It is so hard trying to read Daryl fic cause like... the premise is there and they a have good potential.
But absolutely no one in this fandom can write his accent.
They always stick to the term "ya" for "you" but that is such a conditional usage word!
When it comes to how he talks you really have to mix in some plan "you"s and simple "y'(word)"s and when it comes to "your" you need some "yer"s in there too (again it's conditional).
When writing his accent and dialect specifically, I find it helps to say what you're writing outloud.
The term "ya'" is a actually pretty clunking when using it in most dialog situations cause how he says it has a longer vowel sound and pause than simply saying "you".
And this one may be a bit nit-picky but "ta'" is such a... choice to substitute "to". Just use "t'" and "t'(verb)".
When in doubt with Daryl's accent, drop longer sounds, words ending in "ing" really just end in "in'", and don't be afraid to push words together with apostrophes!
There're similarities with his accent and mine and it just irks me so much that people write every southern accent the same.

you and rafe are together and have a baby daughter. one day, rafe decides to take her out on a ride. it's nothing serious, just a cruise down kildare, passing the docks, the mangroves, and the marsh. she's giggling on his lap, excited by the wind whipping against her cheeks, the speed that races adrenaline through her young veins, and the time she gets to spend with dad.
that's when you notice your daughter missing. from her crib, just before naptime. you search your entire house—thinking she learned how to magically escape her crib—before dialling rafe in panic.
"relax," rafe says, having pulled over to a stop on the side of the road. he's coaxing his daughter, running his thumb across her cheeks, as she's giggling, her small grabby hands reaching for rafe's helmet. "she's fine. she's with me."
"with you?" you repeat, brows furrowed. "where did you go?"
"just took a drive down the road."
"on your bike?" you punctuate your sentence with that harsh bite, the one that signals rafe there's going to be hell if things don't turn out your way. "rafe. if you don't get back here in ten minutes, i'm going to kill you."
"relax," he repeats, but twists his throttle, readying for deployment. "it's just a ride. she's safe."
"nine minutes and forty-seven seconds," you warn, before ending the call. rafe groans. pocketing his phone, he straps his daughter securely on his chest, twists his wheels, and returns to the road.
eight minutes and twenty-three seconds later, rafe enters the house where you came rushing down the hallway to grab your daughter from rafe's arms. she's been a little fussy because of the speed rafe was riding—what? he wanted to make it back on time—and her cheeks are flush with the north carolinan winds, while her little fingers reach out to you, babbling mama.
"aw, does my baby miss me?" you take your daughter from rafe, cooing her in your arms as you pinch her cheeks and she giggles from the gesture. all previous attitudes abandoned. "did daddy take you without mommy's permission?"
rafe sighs, rolling his eyes as he sets his helmet down. "she's my daughter too."
"bite me," you throw over your shoulders, eyes narrowed in rafe's direction, before returning your focus back to your daughter. your eyes soften, filled with warmth and love.
"always so aggressive," rafe teases, unloading from his shoes at the foot of the foyer before closing the distance and stepping behind you. his hand glides over the slope of your shoulders, observing the interaction between you and your daughter.
"you're the one that married me," you retort under your breath, not letting your daughter hear her parents arguing—well, more so, bickering, as you usually do.
"and i question it everyday."
that comment earns him a slap on the chest, and your daughter catches the act. but instead of finding worry for her dad, she bursts into a fit of giggles, finding entertainment from the interaction.
"look what you're teaching her," rafe points out, pretending to rub the spot you hit.
"she's enjoying it," you say, bouncing her on your hips. "she knows mommy's always right, and daddy has to pay the consequences. don't you, baby?" you direct the last question to your daughter, dropping your tone into a playful voice and tickling her stomach. she beams, squarming in your grip, and her eyes crinkle with joy and laughter that reminds rafe so much of you.
when she starts to subside, her lashes fluttering close as her naptime nears, you rock your daughter steadily as you move to her room, settling her down on her crib, before exiting.
turning to rafe, you declare. "tell me next time before you kidnap her."
always so dramatic, rafe rolls his eyes again. "you can't kidnap your own kid."
"she's my baby."
"she's ours,"
"no."
rafe laughs at how insistent you are with this notion. but he decides to let it go. let you win. it's better than fighting an uphill battle, and plus, isn't that what marriage is all about?
"alright." he steps closer, planting a kiss on your forehead. "she's yours."
your heart awes. all defense falling from the tender gesture. tipping your chin skyward, meeting rafe's stare, you whisper, "ours."
and rafe laughs again, throwing his arms around you, pulling you flush against his chest. "can't fucking win any arguments with you, can i?"

A South Carolinan woman was arrested and held for 22 days in jail after being initially denied bond, but eventually released with an ankle monitor, after suffering a miscarriage of a wanted daughter in the second trimester and being charged with murder.
This is the horror of criminalizing abortion. Jail time for a miscarriage.
It's great that y'all send me these stories because the lies you and the media spread need to be exposed and I'm happy to be the one to expose you as the liar you are.
And I'm done being nice about this. Just so you know, spitting lies in my inbox doesn't work on me because I actually read the stories and will provide the context you maliciously leave out and show everyone that pro-aborts like you never tell the truth.
First of all, the story you are referring is about a woman named Amari Marsh and what actually happened here was she woke up in the middle of the night in a lot of pain and went to the bathroom where she gave birth to a live baby over the toilet.
Her boyfriend called 911 and dispatcher repeatedly told her to get the baby, who was still alive, out of the toilet but no one did. And the reason she gave for ignoring the dispatcher and just leaving her child to drown in the toilet was "“I couldn’t because I couldn’t even keep myself together.”
When the emergency responders arrived the baby was still in the toilet and still alive. They attempted to perform life saving procedures and rushed the baby to the hospital but sadly, the baby died while at the hospital.
The reason she was arrested is because she failed to remove her living daughter from the toilet as she was instructed to do several times by the dispatcher which ended up being "a proximate cause of her daughter’s death."
Anti-abortion laws had nothing to do with this case and the CNN article that reports on this story even includes that admission from the prosecutor even though it's at the end because, like you, they are liars and want people to believe this is somehow the fault of abortion bans when it's not.
So tell me, what do abortion laws have to do with this? What anti-abortion law is responsible for the death of a baby that was born alive?
This baby was born alive and her mother left her to die in the toilet. So she should not be charged for that?
And also, just going to add people like you always claim infanticide has nothing do with abortion and y'all are still laughing at Donald Trump for talking about babies being left to die after birth following failed abortions because iT dOeSnT't HaPpEn but here we have a case of it happening. This baby was born alive and left to die. This was a case of infanticide and you pro-aborts are immediately blaming anti-abortion laws but I thought abortion and infanticide aren't related so how come they are in this case?
Anyway, you should feel bad about how you presented this story. You should be ashamed of yourself for either being willing to lie to promote murder or being too lazy and stupid to actually read about the case before spreading blatant disinformation.
I know me responding to you with what really happened will not change anything for you and you will continue to lie and spread disinformation because the reason you are willing to do that in the first place is a serious flaw in your character that will only change when you decide to be a better person but at the very least people reading this will know not to ever trust these claims from pro-aborts because it's always a lie.
So please keep sending these because it helps everyone see that pro-aborts are bad people who lie about everything.

For years, May 1 was celebrated as International Workers' Day, also known as Labor Day in some countries, and often referred to as May Day. Here, in 1929, these five South Carolinan textile strike leaders marched in the Communist May Day Parade at Union Square. They carried signs, some of which pleaded for help, and others read, "Everyone on the picket line! Defy the Injunction!" May Day in New York passed quietly.

so yeah it does appear that if i lean into my mother's and grandmother's accent, the feminine version of the high class carolinan drawl, i pass way better. of course this comes with the cost of being read as southern, but. well. it's not actually my grandmother's ridiculous belle affectation, even if it gets closer than i'd like sometimes by accident. it's normal enough for the most part. i can work with this i suppose, it takes no more effort than any other way i know how to talk

Season 2, Episode 3 Liveblog
Teaser:
YES WE HAVE A DRAWL I REPEAT WE HAVE A DRAWL 🚨🚨🚨🪲🤠🚨🚨🚨
FANCY RED COAT RAND is here to steal your wine
My jaw DROPPED at Mat’s glow-up 😍🤩😘 I cannot WAIT for this man to be forcibly extracted from his bathrobe
Loved the Arches & ceremony, some word-for-word quotes there.
First real big surprise is Natti as Wisdom- I would not have thought she had the social standing for that, but otoh possibly the other options died? And it actually seems kind of plausible that she could even be taught to channel if you consider book canon (given Bode and Eldrin), though I don’t think that’s required.
Ooooooh ok I see why they picked Natti- they needed someone to twist the emotional knife in real good 🙃 Also you can see where Mat gets his moral core from, here- there’s a job and someone has to do it. But the jobs no one else wants/can do tend to SUCK, no wonder he tries to avoid them.
(Book Mat gets his values from his dad, but I think there’s probably a lot he got from Natti that he feels on an unconscious level/doesn’t talk about because it’s not at the level of talking, it’s at the level of doing. Relatedly, I keep thinking about a theory I heard that book Natti was a functional alcoholic; someone said that how early book Mat responds to sickness & interpersonal conflict reminds them of adult kids of alcoholics.)
I’m looking forward to the last ring >:)
HUH
I wonder if she had to gentle/kill Lan in there?
Still Peak Nyneave, honestly
OH MAN FAKEOUT YESSSSSSSSS we are getting the canon test!?
Incidentally I like that branded water jug
Where is Suroth getting her lip color? I like it
Oh that’s creepy, incredible horror movie move with the pointing
YES WE HAVE A DRAWL I REPEAT WE HAVE A DRAWL 🚨🚨🚨🪲🤠🚨🚨
The Voice sounds like the South Carolinan delegate (main villain) in the women & minority genders version of 1776 I saw recently. Incidentally, RJ lived in South Carolina.
Female soldier, check
Asymmetric haircut, check
Oh Uno, you are a good man
WOW … but actually that was exactly as dehumanizing and brutal as I would expect
May the last embrace of the mother welcome you home, Uno.
Perrin is gonna do a murder- oh I guess not
Lol Logain has Rand pegged
Hahaha the other fakeout is paying off now too (Logain looking at Mat and Rand in Tar Valon)
Oooh more book quotes!
Miss “I know everything” Selene
The Queen of Cairhein?!?
Glow-up! Glow-up!
Oooooof :(
Liandrin respected someone?
Mat is gonna have SUCH a complex after this, but otoh he’s probably heard worse from his mom
Mat wants to matter T_T
PEAK EGWENE
FANCY RED COAT RAND is here to steal your wine
I love Rand setting the letters on fire
Oooooooh class warfare, Rand is so offended
Wow, Rand is wasting no time
I love Rand being taught by Logain actually
Oh that is a DEEP CUT into WoT lore (pun intended), we know from Origins of the Wheel of Time that RJ was originally intending ‘gentling’ to involve actual castration
Rand are you sure you want to say that?
Oh interesting, does everyone hear LTT? Or just voices?
YAY reunion??? Oh, Mat. :(
Yeah Mat is scared out of his mind
Time for an interview with Ishmael! This reminds me of Mat’s first POV in book 3 actually, at least superficially, but it’s more like the dream meetings
Well done wolves!
So many cages and traps in this ep :D
Ooooof that betrayal’s gonna hurt later
Ooooh maybe we do not want to piss off Selene?
Oh good job setting the Foregate on fire, hero (inn fires 4 lyfe)
Ooooooh yeah Egwene would try to bring Nyneave back
Elayne, a rule follower? Well, when it comes to thinking she knows best, she would be a rule enforcer.
Nyneavelet is very cute
My jaw DROPPED at Mat’s glow-up 😍🤩😘 I cannot WAIT for this man to be forcibly extracted from his bathrobe
Awwww Mat can pay off all his debts in Nyneave’s fantasy world 😭
Ah I see Nyneave’s fantasy world is real enough that it involves visits from the main plot conflict 🧐
“What’s that” is Mommy’s rage-triggered ticket home, sweetie
Oooooooof.

Open Starter (Mutuals / Non-Mutuals)
Ethan Redgrave - 43, pansexual, author / serial killer (AU)
Plot: Full plot inspo here.
Connection Vibe: The final girl/boy who got away but is nevertheless captivated by Ethan. Background details UTP.
++
“Ya know, I’m surprised they let you in to see me. I’d have thought they’d keep you well clear till the trial’s is over...” Even as he mused about his future, Ethan’s characteristic South Carolinan drawl sounded so casual. Once one of America’s most acclaimed authors, Ethan had now become its most infamous. Many questioned how he could’ve gone from fine prose to bloody murder, presumably not least the figure before him - the one who’d gotten away, escaping his knife on the fateful night that had finally brought his spree to an end.
Weeks later, adorned in a prison jumpsuit and chained to the table opposite them, Ethan couldn’t help but wonder why they’d come. Moments after musing about his surprise, he added, “You’re here because you want an explanation from me? Or because you’ve got something to say?” He smiled knowingly and leant forward as if they were old friends talking. “Either way, stay a while. I always like talking with an equal. Plus, I don't get to see much beauty in solitary..."

Classy Carolina Varnish por David Blazejewski Por Flickr: Amtrak Train 75 the afternoon southbound Piedmont from Raleigh to Charlotte is just about to depart from its station stop in Salisbury at the splendidly restored 1908 Spanish Mission style depot. There is no doubting the heritage of these rails as the whistle post guarding the East Council Street crossing is unique to the Southern Railway. Rather than use a W or an X they mounted these heavy aluminum canoe paddle style signs in posts that spelled out the whistle signal for a grate crossing: two longs - a short - and a long. This train is funded by NCDOT as one of Amtrak's state supported services. As described in Amtrak's five year plan: "Across the country, 29 routes are funded by 21 partners from 18 states, including state departments of transportation and authorities chartered specifically to administer individual rail corridors. Collectively, these transportation departments and other entities are referred to as State Partners, and the routes they fund are referred to as state-supported routes. All routes are under 750 miles in length as defined by 49 U.S.C. 24102(13)." While Amtrak provides the equipment for the interstate New York City to Charlotte Carolinian that NCDOT also funds the state's rail division provides the equipment for the strictly intrastate Piedmonts. 1859 seen here is an EMD F59PH built Dec 1988 as GOT 534 serving GO Transit out of Toronto. The train consists of refurbished "heritage" equipment built by Pullman or St. Louis Car Co. originally for the UP and/or KCS. NCDOT owns a total of 8 locomotives, 5 cab cars, and 20 other cars including coaches and baggage/lounge cars. All are adorned with this unique livery based on the North Carolina state flag. This is MP 333. on Norfolk Southern's Charlotte District Mainline. Interestingly despite this being the heart of NS' north south Wasghinton to Atlanta mainline this particular stretch of railroad is not NS but actually the North Carolina Railroad Company. The NCRR is a privately owned non-operating company whose shares are 100% held by the State of North Carolina. Long leased to the Southern and its predecessors since the 1870s the NCRR today is operated and maintained by NS under and exclusive trackage rights agreement.
