Atlanta Wedding Photographers capture the Big Day at Atlanta's best Wedding Venues and Landmarks
I have talked to a lot of Atlanta wedding photographers.  We chat about all the beautiful venues in our city and how we love the diverse choices brides and grooms have.  Since my background is in historic preservation I tend to like historic venues.  The most popular historic church in Atlanta is Christ the King and to me the best historic home is Naylor Hall. This week’s couple Katherine and Forest are people after my own heart.  They chose both of those venues.
Katherine and Forest were recommended to me by Abbey from Naylor Hall.  I have shot numerous weddings at Naylor Hall and everytime is so much fun.  I feel like I find a new photo location each time I am there.  As the light changes at Naylor Hall it reveals new ways to present itself and shine like the beauty it is.
Katherine and Forest’s wedding day started at Christ the King, the ceremony location.  Katherine got there first with her mom and sister.  They got dressed in the newly renovated bridal room.  It is a large room located on the second floor at the street level entrance.  Inside the room there is everything a bride would need.  This includes several large full length mirrors,  a few makeup stations with mirrors for the bridesmaids, two large couches, chairs and plenty of outlets for whatever the brides team may need.  There is even a large chandelier in the middle of the room for a touch of grandeur.
The guys arrived a little later and came dressed.  They put on their boutonnieres in the conference room down the hall from the ladies.  The groom’s dad had picked the flowers for the boutonnieres from a flower farm near their mountain cabin in North Carolina. They were a nice heartfelt touch from the dad for the guys.
While the ladies were still getting ready I took the guys outside to the garden area to the east of the church. Where there is a quiet little sanctuary for guests.  It has a brick patio, benches and many beautiful flowers for a perfect photo backdrop.  The guys were awesome and we knocked their photos out quickly.  Once done I tucked them away so they would not see the bride.
Once they were safely away I brought out Katherine.  Her mom and sister were doting on her as she was getting ready to leave the bridal room. Her hair and dress were perfect and complemented the bride.  We went outside to the garden again and took some photos with the bride and her family.  We only had a few minutes so we went back inside and got ready for the wedding.  While everyone was lining up for the wedding I snuck off with the bride and her sister and took a few more photos in the large hall next to the sanctuary.  It is a grand room with large stained glass, marble columns and an arched ceiling.  Once we were finished there it was show time!
The guests were escorted to the front of the church where they filled up the pews.  Once they were seated the family entered and filled in the front two pews.  The priest and the two accolades came in after the guests were seated and then the parents and close family members came after.  While they trickled in Katherine and her dad were nervously chatting and getting ready for their entrance. Once the groom was in place the music changed, the guests rose to their feet and turned to see the beautiful bride escorted by her father to the altar. The ceremony was rather quick since they did not have a full mass.  The priest shared some very thoughtful advice for life and marriage.  After a few more words and a brief blessing they were pronounced husband and wife.  They then had their first married kiss in front of god and guests.
I wanted to say a few things about Christ the King.  It is not only a beautiful church and Atlanta landmark but the staff are consummate professionals.  I have shot at Christ the King several times and this particular wedding coordinator was outstanding!  She ran everything so smoothly with precision and ease.
Once we were through at the church we went to Naylor Hall.  We were greeted by one of my favorite people in the world, Abbey.  She made sure everyone was taken care of and that Naylor Hall was the perfect setting for a  welcoming reception for the bride and groom’s guests.
Once the guests started to arrive Katherine and Forrest were tucked away so no one would see them.  The guests went to the side of the front porch at Naylor where they enjoyed cocktails and hors d'oeuvres. After about a few minutes or so the DJ announced the bridal party.  The groomsmen and bridesmaids came on to the porch then went down the steps.  Once that was done the bride and groom were announced and they shared their first dance on the porch in front of their guests.  You could feel the love in the air. They finished the dance and walked down the steps and enjoyed their guests in the front yard.  The weather was perfect.  The couple caught up with everyone then the party went inside for dinner.
Before the dinner was served though there was the father daughter dance and the son and mother dance.  Everyone applauded the families then enjoyed a wonderful dinner and band.  The band kept the crowd going until the exit where the remaining guest cheered on the couple and their new adventure as husband and wife.

Build Masterlist
I'll be updating this as the legacy progresses, but here are the excellent builds I've used in-game so far! The farm I built myself but everything else is by these lovely creators:
Seaside Starter by @aheathen-conceivably serves as the Fenton home at the start of the game.
Old Stone Catholic Church by Emmengard (altered by me!) serves as the church where Bea and Josef get married.
H. Licht Fine Photography by @antiquatedplumbobs is the studio where Bea and Josef had their wedding portrait taken.
Old Mill Pond, also by antiquatedplumbobs, is used in a forthcoming scene, as are her Wharf and Co. General Store, Old Brindleton Farm, and Frontier Cabin builds.
That's it for non-EA builds/not my builds for now! I'll update as the story progresses!

Growing up in Scottsdale, Arizona should have and would have been a peaceful life if it hadn't been for Alejandra and Mariana’s parents' chaotic and sometimes toxic relationship. The Solano’s had emigrated from Monterrey, Mexico in their early twenties with the hopes of making it big in The Land of Opportunities but had subsequently fallen short in every possible way. They’d gotten in their own way with their mutual obsession for one another leading to too many squabbles and jealousies that had stolen them from progression. Stuck in their ways, then having not one but eventually two daughters left them little time for education and programs that would give them the leg up that they’d needed. Instead they were each stuck working multiple jobs to support a small family.
Although Scottsdale was a relatively large city it had always felt stuffy, perhaps even a little close minded for the youngest Solano. Alejandra was adventurous and took the freedoms being born first generation American had offered her. The first time she looked at other girls in a way the Catholic upbringing and most of Scottsdale wouldn’t really approve of, Ale learned a hard lesson about being herself and staying true to that. But also that ideals didn’t often equate to how society operated. So, as a teenager her struggles with who she was and how she was expected to be had put drugs in her system as a means to cope. She’d take off with her older sister, Mariana, and friends to Las Vegas where they’d party and get up to no good. Like plenty of teenagers just trying to figure life out.
It was the love affair with another girl that eventually sent Alejandra running from her hometown and to the much more liberal Southern California. Nothing hurt more than finding love for the first time but also being forced to keep it a secret and act as though the one you love was only just a friend in the gaze of others. The move and rush away from Arizona was also in pursuit of a dream. Since Ale was little she’d been drawn to photography and took every class she could that public schools offered and even entered competitions, sometimes even winning a few local ones. At 18, the nighttime gig of working as a stripper afforded Ale to attend film school so that she was able to learn filmography on top of the work she’d done to become a professional photographer. The dream was to do both, to be behind the camera in movies and television while also featuring on the glossy pages of important print. If she could have her photos framed on walls of galleries or people’s homes then she would believe she’d made it.
Life as a young adult in Los Angeles was wild. It was thrilling and heartbreaking. Mostly, it was everything Ale needed because not only did she get to soar and find her dream in a career but the mistakes along the way taught her a lot. No matter how many times she got burned by love it only seemed to free the young woman further. After film school Ale was able to pick up work on a few shows meant for the silver screen or streaming. Her career as a professional photographer filled out a beautiful portfolio and both were abled her to step away from her nighttime dancing gig. One of her favorite things to shoot were weddings, not only because of the money she was able to make but being a part of them even as a background piece gave Ale hope that she’d one day be that happy in-love.
As it normally went, when life was going too good and the high was at its biggest peak, that was when the most dramatic drop took place. Just over eighteen months ago, Mariana seemed to disappear. Texts and calls went unanswered and unreturned, not just for hours or days, which was unusual for the sisters, but for weeks. When it continued on for months, Ale really began to dive into the whereabouts of her sister and became determined to find her and figure out what went wrong. The last location that Ale had been aware of Mari being was Providence Peak, Colorado, so she packed up her life and made the move after dropping everything in Southern California. Most of her initial search and poking around town led to nothing, no answers, but something eerie was in its place. The realization that she would be in town for some time, at least until she was pointed in another direction, Ale found herself an apartment downtown. She found a wedding planner with a brilliant booming business and took on a job as a wedding photographer. In the year that followed, she’d grown closer to her boss and made some connections through town but hadn’t gotten anywhere near a resolution when it came to Mariana Solano.

"I wanted to talk briefly about my family not coming to the wedding. I think many people see our engagement photos and how happy we are, and we truly are. Still, it was hard for me at the very beginning not to be tainted by my family not being supportive of our relationship.
I grew up very Catholic, and coming out was challenging, to say the least. As much as I thought I wouldn't care that my family won't be coming, it has definitely been in my mind as of late. I try to tell myself that this will be the happiest day of my life and that they are missing out on this experience. I'm marrying the love of my life, and no one will make me feel like that is wrong, not even my family.
I just want any queer people getting married to know that as long as you're happy, that is all that matters at the end of the day and that those unsupportive people are missing out. If they can't be happy for you on the happiest day of your life, then you don't need them in your life."
This wild beach elopement between Emily & Jessica has just hit the blog, including a little note from Emily about how she's feeling navigating wedding planning with an unsupportive family.

II.1, II.7, III.11
II.1 What did they do (as a career or in general) before they were Embraced?
They had various jobs after dropping out of college. Freelance photographer, freelance journalist, retail clerk (Blockbuster, waiter etc) anything that could keep them afloat and able to rent a really shitty apartment without the help of his family who've cut him out. Probably also did some wedding photography for real cheap. They pride themselves on their photos so anything they could get that let them practice their craft.
II.7 Did they follow any religion or spiritual paths in life? How did that change when they died, if at all?
They grew up Catholic, but never really got super into it. At this point Russ probably believes in God a bit more but doesn't really wanna think about the implications and how it pertains to whatever comes next. Mostly he's curious if the Eucharist would super kill him or if before super killing him he'd at least go down a hunger pip and the dumb thought experiment of what blood resonance Jesus would be...
III.11 How do they feel about Diablerie? I don't think he really understands why it's so taboo. He's context clue'd his way to understanding its a no no but nobody has really given him an absolute explanation of why its super naughty. I think he mostly thinks that tower folks and people in charge make it taboo because it scares them that younger could "fake" a promotion (he doesn't really understand or know about the soul bit). I think he's also a bit perplexed by the sorta hypocritical notions of drinking from other vamps. He's the sorta type to be like its bad to kill anyone but like if your gonna do it why should it matter if its Kine or Kindred and why not drink two birds with one stone. He's very young. (:

Capturing Timeless Moments- The Essence of Sicily Through Wedding Photography
In the heart of the Mediterranean lies a jewel of unparalleled beauty and history – Sicily. With its sun-kissed landscapes, ancient architecture, and vibrant culture, Sicily serves as an idyllic backdrop for couples seeking a destination wedding imbued with romance and tradition. And amidst this enchanting setting, a skilled wedding photographer becomes a storyteller, weaving together the intricate threads of love, heritage, and celebration into timeless images that will be cherished for generations to come.
As a Sicily wedding photographer, I am privileged to witness and document some of life's most precious moments against the stunning backdrop of this island paradise. Each wedding is a unique tapestry of emotions, from the nervous excitement of the bride getting ready in a quaint Sicilian villa to the joyous celebration of the newlyweds dancing under the stars to traditional Sicilian music.
One of the most enchanting aspects of photographing weddings in Sicily is the rich tapestry of culture that permeates every aspect of the celebration. From the solemn rituals of a Catholic ceremony in a centuries-old church to the lively procession through cobbled streets accompanied by folk music and confetti, Sicilian weddings are steeped in tradition and symbolism. As a photographer, I strive to capture not just the moments, but the essence of Sicilian culture that infuses each wedding with its unique charm.
The natural beauty of Sicily provides an exquisite canvas for wedding photography. From the rugged cliffs of the coastline to the rolling hills dotted with vineyards and citrus groves, every corner of the island offers a picturesque backdrop for couples to exchange vows and create memories that will last a lifetime. Whether it's a sunset ceremony overlooking the azure waters of the Mediterranean or a reception in a historic palazzo surrounded by fragrant orange blossoms, Sicily never fails to captivate with its timeless allure.
But beyond the stunning landscapes and centuries-old architecture, what truly sets Sicilian weddings apart is the warmth and hospitality of its people. From the moment couples arrive on the island, they are welcomed with open arms and treated like family. Whether it's sharing a traditional Sicilian meal with locals or receiving heartfelt blessings from passersby as they stroll through quaint villages, couples are embraced by the genuine warmth and hospitality that define Sicilian culture.
As a Sicily wedding photographer, my goal is not just to capture beautiful images, but to tell the story of each couple's love affair with this magical island. Through my lens, I seek to preserve not just the moments, but the emotions, the traditions, and the essence of Sicily that make each wedding a truly unforgettable experience. Because in the end, it's not just about the photographs – it's about the memories that will be cherished for a lifetime, and the legacy that will endure for generations to come.

Anne Boleyn: The Queen Who Changed England Forever. Anne Boleyn: The Queen Who Changed England Forever. Anne Boleyn, King Henry VIII's infamous second wife, stands out in English history for her central role in the English Reformation and her tumultuous marriage to the king. Born to Thomas Boleyn and Elizabeth Howard between 1501 and 1507, Anne's early exposure to the French court shaped her into a charismatic and cultured figure, eventually capturing Henry VIII's attention. Her refusal to be his mistress set off a chain of events leading to England's break from the Catholic Church, allowing Henry to marry her in 1533. As queen, Anne's tenure was fraught with political and religious upheaval. Her support for the Reformation and Protestant reformers underscored her reign, though her failure to produce a male heir disappointed the king and weakened her position. By 1536, Henry's affections had shifted to Jane Seymour, leading to Anne's arrest on likely fabricated charges of adultery, incest, and treason. Her subsequent execution in the Tower of London marked a tragic end to her life. Anne's legacy is complex; she is seen by some as a victim of Henry's ruthlessness and by others as a manipulative figure. However, her most enduring contribution to history is her daughter, Elizabeth I, one of England's greatest rulers, who cemented the Protestant faith in the country. Anne Boleyn's life story, emblematic of the volatile nature of Tudor politics, continues to fascinate, inspiring countless works of biography, fiction, and dramatization. #AnneBoleyn, #Tudors, #HenryVIII, #EnglishHistory, #History, #RoyalHistory, #BritishHistory, #Reformation, #EnglishReformation, #QueenAnne, #SecondWife, #ElizabethI, #TowerOfLondon, #Beheaded, #FalseCharges, #PoliticalIntrigue, #ReligiousReformer, #HistoryDocumentary, #HistoricalDrama, #Biography, #HistoricalFiction, #TudorFashion, #WomenInHistory , #lovestory, #love, #lovequotes, #loveyou, #loveislove, #couplegoals, #instagram, #wedding, #loveyourself, #instagood, #couple, #follow, #like, #lovers, #photography, #lover, #likeforlikes, #romance, #couples, #romantic, #quotes, #life, #followforfollowback, #trending, #beautiful, #truelove, #relationshipgoals, #weddingphotography, #loveforever, #poetry, #music, #cute, #instalove, #bride, #happy, #photooftheday, #lovelife, #lovestatus, #weddingday, #likes, #lovesongs, #status, #story, #lovely, #mylove, #art, #kiss, #explore, #india, #instadaily, #viral, #sad, #weddinginspiration, #photo, #fashion, #explorepage, #bookstagram, #video, #iloveyou, #weddingphotographer

In America Tolerance of World Views Must Go Both Ways
Tumblr media
The following is the AP headline describing the June 30th Supreme Court ruling concerning the web designer: “The supreme court rules for a designer who doesn’t want to make wedding websites for gay couples“ Does anyone else see how biased and opinionated this headline is? The editors make it sound as if her personal opinion is the cause. And they strongly infer that it is a kind of prejudice. However, the headline actually reveals the bias of the authors and how much they do not understand us.
This is not a question of an individual’s personal likes or dislikes; this has to do with fundamental world beliefs built on scripture that shape lives and it is ad odds with the state trying to coerce speech. Ms Smith has said she has no problem serving the gay community in various ways as a designer, but she cannot create art which supports claims fundamentally at odds with her world view--i.e. celebrating the union of two people of the same gender in what the state calls “a marriage” when her faith says that marriage is the union of only a man and a woman. Her belief that homosexuality is not the will of God is not a fringe position.  Not only has it been held for thousands of years by most cultures and faiths in the world, today it is still held as true by the Catholic Church, Greek Orthodox, Muslims, Orthodox Jews, and many Protestant Christian denominations.   The secular state, via a different supreme court, has declared otherwise.  Whom should a person of good faith follow?
Should her art be forced to celebrate something counter to her core beliefs? No.  An artist should not be forced to shape his or her work to fit the parameters of the culture around her.   A work of art cannot be shaped by some cultural assumption of acceptability.  Art is covered by the fundamental right of free speech.
Liberals for years told society this truth when flags were used as a means to protest or images of Christ were immersed in urine.    Many were deeply offended but the courts sided with the artist. And they were right to do so here.
Some may doubt that web design is not a work of art.  But artwork in photography and sculpture in design have all been accepted for a long time. Meanwhile others may think Ms Smith should not be making money from her art is controversial.  However "The laborer is worth his hire" (1 Tim 5:18).  Art and money are connected.  Knowing what I do about how Dickens made money with his art, or Mark Twain, both of whom did not fit into what their culture claimed was acceptable, there is no reason to seek her end of business.
If activists come after her, as they did with the baker, I will not be surprised. She may indeed lose income but that is her choice and she should not be hounded because others don't like her beliefs. Tolerance goes both ways,
I side with the artist. Some talk about some slippery slope in which various religious orders have rules not shared by culture.  But our culture has always been able to move to accommodate.  A shop is closed on the Hebrew sabbath, goes elsewhere.  A Muslim restaurant does not serve pork, eat somewhere else or try the lamb.  if you don’t like the fundamental artistic principles of a particular artist. or craft-person, go find another to make your celebratory web design: go find another baker to bake your cake   There are plenty of others. Be what liberals were supposed to be, tolerant.
