Lena losing her patience and furiously berating Gwen for potentially endangering the staff members of the OAIR is quite literally the opposite of how Elias ran the Archives.

Elias used the Archival staff—as well as his Archivist—as pawns that can be readily replaced as needed. His patron offered them minimal protections at best (the Archivist’s privileges notwithstanding), and even then, he would never actually intervene to save any of them if they were in danger, much less take precautions to protect them at their headquarters. They are used as bait, as sacrifices, as currency, as objects. The listener knows, eventually, how easily he could discard them if his plans called for it.

But Lena. This episode showed us that Lena keeps her entire organization running through keeping her subordinates hidden, safe, and unnoticed by the Externals. It’s quite clear through her conversation with Gwen that such a safety risk has never happened before.

As far as we know, Lena has successfully kept all of her employees alive, watched them come and go, bemoaned the turnover rate, and then got them to look the other way while they documented and dutifully filed the horrors.

But most impressive of all, she’s kept her real work hidden from her subordinates, and her subordinates hidden from her real work—a feat Elias had no interest or desire to accomplish.

You know what... imagine being a servant at the Red Keep. There are places you just don't go because there's a creepy feeling about that part of the castle.

That great black tom cat who haunts the corridors and yards scratches anyone in Lannister gold and red, so when you feed him scraps you remove any tabards with those colours.

Most of the kitchen staff adore him, he lets you pet his belly if you feed him long enough.

You're fairly certain there's ghosts in the keep.

Maegor's Holdfast is the worst.

You hear the sound of children's laughter in the distance. One maid swears she saw a pair of silver haired children, a boy and a girl, running through the corridors. Sometimes you find the old tom under a particular bed and you swear you hear a little voice shush you.

There's a part of the training yard you hear the sound of a child crying as he's being beaten.

Some of the servants leave toys and offerings for the young ghosts. The sacrificial children of the dragon kings.

You hope they find their peace.

the idea of the Institute being an extension of Jonah’s body is driving me feral lately. and there’s textual support for it! in episode 92 he says “Should I, or the Institute, be destroyed, you will all, unfortunately, follow suit.” as if he and his Institute are equivalent. and when Martin’s burning statements, he says to Elias, “Maybe I just thought it might hurt.” the idea that Jonah felt something inside him catch fire as soon as Martin started burning statements, hdjfhsjgskdhdg. do you think it feels good when people run their hands along the walls. do you think it feels good when someone does a deep clean of the rooms.

I colored Gerry that way because i imagine he'd be one of those black cats whos fur starts turning redish, because of malnurishment. It fits with the whole "poorly dyed black hair" thing, while being probably accurate to his living situation.
