Since a large majority of the staff absolutely despises Cuphead, they found a way to get back at him for all his pranks, and that is—

referring to Cuphead and Christine as a couple.

They noticed that Cuphead is not interested in any romance or the love life in general, so why not tease him by referring to the person he argues a lot with as his girlfriend.

Ever since then, it became a running gag in the Casino that the two are a couple, which is why they're pretty much stuck to each other (its a more convincing disguise rather than being a regular local at the Casino).

Do the two act as a couple? No, they refuse to. For them being stuck to each other is enough, let the rumours do the job for them.

Take note Cuphead is suffering from all of this while trying to get on Christine's goodside by being kind and helpful to her.

IM NOT CHRISTINE.

I don't even have that much romantic interest in Cuphead at all, I used to during quarantine but now I don't. He's just my favorite character and I personally kin and relate to him.

In fact, his story/arc in Wilted Ivory au is based off my own experience because like what I said: I kin Cuphead.

The relationship aspect we're currently exploring in Christine and Cuphead's side of the story is their platonic relationship (and tbh im more interested in their platonic relationship more than I am in their future romantic relationship)

All I just want to do is to tell a heartwarming story of two bitter people with cold walls finding safety and security within each other and improving as they go on their day (and were still at the very start of that story)

And I want to do that through a character I kin a lot.

I don't want this to be just seen as an oc x canon thing, I want this to be seen as a comfort story for bitter people like me and give a sense of hope that it's not too late.

I don't mean "its not too late to fall in love" or "get into a relationship" — no.

What I mean is, its not too late to find a person you can find safety, security, and comfortability in, whether platonically or romantically, like Christine and Cuphead.

Christine just loves singing and reading bed time stories to Teacup so the lil cup can sleep. Now with her new work life, she has help with the cupbrothers who also like to tell Teacup stories before she sleeps. Teacup would get beautiful and mythical tales from Mugman, comforting made up stories from Christine, and Cuphead rambling to her about his old adventures making sure she has a good dream about a good adventure.

How Christine puts herself to sleep is just tossing and turning around her bed. If that does not help, then she stares out of the window watching the stars shine brightly with the city lights.
