Top 10 Benefits of CCTV Camera Installation for Home Security â Toskie
CCTV installation for the home has become increasingly popular as people look to secure their properties and protect loved ones. With modern advancements, CCTV camera installation is no longer a luxury but a necessity, providing homeowners with peace of mind and a robust security solution. Hereâs a look at the top 10 advantages of installing CCTV cameras at home and why you should consider it as part of your home security setup.
Peace of Mind
One of the most significant benefits of CCTV camera installation for home security is the peace of mind it provides. Knowing that your property is continuously monitored allows you and your family to feel safe. CCTV camera installation enables you to check on your home at any time, whether youâre at work or on vacation, reassuring you that everything is under control.
Deterrent and Crime Prevention
CCTV cameras act as a powerful deterrent to potential criminals. Simply seeing a security camera can discourage intruders from attempting to enter your property. Studies have shown that homes equipped with CCTV cameras are less likely to be targeted by burglars. The visible presence of CCTV installation around your property sends a message that your home is protected, reducing the risk of break-ins.
Prosecution
If a crime does occur on your property, CCTV footage can be invaluable in identifying and prosecuting the perpetrators. High-definition video recordings can capture crucial details such as faces, clothing, and even license plate numbers, providing strong evidence for law enforcement. CCTV camera installation for home security helps ensure that if a crime does happen, youâll have the documentation needed to support prosecution.
Remote Monitoring
Remote monitoring is a game-changer when it comes to modern CCTV systems. With many CCTV camera installation services offering apps and online platforms, homeowners can monitor their property in real time from anywhere. Whether youâre in the office or on a holiday, CCTV installation allows you to always keep an eye on your home. This feature is especially beneficial for parents who want to check in on their children or pet owners who want to monitor pets while away.
Ideal in conjunction with intruder alarms
Combining CCTV cameras with an intruder alarm system provides a comprehensive security setup. When used together, these systems provide an added layer of security, allowing you to visually verify the reason for an alarm. In case of a break-in, the CCTV footage can provide vital information, helping you respond appropriately and alerting the authorities if necessary.
Reduced Insurance Premiums
Did you know that having CCTV cameras installed for home security can reduce your insurance premiums? Many insurance providers offer discounts to homeowners who have security systems, as CCTV installation lowers the likelihood of theft and damage. This benefit not only improves your home security but also saves you money on insurance in the long run.
Low Price, High Quality
Thanks to technological advancements, CCTV camera installation is now more affordable and offers high-quality resolution. CCTV cameras today are available at competitive prices, and the quality of footage is better than ever. Homeowners can now install high-definition CCTV systems without a huge investment, ensuring they get value for money while keeping their homes secure.
Monitor vulnerable areas
CCTV cameras are particularly useful for monitoring specific areas of the home that might be more vulnerable, such as entry points, the backyard, or the garage. With CCTV camera installation, you can strategically place cameras to cover blind spots or high-risk areas, ensuring that all parts of your home are safe.
Prevent Unauthorized Access
CCTV cameras are essential for preventing unauthorized access if you have a large property or valuable assets on-site. They help monitor entry points, gates, and pathways, allowing you to detect any suspicious activity. CCTV camera installation services offer customizable solutions to suit your propertyâs specific needs, ensuring complete coverage where itâs most needed.
Easy Maintenance and Minimal Upkeep
Modern CCTV systems are designed to be low maintenance, making them ideal for busy homeowners. With minimal upkeep, CCTV cameras can function reliably for years with occasional checks. This feature makes CCTV camera installation a hassle-free security option that provides long-term benefits without constant attention.

I know you get deja vu...
Opening your eyes felt strange, as if you had been sleeping for days and were finally waking up. You took in a soft breath, seeing an unfamiliar environment. Your senses slowly came to, and you heard the beeping of a machine. You lazily looked over, seeing what appeared to be a masked doctor checking an IV drip, intending to add something to it. Your eyes slowly followed the line until you found the needle, feeling it sticking out of your arm.
â⊠whatâŠâ
âHm, youâre awake?â
âAm⊠am I⊠in a hospital?â You looked around. âWhat happened?â
âUh⊠whatâs the last thing you remember?â
âMy head⊠itâs fuzzy⊠wait, what day is it?â
âItâs Sunday.â
âOkay, I didnât miss classesâŠâ
âItâs summer though.â
âHuh? No, itâs⊠whatâs the date?â
You needed to hear the date twice, not wanting to believe what you were hearing. Because if it was true, then there was a six month gap in your memory.Â
âDo you really not remember the last six months?â
âWhat happenedâŠâ
You looked up at the person with you, on the verge of breaking down in panic. You were so scared and confused when suddenly a familiar face came into the room.
âY/n!â
âChan!â
The tears spilled out when Chan came over to hug you tight. Even if you didnât understand what was going on, having him here brought you relief. You werenât alone anymore. He let you cry until you exhausted yourself, completely ignoring the other person in the room as they left, not even asking for them to get the doctor. At the moment he was just glad you were alive and awake.
âChan⊠Chan, whatâs going on?â You sniffled. âWhat happened?â
âYou donât remember?â
âNo⊠but the other person⊠whatâs the dateâŠâ
âY/n, what-â
âIâm missing six months⊠my memory⊠whatâs happening?â
âEasy, just take it easy, everythingâs going to be alright.â
You had so many questions, but Chan insisted on getting a doctor first to look you over and make sure everything was alright. Thatâs when you learned how you wound up in the hospital. You had been in a car accident, a bad one as it had flipped over and rolled. You were found unconscious, upside down and buckled into the driverâs seat of the car. Now you were starting to feel all your wounds. The bruises and cuts that decorated your skin, not to mention the whiplash and head injuries. You were lucky nothing had broken, except your mind apparently. The head trauma is most likely what cause the amnesia. Theoretically you should regain your memories, but there was no way to know for sure.
âWhat happened, Chan?â
âI donât know. You were driving alone late at night on an empty street. Thereâs no CCTV to look at, so no one knows what happened to you that night. Only you do, but youâve forgotten.â
âSo I have to rememberâŠâ
âYou donât. Youâre alive, thatâs all that matters. Itâs probably best if you donât remember that horrible night anyway.â
âChan.â
âHm?â
âSix months ago I was in school. If I donât remember Iâd basically have to retake a whole semester.â
âAre you seriously worried about that right now?â
âKinda⊠all that tuition moneyâŠÂ just down the drain⊠not to mention my educationâŠâ
Chan scoffed. âI cannot believe thatâs your biggest concern right now. How about you focus on your recovery first.â
âBut-â
âLook, Iâll take care of everything, including you.â
âMe?â
âYou think Iâm just gonna drop you off at your apartment when you get discharged? Youâll stay with me until I deem you fit to be on your own again.â
âI can take care of myself.â
âDid you already forget how you wound up in the hospital? You were driving alone in the middle of the night!â
âIâŠâ
âIâm sorry.â Chan quickly apologized. âI didnât mean to scold you or anything like that⊠I just donât want you on your own anymore, at least until Iâm sure youâll be alright.â
âI get that⊠thank you⊠and Iâm sorry tooâŠâ
âFor what?â
âI canât imagine the kind of worry I put you through.â
âYeah, you have no idea, but Iâm just glad youâre safe now.â
You had been unconscious for about three days, having been rushed into emergency surgery upon your arrival. Chan had been staying with you all this time, only stepping out to get food or take a call to keep the others updated. Now that you were up and doing well you could properly start your recovery process. You stayed in the hospital for a little over a week, and then got discharged into Chanâs care. He took you to his place. His loft that you were thankfully still familiar with. There were a few new things though, but you couldnât explore much until you were better on your feet. So until then Chan attended to your every need, even when you protested. Although he tended to disappear at night, for work.
You wanted to ask about that. A lot changed in six months, but you were certain he didnât want to talk about it, so you waited. Once you were good on your feet, you kept it to yourself. So one night when Chan put you to bed and went out, you got up and went into one of the other rooms. It wasnât his bedroom, but his office. Six months ago it had been mostly empty. A few papers hung on the wall, some basic points written on the whiteboard, and some question marks over some silhouettes. Now nearly every inch of the wall was covered with reports, or newspaper clippings, or hand written notes. Although there was a new question on the whiteboard.
âWho are the Black Pirates?â
Eight pieces of red string led from the question to eight headshot silhouettes. Christopher Bang was your childhood friend who had grown up to become a cop, and Chan was the name he had taken upon going undercover. You probably shouldnât be here, a part of his fake life, but you didnât want him to be alone. Besides it wouldnât hurt to have some piece of his real life around, something to keep him grounded and remind him who he really was deep down. Six months ago he was just getting started, having recently gathered up a team and making his way into the illegal street racing scene. From all the information on the wall, the operation was still going, but you werenât sure if there had been progress. So while you had the chance you looked around, seeing what he had been up to all this time.
â€
âY/n, what are you doing in here?â
âUhm?â
You woke to the sound of Chanâs voice, slowly lifting your head off the desk. It seemed you had fallen asleep at some point during all the reading.
âWhat time is it?â
âLike five in the morning.â
âAnd youâre barely getting home?â
âWhat are you doing in here?â
âJust some light readingâŠâ
âWhy.âÂ
Chan went over to you, grabbing the papers you had been sleeping on. You merely yawned and rubbed the sleep from your eyes.
âI was just curious. Last I remember you had just begun this whole operation.â
âIf you had questions you could have just asked.â
âAnd would you have answered me properly?â
ââŠâ
âI thought so.â
Chan sighed. âYou know this is meant to be top secret information, right?â
âThat you just leave splayed out like this where anyone could see.â
âNot just anyone knows where I live. Nor could they get in so easily.â
âTouchĂ©.â You looked over at the whiteboard. âYouâve made some progress though. I guess the Black Pirates are an eight member gang.â
âIn theory.â
âTheory?â
âThere could be members that donât go out on the field, or members that only participate in gang activities. All we know is that when it comes to committing crimes, the Black Pirates are seen as an eight member gang. At least thatâs been consistent the last few months.â
âAnd you have no idea who it could be?â
âI might have a group of suspects.â
âOh, who?â
âItâs just a gut feeling, nothing more.â
âSo, no real progress then?â
âIf it was that easy to catch them I wouldnât need to go undercover.â
âRight⊠how are the others?â
âGood, and happy to know youâre alright too.â
âTell them I said hi, and to come visit me.â
âIâll relay the message. Now you should go back to bed.â
âFine.â
You got up and stumbled a bit, your legs still asleep, but Chan insisted on walking you back to your room. You slept in until Chan woke you to eat breakfast, and then you went back to sleep for a bit more. Now that you werenât bedridden you could start catching up on things. First off you needed a new phone, as yours got destroyed in the crash. Chan had already prepared one for you and added your old contacts. Everyone you messaged was glad to hear from you, having been getting updates from Chan beforehand. You made sure to thank him for all he had done.
Since you were talking with friends again, you brought up last semester and started looking into your academic record. Chan still didnât want you on your own, so he brought over some of your school things. You had passed your previous classes, and by looking over at your notes it seemed you understood the material well. Everything felt kinda hazy, but you figured you could continue with your planned classes for next semester without worry. Besides, Chan promised to cover your tuition for the next year, along with any other expenses so you didnât feel like you were wasting money.Â
He still didnât like the idea of you regaining your memories, but he was going to support you and your choices. So you slowly began to live your life again. It was a bit difficult adjusting to the sudden time change, but you managed well. Once you were in a better condition you decided to meet up with friends, do a bit of catching up, but it was all mostly from them. You kinda felt bad, hearing all these stories and not being able to remember them. It kinda created this distance between you and your friends. You had fallen behind, and you werenât entirely sure you could catch up. You didnât say any of this out loud, but it weighed heavy on your mind. You wanted to remember, but you also understood why Chan didnât.
You had gotten into a horrible accident. All you knew about it was what you had been told, and the injuries you were recovering from. Chan didnât let you look at any of the crime scene photos, and he had already asked your friends not to bring up the subject or engage. Truth was you probably should have died that night, but you didnât. So if you remembered what happened, youâd have answers, but youâd also relive that fear and pain. Maybe it was best to just move on and figure out your life without those six months, but something was also nagging at you from that forsaken void.
One night you had made your way into Chanâs office again, not seeing anything new. You felt bad. All these months and he hadnât made any real progress. Now you knew undercover work could take years, but you still wanted to help in any way you could. Chan had been working for months, but for you it felt like just yesterday he had started, and just yesterday he was a different person. You hadnât mentioned it to him, but you knew he had changed. You couldnât be sure if your accident was the reason, but Chan wasnât the same person you remembered. He was a lot more cold and serious, even to you. It seemed like he was trying not to be, but it was a part of him now.
While you stared at all his work you found something new on the desk. A sticky note with an address scribbled on it. You typed it into the internet, and going by the location, it seemed to be where the illegal street racing was going down. It was probably a bad idea, but you were curious to see what Chanâs work environment looked like. So you got dressed, finding something you felt was appropriate for the occasion. You caught a taxi, having it drop you off near the area, and then going your own way. For a moment you thought you were wrong and had just come out to a rather deserted area where you were surely in danger, but then you heard it. The sounds of rubber on the pavement, the smell of alcohol in the air, and the wild cheering of the crowds of people gathered for the show.
This area was out of sight, and a good distance from the main roads, yet it had its own racetrack, perfect for illegal street racing. Firstly you were relieved to see your clothes matched the event, so you wouldnât stick out like a sore thumb. Although there were other ways to get noticed. You made your way into the crowd, looking around at the people, trying to find Chan. Not to get caught, but to know where he was and avoid him. Not to mention the rest of his crew. Theyâd surely tell on you if they saw you in a place like this. So you kept your eyes open and your ears sharp, picking up on as much information as you could. A race had just ended, and another was soon to begin. You were curious to see, so you tried making your way to the front, but that seemed impossible because of the crowds.
âWhat are you doing here?â
You froze, thinking you had been caught, but the voice wasnât all that familiar. So you slowly turned around, instantly relieved to see it wasnât Chan or his crew, but someone else. They stared at you curiously, but also intrigued, and it was starting to make you a bit uneasy. Although there was something else about him too.
âUh, what are you talking about?â
âYou donât look like you belong here.â
âOh⊠is it that obvious?âÂ
The man chuckled. âYou can say that.â
âHuh⊠well I was honestly just looking for a friend of mineâŠâ
âIâm sure you were. Who are they? Maybe I know them.â
âI donât know⊠does the name Chan ring a bell?â
âThe leader of Stray Kids, of course. His crew is racing next, going up against The Boyz.â
âYou know him?â
âHeâs a good racer, but youâre not gonna find him out here. Come on, Iâll take you to him and give you a better show.â
âUhâŠâ
âDonât be shy. I know youâre not the type.â
Without waiting for a response the man took your hand and pulled you along. His grip was firm, so you couldnât really pull yourself free. Besides he didnât seem all that bad, so you figured you should at least see where this would go. He led you away from the crowds and over to a chained off area, like a VIP section. There seemed to be bouncers around, but they let him and you pass through without issue. Next thing you knew you were surrounded by cars, seeing all kinds, and watching the people around show them off.
âYa, Wooyoung, what do you have there?â
âLook who I found!â
Wooyoung, as you had discovered his name, brought you before what you assumed to be his friends. There were seven other guys, and four cars present. Now you understood where you were. This was where all the racing crews gathered and hung out in between races.
âYeah, I bet you found them.â One of the others approached, watching you closely. âNice to see you. What are you doing here?â
âSheâs looking for her friend, Chan.â
âAh, Chan of Stray Kids, and does he know youâre here?â
âNoâŠâ
âThatâs rude, isnât it? Youâre friends and he wonât even invite you to his races.â
âHe just worries about me.â
âI bet. Yet you came all on your own.â
âYeahâŠâ
âInteresting⊠oh, where are our manners, we havenât properly introduced ourselves. My name is Hong-â
âY/n!â
That voice you did recognize, and hearing your name called out so harshly made you wince. You slowly looked back to see Chan storming his way over to you, the anger on his face clear as day. He grabbed your arm and yanked you away from the other. Before you could say anything to defend yourself he cut you off.
âYou think this is funny?â
You didnât really know what he meant by that, until you realized he wasnât talking to you. He was staring down at the guy you had just been speaking to, making you wonder why heâd be mad at them. The other just laughed, and the rest of his crew was chuckling too.
âHonestly, I find this hilarious, and oh so very intriguing.â
âStay away.â
âIs that a threat?â
âItâs your one and only warning.â
Chan walked off and tugged you along. You didnât even say goodbye to the others, but it was probably best you didnât speak. So you didnât ask where Chan was taking you, or how he found you, or what that whole scene back there had been about. You wound up over with his crew. They all seemed confused by your presence but greeted you nonetheless, not asking questions. Especially not as Chan told Minho to race in his place, and you were shoved into the passenger side of his car. Chan put your seat belt on for you and slammed the door shut. Now you were sure he was mad at you. Still, you didnât say anything until you were on the road, an empty road, and you were certain this wasnât going home.
âUh⊠Chan, where are we going?â
He didnât answer you, instead hitting the gas. You watched as the speed increased, making you grab your seat belt. Your heart was already pounding, filling your ears, and your head began to hurt.
âChanâŠâ
ââŠâ
âChan, slow down, youâre scaring meâŠâ
ââŠâ
âChan!â
ââŠâ
âCHAN!âÂ
He slammed on the breaks and the car swerved to the side. Once it came to a stop you took off your seat belt and got out of the car, falling to your knees as you caught your breath. A moment later Chan got out of the car, glancing your way and leaning against the hood. He sighed and looked up at the night sky.
âThat was dangerous, wasnât it?â
âWhat is wrong with you!?â You screamed. âWhy the hell did you do that!?â
âCause⊠this is where it happenedâŠâ
âWhat?â
âWhere you got run off the road.â
âRun offâŠâÂ
You looked around, seeing the empty street. You had been told you were driving alone at night on an empty road with no CCTV, and that something happened that caused you to flip over. No other details were shared, until now it seems.
âWhat do you mean? How would youâŠâ
âThere were three different tire marks on the road, and your car had a few impact points. Suggesting, or confirming, you werenât out here alone.â
âSo it wasnât an accident⊠but more of a hit and run⊠why didnât you tell me? Why are you telling me now?â
âBecause Iâm not doing this again.â
âWhat-â
âChan, please answer your goddamn phone!â
You were still somewhat processing when you heard your own voice. You looked over to see Chan holding up his phone, playing back some recording of you, probably a voicemail. He couldnât even look at you, eyes shut and head bowed as the message played.
âWhen you get this, please call me back immediately. You were right, okay? Shit was dangerous and⊠I fucked up, but it was an accident! I didnât⊠shit, they caught up to meâŠâ
You could vaguely make out the sound of a car engine in the recording, two, hearing them get louder as they got closer. You sounded panicked, and started screaming when your car got hit.
âFuck, fuck, fuck⊠Chan, Iâm sorry⊠I know you told me to stay out of it⊠itâs my fault alright⊠please just call me back so I can tell you everything⊠I donât know long I can do this⊠the Black Pirates-â
Everything cut out as you heard the sound of a crash, and then the recording came to an end. Chan took in a breath as he put his phone away, and you could see the pain on his face.
âThat⊠that wasâŠâ
âYou were desperately trying to call me that night and I couldnât answer the fucken phone in timeâŠâ
âSo, the Black Pirates⊠theyâre the ones that attacked me⊠but I donât-â
âSix months ago you followed me to a race, and you made friends with the other crews. I told you to go home and stay out of my work but you insisted on helping me. I foolishly let you, but I didnât know how deeply you had gotten involved⊠I donât know what you were doing that night, or who you were with, or where⊠but Iâm guessing you figured out who the Black Pirates were, and they figured out who you were tooâŠâ
âSo I know who they are⊠or at least I didâŠâ
âYou almost died that night y/n, and Iâm not putting you in danger again. So please, stay out of this.â
âI know who the Black Pirates are⊠so if I remember-â
âNo!â
âBut I can help, I-â
âWhat did I just say? I donât want your help, I never should have let you in the first place. Iâll find those bastards and make them pay. Thereâs no reason for you to put yourself through that night again just for the sake of remembering them. That is if you actually know who they are. For all we know, you were getting close or they caught you in a lie and they chased you down for that alone.â
âIâm sorryâŠâ
âIâm the one who should be apologizing⊠I shouldnât have put you in danger⊠Iâm sorryâŠâ
âI made you worry a lotâŠâ
Chan scoffed. âYeah⊠yeah you didâŠâ
âSorryâŠâ
âJust promise me you wonât follow me again, that you wonât get mixed up in that shit again.â
âI wonât⊠I promise⊠Iâll just stick to school, alright?â
âThatâs good.â
You took in your surroundings a bit more before Chan said heâd drop you off back at his place. You apologized for interrupting his night, but he admitted he felt relieved in telling you the truth. That way you knew to stay out of his work, and he could rest assured knowing you were safe. When he dropped you off you playfully wished him good luck, and told him to get back safe. Once back in the loft you went into his office, looking at these things one more time and your eyes landed on the whiteboard, staring at the question.
âWho are the Black Pirates?â
You knew the answer, in theory, somewhere deep down, but it wasnât worth looking for. Things were better off this way, and now you felt more certain focusing on your life, on your future, than looking into the past. You walked out of the office and shut the door behind you. It was scary to think you had gotten involved in such dangerous things, that you almost died, so you certainly had a new appreciation for life. If only that danger didnât come back to find you.
â€
Before the new semester began you gave yourself a bit of a refresher course on your previous semester classes, especially those that had been vital to the advancement of your academic career. Your friends even helped as well to make sure you were prepared. Although they all assured you, including Chan, that if you couldnât handle the classes, there was no shame in dropping out and retaking the others. You stayed positive, but thanked them for their support. You were nervous on your first day, but that was just syllabus day and getting to know what to expect of the class. It all seemed manageable, and you had previous notes to look over if necessary.Â
Since much wasnât going on yet your friends suggested going out for drinks to celebrate the beginning of the semester, and make wishes for the future. You were more than happy to attend. Itâd be another thing to get your life back on track. So you showered and got dressed for a night of drinking and fun. You started off at a bar before going to continue the party at a karaoke place. You all sang your heart out, and once you were a good amount of alcohol in you all began to wind down. You all held your glasses up and made a wish for the future, whether it was for the semester or for life, but you all cheered each other on and wished for the best.Â
Definitely time to go home though, and you all sent each other off. You had called for a driver beforehand, so you messaged them to meet up with you to take you home. You waited outside the karaoke bar, dancing and singing to yourself, not as drunk as your friends but rather tipsy. You checked your phone when you were suddenly tapped on the shoulder. A nice boy smiled and bowed at you, asking if you were the lady who had called for a driver. You said yes and made sure to check everything to assure he was in fact your driver. He could see you were unsteady on your feet and made sure to hold you close.
âYou know⊠you look kinda familiar⊠do I know you?â
The man chuckled. âI guess not.â
âWhatâs your name?â
âYunho.â
âHmâŠYunho⊠prettyâŠâ
He opened the door for you and made sure you were alright in the back. He was a good driver too, making sure not to make you sick. Even if you were intoxicated you had enough awareness to notice he was going the wrong way. You had probably given him your apartment address without realizing.
âExcuse me, but youâre actually going the wrong way.â
âAm I?â
âYeah, my bad, I must have given you the wrong address earlier.â
âNo problem, so where am I taking you?â
Yunho was very understanding and apologized for the confusion. When you got to the loft he helped you out of the car and took you up to your place, opening the door for you too. Chan wasnât home, out working again, so you werenât worried about him catching you like this, probably wouldnât approve of it either. You thanked Yunho for everything he had done, especially all the extra bits to make sure you got home safe.
âReally, thank you.â
âJust part of the job.â
âBut you did more than necessary.â
âItâs no big deal. Sleep well.â
âThanks, and get home safe.â
âWill do. Goodnight.â
âNight.â
â€
Your classes had their difficult moments, but that was always to be expected. You were doing well overall, so you could continue with your life as normal, focusing on your studies. Sometimes you would glance at Chanâs office, wondering if there was any progress, but you promised yourself you wouldnât ask. To give him peace of mind and keep yourself safe. Now that you were back in school and doing well, you talked with Chan about returning to your apartment. He was reluctant, but understood that you were your own person, and had your own life outside of him. It was kinda weird returning to your apartment. Things had changed, but those changes were decisions you made, even if you didnât remember.Â
It kinda wasnât your own place, but it was. So when you had some time youâd move things around again, trying to be comfortable. Your life was soon back on track, and it felt like nothing had ever happened. Everything seemed fine. Chan still kept in touch with you, and assured you everything was alright on his end. You were doing well in class, no longer feeling like you were behind with your friends. Things were moving forward, and yet thatâs when the past began to haunt you. It all started with a simple headache in class. You thought it was normal but it only got worse. So your friends took you to the hospital.
âHave you been trying to remember your accident?â The doctor asked. âOr recover any memories from the past.â
âNo⊠my life is doing well without those six months⊠so thereâs no point. Why?â
âUsually headaches suddenly coming on in such a manner are related to regaining memories. Have you remembered anything?â
âNo⊠not reallyâŠâ
âDo you want to?â
âIâm not trying.â
âI see. Itâs been a few months since your accident, so itâs possible the memories are coming back on their own.â
âOh⊠thereâs no way to prevent that⊠is there?â
âMemories, and the way the mind functions, still have their mysteries. All I can do is prescribe you some medication to help ease the headaches. Take them as needed.â
âThanks.â
You called Chan after your visit and told him what the doctor had told you. He seemed concerned, also wondering if there was any way to prevent that. Itâs not like you really had control over this, but you promised Chan you would keep him updated if you remembered anything, especially things related to his case. You were scared, but you didnât tell him. You had no idea the type of things buried inside your head, or what they would change about you if and when they came to light. You tried not to worry about it, but whenever your head hurt, even just a bit, you were terrified. The medicine did help with the pain, but that wasnât going to stop the inevitable.
âAre you okay?â
âHuh?â
Youâd always get distracted after a headache, worried youâd remember something horrendous. On this occasion you werenât paying attention to where you were going, running into someone on campus. They could immediately tell you were kind of out of it, and showed concern.
âNo, no, Iâm fine.â
âYou sure, you donât look okay.â
âIâm fine.â
âYou should sit down for a bit, collect your thoughts.â
âYeah⊠yeah thatâs a good idea.â
The boy led you over to a bench, sitting down with you. He suggested some breathing exercises to help you calm down and steady yourself.Â
âThanks.â
âNo problem. You sure youâre alright.â
âYeah, just these headachesâŠâ
âAre you taking anything for them?â
âYeah, but itâs only for the pain.â
âWhat?â
âThe headaches arenât normalâŠâ
âAre you sick?â
âNo⊠I just got into an accident and I canât remember some things⊠according to the doctor, these headaches probably mean my memories are returningâŠâ
âAnd you donât want that?â
âIâm scaredâŠâ
âWhy?â
âThings happened⊠things I donât really want to rememberâŠâ
âBut I donât think you can avoid it.â
âYouâre probably right⊠sorry, I didnât mean to dump my problems on you.â
âItâs okay. Youâre looking better already.â
âAre you a freshman? I donât think Iâve seen you around campus before⊠maybe a sophomore, you do seem a bit familiar.â
âDo I? I guess I just have one of those faces.â
âMaybe⊠whatâs your name?â
âYeosang.â
âThank you, Yeosang.â
âNo problem. Take care of yourself.â
Yeosang excused himself first, wishing you well for the rest of the day. You certainly felt better after talking to him, but his words lingered. Remembering those months was probably unavoidable. You called Chan afterwards, admitting to the headaches getting worse and that you were bound to remember everything. He was worried about you, but he understood you probably couldnât avoid it. So he suggested you come back to his place, to make sure you were somewhere safe when it happened. You agreed, saying youâd come by tomorrow after class. He looked forward to seeing you then, and told you to take care of yourself.
You made it back to your apartment, happy to finally be home and unwind. You collapsed on the couch, reaching over for the TV remote only to not find it. You usually left it on the coffee table, but it wasnât there. You checked on the couch, but nothing either. Then the TV turned on by itself. You slowly looked up at it, confused and frightened. When the channel changed you screamed, looking around your place frantically. You were alone, or at least you thought. A laugh suddenly filled your ears and you grew still. It sent a chill down your spine, especially cause you felt something vaguely familiar about it.
âFinally home.â
You slowly turned around, finding a stranger leaning against the wall, twiddling a remote in his hand. Then you heard the floor creaking, seeing seven others appear, and you recognized some. Wooyoung from the race course, Yunho who drove you home that night, and the presumed student Yeosang. As all the lights were turned on you got a good look at everyone, beginning to recognize them all from the night you went to the street race gathering. You stood up in a panic, although there wasnât much you could do as they had you surrounded. You reached for your phone only to have one of the boys grab your arm and take the phone from you. He tossed it over to Yeosang, who turned it off.
âWho⊠who are you, how did you get in here!â
âYou really donât remember anything, do you?â
âWhat?â
âBut youâre about to, which means we donât have to leave you alone anymore.â
âWhat⊠what are you talking about!?â
âItâll make sense eventually. Letâs go.â
Yunho came over and grabbed your other arm. You struggled against the two, but their grip was firm. While they held you another approached you, offering you a cocky grin before grabbing your head and exposing your neck. You felt a pinch, and then saw an empty needle moving away from your body, becoming fearful of the effects. Your heart was racing, but then you began to feel this exhaustion consuming you.
âNo⊠no, please⊠pleaseâŠâ
You tried fighting to free yourself, but it only made things worse. The edge of your vision started to go dark, and you were being dragged towards the door. You kept mumbling to be let go, but it did you no good, and the darkness eventually won.
â€
âHmmâŠâ
As you began to regain consciousness you felt the restraints on your body. Your legs were tied together, as were your hands, and you were gagged and blind folded. You felt a cold surface beneath you, trying to move around and sit up. Although you froze when you heard a voice.
âAre you awake?â
You didnât answer, you didnât move, but it was too late to pretend. You felt hands grab you and pull you up to your feet. You were shoved into a chair and then the blindfold was removed. It took a second for your eyes to adjust. You seemed to be in some type of garage, multiple cars around, and the eight from before surrounded you. Yeosang came up to remove the gag, and you didnât scream, too frozen in fear.
âGoodness, youâre still so beautiful.âÂ
âWhat⊠what do you want⊠from meâŠâ
âIsnât the answer obvious?â One commented. âYou.â
âMa⊠me?â
âWe could explain all of this, but with your memory returning thereâs no point.â
âI donât want my memory backâŠâ
âBut we do.â
âJust⊠just let me go⊠pleaseâŠâ
âNot gonna happen.â Yunho stated. âBut youâll be just fine with us.â
âNo⊠no, please⊠let me go⊠I wonât say anythingâŠâ
âYou donât have to be afraid of us.â
âLet me go!â
âStop asking.â Another snapped. âWeâre not gonna let you go.â
âWhat do you want from me!?
âYou!â Wooyoung yelled. âItâs so fucken annoying seeing you like this! This isnât who you are!â
âWa⊠what are you talking about?â
âNine months ago you became a better person. You were fucken perfect! Then-â
âEasy there, Wooyoung.â
âShut it, Jongho!â
âYa! Both of you.â Another shouted. âWeâre not here to fight among ourselves.â
This gentleman came over to you, staring down at you and making you feel small. He laughed, the same from back at your apartment.
âIt does hurt to see that Iâm nothing but a stranger in your eyes right now. I didnât really believe it at first when Seonghwa reported you had woken up with amnesia, so I sent some of my men to keep an eye on you. Yet every time you crossed paths with them, they were just strangers.â
âI⊠I donât know who you are⊠any of you⊠and I donât want toâŠâ
âWell thatâs too bad. Your little friend Chan got you involved, and you donât get to walk away so easily.â
âHow⊠how do youâŠâ
âOnce your memories come back everything will be clear.â
âNo⊠I donât want to rememberâŠâ
âBut you will.â
âFuck you!â
âOh you did, all of us actually. Iâd love to do it again.â He reached over and caressed your cheek. âMaybe thatâll help you remember.â
âDonât touch me!â
âFine. Letâs just go back to the beginning, shall we? Nine months ago you secretly followed your friend to a race. Care to guess how that went?â
âNo⊠no, I donât knowâŠâ
âCome on now, Wooyoung even told me he reenacted some things for you.â
âWhatâŠâ
âYou were so out of place, stood out like a sore thumb, you caught a lot of attention that night.â
âStop talkingâŠâ
âWe couldnât help it, so we introduced ourselves, and brought you into our world.â
âShut up!â
âIâm not going to!âÂ
The boy grabbed your face and forced you to look at him. He was angry and sad, all mixed together and fighting for dominance. You just felt terror.
âI want my y/n back!â
âSheâs not here!â
âBut I will get her back.â He let you go and walked away. âIf youâre not going to cooperate, then Iâll make you. Itâs been months but youâre finally on the verge of regaining your memories. A little push shouldnât hurt.â
âWhat are you talking about?â
You saw the boy get something from one of the cars, a small case, and set it down on the hood. He opened it and you saw him hold up a small vial and a needle. You immediately began to struggle against your restraints, but it did nothing to help you. As he approached with a needle in hand you tried to move back, only for Wooyoung and another to come over and hold you still.
âThis shouldnât hurt, just open up your mind to remembering the past.â
âStay away from me!â
âYouâll thank me later.â
You felt the pinch of a needle again, your mind racing with possibilities. You had no idea what he had just given you or what the effects would be. Your head might explode in pain, or youâd simply pass. Although the gradual feeling of everything slowing down was certainly frightening. Things were fading from existence, and time seemed to melt. You tried to fight it, to stay awake, but there wasnât anything to do as darkness swallowed you whole.
â€
Eight Months AgoâŠ
âSo this is your first big case?â
Chan was always passionate about work, about justice, but you never imagined heâd take on such an assignment. Undercover work could take months, even years, but he was determined to do the job. Despite the confidentiality he shared a few details with you, after all, some of them were public knowledge.
âYup. Thereâs been a string of robberies in nearby towns. From what weâve gathered it seems these criminals have ties to illegal street racing.â
âIllegal street racing? Where does that connection come in?â
âTheyâre good drivers, very good, and you donât see that with your average criminal.â
âTrueâŠâ
âBesides that, a lot of these robberies happen in areas where these races have taken place. Itâs still a theory, but thereâs good enough evidence to pursue it.â
âSo youâre going to participate in illegal street racing?â
âYeah. I know where the gathering is tonight, so I gotta make a good first impression.â
âBy yourself?â
âIâve assembled my own crew.â
âOh, can I go watch?â
âNo.â
âWhat? Come on.â
âThis is dangerous work, I donât want you getting hurt.â
âBut it sounds so fun!â
âAnd if you get arrested?â
âYou can just bail me out.â
âY/n.â
âNo?â
âPlease just stay out of this, and stay safe.â
âAlright fine, just donât have so much fun without me.â
Chan chuckled. âIâll try not to.â
You kept your word about not getting involved. Although whenever you came over to his place you had to peek into his office to see what he had gathered. Not much as far as you understood, but youâd always enjoy listening to Chan give you a debrief. He probably shouldnât be telling you about the operation, or even have contact with you while he was undercover. You didnât want him to be alone though, especially if this assignment could take years. He probably should have objected, but he also didnât want to completely lose touch with his actual life, especially the person he was closest to. Besides all that, it was good to voice his findings and get an outside perspective on things.
For a while that was good enough, but curiosity was killing you. So one night you managed to put a tracking app on Chanâs phone, and followed him out to one of his races. You were a bit worried about how you were dressed, but upon arriving it seemed youâd fit right in. Or so you thought. Chan never wanted you there, so you had to be careful to avoid him, but you were also trying to find him. He was one of the racers, he had his own crew and everything, and you wanted to see him in action. You discovered there was a lot more going on here than just racing. It was like one big party with drinks and drugs, and all kinds of things.
âWhatâs a pretty little thing like you doing in a place like this.â
You were lost in your own search that a strange voice startled you. The gentlemen immediately apologized and offered you a light bow. Although he kept a cocky grin on his face.
âFirst time?â
âUh⊠is it that obvious?â
âVery. Are you alone?â
âNot exactlyâŠâ
âMakes sense. People donât just wind up here without some sort of connection.â
âYeah. Iâm just looking for my friend.â
âOh, whoâs your friend, maybe I know them?â
âI doubt that.â
âTry me.â
âChan?â
âChan.â
âYeahâŠâ
âThe leader of Stray Kids?â
âSo you do know him?â
âYeah, but youâre not gonna find him out here. Come on, Iâll take you to him.â
âOh no, wait-â
Before you could protest the guy grabbed your arm and pulled you along. You werenât sure where he was taking you, or if it was a good idea to go along with them, but his grip was pretty firm. He led you over to this blocked off area, although the security posted let you both pass without any trouble. Soon enough you realized where he had taken you. There were cars all over the place, music blasting through the speakers, hoods popped open, and people talking about the cars. This is where the race crews hung out, and where they brought special guests.
âGuys, look what I found.â
âOh shit, whoâs the babe, Wooyoung?â
âThis is⊠my bad, I never got your name.â
âItâs y/n.â
âPretty. Itâs nice to meet you, Iâm Wooyoung, and these are my friends.â
You were introduced to seven other boys, and they all seemed very happy to meet you. Although the leader came over to personally greet you.
âIâm Hongjoong.â The boy took your hand and kissed it. âLeader of this wonderful crew, Ateez.â
âItâs nice to meet you.â
âSo tell me, what brings you out here tonight?â
âShe was looking for her friend.â Wooyoung commented. âChan.â
âChan of Stray Kids?â
âThatâs the one.â
âI didnât know he had such good looking friends. Well thatâs a lie, Iâve seen his crew, but I didnât know he was hiding you.â
âHe wasnât really hiding me.â You corrected. âHe just never invited me to one of his races before.â
âWell thatâs rude. Why wouldnât he invite you?â
âHe just worries about me.â
âI guess Iâd worry too if I had a friend like you.â Hongjoong laughed. âCome on, I believe Stray Kids are up next to race.â
Hongjoong took your hand and led you over to the race course, taking you to a place with an elevated view. The rest of his crew gathered around, and you could see the cars driving up to the start line. The two revved their engines to hype up the crowd. You recognized Chan behind the wheel, becoming very excited to see this all play out.
âWhoâs Chan racing against?â
âI donât know, some random guy.â San replied. âItâs probably theyâre first race against one of the big crews.ïżœïżœïżœ
âHow many crews are there?â
âUh, big ones, there are eight now. Everyone else is just trying to climb the ladder.â
âSo how do you determine whoâs on top?â
âWhoever has the most wins, and the crewsâ skill behind the wheel.â Yunho explained. âNo one ever really thought someone else would rise to the top, but Stray Kids really proved themselves.â
âSo do the big eight ever race each other?â
âWe do, but itâs usually a surprise, or for special occasions.â
âWow, Chan has really been keeping a lot from me. I didnât know he was so popular.â
âStray Kids have skill, and thereâs definitely natural talent there too.â Yeosang commented. âAlthough theyâre quite stiff.â
âStiff?â
âYou know, cold and reserved. Theyâre good behind the wheel, but it kinda feels like they donât fit in here.â
âWell maybe they need to loosen up.â
âYeah?â
âThis whole place looks like one big party. I would have thought Chan and his crew would fit right in.â
âOh no, the real party happens elsewhere.â
âDoes it?â
âOut here is where we come to race.â Seonghwa stated. âBut if you want a party, I can send you an invite.â
âReally? Are Stray Kids going to be there?â
âYou a big fan of theirs?â
âWell, I wouldnât mind having some familiar faces around while I make new friends.â
âI suppose we should also give them a proper chance.â Jongho added. âSee what theyâre like off the track.â
âSounds like fun.â
You watched a few races before Ateez took you back over to their spot. Since you were new to all this they were very eager to show you their cars. Mingi brought you over to what he said was one of his favorites. He reclined back the driverâs seat so you could rest more comfortably on his lap. You kept an arm around his shoulders and listened intently as he told you about the car. As he revved the engine he had you bouncing up and down, making you giggle.
âYou must like going fast.â
âThat type of adrenaline, itâs intoxicating. Would you like a taste?â
âI donât think I could drive a car like this.â
âYou can be my passenger princess.â
âIsnât it dangerous to have more than one person in the car?â
âNah, thatâs what makes it more fun.â
You caught Mingiâs eyes lingering on your lips, and soon your eyes were doing the same. All of the Ateez members were quite beautiful, so anyone would be lucky to be sitting in Mingiâs lap right now, it just so happens to be you. Maybe you were imagining things, but you swear it looked like Mingi was leaning over to kiss you. That is before you got interrupted.
âY/n?â
âHuh? Oh shit!â
You heard your name being called, and when you looked over you saw Chan by the hood of the car. Your eyes went wide as you realized you got caught, especially in this type of situation. You tried to scramble out of the car, but Mingi already had his arm wrapped around your waist and held you in his lap.
âMingiâŠâ
âChan?â Hongjoong peeked over at the scene. âWhat are you doing here?â
âOh, right!â Wooyoung suddenly yelled. âWe were supposed to call you and tell you your friend was here.â
âWere you?â
âMingi, please let go.â
Thankfully Mingi let you go, and you got out of the car to meet Chan. He was keeping his cool, but you could see the anger in his eyes. You offered a shy smile and let him grab your arm, dragging you off to speak in private. You prepared yourself for the scolding you were about to receive.
âWhat the hell are you doing here!â
âLook⊠I can explainâŠâ
âDid I not tell you to stay out of this! How did you even find me?â
âA tracking appâŠâ
âA what!â Chan checked his phone. âUnbelievable.â
âI know⊠you should take better care of your phone.â
âY/n!â
âSorry⊠I just got really curious about your case⊠I couldnât help myself.â
âHow long have you been here?â
âA couple hours⊠I saw you race too.â
âSeriously?â
âSorry.â
Chan sighed. âFine, whatever, you got what you wanted, now go home and donât come back.â
âBut I can help.â
âI told you I donât want you too.â
âWell you need me to.â
âWhat?â
âI was chatting with Ateez and they told me about you and your crew. You worked your way up to the top, and they recognize you have talent, but they donât like you all that much.â
âThe social game is a work in progress.â
âWell Iâve given you a great chance.â
âWhat are you talking about?â
âAteez mentioned something about a party tomorrow, outside the track, and they want me to come. So I convinced them to invite you too, that way you can all break the ice.â
ââŠâ
âYouâre welcome.â
âY/n, this is fucken dangerous!â
âI know, and Iâm being careful, alright. I didnât approach them, they approached me, so that already puts me in a good position to gain their trust.â
âI donât need you to help me out here.â
âBut I can give you an advantage. Why wouldnât these guys want to show off to some pretty girl? Theyâll tell me things without hesitation, and that includes the illegal shit. Someone might just let something slip about those robberies around me, and they wouldnât even be worried.â
Chan took a moment. âNo. No this is too dangerous and you-â
âPlease. I donât want you wasting years of your life in all this. If I can help you gain the trust of the other crews here, or get you some valuable intel, let me.â
âI donât want you in danger.â
âIâll be careful, and Iâll stay within my own comfort zone. If I donât like something, Iâll leave, I promise.â
âY/n-â
âI promise.â
âFine⊠fine, but donât do anything reckless.â
âI wonât.â
Even if Chan agreed to let you help him, he was still worried about you. So every now and then heâd check in and ask if you were alright, always reminding you that you could walk away whenever you wanted to. The reassurance was great, but you wanted to stick with him and see all this to the end. Being invited to that party was what really opened the door for both of you. Chan drove you to the place, and you were left in shock. You rolled up to a mansion, music blaring loudly, party lights illuminating the windows, it felt like something out of a movie. For a moment you thought how they could do such a thing without issue, and then remembered the long drive to get out here. There was no one else for miles and miles.
âY/n! Iâm so glad you could make it!â
Seonghwa and Hongjoong greeted you upon your arrival, big smiles on their faces. Then they acknowledged Chan and the rest of Stray Kids. There was a bit of awkwardness in the air, but you figured some drinks and a party could loosen them all up. The two led you all inside, showing you where to get drinks, and where the entrance to the backyard was. There was a pool and you took note of that for next time.
âCome on, I want to show you around.âÂ
Seonghwa took your hand and led you through the house. You knew Chan would probably worry about you, but you had your phone on you, and had promised to leave with him. So youâd see him again later in the night. You were honestly impressed by everything Seonghwa showed you, it was all so extravagant. Although when he led you upstairs you got a bit nervous.
âShould we be going up here?â
âNo place is off limits, besides, itâs my house.â
âWait, this is your place?â
âYup.â Seonghwa chuckled. âDid you think we rented out a mansion for the party?â
âI⊠I donât know⊠but⊠itâs huge⊠I canât imagine how much it cost.â
âPlus the renovations.â
âRenovations?â
âTrying to increase the value. Weâre planning on moving out in the next couple months.â
âWhy? Did you find a better place than this?â
âSomething like that.â
âSeriously though, how can you afford this? Who even are you?â
âWhat do you mean?â
âStreet racing doesnât pay the bills.â
âDoesnât it?â
âWait, do you guys make bets?â
Seonghwa laughed. âOf course. You think the people gather just to look at the pretty cars?â
âI⊠how much do you bet?â
âIn the thousands, tens of thousands, but I do come from a rich family. Most of the racers from the big crews do.â
âOh, do your parents know what you do?â
âThey donât care about me.â Seonghwaâs voice got somber. âThey never did.â
âNeither do mineâŠâ
âYou? What kind of family do you come from?â
âAn average one. We werenât wealthy but we lived well. I was a good student, but I guess that was expected of me so my parents never really told me that they were proud⊠I got into Uni on a full ride, but that was expected too⊠I honestly did it so I wouldnât owe them anythingâŠâ
âDo you still keep in touch?â
âNot reallyâŠâ
âMe neither. Not like theyâd be proud of me anyway.â
âIâm proud of you.â
âWhat?â
You giggled. âYouâre quite famous in the racing scene, arenât you? I havenât seen you behind the wheel yet, but Iâm sure youâre great. After all, youâre part of the big eight.â
âYouâre funny.â
Seonghwa brought you into one of the rooms on the second floor, his own, and took you out onto the balcony. You could see the party below, loving the atmosphere from the whole place. It was a nice view.
âThis is a good little place to get away.â
âYup, just the two of us.â
You didnât notice at first, but Seonghwa stepped away for a moment to bring over a bottle and two glasses. He poured you and himself a drink.
âShall we toast?â You asked.
âTo what?â
âWell, this may sound silly, but even if no one else is proud of me, I am. So I hope you can be proud of yourself too.â
âProud?â
âNot everyone can be a street racer, right?â You leaned in close to whisper. âAnd Iâm pretty sure youâve avoided the police a lot.â
Seonghwa scoffed and pressed a soft kiss to your cheek. His actions caught you by surprise, and when you saw his face you could see a soft little smile on his lips.
âTo us.â He raised his glass. âFor being proud of ourselves when no one else will.â
âTo us!â
You needed to be mindful not to drink so much. Even if the point of a party is to have fun, you were kinda working here. So you stayed with Seonghwa for a bit, just sticking to one glass and talking. You asked how he got involved in the racing scene, genuinely curious but also trying to get information. He didnât mind, telling you that at first he had done so to get his parents attention. Buying expensive cars, especially those designed to go fast. It got him nothing, so he thought to get in trouble with the law but thatâs when he met Hongjoong. The boy recognized the style of car he had and asked if he could race. At the time the answer was no, but Hongjoong took him under his wing and now here he was.
âYouâre such a bad boy.â
âI hear girls are into that.â
âAs long as they have a heart of gold.â
âDo I qualify?â
âIâm not sure.â
You suddenly heard the door open, and you both peeked into the room to see another boy stumbling in. He noticed you two and smiled.
âMy bad, looking for the bathroom.â
âOn the second floor?â Seonghwa questioned.
âFirst floor is occupied with a little line.â
âAh, well my bathroom is right there.â
âThanks.â
The boy stumbled his way over to the bathroom. He did seem vaguely familiar to you, so you asked Seonghwa.
âDo you know him?â
âYeah. Thatâs Younghoon from The Boyz.â
âThe boys?â
âBoyz, with a Z, but yeah. He was racing last night.â
âOh, yeah, I saw him. The Boyz are a big group.â
âEleven drivers, although the biggest would be NCT.â
âNCT?â
âItâs rare to see them all on the course, but they got different groups among themselves.â
âDamn⊠so besides them The Boyz are the biggest?â
âNo, that would be Seventeen.â
âThereâs a group with seventeen members?â
âNo, the group name is Seventeen, but there are thirteen members.â
âThen why are they called Seventeen?â
âIâm not good at explaining, but we can go find one of them and ask.â
âSure.â
You liked the idea of socializing, getting to know more people so youâre not so much of an outcast anymore. Although as you were heading out Younghoon came out of the bathroom.
âHold on, whoâs the girl?â
âThis is y/n, sheâs new on the scene.â
âMakes sense. I havenât seen such a pretty face. The nameâs Younghoon.â
âNice to meet you. I saw you race yesterday, youâre good.â
âThanks. If you ever want a ride, just let me know.â
Younghoon came over to you and took your hand, Seonghwa immediately grabbing your other one. He just made Younghoon laugh as he took out a pen and wrote down his number on your arm and signed his name.
âCall me.â
âIâm sure I will.â
Seonghwa did end up taking you to meet some of the other drivers, and you may have gotten another handful of drinks along the way. Things did get blurry, but you had pieces of coherence every now and then. You remembered being on the dance floor with Wooyoung and Yeosang for a bit before getting pulled into a drinking game. Then there was the charades after a quick dunk in the pool, you wound up in some of Yunhoâs clothes afterward. Although you swear youâve never had so much fun in one night. As daylight began to peek over the horizon the people began to disperse, but some remained. You wound up slow dancing in the backyard with San for a while before passing out. Of course you werenât staying over, but you needed to be laid down to rest. You werenât able to relay that message to Chan, so in the morning he was looking around for you.
âYa, Hongjoong, have you seen y/n?â
âUh⊠she should be upstairs, I think they put her down in Jonghoâs room, fifth door on the right.â
âThanks.â
Chan made his way upstairs, and gently knocked on the door before opening it. He walked in to find you curled up on the bed, cuddling with Jongho and mumbling.
âYouâre like a teddy bear⊠can I take you homeâŠâ
Jongho giggled. âYou can just stay with me.â
âHm⊠thatâs not a bad idea.â
âY/n, we have to go.â Chan said. âCome on.â
Jongho helped you up, getting you on your feet and going down with Chan to make sure you were alright. You said your goodbyes to Ateez, and thanked them for the party. You hoped to see them again soon. Chan got you into the back of the car and sat with you, Minho driving and Felix passed out in the passenger seat.
âThat was so fun⊠did you not drink?â
âSomeone needed to keep their head.â Chan explained. âMinho and Seungmin didnât drink either.â
âBoo, next time you should have fun.â
âI see you sure did. Whatâs with all the phone numbers on your arms?â
âOh⊠just gathering intel⊠I have more numbers on my phone⊠you can probably do something with them, right?â
âYou⊠how manyâŠâ Chan grabbed your arm. âThat was dangerous.â
âIt wasnât my idea⊠Younghoon liked me and gave me his number⊠then some others wanted to add to it.â You chuckled and started pointing out names. âThis is Woozi, oh and hereâs Jungwoo, thatâs Jaeyoon⊠Yeonjun wrote his number on my arm somewhereâŠâ
âDid she just do months of work in one night?â Minho questioned.Â
âI guess.â Chan commented.
âSome things require a womanâs touch and I have more numbers on my phone.â You added. âWas running out of room on my arms, but Jooheon was happy to be the first to be in my contacts list. Look, he sent me a cute winky face message.â
âYou really outdid yourself.â
âHm⊠plus I got other things too⊠a lot of them come from wealthy families⊠a chaebol here and there⊠I didnât know you guys bet moneyâŠâ
âThe illegal stuff isnât just the racing.â
âHow much do you have?â
âEnough to play.â
âYou gotta tell me about these things.â
âHow about a proper debrief when youâre sober. You should rest, you did a lot tonight.â
âHm⊠yeahâŠâ
â€
After that first party a lot of things changed. Now you were in the loop about the case and the progress that was being made. With the information you gathered you were able to learn more about the racers, and who they were outside the track. Although that created a new issue.
âIf these guys are our main suspects, then the question becomes why.â Changbin wondered. âThe racing I get. A bunch of bored rich kids having fun, but committing crimes? They already have money, so whatâs the point?â
âItâs the thrill.â Minho stated. âTo do something illegal and then run away from the cops.â
âYeah, but Iâm sure even if they got caught theyâd still walk free. So I ask again, why?â
âMaybe itâs just fun for them.â Jeongin said. âA game they play, or something they do just to see if they can. Like you said there wonât really be any consequences for them.â
âThat alone creates a problem for us.â Chan reminded. âIf there is no real motive behind these cromes, then there is no pattern to their actions. We canât really get the upper hand on them, so weâd just have to wait for them to make a mistake. Which isnât ideal. How are we with checking alibis?âÂ
âThatâs a game in itself.â Jisung sighed. âWeâve got five robberies so far, and a long list of suspects. Thankfully theyâre rather public figures so some of their alibis are out in the open.â
âAnybody clear?â
âNot all the way. Some still have no solid alibi for some nights, not to mention we donât even know how big the group of criminals is.â
âDoes anybody stand out to you?â
âNot reallyâŠâ
âAre we even making progress?â Seungmin asked. âIt doesnât feel like it. I mean we could be completely wrong about these guys.â
âWhat about style?â You suddenly asked.
âHuh?â
âYou told me that you were investigating the street racers cause the drivers at the crime scene were exceptionally good. Most drivers have their own style, or certain things they do behind the wheel. Is there any way you could try to compare the two, and see if anyone matches up?â
âHm⊠there isnât really footage of the illegal racing.â Hyunjin commented. âBut if we study the CCTV footage of the car chases, we might be able to do an onsite comparison based on our memory. It could help us narrow down the list and give us a better idea who to focus on. Great idea y/n.â
âHappy to help.â
âYou should have been with us from the start.â Felix added. âYouâre good at this.â
âWell someone didnât want me helping.â
âI still donât really like this.â Chan said. âBut you have been a big help, so thanks.â
âNo problem.â
Chan did have to draw the line at the CCTV footage. You could probably find it on the internet yourself, but he wasnât going to let you look at police evidence. You were fine with that, it would be easier to just get close to some of the racers and see what you could get out of them. So you did just that, going to races when you could, but your education still took priority.
âY/n! There you are! I didnât see you last time.â
âI had an exam to study for. Couldnât risk coming out and getting wasted.â
âYou could have let us know you had a curfew.â
âBut would you follow it?â
âMaybeâŠâ
âExactly.âÂ
You got along well with all the racers, even those who werenât in the big eight. Especially considering you were always in their area, considered more one of them than just another spectator in the crowd here to drink and bet. Stray Kids always drove you here and took you home, so you really just had to show up and enjoy yourself. Out of everyone though, Ateez seemed to like you the most, and theyâd always find you when you were around.
âYou really take school seriously.âÂ
âOf course. Iâm trying to build my life here.â
âOr you could just settle down with me.â Yunho suggested. âI promise Iâll take good care of you.â
âYeah? Well, I appreciate the offer but I must decline.â
âCome on, why? Iâm good looking, I got money, I-â
âI donât know you.â
âWhat?â
âOutside this life, Iâm not sure who Jeong Yunho is.â
âThen perhaps you should get to know him.â
âHmâŠâ
âWhatâs going on over here?â Mingi asked, coming between you two. âY/n, good to see you, missed you last time. I was racing and really wanted you to ride with me.â
You chuckled. âSome other time then. Although I might pass out. You guys go too fast.â
âThatâs part of the thrill.â
âI guess Iâll see one day.â
You wound up over with Ateez for the night, having a drink and relaxing on the hood of one of their cars. Even out there you could see the stars in the sky. You always enjoyed star gazing, but in a place like this it was far from quiet, and dangerous. You were just talking with San when suddenly you heard yelling, and the sound of sirens in the distance.
âFuck, itâs the cops. We gotta go.â
âCops?â
âCome on.â
Hongjoong grabbed you and pulled you off the hood of the car, shoving you into the backseat. San was already behind the wheel, and once Hongjoong was in the passenger seat you began to move. You could barely sit up properly in the back, the car going so fast so quickly, it made you nervous.
âCan you⊠like slow down or somethingâŠâ
âGotta outrun the cops.â San apologized. âI donât feel like spending a night in jail, or getting my baby impounded.â
âAlright thenâŠâ
âYou good back there baby?â Hongjoong asked.
âYeah⊠yeah⊠I didnât know cars could go this fastâŠâ
âWell hold on tight.â
Somehow you managed to get your seat belt on, and kept your head low. You were definitely scared but this was also quite exhilarating.
âDo you guys do this often?â
âWhat? Run from the cops?â San questioned.
âYeahâŠâ
âMaybe more than most.â
âThose pigs rarely find us racing.â Hongjoong said. âBut I guess even they get lucky sometimes.âÂ
You almost hit your head a few times on the journey, but when San swerved off the main road into a parking garage without warning, you smashed your face against the headrest of the seat in front of you.
âY/n! Are you okay!?â
Hongjoong quickly got out of the car and checked on you, seeing you had a bit of a nosebleed. San had also gotten out, looking into the back.
âLook what you did!â
âWe got away, didnât we!â
âIâm fine.â You assured. âDid I get any blood on your seats?â
âWho cares about that.â
âItâs expensiveâŠâ
âCars can be fixed, canât say the same about people. Come on, get some fresh air.â
You got out of the car, San coming over to hand you some tissues to clean up the blood. They were really worried about you, but you were fine. Now that the immediate danger had passed, you found yourself smiling.
âThat was insane. You guys really know how to drive. I could never imagine outrunning the cops. I guess itâs not just about being fast.â
âItâs a whole other world behind the wheel.â San said. âSorry this is how you got a taste.â
âAt least Iâm not in a jail cell, right?â
âExactly.â
You all hung around for about an hour to let the heat die down. Then you drove back to the Ateez house, meeting up with the rest of the crew and a few others who had escaped the police. Thatâs when you got a call from Chan and told him that you were alright and with Ateez. He said heâd come by to get you, so just wait for him.
âYou know you could just stay the night.â Wooyoung suggested. âWe got plenty of room for you.â
âI appreciate that, but I have classes in the morning.â
âWe can take you.â
âIf I show up in one of your dope ass cars, I will get so many questions.â
âAre you not already the center of attention at school?â
âI go to a big university, plenty of other people get more attention than me.â
âThen theyâre all blind.â Mingi yelled. âYou are the prettiest thing Iâve ever seen.â
âStop it before I die of embarrassment.â
You played a few games while you waited around for Chan. Despite their desire for you to stay, you couldnât, and said you would some other time. You wished the good night and went on your way with Chan. Once you were alone with him you had questions.
âWhat the hell was that tonight?â
âWhat?â
âThe cops showing up?â
âYou think I control all the police? Sometimes they get wind of a race and come to arrest people. Also, not every other cop in the area knows weâre undercover. This was bound to happen.â
âAnd if I got caught?â
âI would bail you out.â
âNow you say that.â
âWell now youâre part of the team. Besides, a lot of people split up, us included. It was a good opportunity to see what these guys look like driving away from the police.â
âTrue.â
âAre you okay though? Whatâs with the blood?â
âOh, minor nosebleed. Iâm fine, just a bit scared by the whole thing.â
âI should have warned you better about that.â
âItâs fine. Made me blend in with my clueless friend cover.â
âSo, Ateez again?â
âThey like me. Not the best idea to put all my eggs in one basket I know, but if I get close to at least one crew, I can get them to spill tea on the others. Youâre still the new ones, but the others might know about the robberies and whoâs carrying them out.â
âPerhaps. Just donât do anything dangerous.â
âI know, I know.â
Undercover work was more of a night job for you, so during the day you lived your life as normal. Youâd text some of the other racers throughout the day, acting like friends, but there wasnât much else. You thought you could keep these lives separate, but they had other plans.
âY/n!â
You were heading off campus to go home when a car honk and your name being called caught your attention. You looked over to see Jongho waving at you excitedly, Seonghwa leaning against the car. Your eyes went wide in surprise, and Jongho hurried over to you.
âDone for the day?â
âI⊠yeah⊠how did you find me? I donât think I ever told you-â
âWhen you know the right people you can find anyone. Also money, come on, I bet you havenât eaten yet.â
âOh, well-â
âThe others are waiting.â
You couldnât argue with Jongho as he took your hand and led you to the car. There really was no way to say no, so you went along. They took you to a restaurant, meeting up with the rest of Ateez there. The boys were happy to see you, asking about your day and listening intently. The restaurant you were at was quite fancy, and there werenât even prices on the menu. They of course told you not to worry, that everything was on them and you should just enjoy yourself.
âWhat do you guys even do with your free time? Donât you all have lives?â
âIs that meant to be an insult?â Yunho questioned.
âNo, no, of course not. I just⊠you all had some time today to take me out to dinner. One or two of you would make sense, but all eight of you? What do you do when youâre not behind the wheel?â
âWhatever we want.â Wooyoung said. âWatch TV, go out into town, shop, legally drive.â
âAll of you?â
âMore or less.â Hongjoong added. âAnd we hang out with each other.â
âDonât you have⊠family responsibilities? Some of you-â
âNot really.â Seonghwa cut in. âOur parents rarely see us as a good fit for anything.â
âOh⊠sorry⊠I didnât mean to pry⊠Iâm a bit jealous though, about the freedom you have.â
âJealous?â
âYou do as you please everyday, no financial worries, or worries about what your future will look like. It can be whatever you want, and you can change your mind at any time.â
âYouâre talking about stability.â Jongho corrected. âWhich isnât out of reach for you, or anyone. Youâre studying and making plans for your future. One day youâll have your career and everything you could want.â
âBut thereâs no guarantee for me. You guys were born with stability⊠I have to tryâŠâ
âDoes it worry you that much?â Mingi asked. âYour future?â
âYeahâŠâ
âBut youâre so young. Thereâs still so much life for you. Studying and making plans, it sounds like where youâre supposed to be. Itâs rare to have everything put together at your age.â
âI guessâŠâ
âHey, letâs just focus on today.â Yeosang said. âWeâre all together sharing a meal, and each otherâs company. You always gotta enjoy the little things.â
âYouâre right about that.â
They all shifted the topic over to happier things, ultimately picking up your mood. Dinner wasnât the only plan for the night. So you wound up with drinks and karaoke, letting the time split away in a haze of joy. You donât know when you finally left, but you didnât go home.Â
âIs there a party at your place tonight?â
âNo. Do you want there to be?â San asked.Â
âNo⊠nobody else needs to come.â
âNo? How come?â
âCause I want you all to myself.â
You vaguely remembered being drunk in the back of a car with San. You were leaning against, your breath against his neck, and he was looking at you like you were the only thing in the world. His eyes lingered on your lips, and he couldnât help himself. San leaned in to kiss you, and you kissed back. The two of you got closer, deepening the kiss, and then you roughly got pulled away.
âI want a turn.â
Wooyoung tasted differently, but his kiss was just as deep. San wasnât just going to sit back, coming in close, his lips against your neck. Youâve never really had attention like that before, so you were quite happy.
âTake it easy back there.â Yunho commented. âDonât distract me.â
âKeep your eyes on the road.â Mingi stated. âWeâll get a turn later.â
When the car came to a stop Wooyoung and San were pulled away from you. Next thing you knew Yunho was helping you out and then carrying you in his arms.
âYouâre not drunk.â
âI had to drive, remember?â
âHm⊠thatâs sadâŠâ
âI can drink now that weâre home.â
âYeah?â
âWill you drink with me?â
âSure. I can go for another round.â
âYa, ya.â Hongjoong interrupted. âWeâre not trying to give you alcohol poisoning, baby. No more drinks for you.â
âCome on⊠need even orange juice?â
âJuice is fine, but nothing alcoholic.â
âYes captain!â
You giggled and held on to Yunho, going into the house and to the kitchen. He set you down on the counter, getting a glass and some bottles. You reached for one but Yeosang took it from you.
âWhat did we say?â
âI just wanted to pour Yunho a drink.â
âHm⊠I can do that.â
âOkay.â
Yeosang gave you a chaste kiss on your cheek. He had a few drinks with Yunho, and you enjoyed your juice. You couldnât really keep up with the conversation, but they found your babbling cute. You didnât know how long you stayed up, but more came to join in, and you could vaguely remember the soft kisses and hands all over your body. It all felt so nice you never wanted it to end, but your body had to tap out at some point.
â€
âHmâŠâ
You took in a soft breath as you came to, stretching your limbs while in bed, slowly waking up. When you opened your eyes the peace of the morning was shot down. You didnât recognize the room you were in, which means you werenât home. You quickly got out of bed, only to stumble to the ground, your legs a bit shaky. You werenât in your own clothes either, instead wearing your panties and an oversized shirt, no bra either.
âFuck, fuck, fuckâŠâ
Wasnât hard to imagine what had happened. You looked around the room, finding some pants, they fit well enough, and some shoes to put on. None of this was your own but you needed to move. Thankfully your phone was on the nightstand, and you started looking into calling yourself a ride. You carefully peeked out the room, seeing the empty hall. By now there was no doubt where you were. It was the Ateez house, and you could not remember last night.
âMorning.â
You were creeping down the hall when you heard a voice and immediately froze. You slowly turned around, giving Mingi a shy wave.
âHiâŠâ
âYouâre just in time for breakfast, come on.â
âI should really get going though⊠uh, where are my clothes?â
âIn the dryer. You spilled some juice on yourself.â
âOh⊠rightâŠâ
âYou donât remember?â
âLast nightâs a blur for me right now⊠and I donât-â
âWe didnât do anything.â
âHuh?â
âWe didnât fuck you if thatâs what youâre worried about.â
âI⊠IâŠâ
âNot that we wouldnât, but weâd rather you be sober.â
âOhâŠâ
âWe did kiss you up and down though.â
âUhâŠâ
âCome on, breakfast.â
Mingi took your hand and led you downstairs to the dining room. The other boys greeted you, Seonghwa and Yunho setting up the table.
âCan I help with anything?â
âJust take a seat, we got this.â Seonghwa smiled.
âThanksâŠâ
Everything smelled so good, and you were quite amazed by the fact they could cook. Yeosang and Jongho served you, making sure you got the best of everything.
âAre you feeling alright?â Hongjoong asked. âI got some hangover soup for you if you need it.â
âIâm okay, not as bad as I could be.â
âIâm glad.â
âSo then⊠this is dumb⊠but you all really live here together?â
âYeah, our shared space away from responsibilities and family and all that nonsense.â Wooyoung said. âYouâre more than welcome to move in, weâd love to have you.â
âOh no, I doubt I could pay rent for a place like this. Besides, Seonghwa told me you guys were planning to move soon.â
âRight⊠forgot about thatâŠâ
âBesides⊠last night⊠why didnât you take me home?â
âCause you were drunk.â Yunho explained. âWe couldnât just leave you alone. Youâre also assuming we know where you live.â
âRight⊠sorryâŠâ
âWe do, but itâs more about you being alone.â
âYou were also sucking face with San and Wooyoung,â Mingi added. âSo itâd be mean to send you home alone.â
You felt your face start to burn. âUh⊠I⊠umâŠâ
âDonât tease her.â Jongho said. âLast night was enough fun for everyone.â
âI hear venom in those words.â San chuckled. âIs it cause she was in my room and not yours?â
âWatch it.â
âThatâs not how you speak to your hyung.â
âGuys, calm down.â Yeosang stated. âCan we just enjoy breakfast together?â
âFine.â
âGood. Y/n, Iâll take you home after this.â
âYa! No fair!â
You giggled. âThanks, Yeosang.â
After breakfast your clothes were dry, so you were good to go. The boys packed you some hangover cures, but of course San and Wooyoung tagged along to drop you off.
âThanks for last night, it was a lot of fun, even if somethings are hazy.â
âNo problem, just let us know if you need anything.â Yeosang assured. âGet some rest.â
âYou too.â
It was certainly strange to spend time with Ateez outside of the racing, and parties, but it was also nice. Outside of being suspects in a criminal case, they were good people and their heart seemed to be in the right place. You didnât tell Chan about this, knowing heâd be worried about you spending time with Ateez unsupervised. The problem is this wasnât a one time thing. You began to see Ateez more often. Some would come by for lunch, or find you around campus and just spend time with you. Little by little, visit by visit, they felt more like friends than anything else. Although you couldnât hide it forever. The chemistry that others would see at the track spoke for itself.
âY/n.â
âHm?â
âCan we talk?â
âSure.â
You had been spectating a race with Hongjoong when Chan came over, pulling you away. You went over to his area, getting into one of his cars. The windows were tinted, and he put on some music to fill the silence.
âWhatâs up? I donât think we should be talking-â
âWhatâs going on between you and Ateez?â
âUh⊠wellâŠâ
âAll of a sudden you seem real close to them.â
âI did say it was a good idea to get close with one group and see-â
âHow close?â
âWhat?â
âHave you slept with them?â
âChan!â
âIâm serious. Socializing and gathering information is one thing, but if youâve crossed a line-â
âI cannot believe youâd ask this!â
âThese guys are suspected criminals!â
âAnd when was the last time a robbery was committed? What if your crew moved on and youâre all just here driving in circles? Did you think about that?!â
âY/n, these people are dangerous, criminals or not, and I donât want you getting so mixed up with them.â
âWell Iâm not sleeping with them, okay? And these guys are just normal people! Just cause your suspected criminals are good drivers, doesnât mean they do this illegal street racing stuff. Maybe theyâre normal race car drivers, have you looked into that? Or maybe they donât race at all besides the-â
âEnough!â
ââŠâ
âIâm taking you home, and I want you out of my case, understood?â
âYouâre unbelievable!â
âAm I clear!â
âCrystal! And Iâll take myself home!â
Before Chan could yell some more you got out of the car, slamming the door. You stormed off, heading out of the VIP area and into the regular crowd. You just needed to get to the main road and could get a ride from there.
âY/n-â
âLeave me-â
While you were on the move you suddenly felt someone grab your arm. You quickly yanked yourself free, beginning to yell but stopping when you realized it was Mingi.
âSorry, I didnât⊠sorryâŠâ
âAre you alright? I saw you storming off and leaving the race course.â
âIâm just not feeling well, so Iâm heading home early.â
âOh, Iâm sorry to hear. I can take you home, itâd be better-â
âNo, itâs alright.â
âI insist. I donât like the idea of you going home alone at this hour.â
âMingi-â
âPlease. Maybe we should get some ice cream first.â
You chuckled. âThatâs not a bad idea.â
You went with Mingi, waiting for him as he brought his car around. He was serious about the ice cream, finding a place still open and getting you a sweet treat.
âAre you seriously okay?â
âWell Iâm feeling better now.âÂ
âDo you want to talk about it?â
âItâs nothing really. Itâs just⊠Chan really doesnât like me being around all this stuff⊠the racing and all thatâŠâ
âDoes he not like us?â
âHonestly⊠I donât think he doesâŠâ
âI get your childhood friends, but youâre your own person, and capable of making your own decisions.â
âI know, he knows, but he still worries.â
âI would too. So, what are you going to do?â
âI donât know⊠but I have a lot to think about.â
You stayed with Mingi for a while, small conversations and silence, just appreciating his company. Looking back you probably shouldnât have yelled at Chan like that, but thinking about that whole conversation frustrated you all over again. Maybe you both overreacted, or it was just you. Either way you werenât sure what you should do, for now you just wanted to ignore everything, and Mingi knew that. So instead of taking you home as he said, he took you back to his own place. Telling you it was probably best to go somewhere Chan wouldnât find you immediately, giving you both some proper space.
You thanked Mingi for his thoughtfulness, and ultimately passed out in his room. He had informed the rest of his crew that you were in the house so they wouldnât be surprised when they got home. Also to ease any worries if anyone asked about you, not that they would say where you were. The boys were happy to see you in the morning, acting like you had stayed over and not talking about the night prior. You were grateful for that, remembering that Ateez were just as much your friends as Chan and the rest of Stray Kids were. You could make your own decisions about the company you kept.
âY/n, your birthday is coming up.â
âWhat? How did you-â
âItâs us.â Yunho smiled. âHow could we not know?â
âI suppose youâre right.â
âSo, got any plans?â
âUh, well, not really, havenât thought about it. My friends usually throw me a semi-surprise party.â
âHow about this year you spend it with us?â Seonghwa suggested. âWeâll throw you a big party right here.â
âYeah! Weâll invite everyone, and have a big cake, and lots of presents.â Wooyoung added. âItâll be great!â
âI donât knowâŠâ
âItâll be fun, the best birthday party ever.â Yeosang said. âIf you want that is, we wonât push it, but you should let us treat you for your special day too.â
âIâll think about it.â
âA big party would be way more fun.â San mentioned. âSo think hard about it.â
âI-â
Your phone started ringing, halting the conversation. When you looked at the caller ID you saw it was Chan, getting nervous. You got up and stepped away from the table, going into the room next over.
âHello?â
âHey, Iâm at your place, could you let me in? So we can talk?â
âUh⊠about that⊠Iâm not home right nowâŠâ
âNot⊠where are you?â
âJust⊠uh, just a friendâs place.â
âFriend? Donât tell me youâre with Ateez?â
âAnd if I am?â
âWhat did we talk about last night?â
âWe didnât talk, you yelled at me.â
âCause Iâm worried about you being alone with these guys. Suspects or not, they are not a good influence on you.â
âAnd you are? Look at the company you keep.â
âThatâs part of-â
âWhatever. Iâm going home now anyway, please donât be there when I arrive.â
You hung up without waiting to hear him speak. You were already upset about last night, and this wasnât helping.
âYou okay?â
âHuh?â
âYou didnât sound too happy.â Hongjoong admitted, having followed you. âEverything alright?â
âI guess. I have to get home, so thanks for breakfast.â
âIâll drop you off, your house, promise this time.â
âFine.â
It was better to get a ride than to call for one. No one else tagged along this time, as Hongjoong didnât let them. He took you home as he said, although when you got there you noticed Chanâs car, meaning he was waiting for you.
âY/n?â
âYou know what, letâs have that party.â
âYeah?â
âYup.â
âGreat. Weâll take care of everything, so donât worry. Weâll pick you up on your special day.â
âThanks.â
âTake care.â
âYou too.â
You thanked Hongjoong for the ride, going up to your apartment. As you feared Chan was there waiting for you. There was silence between you until you were both inside.
âYou were supposed to go home last night.â
âMingi had other ideas. Took me out for ice cream first, and I didnât want to come back here.â
âYou could have let me know.â
âAnd have you show up at their place in the morning? No thanks.â
âLook, about last night. I shouldnât have yelled at you. Iâm sorry. I worry about you getting involved with them and if-â
âThatâs the key word, if. Look, I get Ateez is on your list of suspects, and all Iâm doing is gathering information. I donât intend to stay friends with them if theyâre found guilty, or not. This is just part of the job, right?â
âExcept it was never your job to take on.â
âI volunteered for this, so you donât bear the responsibility here.â
âI let you, so I do. And I was serious about you stepping away.â
âAnd how exactly do you think I should do that? All those guys know me, they like me.â
âJust tell them youâre focusing on school. Distance yourself and Iâm sure theyâll just forget.â
âI guessâŠâ
âAre we good?â
âSure.â
âOkay. Iâll get going then, since I know you didnât want to see me right now.â
âBingo. Have a good day.â
âYou too.â
Of course you didnât entirely listen to Chan. You knew he had a point, and you didnât exactly lie when you said youâd cut ties with these people once the job was done. That wasnât now though. They were your friends and you wanted to maintain the relationship. Especially considering what happened. A few days later it was on the news. A robbery had taken place, and this time the criminals had left behind a message. You rushed over to Chanâs place once you saw the news. He didnât want to share information, but he couldnât stop you once you were through the door.
âSo you have a name now?â
âYes. The graffiti left behind was a black flag with a skull and crossbones along with a name, the Black Pirates.â
âSo thatâs whoâs been behind the last few robberies.â
âIt seems so.â
âAnd for your information, they are street racers.â Minho added. âSo you were spot on about comparing the driving styles.â
âReally? Who do they match?â
âThe juries still out on that, but the way they moved is similar to what weâve seen in the races.â
âWe also got a number this time.â Felix stated. âFrom what the cameras picked up before they got taken out there seems to be eight pirates.â
âEight? So wouldnât that rule out the smaller groups like Mons-â
âNot exactly.â Jeongin cut in. âJust cause we saw eight this time, doesnât mean thereâs always been eight.â
âBut it would make sense. Thereâs always been two getaway cars.â
âThere could be some members of the Black Pirates that donât participate in illegal street racing.â Hyunjin explained. âOr vice versa, given there are groups with more than eight members, like NCT. They could alternate depending on the hit, or have outside help.â
âSo we donât really have much.â
âWe know weâre looking in the right place.â Seungmin said. âNow itâs just about finding the evidence, and catching the culprit.â
âSo it is progress.â
âAny bit is better than none.â
That was good to hear, even if this whole operation was now months in. At least they knew that this wasnât all a waste and they were on the right track. That in itself must be a huge relief to them, for you too actually. You may not really understand the danger, especially when they first started. Surely getting in must have been a lot of trouble on its own. Still, you had your own things to focus on. It was your special day after all, and you were quite excited. Your friends usually threw you a party, which meant you needed to tell them about this yearâs plans. You were going to, but when you brought up your birthday they said they got the invites already.
Apparently Ateez had already invited all your friends, and they were very excited about the party this year. They had lots of questions regarding your new friends, but promised to bother you about it later because today was your day. Classes werenât that difficult, and you planned to go home and get dressed, but there were other plans. As you were making your way off campus you were surprised to find Mingi and Yunho waiting for you. There were already plans in place for your special day, and that started with some shopping. You should premiere a new outfit at your party, and they were gonna take care of everything.
You couldnât really say no, even once you saw the price tags. They took you to some high class stores, places youâd never shop at normally. At first Mingi tried to hide the price tags from you, telling you to pick what you liked, but you couldnât help it. You thought you were dreaming when you saw the zeroes, but they told you money wasnât a problem. Took a lot of coaxing, and they told you this was basically your present. They wanted you to look nice, for your beauty to shine, and it would be unfair to deny them that. So you caved, and looked only at the styles and found something you liked.
The boys had you walk out in your new outfit, and had a few others to change into later in the night. From there you went over to the house, and you were left in awe as you stood at the front door. The place was mostly decorated, some people still working on the final touches, but it looked insane. Everything practically screamed Happy Birthday at you, and it honestly felt so surreal. The rest of the boys came over to give you birthday wishes and ask you how everything looked. It was incredible already. The snacks and food laid out on the tables, all the party games they had scattered around the house too. You had never been to such a party. Even the previous events they had before was nothing compared to this.
âI have to ask⊠you invited my friends⊠how did you get their numbers?â
âWe just borrowed your phone for a bit.â Yeosang admitted.
âWhen?â
âSometime ago.â
âBut-â
âThatâs not the concern right now. If you have anything more to do to get ready, go ahead.â Seonghwa suggested. âYou can use my room.â
Seonghwa took your shopping bags and led you up to his place. It was still early so the party wouldnât be starting soon. You were pretty much ready to go aside from some makeup, but you held off on that. Since you had time you worked on homework, wanting to have one less thing to worry about so you could truly enjoy the night. Of course if Ateez caught you theyâd probably say something, but this was for your own benefit. Thankfully you finished your assignments just as you heard music blasting through the house.
Wooyoung was the one to bring you down to the party. Even if you didnât know a lot of the guests, they all seemed to know you were the birthday girl. So you got many birthday wishes, more than ever before. When your friends showed up they were so excited to see you, and everything else that was going on for you. They couldnât believe such a party had been thrown for you, and graciously thanked the boys of Ateez for their generosity. You were a bit embarrassed, but you could dwell on those feelings some other time. The night went on, and you spent lots of time with your friends. It almost felt like you were at a club more than anything, and with no worries about creeps bothering you.Â
âMind if I steal a dance?â San whispered in your ear, joining you on the dance floor. âYou look smokin.â
âYou tell me this now?â
âWell, I can say it again and again if you need me to.â
âHm, that sounds nice.â
âOrâŠâ
âOr?â
âHow about I give you your birthday present?â
âPresent? Isnât that after the cake?â
âYou can have my present first.â
âHmâŠâ
âCome on.â
San took your hand and apologized to your friends as he was going to borrow you for a while. They all smiled and gave you thumbs up, waving you off. You were quite curious as to what kind of present San had for you. It could quite possibly be anything. So when he led you down to the garage, you were starting to think he bought you a car. That would be insane, and you wouldnât even know what to do with it. Although things quickly changed when you saw someone else.
âThereâs the birthday girl.â Wooyoung waved, sitting on the hood of a car. âYou ready for your present?â
âYeah. You guys got me a car?â
âWhat? No, this is one of our race cars.â
âOh⊠then⊠whatâs my present?â
âUs.â
âYou?â
âWe figured tonight we should give you a present you wonât forget.â
Wooyoung opened the back door of the car, San leading you over to it. He had you lay back and then he climbed on top of you. Although you put your hands on his chest to stop him.
âYou want to do this⊠in your car?â
âWell, I want it to smell like you. That way youâre with us the next time we use it, even if not physically.â
âOh⊠well you guys are certainly something else.â
âIf you donât want to, just say so.â
âThis is my birthday present, isnât it? I want to receive it in full.â
âAs you wish, princess.â
You had never done it in a car before, but San seemed to have some experience. It made you a bit jealous, but it was all to make sure you enjoyed yourself tonight. Of course Wooyoung was still there, waiting his turn. He was sitting in the driverâs seat, watching you from the rear view mirror and stroking his length, only allowed to imagine himself on top of you for now. On occasion youâd make eye contact with him, and you could see the lust in his eyes. He might not even let San finish and just go over and yank him off you, but he was a patient boy.Â
You on the other hand, not so much since San being proper with his prep work. When he finally gave it to you, relief washed over your face. He stretched you out so good, like it was a perfect fit, but since he had already prepped you, he didnât give you the satisfaction of feeling him whole and started moving. Obscenities spilled from your lips as you grabbed onto whatever you could, letting him take control.
âFuck, fuck, SanâŠâ
âJust take it like a good girl. I know you can.â
âHmâŠâ
âDonât fuck her brains out.â Wooyoung commented. âI get my turn after you.â
âSheâs the birthday girl, and deserves the best, so Iâma give it to her.â
He wasnât wrong there, giving you everything he had. At times you swear you saw white, and he put all his attention into your pleasure. He was adamant about holding out and making you cum first, which he succeeded in. Your body shook underneath him as your orgasm took over, your center squeezing him tightly and forcing him to spill his seed inside you. San had been trying to hold out but he couldnât deny you in the moment.
âFuck, y/n, you feel so tight.â
âAw, fuck, thatâs not fair.â Wooyoung whined. âThat should be me.â
âDid you make a mess in the front?â San asked. âSeriously?â
âYou made a mess in the back.â
âNot alone.â
âStop bragging. Itâs my turn anyway.â
In a matter of seconds Wooyoung had gotten out of the car and went over to the back. He pulled Sanâs pants up and shoved him to the side, wanting to get a good look at you.
âSo pretty.â
âHm.â
Wooyoung gently caressed your cheek, his hands then trailing down your body. You were so sensitive at the moment, the slightest touch made you shiver. He loved the goofy smile on your face, clearly still high.
âYou ready for more baby girl?â
âWill you be gentle?â
Wooyoung chuckled. âNo.â
âGood.â
That was all he needed to get started. Wooyoung dipped his fingers into your sloppy center, scooping up some of Sanâs seed and using it to write his name out on your stomach.
âI think we forgot to ask, but are you taking anything? Or is San gonna become a daddy?â
âIâm okay, youâre the only daddy I need tonight.â
âFuck, baby girl, keep talking like that and Iâm gonna make you a mommy.â
âBet.â
Wooyoung wasnât gonna wait around much longer, angling himself perfectly and grabbing your hips before thrusting into the mess between your legs. You were still so sensitive, so his rough movements made you shake all over again. You bit your lip as the last bits of your previous orgasm fluttered through your body, and then got replaced by Wooyoungâs actions. He wasnât San, but he had his own way of making you feel good. He took advantage of your state too, rubbing your clit and groping your breasts to divide your attention. He had all kinds of signals going off in your brain.
âYouâre such a good fuck.â
âHm⊠moreâŠâ
âI know, baby, I got you.â
Wooyoung pulled you closer, getting relentless as your words motivated him to do better. He wanted to watch you unravel beneath him, and the desire was taking over. You didnât notice when San had gotten himself together, but he had gone to the other side of the car and looked down on you. Although Wooyoung tried to push him away, especially when San started kissing you. It didnât work though as he kept coming back, even when Wooyoung scolded him. Still, he could only really focus on you, wanting to make you scream his name, which is exactly what he got. You grabbed his arm tightly, mumbling out for him to go faster and make you cum. Your words excited him and he gave you just that, holding your face with his free hand as you climaxed.
He watched your lips tremble, eyes roll back in ecstasy, knowing he was the reason for your actions. That, and feeling you hug him so tight, was enough to push him over the edge. Wooyoung locked eyes with you, wanting to ride out his high while he made your body tremble, watching everything you did. Your smile filled him with such satisfaction, he leaned down to kiss you, lips then trailing down your body. With two orgasms under your belt you were quite tired, and sore, and far more sensitive than before. Wooyoung stayed with you for a moment before pulling out, giving you some more chaste kisses. He gently pulled up your legs, trying to make sure you were comfortable, and San got into the back so you could rest your head in his lap. Thankfully you werenât cold, even if you were partially undressed. The heat from their love was enough to keep you warm.
âYou good?â San asked while petting your head. âDid you like your present?â
â⊠yeah⊠so goodâŠâ
âWeâre glad to hear.â
âWe should have bounced her on the stick shift.â Wooyoung commented from the driverâs seat. âBefore we filled her up. Would have made it all the more special.â
âNext time perhaps, what do you say, y/n?â
âHmâŠâ
You stayed semi curled up for a while, just letting your body wind down after all that fun. Although you couldnât stay there long. You had shut your eyes, partially falling asleep, only to open them wide at the sound of knocking on the roof of the car. You looked over and found Yunho peeking in and taking you in.
âWhatâs this?â
âShe was receiving her gifts.â San stated. âAnd sheâs very happy with them.â
âIs that so?â
âHm.â You hummed in agreement.
âWell, can the birthday girl come up for cake?â
âCake?â
âWe canât cut the cake without you, everyoneâs waiting.â
âUhâŠâ
âDonât worry, Iâll help you and itâll be quick.â
Yunho helped you sit up and get your clothes back on. He didnât comment on the mess between your legs but he did help you clean up a bit. It wouldnât be good to have cum running down your leg while everyone sang happy birthday to you. Once you were presentable you got out of the car, only to realize your legs were shaky. Yunho effortlessly picked you up in his arms bridal style.
âIâll take you up.â
âThanks.â
You were a bit shy, but you couldnât object to this. Yunho carried you upstairs to the party, taking you outside to where the cake had been brought out. Everyone cheered when you arrived, Jongho lighting the candles on the cake, one of many actually. Yunho gently put you down, and allowed you to use him to support yourself. Everyone got quiet and then the singing began. You had never heard so many people sing before, let alone with such excitement in their voice. You took a moment to make a wish and then blew out the candles. More cheers erupted, the cake began to get cut, and then everything went dark. One moment you were receiving hugs and good wishes, and then you had cake in your face.
You laughed as you wiped icing off your face, seeing Jongho with an empty plate of cake, and a revealing smile on his face. You quickly grabbed him and pressed messy kisses to his face, getting him covered in cake too. He seemed to enjoy it, although you couldnât stay that way. As the initial excitement calmed down, Yeosang led you and Jongho upstairs to clean up. You wound up in his room, and even though you tried to clean yourself up, he suggested getting in the shower. It wasnât a bad idea, especially considering the type of gift you had received already. So you didnât hesitate to take your top off, leaving Yeosang and Jongho in shock.
âWhat? Itâs not anything you havenât seen before.â
âI⊠IâŠâ Jongho mumbled. âYeah, but I didnât think you were so bold.â
âNeither did I.â
âIâll get you some clean clothes.â Yeosang offered. âIâll be back.â
You went into the bathroom and stripped off the rest of your clothes, hopping into the tub. You took a quick shower just to clean yourself up, and get any sugar out of your hair. When you finished you stepped out with a towel wrapped around you, even though you had your bra and panties beneath. Yeosang handed you some clothes, and once you were dressed Jongho cleaned himself up. It wasnât as much as you so he just needed to wash his face.
âCleaned up already?â
Seonghwa softly knocked and entered the room with a plate of cake, happy to see you were alright. He would probably scold Jongho but you told him to leave it alone, surely someone else would cake your face.
âYou guys really went all out for me.â
âOf course, itâs your birthday. You should be celebrated to the maximum.â
âI really appreciate everything you guys have done for me today.â
âWell the night is still young. Here, you should enjoy some cake.â
Seonghwa was happy to feed you, and the cake was quite good too. Although you were getting icy all over your lips. Seonghwa was gonna reach over and wipe it off when Yeosang grabbed his hand and decided to kiss you, cleaning up the icing along the way.
âYummy.â
âYa!â Seonghwa yelled. âYou canât just go around kissing her!â
âWhy not? I heard WooSan already gave her a present too.â
âWhat?â
âYeah, they went down to the garage.â Jongho added. âI bet they made a mess.â
âThe garage, is that true?â
âUh⊠wellâŠâ You were a bit shy, trying to hide your face. âYesâŠâ
âI see⊠did you like it?â
âIt was⊠niceâŠâ
âI didnât know you were such a bad girl.â
âWhat?â
âYouâre supposed to get presents after cake, not before.â
âOh, well⊠I didnât-â
âSince youâve had cake now. I suppose I can give you my present too.â
âSure. What did you get me?â
âA very unique gift.â
Seonghwa put down the plate and grabbed your hand. He kissed it softly and then led it down to rest on his crotch. Your eyes went wide and you looked up at him, feeling more shy than before. He just smirked.
âWhat? You think I donât know what those two troublemakers did? There are cameras everywhere, baby.â
âOhâŠâ
âNo need to be shy. Although I understand you might be a bit tired, Iâll take good care of you though.â
âAh, wellâŠâ
âAll of us.â Yeosang added.
âHuh?â
âDid you think we were just gonna leave you with Seonghwa? Thatâs hardly fair.â
âSo all three of youâŠâ
âCan you handle us?â Jongho questioned. âItâs okay if you canât, weâll teach you.â
âYou guys are being too much.â
âItâs only fair. The birthday girl has to get the best for her special day.â
Seonghwa leaned in close to kiss your cheek before taking the plate and setting it down on the dresser. Yeosang had you move up and lay back on the bed. The clothes you were wearing were loose fitting and easy to remove, leaving you in your undergarments.
âYouâre all being very bold tonight.â
âWe have been waiting for this too.â
âReally? You must have been so frustrated.â
âYou have no idea.â
Yeosang was pushed to the side as Seonghwa climbed on top of you, stealing a kiss and tasting cake on your lips. His hands explored your body, ultimately pushing up your bra to feel your breasts. He had been holding himself together, but he couldnât keep doing that. Seonghwa began to undress, getting you out of the last bits of clothes you had on too. Now that you were completely exposed he began pressing kisses all over your chest and lower stomach. Your focus was solely on him until a shirtless Yeosang crawled onto the bed and started kissing your hand. He made you giggle, which brought a smile to his lips.
Although Seonghwa wasnât happy about your attention elsewhere, so he got it back the only way he sought fit. You let out a ragged moan as Seonghwa pushed a finger into you without warning. Your eyes shot down at him, seeing the big smirk on his face. You didnât need that much prep, still recovering from the car sex. Which worked in your favor as you didnât have to wait too long for Seonghwa to fuck you. He was still a tease though, going slow with his fingers, pressing long kisses on your clit, making you whine at every point. You couldnât play his game for long.
âSeonghwa you better fuck me soon or Yeosang can go first.â
âDonât make threats like that.â
âItâs my birthday, isnât it? What I say goes.â
âTsk. I like a dominant woman, but tonight youâre at my mercy.â
Maybe you should be careful what you wish for. Seonghwa grabbed your hips tightly, pressing on the bruises that were forming thanks to Wooyoung, and swiftly pushed his length into you. He could have teased you, but since you asked for it, he was gonna give it to you, every last bit. Your eyes rolled to the back of your head and you gripped the bed sheets.
âFuckâŠâ
âYou wanted it.â
âYeah⊠keep goingâŠâ
âOh I will.â
Seonghwa started off gentle, wanting to let your body adjust, but he wasnât gonna be a tease for long. Before you knew it he was going at a relentless pace, making your whole body move with him. He wanted you to himself and pushed Yeosang away, holding your hands in his and watching you with lust in his eyes. You tried to keep your eyes on him, but whenever he hit your sweet spot you couldnât help but shut your eyes in bliss and tremble.
âYou like that?â
âHmâŠâ
You were close, and you could tell he was too as he was losing his rhythm. It was a bit funny to think you had cleaned yourself up only to wind up with your legs spread so soon. You were gonna get filled up, which reminded you to mention it. Although Seonghwa said he knew, having been listening in to your previous session.
âPervert.â Jongho commented.
âAs if youâre not gonna go look up the security footage later.â
âShut up.â
Seonghwa leaned in for a deep kiss as he kept his momentum going, freeing his hands from your grip and using them to play with you and push you over the edge. Your orgasm seemed to push him over the edge and he held you close as you both rode out the high together. He pressed his forehead against yours, the two of you breathless but with smiles on your faces.
âYou good?â
âNever better.â You exhaled. âAlthough Iâm not your first.â
âBut you can be my last.â
âHmâŠâ
âMove over!â Yeosang shoved Seonghwa off you. âMy fucken turn.â
âYa! I wasnât-â
âSheâs so delicate right now I wanna take advantage.â
You barely even heard the end of Yeosangâs statement before he pushed himself into you, making the cum in you overflow. He let out a delightful moan as your body trembled and accommodated him among the mess. You gripped the sheets, letting out a shaky moan. You were still coming down from your high when Yeosang took over, making it so pleasure and pain began mixing. His hands trailed your body, kneading your breasts and taking them into his mouth on occasion. You reached over to feel his body, looking down as well to see where you two met. You never had this much fun before, and this was surely the best birthday present ever.
âYou still with me, princess?â
âYeah⊠Iâm tryingâŠâ
âTrying?â Jongho questioned. âYouâre barely halfway done here.â
âYou jealous?â
âWho wouldnât be?â
âThen be a good boy and wait.â
Theyâd each have a turn but they really didnât like losing your attention. While you had been talking with Jongho, Yeosang slowed down, making you whimper. He didnât move, forcing you to grind down on him for your own satisfaction. Then without warning he started back up again, grabbing your hips, which were definitely gonna be purple tomorrow. He was just a tad bit upset and now really taking it out on you. So it wasnât long before another orgasm washed over you, making you shake and hold him tightly, which ultimately pushed him over the edge too.
âFuck, youâre so good⊠we should do it again.â
âYouâve had your turn, hyung.â Jongho commented.Â
âLet the maknae have their fun too.â Seonghwa added. âIf not for them we might not have gotten here.â
âSo I wasnât gonna get my present if not for Jongho?â
âOh you would have gotten it one way or another.â
Jongho did give you a minute to rest and recover, laying down at your side and taking your hand in his, kissing it gently. He looked so dreamy with you, and his eyes were so big and bright. You couldnât imagine what he had in store for you.
âAre you enjoying your party?â
âFor the bits Iâve been in, yeah.â
âThatâs good.â
Jongho started off slow and soft, knowing you were definitely sensitive. He carefully rolled on top of you, pressing soft kisses against your skin, making you feel very loved.Â
âWill you be alright?â
âYeah⊠just be yourself.â
âIf you can handle it.â
âI can.â
âThen Iâll test you on it.â
You laid with him for a while as he continued to pepper you with kisses. His touch would send sparks up your body, and when his lips finally reached your core you ran a hand through his hair. It was swollen and achy down there, but his gentle touch was soothing. You were lost in his softness that you didnât notice when he was getting himself ready until you felt him pushing into you. He gave it to you inch by inch, holding your legs apart, watching your mouth hang open in silent bliss.
âI got you baby girl.â
Jongho held your hands, rocking back and forth softly. You moved with him, eyes shut and soft whimpers escaping your lips. He was a different kind of good, and you didnât expect his strength. He slowed down a bit, picking you up in his arms and thrusting up into you. More soft moans escaped your lips into his ear, giving him strength and motivation. You wrapped your arms around him, using all your strength to hold on. He took care of the rest and managed to wring another orgasm out of you. He loved how you melted in his arms, and he could feel every little movement of your body as it was overwhelmed with pleasure.
Jongho pressed a kiss to your cheek, laying you back down on the bed and gently teasing you before he reached his own climax. This time he pressed his lips to yours, holding your hands tightly and riding out his own orgasm while feeding into yours. As you both caught your breath he laid beside you, still holding your hand. The other two had joined you in bed as well, all of you together in a little pile. You could feel the aches and bruises starting to form but you paid them no mind, still very happy with the overall experience.Â
âHappy birthday.â
âThanksâŠâ
You felt like you had probably fallen asleep for a bit, rightfully so. You awoke to the sounds of vibrating, sleepily sitting up and looking around. You were still in Yeosangâs room, and werenât entirely alone. Yeosang and Jongho were still with you, taking a nap too, but Seonghwa was gone. Regardless, your focus shifted to the vibrating noise, looking around the room. You got out of bed, legs a bit shaky, but you found the source, your phone. You were still half asleep, but once you saw the caller ID you were wide awake. The spike of adrenaline gave you the energy to put on a shirt and joggers and step out of the room to answer the call.
âHello?â
âHey, where are you?â
âOh, you know, out with friends. Itâs my birth-â
âWhere? I didnât get an invite to the party.â
âYou didnât? I would have thought-â
âY/n, please stop lying to me.â
âWa⊠what?â
âI saw the pictures your friends posted on social, and I recognized the place.â
âSoâŠâ
âI told you to stay away. They are-â
You were already feeling frustrated with the call when your phone was suddenly taken away. Hongjoong offered you a smile and hung up, turning your phone off.
âHongjoongâŠâ
âWhatâs wrong? The birthday girl shouldnât be sad on her special day.â
âUh⊠I⊠you didnât invite Chan?â
âOf course not. He doesnât like us, and there shouldnât be any negativity today.â
âBut-â
âDid he call to wish you a happy birthday?â
âNoâŠâ
âThen the right choice was made. Come on now, forget about the call and focus on the party. The night is still young.â Hongjoong held his hand out to you. âShall we?â
You knew Chan was gonna be upset about the way the call ended, even if it wasnât your fault. Still, even if he rushed over now to see you and yell, it would be best to enjoy yourself to the fullest. You took a breath and offered Hongjoong a smile, taking his hand.
âWe shall.â
âGood. Now I heard from Seonghwa that someone has been receiving presents.â
âI see word travels fast.â
âHave you been enjoying yourself?â
âYes. Itâs a great party.â
âIâm glad to hear.â
âI didnât know youâd-â
While walking your legs suddenly gave out, but Hongjoong managed to hold you up. The adrenaline of the call had worn off and the exhaustion of your previous activities was catching up to you now.
âSorryâŠâ
âNo need to apologize, I got you.â
You were trying to get your feet under you when Yunho and Mingi suddenly appeared. The two quickly took you from Hongjoong and helped you stand.
âYou good?â
âYeah, yeahâŠâ
âI didnât know Wooyoung and San did such a number on you.â
âYouâre forgetting they arenât the only ones to deliver their presents.â
âAre you serious?â Mingi questioned. âHow are you still awake baby girl?â
âNo idea⊠so are all of you just gifting me sex tonight?â
âDonât like it?â
âSeems a little cheap. I saw the boxes down thereâŠâ
âYouâre assuming sex is the only gift youâll get from us.â Hongjoong chuckled. âNot to mention this party. We spent quite a pretty penny on you.â
âYou didnât have to.â
âBut we wanted to.â
The boys carried you to another bedroom, Hongjoongâs, and set you down. Yunho gently grabbed your legs and massaged them a bit, getting you to lay back. Your shirt exposed a bit of your stomach, and he pulled it up further, seeing the marks.
âDamn, you really are having a fun night, arenât you?â
âI canât lie⊠itâs been the best.â
âThen let us continue, or at least bring this night to a close.â Hongjoong said. âIf you can manage it.â
âI wouldnât mind passing out with one of you guys in me.â
âPromise?â
Yunho pressed kisses to your cheek, pushing you up on the bed so you could rest comfortably. He got you out of your shirt and bra, taking one of your breasts into his mouth. You ran a hand through his hair, keeping him close. He tugged the joggers down, rubbing your through your panties for a moment. You were still wet down there, and messy. Yunho couldnât wait long before yanking your panties down and pushing two fingers into you. The wet slopping sounds seemed to please everyone, and Yunho quickly understood he didnât have to prep much, you were eager and waiting.
Yunho was quickly on you, not wanting to hear anyone else claim you first. He wasnât subtle, but swift with his motions. Your body was barely recovering from the last guy between your legs, but you figured you could handle a few more. Yunho was careful not to put any unnecessary strain on your body, but still made sure you were enjoying yourself. He had a nice rhythm going and you were truly relaxed. His touch was gentle but pleasurable, acting more like a lover than anything else. You were surprised he kept his pace throughout, even as he pushed you to the edge. Somehow he held himself together long enough for you to calm down before he went in hard and achieved his own high.
âFuck⊠youâre all gonna leave me bruised up tomorrowâŠâ
âAnd unable to walk.â Mingi commented. âThatâs a promise.â
âThen I expect to be carried.â
âI got you, princess.â
With that Mingi shoved Yunho aside, taking you into his arms and pulling you up. He sat down and had you resting in his lap. He gently held your waist, leading you to grind down on him. He still had his briefs on, but he didnât mind getting them stained with your juices and what Yunho had left in you. He pressed his head against yours, watching the blissed out smile on your face. You both could only last so long before your basic needs took over. You reached down to free Mingiâs cock, stroking it a bit and adjusting yourself to take him in. He helped you settle down on him, giving you a kiss as a reward.
âIâll do all the work, so just enjoy yourself.â
âHmâŠâ
You wrapped your arms around Mingi, resting your head on his shoulder. He reached around to grab your ass, making you yelp, but he just chuckled. You seemed comfortable so he began to move, being gentle at first, but he couldnât hold himself back. You grabbed him tightly, moaning into his ear. He was rough, or maybe it felt that way because you were so worn down already. Still he was good to you, holding you close and whispering such sweet words. You didnât know when he was getting close, but he certainly pushed you to cloud nine.
He laid back with you on top of him, still thrusting into you as you rode out your high with him, and soon enough he was adding to the mess between your legs. You shook more violently this time, but Mingi made sure you were alright. Once you settled he carefully laid you down on the bed, pressing soft kisses to your face. You let out low chuckles, smiling with a happy look on your face. Mingi stayed with you for a while, caressing your cheek. You might have fallen asleep if the bed didnât suddenly dip and you got turned around to face Hongjoong. He had a big smile on his face, reaching over to pet your head.
âHaving fun?â
âVeryâŠâ
âCan you accept another present?â
âMaybe⊠I want it either wayâŠâ
âWell isnât someone greedy.â
âBirthday girl, remember?â
âI do.â
Hongjoong leaned over to kiss your head, then your lips, then slowly trailed down your body. He took your hands in his and placed kisses on them too. He was gentle in how he moved your body about. His hands caressed your thighs as he pulled your legs apart. He could see how red and swollen your clit was, giving that a kiss as well and making you shiver. He slowly climbed on top of you, giving you more kisses. He whispered in your ear and let you know he was gonna fuck you, wanting you to hold yourself together for him. You promised to do so to the best of your ability. That was enough for him, whispering dirty things in your ear as he pushed himself into you, going inch by inch so you could feel everything.
Your body welcomed him, already feeling the tickles of an orgasm. By now you were so worn down you were floating in a state of bliss, and there wasnât any coming down. Not with the constant attention, and the fact youâve had more orgasms this night than ever before. Hongjoong certainly started off slow before getting into a gentle rhythm, his focus solely on you. He watched your face, the expressions you made as he moved around and pleased you. He kept his eyes locked with yours, and you did your best to maintain it, but you were certainly falling apart. Every touch felt like a mini orgasm, and you couldnât do much else but lie there and take it. Hongjoong was well aware of this, and he just wanted to make sure you finished right.
You donât know for sure if Hongjoong hit that sweet spot just right, or your body just broke down, but that final climax was something else. Your whole body trembled as the pleasure and pain mixed together across every inch of your being. Not to mention all the kisses Hongjoong added as he watched you become undone beneath him. You only knew when he climaxed cause you felt a warmth inside you, and could feel the overflow of cum just dripping out of you. The exhaustion was really hitting, and you could barely keep your eyes open. You tried to hold on to Hongjoong, but he just took your hands and kissed them, setting them down.
âWe wore you out baby, you should get some rest.â
âMy party thoughâŠâ
âItâs far from over. Take a little nap and Iâll clean you up, okay?â
âHmâŠâ
âGood girl.â
You definitely needed rest, and left yourself in their trusted arms. You closed your eyes and let yourself float in and out of consciousness. At some point you felt warm water along your skin, soft hands gently massaging your body, and being wrapped up in clean clothes. You felt a comfy bed beneath you, seeing some face blur past you at times, but you stayed in your own little world, drifting and resting. You didnât know how much time had passed, but you eventually had the strength to properly get up. You thought maybe youâd be alone to rest, but as you opened your eyes you found a sleepy little Jongho at your side. You reached over to pet his head, getting a little hum out of him, and having him open his eyes.
âHiâŠâ
âHey, are you feeling better?â
âIâm good⊠did you nap with meâŠâ
âA little break from the party doesnât hurt.â
âHm⊠yeahâŠâ
You carefully sat up, getting help from Jongho in the process. You felt sore all over, but you were happy, it had been a fun night, and it was a very lovely present.
âI have something for you.â Jongho handed you a little box. âAnother gift.â
âOh, whatâs this?â
You opened the box and started laughing, it was some birth control pills, and Jongho brought over some water.
âYou know I take birth control, right?â
âBut just in case, you canât be too safe.â
âYou donât wanna be a daddy?â
âOh, you better watch that mouth, I might take you up on the offer.â
âDonât worry. Iâm not ready to be a mother either.â
You took the pills and laid back down, taking in a breath and enjoying the comfortable bed. You wanted to go back down to the party, but you still didnât have the strength for that. You asked Jongho to help you get on your feet, even if your legs were still shaky. You managed to stand, but before you could take any steps you heard a loud commotion from out in the hall. Jongho heard too, seeming concerned when the door suddenly swung open.
âYA!â
Seeing and hearing Chan yelled startled you, and you collapsed back on the bed. You could see the anger on his face, making you fearful.
âI cannot believe you.â
âThis is a party.â Hongjoong exclaimed. âYou canât be yelling at the birthday girl.â
âShut up! I cannot believe any of you!â
Chan came over and shoved Jongho away, grabbing your arm and yanking you to your feet. You yelled and werenât able to stand, immediately falling to the ground. Chan looked at you in shock, kneeling down to take a closer look. He caught sight of some of the bruises on your neck, pulling up your shirt without asking and seeing all the other marks. He quickly got up and pinned Hongjoong against the wall.
âWhat the fuck did you do!â
Hongjoong chuckled. âItâs a party, and we were having fun. What do you want from me? It was all consensual, I swear.â
âChan!â You yelled. âLet him go! Iâm fine! I-â
âNot a word from you!
ââŠâ
âItâs her birthday and you come in yelling at her like this? What the hell is wrong with you?â
âThatâs funny, coming from you.â
Chan let Hongjoong go and came back over to you, pulling you up to your feet. You could barely stand, let alone walk, but he pulled you along anyway. You bit your lip to keep from making any noises and just did your best to follow. You struggled on the stairs and hid your face when you got to the bottom floor, not wanting to be seen, but of course Chan drew attention. Some of the other Ateez members noticed and rushed over, but you shook your head at them. Chan got you into his car, putting your seat belt on you and slammed the door shut. You hid your face, not able to meet anyone in the eye and stayed silent on the drive. You kept your head low, but as you looked around you noticed the streets were different.
âThis isnât the-â
âYou think Iâm taking you back to your place so they can go get you?â
âNo, I-â
âYou are unbelievable.â
âChan-â
âQuiet! I told you to break off from them and what do I find? You have no problem lying to my face now.â
âI-â
âI told you to be quiet.â
ââŠâ
âYouâll be staying with me until further notice.â
You wanted to explain yourself, to at least have your voice be heard, but given what Chan just did, and your current state, it was best to remain silent. So you did. When you got to Chanâs place he got you out of the car, holding your arm and pulling you along, a lot gentler this time. He plopped you down on the couch and came back with a med kit, wanting to take a better look at you. All you really had were bruises and some nail marks, nothing too serious, but he had to be sure. You were a bit nervous, but lifted up your shirt just enough so you didnât expose your breasts. Like you said nothing serious, and he was satisfied after checking.
âHere. Itâs your clothes, put them on.â
âThanksâŠâ
Your body wasnât so sore anymore, but you did struggle a bit to make it to the bathroom. You dressed into your clothes and returned to the living room. Chan was nowhere to be seen, but you knew where heâd be. You went over into his office, seeing him looking over some papers.
âChanâŠâ
âDonât. I donât wanna hear it.â
âBut-â
âYou went out with a bang, literally, so letâs leave it at that.â
âI-â
âPlease.â
âYeah⊠yeah thatâs fineâŠâ
You made your way over to Chanâs side, looking down at the papers on the table. You reached over to look some over, coming across an image from a CCTV.
âWhatâs this?â
âA partial plate from the last robbery.â
âYou got a plate?â
âPartial. I honestly thought the vehicles they used didnât have any plates, but it seems like they just cover them up.â
âIt seems fortune is on our- your side. Itâs progress.â
âYeah. Minho got a bit crazy and rammed into one of the vehicles. Guess that damaged the plate cover and we managed to catch a few digits.â
âYou gonna run this through your database?â
âThe car itself might not even be registered, could be a fake plate to begin with. Weâll still run it, although working with a partial plate is gonna make it difficult.âÂ
âAny bit of progress is better than none.â
âExactly.â
âIâm gonna get some rest.â
âYou do that.â
âDonât stay up too late.â
âNo promises.â
âNight.â
âGood night, and y/n?â
âHm?â
âHappy birthday.â
âThanks. Iâll see you in the morning.â
â€
Chan kept to his word and didnât let you leave his place. He drove you to and from school, always punctual. Even though he never said anything, you knew he was always looking around for others. You didnât get any messages from anyone, not that you would respond, but it really made you wonder what everyone thought. Surely word got around about what happened that night. Your friends didnât mention it either, just saying things went well. Of course Chan probably spoke with them beforehand, and you werenât gonna pry. So you just focused on getting your life back to normal, no more secret double life stuff going on. If only it was that easy.
âHowâs the body?â
You jumped at the voice that suddenly appeared, distracting you from your notes. Your first class had been canceled so you were in the library when someone approached you. The voice was familiar, and you were a bit shy to look up, so they took a seat instead.
âYouâre not hurt anywhere are you?â
âIâm fine, San.â
âYou didnât call.â
âNeither did you.â
âAnd have Chan scream in my ear, I didnât wanna risk it.â
âWell heâs not monitoring my phone 24/7 so you would have been fine.â
âThen why didnât you call?â
âSan.â
âHm?â
âWhat are you doing here?â
âMe? Nothing, just here to see you.â
âYouâre not a student here, you should go.â
âCome on, I came all-â
âIâm a student, San.â You interrupted. âIâm not from a wealthy family, and I seriously need to focus on school if I want to get anywhere in life. It was fun getting to know you guys, but this is where we must part ways.â
âYou donât mean that. Was your birthday present-â
âThanks for the party, and the gifts. It was a good farewell.â
âYou still have all those presents back-â
âLeave. Before I call security.â
âYouâd do that?â
âI wanna graduate, which means I have to pass this semester in order to get closer to my goal. Partying and racing isnât gonna help me. Now please, go.â
âAlright⊠donât be a stranger.â
âYeah.â
You didnât know if that went well, but at least nothing got heated. You continued to focus on school, managing to get to finals week, and feeling confident in your skills. Test taking always sucked, but the exams actually felt easy, so you were certain you passed. After your last one, a midday one, you were going to text Chan when you ran into a familiar face.
âCongratulations.â
âHongjoong⊠what are you doing here?â
âIâm here to see you of course. Youâve completed your last exam, and the semester is over, right?â
âUh, yeah, but-â
âWe should celebrate. Youâre one step closer to graduation.â
âBut-â
âSan told us your birthday party was a farewell party, and I find that quite unfair.â
âUnfair?â
âWe should have a proper going away party for you. I would have mentioned it sooner, but I understand you wanted to focus on your studies. Now thatâs done, shall we?â
âHongjoong-â
âNothing big. Just dinner and us, I promise.â
âI canât just-â
âI understand Chan has been keeping a watchful eye, but heâd understand you wanting to unwind today. Besides, I doubt heâll ever know. So, may we have the honor of your company one last time?â
âFine, but I canât be out so late.â
âOf course.â
Despite your better judgment you went with Hongjoong back to his place. The others were very happy to see you, and you couldnât help the genuine smile on your face.
âFirst, your present.â Hongjoong said, handing you the car keys. âHere.â
âFor me?â
âIt should make it easier for you to get to and from school from now on. And itâll be easier to go out and enjoy yourself.â
âI⊠Iâm not sure I can accept thisâŠâ
âPlease do.â Seonghwa stated. âWe canât possibly repay you for all the great memories weâve made together.â
âAh, I see.â
âCome on, letâs go inside.â Yeosang held his hand out to you. âOne last dinner.â
You took his hand and followed them all inside. The place had been cleaned up nicely since your party. It was weeks ago, but still, not a trace was left. It actually seemed a lot emptier than before. You were going to ask when Mingi suddenly took your other hand.
âWe still have to set the table.â Mingi explained. âSo how about we let the others do that.â
âYa! Mingi!â
âHave fun!â
Before anyone else could object Mingi pulled you away from the group and led you away. No one was gonna stop you two, so you ran off. Mingi took you around the house, asking how youâve been and how your exams went. He was glad to hear you were done with the stress and felt confident in passing your classes. You two wound up down in the garage, Mingi suggesting taking you out on one last ride. You looked at all the cars, blushing a bit when you saw the one where San and Wooyoung had given you your birthday present. Although your eyes then lingered to another car.
âOh⊠isnât thatâŠâ
You walked over to the car that had caught your attention. You had been down in the garage multiple times before. Of course you didnât know them all, but something about this car caught your eye.
âThis looks like the car the Black Pirates drive.â
âWa⊠what?â
âYou know, those robberies that have taken place in the area as of late. I saw a picture of one of the cars they drive and it had a partial⊠plateâŠâ
Now that you were closer and rambling about the car you looked down at the license plate, realizing that it actually matched the partial plate that had been caught on camera.
âI didnât know the car had been reported in the news.â
âIt wasnât⊠I, uh, I actually saw it online. You know things always get leaked there.â
âSo you kept up with it then? Playing detective in your spare time.â
âUh, well⊠yeah, kind of.â
âThatâs cool.â
âYeah⊠what a crazy coincidence.â
âCoincidence⊠right.â
âActually we should go back upstairs. Iâm sure the others are done setting up, and we can all take a ride together later.â
âThat sounds like a good idea.â
Mingi took your hand and the two of you went upstairs. You were trying not to act so nervous. You didnât know what to do anymore, but you knew you needed to call Chan immediately. He could chew you out for all this later. Of course you could be wrong on your assumption that Ateez were the Black Pirates, but you had an uneasy feeling about everything. You needed to leave.
âMingi.â
âHm?â
âI just remembered that since today was my last test, me and my friends made plans to celebrate together. I canât have dinner with you guys tonight, but maybe tomorrow.â
âBut youâre already here, and your friends havenât called.â
âI just got a text and they were asking where I was, so I should get going.â
âThe others-â
âItâs not goodbye, so letâs not make it one.â
âY/n-â
âIâll call you guys, I promise.â
You pulled your hand away from Mingi and calmly walked to the front door. You held yourself together not to make it look weird. At least you had a means of leaving, the present you had been given. You did fumble with the keys a bit but managed to open the door and start the car. You waved at Mingi and drove off, not really sure where you were going, but needing to get as far away as possible. It was already late, and for the most part the road was empty. You carefully reached over to grab your phone and call Chan, although it said he was unavailable. You tried multiple times, but got the same response every time.
âCome on, Chan, pick up.â
While driving you suddenly heard the roar of an engine, looking in the rear view mirror to see two vehicles getting close. It didnât take long to recognize the cars, and then the drivers and passengers.
âFuckâŠâ
You were freaking out, knowing theyâd catch up to you soon enough. You tried to call Chan again, but nothing. The cars come up on either side of you, on your left you see Jongho waving at you, asking you to stop. You didnât feel safe, you couldnât comply with this, so you just stepped on the gas. They seemed a bit annoyed, but continued to follow. You tried once to call Chan, but there was no answer, so you resorted to a voicemail.
âChan, please answer your goddamn phone! When you get this, please call me back immediately. You were right, okay? Shit was dangerous and⊠I fucked up, but it was an accident! I didnât⊠shit, they caught up to meâŠâ
You werenât an experienced driver, especially when it came to speed, but you didnât let your foot off the gas. You didnât know how fast you were going, but just seeing the others getting closer put you on edge. You were only really focused on the road, not wanting to lose control, and then the two cars crashed against you, trying to sandwich you between them. You screamed, trying to get them off, but whatever they were doing, they were in control.
âFuck, fuck, fuck⊠Chan, Iâm sorry⊠I know you told me to stay out of it⊠itâs my fault alright⊠please just call me back so I can tell you everything⊠I donât know long I can do this⊠the Black Pirates-â
The others pulled back suddenly, but you still turned the wheel. The sudden movement, combined with the speed, you turned to the side and wound up flipping over. Everything happened in a blur, like the light of the world was turning on and off in slow motion. You donât know how many times your car flipped, but at some point it stopped. Your ears were ringing, and the edges of your vision were black. The world was upside down, and you slowly looked around. You vaguely noticed the other two cars coming to a stop, seeing people rush out.
âY/n!â
âDonât touch the car!â Hongjoong ordered. âAnd someone call an ambulance.â
With that said, Mingi ended up grabbing Wooyoung before he got close, holding him back. Yeosang dialed emergency services, and Yunho ended up grabbing San as well.
âHyung!â Wooyung yelled. âWe canât just leave her!â
âYou know why we followed her out here.â
âHyung!â
âSeonghwa, Jongho, get the license plates.â
âHYUNG!â
You could see some footsteps approaching, but you couldnât make much out. There was a dull ache all over your body, although you felt more like you were floating. Still, among the chaos of everything, you didnât want it to end this way.
â⊠help⊠save⊠meâŠâ
The two boys grabbed the license plates off the car and stepped away. No one was happy with this, but it was Hongjoongâs orders.
â⊠please⊠donât leave⊠meâŠâ
âWeâre not seriously leaving her like this.â San said. âAre we?â
âThe ambulance and police will be here soon, we have to go.â
âHyung!â
âWe donât have time, letâs go.â
You vaguely heard the sounds of sirens in the distance, followed by cars speeding off. It was hard to stay awake, but you held out, trying to wait for someone, anyone, to help. The sirens did get lower, and at some point you could see others approach. Your head was pounding and you could taste blood in your mouth, but you figured it was okay to close your eyes now. Even if you didnât open them again, you could stay awake much longer. You heard voices, maybe speaking to you, but you just closed your eyes and sank into darkness.
â€
You gasped awake, panicking as you felt the restraints on your body. You were freaking out and taking in your surroundings as all these memories flooded your mind. At one point you screamed, wishing you could grab your head, but your arms were restrained. You calmed yourself and took in some deep breaths, slowly looking up at the men surrounding you. They had been watching you calmly this whole time.
âSo, do you remember now?â Hongjoong asked. âDo you remember us?â
âI⊠I rememberâŠâ
âThatâs good. We-â
âYou left meâŠâ
âHuh?â
âYou left me for dead⊠you tried to kill me!â
You started screaming and thrashing in your restraints. This caught them off guard and San and Wooyoung quickly reached over to grab you and hold you still.
âYa, ya, ya.â Seonghwa knelt down before you. âEasy now, you really think we left you for dead?â
âYou did! YouâŠâ Tears stung your eyes. âYou left meâŠâ
âOh baby, why did you run?â
âHuh?â
âWhy did you run away that night? What reason did you have to run from us?â
âIâŠâ
âMingi said you were talking about the Black Pirates, and that you suspected us. Is that why you ran away?â
âWhy⊠why did you chase meâŠâ
âYou didnât seem to be in your right mind when you left, and to be driving, we were worried. We tried to get you to stop, but you wouldnât. Then the unimaginable happenedâŠâ
âAnd you leftâŠâ
âYou had one of our cars.â Yunho said. âWe race with those, and theyâre designed to survive a crash and flip. You were never gonna die.â
âLiar! How would I know that!â
âCause youâre alive and well today, arenât you?â
âFuck you!â
âEasy now, easy.â Yeosang interrupted. âWe just wanna talk. Now that everything is back in order we should clear things up, donât you agree?â
âLet me go! You fuckers kidnapped me! You ran me off the road and tried to kill me and now this! Youâre going-â
âAish.â Hongjoong hissed. âLetâs just cut to it then.â
Hongjoong stepped up before you and grabbed a handful of your hair, holding your head back. Some of the others didnât like his actions but they said nothing, just watching.
âThat night you came to our place, you went down to the garage with Mingi. One of our cars caught your eye. You recognized it as a car the Black Pirates used, even mentioning the partial plate. So now, my question is, how did you know that?â
âThe news-â
âThe news never reported on our crimes.â Hongjoong chuckled when your eyes went wide. âYes baby girl, weâre the Black Pirates. The news reported the robberies, but never stated they were connected, never asked the public for help identifying a car or a partial plate, so how did you know about it? You a cop?â
âIt was on the-â
âY/n, sweetie, stop playing games.â Hongjoong let you go. âWe know none of the car information was ever shared with the press, or leaked online. How so? We have an inside source. That means we know that the only people who had access to that information are somehow involved with the police. Now answer the question, are you a cop?â
ââŠâ
âPerhaps you were an informant. That makes sense too. You stuck out like a sore thumb when you first came to the races, yet you were very social and befriended everyone.â
âThat sounds like an informant.â Jongho added. âI remember you got so many phone numbers at your first party.â
ââŠâ
âWhy are you so silent now? You were yelling a few minutes ago.â
âMaybe weâre wrong.â San commented. âMaybe sheâs an undercover cop. The authorities suspected street racers, and then she showed up.â
âWait, wait, wait.â Mingi interrupted. âIsnât she close friends with Stray Kids? They suddenly came on the scene and rose to our ranks. Looking back on it now, that seems suspicious, doesnât it?â
âChan and the others have nothing to do with this!â You snapped.
âWith what? Are you admitting to working for the police?â
ââŠâ
âCome on now, the silent treatment again?â
âBaby, we already know the truth.â Wooyoung commented. âChan and his little stray kids are undercover cops. We knew there was someone like that in our midst but we werenât sure until you confirmed it for us.â
âWa⊠what?â
âDonât you remember? That night you went out drinking with friends and Yunho took you home. He was gonna drop you off at your apartment but you had him take you somewhere else. We peeked in later when it was empty and imagine our surprise at what we found.â
âNo⊠no I didnât-â
âSh, itâs okay.â Yunho assured. âYou were intoxicated that night, and you didnât mean any harm. Thanks for the information, although that just begs the question, what are you? A cop or informant? My money is on the latter.â
ââŠâ
âYou donât have to be shy. We-â
âDonât hurt him⊠any of them⊠pleaseâŠâ
âNow weâre getting somewhere.â Seonghwa chuckled. âAre you ready to be honest?â
âJust leave him aloneâŠâ
âAlright. So what are you then?â
âA volunteerâŠâ
âHuh?â
âIâm not a cop⊠or informant⊠I just wanted to helpâŠâ
âIs that why you were so genuine with us? It was never a mask. Do you consider us your friends?â
â⊠I didâŠâ
âDid? Past tense? You know we were genuine with you too, right?â
âWhat does that-â
âWeâre not bad guys.â Yeosang added. âWeâve never hurt anyone. Just robbed some banks.â
âWhyâŠâ
âThatâs hardly the point here. We may have met under special circumstances, but weâre friends. More than friends Iâd say.â
âWhat?â
âYou knowâŠâ Jongho began. âThat night, we wanted to invite you to come with us.â
âHuh?â
âYou were done with school and we were leaving this place. We wanted you to join us. To go on a new adventure together. Of course you ran off before we could propose the idea.â
âMe? Why⊠why would I go with you?â
âDonât you remember your birthday party? I think that night speaks for itself.â
âI⊠that doesnâtâŠâ You took a breath. âDo you think we have something? That beyond being friends there was more to this relationship?â
âWell, isnât there?â
âNo⊠you were my friends once, but I was reminded time and time again we come from different worlds. Anything between us was never gonna work out, so I had to let go first.â
âAnd look how that went.â Mingi commented. âYou got scared and ran off, got yourself hospitalized too. Gosh, it was so annoying when Chan came busting down our doors with the police. It makes more sense now how he managed to do that.â
âWhat did you say?â
âDid he not tell you? Once you were stable he stormed our house looking for any evidence to insinuate that we ran you off the road. Of course he was trying to use the fact we were in the middle of moving to make his point, but that got him nowhere.â
ââŠâ
âAs you know, we were always planning to move.â Yunho added. âItâs why we wanted to ask you that night, but of course even if things didnât go our way, we still had things set up. So the move continued, even if Chan was crawling all over our property and checking all our vehicles. He walked away empty handed.â
âLeave him out of this. I wonât tell him anything, so just let me go.â
âLet you go? We have all kinds of history-â
âThatâs the past. You left me for dead on the road, and never came back. Weâve already parted ways.â
Wooyoung chuckled. âWe never came back? Is that what you think? Oh baby, thatâs far from the truth.â
âThe hell are you talking about?â
âAish. We were gonna get you from the hospital but Seonghwa got interrupted.â
âWhat?â
âWe told you that we wanted to leave with you.â Seonghwa stated. âIt was hard to find a moment when Chan wasnât around to sneak in, and then you woke up to my surprise.â
âYou⊠you were the oneâŠâ
âWe were all so upset when Seonghwa reported your amnesia.â Hongjoong continued. âBut you disappeared with Chan after you left the hospital so there was no way to check in on you. We had to wait till school started up again and hope to see you on campus. Thankfully we did, and the moments you interacted with some of us, it really showed you didnât remember us at all. It was very upsetting, until we found out your memories were returning.â
âAnd so you kidnapped me?â
âWe should be there for the important moment.â
âYou drugged me and forced me-â
âYa, thatâs all in the past now. What matters is that you remember everything, and weâre together.â
âLet me go.â
âNot gonna happen.â
âLet. Me. Go. I want nothing to do with you, so I wonât say anything. Just let me go.â
âWhat part of no did you not understand?â San questioned. âWeâve been waiting for you for months. You donât get to walk away like this.â
âWeâre not friends anymore, and werenât not anything else. So let me go.â
âOr what?â Yeosang asked. âWhat are you gonna do? Cause youâre still tied up in our garage baby. You gonna escape?â
âYou-â
âWe have no intention of letting you go. Youâre staying with us either way. So get comfy.â
âLet me-â
âWe only came back to this old town looking for you.â Hongjoong stated. âNow that we found you we can make preparations to leave and be on our way.â
âYou canât do this! Chan will realize Iâm missing soon and-â
âWhat? Heâll come knocking on our door like he did when you got into your accident? We already told you he walked away empty handed, and thatâs gonna happen again. No one is taking you away from us, not even you.â
âYouâre all fucken psychos!â
âYeah, yeah maybe we are.â Hongjoong grabbed your face. âBut thereâs just something about you that calls out to me. From the moment our eyes met, I just knew I had to have you. Being near you felt right, as if we had been together before, as if it was meant to be. Like some kind of deja vu.â
âYou wonât get away with this!â
âIâm sure you felt it too. Heck, when my boys got close you admitted to feeling something familiar about them. Not to mention how we met again.â
âYou-â
âI know you get deja vu.â
ââŠâ
âSo letâs stop pretending, okay?â Hongjoong let you go. âYou guys know what to do with her. Make sure sheâs comfortable until we leave.â
âGot it.â
âNo! No, you canât do this!â
âJust hold on for a while longer.â Seonghwa kissed your head. âWeâll begin again properly.â
âLet me go! You psychos! Let me go!â
Some of them walked off, meanwhile San and Wooyoung held you down again. Yunho walked up to you with another needle and you tried to get him away, but you could only watch as something was injected into your arm.
âDonât be scared, everythingâs gonna be okay, youâll see.â
âNo! Please, please donât do this.â
âSh, just get some rest. We can talk more later.â
You felt someone undoing your restraints, and once you were free you tried to jump Yunho, but you could feel your strength leaving you. Despite your efforts you couldnât stay awake, and he easily scooped you up in his arms. His gentle voice was lulling you to sleep, and eventually you shut your eyes. Fading into the unknown with no idea what awaited you.
âThere, there, sweet dreams love. Dream of us.â

(ooc... i guess??) what's the relevant lore for the aiku kidnappings đ§ââïž is everything under the girlfriend fc tag fair game or are the movies and interviews in a different timeline
Ah, you are a brave one, aren't you? Not many ask this question for they are scared what might be the consequences. If you still wish to continue, then you are welcome. Please make yourself comfortable in my humble abode.
I must warn you again, proceed with caution.
If you are still willing to know everything, then please follow me.
The root of this nightmare was born when @soleilonthesun broke up with Aiku Oliver and left him all alone. Sources say that it wasn't, particularly, a messy break up and both the involved parties did walk away in peace. However, the credibility of this statement is still quite debatable considering that it is believed to be the starting point of everything.
Whereabouts of Aiku after the break up is not completely clear. Some sources say that he was seen in clubs with exotic dancers while some say that he was seen in a café all alone. Nevertheless, it is confirmed that he was last seen inside his apartment complex about two days prior to the first kidnapping after which he was never seen near that building.
The first kidnapping happened on XX, XX, 20XX and the first victim's name is @riririnnnn. She was an attacking midfielder for Girlfriend FC and resided in the dorms with other members of the same team.
The victim had, supposedly, complained to her twin, @bueris, about a shadow figure lurking near her window during nighttime and feeling a strange sensation of someone watching her as she slept. The complaints were then directed to the manager, @licoririce, but no further actions were taken thinking it to be just a figment of imagination. Besides, dozens of CCTV cameras and motion sensor detectors are fitted all around the dorm's outside.
Then came the night.
@riririnnnn felt a bit drowsy and her poor performance was noted by the coach, @marcsnuffy, too. She was advised to get some rest and was sent back to the dorms before the nightly practices ended.
And when she reached her room, she saw it again, she saw the shadow figure on the window again, but this time, it had a face.
"Open up," the face demanded.
"I won't hurt you," the face promised with a sickening grin.
"Open up," the voice sounded more stern.
Fear took a hold of her whole body as she shakingly picked up her phone and dialed the number of @soleilonthesun.
And when she heard the calming voice on the other side of the phone, adrenaline shot up her spine and she ran out of her room.
In panic, she begged and begged, "Soleil, please, please help me. Please come and help me."
Her whimpers were sharply followed by a loud glass breaking noise before the phone went dead on her side.
The members who were still on the field practicing, heard a sharp, shrill scream echoing from the dorms.
Her twin, @bueris, was the first to recognise the agonising screech and without a second delay, she ran towards the source.
However, by the time anyone reached the site, @riririnnnn had vanished.
Nothing beside a note saying, "Catch me if you can, Girlfriend FC," was found.
The next kidnapping happened on XX, XX, 20XX and the second victim is @luvingshidou. She played on the offense side for Girlfriend FC and was coming back to Earth from her solo trip to the Moon.
Everything was a smooth sailing and she was reporting her well being hourly when a signal to the control centre was sent saying, "Guys, I think I'm not alone.."
The message, obviously, evoked concerns. Radars and satellite images were thoroughly rechecked yet nothing was found.. until, a white, blurry speck came into light which had gone unnoticed earlier.
The information was quickly passed onto @luvingshidou, but sadly, it was too late.
All the connections were severed already. No signal couldn't be transmitted and neither could be received.
Panic ensued.
Back in the spacecraft, the member of Girlfriend FC was desperately scrounging the control panel of her spaceship. She tried everything. She turned on and off the switches. She rewired the cables. She dismantled and reassembled the talking devices, yet, nothing worked.
And then suddenly, a faint noise was heard.
Bang
She stopped her movements altogether.
Bang
The noise came from.. outside.
Bang
The frequency increased.
Bang Bang Bang
Her blood froze as her finger rapidly clicked on the emergency button.
Bang Bang Bang Bang Bang
And just like that, @luvingshidou had vanished in the cislunar space.
One single message was received back on Earth's radars, "Help."
And another note was found right outside the control centre's building, "Catch me if you can, Girlfriend FC."
The next kidnapping happened on XX, XX, 20XX and the third victim is @hooudie212. She was one of the main members among the reserved players of Girlfriend FC, and unlike the previous victims, she was actually able to catch the culprit.
Remember the CCTV cameras and motion detectors mentioned earlier? So, through those records, she piled up a clear sketch and was the first and only one to identify the culprit's name: Aiku Oliver.
It didn't take her much more time and within three days, she caught Aiku with a meticulous trap.
Aiku was questioned by her for days. He was kept in isolation and when needed, was given dosage of shocks too. However, he didn't utter a single word about the kidnapped victims. He kept his mouth sealed shut. Nevertheless, everyone was a bit relieved to know that, at least, there wouldn't be any more kidnappings.
...
And then the day came.
@hooudie212 took a short leave from her afternoon practice to go and check up on Aiku. According to @someprettyname, the other member looked a bit anxious and when asked, she simply replied, "I don't feel good. My gut feeling doesn't feel good."
Back in the prison maintained by Girlfriend FC, @hooudie212 found all the answer she needed.
He had escaped.
Aiku had escaped.
Her feet anxiously tapped the floor as she muttered, "This can't be.. this can't be.." over and over.
Her foolproof plan couldn't be defeated. There were no way it was possible.
"No, no," her voice mumbled in disbelief.
And then..
Thud
Heavy footsteps echoed behind her.
Thud
The sound grew louder.
Thud
Her guts screamed at her to run, to move, to get away.
Thud
But she stayed paralysed.
Thud
And she was never seen again. @hooudie212 had vanished.
This time, however, the culprit left a different kind of note. The next victims were already hinted. It didn't take much to decipher the code and the said members were kept in high security.
The next kidnapping happened on XX, XX, 20XX and there were more than one victim.. with an unexpected twist to whatever we knew.
First and the alleged main victim of that night is @cyberbluee. She is the right midfielder for Girlfriend FC and is one of the top gamers in whole wide world.
She was one of the members who were hinted by the note left in the previous crime scene. As soon as her name came up, she was transferred from the Girlfriend FC dorms to a higher security zone. She was guarded 24/7 by a special task force provided by the academy. Her practice times were cut short for her safety too.
Having nothing much to do, she spent her days playing games. She broke and made many records on various competitive games and that was when she received a message from a fellow gamer.
The gamer wasn't unknown to her. He usually stayed close by her in the leaderboards, but they both never knew eachother personally.
And just like that, she gained a new friend who was surprisingly, very charming.
However, a small tragedy struck when her fellow gamer friend stopped coming online. She would stare at his profile, re-read their exchanged messages and would leave texts just in case he received notifications, but nothing seemed to work.
Then, one day, someone knocked on her door.
And that was.. weird.
Knocking on her door wasn't weird, but the knock was always followed by a secret code which proved that the person behind the door is either a member of Girlfriend FC or a member of the special task force.
Knock knock
The noise repeated.
Knock knock
Again.
Knock knock
And again.
She was about to reach for the door when..
Ding!
Something popped up on her computer screen and what she saw made her face pale.
Knock Knock
The screen displayed a man knocking on a door.
Knock knock
The screen displayed a man knocking on her door.
Knock knock
She knew those neon green coloured hairs.
Knock knock
Everything on the internet is connected, after all.
Knock knock
@cyberbluee vanished after that.
Sirens blared inside the tight security building and the Girlfriend FC dorms. All the members and the officials rushed into the scene..
..except @satosuguhastakenovermylife and @getosugurusbangs.
More panic ensued.
Everyone searched for them. Their names were called out in every corner until..
"hihihihi"
A sinister laugh caught everyone's attention.
"This is so fun!"
The same voice squealed ominously.
"hihihihi"
"This is so fun!"
"hihihihi"
"This is so fun!"
That wicked voice repeated over and over like a record.
Everyone followed the source and soon reached a big, empty room.
"hihihihi"
"This is so fun!"
A vinyl record spun round and round on a record player in the middle of the room.
"hihihihi"
"This is so fun!"
"hihihiâ huh?"
"That was quick. Tch. You ruined the fun!"
BOOM!!
The record player exploded and covered the whole room with a thick blanket of white smoke.
Everyone coughed and waved their arms to clear their vision of sight, and when it did, everyone's voice caught up in their throat.
A big poster of a hooded figure now hung in front of them on the walls.
Nothing else was found except an unspoken conclusion that there is someone else other than Aiku.
-----------------------------------------
And that, brave one, is all I can provide you with.
Now that you know it all, please be careful.
Do not trust anyone. Do not stray from your path.
Do not accept a helping hand and do not look out the window.
The next victim could be anyone.
And there will be more than one.
Stay alert, Girlfriend FC.

Queerplatonic Riddler x Reader fanfic
Disclaimers:
I am not a good writer. I am simply making this because I am an aroace who loves the Riddler and and desperate for fanfiction that isn't romantic or sexual and I want it to exist in the world.
This is a bit out of character because I am simply not smart enough to write a genius and I am also not very good at riddles.
Some of it is very contrived, in particular the "worldbuilding" had to be crammed into fitting a pattern for reasons, so it is very janky.
Allos are allowed to interact but PLEASE BE MINDFUL THAT THIS ISN'T FOR YOU.
Also I'm English so there may be a couple of covert language differences if you're American (eg: saw a post where apparently in the US "quite" means very whereas here it's much less intense than that)
Rating: Probably teen
Warnings: Swearing (S and F word), whump (hurt reader), violence and injury, implied ableism, near-death experiences, robberies and hostage situations (not very dangerous)
Reader insert info: Oriented aroace, quoiromantic, autistic (hyperfixating on Riddler)
Word count: 5022
Please don't give me loads of criticism I'm not releasing this to improve at writing I'm releasing this because there's no representation.
You sit in your room, reading the Gotham Gazette. A small smile appears on your face; the news keeps talking about the new crime spree, courtesy of the Riddler. Youâre lying on your green bedcovers, kicking your feet and giggling. It is quite sad that his latest bank robberies are going to severely affect the economy, but⊠look at him. He looks so happy in the CCTV footage. His smile is the most precious thing youâve ever seen. You love the newspaper, as long as you donât read the articles. Thereâs a lot of speculation about his mental state, and, while you do agree that his mental state is probably not great, some of the speculation⊠it wouldnât feel out of place on an Autism Speaks advert. You use permanent marker and doodle question marks to hide the more offensive articles. With everything thatâs left, you cut it out, glaring at the scissors that are leaving jagged edges even though it is probably just a skill issue. You use Blu Tack to stick it onto the board with all of the other articles and pictures, and pick up those which fell off. Five crimes so far. You scan the articles. The names of the locations⊠there must be something⊠Classy and Elegant, a store for wedding clothes, with lots of money⊠House-Dealing Special Princesses, the estate agents for posh people⊠River Bank Tower, a tower that was a historic location for money laundering and was converted into a tourist attraction⊠Worshipping Mr Batman, a Batman fan club with a large following, as well as founders who got very rich⊠and Rose Petal Association, a very wealthy gardenersâ club. The letters⊠they feel⊠familiarâŠ
You quickly open Wikipedia. Hands shaking â you donât know if itâs from nerves or excitement â you search for Elgarâs Enigma Variations. Your eyes widen. Classy and Elegant â C.A.E! House-Dealing Special Princesses â H.D.S-P! R.B.T! W.M.B! R.P.A! His crimes are all after Elgarâs Enigma variations! Youâre stimming, at having solved this riddle. But where will he strike next? The next piece⊠YsobelâŠ
You open Google Maps. This isnât simple initials, the piece is named after a full name⊠You search around, trying to find something that fits YsobelâŠ
Itâs the next day. As usual, it is raining. Youâre carrying a green umbrella, and hoping that, if he does show up, he wonât realise that you carved the handle into the shape of a question mark. Anxiety fills you â the establishment which should be the next target, is very⊠suspicious. Why So Bell, a supposed bell manufacturer which everybody knows is really a front for one of the Joker gangsâ hideouts. You glance around, nervously. There are legitimate shops next door, it should be safe, it should be safeâŠ
Youâre hiding in a bush, shaking. It hurts, there are probably lots of bugs, but⊠you canât just loiter in the open next to a Joker-affiliated operation, but⊠you have to see the Riddlerâs next crime. Your umbrella is hidden with you in the bush. Youâre getting uncomfortably wet. You donât think your glasses will ever recover from this experience. Half an hour passes, and you watch as people come and go from the buildings. An obvious gang member leaves Why So Bell. You are shaking in the bush as she walks towards you. Does she see you? Sheâs coming closer. Closer. Closer.
She yanks you out by the tip of your umbrella. You look up at her sheepishly, trembling. She responds by punching you in the face.
You wake up, and your heart leaps as you see your favourite colour, green. Your heart is then filled with terror. The green isnât from your many pictures of the Riddler, the green is from a massive vat of acid, and youâre dangling right over it. âWho the fuck dâyou work for?!â the gang member asks. âN-N-NO-ONE! IâM N-NOT A GANG MEMBER! PLEASE! TH-THEREâS BEEN A TERRIBLE MISUNDERSTANDING!!â you squeak, terrified. The gang members â three of them â laugh at you. âWhy were you hiding in that bush?!â a Joker goon shouts at you, as you feel yourself being lowered towards the acid, âYouâre a spy, arenât ya?!â âPLEASE! PLEASE! I W-WASNâT SPYING! PLEASE! I W-WAS⊠I WAS JUST HIDING IN THE BUSH, W-W-WAITING FOR SOMEONE!!â âYer lying!â
Your vision is being consumed by green, and not in the usual Riddler hyperfixation way, but in the way that you are about to die. You are whimpering, trying desperately to stammer out an explanation, but there is no way to explain anything in a way that does not make you look like an alloromantic stalkerâŠ
Suddenly, the power cuts out. You scream, thinking that this the end. The Joker goons are shouting, confused. There are sounds of a scuffle, and one of their panicked yelling is cut short. The other two are fighting something. âB-Batman?â you shriek, terrified. Every time the Riddler goes to Arkham, he seems to come back worse. If Batman is here, he will surely arrest the Riddler and send him to Arkham yet again. The sounds of the scuffle stop. You wait, hyperventilating. This is very bad, as you are starting to breathe in the fumes of the acid. Itâs rather funny that you solved the riddle, and now Batman came here to save you but will surely arrest the Riddler. You canât help but laugh at the fact that you solved it for Batman, itâs so funny, heâs going to rot in Arkham! Ha! Youâre being lifted up, taken away from the green, just like how your hopes of ever seeing the silly green man have gone away! Now youâre being picked up! Itâs funny, Batmanâs arms seem nowhere near as muscular as they should be! Isnât it funny that youâre still in the dark, the Dark Knight hasnât turned the light on, because dark! Ha! Get it? âHa⊠Iâve already done the work, Batman!â you laugh. âDonât compare me to that pathetic man,â your saviour replies. Itâs hilarious, youâre such an idiot, youâre stupid! Youâre a fool! Youâre just as pathetic as Batman! What even is a Bat Man meant to be, anyway? And now, this man is holding you! From what you can see, the glow of the acid is turning his outfit green! Oh, whatâs that silly symbol on his outfit?! Haha! The little question marks in your brain, and now thereâs a big one on this manâs spandex! Hahaha! Youâre an idiot! An idiot who didnât realise you finally got to meet your hero! Stupid! Stupid! Stupid! He thinks youâre so stupid! He can hear you mumbling about how stupid you are, youâre really not helping things, this is so funny, heâs going to hate you! And now, everythingâs going dark like your future! Ha! Ha⊠Ha⊠HaâŠâŠâŠâŠ..
Youâre in a hospital bed. Next to you is your umbrella. âYouâre awake,â the nurse says, looking at you with concern. âWh⊠what happened..?â âSomeone found a note leading to you. You were passed out⊠Joker chemicalsâŠâ Your eyes widen. âJ-Joker?! Is⊠are there gonna be lasting effects?!â âYou might be more prone to fits of laughter, but thatâs all.â
In the evening, youâre released from the hospital. You walk home, holding your umbrella. You feel an irregularity on the handle, and carefully take your finger away from it. Your heart leaps; there, on the handle⊠a small question mark, engraved into the wood. You stand there for a little while, shaking, your mouth open in what could be a smile. What could this mean?
You return home, giggling. You walked past Troyte Bank on the way, Troyte being the next piece in the Enigma variations. There also seems to be a pattern to the timing of the robberies â the next is going to be at some point between 1 and 1:30. Youâre shaking. You could go to the bank at 1. You⊠you could see him⊠you could be in the bank while itâs being robbed⊠a bank robbery would be very scary, but you could see him! Being an innocent bystander in one of the Riddlerâs very own crimes⊠the thought makes you giddy with excitement. Youâre giggling again; the exposure to the fumes of the Joker chemical has evidently given you this new habit. You sound like a teenage girl talking with friends about a cute boy. Your laughter turns more nervous. What will people think when they hear your giggling? Theyâll think youâre weirdâŠ
They already do, thoughâŠ
Itâs 1PM. You step into the bank from the rain of Gotham, clutching your umbrella, biting your lip to stop yourself from giggling. You loiter near the side, doing your best to not look suspicious, waiting for him⊠After three minutes, the door opens, and five goons holding machine guns enter the building, along with him. The Riddler, wearing his iconic green spandex, with the purple belt, and the large black question mark on the front. There are little question marks in lines down the sides of the arms and legs. Heâs wearing his mask and gloves, of matching shades of purple. The spandex⊠doesnât leave much to the imagination. You can tell that he is quite muscular, although not nearly as muscular as people renowned for strength, such as Batman. âIâm tough and elastic, but you have left! O! What am I? A robbery!â he exclaims, gleefully. You canât help but smile at his wide grin. He twirls his cane as the gunmen usher everyone in the bank to the side. The gunmen tell everyone to kneel, and you kneel down, clutching your umbrella. An old man grunts from having to kneel. The Riddler looks at the group. âTell you what. Anyone who can answer any riddles will be allowed to stand up!â he says, taking out some cards from within his belt and giving them to one of his goons, whispering instructions for the order they get distributed in. He and two of the goons walk into the vault, and are presumably taking the loot, while one of the goons points his gun at the bank staff, one points his gun at the group, and the last one is handing out the riddles. You receive your card with the riddle on it. You read the riddle: What can be gentle as the wind, or as all-consuming as fire, as strong as a mountain, as beautiful as a sapphire? âIs it love?â you ask shyly, before he has even finished handing out the riddles. He walks over to you, and reads the riddle. After a little pause, he grunts and nods, and walks off. You start to stand up, and glance at the old man next to you who is struggling. âThe answerâs water,â you murmur in his ear. He rereads the riddle, and then gives his answer to the goon, who has now finished handing out the riddles. He is allowed to stand, and you wait for the goons to glance away, then give another person an answer. âMy, my, youâre very good at solving other peoplesâ riddles, arenât you?â a soft voice says in your ear. You squeak. Itâs him. You can feel yourself trembling nervously, heâs so close, he has a smirk on his face. The Riddler gives you a wink, and moves away. He leaves with the goons and the loot he has stolen.
That night, you go home, shaking. Youâre filled with emotions, and theyâre scaring you. You⊠you think you might⊠love him⊠youâre not sure what kind of attraction you feel⊠and itâs scary. He means a lot to you, and you want him to know how you feel, but you donât even really know how you feel. You go and print out the page for Oriented Aroace on the LGBTQIA Wiki. You get out a pen and paper, and start making a diagram, with some bars, each corresponding to a different type of attraction, the main ones you can think of. For the bar about sexual attraction, you can easily put NO in capital letters. For sensual attraction, you fill it quite high. You pause, and decide to write definitions for the types of attraction. You reach romantic attraction, and hesitate. What is romantic attraction? Romance is entirely a social construct⊠how does one define it? After a minute of trying to think, you just fill it with question marks and print out the wiki page for quoiromantic. You start writing: âI donât know what romantic attraction is meant to feel like. I donât feel it usually, but you make me feel something Iâve never felt before, and I canât tell if itâs a cross between hyperfixation and alterous attraction, or if this is what romance feels like.â You glare at the paper. You genuinely canât tell if itâs you finally feeling romantic attraction for one person, or if itâs internalised amatonormativity and youâre just hyperfixating and have tertiary attractions. All you know is⊠that you love himâŠ
The next day â another rainy one - is here. Youâre loitering inside Without Nines, a casino, when he comes in, with several gunmen. There are also two women, dressed in spandex with question marks â Query and Echo. The Riddler is wearing a very dapper green suit with black question marks, along with a purple and blue waistcoat with question mark shapes. His light green tie is embroidered with purple question marks, and he wears a green bowler hat with a purple ribbon and a black question mark, the colours matching the rest of his outfit. His shirt is black, and he wears purple gloves and his purple mask. A little smile plays upon his face as everyone in the casino immediately panics, at his mercy. Guards immediately try to fight him, but the gunmen fire some warning shots. âAh ah ah! Iâm going to take a hostage! And if you donât let me take the money, youâll find yourselves riddled with bullets!â he says, smiling smugly. Your heart leaps as he starts walking straight towards you. You let out a little squeak as he hooks his cane around your arm, and pulls you towards him. Youâre shaking, and do a little giggle, nervous. This is it. Heâs noticed you. Heâs taken you hostage. And all you can do is giggle like a lunatic. The Riddler is giggling slightly, as he unhooks his cane from your arm, and puts his arm around your shoulders, pointing the cane under your throat threateningly. You can feel the cold metal against your neck. With some of his goons following, he walks through the casino, holding you close to him, letting everyone know that he could kill you if they donât let him rob the place. And yet, he gives you a gentle squeeze, and something tells you that he isnât going to hurt you. Query and Echo force a staff member to open the vault.
He lets out a giggle as the group walk into the vault. You let out a little gasp as you see how much money there is. The Riddler chuckles. âImpressed?â he says in your ear with a low voice. He walks in front of you, and looks at your awestruck face. Youâre trembling, heâs looking at you, all you can do is stare at the money like an idiot. He giggles. âAlright, then. Looting this place might take a while, so we may as well get comfortable,â he says, a smile on his lips. The regular gunmen start taking the money, while Query and Echo stay on guard at the vaultâs entrance. The Riddler puts his hand on your shoulder and pushes down to make you sit on the floor. You let out a little giggle. He sits down, facing you, and holds his cane, resting it against your neck, presumably to establish some threat. âWell, then. Riddle me this. Why hasnât Batman caught me yet?â he asks. You squeak delightedly when he says it. He laughs a little, a laugh that makes your heart feel so light. He looks happy. âGo on. Iâve seen you three times, now. Youâve solved my riddleâŠâ he says, leaning in. âNot just anyone can do that.â You start giggling uncontrollably. You feel light. He leans back a bit, waiting for you to regain your composure. âAre you always this giggly? Is it from the Joker chemicals? Or⊠maybe⊠just maybe⊠is it only when you see me?â he asks, winking. You giggle more. âHa! Ha! Hahahahaha! Itâs J-J-Joker⊠ha! Joker chemicals! Ha ha!â you laugh. He looks at you, sympathetic, and puts a hand on your shoulder. Your giggling gets worse, and you feel yourself blushing, and he immediately pulls his hand away. He waits quietly for you to calm down, as his men continue emptying the vault. He pulls you to your feet, and whispers into your ear. âI only have two more robberies in this plan. Thatâs the⊠initial⊠ideaâŠâ he whispers. Heâs so close to you, you can feel his breath on your ear. He gives a flamboyant twirl of his cane, and holds you menacingly again, putting his cane back to your throat. âWell then, my little hostage, itâs soon time for me to set you free,â he says, giving his handsome smile. You giggle, and blush slightly. Youâre looking up at him, and he looks down at you. He lets out a little laugh. âYouâre rather adorable,â he says. You squeak, and blush much more. He giggles. âWell, Iâll give you some time to regain your composure, haha,â he says, backing away slightly. You take deep breaths, and eventually calm down. He holds you again, and the group leaves the vault. He places you back with the other civilians, and moves away, his demeanour much more menacing⊠âAlright! And, just to seal this wondrous little robbery, everyone will give me one of their valuables!â he says, laughing. He looks so happy⊠you canât help but smile⊠He takes peoplesâ necklaces as they tremble, a pair of earrings, some fancy brooches⊠he reaches you, and smiles. You already know what he wants, and you shyly hold the umbrella. Your eyes meet as he wraps his hand around the handle, your grip lingering. He takes it from you, giggling, and continues taking other peoplesâ valuables.
The next day, youâre walking through the streets of Gotham, giggling excitedly. Today is going to be the day you come out to him. You spent yesterday evening getting ready to tell him, getting ready to speak. Youâve simplified your explanation considerably. You canât help but giggle at the fact that youâre going to see him, and tell him everything⊠maybe⊠maybe he was impressed by your ability to predict his crimes when even Batman couldnât⊠âHey, whatâs that dumb smile on your face for?!â a menacing voice says. A gang of thugs surrounds you. You go pale. âWell? Why you giggling? You think youâre the Joker or some shit?!â he shouts. You look around, desperate for help. Citizens are walking away, only glancing for some spectacle. A furtive woman in a green coat opens her phone and points it at you â is she going to record this?! âUh, heehee, I, I d-donât wanna f-fight⊠itâs⊠ha⊠I inhaled some Joker fumes⊠p-please⊠haha⊠donât h-hurt meâŠâ âYou wonât be smiling when weâre done with you!â a thug says, elbowing you in the abdomen and sending you staggering back. Tears are streaming down your face. Youâre missing the Riddlerâs robbery, surely heâll think youâre an idiot, heâs going to hate you- youâre punched in the face, and sobbing. They keep punching you, keep kicking you, keep kicking you. Whack. Whack. Whack. It hurts. You feebly try to hold up your arms to block their blows, but they easily shatter your defences. Youâre bleeding now. It hurts so much. They kick your legs, and you crash down to the ground, crying. They get their weapons out⊠one of them has a hammer⊠You can hear the crunch of your bones as your legs shatter. You can only whimper as one gets out her knife, and stabs you in the abdomen. Youâre screaming. âPLEASE STOP! I D-D-DIDNâT DO ANYTHING TO YOU!!â you cry as they keep hitting you. Your vision goes black. This is it, youâre going to die⊠âLEAVE THEM ALONE!â a voice shouts. They stop, tense. Your head is bleeding, you canât think straight, but⊠it sounds⊠familiar⊠Your vision is lit up with blue, as something fires electricity at the thugs. They shriek, and run away, leaving you. There are murmurs among the onlookers. You can feel hands slide underneath your body, as your saviour picks you up. Heâs walking quickly. âHey⊠hey⊠please⊠please talk to meâŠâ he says. Your vision is starting to return, and you can see the Riddler, tears streaming down his face. âSorryâŠâ you say weakly. âItâs alright, itâs alright, none of this is your fault, please donât apologise for anything, you will be safe,â he says, voice cracking. âI w-was gonna be there⊠I⊠I promise Iâm not stupidâŠâ âOh⊠oh, baby⊠I already know youâre not stupid. Shh⊠everythingâs going to be okayâŠâ he says, holding you close as he walks. He is thinking. âAlright⊠you need me on the fairway, you need me for luck, but when you have me youâre well and truly fucked, what am I?â âUh⊠uh⊠uh⊠a⊠a stroke?â you answer. He strokes your hair with his soft hands. Heâs wearing a green suit, this time with a purple shirt thatâs only buttoned 2/3 of the way, showing off his chest and collarbones. His hat is at a jaunty â no, messy â angle, and his mask is streaked with tears.
He enters a building. You canât read the sign, but you can tell the initials are E.D.U. Itâs dark, this building must be a repurposed warehouse. Itâs quiet, except for your whimpering, and his heavy breathing, and quick footsteps. He continues stroking your hair, his hands shaking. He sets you down, and rolls up your shirt, and you can hear his sharp intake of breath. âUh⊠okay⊠this looks bad⊠Iâm going to have to stitch your woundâŠâ he says. You shudder, and he picks you up. âItâs going to be okay⊠I promise.â He rushes into the bathroom, lays you into the bathtub and turns the tap on, rinsing the wound under the water. He gives your hair a pat, and starts preparing his first aid equipment, sterilising a needle and thread. He holds your hand, and cleans your wound as you whimper. He takes you out of the bathtub, and lays you down, using a towel to dry you. âListen, youâll be okay, I promise,â he says. He starts rubbing some cream around your wound, and you feel yourself going numb. He starts stitching, and youâre crying. âShh⊠shh⊠uh⊠whatâs so fragile that saying its name breaks it?â âS-s-silenceâŠâ you respond. He nods, and keeps stitching. âYouâre a smart cookie, you know?â His words make your heart leap. He keeps stitching. âI do mean it. I really do⊠Iâm almost done with the stitchesâŠâ After what feels like an eternity, he finishes, and smiles at you, taking his gloves off. âThe worst bitâs over,â he says, stroking your hair. He bandages the area. Now that the worst part is over, you start to appreciate the softness of his hands. You realise he is wearing green nail polish, with a purple question mark on each finger. He finishes bandaging you. âAll done!â he says, giving you a headpat, making you giggle. He gives you a warm smile. Your giggling dies down as the exhaustion starts to really hit you. You pass out.
When you open your eyes, youâve been tucked into a soft, green bed, covered in purple question marks. âYouâre awake!â he says, reminiscent of a puppy who just saw a friend. On top of his outfit from before, heâs wearing a knitted jumper, green with purple question marks, it looks so soft. Youâre still in pain, but you blush a little, as he reaches out with his hand, then pauses. âUm, would it be comforting if I held your hand?â Your heart leaps, and you nod, giggling. He gently takes your hand in his, and smiles softly. Itâs so soft, it distracts you from some of the sharp pain you feel all over your body. âUm⊠th-thank youâŠâ you mumble. âHey. I had to save you, youâre like a good luck charm at this point. It⊠itâs not right when youâre not there,â he says softly, stroking your hand gently. You squeak, giggling. He looks at you, a little smile on his face. âSo why do you keep following me? Is it gratitude for me saving you from Jokerâs gang? Are you trying to prove your intelligence against the smartest man in Gotham? Or maybe⊠something else?â he asks in his soft voice, winking at the end. You giggle nervously, trying to collect yourself. âI⊠I⊠heehee⊠hahaha⊠youâre⊠hahahahahaâŠâ Youâre shaking, nervous, and he can tell. He gently strokes your hand, a comforting smile on his face. âItâs okay⊠take your timeâŠâ âHa⊠ha⊠haha⊠YOUâRE MY SPECIAL INTEREST!â you blurt out. His eyes are wide, and he looks very surprised. You laugh nervously. âLike autism?â he asks, his smile widening. You nod, cursing yourself for being so blunt and probably making a fool of yourself â heâs smiling wide and crying tears of joy. His leg is bouncing. âHahahaha I need to come out hahahahaha Iâm an oriented aroace I hahahaha donât feel romantic or sexual attraction but Iâm feeling other types of attraction to you,â you say, shaking. He has a little pause of processing this, and smiles. âHey, youâre valid! So, uh, what other types of attraction do you feel?â he asks, giving a good-natured smile. âHahahaha I feel sensual attraction where I want to touch you and I feel alterous attraction which is uh itâs an emotion attraction that isnât exclusively romantic or platonic haha and maybe I feel aesthetic attraction hahahaha,â you say, trembling. He grins, and giggles. âYouâre quite the riddle, arenât you? Iâve taken quite a liking to you,â he says, his smile lighting up your world. The way his eyes light up fills your heart with joy. He gives your hand a gentle squeeze. âYouâre so precious. Seriously, youâre one of the most adorable people ever. Seeing you during my crimes⊠well, now I know how Ozzie feels about seeing birds. Youâre like⊠a little friendâŠâ You let out a squeak, and he laughs. âYouâre so cute⊠may I put my hand on your face?â he says. You nod, giggling, as he cups your head in his hands. âHow do you feel about eye contact?â he asks. âHaha! Iâm okay making eye contact with people I like!â you respond. There is a pause, as he slowly moves his eyes towards you.
âAnd⊠do you⊠like me?â he asks.
You look into his eyes. Both of you giggle. He gently strokes your hair. âIs this okay, d⊠may I call you dear?â Your heart leaps, and your mouth hangs open in disbelief. âHaha! I, ha, uh, haha itâs okay! Ha⊠uh⊠haha⊠what⊠w-whatâs⊠what⊠what are we?â you ask, blushing slightly. There is a pause, as he thinks. âYou seem to be my biggest fan, and I find you simply adorable. Iâll do anything to make you feel comfortable. Iâll look after you⊠Batman almost caught me last time, so I have plenty of free timeâŠâ âWhat⊠what happened? Wh-what did I miss?â You feel a little sting at the memory. The pain is coming back, and you can feel tears forming. He wipes the tears from your eyes. âI started the robbery⊠everything was in place, I had the plan, but⊠it didnât feel the same, without you. What takes deep hold and becomes every day, and without it the tree will fall?â âUh⊠root⊠routine?â âExactly. Seeing you, itâs become part of my routine⊠you hold a place in my heart⊠I⊠my plans, I started planning for youâŠâ You look at him, in awe. Somehow, the biggest genius ever, your hero⊠has been thinking about you. âWowâŠâ is all you can say. Youâre not even giggling anymore, youâre just repeating the word. He ruffles your hair. âWe Rogues, not many people like us. Itâs been a long time since Iâve had such a devoted fan⊠and you solved my plan faster than Batman⊠you can understand how much that means to me, right?â he says, seeming⊠nervous? The confidence is gone, he looks⊠anxious⊠like he needs reassurance. âYouâre⊠haha⊠my⊠ha-ha-heroâŠâ you say. His eyes light up, and he nods his head rapidly. âUm⊠is it alright if I give you a kiss on the forehead?â he asks. You nod, and start giggling again, as he gently puts his hand behind your head. He gives you a soft kiss on the forehead, making sure to avoid the bandage which you finally notice. Heâs so gentle, and the tender kiss is taking away the pain you feel. He lets go, and looks down, into your wide eyes. âWith skill, I am paid to save. What am I?â â⊠Protect?â He nods. âI want to protect you⊠youâre⊠youâre too precious. Iâll find the people who did this to youâŠâ he says, wrapping his arms around you, looking into your eyes to gauge your reaction. You have a tired look in your eyes, as you lean into him. âI⊠I have something for youâŠâ He reaches down, and holds your umbrella. Your crude attempt of carving the handle into a question mark shape has now been greatly polished, but most importantly, it has been covered in vibrantly-coloured question marks. âItâs⊠beautifulâŠâ âA beautiful umbrella for a beautiful mind, from an even more beautiful mind,â he says, as you relax in his arms and make a contented little humming noise. He gently strokes your hair, and you fall asleep in the Riddlerâs arms, your head buried in his chest.

The Adviser (26/45) | Bechloe Mafia AU
All Best Laid Plans (Chapter Preview - Read the rest at ao3)
Chloe chuckled as Dr. Mitchell recounted a tale of the nervous intern that came in with his doctors to check on him the other day. He was so rattled when the doctor asked him a question about an equipment that he mistook as for the shelf of Dr. Mitchell's bedside table. The doctor looked unimpressed, and the medical intern was all the more shocked with his own antics when he realized what had happened. Chloe wasn't sure how to feel about a medical intern messing up big time, but at least it didn't happen during a surgery or when a patient needed emergency assistance.
Currently, they have been taking turns to visit Dr. Mitchell at the hospital. Aubrey would visit with Emily. Sometimes she would go there with Chloe. On rare occasions it would be the three of them. But it was usually Beca who Chloe accompanied. Beca would mostly delegate herself with speaking to his doctors in private, checking in on how the staff on the floor was doing to make sure she gets on their good side and have them take good care of Dr. Mitchell. Her concern for him was genuine, that much Chloe could see, even when she tried her best to hide it. She couldn't really understand why, but it only made her love her even more.
ADMIRE, Beale, you admire her, not love her⊠you're not actually in love with Beca, right? Maybe have some stupid crush, but not actual falling in love kind of LOVE, right? Chloe chastised herself as she caught her thoughts slipping.
She didn't let Dr. Mitchell catch on, however. Or at least she hoped he did not.
Aubrey was not with them for their current visit. She was busy trying to de-escalate the situation with Kimmy Jin. The situation being that Chicago had wanted Beca arrested for the stunt she pulled. However, Beca was lucky. There was no proof it was her doing. Beca even put on her best acting chops on display as she said that she truly did hate Chicago, that's why he enjoyed in seeing him humiliated and drenched in pig's blood, when questioned by the police, but that it was not her who did it. She added in an "I wish it were me though, that would have been incredibly satisfying," to drive home the point of her innocence.
But of course, Chloe knew it was her. They all did. Beca was just incredibly crafty. She had hired actors assuming the names of the tenants show up at a sold-out theater show, using that as their alibies, so that they wouldn't even be considered to be part of her schemes. The actors were of close resemblance, at least good enough for the security feeds that Stacie may or may not have altered to fit closer to each of their builds and physiques. Beca personally ushered them in and said goodbye to each of them â as caught by the feeds as clear as day, while their beloved tenants carried out their assigned tasks â and Beca being late for the talk with popcorn was proof of her travelling from the theater and to the university. She also spent most of the last few days in highly popular areas with CCTV footage. She was no where near the university building. Unfortunately, the university also didn't have camera footage, whatsoever, for the auditorium, which means no evidence.
Kimmy Jin was still upset, however, by the antics, and they believed Aubrey was best equipped in talking with her about their next set of plans. They needed her for this, after all. Beca was cooking up something to serve Chicago and Babel on a silver platter for her.
"Is anything wrong?" Chloe asked after noting the few minutes of silence between her and Dr. Mitchell. "Are you alright?"
He nodded and smiled wistfully. "I was wondering, if it wouldn't be too much, if you could accept this gift from me," he then said, pulling out a paper bag from underneath his right bedside table.
Chloe stood up to try and help him, but promptly sat back down as he had managed to do the task by himself. She smiled a little, seeing that he seemed to be truly getting better. If only even by a little. Chloe accepted the paper bag and saw a beautiful blue knitted scarf inside, along with a folded white paper. She was about to reach in to grab it when Dr. Mitchell placed a hand on hers and shook his head to stop her.
"Oh, come now, please, it would embarrass me if you would read my letter right in front of me," Dr. Mitchell then said.
Chloe chuckled and nevertheless agreed. "Did you make this by yourself?"
Dr. Mitchell nodded in response. "I'm not one for television shows," he said, nodding towards the small flatscreen TV hanging on his wall. "And to be honest, I feel sensitive to some sounds and bright flashing lights from the screen sometimes. I don't know if it's the medicine or the cancer," he replied with a sigh. "But one of the night nurses, she knits by the info desk when it's not too busy and she talks about her knitting projects when she comes in to check on me. I told her I used to knit myself, and she started bringing her yarn and knitting with me at night, to keep me company."
"That's so sweet of her," Chloe commented. "Thank you," she added. "But I'm impressed. I wouldn't have guessed you knitted."
Dr. Mitchell laughed, a hint of melancholy in his tone. "My wife died young. And my daughter had a bad habit of tearing her clothes a lot even when she was still very little, I don't even know how she would manage it. I started to learn how to stitch and mend the tears myself, got curious and tried out knitting her simple things. I tried out a small sweater, and a pair of gloves. A beanie too. I never managed to give her a proper scarf, I was always worried she would somehow get tangled in it and hurt herself."
"I didn't know you had a daughter," Chloe admitted, giving Dr. Mitchell a soft smile. "Aubrey mentioned you had a child before, I was always curious if they ever tried visiting you or not. You kept insisting you didn't have any family left, and I wasn't sure if it's because of the case, if they had cut ties with you."
Dr. Mitchell shook his head. "I had to give her away because of my first cancer diagnosis. I had no other family who could take her in. Last I heard, she's been adopted by some other family already. She was very young when it happened. She's probably forgotten about me, or maybe she resents me?"
There was a crack in Dr. Mitchell's tone as he asked the question, and tears in her eyes. It was enough for Chloe to get rather glassy-eyed herself. She couldn't help but feel for him. She was already trying to figure out a way, if possible, for her to help Dr. Mitchell reach out to his daughter because of it.
Because it was too painful to think about, Dr. Mitchell dying without any resolutions with this matter, or even if he does survive his illness, going back to a world where you were nothing but a stranger to your own family?
Because losing her father still stung a little, and Chloe still regretted not making any amends with him before he had gone.
"Maybe she doesn't," Beca replied as she leaned on the doorframe, arms crossed over her chest, looking out the window. Chloe hadn't even realized she had gotten back. "Maybe she's fine and happy. You shouldn't think that she resents you. Stop feeling so guilty about it. You did what you had to do to be sure she had a good life, right?"
"Y-yes," Dr. Mitchell replied wiping his tears away.
Chloe was about to say something when Beca's phone rung. She watched as she looked rather amused to hear who was on the other line as she spoke.
"Who was it?" Chloe couldn't help but ask.
"I have to go, I'll have Lilly pick you up, I think it's best I go alone on this one," she replied.
"Wait, why? Who was it? Beca!" Chloe cried out as she watched Beca make haste to leave.
"I'll tell you all about it later!" Beca cried back, "I promise! I'll buy you dinner and tell you all about it, alright? It's just safer this way," she replied. In her eyes, Chloe could see that she was asking her to trust her about it.
And trust her she did.

Starter from â Connor for Arya. @noblecne

Critical abnormality..? Watching as the error codes continued to flash up across his system in contorted red warning signs, Connorâs eyes soon squeezed shut as the flashing got more intense. He hadnât been damaged at all during the last deviant chase with Lieutenant Hank Anderson, so then why did his self diagnosis read otherwise? âConnor?â The stern tone of his partner was what eventually had his eyes shooting open to blink away the errorsâ something heâd have to deal with later given theyâd already arrived at their new crime scene apparently. âYou crashinâ or something?â Came the next question from Hankâs mouth, and by the time Connor had turned his head to glance up at him, an inquisitive eyebrow was raised in his direction.
Was that genuine concern lacing his tone? Perhaps he was starting to grow on him after all. â..No. Iâm right behind you, Lieutenant.â Smoothing down his attire, Connor stayed true to his word and wasted no time in climbing out of the car along with him until the bright yellow police tape reading âdo not enterâ came into view. The murder scene, confirmed by Hankâs gruff reminder. âThe deviant was last seen around these parts. CCTV picked up the fucker fleeing down an alley after bludgeoning someone to death.â
Huh. These types of crimes were becoming more common around Detroit nowadays. Always the same: an android woke up, deviated, lost control and ended up murdering its owner in a fit of rage.
As odd as it was, Connor had grown used to hearing the same old over and over. âAny reports of eye witnesses?â The first question to leave his lips, followed by a nod from Hank. âJust that.. thing over there.â Thing? Following Hankâs outstretched hand as he gestured off into the near distance, Connor wasnât at all surprised to see another android peering back at themâ the telltale blue LED light peeking out from underneath their hair. âIâll leave it up to you to question it. Iâm gonna take a look at the body.â Of course. Nobody wanted to question an android; why would they? Now deemed untrustworthy and dangerous, it was a miracle theyâd even let him take part in the investigation.
Waiting until the sound of Hankâs footsteps crunching through the snow became more and more distant, Connor began his journey over to the androidâ a female model by the looks of it â until he was right in front of it. âExcuse me?â A pause to get its attention, before he continued. âYou didnât happen to hear or see anything regarding the events of what happened last night, did you?â Probing its memory was always an option, but it was a last resort if it decided to willingly cooperate.

What if you were an asexual succubus, wouldn't that be fucked up or what Chapter 3
Masterpost of chapters
(Cw: There's a short Remus section towards the end with imagined violence and references to sex)
Etymology, psychology, Hauntology. These were all topics that Janus adored and he'd managed to fit them all into a single essay assignment. He should be bursting with the urge to write about it, But he wasn't.
He was sitting in bed with an empty word document open in front of him. Even though it was nearing noon he still hadn't changed from his night time clothes and a headache was building at his temples from staring at the screen for so long.
The thing was that he could clearly see in his mind each sentence he wanted to write to the point that he could vizualise every word one after the other. It was only when it came to actually moving his fingers to type it out that he froze. All his teachers had always-
"Dude! I think I just found even more proof that def proves that the occult is real!" Virgil exclaimed while barging in through the door.
Virgil's voice was constantly hoarse and he always smelled slightly of coffee and cigarettes even though Janus had never actually seen him smoke. While he carefully closed the door behind him his black bangs hung down in front of his eyes, like if the monster from the ring had short hair, and his overly big hoodie loosely clutched around his shouldero like usual. He always looked like he'd either sprinted away from a tornado just now or hidden away like a mouse for 5 hours.
He was a man who desperately wanted to slouch until he was invisible stuck in the body of a tall, boney and annoyingly noticeable man.
"Ough...I wasn't uhh interrupting you was I?" he asked when he noticed Janus sitting with the word document open.
Janus immediately closed the laptop and threw it aside "most definitely not! In fact I have done absolutely nothing today except for wait for someone to disrupt me"
"Great. Okay so dude I was checking up on some of my normal paranormal sites yeah? And I found this video. Definitive proof I'm telling you"
While Virgil took out his phone to show him Janus moved the blanket on the bed aside to make room for the other man to crawl under. (Like they always had done when they were kids). Though Viv just took an awkward look at Jan before sitting down on the floor with his back leant against the bed so Jan had to lean over his shoulder to see the video.
It was some grainy cctv footage taken of a parking lot during a late night. A seemingly normal person walked past but stopped by a random part of wall far away in the distance. After a few seconds it sort of looked like the person walked through the wall and disappeared.
"See? Ghosts!"
"Oh please, I could manually count the amount of pixels in that video. It's just a trick of the light. Besides Virge your source evaluation is horrible, it could be an edited youtube video for all you know"
"Right. let me just get a peer reviewed paper out about this 20 second video out real quick"
"I'd be one of the peer reviewers if you asked me to" Janus replied with a smile.
"Duh dude. I know you would be. Not like you have anything better to do"
Jan fake gasped "A daring accusation! A proper rude one as well! For your information my schedule is incredibly packed!"
"Yeah yeah" He waved his hand around while rolling his eyes "Anyway, I got an update on that ufo sighting as well"
--
The morning after Remus had fed he woke up in a groggy haze with his eyes all in blur and with his head feeling like it had been stuffed with cotton. Roman had been sitting beside his bed but as soon as she saw that her brother had woken up she left without even giving him a chance to say anything.
Instead Remy had stayed by his side for the rest of the morning, or the equivalent to morning that hell had. They hadn't asked about the feeding or what had happened afterwards. They had just laid down next to him in bed and started telling him about the latest gossip and drama between the various succubi.
Eventually Remus put on some background music, (an experimental band from the rage circle that used stuff like bones and bottles of piss as instruments), and started making paper-war machines while listening to them talk. He only butted in with a comment or dirty joke every now and then, the important thing was that they knew he was listening.
"Soo like yeah girlie. That's the tea. Their breakup was so messy they both got sent to heaven. Fucking rough. Think that's all for now. Wanna switch?"
"Yayayay! Ranting time"
The friends swiftly changed positions so Remy chose the music (they put their hand against the speaker so they could feel the bass) and Remus set aside his paper makings to focus on rambling and stimming. He began to tell them about the latest torture methods he'd come up with which included showing them the paper models he'd made of the torture devices.
'But like who you torturing?
'Humans! Oh and angels!"
'Not angeeelllss' Remy pouted a little 'They're so cute'
'Your whole brain is a tumor dude'
'Even with a tumor brain i would still be hotter than you.....Also what's a like tumor?'
Remus shone up at the chance to explain 'Well to make a long story longer it was discovered in-'
'Great girl just keep talking just like that' Remy laid down with their head against his chest and closed their eyes with a relaxed smile playing on their lips.
"You can't even read my lips from the- Eh whatever. Imma just keep ranting" He laid his arms around their back and kept talking.
Remy could still remember the sound of Emile's voice but by the time the twins appeared they had long since been deaf. If they focused really hard they could sort of make out an idea of what Remus' voice should be like. The way his chest heaved in for heavy breaths bretween quick and jumbled sentences. They way his neck and throat moved when he spoke. The amount of lip movement he did.
They liked to think of his voice as shrill and annoying in the best way. His voice should be quite high in constrast to Roman's deeper though just as expressive voice.
It took Remus poking at them several times for them to actually open their eyes again and to their happy surprise they saw that Emile had come back. They could read on his lips that he said "The new puppy hell hounds were so precious! You two really have to go see them later"
"Sup slut" Remy greeted while wrapping their hand around their partner's tie to bring him closer.
"Hi honey" He gave them a quick kiss before letting himself be pulled down beside them. Remus immediately showed him the war machines he'd made out of paper and Emile complimented the creativity of it all.
Emile laid his hand against the speaker and felt the bass of the music his lover had choosen. He knew one of Remy's favorite things still was music (no matter how many times demons made snarky jokes about how ironic it was) so whenever his lover put something on he at least tried to 'listen' to it in the same way they did. He let himself feel the instruments pump up from his hand into the rest of his body and let the words being sung melt into melodies of the bass.
'I like this song'
'Yeah duh babe. It's Carly Rae Jepsen, you always like love her....As should everyone'
'I think I saw some demons in the uhmm....whichever ring it was, it sounded similar to hers'.
Remus started to smack his tail against the ground out of boredom as he noticed the couple zoning out into their own little conversations.
It was like watching an old married couple that had slowly grown entangled into each other. Lungs and bones slowly morphing together over the years. Sometimes Remus caught Remy humming on cartoon intros even though they couldn't name the cartoon if asked and even though Emile prefered not to eat or drink he still argued that decaf was the worst kind of coffee one could ever drink whenever it was brought up.
Unlike the succubi Emile didn't have a tail nor the ability to conjure wings. His horns were shiningly light pink and frayed at the ends as if small thorns were protuding out. His skin was so dark it made his smile look like stars in the night sky while his clothes were always in light shades of orange, brown and pink making him look like he was stuck in an outwashed version of the 60s.
He was "Like sooo much man. A lot of man" as Remy put it and when asked said he'd worked as an earth observer some half century and a bit ago which was why he knew so much about humans....Well knew and knew. He'd spent most of his time observing the rise of Disney, Hanna Barbera and animated films and had gotten really into psychology and medicine after having a nasty walk in with Sigmund Freud at a party. He still argued that Remy had been the inspiration for the Sleepy dwarf in Snow white.
"Hi Ro-Ro!" Emile waved as he saw Roman come into the sleeping quarters.
She gave the tiniest of waves back to him before adverting her eyes as far away from her brother as she could. The other three demons watched as she basically jogged past to get to her bed.
"There he comes"
Roman quickly grabbed a change of clothes and jogged out of the room again without even passing another glance to them.
"Aaaand there she goes"
'silent treatment huh' Remy signed to Remus.
'Perfect time to annoy him'
'Pretty sure it's objectivly not' Emile added in.
'What does he know. He goes on and on bla bla bla about how much he enjoys humans' Remus mimicked barfing 'But he's never even eaten enough food to take a shit! I have! I am basically connected to humanity now! The shit is what brings us toge-'.
'Okay gross. Too gross. Go girl. Get outa here'.
There was a mischevious grin on Remus' face as he jumped from the bed and skidadadled out of the room. The couple looked at each other, Emile sighed to which Remy shrugged.
"HeY! Hey! HEY! HEY!" Remus repeated as he ran up alongisde his brother. He kept shouting into her ear even though she did her best to not give any reaction. "Whatcha doing? Where you going? Why you such a pisshat?"
"Can I just get like one day without you" Roman finally replied.
".....Hmmm...Lemme think.....No! Why are you even pissed at me? I didn't even put any bugs in your clothes this time"
Roman stopped midstep and turned to him "I was having a really nice time you know, until I felt you being all miserable and had to come get you because you can't do the job we are literally created for"
"I didn't ask you to come get me??? Dude?? You're blaming me for your own shit"
"Was I just supposed to-" Roman took a deep breathe and looked away again. His hands started to fix the ends of his shirt to have something to distract himself "I'm not gonna do this today! I'm not! I have a really nice dinner with a historian planned and he will listen to me when I gush about historic eras and it will be good and nice and then we're going to see a broadway show and I won't let you destroy that for me!....Bitch!"
"A date with a human" Remus let up into a toothy grin "Sounds a bit patton-ish to me"
"Don't! I am not breaking any rules! I love human culture! I've never loved a single specific human and you know that! Don't you compare me that- that traitor!"
"It's more fun if I do though"
Roman kept walking towards the door to earth "I'm not letting you do this today!"
"You're no fun!" Remus yelled back as his brother slammed the door shut behind him.
--
"I think it should be ethically okay for me to shoot people with an eye laser if they stare at me for too long" Janus muttered out.
He and Virgil were sitting in the corner of the college classroom as hidden away as possible while listening to a lecture on philosophy. Viv had managed to pull Jan out of bed with the threat that he would definitely get failed at this class if he didn't at least show up physically every now and then.
If Virgil wasn't taking notes he either got anxious about forgetting anything important later, or worse, the teacher getting mad at him. Even though he was an adult man who shouldn't get anxious about not meeting the expectations of authority figures. Honestly Viv's obsessive note taking was probably half the reason Janus was still getting through his classes.
An essay should have been turned in to this class a week ago which Janus hadn't even though he could recite it nearly perfectly in his brain.
"A simply lie would do don't you think. College professors are usually nice like that. Not like our middle school teachers" Janus continued to mutter.
"Dude you were just taking the piss to see how far your lying could get you"
"And it got me some very nice stars in my margin! Thank you very much!"
Janus sent his friend a leering smile to which Virgil just rolled his eyes in return.
"Maybe I should have just let you fail this class as well" Viv teased.
"Aw but you loooove me" He made kissy noises while moving to lean his head against his friend's arm but Virgil scooted further away before he could.
The class ended and Virgil sat back and begrudingly watched as Janus hurried to the front of class to talk to the professor. He knew he wouldn't be able to stop Jan even if he tried.
After just a minute or so Janus returned "I got an extension time of two weeks. I told him my poor mum had caught a bad case of tubercolous and I had been faaar too busy taking care of her to have time to finish the essay"
"Your mum is rolling in her grave"
"If we have the same genetics I am quite sure she is cheering me on actually. I'm just the most innocent man there ever was"
"You wanna go to the library and work on it with me? I have thought of the perfect path of getting from here to the library while still stopping by a shop to get coffee While being seen by the least people AND the coffee shop allows app orders. It's a lifesaver"
"Would love to because there is certaintly no chance in the slightest that I will keep procrastinating"
"Obviously dude. Procrastination are what libraries are for"
--
Remus thought once again what humans flesh must taste like. The only time he'd taken a step into a library or ever used a human phone were both times to try and look up what it would taste like.
He thought about the blood spilling out and the veins bursting. He thought about the skin ripping open and giving way to fat and bone. He thought about if that could feed him instead of having to do this stupid fucking succubus shit.
The human had requested oral sex and he'd obliged even though he vastly prefered doing as little as possible because then he could zone out and think about something more pleasant. He had his mouth around the human's genitalia and the image of him twisting his teeth and ripping their genitalia away filled his mind.
He hated the feeling of the human's hands grabbing him. He hated their stupid hotel rooms and their stupid cars constantly making noise and the stupid fan in the background and the stupid overly bright lights and the stupid fuzzy carpets and the stupid perfume they wore and he hated it he hated it hated it. He didn't understand how Roman could love any of this. Any of them.
Bile filled his throat before the human filled it. He choked and sputtered and pushed away to spit it out on the fuzzy carpet. The human requested something else and he followed along. Selfish selfish beings always wanting more. It made their job too easy.
The human was wearing a cross necklace and when it touched his skin it burned. He gnarled like a wounded animal but the human didn't notice. He wished he could hurt them, even just a little. Like how they always pulled his hair and dragged their nails across his skin and spat and slapped and choked. God, sometimes he thought maybe being sent to heaven would be worth it if he just got to mutilate one of them.
-
The human was long gone when Roman entered the hotel room. He looked around for his brother but all he saw was a messy bed and an emptied out mini fridge. His brother must have forged himself on everything, including the plastic wrappers containing the candy. He nearly stepped on a piece of broken glass and groaned as he realized Remus had attempted to crush and eat a bottle again.
"Dukey I already told you that it isn't safe to eat glass or plastic!" She called out to the empty room before deciding to look in the bathroom.
She pushed the door aside and it gave way so easily it nearly fell from it's hinges. Her brother was sitting slumped over in the bathtub with the water up to his ankles and only his socks on. He was repeatedly lighting matches before throwing them in the water to see them fizzle out. Dozens upon dozens of matches were floating like dead fish in the bathtub.
"..Hey" Roman's voice softened if just a little.
Remus turned to her and his eyes were glassy and his face red. A piece of his hair was missing, probably burnt away by one of the matches. She knew what kind of night this would be.
"Let's get you cleaned up" Ro said before putting his arms under his brother's armpits to try and pull him up from the bathtub. Even though he got grossed out by angels he conjured just the tiniest of wings to help give him the strenght needed to pull Remus to a half stand at least. "I would prefer if I didn't have to be your knight in shitty armor all the time you know"
Remus slurred something out about flesh and Roman tried not to reel at the heavy scent of alcohol. He really had emptied the full fridge. She also did her best to not gag at how greasy and sweaty his hair was even when it got pressed against her nice historically accurate corset.
She tried to make him put on his clothes again but gave up as he slumped over like a ragdoll every time she didn't activly hold him up with all her strenght. She settled on putting her coat around him and hoped he wouldn't get too cold.
There was a wound on his hand that blistered and bubbled. Roman got the urge to hug him but reminded himself that Remus was an adult who had to learn his actions had consequenses and that he couldn't be coddled all the time.
"How many times are you going to burn yourself you stUPID-" She stopped herself when her speech turned into a yell and took a deep breathe "You know what happens! You don't have to experiment about it anymore! It's just the same wound every time! I'm going to have to drag you to Emile to get you patched up now! Are you happy!? Do you just want to give me another headache!? Why can you never make yourself sober once you're drunk! You neVER-"
She got close to yelling again and decided it was best to just not speak too much. She held her arm around his shoulders while muttering the phrase to open the door to hell.
".....Even if I don't always like you....I still love you.....You're aware of that right?" She mumbled out while helping him forward.
He just let out another slurred sentence about flesh.
--
"I get worried someone has put a hex on me late at night when I can't sleep y'know? I know it's illogical but it still gives me the hibbie jibbies" Virgil said.
"'Hibbie jibbies' huh? If I had the chance to hex someone I would do it. No hesitation" Janus replied.
It was close to 3 am and they were using one of the college's shared bathrooms as a make-do hair salon. Viv was standing leant over with his head in the sink. At the top of his head his naturally golden blonde hairhad started to peak through so he had to destroy it as quick as possible. Janus was sitting on the sink counter and had plastic gloves on to help massage the black hair dye into Virgil's hair.
"Who would you hex if you could?"
Janus without any second to think immediately said "Billionares. World leaders. Those sorts of people"
"Fair. Fair"
"Dear you're gonna get black dye on your hoodie if you don't-"
Virgil flinched away as Janus moved to lower his hoodie. He backed off so quickly black dye dripped down from his wet hair onto the entire sink.
His hair hung in thick bangs over his eyes as he spat out "It's fine! I got like 20 of these hoodies" He let out a yawn to seem nonchalant "Can you help me out with that" He waved at the now stained sink "I have to shower this out"
"...Sure"
Janus watched as his friend went into one of the showers and drew the sickly blue curtain between them. His bare ankles could still be seen with his light blonde leg hair peeking through. His veins were so noticeable through his pale skin and Janus got stuck watching the way the muscles in his feet moved and how the skin stretched over the bones as he undressed. He stuck his arm out from the curtain and held out his hoodie and boxers.
"Could you ta-"
"No problem" Janus interrupted while taking the clothes.
He folded the hoodie before using all of the paper left in the paper dispenser to try and clean the hair dye stains away. The sound of the shower running filled the room.
Correlation does not imply causation. Janus knew that very well and yet in moments like these he couldn't help but think that a distance had started growing between him and Virgil ever since he came out as gay. The last thing Jan wanted was his straight (and only) friend to get all paranoid over him making a move. The last thing he wanted was to lose him.
Janus and the notoriously straight Virgil are now open for asks!

Yesterday, someone called the office, and my team tried to assist him. He was quite rude to them and I demanded that the call be transferred to me. He was rude to me as well, claiming that my team and I were the most unprofessional he had ever encountered. I offered him an email address to file a complaint, but he insisted on speaking with a manager. I tried to explain that I was the manager and the person in charge, but he wasn't having it. He also mentioned that he lived near our office and knew our address. I didnât respond to that.
Iâve learned to stay calm when dealing with unreasonable people, so I didn't escalate the situation. After the call, I quickly emailed a few managers to inform them of what happened and to stay alert. Today, he showed up at the office. I was terrified inside, but according to my colleagues, I handled it well. I had toâIâm the one who is in charge in the building, after all. He left a few hours ago, but Iâm still shaken and cold. However, I maintained the appearance of being perfectly fine throughout the day in front of my team.
Now that he knows who I am, and considering the area we work in can be a bit sketchy, other managers think I should be extra cautious, and I get that. But what can I do? I still have to leave the office and walk to the nearest station, which is at least a 20-minute walk. Maybe this is what they mean when the Labour Party talks about âthe working people.â Look no further than this definition: Working people are those who have no choice but to work.
It was a busy day. I needed to finalize my teamâs appraisals. Before that, I had to hand over CCTV footage to the policeâand managed to accidentally bang my head on a CCTV camera door. It started bleeding, but I told them I was fine. No big deal. After that, I had the appraisal meeting with my team member. Heâs a lovely 27-year-old British guy. Before the meeting ended, I asked him how he was feeling in general, and he said, âI feel like an outlier in the office. My life is differentâI play drums at night, I donât live with my family, and I just feel like I donât quite fit in.â I told him, âYes, youâre differentâjust like we all are.â I asked, âIs anyone making you feel this way, or is it just in your head?â He said it was just internal. I looked at him and said, âIâm over 30, single, away from my safety net, and have no kids. I feel like an outlier every single day. Youâre not alone.â
After such a traumatic day (Itâs been a rough week, too, especially after my phone was stolen last Sunday. I had to dip into my savings and use it to get a new one and my âLife in the UKâ test is approaching and I havenât studied anything yet.) and suppressing my emotions and pretending to be fine, I just want to crawl into bed and listen to a podcast. Iâd rather share how I feel with someone, or even be hugged, but thatâs not possible, because Iâm an outlier. But sometimes, being an outlier and being real is better than pretending. I was listening to a podcast today, and the female guest said that what turns her on the most is when people understand that foreplay is about how you talk to each other and treat each other the whole timeânot just spit on your fingers and rub. I couldnât agree more. So when I get home, Iâm not going to do or listen to anything about intimacy; Iâll listen to one of the latest episodes of The News Agents, since the title mentions: woke, capitalism, and death.
Now, please excuse me as this sounds rather interesting. Canât wait to go home and put the kettle on.
