community named Wolf Junior that, you guessed it, is Wolf’s son. So I steered clear and instead went a little deeper. Eventually, I found Weylyn, which means: son of the wolf. Instantaneously, I fell in love with it. It’s unique enough that I don’t feel like I’m blatantly copying someone, it has a relevant meaning, and as the cherry on top, the name has Celtic origins. Which is a major bonus for me because that’s an ethnicity and culture that I headcanon is quite recognizable within Wolf’s family -- at least on his father’s side.

Then I started playing around with the idea that he had a daughter instead, and, I don’t know what it is, but the idea kinda stuck with me. I latched to the imagery of the big bad wolf having a little princess that he wants to protect, love, and cherish. It’s just such an endearing and sweet thought, that this tough, gruff, mean man can be so tender and soft and protective towards a little darling girl... He will drink her pretend tea in a frilly pink dress and he will adore every fucking second of it.

So!

It’s my headcanon that in another verse or an AU (or whatever terminology that doesn’t mean Wolf’s main story...) Wolf and his partner--you are all welcome to participate with your muses if you’d like!--are expecting a child. They were anticipating a boy, and settled on Weylyn. But to Wolf’s surprise, a little girl was born instead! Wolf chooses to keep the name, and she wears it with pride. When people find out what her name means, they all make fun of her because her father thought he was going to have a boy. But in her eyes it is a means of strength, the name of a champion. She is a princess, but she’s a fighter.

And Weylyn’s legacy will soon outgrow son of the wolf.

Oooooh I really like the question! :D

I thought I would have written the ideas out as some point, but it seems like I never got around to it. So here are the animals that I think my characters would be! ^^

Ireland - Red fox: I know a vast majority of people associate Scotland with the red fox, but honestly for me, it makes more sense to see Ireland as a fox. The fox is often treated as a nuisance and as a pest that needs to be eradicated… a bit like how the English historically treated the Irish! :D Perhaps that’s a bit too much on the nose, but a lot of comparisons have been drawn between the foxes and the Irish. I also headcanon that the oldest human name Ireland would have had was “Crimthann”, which is an old Irish name meaning “fox”. I just like connecting Ireland with the fox. ;w;

Scotland - Red stag: As said before, a lot of people tend to associate Scotland with the foxes… however, I’ll raise you the idea of Scotland being associated with red deer. Especially the red stag. :D It’s my personal interpretation, but I always saw Scotland as being someone who is extremely proud and also tries to give off an air of noble courage. So yeah, the stag always felt like a better fit for Scotland.

Wales - Badger: This is probably a bit of a strange choice (as most people probably see Wales as being either a dragon or a sheep), but I kind of found that the badger fit Wales more personality-wise than any other animals. There’s the belief that badgers, if cornered, will lash out and bite the other in the leg and keep tightening their grip until they hear the bone snap. If you were a human in this case, your best course of action would be to grab a stick and break it in half, tricking the badger into believing that it had broken the bone and letting go. Obviously this is a complete myth, but the attitude attributed to badgers in the story really makes me think of Wales. A solitary and relatively passive animal, but if cornered the badger is a force to be reckoned with. There are also other aspects of the badger that I felt fit Wales, such as the digger trait and the endurance and determination of a badger.

Northern Ireland - Hedgehog: I’m not sure if this choice seems very predictable. ;w; But yeah, the hedgehog seems to be a perfect fit for Northern Ireland. There’s his prickly attitude that is Northern Ireland’s best defense and very often he just wants to curl up and be left in peace. So aside from the protective aspect of the hedgehog, some other attributes connected with it that also match up with Northern Ireland is perception and intuitiveness. He can be pretty perceptive, more than his brothers realize.

Now for the other OCs, I’ll freely admit that I didn’t develop them nearly as deeply. However I will still share what I think they would be as animals.

Isle of Man - Cat: Yeah, I based myself a bit on the Manx cat breed, but I also feel Isle of Man’s personality fits into that of a cat pretty well. He’s quite calm and enjoys his own space, while still placing himself in a position where he can keep an eye on the others to make sure they’re alright. X) He has a bit of a standoffish attitude, but he’s definitely not unapproachable.

Cornwall - Hare: Hmmm I’m not as convinced of this choice, but Cornwall is one of my most nervous OCs and that kind of reminded me of a hare. Other traits that are generally identified with the hare that I thought fit Cornwall are swiftness and vigilance.

Brittany - Otter: I feel a bit more certain of this choice compared to Cornwall, since I think the otter fits Brittany pretty well! Otters appear in Celtic mythology as good-humoured teachers and protectors. There is also the fact that the otter is often thought of as a “water dog”, which implies their devotion and loyalty to family and those they cherish the most. So… values that fit Brittany perfectly! ^^

seamus at twenty-two is much the same as seamus at seventeen ( and fifteen, and twelve ).

he gets by with a little help from his friends.

he’s stubborn and opinionated, but those traits only come out in times of stress & confusion. mostly, he’s a good laugh: fan of the kenmare kestrels, a cheeky pint & some top tier banter.

he doesn’t have a plan ( he doesn’t even have a pla- ). seamus’ hobbies don’t transfer to any particular occupation, save for being a bartender or quidditch pundit. he feels a little lost, watching everyone find their place in a world where he’s just getting by.

he misses school, when all he needed to do was crack a few jokes, light a few cauldrons on fire & chat shit with his best mates.

expect numerous invites to the leaky cauldron pub quiz, where he’s truly in his element as the tipsy quiz-master.

also expect the surprising depth you can only get from being a bartender, listening to people’s woes day in & day out. he’s a loyal listener.

Body Build: Thin, fragile, lean, wiry, nonthreatening. Undernourishment impacted her growth, causing her to be shorter and lighter than many other children her age. She’s gotten quite good at finding food for herself and Cain, though, so she isn’t terribly unhealthy nowadays (though she still struggles at times, especially during the colder months). She is often mistaken as younger.

Notable Physical Traits: Lots of faint freckles, especially on her face and forearms. Patches of jagged scar tissue on her neck from where it was hit/cut by debris (this is usually concealed under part of her cloak). She has several other serious scars on her arms and lower legs from the day her village was destroyed. There are more serious scars on her knees from an accidental stumble down a rocky hill. Headcanon | 04.

Lily’s patronus ||

So while the books say Lily’s patronus was a doe, I don’t like that at all. I think it ends up tying her personality into James too much ( it’s almost always mentioned “james and lily potter.” we get very little canon info about lily herself, and i can understand why -- harry relates more to james, but i feel as if it’s a disservice to lily as her own independent person ) So, it’s important to note that MY lily’s patronus is a fox

The WHY:

Foxes are very clever -- there’s a reason why they’re described as wily, cunning even. Foxes generally symbolize the ability to think quickly and adapt, and in Celtic mythology symbolizes cleverness and wisdom. Depending on the lore in other cultures, foxes are also associated with the after life and protection from evil.

Foxes also symbolize a gentle and kind nature, and willingness to be crafty in necessary situations.

Foxes are most commonly seen in association with the sun, representing desire, passion, intensity and expression. Though the fox is most commonly seen as a trickster, the fox in mythology encourages “thinking out side the box.” In this case, foxes are often seen as “bad omens” and sometimes associated with dark magic ( a subject which lily is greatly interested in ).

When a fox hunts, it’s entire body is pointed like an arrow, straight and tightly-aimed, indicating determination, strong will-power, and a powerful focus. Some of Aesop’s fables show foxes as cunning individuals, who often have to teach humans to overcome fear ( particularly of the unknown ). Foxes are small animals, but are powerful in their own right, and often project a large presence. Ultimately, foxes are a symbol of magic.

Vixens ( female foxes ) are extremely protective of their young, and are surprisingly loyal to them. A mother protecting her kits can become very hostile towards the threat and are more than willing to sustain injury or death if it means protecting their young.

Foxes symbolize sexual energy, feminine magic, and fertility. Foxes are also associated with shapeshifting, cleverness, feminine courage, persistence, gentleness, swiftness, diplomacy, wildness, adaptation, protection, and being a provider.

Keith Headcanons!

These are not going to be in any kind of an order.

· Keith used to check under his dad's bed and his bed for monsters because he wanted to catch them.

· The boy cannot wink to save his life. Whenever he tries he ends up blinking.

· For one Halloween, Keith dressed up as the killer bunny from Monty Python and the Quest for the Holy Grail. He thought it was the greatest thing.

· (From another post of mine) He took gymnastics because he aspired to be Dick Grayson.

· He loves to decipher codes and messages and such as is really good at it, this fueled his love of learning languages.

· He speaks fluently in Klingon, Elvish, Korean, Japanese, English, Latin, Celtic, he learned Atlantian from Atlantis: The Lost Empire, and the last language he was teaching himself was Spanish.

· He has always been sensitive to energies and has seen and spoken to spirits before, effectively scaring the shit out of his father.

· Shiro and him were actually "cousins" before becoming brothers. I put cousins like that because Keith's dad was never actually related to either of Shiro's parents. Shiro's mom just always claimed Keith's dad was her brother.

· When Keith's dad died he was really young, he was 7. Shiro's mom wanted to adopt him but at the time she was sick and couldn't really take care of him on top of caring for Shiro while Shiro's dad was away (Shiro's dad was a pilot at the Garrison.) So Keith got put into foster care. By the time Shiro's mom got better and was finally able to track down Keith to adopt him, he already went through hell in the various foster homes he was in and he was no longer that joyous excitable boy she and Shiro knew before.

· He was officially adopted by the Shiroganes when he was 13.

· His father died when they went to visit the shack they owned. Keith's dad liked to disconnect from society sometimes and take Keith to go look at the stars out there and it would be their annual Father, Son time. During that time his father realized they were running low on food and told Keith he would be right back. He never did come back and Keith was waiting for his daddy to come back for two weeks.

· Mrs. Shirogane was the one who called the cops when Keith and his father didn't come back when they usually did. When the cops found Keith his was living off of expired foods and very little water. They found Keith's Father far from the shack in a ditch. They came to the conclusion he must have fallen and hit his head. Keith calls bullshit on that when he gets older because his dad knew those hills like the back of his hand and he would have never fallen.

· He had a pet bat at one point. He didn't know it was a bat and his dad freaked when he found a bat in one of his sons drawers in his closet.

· He also had a pet fox when he lived with the Shiroganes. They didn't know about it since he tended to visit it out in the woods. He even bought it a collar and everything. This time when his pet was found out, Shiro was the one to freak.

· He named the bat, Man. So he would tell the kids at school once he found out his "bird" was actually a bat, that he had a bat named Man. It was the bat, Man.

· He named the fox, Cleopatra. When Shiro asked him why, he responded with the straightest face, "she's foxy Cleopatra."

· When he was 6 he dressed up like Robin, sequin shorts and all, while Shiro was Batman.

· Keith has pulled a home alone, his father accidentally left him at home when they were supposed to go on vacation with the Shiroganes. He rigged the whole house. He didn't catch any robbers though, he did however give his father a concussion and a broken leg when he came back to get his son.

· He loved Scooby Doo. His favorite Scooby Doo movie is Alien Invaders.

· He was one of those kids that made Ninja stars out of graph paper in class.

· He was also that kid that picked up forgotten pens and pencils, even stole a few, just to sell them back to people.

The Kitsune Lore & Facts

This post was written together with @nalia-tsukino and @ruki-mukami-dl (vampire parts). It is a mix of actual kitsune legends, Diabolik Lovers' lore, and things we have come up with on our own. It is used as a base for Yuriko's canon story and both Rukiko and YuuNa RP stories. It is also the backstory both Nalia's admin and I use for our RPs on Tumblr. About Yuriko

Yuriko is a kitsune from her mother's side. Her parents sealed her kitsune side with blood magic combined with Vibora venom, and she didn’t know about her heritage until Mukami Ruki broke the seal by taking her blood regularly. But even before that, she dreamed about a mysterious forest and a white fox who was revealed to be her big brother, Yuuto.

The History of the Kitsune

The kitsune are divided into two races: Zenko (善狐) and Yako (野狐)

Both are of the same origin. The very first kitsune were created by the goddess Inari. They used to live in the Kitsune Realm, a parallel world alongside the Human World and the Demon World. With the increasing population, they divided into different paths, and the clans of the Zenko and Yako were born. After a civil war over land, the Zenko made a deal with Inari, promising to serve as her messengers, while the Yako allied with the Founders of the Demon World.

In the end, Zenko stayed in the Kitsune Realm, now called the Zenko Realm and the Yako ended up moving into the Demon World because they were promised land there.

However, kitsune blood turned out to be very delicious and even addictive for certain demons, which led later to conflict between the Yako and other demons. At this point, the Yako were so tangled up with demon politics and society that returning to the Human World didn't seem an option. They stayed and formed their own set rules they live by these days, too.

Being sometimes hunted by other demon races, the number of the Yako has grown smaller, stirring up deep hate, especially against the Vampires and the Vibora.

To make their situation better, Yako elders decided to grow the numbers by kidnapping Zenko maidens as brides for their males (the Yako have fewer females than males because females were hunted more). Some of the maidens were taken after they reached adulthood (18 years old) so that they could be married instantly and produce much-needed Yako offspring.

To avoid another war, the Zenko looked for a peaceful solution to protect their females. All portals connecting the Zenko Realm with the Human World got protection tied to Zenko's blood. Now, the Yako, humans, or other beings could no longer find the portals and enter the Zenko Realm. Only kitsune or half kitsune with Zenko blood were able to use the portals. However, Yako, humans, or other beings could pass the portal accompanied by a Zenko.

The Yako didn't give up and approached the Zenko females in the human cities and villages and kept kidnapping them.

Of course, the Zenko reacted to this and formed a kind of police. Their task was to monitor the portals connecting the Human World with the Demon World and follow the entering Yako. Since then, the kidnapping had stopped.

Every now and then young adult Yako sneaks into the Human World to have some fun, but this is tolerated by the Zenko.

The Kitsune Facts

The kitsune are intelligent beings with a long lifespan. If they live long enough, they can grow up to nine tails. A healthy kitsune can live for about 1000 years. Half kitsune don't get that old. They have a lifespan of about 600 years. Only with the attainment of the third tail they are recognized as adults by the elders.

Family relationships are important and above everything else. The family will decide the fate of its members and can heavily punish anyone who doesn't obey.

For the Yako, females are rarer than males. So, the Yako don't accept marriage between kitsune female and male from another species. Though there have been cases of human males unknowingly marrying a Yako female, who can be a devoted wife. If the human eventually discovers the kitsune's true nature, the Yako wife is usually forced to leave him. It is possible that the kitsune relatives come for the Yako wife and children. The Zenko, on the other hand, allow these types of marriages.

Due to the deal with goddess Inari, the Zenko take care of her shrines. The males serve as priests there. Each shrine has its own portal through which the priest can reach his house in the Zenko Realm where he lives either alone or with his family.

Most Zenko live in the Zenko Realm, but some live and work in the human world.

Houses in the Zenko realm aren't that big, sometimes even tiny, and built and furnished according to traditional Japanese style.

The kitsune's human form can vary but most of them have yellow eyes.

Humans and the kitsune can have children which are half kitsune. Most of them have yellow eyes but sometimes they can have their human parent's eye color too.

It is possible to seal the half kitsune's fox side with blood magic combined with Vibora's venom.

The Kitsune Fur Colors

Typical Zenko coloring is white and red (white being usually the main color), though sometimes other colors appear too.

Typical Yako coloring is yellowish or brownish, but orange-red isn't uncommon, even white appears every now and then but it's rare.

A white and blue combination is very rare for both.

Skills

High sense of smell — Kitsune's sense of smell is good and they can sometimes even smell the mood shifts of the other person. Most of them don't like using perfumes and such because those can be too strong for their sensitive noses.

High sense of hearing — Kitsune's sense of hearing is good, especially when they are in their fox form.

Faster healing — Kitsune blood allows them to heal faster than humans.

Higher pain tolerance — Kitsune can take more pain than humans.

Shapeshifting — Due to their human-like lifestyle the kitsune spend most of the time of their lives in their human form. All kitsune can change to their fox form after learning by will. It's also possible to bring out only individual body parts like fox ears or tails.

Kitsunebi, the foxfire — Young kitsune's fire doesn't burn. They love to play tricks with it. Older kitsune can turn their fire into burning form and are able to defend themselves with it if they are threatened. They can attack too, but the kitsune avoid fighting and they tend to use their fire to trick the opponent and search for an opportunity to escape. Each kitsune has a different fire color. The very first kitsune were able to change the color of their fire. Over centuries and due to the circulation, this feature was lost more and more. Only the heirs of the very first kitsune's bloodline own it. However, not every one of them who carries it is able to use it. Strong feelings and emotions are necessary triggers. With the altered flames, a kitsune is even able to kill vampires.

Dream walking — Some kitsune can walk into the dreams of others and if they meet another kitsune they can talk there. They can't talk with humans in their dreams but they can show up themselves. However, in a few rare cases, a kitsune can talk to another one or a human in their dream. For this, a very strong emotional bond between them is needed.

The In-between — Kitsune who are able to walk into dreams can create their own dream-like space. They can pull in relatives or other kitsune with which they have a strong bond. How the space looks depends on the said kitsune.

Illusions — After obtaining the third tail, kitsune can learn the skill to create illusions.

Note: Usually, half kitsune has weaker skills than full kitsune but even half kitsune's skills can grow stronger eventually.

Kitsune's Star Pearls (Hoshi no tama)

Glowing pearl which is believed to contain foxfire (kitsunebi) and part of the kitsune's soul.

Usually, the pearl stays within the kitsune and isn't in physical form but the older kitsune are able to separate the pearl from their bodies and carry it with them in their mouth or on their tail.

The pearl can be used to possess other creatures if the kitsune is able to fool them to swallow the pearl. In this case, kitsune's own body falls asleep while they operate through the possessed body.

In the past, there have been more cases of kitsune possessing humans or other supernatural beings but that gave them a bad reputation, and these days it's considered highly rude behavior, and there are kitsune who want even to make possessing others illegal.

Using the pearl has its risks too. If the other person doesn't swallow it but keeps it as their property, the kitsune is tied to that person until they get their pearl back or are able to trick the person to swallow it.

The Kitsune and Sexual Energy

Sometimes kitsune can be seen as a seductress/seducer and in a way, their characteristics remind vampires or succubi/incubi.

They gain energy through sexual contact but they can't live by just that and that way they are different from vampires who can survive with mere blood or succubi/incubi who feed themselves only by sexual energy.

Snatching energy from the sexual partner causes tingling, an enjoyable feeling that fills kitsune's body and mind, heightening the pleasure they get through intercourse or other sexual actions with the partner. It's mentally and spiritually refreshing but also causes growing stamina.

After a sexual encounter, the kitsune might feel more awake than usual and be unable to sleep hence the energy coursing in them.

This sensation can be intoxicating, making the kitsune yearn for more. Similar to alcohol, energy snatching can lead to addiction. However, this happens rather rarely, because the kitsune know the danger and are usually cautious.

The rougher the sex, the more energy is snatched because the intense friction and the stronger mental reaction of the partner cause more energy flow.

Kitsune might also form a romantic relationship and be highly devoted to their partner, wanting only the said partner's energy through sex. Being in love with someone ties them to that partner's energy much more intensively than casual sex with someone.

A sexual encounter with a kitsune isn't dangerous to the other party but can be more tiring than regular sex.

When having regular sexual encounters with a kitsune, a human needs to sleep a lot and eat healthily to regain the lost energy.

Kitsune don't gain energy from each other this way which is why they might be intrigued to seduce humans or other beings.

However, sexual encounters with vampires are different. While a kitsune snatches energy, the vampire gets it back by sucking blood. Both experiences heightened enjoyment but the energy balance stays the same as it was before.

In a sexual encounter of half kitsune, the energy balance remains unchanged. What one partner takes, the other gets back. In this case, both can enjoy their heightened pleasure but are exhausted afterward.

The Kitsune Mating Season

In general, Kitsune have a high sex drive.

Twice a year this is additionally increased. In spring from mid-April to mid-May and in summer around July is mating season due to their inner fox nature.

Due to mating season and fox features the chance to get pregnant is much higher in mid-April to mid-May and July than the rest of the year. Human origin is responsible for normal human chances of getting pregnant over the rest of the year.

During this time, it is difficult for a kitsune to concentrate on other things. Their thoughts are all about sexual encounters. Especially teenagers suffer because of a special season.

However, adults are better able to control their needs and instincts.

As humanity has evolved, so have the Kitsune. Nowadays, similar to humans, they use protection to avoid excessive offspring and unwanted pregnancies.

How to Reveal a Kitsune Who Is in a Human Form

Drunken kitsune can't necessarily keep their human form and might change into their fox form accidentally.

Other supernatural beings (like vampires) can smell kitsune's natural scent. This doesn't obviously force kitsune to change into their fox form but reveals their true nature nevertheless.

Some kitsune hate dogs and become even aggressive if there is a dog nearby, some can stand dogs better but are still a bit anxious. The kitsune might leave quickly when encountering a dog.

Trivia

Kitsune's skills are tied to their blood.

The blood is rich and thick if the kitsune is healthy.

If the kitsune is sick their blood quality lowers and it's hard for them to use their skills.

Kitsune blood tastes sweet for vampires and can be addictive and/or intoxicating.

If a vampire enjoys kitsune blood regularly their tolerance will grow and the blood doesn't have as strong an intoxicating effect as at first, though it still tastes sweet.

Founders find kitsune blood sweet too but, because they are stronger than vampires, the blood isn't addictive or intoxicating for them.

Vibora's venom can null kitsune's skills for a while. While the venom doesn't kill kitsune it makes them vulnerable because they are magical beings and not much of physical fighters.

The goddess Inari is able to create new kitsune by turning humans into either full kitsune or half kitsune. These belong to Zenko due to the deal.

Amycus Aldrich Carrow

Amycus; Amykos, Latinized as Amycus, in legend was the son of Poseidon and the Bithynian nymph Melia. He was a boxer and King of the Bebryces; killed ina boxing match.

Aldrich; A name meaning ‘a wise and aged ruler.’ With such a name, his family expects and predicts great things of their boy. He will one day be powerful, so very strong.

Carrow; “Carrow” in Norfolk, or “Carraw” in Northumberland. The first is assumed to have its name derived from the Old English word “carr”, meaning “rock”, and a word of Celtic origin; “hoh”, meaning “spur of a hill”.

REASON FOR CHOSEN CHARACTER

I’ve played Amycus for, about a year’s worth, on and off, and I enjoy him because he’s his own person but also has the ‘dynamic’ of having a twin, and living/making decisions not only for himself but sometimes for the both of them, or having them being treated as ‘the same’ by others, because they are twins. Like, it’s interesting to have a character so closely linked to Amycus. And I love exploring his family dynamic bc he’s one of the characters that doesnt really have a ‘set’ past in canon, so there’s so many different ways he could end up because of what his life was like as he grew up.

Amycus could say his childhood had been. Interesting. Born the male of a pair of twins, he was favored, and it wasn’t hidden. He was given the love and attention his sister was denied, and the words that best described his as a toddler were ‘spoiled brat’. He grew up learning he could have whatever he wanted, and that ‘no’ didn’t really mean ‘no’, not to someone with power and money like him. Though his parents weren’t entirely interested in raising children. They wanted an heir to the family and had no time or patience to deal with a growing child, let alone two. A lot of Amycus’ childhood was spent playing his sister and hiding from his tutors and nannies.

Amycus was very young when he realized what the world was like. His father had never been a pleasant person, and the nights he would drink were the nights the whole family suffered by his hands. He and his sister learned the world was ‘dog eat dog’, and many dog eaters looked like humans. They learned to be vicious and bare their teeth at others. As they got older, they learned it wasn’t enough to look scary; you had to be scary. They must pit themselves against the world or die trying. Fear of his father and reality of the world drove Amycus to learn to defend himself, in anyway he should need to. Amycus learned to defend himself, he needed to be the monster he was afraid of, and very readily embraced it.

Amycus learned to be vicious, as did his sister, but didn’t learn to hide it behind polite smiles and good manners as she did. The words that best described him as a young teen were ‘cruel monster’. Amycus was mean, he was a sadistic monster that choked kids until their eyes pleaded with him for their lives, whose pranks turned from mean letters to disemboweled pets as Christmas presents. The voices that coo words to him in his head remind him what a monster he is. Sometimes, the voices are quiet, and Amycus is never sure whether he’s glad for the silence, or is afraid of it.

Amycus has dragged himself down into a rotten little hole now, which he knows will one day make his grave. His time in school in Slytherin house led to him to making friends with other ‘bad’ children, and is where he found his interest in the Dark Arts. Now working with the Death Eaters, Amycus has found a place where he feels more accepted, though he still garners dirty looks with his bloodied hands and maddened grins.

Amycus will sleep with whomever says yes. He’s not picky by any means whatsoever. Sex is sex, after all. A means to an end. Amycus identifies loosely as a cis-male, and prefers he/him pronouns but also answers to they/them as he’s used to being addressed as a pair along side Alecto. If he had the information, he’d probably identify something closer to agender, but as that’s all very abstract and not widely shared information at this time, he’s simply content with being called a male.

-Amycus is surprisingly good at memorizing spells, and knows quite a few charms and curses, more than the average students learned at Hogwarts. He’s had a few private tutors at the behest of his father, and read quite a few books on magic in his spare time. He’s very good at martial magics, and can sustain a Fiendfyre for quite a long time without losing it’s control. -Amycus is photosensitive, and often gets migraines from being in the light for too long. Thus, he prefers being a night owl, or at least avoiding being outside, especially if it’s a sunny or bright day. He likes keeping his room and as much of the house dark as he can, which makes the place look pretty gloomy. -Due to very little social interaction beyond his sister as a child, Amycus has a hard time understanding sarcasm, and often take’s other’s opinions in a very ‘black and white’ way. He thinks people either like him, or hate him, and there’s no in between. Also, people are either angry with him, or enjoy him; he has a hard time knowing if he’s upset people, and struggles to read into tone of voice and other social cues. -Amycus is rather paranoid about noise, and enjoys the quiet. He very often moves around to avoid noise, and is easily set off into distress or anger over loud noises. He’s most afraid of the sound of footsteps, as it reminds him of the sound of his parent’s coming down the halls of their home as a child. -It’s more likely than not Amycus lies somewhere on the Autism Spectrum, but his parents only considered him a fussy child. Even he doesn’t think he’s autistic, mainly because mental illness is stigmatized and not talked about, especially among wizarding communities. -Amycus has schizoaffective disorder, and cycles between intense depressions and manias. He suffers from auditory hallucinations that started to develop during his time in school, and soon after he started having visual hallucinations, though those are much more uncommon to him. -Amycus is a very physical person and enjoys being able to touch objects or other people, but understands personal boundaries. He won’t continually touch those who’ve expressed discomfort about it. When idle, he often likes having something to hold on hold onto, or to be held himself. He wears heavy jackets often, even in the heat, because the weight of it on his shoulders is comforting. -Amycus usually has his wand up one of his sleeves strapped his his forearms; mainly to his right as he’s a left handed person. He also often carries a switchblade on him. Amycus often wanders off into the Muggle parts of town, and fighting with a knife leaves less clues to point back to him than using magic against them. Though due to his temper, he’s been known to try and stab anyone who upsets him, even other wizards.

IN CHARACTER QUESTIONAIRE

♔ If you were able to invent one spell, potion, or charm, what would it do, what would you use it for or how would you use it? Feel free to name it:

“Some kind of…Weaker Cruciatus maybe. I mean, hey, a good Cruciatus is great. But sometimes you only need a little, something to push someone off the edge. You have to stop a Cruciatus to get people to talk. Something a little less strong, you could torture them and get ‘em to give up whatever you want. Wouldn’t that just, be great?”

♔ You have to venture deep into the Forbidden Forest one night. Pick one other character and one object (muggle or magical), besides your wand, that you’d want with you:

“Alecto, obviously. But it’d probably be her fault, why we’d be going into the Forest anyway. And bring. Well, besides my wand, how about Alecto’s wand? It doesn’t work the best, for me at least. But it’s something, isn’t it? And it’s not my wand so it’s not breaking the rules, huh? Twins don’t count.”

♔ What kinds of decisions are the most difficult for you to make?

“Very, puzzle like decisions. Where people want to trick you with their words. Saying one thing, meaning something that’s not what they said. People make things so much more complicated than they should be, almost all the time. Bullshit.”

♔ What is one thing you would never want said about you?

“That I’m the worse twin. Just look at Alecto. I’m even, better looking. There literally can’t be any way that I’m worse. I’m very obviously the better twin. Who would even think twice about it? Huh? Even Alecto knows, I’m the better one. Though she won’t admit it. Which makes her worse. She’s too up her own ass to see it, really. ”

WRITING SAMPLE

—Amycus hissed and withdrew his hands from the piano when it shocked him, looking over his shoulder at his father. “Start over.” Darius replied, leaving Amycus to quietly turn back to the piano and begin the piece again. The boy got tripped up at the same spot, and was shocked once more by the piano. He bit his tongue to keep from whimpering, and without being told started from the beginning. The third time he was able to play it, but only a few bars past made another mistake. He yelped when the shock hit him, and this time he turned to look at Darius. “Father.” The man stopped his pacing to stare at his son, and Amycus did his best not to let his voice falter, “Please, I-It’s very hard to continue learning the piece if I have to start again at every mistake. I w-won’t get good at the end if I only play the beginning, sir.”

“If you paid more attention to what you were doing, perhaps you wouldn’t have to begin again so many times.” Darius quipped back, leaving Amycus deflated. He bit his tongue again and gripped the piano bench tightly. After a few moments he turned back to the piano to continue playing. The nine year old could only endure the harsh treatment for so much longer, and after about another half hour Amycus stood abruptly after being shocked, the piano bench scraping across the ground. He stood with his hand balled into little fists, tears in his eyes and just beginning to tremble. “Sit down.” Darius warned with a hiss.

“No!” Amycus snapped back, glaring at his father with teary eyes, “I don’t wanna play anymore!” The boy began storming away to the door, and just before he reached for the handle he was thrown to the ground harshly, landing on his side. “I said sit down.” Darius had his wand raised and slowly moved to stand over his son. Amycus was crying by now, getting back to his feet slowly.

He stood there and hung his head, and just as his father began to speak again, Amycus shoved him as hard as he could and bolted out the door. Darius stumbled back a bit and almost fell in surprise, then snarled and yanked the door all the way open to storm into the hall. “Amycus!” He screamed at his son, who was just barely scrambling down the stairs out of sight. Amycus made it to the front hall, fumbling with the locks on the door. When he opened the door he only got one foot outside before he ran headfirst into his father who had Apparated in front of him.

“Where do you think you’re going?” Darius hissed. Amycus sobbed, crying out when he was dragged back to his feet by his arm, feebly attempting to pull himself from his father’s grip as he was dragged across the marble floor in the front hall. His feet scrambled for purchase as he tried to stop his father from dragging him, screaming and tossing himself around like a trapped animal. Amycus was close to hyperventilating now, body shaking with fear as he desperately tried to escape his father. His head turned at the creaking of a door and he saw her there; Alecto stood in the door way, expressionless and staring. Blank empty eyes looked into his own as he began pleading for Alecto to help him, but his pitiful cries seem to fall on deaf ears as the girl didn’t so much as blink as her brother was dragged through the basement’s door.

Amycus knew what an Unforgivable curse was before any of his friends.

—Amycus stormed past his mother as he walked through the front door of the Carrow Manor, dropping his suitcases with a harsh clatter and climbing the stairs two at a time, quickly making his way to his room. He slammed the door behind himself and moved to stand in the middle of the room. He shook with anger, his nails biting into his palm as he made white-knuckled fists. It’s not fair. Why couldn’t he stay? All of his friends got to stay at school over break, but he had to go home. Amycus stormed to his dresser and swept his arm across the top, knocking everything to the ground and letting anything glass shatter. It’s not fucking fair! Why the hell should he be home? He fucking hated it here, and both his parents knew it. The boy strode to his desk and threw the chair aside, throwing the journals and books to the ground and chucking the inkpot at a wall. Ever since he began attending Hogwarts, Amycus had loathed returning home for winter vacation, and especially for summer vacation. He never wanted to be home anymore. He never wanted to be around his father.

“You’re upsetting your mother, if you insist on throwing a fucking tantrum like a child, I’ll-” Darius yelled as he swung the door open, and a picture frame very narrowly avoided his head and shattered against the wall behind him. “Fuck you!” Amycus screamed, grabbing a book from the shelves next to his desk to throw at his father as well. “You fucking wanted me home! I’m here! What the fuck did you expect, father?” the boy’s tone was mocking, and he shrieked with pain when hit with a Cruciatus Curse. The fourteen year old crumpled to the ground writhing in agony as white hot pain shot through him.

“Don’t you dare speak to me like that you ungrateful mongrel!” Darius snarled at his son. Amycus could only scream, the pain terribly overwhelming. The Cruciatus Curse was more powerful the more hatred the user felt. The pain made him want to black out. The teen laid on the floor struggling to breathe when the curse was lifted, making no move to get up when his door was slammed close. Amycus laid on the floor for another hour, his body aching too much to move.

One night soon after, Amycus waited until late to leave his room, to make his way down to the kitchen. He grabbed the biggest knife he could find and took the back door into the yard, walking across the wet lawn in the moonlight. He grimaced at the sting of the cold, only wearing his pajamas and socks in the freezing weather. It took most of his strength to push open the door to the stables, and it took no time to walk over to the stall. Amycus stared at the horse, looking at the medals that decorated the wall behind it. Father’s prized racing horse. The stall door was easy to open.

Amycus said nothing as his father walked into the dining hall, staring the man down as his father stopped dead in the doorway. He watched the color drain from the man’s face as he looked at the crudely butchered horse that was strewn across the entirety of the long table. He sat back in his father’s chair, giving his father a cold and hateful stare. “Merry Christmas, father.”

Amycus always got the best gifts at Christmas time.
