Good fucking food and good chapter as per usual. Thank you for showing me my snake wife (Satan) again. Loved every page, and I hope Fukayama-sensei is taking his time recuperating from his surgery and doesn't push himself too much.

I say this because those pages were out of this world. I love the spookiness factor they're finally adding. A lot of exorcist manga just focus on the action and completely forget they're dealing with demons (and other creatures of similar nature) so I'm glad Aruma added that in. Belphegor's pathetic poltergeists(?) are really funny, too lol.

Babacat confirmed!! Troperrific called it! I had my money on Cattan instead, lol. Regardless, this basically means she's been spying on Priest since the very beginning, so there's a high chance she'll try to talk-no-jutsu him into corruption(?) using what she knows about him. What Vergilius couldn't convince him to do, she'll probably (almost) succeed? If that's her goal, anyway...

Surprise! Chicken legs, as per her folklore of having a chicken leg-powered house. Nice to see that Aruma-sensei has some basic knowledge on her. As usual, they do look into things. Which makes me happy. I thought the chicken was kinda cute until her disemboweled headless corpse waddled in. Jesus.

Apparently, disembowelment and beheading are the punishments given to schismatics in the Ninth Bolgia in Dante's Inferno. Yeowch. Perhaps this is her punishment because she wanted to help wrongly convicted souls while not inherently being a non-believer and merely disagreeing? I don't know.

I'd also like to mention that Mikhail is probably going to gain a more prominent role when it comes to Baba Yaga. He was the first to recognize it was Baba Yaga, and I think this is because he's more familiar with Slavic folklore than the rest of the cast. After all, Mikhail is a name of Russian origin, so he's probably from around there. He probably got told stories of her as a child.

(I used to affectionately dub Mikhail "Florida man" because of his crazy antics, but he also does fit those crazy Slav dudes that post videos of themselves randomly bringing down abandoned buildings with only bricks. Anyway.)

Really hilarious that Priest can somehow tolerate the horror fuckery that happened this chapter but can't handle horror MOVIES or Japanese spirits. My MC is truly built different and I love him dearly. Someone get him a good therapist and multiple trips to a bunny café.

Imuri's face didn't show up even once in this chapter, by the way! Probably means nothing, but it'd be curious if her reactions were obscured because she was familiar with Granny somehow. Imuri's lived quite a long while, too, after all. Wouldn't be weird if she knew some people here and there.

(Might I add that we've yet to see the mysterious Cass friend she texts... He said he hesitantly submitted a request to see her to the Church, but it's been a while since that...)

This line alone is either a red flag or a green flag, but I'm hopeful it's actually a green flag, since it goes against Satan's wishes. Maybe Baba Yaga will actually sympathize with Priest, since she's been watching over him... dunno!

Additionally, this is also something I mentioned on my Twitter, but to me, it appears that she's being set up as another parallel character to Priest:

Both are the strongest of their team

Got called "it" and "thing" by their respective benefactors

Both want(ed) to help people

Witnessed or witnessing wrongful accusations against the innocent

Priest even sympathized /explicitly/ with people who were wrongly tried for supposed witchcraft in chapter 64. Surely she must've heard him say that? I previously thought Vergilius would take on the role of the parallel, but I think Granny is a more deliberate one!

Welcome back Tachibana my beloved boss girl, in the most literal sense. She even has a big ass coat on. Is she single? We should ask Aruma-sensei. Please do a Q&A, I pinky promise to be civil.

Anyway, I'm convinced Mammon is coming back too, then, since she is extremely capable. Mammon's (first) arc was definitely rushed due to the looming danger of the axe, so I'm excited to see him being pathetic again. He's grown on me, for the wrong reasons. I think he's a big fan favorite amongst the JP sphere as well. He's the only Demon Lord that I feel truly values his human connections, so that's no surprise.

All in all, it was a perfect chapter, and I have nothing to say about the Japanese and/or translation of the chapter; I have but one single complaint:

I was thinking today a bit about the intertextuality of some of the stories I've been reading. And, one thread here is about agency.

Like, the agency of the protagonist is a core theme in each. Flip Flappers is open facedly about Cocona's taking control of her life path, choosing her future and to adventure and to not let her mother make decisions for her, even if it keeps her safe.

Abyss Surrounds Us makes Cass a prisoner, a slave, someone with no way to fight back or decide her fate, and then asks her to decide what's worth spending her little bits of agency on - the safety of her home life or the protection of the pirate girl trapped in a cycle of poverty.

And while it's not as much of a central theme, Fabiniku's Tachibana does not have the same agency of those around her. She is physically weak, and her only strength, her beauty, also makes her vulnerable. In the first arc, Tachibana has to be rescued when her active choices lead to her being made a weapon. That's done by Jinguuji showing his feelings. In the second arc, Tachibana reveals hers to protect him. Not out of need, not as a passive agent, but as an active participant in a fight.

If the archetype of the female character is princess, is the woman in the tower to be rescued and the prize to be won at the end of the quest... then it's about narrative agency, right? The platonic ideal of a woman isn't given agency, that's relinquished to the men in her life. So it's interesting how railing against that, how finding strength in weakness and options in captivity serves as this central pillar of stories about queer women.

I'm in the middle of the climax of 3 different stories across different mediums and forcing myself to wait and switch between them for time's sake is killing me lol

Tokyo Revengers episode 1

Après avoir été poussé par Twitter et Tiktok à commencer le manga Tokyo Revengers j’ai décidé que j’allais commencer l’anime, j’ai déjà assez de choses à lire comme ça (quoique j’ai déjà aussi assez de choses à regarder..). 

Ma première impression du premier épisode : encore un shonen qui apporte rien au genre ... encore un traitement des personnages féminins qui va être d’un ennui, Tachibana dans le rôle de la demoiselle en détresse, on est fatigué, le protagoniste se définit lui-même comme un loser puceau et obtient la possibilité de changer le cours de son destin et de sauver celle qu’il aime grâce au voyage dans le temps. J’ai eu des vibes de Gantz qui m’ont pourtant beaucoup plu au début, mais je sens que je vais m’ennuyer, j’attends le reste évidemment pour juger mais je suis arrivée à un stade où ce que je recherche dans un shonen c’est qu’il casse les codes de base tout en suivant le nekketsu évidemment, c’est ce qui pour moi fait un bon shonen.

Tonton va me traiter de FOU !! Allez pense Mayte, je peux te montrer le téléphone vu qu'il est très moderne pour cette fois, dois-je te montrer les manches ?Quelle merde de ne pouvoir consulter ça avec personne, il faut être courageux.

Je reprends mon souffle et vais chez lui, même si je ne savais pas où c'était car dans le manga il n'y a pas de carte d'où tout le monde vit, je penserai juste à sa maison et j'espère que ce monde m'y mènera.

Je marche dans les rues en regardant autour de moi, tout est si différent de mon pays, enfin j'arrive chez toi Ne serais-tu pas surpris que je sache où j'habite ? POURQUOI TOUT EST SI DIFFICILE !!!???

Bon je pense que ça devrait valoir le coup, le temps de sortir mon talent de parkour, je m'accroupis sur le toit qui donne sur sa fenêtre et je le mets près de la fenêtre, je mets mon numéro de téléphone pour qu'il puisse me contacter et une pierre pour que il ne s'envole pas.

Je saute par-dessus le mur et me cache pour pouvoir lui lancer des boules de papier avec la fronde, donc il y a moins de chance que je casse la fenêtre.

Anunciado el equipo y más reparto del Anime World of Super Sand Box: Being The Reality.

La serie saldrá al aire el 12 de enero. 

La web oficial del próximo Anime para televisión World of Super Sand Box: Being The Reality, se ha actualizado el sábado con su equipo de producción principal, más reparto e historia. El Anime se estrenará el 12 de enero del 2017 en televisión Japonesa. 

Riho Iida pondrá el tema musical de la serie. El Anime es una adaptación de un web cómic titulado Chouyuu Sekai (World of Super Sand Box) publicado en el sitio Chino de cómics Tencent.

Welcome to the Grid: "Super Sand Box" PV Moves Between Reality and the Game World

Another Chinese webcomic is following hot on the heels of Spiritpact into the world of anime adaptations. Coming next to your screens is World of Super Sand Box -Being the Reality-, an adaptation of the online manga Chao You Shijie.

Tencent Animation and Success Co. will be collaborating to bring the comic, about a high-schooler caught between reality and the world of video games, to the small screen. The comic has been running on Tencent's site since May of 2014, with 211 chapters currently available to read.

& sorry, I'm really still struggling to draw anything & everything at all, so this isn't my best plus, after I drew Cass' expression, I could not make the pose as cutesy or intimate as the original ref, because it looks too much like she's saying something like:

"Aw, hun, you might be a wackadoo, emotionless maniac, but you're MY wackadoo, emotionless maniac!~"

But, thanks much for the request! I'll probably draw a closer/more desperate sort of embrace between them later in nicer outfits to make up for this one, but for now I just need to get back on my feet & keep drawing if I want to get back to it, you know?? Anyhow, thanks for bearing with me, gang!!

So, here I go falling in love with yet another reiteration of Obacass, courtesy of @insanely-creative-things!~ I couldn't help myself, but I had to draw this take on Obake as Bonnie Aken, the flirtatious crimelord, meeting with Cass! & idk, but I think Cass might have a little crush on Bonnie... It's just too cuuuuute!!♡

I just truly and absolutely adore these two together! It seems like no matter what, my heart belongs to this pairing gahhhhhh!! But, truly, I love your design for fem!bake & her with Cass is so!! Darn!! CUTE!!! Thanks for giving me more fuel to my Obacass fire, bud!♡~
