“Yeah, I know. I care about you too, Froppy,” Shoto replied with a slight nod.

They were patching each other up after a joint patrol together, where they quickly took down a villain with their teamwork, Shoto had just used his ice quirk to work as an ice pack against one of her injuries.

“How do you feel?” he asked her, to check that he was applying the right temperature to help.

"More than just a good friend?" Shoto repeated, he was surprised. While he appreciated the gesture and honesty, he had to do the same in return.

"I'm sorry, Tsuyu," he replied, no longer referring to her by hero name due to how personal the conversation went. "As I am now, I don't think I'd be a good boyfriend."

He wasn't exactly saying no, but giving Tsuyu a heads up to minimise her expectations of him being a good boyfriend, because he was focusing on himself and hero work so much. Then again, they were in a similar situation when it came to hero work, but that kind of compatibility didn't come to mind yet.

"Better but..." Tsuyu cleared her troat. "Kerro, when I said I really care about you, I mean as more than just a good friend." She explained sheepishly.
