Catalina turns to face him, her eyes lifting up to dance across his features. Sometimes she wonders if it's possible to love a person this much, to solely give your heart to someone and not expect a single thing in return despite the wants, the dreams that scream so loud it can be suffocating. She reaches up and adjusts the collar of his dress coat. "It should be illegal how hot you look tonight, babe."

@sercndipityx CAT
IT WASN’T UNCOMMON to find Julien loitering around the compound on occasion, but since the murders he had started to spend much more time there. His city was clearly under attack and while his men had a clear plan of how to keep a keen eye on the streets, Julien made sure he was available to Aesir at any given second. After all, Julien knew just how quickly the tide could turn in London and a fight could be on their hands at any second.
He was making his way back to the room Aesir had made up for him when a particular scent caught his attention, causing him to turn into the courtyard just in time to bump into Cat. “Ah my beautiful Kitty Cat,” Julien smirked, remembering how she had warned him not to call her that. “Have you come to purr on my lap again?” he teased, knowing a cheeky smile settled confidently upon his cheeks.

El Pueblo Panaderia → @catalinaxdeleon
Ethan wasn’t sure what he was expecting.
He’d calculated this risk--he was good at that, generally speaking--rationalized what he was supposed to say and all the variable responses Catalina might have, the betrayal that he’d entrenched her within clouding her judgment, undeniably. But he knew he wasn’t the only one--couldn’t be the only one--to hold that particular night with reverie, to cherish it even now, even when it drove his life to ruin. He knew there had to have been something there. A substantial enough weight behind what they’d done that it could, potentially, carry them to now. It had, after all, carried him here, to the De Leon’s beloved bakery, where he knew he would find her. Where he knew he could see her, could finally speak to her, could make amends and fix what he’d broken by leaving.
He slipped off his sunglasses and threw them on the passenger seat, taking a hard look at himself in the rearview mirror; he was older, now, undoubtedly--his eyes had dulled, besotted on either side now with a series of lines. He looked tired. He looked, frankly, desperate. And maybe, if he was being honest with himself, he was.
Heaving open the door of his car, he got out and crossed the parking lot to the bakery, pulling open the door, a faint smile tickling the corner of his lips as the familiar bells chimed at his arrival. With nobody immediately emerging from behind the counter, he took a look around, feeling, oddly, at home. And then he heard her.
Spinning quickly to face her, Ethan, in spite of himself, smiled. The first genuine smile he’d managed to muster in weeks. “Cat.” he said softly, almost pleadingly. “It’s so good to see you.”

El Pueblo Panaderia → @catalinaxdeleon
With her workload sufficiently managed for the weekend (unless she got sent back some last minute edits, which she could never discount as a possibility), Annie ventured out to run some errands, heading to the co-op to get her groceries for the week before an obligatory stop at the bakery. It served two purposes, really--she got the benefit of treats, of course, but she also got to see Cat, whom she’d grown fond of since becoming somewhat of a regular at the place. The woman was effortlessly kind and welcoming, and made a genuine effort to get to know all of her customers, which Annie absolutely loved. Holding the door open for a man departing the business, Annie gave him a polite nod before she entered the bakery herself, smiling brightly at Catalina as the woman stood behind the counter.
“I officially cannot stay away,” Annie admitted, grinning. “If I don’t see you on Saturday mornings now it’s like--my whole week is off, you know? The baked goods are a neat bonus, though, too.”

CAT
The news of the sudden string of deaths across the city hadn’t fallen on deaf ears, but Zoya had just wished she could’ve had just one normal day with her friends before everything descended in chaos. “C’mon Cat,” the witch moaned as she fiddled with pots and pans in the kitchen. “Can’t we just shut all the doors and windows and pretend like my first day back isn’t a disaster? Can’t we go back to you doing all the cooking and me pretending like I’m following what’s going on?” Zoya pleaded.

Julien had only been at the compound one night and he was already eager and itching to visit his gambling dens to visit a few old friendly faces. He had a tight ring of loyal vampires who worked under his name in London who kept all of his things in order while he was away, but it had been decades since he had last been in the city. He was getting dressed after his shower in Evelyn’s room, because... Well, she had the best shower in the compound. A heartbeat not too far away caught his attention, and it was slowly growing louder. He darted over to the door and pulled it open just as the person on the other side was reaching for the door handle. Julien glanced down with a smirk - he hadn’t quite had chance to grab a shirt. “Are you lost?” he wondered, knowing that it was uncommon for someone with a heartbeat to be freely roaming around the compound. @sercndipityx

The compound had been busy since Aesir’s return, which wasn’t surprising at all since it seemed vampires seemed to gravitate towards the man and his dominance over the city. Although Julien could hear a heartbeat like a pin dropping to the floor, and he quickly stepped in front of the witch he had only met once before. “Back again so soon?” he smirked as he looked down at Catalina. “I’m afraid Evelyn is... Preoccupied.” Julien smiled sickly-sweet. “However I do have a rather expensive bottle of whiskey in my room that I have opened just waiting to be drank.” he offered, his arm reaching outwards to point in the direction of the room they had offered him there. @sercndipityx

After having slept almost an entire day since the fight, Zoya now found herself tossing and turning, her sleep pattern all flipped upside now. She threw back the covers of her bed and padded down the hallway, hoping some tea would help, but as she approached Cat’s door she saw that it was still open. She stepped up to the doorway, poking her head inside just a little. “Hey-” Zoya spoke softly, offering Cat a gentle smile. “Do you mind if I come in? I couldn’t sleep and could use someone to talk to.” she really didn’t think Cat would turn her away, but Zoya’s parents had at least taught her manners and when to use them. @sercndipityx

Catalina beams. Absolute happiness radiates on her features because his eyes on her fills her with butterflies, sunshine and even fucking rainbows. Sometimes it feels too good to be true especially after everything she's learned about love. "You are too sweet, J." She murmurs as she places her hand on the side of his neck, her fingertips resting against the back of it as she shifts closer to him to place a kiss on his lips. "Some champagne does sound good," she murmurs, moving to kiss his cheek. "Doesn't it?"
@stigmvtas
At just the feeling of her gaze upon him - Joaquin's lips lift into a smile, wide and unconstrained as he looks down at his fiancée, fingers reaching to brush back strands of hair from her face - tucking them beneath her ear. "I'm nothing compared to you, mi amor - you light up this entire room." His entire life - his light at the end of the tunnel; an ending to his old life - to his old self. "Would you like a drink?"

Catalina pouts slightly, glancing down to her shoe. "Is it really? Fuck," she breathes as she raises her gaze back up to him. "Do you offer to carry around every woman whose shoe strap decides to give out on her?"
@eclvpses
"Okay, good, 'cause your strap is totally fucked. Now what? I could carry you around all night but I'm not as young and strapping as I look. Or, like, strong. Though you're probably, what? 20 pounds soaking wet? Maybe I got this - new challenge for myself."

catalinaxdeleon:
Catalina lifted her eyes up from the pink box she was currently folding together, a smile coming along her features when she noticed that it was Annie standing in front of her. “Hey,” she chuckled as she opened the little pink box. “Are you picking up your regular or are you going to spice it up on me this week?” She teased as she put her hands down on the counter. “I know not seeing you on Saturdays throws off my week too.” She chuckled as she let her eyes move to look at Annie. “I did bake something new today… You want to be the first person to try it? It’d be free, of course.”
-
“Something new?!” Annie’s eyebrows raised, her eyes widening with excitement as if she were a child presented with an undeniably decadent confection. “It will absolutely not be free because I will be paying you for it, but yes, I would love to try something new,” she assured the woman emphatically. “Otherwise I’m probably sticking with the usual. Most of it goes to my boyfriend’s anyway for the house to pick at. Well, like...seventy percent of it. The other thirty percent I generally eat alone by the light of my laptop while I’m working,” Annie admitted with a slightly abashed grin. “But anyway--how are you? What’s been going on with you?”
