as someone who has grown up in a muslim country (but is not muslim myself) i have always felt sad by the lack of modest clothing options this game has. not everyone wants to wear 987 different crop tops out (though of course, they have the option to!) i really hope this can add more diversity and representation to my own game, and others' 🥰

Top Ten Least Bad Outfits in TNG

I'm gonna be honest and say that the non-uniform outfits in TNG are not my favorite costume design in the world, but there are some looks that stick with me:

10. That Girl Who Kissed Data That One Time's Outfit:

I can never decide if I like this look or I think it's ugly, but I love the pants and tall boots combo. Her blouse is bad and the bouclé jacket is both too heavy and too fussy for this outfit, but I love the belt and suspenders combo, and the chevron embossing on the suspenders. This costume and all the others except #9 is a Robert Blackman design.

9. This Jumpsuit On That Girl From "The Dauphin":

This is the only William Ware Theiss design on this list. I love his TOS stuff but most of his TNG designs leave me cold 🤷‍♀️. But I love this is extremely 80s jumpsuit. Love the pretty drape, love the ruching on the sleeves, love the harem pants silhouette. Only note is that the whole bodice should be a structured corset bodice instead of the kind of odd structured panel it has now.

8. Picard's Shorty Pyjama Set:

TNG is absolutely full of the strangest pyjama choices you can imagine and Picard is no exception but I love this bold look. Would kill for this pyjama set. He also takes a work zoom wearing this one time which is insane.

7. Data's 1890's Looks But Specifically This One With The Shirtsleeves And The Blue Shirt:

The best part of "Time's Arrow" is that Data isn't a fish out of water in the 1890s, he's absolutely killing it, and I love that the only real Casual Data look we get is this one. I prefer the blue shirt to the pink because Data should really wear more blue, it's a nice contrast with yellow. Please also note his emerald watch fob, which was 0% necessary to blend in, he's just having fun with it.

6. 12 Year Old Keiko's Linen Overalls:

The paperbag waist! The bow! The little bows at the shirt cuffs! I can understand why she replicated a miniature copy of this outfit.

5. Beverly and Guinan's Dixon Hill Holodeck Costumes:

I'm counting these as one because they're essentially the same design in different color pallets but what color paletts! Bev is pulling off the very difficult pink+red+red hair and the mint green on Guinan is 🤌. I particularly love how Guinan's hat is so 1940s yet also echos the silhouette of her usual costume.

4. Deanna's Teal Dress:

Like all of you I prefer Deanna in the uniform, but this dress slays, ok? The space age asymmetrical neckline. The drop waist. The structured bodice. The slit almost all the way to the hip. And of course the matching tights and shoes CANNOT BE BEATEN. Also one time I saw a dude on a Star Trek forum call this a "ballgown" which baffles me to this day, this is clearly a slightly fancy day dress.

3. Picard's 1890s Look:

You'd think Picard would go full posh in the 1890s but instead he gives us this working-class Shakespearean director look and he 👏 looks 👏 incredible 👏. Way to mix textures, Jean-Luc.

2. Lore's Turtleneck and Giant Vest:

You and I know that Lore stole these clothes from the Pakleds because we pay a lot of attention to Star Trek costumes, but to a normal viewer Lore shows up and this is just his outfit!! It's giving, like, space-age goblincore and it's incredible. I want wear this oufit every day. I want to make a little doll Lore wearing this outfit to express my love for it. It's only not #1 because the pants are too orange and a strange weave.

Deanna's Ancient West Holodeck Outfit:

Deanna!!! The pants! The hat! The calico! She looks 10/10 hot in this outfit. For sure the superior version of this is before she gives her neckerchief to Worf (it really benefits from that cool highlight) but either way this is the best anyone's ever looked on that holodeck.

“what the fuck is your problem?”

“no need to get all sensitive babe” paige scoffed. y/n disliking on paige grew more.

the team got back to the parking lot, and bid their goodbyes. y/n was with kk and aubrey inside the car. “hey, you alright?” kk asked y/n. “oh yeah im okay” y/n replied. “we are sorry about paige, she isn’t like that. we’ll look more into this when we can.. just let us know if you’re okay or not y/n” aubrey apologized. “no need to aubrey, it’s fine” y/n thanked the two.

on another car, a similar conversation was going on. “what is on with you paige” azzi asked. “yeah, you are not like that” nika agreed. “it just feels weird when she is there” paige explained. nika and azzi sighed and started to give their own lectures to paige going back to the dorms.

everyone’s car arrived at the same time at the college parking lot, and the team bid their goodbyes.

after a long saturday, y/n was glad that it was sunday, she could have her own time by herself. she first got up out of her bed, and put on casual clothes.

she got out of her dorm, and headed for the nearest cafeteria for a good breakfast meal. she was eating her meal, enjoying, until a blonde figure walks by her. “well well well, its too early for an eye sore” paige said as she walked.

“bitch” y/n whispered, but not quiet enough for paige to not hear it. “nerd” paige snickered back. as if that’s supposed to be a negative comment? y/n thought. the two then continued on with their own activities.

their childish actions to each other didn’t stop, that was only the start of paige and y/n’s nonstop bickerings and “pranks” to each other. after a month, the two grew closer, specifically in the “dislike” aspect. the following are just some of the instances of when y/n and paige were messing around.

1. aubrey asks y/n to bring her basketball shoes to the court. aubrey forgot her shoes, and y/n brought it to her. the team said their hellos, and paige made a mean comment—obviously. “if it isn’t stanford girl, oh wait.. you didn’t get in right?” paige commented. “oh if it isn’t the number one star of wbb.. oh wait? you’re number 2!” y/n replied back.

2. during their study sessions for y/n’s research, y/n saw that paige was struggling with chemistry. “can’t believe student 3.9 gpa can’t do simple molarity problems..” y/n made fun of paige.

3. y/n brings gatorade for the team, but doesn’t give paige.

4. paige hide’s y/n’s wbb files, only to put it back in her bag after 30 minutes. paige just loves seeing y/n pissed.

5. “this is why you will never get a gf!” “you too!”

6. kk was non-formally interviewing the team for the media. when kk asked y/n who on the team would she not let her son/daughter date, y/n answered “paige,” and when kk asked paige who has the best music taste, paige answered “definitely not that researcher who’s always with the team..”

after their endless interactions, the whole team at that point didn’t know if both were friends or not. they all got pissed by it, but they just got used to it after awhile.

on a friday night, the team and y/n were given tickets by coach geno to a football game, he gave them their training session to watch something fun as a reward for their hardwork. geno had an extra ticket and gave it to y/n as she’s always around doing her research, and wanted to give her some time for a night out too.

everyone was estatic and thanked the man. the game starts at 7pm, and the time said 5pm, which gives them enough time to get ready for the game. with this, the members all agreed to wear something casual instead of just their basketball oufit. they headed back to their dorms to get ready.

when everyone was in the dorms, y/n has a small problem. she wanted to wear a shirt that says uconn.. but she doesn’t have any. she wanted to feel that “school spirit,” and a football game always brings out the fun school spirits of students.

she asked aubrey if she could borrow and luckily aubrey gave her a shirt. it was a navy blue shirt that simply said uconn at the front.

it was 6pm, just in time to go to the game venue. all the uconn players and y/n got out of their dorms and headed for the football field.

when they arrived, many people looked at the team’s way, some screaming different names. but y/n heard a statement wherein she felt curious as to why someone has said that.

“is paige bueckers dating someone? look at that girl in navy!”

she wondered why, but shrugged it off eventually when they got into the open field. they got to their seats. y/n was beside kk, ice, q, and aubrey, while the others are in the back.

the team members at the back looked at y/n and started to laugh, teasing paige. “are you guys really dating? was the enemy thing just a stunt?” curiousity is growing on nika.

paige ignored her teammates’ questions and comments, and decided to make fun of y/n.

“you know y/n, at this point i just think that you have a liking for me. if not then.. why is my name and jersey number at the back of your shirt?”

Treat #1 : The Aesthete

This treat is a 1880's Set inspired by the Aesthetic movement aka victorians cosplaying previous eras (mostly the Middle Ages) and simping for Oscar Wilde. More pics and download below

Thought these oufits are specifically suited for the 1880s, the Aesthetic or Artistic dress movement is somewhat of a victorian fashion subculture dating back to the 1860's.

The people participating in this fashion were part of the artistic sphere, so definitely not your typical victorian person and this style wasn't always well-regarded by the rest of society. The Aesthetic dress movement never went mainstream and most of the dresses in that style were house dresses and tea gowns, giving them more casual and private uses. But this fashion nonetheless impacted trends of the following decades (trains, puffy sleeves, flowy silhouettes... ring's a bell ?).

This movement was strongly influenced by Pre-Raphaelite paintings (hence the medieval inspired elements) and linked to the Arts and Craft movement. For the women the dresses were usually plainer than what was typical of the time (not hard given how mainstream 1880s fashion went really trim crazy), potentially homemade, with less structured silhouettes (possibly worn without corsets).

The connection between the God and the Shrine Maiden. Theory of a connection between Gojo and Utahime.

Miko (巫女) is a woman who serves the Japanese gods. The story of Miko is said to be a descendant of Ame no Uzume when performing a dance to bring Amaterasu out of the cave to bring light to humanity.

The image of a chrysanthemum appearing before Utahime's eyes represents the Japanese emperor symbol. Amaterasu is said to be the ancestor of the Japanese emperors. The god of the sun, god of the universe. The name means "shining in heaven".

Theory about Satoru and Chrysanthemum. A seventeen-petal chrysanthemum, representing the emperor Go-Daigo (後醍醐天皇). 醍醐 (だいご) same reading with 大悟 (だいご) is also a Buddhist term synonymous with Satoru 悟 (さとる):  enlightenment. So the appearance of a Miko is always associated with the Gods. Specifically Utahime and Satoru.

Gojo has always been considered a symbol of god because he is the strongest and his image is associated with his goal of salvation as a living god serving humanity. Being honored is considered the image of a god being born that no one can touch.

Utahime's appearance is the only one associated with a miko of serving the Gods. Her role is to convey the oracles of the gods, serving them. Specifically purifying impurities, appeasing souls and granting mana to the gods.

Usually they are unmarried women because they are dedicated to the god, also known as the god's bride.

So the fact that Utahime always appears next to Gojo is said to be a connection to their roles. In chapter 223, Utahime uses her CT to support Gojo in battle, performing the Kagura ritual, using a sacred dance offered to the god to summon them to appear.

Utahime's CT first appearance to increase Gojo's CE is the reason for their appearance together. It is the beginning of the battle, that summon the god out of darkness and bringing light to humanity. They are connected to the relationship between god and miko.

If viewed from that perspective, Gege has linked Utahime and Gojo from the beginning when she appeared as a Miko. The same for her image in Hidden Inventory.

There is a common story that Miko are unmarried women, so if they get married and follow their husbands, it means they will quit being Miko. Usually Utahime only wears this oufit at work, but on her day off she wears casual clothes.

Headcanon: jjk ends without the curse and Gojo returns, he will become a normal person, she don't work in dangerous, they get married in world peace.

Father Knows Best Part 1

Why is Lestat almost always in full dress at home while Louis is in casual loungewear? There are multiple scenes especially in the second half of the season where it looks like Lestat just got home from work (even though he's a jobless Ken) while Louis has been lounging at home all day. Lestat does go out to hunt so its possible he feels the need to dress up although the full 3 piece suit is certainly not necessary but even when Louis is gaslit into hunting again he is still never seen in a full waistcoat and tie like Lestat. After episode 4, Louis is mostly seen in shirtsleeves, sweaters and loose blouses. The only times he wears a full suit and tie are when he meets Grace for the last time and when meeting with an authority like Tom.

But I think Lestat's choice to maintain his wardrobe even at home is about projecting authority and control more than practicality.. like he really doesn't need to be dressing up to kill victims but he is always without question dressed like the man of the house, even when playing chess in the living room. The patriach cannot uphold his authority unless he dresses the part.

Looking at his oufits progression during his 6 years of begging, he first ventures to the house in full suit and tie but is soundly rejected by Louis. Then he appears on the street in casual sports wear appearing to be conversing with Louis and Claudia on a more equal basis but he is once again rebuffed but this time by Claudia while Louis stays silent. When he makes his final case to be let back in the house, he is dressed more casually than we've ever seen him before as a gesture to Louis and Claudia that he's willing to be on a level with them... except not really, cause the minute he's let back in, he's immediately back to dressing like father knows best. You do not question the authority of a man dressed like that even when he pretends to go along with the new paradigm of the "lambs herding the beauceron" but we all know that's a lie that he never intended to honor and what gives it away from the start is the moment he comes home from "killing" Antoinette seemingly obeying the rules dressed like THIS.

This a Beauceron and his little lambs are the ones dressed in soft pjs. He is herding them no matter what "rules" they agree to in that house.
