All for Edix!!
omg i swear u guys hate me holy shit. all under a cut again
Where were you rezzed?
“In a grave outside of a long-abandoned village. Lots of burnt-out buildings, lots of Fallen arc spears around. It looked like there had been a battle there forever ago.”
How long ago was it?
“Well, I was a child when I was rezzed, and I’m in what would be a mortal late-twenties now. So a long time ago.”
Did you have anything in your pockets?
“No, but I was buried with a stuffed bunny toy.”
What was your first week alive like?
“Stressful. I was just a child and I couldn’t defend myself, so my Ghost had to ping the Vanguard on the emergency frequency for a rescue. We hid under a rusted-out piece of metal for a day before Zavala, my dad, arrived.”
How did you react to your new role as a Guardian?
“When I was old enough to understand and start training to be a Guardian, I thought it was great. To be able to stand up for what was right and to defend the last of humanity, it felt right. Now though? I just want to be left alone to study my plants and raise Kilgharrah, my Ahamkara.”
Do you have any regrets?
“That I wasn’t able to save Cayde in the Prison of Elders.”
How did you get your name?
“My dad named me in my first life. When I was brought back to the Tower after being resurrected, he recognised me immediately and reinstated my name and got to raise me again.”
Does your ghost have a name?
“Spiro. We found audio logs about an old game with the same name when we were exploring, and he liked the name so we used it. Turns out we spelled it wrong until we found a copy of the game, but I don’t care. It’s cute.”
What is your ghost like?
“Spiro is a worrier. But at the same time, he’s got more common sense than I do and he’s really good at talking me out of bad moods. I don’t know what I’d do without him, irrespective of being a Guardian.”
How do you feel about the last city and the vanguard?
“The Last City is my home and the Vanguard are my family, but they need work on how they operate since Cayde died. Dad’s become more distant and Ikora is more unpredictable and I worry for the both of them.”
What’s your favourite place to go?
“Io, to see Asher, or to just hole up in my garden or greenhouse and continue my studies.”
Do you participate in strikes or the crucible?
“Strikes. I rarely go into the Crucible. While I respect Lord Shaxx, it’s distracting hearing him shout at me all the time in Crucible matches and I get stressed out faster when he does. I know it’s meant to be motivational, but I don’t like it a whole lot.”
How do you celebrate the holidays?
“I spend it with dad, or with Artie when she returns to the Tower from her ventures. I’ve tried repeatedly to persuade Asher to come to the Tower for Dawning at least, but he isn’t interested. So I split my time between home and Io for him so he isn’t lonely out there.”
Who is your favourite NPC and who is your least favourite?
“…. I’m fond of Asher. Everyone calls him an asshole and an angry prick, but he has his reasons for being like that and I believe that underneath it all he’s a charming man. That said, I don’t like Petra. She puts too much stock in her Queen, if she can even be called that anymore, to the point it blinds her to Mara’s failings. I could stand there until I’m bluer in the face telling her this, and she’d still find reason to call me a liar.”
Where do you sleep/call home?
“I have my own apartment in the Tower, but sometimes I do just go back to dad’s apartment if trying to cope by myself gets to be too much. I’m lucky that he always welcomes me there, and it’s good for him too for me to be there. Dad doesn’t exactly have a concept of sleep, so if I’m there it means he can try and rest.”
Do you have any pets or companions?
“I may or may not have an Ahamkara called Kilgharrah, three cockatiels called Bert, Den and Dor and two cats, Nebula and Merlin.”
(side note, the cockatiels are named after my nan’s cockatiel - Bert - and my late grampy and nan - Dennis and Doreen
Does anyone live with you?
“Aside from the actual horde of pets, not really no. Artie sometimes stays over if she’s gotten in trouble, or for other reasons. Other than that, no. It’s just me.”
How do you unwind or comfort yourself?
“I hole up in my garden and greenhouse for days at a time if things have been bad. It’s not a great attempt at comfort, but it does help a little. Normally though I just sit down in the evenings with my crochet and make a bunch of stuff.”
What would truly break you?
“… losing those important to me, or getting left behind by them for something or someone better. It’s… it’s a scary thought and I try not to think about it.”
Most embarrassing moment?
“Having to explain to Asher why I wasn’t available on Io for a couple of days after my top surgery. He took it really well, and was fully supportive in his own way, but it was still embarrassing to have to explain.”
Any cherished memories?
“Meeting Kilgharrah and his mother for the first time beneath Io. While his mother died shortly after, she was the most breathtaking sight I’ve ever seen. A real Ahamkara, in all her glory, just sat there. Her wings and feathers and scales were just incredible and were largely immaculate, despite being hidden where she was for so long. Another cherished memory is meeting Artemis for the first time. She’s been a dear friend, even if she has her own dangerous endeavours. I don’t know what I’d do without her.”
artie is @slumberblues‘s
What was your highest and/or lowest point?
“After the incident regarding Crota and how I got my scars, I was at my lowest point. I wouldn’t eat, hardly spoke. I got caught apparently performing Hive rituals in my bedroom on three different occasions before the Vanguard realised there were shards of Crota’s soul crystal lodged in my eye.
My highest point? That would have to be when my transitioning was finally finished with and I could be me.”
Views on the enemy races?
“I don’t believe the Fallen to be our enemy, despite the fighting I think they could be our biggest ally.. The Vex and Hive, and by proxy the Taken, are perhaps our biggest threats and need to be dealt with first. The Cabal are just pathetic and the Scorn are abominations.”
Which enemy race is your most/least favourite?
“The Fallen are most interesting to me. I’ve tried to communicate with Captains on various occasions, before some Guardians came blundering in and slaughtered them for no damn reason. I hate the Hive and the Vex.”
What’s your role in a fireteam? (Tank, support, buff/healer, comic relief? Or are you the dead weight?)
“Dead weight.”
“Healer, Edix.”
“Thanks, Spiro.”
Do you have any mentors/mentees?
“The commander is my mentor and my father. I hope I don’t end up with any mentees, I’d be useless to them.”
What is your favourite weapon type/favourite weapon?
“Better Devils is a good handcannon and I will hold onto it forever. After that, I really like Thunderlord. Handcannons, auto rifles, shotguns and machine guns are the ones I prefer to use when I have to. Although, Eternity’s Edge is a good sword on the rare occasion I use it.”
Do you play Gambit?
“No.”
How do you feel about the Drifter?
“I don’t trust him. I’d like to, I hear about his intentions a lot and how he means well for the most part, but it’s just the interactions with the primevals and Taken that concern me.”
If you could be any class/subclass (not just your own), what would you be and why?
“I’d like to be better at using Ward of Dawn. I didn’t realise until lately that I actually had that ability, but it isn’t as strong as dad’s.”
What are your thoughts on the Nine?
“I don’t like them, since their whole business is shady in and of itself, but their aesthetic is cool.”
Any secret crushes or relationships we need to know about?
“…. noooooo…..”
“He likes Asher.”
“Spiro!”
Does your Ghost approve, or haven’t you told them?
“Of course I know, Edix spends a lot of time in his head and I can always hear his thoughts unless he really doesn’t want me to, which is rare. He’s just embarrassed to admit to it and thinks it couldn’t possibly come to anything, given Asher’s nature.”
You’re about to go off-planet on assignment, and will only be able to eat protein rations and food gel for a month. What’s your last meal?
“Anything my dad cooks. Despite all the jokes everyone makes about the commander, he does make really good meals.”
If you could take over any NPC’s job, who would it be and why?
“I don’t know. I think it’s expected that I take up overseeing the strikes and nightfalls from my dad, but I don’t think he’ll relinquish his duty that easily. Asher’s job is interesting, but I fear the day he… y’know. I don’t like to think about that.”
What is the most beautiful sight you’ve seen?
“I’m not sure. I’ve seen a lot of beautiful things, varying from places to things. Although, I think when I caught the rare blooming of a flower on Venus is pretty good.”
Do you have a favourite colour?
“Blues are nice colours.”
Show us your favourite outfit!
“I don’t have one”
What’s your favourite shader?
“The Io shaders are nice, even though people say they’re not. Some of the ones Calus offers are pretty good too, though I don’t really like things that are overly ostentatious.”
If you could make a wish to an Ahamkara for anything - no strings attached - what would you wish for?
“I’d never ask Kilgharrah for anything when he’s old enough to actually grant wishes, but I suppose I’d just ask to be able to help people more than I already can.”

All for Vigil!!
all under a cut c:
Where were you rezzed?
“In a snow drift somewhere in a forest. Still don’t know exactly where, but I think it was somewhere deep in the EDZ. Warden won’t tell me, I think he knows exactly where but he refuses to tell. Either way, being born in a snow drift meant that I’m practically immune to the cold.”
How long ago was it?
“Oh, nearly two-thousand years ago now I think.”
Did you have anything in your pockets?
“Not that I can recall-”
“You had a photograph of a family in your pocket.”
“Ah, yes, now I remember. It was an old and worn photo of what I’m assuming was my family in my first life.”
What was your first week alive like?
“Hell. I spent much of it just trying to find a way out of the forest I was in. At least I was fortunate and didn’t succumb to the cold at any point, but starvation and exhaustion was a problem until I found the first village in days and for miles around.”
How did you react to your new role as a Guardian?
“The title of Guardian doesn’t mean anything to me, perhaps even less now than it did a century ago when it came about. I’m just here to do my duty and nothing less.”
Do you have any regrets?
“Too many to regale you with. I don’t think even a Guardian would live long enough to hear them all.”
How did you get your name?
“I believe my Ghost named me.”
“Nope, you named yourself in a way. Your determination to fight through the cold to civilisation, the way you protected every village you had to go to. I think at some point the people described your actions as nothing but vigilance, and you took it from that point.”
“I don’t remember that.”
“You wouldn’t, this was within the first year of your life.”
Does your Ghost have a name?
“He’s called Warden.”
What is your Ghost like?
“He’s steadfast and very brave, keeps me focused often and always lets me know when I have meetings and such. I don’t know where I’d be without him.”
“Dead, probably.”
“He’s a smartass, too.”
How do you feel about the Last City and the Vanguard?
“The Last City is my home and I will protect it with everything I have at my disposal. The Vanguard... they’re something. It’s never been perfected, and fortunately never claimed to be, but even less after Cayde passed. They do their best, though. Always have.”
What’s your favourite place to go?
“Just for a stroll through the City, on the few days off I take. Or into the mountains or forests around the City.”
Do you participate in strikes or the Crucible?
“Crucible, but only on rare occasions and sometimes Crimson Days with my husband and partner. It’s quite amusing to hear Guardians freaking out at the Speaker and his bodyguard causing havoc in the Crucible.”
How do you celebrate the holidays?
“With my partners, Hakim and Null. Occasionally Guardian, when they come home to the Tower.”
Hakim, Null and Guardian belong to @autobotrose
Who is your favourite NPC and who is your least favourite?
“Well considering I’m married to him, the Speaker is my favourite. Osiris can go suck my-”
“AHEM.”
Where do you sleep/call home?
“My apartment in the Tower, of course.”
Do you have any pets or companions?
“Not particularly.”
Does anyone live with you?
“My partners. Vencel did, until a few years ago. Now Guardian comes and goes as they please.”
How do you unwind or comfort yourself?
“I prefer to sit myself in my armchair in the evenings and work on one of the many crochet projects I have going. Alternatively I’ll read, or just spend it cuddling Hakim and Null.”
What would truly break you?
“Losing all I love. Not being able to protect Hakim, like I’m supposed to do given it’s been my job for the past eight centuries - perhaps even longer.”
Most embarrassing moment?
“....”
“He won’t say it, so I will. The time he, Null and Hakim thought they were all hard-nails and tried to brave a haunted house together. Oh, and let’s not forget the time Vigil ran screaming through the Haunted Forest with Guardian and Null.”
“Hey that was a great time-”
“Vigil, you called the Nightmare a cunt.”
“Yes, yes I did do that.”
“You yeeted Guardian across the Forest.”
“That too.”
“And as good as picked Null and Guardian up and charged to the finish with them, only to fall through the floor.”
“Also that.”
Any cherished memories?
“The day I met Hakim, the day I met Null. When Vencel was born-”
“- he cried so hard that day-”
“-and when I asked Hakim and Null to marry me.”
What was your highest and/or lowest point?
“Our wedding day, of course. Lowest point was the Red War as a whole. I wasn’t myself during it, or even afterwards. It really got to me that I failed to protect the Speaker, that Ghaul had managed to kidnap him. Null can tell you just how much of a wreck I was around the Farm for the longest time.”
Views on the enemy races?
“They’re all a pain in the ass. The Fallen are the ones I perhaps feel most sorry for.”
Which enemy race is your most/least favourite?
“I can deal with the Fallen and I’ve ripped apart more than my fair share of Cabal, but Vex and Taken? Now the concepts of what they are, that’s beyond my intelligence.”
What’s your role in a fireteam? (Tank, support, buff/healer, comic relief? Or are you the dead weight?)
“Tank.”
“Seriously, the amount of walls he’s come crashing through is tremendous. Plus, my Guardian can take an inhuman amount of hits from enemy forces. I’m pretty sure he’s not human, outside of the whole Lightbearer thing.”
Do you have any mentors/mentees?
“No and no. While I train my Guard well, I do not consider them my mentees.”
What is your favourite weapon type/favourite weapon?
“Thunderlord.”
“Pfft, more like fists.”
“Thanks, Warden.”
Do you play Gambit?
“Absolutely not.”
How do you feel about the Drifter?
“I don’t trust him and if I were able to without causing my husband some distress, I would have yeeted his ass off the damn Tower by now. I don’t care for the sob-story he’s selling susceptible Guardians, he needs to be gone now.”
If you could be any class/subclass (not just your own), what would you be and why?
“... I’ve always envied how Hakim is able to float like he does...”
What are your thoughts on the Nine?
“I don’t know enough about them to make a fully accurate judgement, but I know that I don’t trust them.”
Any secret crushes or relationships we need to know about?
“I hardly make my relationship with Hakim and Null a secret.”
“Well you used to have a massive crush on Saint-”
“Shut up, Warden.”
Does your Ghost approve, or haven’t you told them?
“He approves, and gets along very well with Vega and Redwood. Even if all three of them like to swap embarrassing stories at times.”
You’re about to go off-planet on assignment, and will only be able to eat protein rations and food gel for a month. What’s your last meal?
“Anything Null or Hakim has made.”
If you could take over any NPC’s job, who would it be and why?
“I don’t know that there really is a job I’d like to take over, I’m content with being head of the Speaker’s Guard and his bodyguard.”
What is the most beautiful sight you’ve seen?
“Watching Hakim roll over in bed and scrunch his face up at the sunlight peeking through the blinds. When Ven was still a baby and would make little ‘ababah’ noises at everything and everyone. When Null showed us their Void form for the first time.”
Do you have a favourite colour?
“.... Neutral whites and greys. Blue is good.”
Show us your favourite outfit!
“I don’t have a fashion taste, let alone a favourite outfit. Hakim... practically picks everything out for me, my fashion taste is that nonexistent.”
What’s your favourite shader?
“I’m not sure yet. Like I said, no fashion taste and this extends to not knowing what colours go well together.”
If you could make a wish to an Ahamkara for anything - no strings attached - what would you wish for?
“To save those infants I failed to during the Dark Age. So many little motes of Light lost to mere illness...”

AAALL for Cidrex because he is my favorite boy
alright u asked for it >:U all of this fuckery will be under a cut
Where were you rezzed?
“In a forest somewhere in the EDZ, I think. I don’t really remember much of it, I was pretty much immediately attacked by Fallen, so there was a lot of running for my life.”
How long ago was it?
“During the Dark Ages, so a reaaaally long time ago. Like, during the prime of the Iron Lords.”
Did you have anything in your pockets?
“Just a lump of crystal quartz, but it was rose-coloured and I guess that’s where my obsession with shiny things and collecting crystals from? Oh, I also had some old currency from the Golden Age. No idea what kinda currency, but I cleaned them up and they’re super shiny and really cool.”
What was your first week alive like?
“Stressful. It was a lot of learning how to survive and trusting my Ghost to heal any injuries and bring me back if I died. That was a shock in itself though, when I died for the first time.”
How did you react to your new role as a Guardian?
“Well I became an Iron Lord before I became a Guardian, and that was pretty alright until SIVA happened. After that, being a Guardian and being an Iron Lord became the same thing - just doing the right thing because no one else will, or can.”
Do you have any regrets?
“I couldn’t save my brothers and sisters of Iron from SIVA. Saladin has always told me that I couldn’t have saved them by myself, but I still regret not doing more to at least try.”
Does your ghost have a name?
“He’s called Socks-”
“IT’S SOX!”
“-because he used to hide in my sock drawer at the Iron Temple.”
What is your ghost like?
“He calls himself Sox because he wants to look cool, and I think he cares too much about how he looks from the perspective of other Ghosts. I dunno if Ghosts are judgy to one another, but what I do know is that Sox used to hang around a not-so-great group of them. He’s small for a Ghost and I think this group sorta... took the piss. He tries to act tough a lot, but I know that deep down he cares a lot and he does like his actual name.”
How do you feel about the last city and the vanguard?
“I was sent to the Last City by Saladin to act as a so-called ambassador between the City and the Temple, so it’s like a second home to me now. I know all the streets like the back of my hand, even the sectors I’m not really meant to venture into. The Vanguard are alright, they have their hiccups but I know they mean well and try their best. Well, the did until Cayde... yeah.”
What’s your favourite place to go?
“Cayde used to describe it as wanderlust, but I like wandering all over the Earth and seeing all the ruins and wilds there are. Though my favourite place out of all is the Lost Sector in Winding Cove. It’s so beautiful there with the glow-worms in the dark and the reflection of them in the water. Nice and quiet too, when it’s cleared out every other day.”
Do you participate in strikes or the crucible?
“Strikes. I leave the Crucible to my brother, Othion.”
How do you celebrate the holidays?
“I used to celebrate in getting blackout drunk with Cayde and the rest of the Vanguard, we even used to persuade Shaxx and Othion to join us sometimes. Now though I spend them by myself just tinkering with the stuff I’ve collected over the years.”
Who is your favourite NPC and who is your least favourite?
“It was and will always be Cayde. I can’t get along with Ada-1, though. She unnerves me and acts rather stuck-up despite allowing Guardians into the Black Armory now.”
Where do you sleep/call home?
“I have my own apartment in the Tower, of course, and unlike most Hunters that’s where I call home. It gets me weird looks though, I know a lot of Hunters prefer sleeping under the open stars and it gets Sox to tease me and call me ‘a domesticated hunter’.”
Do you have any pets or companions?
“I wanted to get a cat when Cayde was still around, but we never got round to doing it. Though I kinda have magpies that come to stay when I’m at home. I put feed out on the window sill for them and sometimes they come back with shiny trinkets for me. Oh, and I look after Colonel too, but I’m not allowed to keep Colonel in my apartment because other Hunters would throw a fit.”
Does anyone live with you?
“Cayde and I talked about it, about him moving in with me or something. Again, we never got round to it.”
How do you unwind or comfort yourself?
“It’s embarrassing to admit, but when me and Sox went exploring a while back we found a stash of what used to be called ‘stim toys’. Lots of pots of squishy clay-like dough. Sometimes if I’m overwhelmed I just dig out one of the pots and just sit there squishing it for an hour or so. In terms of general relaxation, if I have the attention span I’ll read or if I don’t then I’ll watch some movies. I got a good collection of Golden Age and pre-Golden Age movies now.”
What would truly break you?
“Losing someone close to me again. I lost Cayde and I wasn’t myself for a long time. If I were to go through that again, I really don’t think I’d recover at all.”
Most embarrassing moment?
“When Sox resurrected me for the first time after dying and I sat there crying and threw up for two hours. It wasn’t... my greatest moment.”
Any cherished memories?
“All of my time with Cayde, to be honest with you. Even when we argued, I cherish those memories greatly. Also the first time I discovered a rare crystal, that was a pretty good moment too.”
What was your highest and/or lowest point?
“Like I said, losing Cayde devastated me almost to a point of no return. Highest point? First Crimson Days with Cayde, we wrecked shop in the Crucible together and got banned in the same day! The look on Izel’s face was glorious.”
Views on the enemy races?
“I don’t like the Taken or Scorn, those are practically a given. Vex are annoying and freak me out a little. Cabal I loathe for what they did to the City, though that’s predominantly the Red Legion but whatever. Hive also freak me out now I think about it, though the worms they drop are kinda cute. Fallen? I just feel pity for them. They lost everything in their own version of the Collapse and are just trying to get by, and yet we keep attacking them.”
Which enemy race is your most/least favourite?
“I hate the Scorn for what they did. On the flip side of that, I rather like the Fallen. I got a chance to get to know a few, like Mithrax, and they’re honestly not that bad when you do get to know them.”
What’s your role in a fireteam? (Tank, support, buff/healer, comic relief? Or are you the dead weight?)
“Dead weight.”
“No you aren’t, Cidrex, you’re a sniper.”
Do you have any mentors/mentees?
“Saladin and many of the original Iron Lords were my mentors, but I don’t have any mentees. Hunters ask me for advice every so often, but I don’t give it. I don’t want to be in that position, I’m not a good teacher.”
What is your favourite weapon type/favourite weapon?
“Give me my DARCI and I’m good to go. I like auto rifles a lot though, despite me using snipers a lot I’m not that great up close so it’s easier for me to just kinda spray and pray without the instability of SMGs.”
Do you play Gambit?
“Sometimes. It can get really stressful trying to deal with invaders that use utter bastard weapons.”
How do you feel about the Drifter?
“I don’t know. Everything about his operations just tell me that I can’t trust him at all, but then I got to know him better and I just feel... kinda sad?”
If you could be any class/subclass (not just your own), what would you be and why?
“Striker Titan, cuz it looks like fun and a great stress and tension relief. Though, I’d like to be able to use Gunslinger properly, I’ve never been able to use it all that well even when Cayde tried to teach me. I’d just like to do it, for him.”
What are your thoughts on the Nine?
“Fuckin’ weird. I don’t trust them at all, especially not after I saw the Emissary for the first time. Though Xur’s pretty cool.”
Any secret crushes or relationships we need to know about?
“Well.... there is this one guy. Hunter, but he’s built like a Titan. Got no social skills and the emotional range of a teaspoon, but he’s charming in his own way regardless.”
“It’s Ataric.”
“SOX!” @crazy-bone-lady
Does your Ghost approve, or haven’t you told them?
“Sox is a piece of shit that tries to out my crush at every given moment. Luckily, he’s a tiny piece of shit so I can just hold him in my hands and he can’t do anything.”
You’re about to go off-planet on assignment, and will only be able to eat protein rations and food gel for a month. What’s your last meal?
“I don’t really have a preferred meal or anything, so I’d just get take-out somewhere in the City. I know a couple really good joints.”
If you could take over any NPC’s job, who would it be and why?
“Cayde’s job as Hunter Vanguard. I know every Hunter has just about run for the hills, and will always do so when they hear the words ‘Vanguard Dare’, but I’d be happy to take up the position. I’ve already taken up his cloak, might as well take the job that came with it right?”
What is the most beautiful sight you’ve seen?
“When Sox and I were exploring an Io cave system, we fell through into a massive chamber filled with crystals. The light from where we’d fallen through shone on the crystals in such a way it created an utterly breathtaking spectrum of colour. We took so many photos of that moment, it was just so amazing to see all these crystalline spires lit up and practically glowing.”
“What about that sunrise in the EDZ?”
“Oh yeah, this one was pretty good.”
Do you have a favourite colour?
“Not particularly, though green’s pretty good since I dyed my hair with it.”
Show us your favourite outfit!
“Top picture, switch the pants for the Lucky Pants and you’re sorted. Bottom picture, I miss my BrayTech hood. It was super cosy, and paired nicely with the Taimat(?) chestpiece.”
What’s your favourite shader?
“New Monarchy Diamonds and Metro Shift.”
If you could make a wish to an Ahamkara for anything - no strings attached - what would you wish for?
“To save all those I failed to save. The Iron Lords, Cayde. All of them.”
