HE DOESN'T KNOW HOW LONG IT'S BEEN. how long he's been trapped down there, beaten and tortured and mutilated. no windows, no visible passage of time other than the state of his own injuries. locked away until bradley decides that it's time to fuck with him some more. things only got worse when the twins got dragged into it, forced to watch the horrors unfold in front of him, forced to know that to some extent it was his fault that they were down there. it's been a while now, he's sure of that much. the twins came, his fingers got cut off... he doesn't remember much after that, but he knows it must have been a while. it feels like he's heard caspian screaming and crying for days, the sound of casper trying to break out of his room hard to miss. there is some sense of relief in that bradley had mostly stayed away from him since the twins came in, far more focused on fucking with his new victims, but that didn't mean tate was left ALONE. bradley's buddies had kept an eye on him, had inflicted violence as they deemed necessary. the goal was to break tatum as much as possible, stop him from causing any trouble. it seems that they'd succeeded in that much.

the door opens, the figure tate can only just make out through blurred vision is certainly not bradley's. it's not one he's familiar with at all, hasn't seen it before. he can't make out details, all he sees is someone new - someone rushing towards him. panic ensues, terror overwhelming as he faces the reality that he just can't take any more of this. it's one last effort, one last hope. if he can't overpower the man and get away, maybe, just maybe, this will be the final straw and they'll just kill him. it'd get him to shut up for good, it'd stop all of the pain. with a grunt he rushes forward, attempts a tackle. he's not exactly strong like this, plenty of injuries still bleeding. he barely makes the man stumble, definitely isn't getting out by going around him. definitely isn't winning a fight either. he's not stable on his feet, stumbling with every move he makes. he's pretty sure there's something very wrong with his leg, but it's not his top priority right now. he takes a swing, but he completely misses. he doesn't exactly process that the blurred vision makes it harder, brain so focused on trying to fight that he isn't stopping to consider his own abilities. he can hear someone saying his name, he can hear the echoed sounds of caspian crying. everything feels so far away. another attempted swing misses, this time throwing tate off balance and he crashes to the floor hard. at that point instinct kicks in, body curling into a ball, blood soaked hand cradled close to his chest.

CHAPTER 4.

"jesus christ." i mumble as i pull up to the house. making my way in, dressed as laurie strode with the gas mask from my bloody valentine.

"and who are you?" stu asks with a smile. i yank the mask off my face, letting the blonde streaks fall free. "seriously?"

"mhm. it was either this or michael myers, and i wanted to be more original." waving the mask around before slipping it back on. "i've got my shit in the car. tatum and sid will be here in a few."

"ok, i'll go get it. go find randy or something." he nods to my car before walking off. i walk over to randy who was already in the living room.

"guess who." i laugh, covering his eyes.

"lemme guess, laurie strode?" he jokes, grabbing my waist and pulling me into his chest.

"with a twist of hardy warden." he laughs loudly, pulling the mask off my face so he could plant a kiss on my lips.

"i wanna dance, let's dance!" i smile, getting into a rhythm he could copy.

we dance for a while until stu calls me into the kitchen with a beer funnel.

"oh hell yes!" i walk over, grabbing the tube, sticking it in my mouth, sucking down the alcohol as stu pours it into the funnel. "stu, why the fuck is that priss reporter here?" i notice the top story van and dewey's car outside.

"i don't know!" he drops the funnel, watching dewey and gale weathers talking outside.

"stuart macher, you are a total fucking dumbass! why the hell would you let the deputy and some annoying reporter in here!" i yell, walking into the living room.

"know what, it's not a biggie, let's go hang." we plop down onto the couch where randy was taking tally for the movie to watch.

"how come jamie lee curtis is in all of these movies?" sid mumbles, flipping through the tapes.

"because she's the scream queen." randy smiles.

"with a set of lungs like that, she should be!" stu remarks.

"tits. see?" tatum says.

the door opens, which redirects mine and stu's eyes to the deputy and reporter.

"i'm gonna get them to leave." he jumps over the back of the couch, almost tripping over his hugh hefner robe. "hey tate. grab another beer, would ya? there's more beer in the garage."

"what am i, the beer wench?" she hops up, and walks into the garage.

"i'm gonna run to the restroom." i mumble to sidney and randy before shooting up the stairs into stu's bedroom. i change my shoes, from heels to converse, before grabbing my other stuff and putting it in an easy access spot.

i walk back downstairs, grabbing randy's hand before dragging him into one of the guest rooms.

"what's got you all worked up?" he smiles.

"nothing. i'm just in a good mood."

"then jamie lee me already baby." i lean back into the mattress, pulling him into me.

MEANWHILE

tatum slips into the garage, clicking on the light while opening the garage door and shutting it again. she skips over to the fridge, pulling out five bottles.

a loud crash makes her whip around.

"jesus!"

a cat runs out of the garage through the dog flap.

"tatum, it's ok." she goes to open the door, but finds it locked. "shit." then the lights click off. she knocks on the door in an attempt to get one of the dimwits to let her back inside. "hey shitheads! hello?"

she opens the garage again, almost walking out when it stops and closes, turning around to be met with ghost face.

"is that you, randy?"

they shake their head no.

"cute. what movie is this from, i spit on your garage?" she jokes, walking over to the door. "lose the outfit, if sidney sees it, she'll flip."

they block the door, shaking their head no.

"oh! you wanna play psycho killer? can i be the helpless victim? okay, let's see, no, please don't kill me mr. ghost face, i wanna be in the sequel!" she tries to get around them, but gets stopped again. "cut casper! that's a wrap!"

they grab her, making the bottles fall from her arms.

"randy, what the hell are you doing?"

a knife appears in their hand before cutting her arm open. she starts backing up, grasping her arm tightly to stop the blood flow. she runs to the freezer, hitting them in the face before she runs to open the garage door, picking up some of the unbroken bottles to throw at the person.

she runs over to the dog flap, trying to crawl through when the garage door begins to open.

BACK TO MADDIE

i hop out of the bed, randy following in pursuit so we could meet back with the others.

"i'm gonna go grab something." i smile, kissing his cheek before walking up the stairs again. this time, i shove my pistol into my pants waistband. at this time, some people were leaving. i walk down the stairs as billy pops his head i to the door, scaring sidney. he shoots stu the look before looking back at sid.

"leave the girl alone, b!" i shoot a nerf bullet at his head that i found in stu's room.

"hey, that's mine!" stu whines. i toss him the toy gun once i get to the bottom of the stairs.

"oh, billy, hey."

"billy, hm. what are you doin' here?" stu says with a smile.

"i was hoping i could talk to sid alone." billy shoots me the look to go get ready, which i immediately take, and start up the stairs.

"you know, if tatum sees you here, she'll draw blood."

"i'll tell you what. why don't you go up to my parents room? you know, you guys can talk, whatever."

i fake gag from the top of the staircase, which the boys notice.

"subtlety, stu. you should look it up." billy shoots back.

"no, it's ok. we do need to talk." as he walks into the house, he nails stu right in the gut.

it's gonna be a long night.

If you have followed Tatum and Leak’s work you could say that they have been making plays that beg to be adapted into audio dramas for years. Tatum has a toolkit of conventions that he uses in all of his projects. Most of them are rooted in the economy of language: one word is worth a thousand pictures projected on the back of the audience’s eyelids. Add to that his heavy use of narration and double-casting and you could argue that his true venue is on the grand stage of the audience’s imagination. We can picture the story happening as if we were binging it on Netflix.

We fell in love with Trovillion’s acting style the minute we first saw her performance in 2020. She has a voice and talent that takes center stage and commands your attention. Wherever she (and her character) are headed you just want to follow. Her abilities combined with Tatum’s storytelling prowess are the reasons that you are hooked on every word.

(Randy Reeks x Reader)

A/n: A fluffy fic for everyone's favorite movie nerd 🤓

Warning ⚠️: cursing, major simp vibes

Word count: 1,182

Randy couldn't take his eyes off of you the minute Billy had introduced you to the group. If he would have known Billy was hiding you over in Lakewood he would have started to be a lot nicer to him a long time ago.

You practically took his breath away when you walked up to the fountain Billy besides you holding your shoulder tightly in a way no one has seen him do before.

"So this is my cousin (y/n) she's gonna be hanging out with us. Be nice to her, ok ." Billy was straight to the point as always sitting back down near Sidney not bothering to say anything more about you. It seemed as if you were Billy's secret soft spot with how protective he was of you.

"Hi it's so nice to meet you all." You smiled, waving awkwardly. Randy could tell you weren't sure what to do with yourself so of course naturally he'd take matters into his own hands.

"Here, sit by me and make yourself at home, we don't bite I promise." Randy scooted over so that you wouldn't be stuck halfway off the fountain and so you where closest to him.

"I mean I'd only bite if you want me too." Stu flashed you his stupid shit eating grin causing Tatum to hit him in the arm.

Randy glared at Stu before turning back to you "So what brings you to the wonderfully dull town of Woodsboro."

"Oh um I'm staying with Billy and my uncle for a bit while my mom gets a few things sorted." Randy was ready to say more but got cut off by Billy standing abruptly.

"Let's go (y/n) Stu and I got things to do we'll all hang out another time." Billy walked over to you and Stu followed suit. 

"It was nice to meet you all. I hope we can hang out again soon." Randy watched in awe as you walked off with Billy and Stu.

"I think your drooling Randy." Tatum said popping a grape in her mouth as Sidney giggled.

"Yha Randy I think you might wanna wipe your chin. Billy really cares about (y/n) he looks at her like a sister so you might wanna tread lightly." Sidney said.

"For your information I wasn't drooling I was just idely admiring her beauty. And I could care less on what looney Loomis thinks." He said getting up to make his way to work.

Truthfully Randy couldn't wait to get the chance to talk to you again and lucky for him it would come sooner than he thought because here you were browsing through the movies at the video store.

"Hey (y/n) we met earlier today at the fountain. You know I'm more than happy to help if you're looking for anything in particular." He came to a screeching halt with the rental cart stopping beside you.

"Of course I remember Randy that was only like a few hours ago. I could actually use some help if you don't mind. All I got so far is Casper." You turned to him waving the tape in hand and he was more than ready to take this opportunity to the fullest.

"So judging on assumptions you strike me as a Clueless kinda girl so I'm gonna say go with the Hideaway it just came out plus it has Alicia Silverstone in it. It's not the best but it definitely makes the time go by probably better then your friendly ghost." He handed you the tape from his cart and you gladly accepted as he brushed his fingers against yours slightly.

"Hmm thanks I guess this beats me just watching Casper tonight. Billy did say you're the guy to go to for movie suggestions. Do you have anything else in mind ?" Randy couldn't help but notice the adorable way you turned your head slightly when you asked a question.

"Well I'm definitely your guy then. I'm honestly shocked Billy Loomis actually talks about me, thanks for letting me know i feel so special now." His voice was laced with sarcasm when he mentioned Billy's name.

"It's the only nice thing he says about you if I'm being honest." You giggled.

"Hm I'm definitely not surprised, we're not each other's biggest fans. I just hope he hasn't said anything too bad about me to you."

Randy was screaming on the inside hoping Billy didn't tell you that he was some type of loser virgin movie nerd. He wanted to make a good impression and the last thing he needed was Billy ruining it before he could even start anything.

"Don't worry I'll decide for myself on how I feel about you, now why don't you tell me more about Alicia Silverstone's great filmography."

Randy smiled gladly taking the opportunity to talk to you more he thought he was really charming you when you started to laugh at all his jokes but he was so distracted by looking at you that he didn't realize Stu was behind him mimicking him the whole damn time.

"Damn it Stu, how long have you been here?" Randy's face flushed as you and Stu started to laugh.

"I'm sorry Randy I should have told you but I kinda wanted to see how long it would take for you to notice Stu but when your in your rants nothing gets to you." You put your hand on his shoulder and he felt himself ease with your touch.

If he was like this with only knowing you for less than a day then he could only imagine the hold you'd have on him the more you got to know each other.

Billy took one more look at Randy before following after you most likely to scold you for your sudden act of boldness.
