I always think I'm gonna get so damn much done on my one day off during inpatient and I DO get a lot done but it's never as much as I think I will because my expectations are silly, pbtttt.

Things done:

Three loads of laundry, including bedding

Grocery shopping

Meal prep for the week (fish, chicken, sausage, quinoa with veggies), lunch portions packaged into meal boxes

Mass watering all the plants and taking photo updates for a bunch of them

Potting up three new violets, feat. a holiday gift

Unpacking all the week's mail packages

Put together a new side table

Things not done:

Repositioning the new dash cam stickies in my car and applying the cabin view cam

Playing some Subnautica

Any writing whatsoever

Plant the new Pogostemon helferi in my aquarium (time sensitive, will hopefully get it done this week)

Read the new update for a fic I've been keeping up with

Early in the first movie after doc and lightning race, when lightning is trying to get that left turn down, where doc drives up and touches base with sheriff and he tells him what he's trying to do-- turn on dirt, and doc goes "huh," he's got this smile on his face. This small, pleasant smile that he wipes it off his face when he notices the sheriff and tells him to go top off at Flo's, that he'll keep an eye on lightning. And the whole time he's talking, you can watch their eyes: sheriff isnt paying too close attention, but doc's never leave lightning. They follow him down the track.

He says he wanted to leave that world behind, reminding himself to never go back. Over and over again he has tried to push back, but also, he can't help himself. Keeping mementos to remind yourself why you left is still keeping mementos, a shrine, a memorial. a grave. but he still jumps at the opportunity. -- this ain't asphalt, son. this is dirt. He's enthusiastic, passionate, even if lightning isnt forthcoming to it at first.

Racing is his heart.
