Honestly I grow tired of the lack of nuance the WoF fandon exhibits when it comes to characters like Winter, Peril, Sundew, Tsunami, etc and etc. I want to mainly focus on Winter this time around, as I find he's a direct parallel to Qibli in so many ways.

The two characters are the opposite sides of the same coin. They both had similar upbringings, being abused by their family and never exactly having the best support group (if at all), eventually they put up a facade to hide their true selves. Winter is aggressive and snarky, having the IceWing attitude forced onto him as he was punished for showing any sort of kindness or sincerity. Qibli is cocky and charismatic, believing that if he puts on a show then others will like him as he's convinced he's nothing more than a pathetic and miserable dragon undeserving of love.

I don't think people...get that when they write about Qinter. They look at them at a very surface level and see them as opposing forces, when really they're both almost the same. It's a shame how they get mischaracterized though. Winter is an asshat who constantly berates others while Qibli just. becomes the facade that he puts on. Like there's no complexity to his character in most fics he's just straight up The Funny Guy persona he puts on. Wow.

I dunno. I find it missed potential. I've been meaning to explore and tinker around with it myself, but I'm already caught up in enough work as is.

The children all tug at his pants, dragging him down even as he tries to back away, to escape, to do anything but be drowned in the gathering group of whining toddlers and children. Of kids who won't go to sleep, who want to play, play, play. They scream. They wail. They pout and they are naughty. Purple haze fogs out the details of each child in his view, one screaming in his arm and kicking and pushing against him and causing all the others to wake up. They shouldn't be waking up. Don't wake up. Stop waking up. Stop screaming. Stop crying. They're all naughty. Every single one of them. They won't listen to him. They're all rulebreakers, and they should be put into time out. Messages in code ring in his head but are left unanswered. No pleas are able to get to Him. No begging works against the surge of violet purple that carries him forward. It was too loud. He- We put them to sleep. Its too quiet. Oops! Looks like the daycare needs a little clean up! :) (Moon based drabble<3)
