Finally, here's part 3 of the CN City art!
As I promised last time, I'm posting this last piece today to commemorate a very special occasion - my 25th Birthday THE 1 YEAR ANNIVERSARY OF CN AKUMAS' COMPLETION!
These drawings were really fun to make. I'm totally planning on doing some more in the future. Gotta rep more CN shows, after all. :D Maybe I'll make ones for the seasonal events or sth. I'll think about it.
"This is Cartoon Network."
Last, but not least, here's, again, the full renders of the characters in the piece. :D

Comship Bracket 2!
Antis DNI
Do you have certain ships that may fall under the category of "Comship" that you'd like to see fight against other ships, seeing which is the most popular of all on tumblr? Well, I may have just the thing for you!
This bracket works similar to most brackets, but rather than sending in one character, you'll send in a ship and let me know which characters the ship is between, which franchise the characters are from, why it falls under "comship" for you, and a little bit of propaganda for the ships!
While we want all participants of this bracket to be kind to each other and to not put down any of our ships, we know how some tumblr users can be. I would advise not looking at some notes if you can't handle the way certain individuals may talk about these ships. Block and report is the easiest way to deal with those that are cruel.
Now! Some Character guidelines:
Characters MUST be fictional in their entirety, this means no character depictions of real people (so no DSMP ships, no YouTuber ships, etc.)
Your ship MUST count as a Comship in some manner, whether that's through age gap, relation, species, etc. It's important we keep this bracket a comship bracket.
Unfortunately, no crossover ships. Characters MUST be from the same franchise, but not necessarily the same series. (Examples Yoko Sakaki x Mokuba Kaiba from Yu-Gi-Oh! Arc V and DM would be permitted, but Yoko Sakaki x Ash Ketchum from Yu-Gi-Oh! and Pokémon would not.)
There is ONE exception to this! If your characters have canonically interacted in official crossover media, you are permitted to send in the ship as their crossover media versions. (Examples Blossom Utonium from Powerpuff Girls x Captain Stickybeard from KND would be permitted, due to the Cartoon Network Fusionfall game. As would Fischl from Genshin Impact x Sirin from Honkai Impact 3rd, as Fischl appears in Honkai Impact 3rd. Noncanonical crossovers such as Hal Jordan x Ben Tennyson due to Death Battle will not be counted as legitimate submissions.)
You can submit as many times as you like, but you may only submit each ship one time.
Due to Polymatsu winning it's same-source tiebreaker last round, Polyamorous ships are fully permitted, as long as you can provide a valid source image.
Yae Miko x Diona Kätzlein is a guaranteed entry because it's my blog and I do what I want.

FusionFall Headcanons: Stickybeard
Although some Fusion Fighters treat him with a wary eye, Stickybeard’s one of the few villains that actually managed to win people over at large. For a pirate that’s stolen candy from so many kids, he’s got a winning personality that’s easy to rally behind--and it’s attracted soldiers of all ages to follow under his leadership.
As revealed in “Operation L.I.C.O.R.I.C.E,” Stickybeard was formally known as Stickyfuzz, working as a cabin boy for Captain Black John well before rising to lead a crew of his own. This, combined with his willingness to accept young pirates among his numbers--such as his attempts to convince Numbuh 5 to join him as his first mate--leads me to believe that he was likely a candy pirate from a very young age himself.
His fights with the KND aren’t personal, and he doesn’t actually have an issue with kids in the same way other KND villains do. (If anything, he can behave very much like a kid himself at times.) He only targets them for their own large stores of candy, as a rather standard, but very successful thief. If he has an issue with the KND, it’s simply because their in the way of his plunders. At times, he will even help kids--albeit by his own, skewed sense of morality/honor.
Despite the respect he gets from other KND villains, he’s a bit of an odd-one-out. Again, he doesn’t hate kids in the same vein as the others: They’re just his primary targets since they get alot of candy and are the easiest to steal from. (Taking directly from candy stores/factories tends to be a ‘no,’ because then the candy pirates would risk destroying those businesses entirely, effectively draining the overall supply, and having the cops on their tails.) Some of the villains are kind of aware of this, but Stickybeard is so successful that many of them overlook it or simply don’t care: He’s caused enough misery among children that he’s alright in their book. Stickybeard, in turn, is pretty cool with them. He’s always been closest to his crew, but enjoys hanging out with some of the other villains like he’s part of a club. This placement among them and his feelings regarding both them and children can be best seen in “Operation A.F.L.O.A.T,” where he saves Sector V from the Great White Asparagus and gives them candy, but then asks that they keep what happened a secret from the other villains.
He and Knightbrace are lowkey at each other’s throats sometimes, as they’re total opposites regarding sweets. Stickybeard wishes Knightbrace would calm down his hygienic extremes and, if Knightbrace has his way, he would strap Stickybeard to a dental chair and give his teeth in the very least a cleaning to end all others.
He’s been to places like Stormalong Harbor, but dominates the suburbs like Captain Black John before him.
He’s heard of Candied Island, but unlike many who want to go there, his experiences at Red Stalk Isle--knowing the entire crew he was previously a part of turned into licorice monstrosities--has turned him against going after many candy-magic relics/locations/etc. To him, Candied Island sounds a little too good to be true without there being some sort of catch, He’s probably always been more cautious than Captain Black John in that respect.
At the start of the war, Stickybeard wasn’t really in the best place on the inside. Losing his ship hurt and then part of his crew leaving/mutinying against him was worse. He’s not really the sort to get sad though: He turns his feelings into action. He probably would’ve joined the Fusion Fighters eventually anyway, but losing the Sweet Revenge made things personal. If the infection can be dispersed, he wants his ship back.
He’s still got “sticky-fingers,” so you better know how to hide your sweets really well if you’re stationed at Candy Cove--or else bring the junk candy that not even he will touch unless he’s just that desperate. In contrast, he’s not against sharing his own sweets with people who work for him/get on his good side. If you’re a loyal candy pirate yourself, you’re bound to get a share of the bounty.
Hang around him or the other candy pirates long enough and you’ll catch on to a few legends or candy shanties that only they really know about.

Cartoon Comparison: Craig of the Creek
Honestly, I really like the idea behind Craig of the Creek. The idea of kids basically making their own society by the creek is really fun and imaginative, especially when there’s basically a friend group for every hobby and interest. While I’m grown now, it’s not hard to imagine if I’d seen this as a kid, it would have been fun trying to figure out which group of kids I might have hung out with. The tone is really relaxing and cute, but I love the use of unreliable narrators because in some of the best episodes, it creates really great uses of misunderstandings to create two different stories. A perfect example is “Doorway to Helen.” Craig finds his math homework done by a girl who writes in cursive and who he never meets face-to-face. She talks of the creek as always deserted, and has a special place that’s warm when she’s there, but is cold when Craig and his friends go. It’s clear to an adult watching that Helen is homeschooled, and goes to the creek while the other kids are in school, thus why it’s abandoned. But Craig and his friends believe that Helen is in another dimension. So, the story is set up where a child watching likely things the same thing, that Helen lives in another dimension, but can come back to the show years later, and realize Helen never lived in another dimension, she was just homeschooled. That sense of whimsy and innocence, coupled with the idea of playing as whoever you want to be makes Craig of the Creek really smart as a cartoon.
ED, EDD, ‘N’ EDDY
I don’t know how many (if any) of my followers are younger, but if you grew up on Craig of the Creek and want to watch similar shows, one good starting place is Ed, Edd, ‘n’ Eddy, a Cartoon Network cartoon that ran for 6 seasons from 1999 - 2009. The show starred the Eds, three young boys with the same name, Ed, Eddward, and Eddy. Like Craig of the Creek, the Eds are imaginative and creative, building elaborate sets, props, and even entire cities. The tone is different, much more of a whacky slap-stick style that thrives of surreal humor. Adults are rarely seen in the show, making the Cul-de-Sac kids feel like their own society, free from the demands of parents and school. Most of the series takes place in the summer, with the kids going back to school only in the later seasons. The Eds are more antagonistic, as they are constantly trying to scam the other kids out of their allowances, so they frequently get their comeuppance. But it’s still entertaining to see what crazy thing the Eds will try next to get money for candy.
CODENAME: KIDS NEXT DOOR
Whereas Ed, Edd, ‘n’ Eddy matches Craig of the Creek’s carefree days outside of school vibe, KND leans heavily on the society of children angle. It aired on Cartoon Network from 2002 - 2008 for 6 seasons. The comedic action adventure series stars Sector V of the Kids Next Door, a secret organization of child agents who work together to combat the tyranny of adults and the teens who side with them. The show features whimsical inventions like sticking a pepper in a jar, taping it to a hairdryer, and somehow turning it into a heat ray, or turning a bottle of mustard into a gun. If you liked the trading tree or all the side groups and the little societies they made, then KND will likely scratch that same itch, though KND only has the one gimmick as a secret organization of child super spies. Sector V has 5 main characters: Numbuh 1: Nigel Uno, Numbuh 2: Hoagie Gilligan, Numbuh 3: Cookie Sunbun, Numbuh 4: Wallaby Beetle, and Numbuh 5: Abigail Lincoln. Craig of the Creek is very diverse, and similarly, all five of the main characters are the children of immigrants. Numbuh 1 is British-American, Numbuh 2 is German-American, Numbuh 3 is Japanese-American, Numbuh 4 is Australlian-American, and Numbuh 5 is African-American. They have a number of memorable villains, including Mr. Boss, Grandma Stuffem, Captain Stickybeard, The Cat Lady, The Common Cold, Father, and the traitorous Delightful Children From Down the Lane, a group of kids who conspire with the adults and brown nose them for favoritism. Compared to the other two shows, this one has the deepest plot, as Craig of the Creek and Ed, Edd, ‘n’ Eddy are more episodic, while KND has a larger story at play. It’s not as serialized as modern cartoons, but there’s still a progressing story in KND that the other two don’t have.
Likewise, if you’re one of my older followers, and grew up watching Ed, Edd, ‘n’ Eddy or Codename: Kids Next Door, you should give Craig of the Creek a chance, I think you’ll like it. It’s not as absurd as Ed, Edd, ‘n’ Eddy, but it’s just as imaginative, and has a similar spirit to the show’s atittude toward school and parents. It doesn’t focus on one gimmick as much as KND, but it’s also kind of cool seeing all of the unique societies that use the creek as their playing grounds. All three shows are available on HBO Max if this piqued your interest in any of these shows, or you just want to relive a childhood classic.

FusionFall Bases and Outposts Headcanons: Candy Cove
Those of you who’ve been following these posts have probably already seen where I’ve talked about Candy Cove being one of the more secretive outposts for the Fusion Fighters. As such, I may end up repeating a few points, but I’ll go more in-depth on the base itself below:
Though small, the outpost is considered one of the more important locations to the war effort because of its use for secure trade/travel between the city and the suburbs, with access to the ocean and the Cul-De-Sac following the creek. Outside of the felled ship, the Sweet Revenge, the location also remains largely untouched by Fusion Matter with few fusion monsters roaming the area, also making it safer than most other locations as well.
The outpost is split into two zones connected by the creek--the candy pirate camp and the actual cove itself, where the SKWID squad often leads it’s own operations--with sentries stationed in-between them to keep the Candy Buccaneers at bay.
Stickybeard acts as Candy Cove’s commanding officer. Initially, not everyone was thrilled about it--specifically KND members--due to his long history as a villain. However, his previous experience as a captain and his boisterous personality won over many quickly: He really is a good leader and many of those under his command respect him, and he in turn backs his ‘crew.’ He does still occasionally bicker with the SKWID squad, but many of them have even come to respect him over time even if they won’t admit it and stay warry.
The SKWID squad kept away from the camp initially due to their conflict with Stickybeard, but it’s also largely because their operations still focus on issues concerning the ocean/undersea missions, therefore keeping them farther out along the coast. After witnessing how Fuse destroyed many of the waterways in the Darklands, they’re determined not to let him contaminate the ocean on the homefront. They're sometimes helped by the KND’s Deep Sea Science Lab, whose reconstruction was pushed further after the KND lost contact with the Moon Base.
Since the outpost is pretty secure and out of sight from most of Fuse’s army, it’s a good location for trading information and such without letting him pick up on any of the Fusion Fighter’s plans or battle strategies.
To keep it secure and limit unnecessary attention, only a select group of Fusion Fighters are stationed there at any time. It’s pretty much exclusively run by the SKWID squad and candy pirates; however, Stickybeard’s not above pulling favors if someone wants to be stationed there so long as they’re willing to work hard. He’ll hand out missions just to go have people gather up lost candy and in return people can relax at the cove for a while. (While not much goes on, it is pretty peaceful there, so these types of favors end up being handed out more often than not.)
The main requirement for people stationed there is that they can’t really complain about having to “rough it” for a while. As close as Candy Cove is to the suburbs, the outpost’s focus on secrecy means staying put and out of sight. A person could get bored quick and tech is limited only to necessities, so anyone there better really like the beach and camping, because that’s about all they’ll have anything to do with for extended periods of time. Outside of sentry duty, the day-to-day stuff consists of handling trade, undersea research, and relaying secret transmissions. Periods allotted outside of the base are often reserved for deliveries and passing along info in-person--so enjoy them when you can and bring back some snacks and something for the others to do when you return.
Yes, you can bribe Stickybeard easily with candy. The same goes for pretty much everyone else there. Being ‘the snack guy’ we’ll make you an instant favorite at the base.
In an effort to take his ship back, sometimes Stickybeard will assign people to suppress or find a way to remove the Fusion Matter infecting it. Thus far, it’s a failing effort, but it doesn’t seem to be expanding at too extreme a rate to be an immediate danger.

The models and art for the dreaded Peanut Buttercup and Burger Guy Jack as they would have appeared in the Time Squad part 2 update. The designs are strictly texture edits so we wouldn’t have to import new models that would only be seen in this mission line. If importing models were easier, I would have wanted to give Jack a spatula and a hat, and Buttercup might’ve also gotten a pirate captain’s hat.
It was fun to try and figure out a design that would only function as a retexture, and a lot of creative solutions came about because of that limitation, I think. I’m proud of turning Buttercup’s belt pouch into Stickybeard’s chocolate bar
(Buttercup art by Devan, edited from art by Midori Foo)
