Food Hunts Mnl | Jubis Week!

This blog post are not all in order but I hope you enjoy reading the B and I’s latest food hunts with a combination of reviews and kwento about each restaurant we recently tried! 

The usual “San tayo kain” led us back to Trinoma last Thursday morning. The B suggested to eat in Max’s and the first thing that came into my mind was their delicious hot Sinigang! Perfect for the bed weather!!! We ordered their all time favorite fried chicken (I do not know what size though pero kasya samin dalawa infairness haha) and their Sinigang na Hipon. It was served after 10-15 minutes just like what was informed to us upon ordering. Their Sinigang na Hipon is already good for 2-3 persons. There were a lot of ingredients in it but the soup was probably just right for the 2 of us. I don’t know if you can ask for soup refill tho haha! I do not need to elaborate how we love their chicken. Almost every Filipino knows how Max’s chicken differ from the rest. :)

I also want to commend how great the customer service is. Starting from the entrance they’ll ask for your name which kind of gives you a personal touch to be called by your first name instead of the usual ma'am or sir. They are very corteous and they always like to refill our water glasses! Hehe good job! (I always like to review the restaurants that I visit but it was just funny that my boyfriend also wanted to review Max’s because of their incredible service) taray!

Chili’s

It was a Thursday night, probably around 10pm when we decided to grab some late dinner at Tomas Morato. Chili’s was honestly not our first option but a lot of the restaurants we wanted to try were already closed. Good thing Chili’s is actually open til midnight! 1 point for that! HAHA

The crews were very accommodating. They were very happy to serve us even if it’s almost the end of their shift no? That is how you treat your guest and I am very very pleased with their customer service :)

I ordered Monterey Chicken (495php) because the picture just looks super inviting. When I read that it included bacons I just knew that was the one I wanted to eat. After tasting it tho I got kinda surprised to taste a dominant citrus flavour. The B and I can’t decided if it was marinated with lemon/orange. Don’t get me wrong, it taste good but I don’t know. I thought I just wasn’t able to capture that from the menu but when I went back to check their description for this dish, here’s the only thing it says: “Grilled chicken breast topped with BBQ sauce, crispy bacon, cheese, diced tomatoes and green onions. Served with mashed potatoes and steamed fresh veggies”

The B on the other hand ordered their big ass Southwest Ribeye. (1550php) It was super tender and juicy. I swear we loved this steak! The flavour was perfect and it was freakin’ huge so it really satisfied the B’s growling tummy!

Oh and one last thing!!! I just find it a bit odd that our table can really feel the AC’s vibration because I guess the table was connected with the wall?

Anyhow it was a great first time experience here. My boyfriend is a steak lover and he really enjoyed this restaurant more than Rack’s to be honest with you. So keep it up! :)

Carousel Creamery

I’m happy that the B decided to take me out somewhere different than our go-to places around Cubao/Maginhawa. :) I was still not hungry at around 4pm so he decided to ask the usual 

“coffee tayo?”

I prefer something different than usual. So I searched for some dessert places near the area (of course with the help of Zomato!) And found this awesome ICE CREAM HAVEN. They have all these unique, TEMPTING flavors, I all just want to devour!!! Heehee. If my memory serves me right they have like 100 different flavors to choose from. They give free taste to help you decide what flavor to get. Of course I got the mint one. It was heaven on earth. Plus their place is spacious enough for family/groups. Totally digging this ice cream parlor!

Peri-Peri

The B and I actually had a little petty argument right after we ate at Carousel Creamery. heehee. I honestly just want to call it a night even though we haven’t taken our dinner yet. Yung mga moments na wala-na-akong-gana-kumain-uwi-nalang-tayo. (Char!) Of course the B wont let it happen. He managed to make things right and still pushed to take me to a nice dinner.

From Greenhills we went to Eastwood hoping to find a new restaurant to try. We ended up trying Peri-peri. (I know meron din nun sa Promenade! hahaha) I’m not complaining as well kasi I also stumbled upon this restaurant in Zomato and got really curious on how good their chicken is.

We started off with their unlimited soup and drinks for 69php each. They have a little buffet area where you can serve yourself. For the main dish we got what they call, Rio (655php). 1 whole chicken plus 4 sides. You can choose rice from their sides selection, so we got two dirty rice, Mashed potato and Coleslaw (my favorite!) So ito na.. We were surprised to see how big it was! (1 Whole nga naman kasi yung inorder namin haha) From my opinion I think it could actually satisfy 3 to 4 growling tummies. The chicken was perfect. I hate to compare but it likes Kenny Roger’s roasted chicken with a twist! Aside from being juicy and tender, their chicken is famous for their wide selection of dips. We were given three kinds namely Hoison Sesame, Cajun Remoulade and I can’t remember the last one but it’s basically something with vinegar. I enjoyed dipping my chicken with 3 different sauces, yum!

I have 2 more food backlogs to finish real soon. After neto pahinga muna, try ko muna mag diet. :D
