Why Does My Mercedes Only Leak Oil When Parked?
Tumblr media
Leakage of oil is not a good sign at all. If you own a car, then you might be knowing that how important is oil for machines. The mechanical parts in machines require lubrication which would make the friction low and allow the machine to work freely. Friction in machines are one of the enemies of performance as it opposes the work done by the machine. So the machine has to use more energy to overcome the friction and work, but in such process, the machine lose energy. A vehicle is a machine which has various mechanical parts and they too require lubrication. Oil provides the lubrication but as it is a fluid, any damage or hole in its system would cause the oil to flow out. In this article, you’ll know what causes the fluid to leak out while Mercedes is parked.
Oil importance and leakage
Oil is very useful for car because it makes the engine to work smoothly, freely. Engine is such an important part which generates power by burning the fuel. Oil lubricates the engine parts, hence the engine has to give a very less effort against the friction while working. So the losses would be very less and the engine would be more efficient, there would be less fuel requirement. You have to top up fuel less which would save your time and money. Oil saves energy and time too.
Oil prevents overheating to some extent. More the friction, more would be the unwanted heat generated when work is done against it. This heat remain in the engine and more and more heat would be produced in the same manner which would overheat the engine. Overheating is highly dangerous because it damages the vital parts of car. Oil is used in every cars, but there are many people that complain that their car is showing low performance, overheating and many other engine issues. So how this is caused while oil is there in your car? Even if your car has oil, such problems would occur if there is leaking of oil or bad oil.
When leakage occurs, the oil stored in the car escapes out. So the oil is wasted, leaving your car out of oil. Engine needs a definite amount of oil for proper lubrication. The leakage of oil can be easily identified by the puddles of oil formed under the car, burning oil smell, gray smoke, etc. But here I’m discussing more about the leakage occurring during the car is parked. While parked, the sign of oil leakage found mostly is the oil puddles at the ground under the car.
What would cause oil to leak out while your Mercedes is parked?
The leakage of oil has to be stopped or else you’ll be the sufferer. But before fixing, you need to know the source of leakage, or which part makes the oil to leak out.
Gaskets are damaged
There are various seals or gaskets present at the engine through which the oil flows. Such gaskets are located at the underneath of car. These are vulnerable to damages as these are exposed to extreme weather conditions, moisture, road debris, dust, etc. So they wear and oil leaks through them.
Leaking oil pan
The oil pan is located at the underneath of car and is an essential components that take part in the supply of oil to engine. These are durable, but get exposed to road debris, punctures and many other things from roads which can damage the oil pan gradually. Damage of the oil pan makes the oil to leak out especially while the car is parked.
Some components not installed properly
Mostly, the oil drain plug located under the car get such issues. It is provided to drain out bad oil. People sometimes forget to install the drain plug properly, so they leave it loose or unaligned which make the oil to flow out while parked.
Leaking valve seals
The oil flows to the various valves present in the engine and camshafts and crankshaft to lubricate them. There is a seal that prevents the oil to leak into the cylinders. Such seals develop cracks and holes which make the oil to go into cylinders so that when the car is again made to run, the engine simply misfires.
Conclusion
By having regular maintenance, you can prevent oil leaks in Mercedes. Immediately take your car for diagnosis at Mercedes service center if you get signs of oil leaks.

The Benefits of Choosing Aftermarket Parts for Your Vehicle
1. Cost Savings
One of the biggest advantages of aftermarket parts is their affordability. OEM parts can be quite expensive because they are branded and sometimes come with higher production costs. On the other hand, aftermarket parts are often more competitively priced, allowing you to save money on repairs and maintenance without sacrificing quality. For many vehicle owners, this cost difference can be a deciding factor, especially when facing multiple repairs.
2. Greater Variety
Aftermarket parts come in a wide range of options, giving you the freedom to choose what suits your needs and budget. Whether you're looking for high-performance parts, eco-friendly alternatives, or budget-friendly options, the aftermarket industry has it all. This variety allows car enthusiasts to customize and enhance their vehicles in ways that OEM parts might not offer.
3. Comparable (or Better) Quality
A common misconception is that aftermarket parts are of lower quality than OEM parts. While there are some substandard options in the market, many aftermarket parts are designed to meet or even exceed the quality of OEM parts. Established aftermarket manufacturers invest in research, testing, and high-quality materials to produce parts that perform just as well as, if not better than, the original parts. Always choose reputable brands to ensure the parts you purchase are reliable and durable.
4. Easier Availability
Finding OEM parts for older or less common vehicle models can be challenging. In contrast, aftermarket parts are widely available for a broad range of makes and models, making it easier to find exactly what you need. Many local auto shops and online retailers carry aftermarket parts, providing a convenient solution for urgent repairs or upgrades.
5. Improved Performance
If you're looking to enhance your vehicle's performance, aftermarket parts are the way to go. Performance enthusiasts often turn to aftermarket components to upgrade aspects like exhaust systems, brakes, suspension, and more. These parts are specifically designed to offer improved functionality, making them a favorite among car lovers who want to customize their driving experience.
6. Flexibility
Unlike OEM parts, which are designed to match the original specifications of the vehicle, aftermarket parts offer more flexibility. This flexibility allows you to modify or upgrade your car in ways that suit your personal preferences. Whether you’re upgrading for better performance, aesthetic appeal, or improved fuel efficiency, aftermarket parts give you the freedom to tailor your vehicle to your exact specifications.
How to Choose Quality Aftermarket Parts
Not all aftermarket parts are created equal, so it's essential to do some research before making a purchase. Here are a few tips to help you make an informed decision:
Look for reputable brands: Stick to well-known manufacturers with good reviews.
Check warranties: Quality aftermarket parts often come with warranties, indicating confidence in the product’s durability.
Read reviews: Customer feedback can give you valuable insights into the performance and reliability of the parts you're considering.

5 Signs That Your Spark Plugs Might Not Have Much Life Left From Experts in Atlanta
Tumblr media
There are certain parts in your car that play a stellar role in the smooth running and better performance of the vehicle. One such component is the spark plugs that are responsible for igniting the air/fuel mixture in the combustion chamber of your car.
However, malfunctioning of the spark plugs can adversely affect the performance of the car & needs to be addressed immediately. Here in this article, we will discuss the top signs associated with failing spark plugs in your car shared with us by the expert mechanics in Atlanta.
Starting Issues
Rough Idling
Improper Acceleration
Unusual Sounds From The Engine
Poor Fuel Efficiency
Starting Issues
One of the prominent signs associated with failing spark plugs in your car is related to problems in starting the vehicle. The spark plugs help in starting the vehicle by igniting the air/fuel mixture in the car and when you are failing to start your car or it is taking too much time then it can be caused due to spark plugs failure.
The engine would require multiple attempts to start and this is a significant sign associated with malfunctioning spark plugs. Most people try to link this situation with a failing battery but you must steer clear from this idea because, in case of a dead battery, your vehicle wouldn’t crank.
However, with a failed spark plug you will see that the engine cranks but still struggles to start indicating that the faulty spark plugs need to be replaced with new ones.
Rough Idling
There are many symptoms associated with failing spark plugs in your vehicle but some of them figure prominently at the top of the list and common among them is the rough idling of your engine. You are going to notice this symptom when your vehicle is standing in traffic.
Whenever you are plagued with a failing spark plug in your vehicle, you will notice vibrations in your car which will be accompanied by unusual sounds coming from the engine of your vehicle. The irregularity in firing of the spark plugs creates problems in the combustion process of your vehicle.
If the rough idling problem is left unaddressed for a long time then you might encounter engine misfires & low fuel efficiency from your vehicle.
Improper Acceleration
Most of the time people driving a high-end car won’t face any issues with the acceleration of the car under normal circumstances. However, issues with the functioning of the spark plugs can take a toll on the performance of your car in the form of reduced acceleration.
You might notice that your car is slow to respond whenever you press the gas pedal of your vehicle and you will also notice that your vehicle struggles to climb elevations and also overtaking other cars would become difficult. As the spark plugs in your car are compromised it affects the combustion process leading to reduced power output from the engine.
The moment you notice this problem, you should get in touch with a qualified mechanic who can help in replacing the damaged spark plugs.
Unusual Sounds from the Engine
Due to faulty spark plugs in your vehicle, you will come across unusual sounds coming from the engine of your car while driving. The majority of drivers having encountered spark plug issues claim to have heard a knocking noise coming from under the hood of the vehicle from the engine.
The knocking sound coming from the engine is caused due to improper burning of the air/fuel mixture inside the engine of your car. The knocking noise needs to be addressed quickly because it can cause irreversible damage to the engine of your car.
Poor Fuel Efficiency
The fuel efficiency of your car is going to remain constant both while driving on the highway and also while driving in the city under normal circumstances. Nevertheless, problems with the spark plugs do affect the miles per gallon of your car in the long run.
As the combustion process of your vehicle gets affected, the fuel doesn’t burn efficiently inside the engine of your car leading to a fall in the fuel mileage of the vehicle.
Finally
The above-discussed factors are some of the most common signs associated with malfunctioning spark plugs in your car. Replacing the damaged spark plugs is a very small maintenance procedure that you shouldn’t delay any longer. Make sure you fix an appointment with your certified mechanic and get your spark plugs replaced.

5 Reasons Why You Shouldn’t Delay in Getting Your Audi Engine Serviced
Tumblr media
Now a days, we have become dependent on some machines that we may not imagine of living without them as they have become a permanent part of our routine worn, a vehicle is such a machine. Most of the people prefer the use of vehicles to go to their regular work. Vehicles work for you on regular basis, hence they also need maintenance and care. But people make delay in those works. This effects the vehicle very much. Luxury vehicles like Audi are usually expensive, but they provide you a better travelling experience with various other features and a very good performance, but all these features would be of no use if there will be no servicing. In this article, you will know why your Audi car needs servicing and why you shouldn't delay in getting your car serviced.
Importance of engine servicing
You all know that engine is one of the vital part of motor cars. It performs a very important work of converting the chemical energy from fuel to mechanical energy. It burns down the fuel with enough air to produce heat energy to make the movement in pistons. It then produces torque at its crankshaft. This torque would be used to make the wheels turn and propel the car. To do this process, the engine has various components that take part in the process. These are ignition system, cylinders, pistons, various shafts, axles, various gaskets and hoses, etc.
There are many people having a busy schedule and they have to use vehicles regularly. Engine always work whenever you start and run the car, collective working of the engine components make the engine run. Hence those components get dirty, wear with time due to repeated work. Those parts get exposed to high stress, strain, high temperatures, dirt, grime, etc and hence they gradually get wear and tear and their health may start to deteriorate. The fluids like oil and coolant have great roles in making the engine run properly. These fluids flow every time through the engine, the oil lubricates the engine parts. The coolant absorbs the excess heat from engine to maintain a suitable temperature for the operation of engine. These fluids also get exhausted and lose their quality after a long term use, hence they needs to be changed and so the other parts of engine.
Regular maintenance and service helps the engine to last long. Servicing includes all these works like checking of engine oil and coolant levels and their color, checking of any leakage. Behaviour of the engine while running, checking the spark plugs and other ignition system parts, checking the oil and fuel filters, etc. There are some parts in engine that are very costly, if you would not do any servicing of your car for a very long, time, then your engine would start getting some minor issues which would damage even the costly parts if not fixed in right time. If the oil and coolant are not changed at right time, then it would leads to overheating. There are several of problems which would create trouble if the service is delayed.
Here are some problems that would happen if the engine service is delayed.
Very poor performance
If the engine is not serviced in right time, then various parts would wear and cannot function properly, hence the engine would not work properly, leading to low performance.
Engine overheating
Lack of oil or coolant can make the engine temperature to rise very high. The heat in the engine cannot escape out and damage many vital parts of engine. The condition is called overheating.
Strange noises
If the engine is not maintained well, then there would be lack of lubrication between the parts. Those parts would wear and create noise while working roughly.
Engine dying
If the engine is not taken for service for a long time, then all the vital parts of the engine would stop working and hence the engine would die.
Costly repairs
You would have to spend more money for diagnosis as the costly parts would get damaged due to lack of servicing.
Poor fuel economy
If the maintenance is poor, then your engine would consume more and more fuel and give you less output.
Conclusion
Delaying of service can make your car a liability. Buying car is a very important investment. So you have to get it serviced regularly so that you would save your money, time and effort.

Here is what it means when your Jaguar Says restricted Performance
Tumblr media
Every car owners want their car to have a very good performance so that it would be profitable for them. So they buy very good performing cars having long lasting components and awesome designs like Jaguar, Audi, etc. But sometimes the performance of Jaguar is questioned when the car gives some warning signs related to performance or a message pops up saying - ‘restricted performance’. The jaguar car owners are found to complain that their car is showing restricted performance message. They get worried. So what does this message actually mean is what I’m gonna discuss in this article.
‘Restricted performance’ message on Jaguar
When the message saying restricted performance comes on the dashboard, many drivers get worried, questions arise in their mind that is this a serious or long term issue or not? Will they have to top up fuel frequently? What has caused this message to pop up?
So the restricted performance message is a sign that your car is having some issue in the operation due to which it would give a low performance by reducing the output power to protect some components from getting totally damaged. When certain components start having issues, then they would get further damaged if they work while engine operate in full potential and if these components are not protected, then your car would be very badly affected, even it would die. This condition where your car lowers, the output power to go into a safety mode is called limp mode.
So whenever your car would show a restricted performance message, then know that your car must be in limp mode where it would run which a very low power and you will be unable to accelerate it properly. The car would be stuck in lower gears. The engine would not be revving above 2000 Rpm. The speed of the car would not be above 40 mph. You would also find the flashing of check engine light at the dash. So these are some of the signs of limp mode.
So many people take the limp mode negatively, but it is just a safety mode that is enabled by the engine control system when it gets to know about malfunctioning of certain components or systems. Many people do not like to drive their car with restricted performance for long time. To take the car out of the limp mode, you will have to get to know about the causes of the restricted performance error.
What causes the restricted performance error in Jaguar?
Here are some common causes of such error to come up in Jaguar cars.
Faults in the gear box
If there is some faults in the gear system and you are not be able to shift gears, then your car would have some power loss. The car would go into limp mode.
Damaged throttle body
Damages on the throttle body would lead to malfunction, you would not be able to drive with more power. The throttle body makes the car accelerate. When it is damaged, the ECU enables the limp mode to prevent it from damage.
Leaks in the air intake system
When the air intake system has leaks at the filter housing or any hoses, then the air may escape in or out of the system which cannot be noticed by the MAF sensor. The fuel mixture formed from at the combustion chamber would have incorrect proportion of air and fuel, making the engine to run rich or lean, leading to the loss of power.
Faulty fuel pump
A faulty fuel pump also leads to wrong proportion of fuel in the fuel and air mixture formed in the combustion chamber. Which would result in poor combustion and also damages of some components in the ignition and the exhaust system.
Clogged fuel lines
The fuel lines are where the fuel flow with pressure to the combustion chamber. Sometimes, these lines get clogged making hit hard for fuel to flow. A very low amount of fuel would flow to the cylinders. The engine would run lean continuously and become overheated. This would enable the limp mode.
Faulty MAF sensor
The MAF sensor monitors the amount of air flowing to the engine to adjust the amount fuel in the engine. Malfunction of the sensor can make the fuel amount in the engine to rise. High amount of fuel cannot be burned in the combustion process properly. The unburned fuel would pass through the exhaust system and damage the catalytic converter.
Conclusion
If your Jaguar has such error, then take an OBD2 scanner and read the trouble codes from engine and the transmission module to know about the exact issue. Then take your car for diagnosis to Jaguar service centers.

5 Signs Your BMW Water Pump is Messed Up
Tumblr media
Pumps are used to make the supply of fluids from their storage place to the place of use. Pumps are therefore very much useful in cars because of the use of various fluids. These fluids have a great role in making the car run safely for long. So these fluids even need more attention. Many of the problems in car arise due to the fluids. Fluid used are the fuel, engine oil, coolant, gear oil, steering fluid and brake fluids. In this article, you will know about the failing water pump and all its signs.
What causes water pump to fail?
Water pump supplies coolant to the engine. If the water pump is faulty, then the engine would get many temperature issues. Failure of the water pump can lower the pressure of the coolant in the cooling system. The coolant would not pass to the engine in sufficient quantity and hence fails to cool the engine. An engine needs to be in a perfect temperature where it can be operated easily without damaging its parts. During hot weathers, the engine tend to get heated very quickly, so it needs more supply of coolant to it. If the water pump fails to supply more coolant to the engine then the engine would overheated easily.
  Worn bearings
   Worn gaskets
  Corrosion in the water pump
Common symptoms of water pump failure
If your water pump in your car is messed up then you will get various symptoms of it. You have to diagnose the water pump or else your car would be in great trouble. So you need to look for the symptoms to know if your water pump needs to be diagnosed or not.
Leaking coolant
You see fluid, mostly of green color or sometimes of red color under the center front region of your car, then your water pump might be leaking coolant. The water pump consists of many gaskets which can lead to leakage of the coolant when damaged or worn. Leaking of coolant from the water pump cannot maintain the pressure of the coolant and a lot of coolant can get lost from the cooling system of the car when the pump runs.
Winning noise
A high pitched harmonic noise comes out from the front part of the car is a good sign of bad water pump. It is a whining noise of high pitch. It is produced from the pulley of the pump when it rotates if it has the problems in its bearing or it is not properly installed. Whining noise from the front is a good sign of failing water pump. Failing of the bearings or the whole pulley cannot make the water pump to operate well.
Rusts in water pump
Corrosion at the impeller and the pressure plugs can make the water pump faulty. The rusts can damage the other parts in the cooling system. Rusts can make the water pump ineffective.
Engine getting overheated
When the engine gets overheated, it’s mainly because of the low coolant in the engine. Low pressure of the coolant cannot stop the overheating of the engine. This is due to the faulty water pump. You will see the temperature gauge of the engine is rising to the red zone.
Steam from the hood
If there is steam coming from the hood when the hood is lifted, then know that the engine is overheating and there is some problem in the coolant system, mostly in the water pump. A faulty water pump cannot make the proper flow of coolant to the engine due to which the engine would be overheated.
Holes on the water pump
At the coolant inlet of the water pump, the bubbles in the coolant is formed which implode and lead to holes in the water pump. Even at the dry side of the water pump, the holes are seen that make the problem in the operation of the water pump. By inspecting the dry side, you can get this sign.
Conclusion
If you have problem in the water pump, you get the signs of it, then take your car to the auto repair center for any repairs or replacement of the water pump.
