At #SDCC 2024, #ScottShaw, co-creator of #CaptainCarrot, strongly criticized #ToddMcFarlane's action figure design for the character.

He claimed that the design deviated from the original and expressed frustration over not receiving any royalties or product samples. Shaw, who holds a 10% ownership stake in Captain Carrot, has long-standing contractual rights to royalties on non-comic merchandise, which he says #WarnerBros. has ignored.

Tony Isabella, co-creator of Black Lightning, shares his discontent. He also claims unpaid royalties for his character's McFarlane figure. Shaw's grievances add to the ongoing debate about creators' rights in the comic industry, especially as classic characters are reintroduced in new media.

Oh, and to give credit where it's long due, @jay_sneed who's been helping me with research and brainstorming made a note to me that the universe where #captaincarrot and #thezoocrew live in is #EarthC and Supersquirrel and the #justalottaanimals exist in is Earth C-*(minus). So the title for these #bombshells should be #ecminusbombshells, and that EC comics is another publisher best known for the Tales from the Crypt.
