To think... one year ago I ran for the first time ever. I was so scared to do my first ever 5k. Ran my first half marathon this Sunday at Celebration, FL with she who has run many half marathons, Linda. It was Celebration's first half marathon too, so we all were having inaugural experiences. 

We decided to run as Russell and Kevin from Up, which was a blast, especially once more children and teenagers saw us and began recognizing the costume. Otherwise we were the girl scout and the cool hat. We did our packet pick up on Saturday. It turned into quite the adventure, when my google maps routed us to the town hall near Celebration and instead we got the behind scenes tour of WDW, including the daycare, the credit union, the delivery loading zone, etc. Apparently google had routed us to Magic Kingdom's Town Hall and was taking us the back way to drive in. If we had been in an English sitcom we would have driven right onto Main Street, USA and had the trolley car ringing its bell at us to move. After we corrected our route we made it to the Town Hall in Celebration and picked up our packets with no issues. Then we spent the day at Epcot.

On Sunday we headed to the race around 5:30AM for a 7AM start, which was nice. They had 2200 participants running the half and full marathons. Mary was our support team and brought a blackboard and chalk markers so she could change out her sign. Genius! The one that made everyone laugh was at mile 2, which read "You're not almost there." Along the more dull part of the route Celebration had posted all these signs to keep us entertained, including the one in the photo above. We also laughed at "Do or do not. There is no try" and "At least we're not like Disney and making you wake up at 2AM."

We did have one pit stop which took a little longer than we would've liked (long line), but otherwise managed to finish and not feel awful afterwards, which is awesome. Now it's time to plan the next.
