it’s not often he finds himself colliding with someone more than once. if anything, it’s been nurtured into him that keeping a distance from others, at least mentally was paramount for a healthy and successful life. his bad experiences have added to that notion impressively, it’s the way he’d been living his life for the last five or so years, as a result. it’s why it’s a surprise to him that conversation comes so effortlessly with the other. not just small talk or sweet talk, either. no -- there’s authenticity there, a smile seeping onto his features without his permission. though he seems too distracted to tell, or be concerned about the fact. “you want a drink, elodie?” he’ll ask then; his accent never leaving him, he’d never forgive himself if it did. “i have a very large collection,” he adds on, words lingering as he finds himself wanting to remain in her company; smile growing all the more. // @catvstrophes
