The moment Shisui saw all those eyes, he had to fight the urge to throw up. How Itachi could pluck all those eyes out, of the heads of their friends, loved ones, and family members. He successfully gulped that treacherous bile that wanted to come out. He needs to harden his heart. No, he must if he thinks to follow Itachi, if he thinks to survive.

The Akatsuki is a criminal organization that will do and has done a lot more than just steal a few eyes. Was this their fate is it? And the fate of the clan and the village? There was a visible change in his best friend’s stance, in his voice, in his attitude. It seems that he has grown up in the course of one bloody night. He looks tired, his thin legs and thin arms like a bird’s wings, shiver still even when they are miles away.

The look in Itachi’s eyes when Shisui mentioned that they can still watch over the village, was one filled with pure hate, and disappointment he felt betrayed. And he was, they both were, Hokage knew how twisted Danzo is yet no one did anything to help them. As if all were given a vote ‘Yes’ for a massacre. There was little point in trying to change Itachi’s mind, for Shisui himself would whenever he looked upon his own hands, regardless of clean or not would see blood on his hands. He wash and wash but his mind refuse to see it clean.

The meeting was arranged on the outskirts of the Sunagakure no Sato, there was this isolated old building complex, abandoned years ago naturally. When two Uchihas arrived, they expected subordinates to welcome them. But that was not the case.

Pain and Paper Angel– the leaders of the Akatsuki in person. What better welcome could two legends of the Uchiha clan could ever ask for.

They made them massacre their own clan, a part of Itachi was suspicious. Their eyes were especially powerful, just like the Hyuga, and he heard a body from that clan was traded to keep the peace. This was no different, their lives were traded to stop the Uchiha coup to protect Konoha. As disgusting as it was, they had the right to those eyes from their fellow clan members.

Itachi’s goal was set, Shisui had thankfully given him another organisation to serve. At least a group of rogue ninja would put them in a better position than Konoha did, he was a criminal now, it was fitting he now worked alongside those like him. So he followed Shisui’s lead to the outskirts of Suna, surprised at who would be meeting them.

“I sense a certain presence from them, are they?” Itachi wondered as he turned to Shisui, then approached.

“I am Itachi Uchiha, I thank you for your time and consideration. As you may have heard, I wish to join your organisation.” He introduced himself with a slight bow of respect. These two who he assumed where from the Hidden Rain, had a heavenly presence about them.

Konoha Traitor [Itachi & Shisui, Akatsuki AU]

Itachi had just finished killing off his entire clan, though he had some help and also spared his brother Sasuke. While he was a righteous tool for his village, this last mission had pushed him too far, and he would be branded a traitor for it. So he fell into the deepest of despair. If Konoha intended to make him a monster, he might as well be the worst one to the very end.

“Thanks for your help, Shisui,” Itachi spoke once he saw his mentor in the moonlight, he was truly grateful for his guidance over the years. If there was anything he cherished in his cursed life, it was their friendship over the years. “This is goodbye, I have no choice but to live the rest of my life, and then eventually fall, as a rogue shinobi.”
