Mika's Prompts: Gem

The next one for @mikaharuka's prompts was GEM.

“What is it, my love?” she breathed.

“I am just thinking, you have the most wonderful eyes,” Striga whispered, putting one hand onto Morana’s cheek.

One would not expect it, given the way Striga looked. She looked like a wild woman. And like a warrior. She was big and she was strong. Her body was covered in scars from her human life, that by now lay almost a century behind her. And yet, even though she was all of that, she was so soft, so gentle. Her eyes had the warmest expression Morana had ever seen in a vampire.

They were cold. All of them were. It was what made them. What defined them in human eyes. But she wasn’t. Striga wasn’t. Not always.

Turning her head, Morana smiled “My eyes?”

“Yes,” Striga replied. She skuttled a bit closer, putting that strong arm around Morana. “They are like gems. Like beautiful pure sapphires. And I could look at them forever.”
