People say that things are constantly changing and evolving, but coming back here after being gone since I finished high school just proves to me that some things stay the same. It doesn’t seem like much of anything is different, aside from some familiar faces looking a little older.

So my 5-year-old started Kindergarten this year...and I found myself balling like a baby. Forget the fact I had an extra year because he was born in October and not sooner... He legit walked away like I wasn’t even there. Who does that? And now he loves school and everything that comes with it. He asked me if he could start planning his birthday party now because he is making so many friends. It's like I don’t exist. Anyways how is everyone else?

Spooky season always starts in September, even though it isn’t until October. There is something I love about putting the decorations up and carving pumpkins.

Although, I’m not too fond of having to put Ben up at the window this year. That skeleton always spooks me at 2am.

Christmas is 122 days. Hallmark has already been showing a few Christmas movies here and there, and I’ve been looking at Christmas trees and ornaments online for the past two hours.

Anyone else super enthusiastic for holidays, or is it just me?

Pray tell why this bottle blonde came into my shop with the worst nail job I’ve seen in a long time, and decided to chastise me? Darling, maybe fix your whole situation before you judge me. At least I know how to take care of my acrylics.

My cosplay adventures are taking a little longer than I thought they would. So far all I’ve gotten done is a tie and Halloween is coming so much quicker than I thought it would... I might have to use one of my other costumes instead of the one I’m working on.

There’s nothing like being fashionably late to the party, am I right?  In my defense, the friend that helped me setting up this account had a busy week. Anyhow, I’m here now. Did anyone miss me?

Is it possible to be excited for fall and cool weather but miss summer already? I swear I go through this little dilemma every year. Although I know once all the holidays come up these blues will be a distant memory. Please tell me I’m not alone though.

Seems like just one of those nights where the work never stops coming... Do I dare put on another pot of coffee? Unless one of you have something interesting enough to say to wake me up.

So this lady with dark brown hair down her back comes into the salon and ask for a trim. No problem, I cut less than two inches off. Her hair was still past her shoulders when she left. Three days later, she comes back into the salon with bright orange, frizzy hair that is some how up to her chin.

Customer: “You need to give me a refund for the cut, a refund for the bleach job–” *Which we didn’t color or bleach or put any chemicals in her hair.* “–and you need to fix the bleach and tone it! Oh, and you need to pay for my extensions!”

Me: “Why would we refund you on a color job we didn’t do?”

Customer: “Because you’re too expensive for color services and if you were cheaper I wouldn’t have tried to do it at home!”

Hell’s yeah, it’s Autumn!! Or as Pooh would say ...A time for hot chocolatey mornings, and toasty marshmallow evenings, and, best of all, leaping into leaves! Oh, and don’t forget, sweater weather...

Have you ever hired and fired someone all in one day? Because I’ve got to say, I thought one of the coaches I hired was going to be a great. He had the experience and the skills, and it turned out that he only applied because he knew of me from high school years on an opposing cheer team, and had a running bet with his buddies that he could get in my pants back then and figured this was his prime opportunity. Needless to say I need to find another new coach. And I don’t know why anyone would think I’m into just randomly hooking up with them. 

Please, humor me, tell me that you’ve all had a better time today than I did.

So I was today years old when I learned that Aiden not only likes girls, but he has a thing for older women...should have known all that flirting he tends to do. So we watched Disney Channel, you know mommy-son time, and the ever fantastic Brand comes on screen. Now I met her before Aiden, so he had never met her. But she starts singing, and Aiden is transfixed on her. He doesn't look away from the screen but goes, "Mommy, who is that?" So I say, "That's Brandy." And he smiles and goes, "I love you, Brandy; you are my girlfriend now." I am at a loss as to what to say at this point... this boy is 5 going on 20, and I am not here for it.

Open Starter - Ty

Can someone please explain to this Scotsman why it’s so damn hot today? It’s October! It’s supposed to be cold! It’s meant to rain in October... or maybe that’s the fact I’ve never adapted to the Georgia weather patterns.

Anyway, who wants a smoothie? I bought this new machine from Amazon and it works a charm. Might do that as a new venture. Ty’s Jokes and Smoothies.

The latest shipment just came in and I’m in love with the colors. All the pigment is so vibrant and fun, I can’t wait to see what people come up with from it.
