Beschreibung: Tribute Concert to Pino Daniele mit Special Guest Bruno Ferrara

Raffaele Quarta Band featuring Donato Miroballi spielen ein Tribut-Konzert mit Liedern der italienischen Musik-Legende Pino Daniele. Der aus Neapel stammende Gitarrist, Sänger und Poet hat eine Mischung aus Blues, Folk, Funk und World Music mit Texten auf Neapolitanisch und auf Italienisch geschaffen. Nach zahlreichen Hits und Kooperationen mit weltberühmten hochkarätigen Musikern ist er 2015 im Alter von knapp 60 Jahren leider sehr früh gestorben. Jeder Italiener weiß, wer der "Uomo in blues" [Mann im Blues] ist. Seine Musik ist wie eine Tätowierung auf den Noten der Popa Raff Band. Diese veröffentlichte 2018 bei Sowiesound Records die CD "Iside Dea Luna", die am Abend auch präsentiert wird und ausschließlich aus Kompositionen vom Bandleader Raffaele Quarta besteht.

Pino Daniele repräsentiert in Italien einen gemeinsamen musikalischen Nenner für mehrere Generationen, den jeder Italiener liebt. Unsere nichtitalienischen Freunde und Fans werden mit uns einen musikalischen Abend erleben, der ihnen die italienische Kultur näher bringt und eine echte Kulturbrücke schlägt.

Als Sohn eines Hafenarbeiters brachte er sich als Autodidakt das Gitarrenspiel bei und entwickelte eine exzellente Technik. In den späten 70ern begann seine Solo-Karriere. Seine Musik definierte er "Tarumbò", eine Kombination aus Tarantella, Rumba und Blues. Mit 22 Jahren veröffentlichte er bei EMI sein erstes Werk "Terra mia" [mein Land], das einen guten Erfolg hatte, besonders mit "Napule è" [Neapel ist] und "Terra mia" sowie "Na tazzulella e cafè" [Ein Tässchen Espresso]. Ein Mix aus Folk, Blues, Protest und dem markanten neapolitanischen "Sentimento" [Gefühl], das den Mittelmeer-Künstler während seiner ganzen Karriere begleitete. Mit dem Album "Pino Daniele", speziell mit dem Titel "Je so pazzo" [Ich bin verrückt], gelang Daniele der Durchbruch. Er blieb sich immer treu, obwohl mehr Jazz in sein Songwriting kam. Lieder wie "Chi tene o mare" [Wer das Meer hat] sind sehr modern, auch dank des Beitrags seines Geistesbruders und Tenorsaxophonisten James Senese. "Il mare" [Das Meer] mischt Tarantella-Jazz-Rock mit Protesttexten gegen Arbeitslosigkeit und zieht eine Parallele zwischen der Diskriminierung der Süditaliener und jener der Afroamerikaner. Musiker wie Simple Minds, Chick Corea, Alphonso Johnson, Wayne Shorter, Frank Gambale, Richie Havens, Geschwister Brecker, Pat Metheny, Al Di Meola, Eros Ramazzotti und Eric Clapton gehörten zu den Künstlern, die mit unserem Pino zusammenarbeiteten.

Julinko Julinko nasce nel 2015 a Praga dalle visioni musicali poetiche oniriche di Giulia Parin Zecchin. Nel 2015 viene pubblicato Hidden Omens, edito in casseta per l'etichetta ceca Stoned To Death. L'album raccoglie sette brani arrangiati e registrati insieme a Carlo Veneziano (One Dimensional Man, Robox, Orfaust), polistrumentista e membro costantemente attivo nel progetto. Nel 2016 esce Sweet Demon per la sarda Tiny Speaker, disco registrato e prodotto sempre in formazione duo. Secondo le parole di Antonio Belmonte di Rockit, un lavoro che “procede magneticamente per contrapposizioni immaginifiche quali luce/tenebre, sogno/realta, vita/morte, bene/male come all’interno di una densissima nebbia corvina occasionalmente squarciata da bagliori di luce.” Nel 2018 l'ep Ash Ark (pubblicato da Ghost City Collective) si affaccia ad un approccio solista, più sperimentale, aperto all'improvvisazione, significativamente lo-fi … “incorporeità, drone, voci che arrivano da un Altrove che ogni ascoltatore chiamera col nome delle sue paure” (FabrizioGarau, The New Noise). Il 2019 vede la pubblicazione di Nèktar, full-lenght registrato insieme a Carlo Veneziano (batteria, synt) e Francesco Cescato (basso.) L'album viene pubblicato in formato LP 12” per Toten Schwan Records e in cassetta per Stoned To Death Records.

Tristan da Cunha Tristan da Cunha è un duo post-rock/drone/ambient di Pavia composto da Francesco Vara (chitarra) e Luca Scotti (batteria) nell’Agosto 2016. Il nome del duo deriva dall’omonima isola situata in mezzo all’Oceano Atlantico, l’isola abitata più remota del mondo. Nel Maggio 2017 pubblicano in CD per Taverna Records e Delphic Records il loro primo disco “Soçobrar”, prodotto da Paolo Monti (The Star Pillow). A Luglio 2017 "Soçobrar" esce su tape per l'etichetta svizzera Cruel Bones. Nell’Aprile 2018 pubblicano in CD per Dreamingorilla il loro secondo full lenght "Praia" A Febbraio 2019 pubblicano su tape per Priceless Tapes un EP, "A Voz Das Conchas". "Onda do Mar" è la quarta uscita del duo, di stampo post rock/ambient/drone. È un mare gonfio, triste ed impossibile da attraversare. L’edizione in cd è una coproduzione fra I Dischi del Minollo, Brigante Records, Casetta, Delphic Records. Teschio Dischi cura un’edizione limitata su tape Registrazioni in presa diretta, mixaggio e mastering presso SFR Experimental Area di Mariano Comense nel Settembre 2018.

Anni miei

I still carry a very distinctive memory of something that happened to me 23 years ago as a 7-year-old. It was one of my daily routines with my mom, watching american soap opera ”Bold and the Beautiful” when during one of the commercial breaks there was Laura with the album ”Laura” and ”Gente”, ”Strani Amori” or something like that. I just remember the voice, the sweet melody and the pretty girl sitting on a beige cushion. And how it all hit me. It was love at first listen, at first look or however you wanna think of it...anyhow the feeling hasn’t faded in 23 years.

Then, ”Laura” album and especially the song ”Amori Infiniti” were my ultimate favourites and in fact for many years to come after that. Never getting old though how much time would go by. The melodies, the voice and lyrics I’d always go back to. The tunes of my childhood. I literally listened the same album for another seven years because I was totally unaware of any other LP albums being released until it was time for another tv-commercial this time about ”Tra Te e Il Mare”. Needless to say how I adored to hear again the familiar voice and sounds that had gone stronger during the years. Eagerly I translated the lyrics to Finnish with a dictionary in my hand and zero Italian classes in my head.

The following ”The Best of: E Ritorno da Te” was basically a brand new album for me! While waiting for her English album to be published I collected slowly her albums along the years.. some were harder to find in Finland than others. But I was learning her story. With her singing I also discovered the beauty of Spanish and Italian languages which I began later to study. With ”From the Inside” I remember the fresh sound brought by the language change. I loved it how I didn’t need a dictionary anymore to understand what she was singing about! And even though she hadn’t written any of the songs on the album I still recognized her. Her image had changed but it was still her. Even today I’m still the most saddest about this album not being as successful as it should have deserved to be. But even without the chart success she is equally amazing singer and performer also in English.. or in any language she chooses to sing. Americas, UK, the entire English speaking market – you have no idea what you’re missing.

”Resta in Ascolto” was the first album I remember to have really been waiting for. I remember the excitement of hearing the first 30 sec. of the title song and finally seeing the music video for the first single. How carefully I listened the album and its every note when I finally had it in my hands. I loved it already then but who knew how much more these songs would mean to me during the years to come. These were the days when I started to think about my own LP page for the first time. But with a lack of technical skills and social media the idea stayed as just as an idea.

Come se non fosse stato mai amore, 2004

In 2006 Laura was a Grammy and a Latin Grammy winner. I knew these awards meant so much more on national level in Italy but my joy and pride were dedicated only for her as a person and as an artist who had created something amazing and really deserved the credit, on an international level for that. On ”Io Canto” I was one of those who had never been exposed the poetry and beauty of the music Laura had chosen on the album. It was educating, refreshing and eyes opening. Not only in Laura’s musical life but also in Italian music in general. She sounds so amazing when she gives in to someone else’s writing. There’s something very fragile and emotional compared to when she sings her own pieces. After being a fan of 12 years I finally joined to the official fan club.

Before 2007 San Siro Stadium did not say much to me, especially since I don’t watch football. At all. I did not understand the fuss around the concert but when the DVD/CD came out… from the first notes on – I knew. I think there will not be a concert or a live release that could top San Siro 2007. Even today I cannot watch it without crying at the end. The emotion tops over everything even through tv screen - nevermind that your favourite song isn’t included or the camera crew was kind of lost for the entire evening.. the faults don’t count. It would also be the one (out of the live releases) I’d recommend to someone who’s never seen or heard of Laura before. All the essential parts are there.

Una storia che vale - live 2007

Personally ”Primavera in Anticipo” predicted what was coming to me in my personal life. During these years Laura visited Finland for several times, doing concerts and promo visits but I had not gone to any of them. Because I was shy, because I was young and did not know anyone else who’d like her music too. I literally kept her in a closet and only a few people knew about my passion for her. I was different than the other teens and I avoided bumping into opposite opinions that I didn’t wanna hear. So I kept all of this to myself.

But on May 20th in 2009, it was Wednesday. The day had come when I would see her live for the very first time in my life. 15 years after falling in love with her on the album ”Laura”. I did not take a single photograph nor video. I couldn’t. Too distracting. I was just 100% on concentrated staring at her, listening to her, memorizing every sound, gesture and move she made. I was blown away by her presence and voice. Unable to believe that I was actually breathing the same air with her and sitting only a few meters away from her. I cried during the first songs. I sang with her every note until the end but I can only remember a handful of moments during the concert lasting over two hours. The most beautiful ones of my life which I thought for a long time would never happen. But it did happen. And again. On October 1st, seven years ago I traveled to Rome, Italy to attend the official Fan Club Party. The one and only I’ve ever been to. Another unique experience. I met so many people I had met online, on the FC forum who’d become my friends in real life too without never meeting them face to face. Some I haven’t met again since but the feeling of friendship is still very much alive.

In 2011 I was in a crossroads and going through a difficult stage in my life and so I was not ready for ”Inedito”’s optimism and maturenes. It took me two years to understand the beauty of this album and to feel the words as my own. And how important it was to have these songs by my side when I was going through the things I did. Today it remains one of the best works of Laura and I find it criminal that it wasn’t at least nominated for Latin Grammy as its three predecessors.

Mi tengo, 2011.

As what it comes to her 20th anniversary release ”Greatest Hits” I couldn’t have imagined it to be done in any better way. It was so respectful for the old, but still with a modern touch adding new depth to the familiar songs and including even some of her less known work but which have shaped her career. It was such a perfect release! In 2014 I had my own 20th anniversary with her.

Between 2011-2014 I met Laura three times briefly, in Spain, UK and Canada. No words can describe these encounters but I gotta try at least. To meet the woman who’s voice has been speaking to me for 20 years. Whose words, emotions, melodies and music have been accompaning me for every step of the way. Hers as much as mine. Songs that were maybe a bit too adult for a 7-year-old to understand I listen today with a different perspective and wisdom.

In 2014 I did what I’ve always wanted to do: created my own LP page. Even though it’s a FB one but at least it’s technically do-able for me and maybe even better way to reach people in these days than a traditional website. I wanted and still want to create a place for Finnish and international LP fans around the world where to go crazy about the most and least favorite LP songs, facts, albums, lyrics, stories, videos, translations, photos etc. Besides of FB I have a similar Tumblr page also. On Youtube and Spotify I love to create different playlists. I put a lot of effort, time and thought on my posts and I appreciate every like and comment people give even though without single reaction I do create these posts mainly for my own pleasure. My site isn’t one of those fastest growing like the Spanish/Italian speaking ones on FB but I’m proud of every 1015 (I have at the moment) friends I have.

”Simili” did ”Inedito” to me. In 2015, again I was in a difficult spot in my life. Even though I didn’t exactly feel simili I still realized its greatness. The diversity between musical genres. Richness in lyrics, using talented new songwriters bringing a fresh sound. The songs grew in me for much after its release. And like ”Inedito” I hold it one of the or maybe the THE deepest and most mature LP album so far.

As the 3-year-anniversary of my FBpage I wanted to share my childhood favourite ”Amori Infiniti” with you. For being a LP fan for the most of my life, we’ve come such a long way together. Because that’s where it all began and how this site is just a continuing piece in my LP story as in my personal life. Back in 1994 there was only ”Laura” album and this song topping everything else but today after all the years, experiences, albums and songs I couldn’t name my favorite LP album even if I wanted to. Too many great ones. Fitting into different moments in life and unable being compared against each other.

However ”Laura” stays classic. Classic 90’s. Classic Laura. So I do hope you enjoy this rarity. With me. Now and in the future. Thank you for reading.

Moştenitorii României muzicale, la Sala Radio

(12 martie 2019)

Violoncelistul Andrei Ioniţă, singurul câştigător român al prestigiosului concurs Ceaikovski de la Moscova, va susţine, alături de pianista japoneză Naoko Sonoda, un recital în cadrul proiectului Moştenitorii României muzicale organizat de Radio România Muzical şi Rotary Club Pipera. Evenimentul este programat luni, 15 aprilie, de la ora 19:00, la Sala Radio şi se va ţine cu casa închisă, putând fi însă ascultat la Radio România Muzical. În program figurează Sonata nr. 5 de Ludwig van Beethoven, Două piese op. 2 de Serghei Rahmaninov şi Sonata în La major de César Franck.

Recitalul este urmat de o sesiune de autografe în foaierul Sălii Radio, prilej de prezentare a primului CD de autor pe care apare numele lui Andrei Ioniţă, album lansat pe 15 martie 2019 la casa engleză Orchid Classics.

Moştenitorii României muzicale este un proiect inaugurat în 2018 de Radio România Muzical şi Rotary Club Pipera, cu ocazia Centenarului României mari. Succesul festivalului de pian propus între 16 şi 18 octombrie a determinat organizatorii să continue această iniţiativă de a-i prezenta în recitaluri pe tinerii muzicieni ai României, deja confirmaţi pe mari scene internaţionale, pe care îi putem asculta însă mai rar şi acasă. Recitalurile din cadrul seriei Moştenitorii României muzicale se adresează şi acelui tip de public care, deşi interesat de cultură, nu ajunge des în sala de concert, mai ales din cauza unui program foarte încărcat: recitalurile au o durată maximă de o oră, se desfăşoară fără pauză şi prezintă un repertoriu accesibil pentru un public larg.

Luni, punctul central de atractivitate este calitatea ieşită din comun a muzicienilor protagonişti. Andrei Ioniţă (25 ani) este unul dintre cei mai apreciaţi tineri violoncelişti ai momentului la nivel mondial, un talent ieşit din comun, cu o tehnică şi muzicalitate strălucitoare. Cea mai mare reuşită a sa rămâne câştigarea, în 2015, a Concursului Ceaikovski de la Moscova, o performanţă excepţională. Andrei Ioniţă a devenit astfel primul român care a cucerit medalia de aur la această competiţie. Printre laureaţii concursului Ceaikovski s-au numărat, de-a lungul anilor, pianiştii Van Cliburn, Vladimir Ashkenazy, Grigory Sokolov, Denis Matsuev, Daniil Trifonov, violonistul Gidon Kremer.

Andrei Ioniţă a început studiul pianului de la vârsta de 5 ani, iar la 8 ani a luat primele lecţii de violoncel. A studiat violoncelul alături de Ani Marie Paladi, în paralel urmând cursurile Colegiului Naţional Sf. Sava din Bucureşti, profilul matematică-informatică; a. A fost apoi studentul lui Jens Peter Maintz la Universitatea de Arte din Berlin. Palmaresul său include şi alte premii importante, la Concursurile Aram Haciaturian de la Erevan, ARD din München sau Emanuel Feuermann din Berlin.

Andrei Ioniţă a cântat deja pe scene prestigioase din Europa, SUA şi Asia, în recital sau în concerte alături de orchestre precum Filarmonicile din München, Tokyo şi din Sankt Petersburg sau Filarmonica Cehă. În cadrul festivalului Enescu 2017 Andrei Ioniţă a apărut alături de Orchestra Filarmonicii din München, condusă de Valery Gergiev, dirijor care a contribuit mult la promovarea tânărului violoncelist român. În noiembrie 2018, Andrei Ioniţă a revenit pe scena Sălii Radio, solist al BBC Philharmonic Orchestra, în cadrul Festivalului RADIRO. La Sala Radio, va apărea din nou pe 14 iunie, în concertul care închide stagiunea 2018-2019 a Orchestrei Naţionale Radio.

Între anii 2016-2018, Andrei Ioniţă a fost parte a proiectului BBC New Generation Artists, înregistrările pentru BBC fiind editate pe un disc lansat la Orchid Classics.

În ultimii ani, Andrei Ioniţă a evoluat în recitaluri alături de pianista japoneză Naoko Sonoda, specializată în muzică de cameră. Ea a susţinut numeroase recitaluri alături de nume sonore ale prezentului, ceea ce nu a împiedicat-o ca, în paralel, să evolueze şi în concerte cu orchestre, în special în Germania. Naoko Sonoda a studiat la Universitatea de Arte din Berlin, ca şi Andrei Ioniţă. În calitate de pianist acompaniator, Naoko Sonoda activează în cadrul unor concursuri internaţionale prestigioase, iar din stagiunea 2017-2018, este şi pianist-acompaniator în cadrul stagiunii de la Carnegie Hall din New York, unde a şi cântat împreună cu Andrei Ioniţă.

Moştenitorii României muzicale este un proiect organizat în parteneriat de Radio România Muzical şi Rotary Club Pipera. Următoarele recitaluri din această serie au loc la Sala Radio în 6 iunie (pianista Axia Marinescu), 12 octombrie (violonista Ioana Cristina Goicea) şi 14 noiembrie (pianista Sînziana Mircea).

La saga de videojuegos basada en The Witcher cumple 11 años el próximo 26 de octubre y CD Projekt RED ha aprovechado la ocasión para ir lanzando en Twitter once curiosidades, a razón de una al día hasta la fecha señalada, sobre los juegos. Y hay una que nos ha llamado especialmente la atención: el barco fantasma de The Witcher 3.

Hay jugadores que ya se habían cruzado con este barco, claro, pero lo más probable es que la gran mayoría desconociera este dato, por no hablar de los pocos que se lo habrán encontrado por sorpresa mientras navegaban. The Bravo, “Che me ne fotte”

è un messaggio di speranza il brano in radio del duo salentino I “The BRAVO” raccontano: E' una sintesi del nostro periodo adolescenziale vissuto nelle violenze verbali quotidiane di cui eravamo vittime da parte del nostro patrigno, l'orco delle nostre favole per bambini. “Che me ne fotte” erano le parole che ci venivano urlate contro in qualsiasi occasione. Non gliene fregava nulla dei nostri pianti, della disperazione causata dalle sue azioni e dalle parole violente che brutalmente ci scagliava addosso e che ci ferivano, umiliavano e sminuivano nel profondo... ogni giorno la minima piccolezza poteva scatenare un incubo ad occhi aperti. Lui era agli arresti domiciliari e noi eravamo fagocitati nelle sue stesse restrizioni di libertà, nelle sue stesse frustrazioni. La nostra unica boccata di libertà era la scuola. Il mare, d'estate, ci era precluso con la spiegazione che non ce lo meritavamo a causa “del nostro cognome”, corredata dall'offesa terribile a nostra madre, oltre che a noi stessi, di non essere suoi figli. La protezione della mamma è stata la nostra salvezza in quegli anni; seppur di nascosto, lei non ci ha mai privati della sua tenerezza, fino a quando non abbiamo potuto portare lontano da lui le nostre vite. Arriva sempre il momento del riscatto, il momento in cui si reagisce con determinazione per difendere se stessi e la propria famiglia. Non è mai semplice trovare il coraggio di reagire ed il brano “Che me ne fotte” vuole essere un messaggio di speranza per chi, purtroppo, vive situazioni come la nostra. Dopo aver raccolto i cocci della propria esistenza, si deve sempre ripartire con forza e dignità come abbiamo fatto noi”.

Andrea Cassano e Simone Cassano, componenti del duo “The Bravo”, sono due giovani cantautori salentini che hanno iniziato a nutrire il loro curriculum artistico musicale sin dall’infanzia. Hanno preso parte, insieme e/o singolarmente, a concorsi regionali e nazionali (con la presenza di personaggi illustri come Beppe Vessicchio, Luca Pitteri, Grazia Di Michele, Fabrizio Palma ecc). Sostenuto esibizioni in TV locali e nazionali, anche presso gli studi RAI di Torino (per il programma Social King 2.0 di Rai 2) e in "Amici Casting" su Canale 5, nonché parte organica (coro) dell'orchestra sinfonica Terra d'Otranto diretta dal Maestro Antonio Palazzo, in occasione della diretta RAI 1 del Premio TV 2015 (25 Maggio, prima serata, con la presenza di Maria De Filippi, Elisa Toffoli, Roby Facchinetti, Noemi, Massimo Ranieri, Emma Marrone, Arisa ecc). Hanno frequentato stage con il maestro del jazz Bob Stoloff, Paolo di Sabatino, Marcello Balestra, Antonio Laino e Kikko Palmosi con il quale, in collaborazione con il cantautore Tony Maiello, hanno composto alcune canzoni ("I'm Sorry" è contenuta nel cd del vincitore di Sanremo Giovani 2019 Einar Ortiz). Ex studenti presso il conservatorio Tito Schipa di Lecce, indirizzo canto jazz, hanno successivamente continuato gli studi privatamente con l'illustre cantante e cantautrice Jazz Elisabetta Guido, ancora oggi punto di riferimento per i due artisti. Un lit du roi, il teatro Galli di Rimini, ha ospitato lo scorso fine settimana (due le repliche, sabato e domenica sera, due sold out nel giro di poche ore) l’esecuzione dal vivo di “Awakening” (Warner), il primo album del violista di Verucchio che da circa due lustri affianca il Maestro Ludovico Einaudi sia in studio che nelle tournée in tutto il mondo.

L’anomalia, bellissima e assolutamente positiva, è racchiusa nella distanza che si interpone tra i pezzi live e quelli registrati nel cd, lì dove il palcoscenico si erge a luogo eletto, specchio che riflette la “stanza spaziale della verità più interiore”, cannocchiale rovesciato che punta a zoomare le note più nascoste. Federico Mecozzi, per la platea dorata del Galli, sceglie di donare al pubblico le chiavi dell’intimità.

Così “Kinetic”, il pezzo che ha aperto il concerto con le prime note eseguite a sipario chiuso, sono il preludio dell’omaggio e del rispetto che il violinista di Verucchio sente di donare al teatro di Rimini: un parlare attraverso le note mai urlato, quasi un pissipissi riservato, con quella delicatezza che permette al violino di assomigliare alla voce di una donna. La tantrica “Birthday”, lanciata con un videoclip a fine 2018, è il sorriso più gioioso dell’artista (assieme a “Desert dance”, che sembra riprendere e ampliare – con il solo accenno – quel giro di note che scandiscono il “compleanno”).

Sono musiche soffiate e delicate quelle che attraversano “Last June” e “Lost tales”, intime ma mai malinconiche, come quelle bagnate dal mare che danno vita a “Neptunus”. Una nuova luce illumina “Spring song” prima di lasciare spazio alla lettura di Giuseppe Righini, sulle assi del Galli anche per i bellissimi vocalismi di “Prayer”, un pezzo che ricorda, “voce&musica”, le sonorità dei Sigur Ros.

Con “Blue reverb”, “Desert dance” (con due ballerine che, dopo aver danzato in controluce dietro al fondale, appaiono sul palco) e “Home”, Federico Mecozzi supera la fase REM del sonno e si avvia al risveglio, dove incontrerà una giornata di sole e un futuro illuminato. Nei bis l’esecuzione di “Rimini” di Fabrizio De André (molto apprezzata, la scorsa estate, da Dori Ghezzi) e “Breeze”, un soffio che saluta il pubblico e lo fa alzare dalle poltrone. Teatro in piedi, applausi a scena aperta. Forse servivano solo queste ultime sette parole per descrivere il risveglio di Federico.

(Il cd, uscito il 25 gennaio, è molto più “rock”. Ha un bel “tiro”, come dicono i millennials, ma allo stesso tempo ha un effetto visivo rilassante. La copertina, che vede il violinista ritratto da Chico De Luigi, ha tonalità che tirano sull’azzurro e il turchese, simbolo di comunicazione attraverso la creatività. Colore emblema della lealtà e dell’idealismo, trasmette un senso di pacatezza. Dentro però, quindi le 13 tracce che danno corpo all’album, raccontano un risveglio allegro, quello di un viaggio nelle sonorità del mondo. Forse Federico ha incontrato Angelo Branduardi – senza forse, l’ha incontrato davvero al teatro Novelli nel 2015 in occasione di “Ainulindalë – Un palco ai giovani – La musica degli Ainur”, ispirato J.R.R. Tolkien con le musiche di Mecozzi, Nicolò Facciotto, Mattia Guerra, e Ivan Tiraferri e Branduardi voce narrante – e la musica trobadorica, filtrata e resa “fusion” con la freschezza dei suoi sorrisi).

“Ulìa” vuol dire Oliva ma anche desiderio, quello del popolo di Terra d’Otranto sospeso fra Europa e Mediterraneo.

Accanto a Anna Cinzia Villani, ‘la voce del Salento’ che canta e suona u tamburreddhu, un team di musicisti salentini e Mestre Canhao, esperto di capoeira, la danza/lotta di origine africana. Già negli anni ’90, collaborando con gruppi storici come il Canzoniere Grecanico Salentino, Anna Cinzia si è impadronita delle tecniche peculiari del canto e dell’intenzione che si cela dietro ai passi della Pizzica-pizzica, che rende unici i suoi laboratori didattici in Italia e all’estero. Dopo numerose collaborazioni discografiche esordisce nel 2008 con Ninna Morella, il suo primo lavoro da solista. Del marzo 2012 è invece l’album “Fimmana, mare e focu!” (AnimaMundi).

Mestre Canhao, nato a Guarujà, São Paulo (Brasil), a 10 anni di età inizia i primi passi nella Capoeira con il Gruppo de Capoeira “Caravela Negra” di Mestre Camarão. Nel 1986, diventato Professor, fonda il Gruppo Lembranca Negra ed inizia la sua attività d’insegnamento. Nel 1991 diventa Mestre ed insegna in varie Academias di São Paulo, São Caetano do Sul e Botucatu e sponsorizzato dalla “Bad Boy”, registra il suo primo CD di Capoeira. Partecipa a workshops ed eventi in tutto il brasile e nel 2003 arriva in Europa per presenziare all’evento organizzato dall’Associacion Genevois de Capoeira di Mestre del Bruto in Svizzera; successivamente si sposta in Italia per continuare il suo lavoro d’insegnamento presso le scuole di Arti Marziali, palestre e accademie di danza nella capitale. Mestre Canhão ha come obiettivo quello di preservare le origini e tradizioni di questa arte-disciplina affinché il passato del suo popolo e del suo paese non venga travisato o addirittura dimenticato, rispettandone soprattutto ‘os fundamentos’.

SABA ANGLANA

Saba nasce a Mogadiscio, padre italiano e madre etiope, ma arriva in Italia da bambina. Qui cresce e sviluppa i doni di questa doppia nazionalità, declinando il suo talento sia nel campo della musica che della scrittura e della recitazione. E’ attrice e cantante fin dal debutto, in un progetto diretto da Fabio Barovero dei Mau Mau, con cui incide dischi multilingue. Nel 2006 registra l’album” Jidka” (The Line), cantato in lingua somala e in inglese. L’album esce in 60 paesi tra cui Francia, Stati Uniti, Giappone, Italia.

Saba Anglana ha all’attivo numerosi concerti in Italia e all’estero: ricordiamo tra i tanti “The Earth Nat Geo”, tenutosi il 22 aprile 2008 in Piazza del Campidoglio a Roma, insieme a Nidi D’Arac, Cesaria Evora e altri artisti di fama mondiale. Il secondo album, “Biyo”, è stato pubblicato a febbraio del 2010 e nello stesso anno è entrato nella top ’10 della European top chart of world music. Nel 2012 esce il suo terzo album, “Life Changanyisha”, registrato in Tanzania e cantato in swahili, nel disco ha collaborato anche con alcuni musicisti tanzaniani e con Thomas Gobena dei Gogol Bordello. Nel 2015 il suo ultimo lavoro dal titolo “Ye Katama Hod”. Attualmente vive tra Roma e Torino.
