GapMinder is a non-profit venture promoting sustainable global development and achievement of the United Nations Millennium Development Goals. It seeks to increase the use and understanding of statistics about social, economic, and environmental development at local, national, and global levels . GapMinder collects data from a handful of sources, including the Institute for Health Metrics and Evaluation, US Census Bureau’s International Database,United Nations Statistics Division, and the World Bank.
After looking through the Codebook of GapMinder the only topics that strike my interest is the Carbon-dioxide emissions throughout the world. We have heard so much about how this is responsible for Global warming and Ozone Depletions. As of now, the variables I would like to choose along with the CO2 emission is the LIFE EXPECTANCY of an individual country and these are included in my personal codebook.

Is CO2 emission responsible for a lesser life rate? If so, how can this be avoided? It is found that the mortality rates increase due to the carbon dioxide emission. And what amuses me is that our blood converts the oxygen to carbon di oxide and the CO2 emissions is having a different effect on our body all together. What amount of CO2 can our body handle? By how much are we exceeding the limit?
These are few questions that popped into my mind.
According to many researchers,
1. Higher temperatures due to carbon dioxide increased the chemical rate of ozone production in urban areas
2. Increased water vapor due to carbon dioxide-induced higher temperatures boosted chemical ozone production even more in urban areas.
A study related to the same topic has been attached.
Patterns and Summary:
The simulations accounted for the changes in ozone and particles through chemistry transport, clouds ,emissions and other processes that affect pollution. Carbon dioxide definitely cost these changes because that was the only input that was very varied . Ultimately you inhale a greater abundance of deleterious chemicals due to carbon dioxide and the climate change associated with it and the link appears quite solid the logical next step is to reduce carbon dioxide that would reduce its warming effect and improve the health of people.
