Cecil Brakenbury - The About Post

cecil is a year younger than the pirate, so they could be around 13-15 years old. the armada found them about a year before the actual events of the game and cecil kind of worked their way up the ranks until it’s like “i’m one of you now!” and everyone else is like “i forgot you existed but sure okay” (the backstory is a bit of a work in progress) cecil isn’t exactly the best villain, if anything they’re just a little kid who got too much power and is way too over their head. cecil likes to tease the pirate and their crew, but if anyone else tries to insult cecil back, they get really defensive. they love to fight others, especially the pirate and their crew, and that’s the main reason why they’re an elite in the first place, their determination for fighting and willingness to do orders. now that cecil is an elite, they don’t really do much unless it’s to fight for kane, or just fight in general. they have their own ship, and a very small fleet of armada soldiers because god forbid they get an actual army.

to sum them up, they’re a saturday morning cartoon villain that actually has power and will beat the shit out of you unless you’re an armada elite

their relationships with the other elites are varied.

kane: cecil respects him, and at times sees him as some sort of father, but not usually, and doesn’t always do what kane wants them to do. they’re quite lazy. kane is usually the one to correct cecil on his stupidity (because let’s be honest cecil is type that can’t read. because they can’t)

queen: they don’t like her a lot, since cecil is the complete opposite of “proper and fancy” and queen (in my opinion) is all about being proper and fancy. they’ll get into arguments with her quite a bit, but most of the time cecil avoids her.

rooke: cecil’s relationship is pretty good. they really like rooke, because he’d probably break them in half and they 100% respect that, and also rooke occasionally lets cecil on his shoulders. they like to feel tall, since they’re 5 feet tall.

deacon: oh god does cecil love hanging around deacon. because they annoy the ever-loving shit out of him. deacon despises cecil, but very rarely lets it show since he likes to seem professional, but worry not! cecil can totally push him over the edge and get a very angry lecture. 8 minutes is their record!

bishop: this is a strange one. since bishop is the tinkerer but also a witchdoctor i’d say he knows how to treat wounds. kane also knows, since let’s be honest what DOESN’T kane know, but he’s too busy to actually do it so cecil is sent to bishop about every hour or so. it interferes with bishop’s work and it pisses him off so much. but sometimes it’s nice because cecil is there to listen to bishop and sometimes it’s calming for him to tend to cecil’s wounds, just to get a bit of a break from whatever he’s usually doing.

phule: these two are the worst when they’re together. words cannot describe how much shit they’ve broken. cecil and phule are the closest thing to being friends. if cecil is not fighting the pirate or whoever kane wants dead, they’re just casually hanging out with phule, and finds him funny at times. they like his tragedy/dark side a little more than his comedy/light side better, just because they find his cynicism to be really entertaining. if cecil and phule weren’t a part of the armada (and if phule wasn’t, like.. a broken robot) they’d probably be really good friends, maybe even siblings, who knows? half the time they’re like, best friends and half the time one is laughing at the other because the other did something wrong and got yelled at (or at least a very stern lecture)
