I am getting to the point that I might need to start unfollowing certain cat subs on reddit because the amount of people who truly and genuinely believe that letting cats free roam outside is the best choice or that they are somehow special and live in a place free of danger and wildlife that their cat could kill and then also claiming that everyone who insists that cats should be indoor only is an uncultured USAmerican who is too sheltered to understand the nuances of their culture is really getting to me despite me trying to not engage.

Like I know they aren’t going to listen to what I have to say because they are overwhelmed with everyone shouting at them for letting their cats outside and it’s only making them defensive but I get so annoyed at how careless they are with their cats and I end up responding and it’s just not healthy at this point.

Not looking for advice. Just venting.

Also the fact that you're not allowed to tell people 'hey, get your cat fixed' when like... it would solve a lot of the problems they are complaining about or asking about.

I see so many posts like, "my male cat keeps spraying, how do i get him to stop?" or "my female cat keeps having kittens and i can't keep them all, how can i keep her from getting pregnant?"

it's fucking demoralizing.
