hi!! i'm elliot (23, he/him) & i am a storyteller at heart. i've had this blog for a few years but i want to properly use it finally! btw this is a sideblog, i follow back from @carolinedhavernas

my favorite things to write are fantasy & crime (specifically heists). i also enjoy historical fiction (specifically the regency era), horror, & i hate scifi but i write a lot of it lol. but no matter what genre i'm writing, i like to include lgbt, polyam, & neurodivergent characters. i have Too Many WIPs disease but i'm trying to finally get some things finished. i also write fanfiction but this blog is specifically for my original stuff

anyway i would like writing friends so feel free to interact with or message me! i love infodumping about my stuff & i love listening to other people infodump about their stuff!!!

2). When was the last time you cried? Today, I have the Big Sad.

3). Do you have kids? No

4). What sports do you play/have you played? I do not play any currently, but I have played basketball, softball, soccer, track and cross country, and skeet shooting.

5). Do you use sarcasm? I don't know the meaning of the word.

6). What is the first thing you notice about people? Their audacity.

7). What's your eye color? Brown.

8). Scary movie or happy ending? I'm a sap, gimme a happy ending.

9). Any talents? I can write and overwork myself.

11). What are your hobbies? Reading, writing, zoning out, listening to music, brushing up on my tarot, now exercising and walking a lot.

12). Do you have any pets? A puppy who is more princess than anything.

13). How tall are you? 6'

14). Favorite subject in school? English because I could get away with reading and writing more than doing my classwork, which I did before they told me to anyway lol

15). Dream job? Stay at home reclusive writer. I love the pharmacy jobs I have now where I help people behind the scenes and at a mental health hospital, but I'd really like to rarely leave my house. That is my all time favorite dream.

➠ last song: “Ceilings” by Lizzy McAlpine - honestly, I don’t listen to folk pop at all but I was in a melancholy mood last night. I had to make a big decision last night and now that’s over. I feel like I’m not lovable and there’s no one to love, at least not anywhere near me. Although this song is popular as a T*kT*k remix, the original is great. Some great song-writing there.

➠ last show/movie: Ted Lasso, the newest episode. Oh man it has me in a choke hold. It gets me thinking about so many things, about love.

➠ currently watching: The Mandalorian (new episode tonight!) - I think some people are disappointed in this one so I wanna know why. Also rewatching Foyle’s War.

➠ currently reading: I’ve been trying to just finish The Dark Secret of Weatherend, amongst many books but I’ve been pretty overwhelmed of late. Also there’s a Tetris graphic novel by Box Brown that’s been fun to pick at.

➠ current obsession: Tetris, Ted Lasso. Not much else currently.

I feel like this might be an unpopular opinion but the 80s ones!! (late Four through to Six) They're weird and fun and I like the variation on the theme music they use then as well ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

89. How do you think you’d meet the Doctor?

I honestly have no idea haha 😅 I *am* currently at uni in [redacted city that's featured a fair bit in new who] though, so maybe via an alien invasion there or something bc it seems statistically more likely in DW terms to happen there than anywhere else I'd be askfjskkfdsk

16. If you could only write one pairing for the rest of your life, which pairing would it be?

doctor/river, obvs. i love writing them so so so much and just thinking about how much they love each other makes me so happy. and also this way i can kinda cheat and write all the different doctors with river but anyway technically they’re the same person so LOOPHOLE

23. If you were to revise one of your older fics from start to finish, which would it be and why?

oh yikes. Ummm,,,, im gonna say my very first one, just because by default it’s one of my worst fics ever. I’ve gotten a lot of flak from people because i made the doctor throw their wedding bowtie out the tardis while they were in the vortex, but i stand by that decision :)))) but i can think of dozens of ways to maybe deal more with the loss of the ponds and what it means for both river and the doctor. So yea, that’s what i’d change about that fic. 

28. Share three of your favourite fic writers and why you like them so much.

Okay so, in no particular order:

@mygalfriday - there’s just no way to refute this. Everything she writes is just so amazing and in character and it makes you laugh and cry and at the end of the day it really feels like you’re just reading a dw episode in book form. She’s amazing, and she wrote my absolute favourite doctor/river fic of all time. I’ll always go back to this fic when i’m feeling shitty because it just fills my heart with so much joy and happiness and it makes me feel all fuzzy and ncioknsonxown, you know? 

@xhellnhighheelsx - bree is just one of those amazing writers that just makes you go… HOLY SHIT. She’s so good and i know this for a fact because when i read and the rest is rust and stardust i was just so in awe of her style and the way she wrote the characters and tied the plot together. It’s so, so good, and every other fic from her is equally amazing as well. 

@thespacehairandthespaceidiot - okay i know it’s cheating because technically she’s my very very good friend but HEAR ME OUT. When i first got into the mattex fandom, the very first fic i read that really gripped me was cassie’s. It was a fic called someone tell me what happened because i don’t remember a thing  and it was bloody amazing. She also wrote my favourite mattex fic of all time. Also i met her after i knew what a bloody amazing writer she is so it totally counts and i won’t hear a word against it ok bye.

Currently Watching: Well, if you mean the last thing I watched on TV, that would be Bluey. No shame there I would watch Bluey all by myself.

Currently Reading: I did finally start the Ruby's Curse audiobook the other day!!! ....well. I say started. I did start it when I was in the shower but the volume didn't go up loud enough to make it out over the water so I just turned it off.

Current Obsession: Listen it's always River Song. Forever. She's my final stop on the hyperfixation express. I traveled far and wide as a youngster but now I've settled down here.

Unrelated Obsession: um honestly the only thought in my mind after having 3 back to back viral illnesses in a month and going on day 7 of fever with this one is PLEASE GOD MAKE IT END. I AM SO TIRED OF BEING SUPER EXTRA SICK.
