Villaneve (Killing Eve)
my friend got me into this show after season 2 aired and i'm so glad he did because i absolutely adore these two!
Miranda and Gary (Miranda)
this is weirdly my most conflicted ship on this list but that's only because i love miranda hart and can't stand tom ellis, but this is still a lovely relationship (despite the ups and downs)
Rose and the Tenth Doctor (Doctor Who)
idc their relationship was just so fun to watch. they have just a great dynamic, whether it's platonic or romantic, although i think we know which is the popular option as bad wolf is literally scattered across the entirety of time and space...

"Why is no one having a good time? I specifically requested it."
Here’s a thing: my husband used to watch a ton of tv, all the time. Always had something on in the background. But then he got sucked into TikTok and his attention span broke, so I’ve been watching most things myself.
He just put together a snack to wind down from his work day, and came back in for a glass of milk. I’m on the couch and as he swished by he said “I just turned on Brooklyn Nine-Nine”, which in and of itself was surprising, only to continue “and remembered he’s dead…” and I let out a wail I’ve been mostly ignoring.
Andre Braugher, I’m so sad that you’re gone. Brooklyn Nine-Nine is one of my absolute favorite comfort shows, and I’m not sure how I’m going to stand it now, for a while. Captain Holt is iconic, you can’t watch that show and not fall in love with him.
And now it’s just…sad.
Nine-Nine is another one of those shows I started watching religiously while it was airing on cable, the entirety of the reason being Andy mother-effing Samberg. I have been in love with him (and the Lonely Island, which we should talk about eventually) since that crazy man joined SNL and so nothing was going to tear me away from his randon sitcom. I came for him, obviously, but I stayed for everyone else.
Including, and mostly, Captain Raymond Holt.
I’m not gonna lie, he might be the most realized, well-defined character on the show. The man has layers. Gay, black cop who finally becomes captain of his own squad. Deadly serious, married to a professor, proud dog dad, lover of rules, hard grudge-holder, extremely literal and blunt, with the weirdest sense of humor.
Most of the best moments of this show involve Holt. There’s an entire scene wherein the squad is put on the night shift and it’s fucking with everyone’s relationships and someone suggests his bad mood is because he needs to bone down with his husband. His reaction has me crying every single time.
He has a dance-off with a kid on the street. He goes undercover as a straight person and does it hilariously. He gets incredibly, heavily, disturbingly invested in the Halloween heist game Jake sets up each year. He creates a ridiculous balloon arch for a wedding and gets deeply attached to it, and is infuriated by the fact that everyone thinks it’s weird as hell. He has the most fantastic arch rival relationship with an old partner, to the point where he plans to deliver a scathing eulogy when she unexpectedly dies. He learns the choreography set to Salt ‘N Peppa’s “Push It” and performs it to distract Amy while she’s giving birth.
It feels like a lot of characters on tv are two-dimensional, but good lord, Holt was in full technicolor, and it’s obvious the reason it works so well is because Andre Braugher was a master of his craft. He WAS Holt, for a lot of people, including me. No one else could have stepped in and created that man.
Throughout the show, Jake treated him like a surrogate dad because his own father (lol at Bradley Whitford in that role) was a dumpster fire, and it was really sweet. He just wanted validation, and acceptance.
In the finale, he tells Jake, "On my first day here, I asked Jeffords to tell me about everyone, He told me you were a great detective, but the one thing you couldn’t figure out was how to grow up. Well, I think you’ve finally figured it out. Over the years, you’ve sometimes referred to me as something of a father figure, but I want you to know, if I had had a son, and he had turned out like you, I would be very proud of him.”
I have a dad of my own, he’s wonderful and I love him and we have a great relationship, but y’all, Holt can be a surrogate dad for me too. He can be one for everyone. He always had a pearl of wisdom and he supported the entire squad in absolutely everything, and he was just an excellent human. Who was FUNNY and multidimensional and just…dope.
He’s one of those perfect characters. And they don’t come along that often. So I guess the point is, thank you, Andre Braugher, for bringing him to life, and giving us the gift that is Captain Raymond Holt. I’m glad we still have him, even if we don’t have you.

so you're a geeky teenager in the early 2010s and you make a tumblr and back then everyone was always going on about supernatural, right?
so you watch supernatural. the last great american queerbait.
(you're not stupid and you're from the reddest part of your red state. the best you dared hope for in the finale was dean and cas alive and some subtle parallels between them and sam and eileen and they couldn't even do that.)
but truthfully, you had learned your lesson long ago, and you had learned it fast:
ship all the queer ships you want, rub your greedy bad bi rep hands over every character you want, but don't expect anything. don't give anyone power over what's canon in your heart.
your belief in this only grows stronger over the years, as you see it happen in fandoms you didn't go to - merlin, teen wolf, so many animated shows)
(not you legend of korra you're an angel and we're lucky to have you)
you saw it happen in ships you could not fucking understand why anyone was shipping in the first place (cough cough johnlock)
you saw it happen in the mcu again and again and wondered why nobody else seemed to learn the lesson.
it's not that there are no shows with queer relationships of course. it's just that most are very upfront about it or leave it vague enough that anyone with heteronormative lenses on doesn't pick up on it. nobody waits 7 seasons to float the idea an assumed-straight character might be bi.
you thought were prepared for star wars. so busy believing they wouldn't do a queer relationship but hey at least the resulting het relationship would be great. and then they did fucking reylo and you realized you can't even bet on the right het ships as you recall disney also wouldn't even follow through on clintasha.
so when you start watching another show tumblr's pretty hype about you don't expect nothing. like the canon relationships are great, and while you enjoy the fandom ships and queer heacanons you don't expect anything else. especially because the show has queer characters and relationships, they aren't afraid to go there they're just choosing not to with certain characters and hey, that's fine.
and then you catch up on the new season and that one supposedly straight dude IS KISSING ANOTHER DUDE WHAT THE FUCK I COULD'VE BEEN BETTING ON THIS THE WHOLE TIME I CAN'T EVEN USE CAPTAIN HOLT VINDICATION GIF BECAUSE I WAS SO SURE THIS WOULDN'T EVER HAPPEN.
#behold: my thoughts#no but seriously WHAT THE FUCK#CHARACTER EXPLORING HIS SEXUALITY LATER IN LIFE?? ON MY TV AND NOT MY AO3??#i need to go lie down

i’m
just going to ramble about my favourite side characters because i’ve been making family trees on the warriors oc wiki for 2 hours and i need to think about something other than code
by side characters i mean like. just not blaze, rooster, or hope
snakestrike (minor supporting character)
he’s a wife guy. his character traits are that he loves his wife and his kids. he has made a band with the other dads in the clan and they terrorise the apprentices + firebreeze with dad jokes. he’s very supportive of his kids but he feels a little sad watching his son be fully trained by slashstar when his brother died before he could get his warrior name. he feels a little distant from blaze, like she’s always trapped in a bubble and he can never quite connect to her, but any worries he has about her are negated by all of the social safety nets thunderclan has set up.
snakestrike often took care of roosterkit and blazekit in the nursery while hopebringer was off doing deputy work, he tries his best to be involved in his childrens' lives. meanwhile he still keeps up his old rivalry with juniperswipe, and he is one of juniperswipes main confidants within his conflict with flintwing. this is a bit of a cause of tension between snakestrike and hopebringer as she is flintwing's closest friend, but theyve agreed not to talk about the issue to each other.
flintwing (minor supporting character)
she was the youngest queen in the nursery, but her kits are older than both hopebringer and acornspots'. as an apprentice she fell hard for the slightly older juniperpaw, and she spent a lot of time trying to get him to go out with her. once they were warriors they became mates. flintwing uh felt really disconnected from her siblings. wolfclaw and owlflight were both hailed as the clans best fighters, flintwing not so much. she felt like a failure compared to them, and rushed into having kits to prove something to the clan.
now that tigereye and willowshade are both warriors, her marriage has been a rocky, with her and juniperswipe constantly finding themselves disagreeing over everything. flintwing tells her issues to her siblings and friends, but they can provide little advice and flintwing fears that she and juniperswipe will split up.
slashstar (major supporting character)
he was born during the start of the thunder-shadow war. his parents were a shadowclan warrior and a thunderclan warrior. their relationship caused the war to escalate, and both sides argued for days about what to do with slashkit and his brother hollykit. they spent a few weeks being passed around both camps, until it was agreed that one kit would stay in one clan. slashkit was given to thunderclan, and was mentored by the leader’s daughter as a way of keeping an extra eye on him. slashclaw was a model apprentice and warrior, never showing any signs of disloyalty or conflict towards shadowclan, even if he internally missed hollysnarl a lot.
slashclaw moved up the ranks quickly, meeting and falling in love with a former barn cat, firebreeze. (i imagine their relationship to be similar to that of captain holt and kevin from b99) and he was happy to be entrusted with his first apprentice, stagpaw. at the same time firebreeze was given hopepaw as his first apprentice. they would often train together and slashclaw was happy despite the still ongoing war.
about 3 months into the apprenticeship, a patrol slashclaw and stagpaw were in got into a battle with a shadowclan patrol. stagpaw was killed by the shadowclan leaders son, gingerthroat. while slashclaw was trying to get his body away from the battle, gingerthroat went after slashclaw. both were heavily injured, slashclaw leaving the battle without an apprentice and an eye. gingerthroat died from infection of his battle wounds days after. slashclaw was deeply depressed after stagpaw died, and his death continued to affect slashclaw years into the future.
almost two years later, slashclaw stepped up as a foster father for eaglekit, who had been abandoned by her shadowclan father and windclan mother. they were close when she was a kit, but when he was her mentor he doubted his own skills so much that he was incapable of mentoring her, too caught up in how his last apprenticeship ended. he ended up burning his bridge with her, and they don’t even talk anymore, despite eaglesight technically being a part of his family.
tigerdapple retired, and eaglesights recent graduation made him eligible for deputy. to his surprise, bravestar chose him as the new deputy, and he found out later that hollysnarl had been chosen as shadowclan deputy after the death of the old one. slashstar felt like he didn’t deserve it, but accepted the position regardless. bravestar died soon after and slashstar was finally able to negotiate peace between thunderclan and shadowclan. hollysnarl also became leader of shadowclan not long after.
when snakestrike and hopebringer had kits, slashstar already made his mind up on mentoring one of their kits. roosterkit was the spitting image of snakestrike, but slashstar could pick out little pieces that looked like stagpaw. he saw it as a second chance. slashstar was favouring and overprotective of roosterpaw, unnecessarily praising him and touting that roosterpaw would be the best warrior of his generation. an observation not entirely untrue, as roosterpaw showed promise, but not appreciated by the other apprentices.

I did think of another example but not the one I was originally scanning my brain for.
Andre Braugher as Captain Holt.
A traditionally trained actor who isn't funny on their own, but when given a good script, they can elevate it to hilarity. They are not a comedian and do not improvise.
That's the best I can describe them.
I wish I didn't have face forgetfulness so I could give some physical traits.
Some people have face blindness, but I feel like I have something a little different. So I call it face forgetfulness.
The face of everyone slowly fades over time until I can't picture them at all. Like a reverse polaroid. Even happens to my close friends. If I don't refresh my brain with a picture every couple of days I can't picture them in my head and it kind of freaks me out. It's extra annoying on Instagram. Because I will follow an actor or actress I like on a show and then forget what they look like and they'll show up in my feed and I'll be all... "Who the heck is this?" Without the context of the show and their character, I can't place them.
I keep trying to think of an actor. He's typically a comedic actor. And a very good one. But when you see him in interviews he isn't really funny and is a bit shy and serious. I wanted to say how impressed I was when actors are able to play roles with a completely different energy than how they are in real life and I wanted to use him as an example but I can't remember who the heck I am thinking of.

very few characters actually have adhd in media, and when they do, what people mean by that is just that they fidget a lot, not that they have adhd. the only character with adhd I can think of where I’ve watched/read it and I’ve gone, “oh, this character actually has adhd” is Jake peralta from Brooklyn 99. so, here’s my take on how to write adhd, with examples from Brooklyn 99.
I’ll do the best I can to separate them into three categories; the three things people look for in adults with ADHD, which are rejection sensitivity dysphoria, an interest-based nervous system, and emotional hyperarousal.
I’ll also randomly bold and italicize bits so people with ADHD can actually read it.
Rejection Sensitivity Dysphoria, or RSD
Rejection sensitivity dysphoria makes people with ADHD overly sensitive to criticism, even if they perceive a rejection and there actually isn’t one. Their emotions are also very strong generally. Because of RSD, people with ADHD become people-pleasers and can develop anxiety because they’re so eager to please.
For me, RSD makes me cry an embarrassing amount for any little reason. in your writing, make your characters overdramatic, criers, and/or people-pleasers. They’ll have trouble saying no. They may also be over competitive, as their perceived rejection may include losing.
how does Jake show this in b99? When Jake comes up with a catchphrase and Rosa says it’s terrible, jake is far more hurt than he should be. He hates losing, and he gets overly upset whenever someone says they don’t like him or don’t trust him, etc. he’s also a people pleaser who has trouble saying no.
An interest-based nervous system
An interest-based nervous system includes hyperfocuses and an inability to pay attention. It stems from the fact that we can’t make as much dopamine as neurotypicals. This means that while neurotypicals get dopamine after completing a task, people with ADHD don’t. That means that people with ADHD don’t have any reason to do tasks, especially those they don’t like. This leads to executive dysfunction—people with ADHD will know they have to or want to do something, but they can’t seem to do it. people with ADHD hyperfocus on things that bring them dopamine. I was obsessed with warrior cats for three years. But hyperfocuses can also last a short amount of time—I’ll have a drawing idea in the middle of class and won’t be able to concentrate on anything else before I finish it. this is where our impulsiveness comes from. we can leap into things we think will give us dopamine without thinking, which can lead to injury. We also tend to tell people personal things they don’t want to hear because of this, and don’t have very good boundaries. We sometimes say whatever comes into our head, which can also result in us being rude on accident. Our voices can also get very loud or we can interrupt people frequently because we’re so impulsive. When people with ADHD hyperfocus, they can forget about anything else. I’ll forget to eat if I’m busy reading a Wikipedia article about feminism in the 1850s, and won’t go to the bathroom or drink water either. It’s also important to note that taking away distractions doesn’t help, because we can do things like pick at our skin and daydream—something that people with ADHD do a lot of. Because of executive dysfunction, people can call people with ADHD lazy or irresponsible.
people with ADHD can also be extremely indecisive because ADHD affects our executive functioning, and making decisions requires planning and prioritizing, and task initiation, which are both executive functions!
people with ADHD also have poor memory for important things, but tend to remember random bits of trivia. Poor memory leads to object permanence problems, which means people with ADHD can forget to call a friend back for weeks, forget that they need to read library books in a closed cabinet, or forget that the vegetables they got will go bad. People can sometimes say that people with ADHD don’t care about anything because of this.
people with ADHD can also be prone to depression because of under or overstimulation. Boredom feels painful for people with ADHD. If we’re overstimulated, we can experience sensory overload—if things are too bright or too loud, if too many things are touching us at once—often it’s not because the thing is too intense, but because too many things are happening at once.
We also have something some people call dolphin brain, where we jump from one thing to another. From the outside, it looks really random, but I find that when I’m talking to another neurodivergent communication is generally easier. For instance, someone with ADHD might see a bee at a baseball field and tell their team about the time they saw whales at seaworld because their little brother was also stung by a wasp there. people will see no connection on the outside, but it makes perfect sense to the person with ADHD.
people with ADHD can also be overachievers, either because they hyperfocus on schoolwork or their RSD makes it so that failing at something isn’t an option. people with ADHD can also be very controlling and stubborn, probably because we hyperfocus on something and cant handle it being any different, and any change to our plans can be seen as rejection.
we can also have a hard time ordering our thoughts or doing stuff like math in our head. a lot of the time I number my thoughts like, 1. this reason, 2. this reason, etc. even if theres only two or sometimes I just need the 1. as a transition for my brain. when I don’t write it down or organize it like that it feels like I’m trying to grasp ropes that have been covered in oil (it’s not going to happen) and then my brain gets all jumbled and I have to restart at the beginning. this is probably just me, but it feels the same way when I’m reading long paragraphs of something uninteresting, or even short bits of historical documents because the way they phrase things is really pompous and hard to process.
also, stuff like caffeine calms us down and helps us focus. people who don’t take medication (me) often drink coffee or caffeinated sodas to focus.
another random tip, but if your character with ADHD also is genderfluid or genderflux, they might have a hard time figuring out their gender sometimes, because we can be known to have a hard time putting our feelings into words or our brains will just go, “nope, not thinking about that right now” and move on, which can be pretty frustrating.
people with adhd also have a trait called time blindness, where we have no idea how long something takes and therefore can’t manage our time very well. this often results in us being late or just sitting around the house because we got ready way too early.
we also have something called consequence blindness—we do things and are completely unaware of the consequences. if I don’t brush my teeth, I get cavities. but I don’t think about that when I’m deciding I’m too tired to brush my teeth.
in b99, jake regularly stays up all night solving cases and watches documentaries on random topics. He’s also very distractible—when they’re trying to find the person who sent Captain Holt death threats in the train yard, Jake says he and captain holt should take a train trip together sometime. Jake says that he’ll forget Amy if they don't work together because he’s like a goldfish.
Emotional hyperarousal
This is the only thing people tend to include when writing characters: the fidgeting. People with ADHD tend to need more stimulation than others, so we’ll do things like draw during class and chew on pens.
people with ADHD can also have apd, or auditory processing disorder. we tend to watch shows with subtitles on and may take a second to process what you’re saying, or hear it wrong. The subtitles thing may be partially do to creating just the right amount of stimulation, but if I don’t have subtitles, me and my other friends with ADHD will watch tv with the volume turned up very high. People with ADHD also can have a hard time interpreting other people‘s tone and have a hard time controlling their own. They can be bad at social cues and have poor manners because we don’t pick up on that stuff.
people with ADHD also tend to observe everything or nothing at any given time, mostly based on the amount of stimulation they have—if they dont have a lot in their main task, they’ll need to take in something else at the same time. Likewise, if I’m hyperfocusing on something I often don’t notice anything else, like if someone asks me a question.
in b99, Jake fidgets with things a lot. In the intro, he’s picking up and examining a figurine on his desk, likely because he was bored with paperwork or some other task.

Lockdown
Requested by: Anonymous
Pairing: Jake x reader
Genre: Fluff
Characters: Jake, Y/N, Charles, Captain Holt, Terry
Words: 1180
A/N: Based on Season 2, Episode 7.
Description: When the precinct goes into Lockdown, Jake and Y/N find themselves locked in a room together.
The whole precinct gathered around the desk that was currently occupied by a mysterious package that had arrived just mere seconds ago. Whispers and mutters travelled around the room as everyone wondered what it could be. The group parted away when Captain Holt walked came to investigate.
He bent forward and peered at the package, studying it. “It seems that the precinct needs to be locked down.” The whole room emerged into an uproar as loud protests and shouts echoed along the walls.
A loud whistle was blew and the station came to a standstill. Everybody turned to the sounds direction, which was emitted from Terry. “Everybody needs to calm down. This is for everybody’s safety. Now, we all need to find somewhere comfortable to sit for the next few hours.”
Groans and mutters were heard as everybody knew that Terry was right. You looked around the room and spotted Jake sitting at his desk, lying back with his eyes closed without a care in the world. A smile sprung onto your face as an idea popped into your head.
Sneakily, you made your way over to him; putting a finger to your lips when you passed Charles’s desk. You moved your arms midway in the air and proceeded to scare Jake. “I know your there, Y/N. I’m not known as an amazing detective/genius for nothing, you know.”
He opened his eyes and looked up at you, a cheeky smile on his lips. “Seriously! How did you even know?! I was quiet the whole time.” Jake sat up and swivelled his chair around to face you. “Yes, that is all true, but your forgetting one thing; your perfume. I smelt it as soon as you walked past me.”
“Godammit!” You stomped away, unaware of Jake looking after you. “You have a crush on them, you know? The way you look at them, it’s as if you’re in love.” Jake stood up from his chair and shook his head at Charles. “No, I don’t. It’s just bants, nothing more.”
Jake began to walk away, unaware he was taking the same steps you had mere moments ago. “Oh yeah, then why are you following them?” “I’m not. I’m getting something from the vending machine.” Charles chuckled at Jake’s defensiveness, knowing full well that his best friend was in denial.
Jake stood in front of the vending machine, a whirl of different thoughts running through his head, when he head a loud crash come from the storage room behind him. He raised an eyebrow and went to investigate, bursting into laughter at the scene in front of him.
“What the hell are you laughing at, dipshit?! Come and help me up, but don’t let that door close. There’s no handle on the inside.” Jake walked inside, accidentally kicking the boxes that were holding the door open, causing it to swing shut. Your eyes widened with frustration. “Jake Peralta! You are a complete dumbass!”
After helping you up, the both of you banged on the door for what seemed like hours, your voices becoming a little hoarse due to all the shouting for help. You slid down the wall and put your head in your hands, heaving a heavy sigh. “How did I manage to get stuck in a room with the most annoying person on the planet?”
Jake slid down to the floor aswell, hugging his arms around his knees. “I think I should be the one asking that question.” You lifted your head up and gave him a death glare, causing Jake to let out a chuckle.
You both sat in silence for a while. Jakes mind began to wander, going back to what Charles had said to him. A longing feeling grew in the pit of his stomach which he tried to push away. “I can’t be in love with them.” All of a sudden, every prank, every touch, every smile that the both of you had shared over the years finally made sense to him. He had never noticed before but he always seemed to focus on you, for everything. He always wanted to be partnered with you, needing to be close to you.
As this realisation dawned on him, Jake could feel an anxious pit growing in the bottom of his stomach. He needed to tell you how he felt whilst it was just the two of you, without any nosy Charles’s poking around. Jake shuffled closer towards you.
You looked over at Jake, who had moved closer to you. You had expected to want to move away, considering how much he got on your nerves, but you found that you wanted to be closer to him, to feel his warm hand around yours.
Jake looked down at his hands, which he was wringing nervously. He took a deep breath and turned to face you, taking your hands in his. “Y/N, I need to tell you something. Something that I have only just realised.” You nodded in an encouragement for him to keep going.
Taking another deep breath, he continued. “I don’t know how you’re going to react when I tell you this, but I do know that I have to. I’ve always wondered why I always centred my pranks on you, why I always want us to be teamed up together for a case. I finally realised a few moments ago that it’s because I love you. I have done since you first started at the precinct.”
Jake looked down at the floor, clearly shy of admitting his feelings to you. Unwrapping your hand from his, you tilted his chin up and your eyes locked together. The both of you leaned toward each other, slowly and without ever breaking eye contact. Closing you eyes, you softly pressed your lips against his, letting the feeling of his kiss wash over you.
He immediately kissed you back, moving his hand to the bottom of your back. Jake pulled you flush against his chest needing, no wanting, more of you. You lifted your legs up and settled in his lap, wrapping your arms around his neck. His hands travelled underneath your shirt, spreading wide against your skin. Your fingers nipped at the hairs at the bottom of his neck, causing a low growl to emit from his mouth.
You pulled away and cocked an eyebrow at him. “What? I like somebody who can take control.” You shook your head at him and leaned down for another kiss when the door opened and the both of you fell out in each others arms.
“Guys! I’ve found him!” Jake looked up and groaned as Charles was stood over you. “Charles, dude. Seriously!” He gestured to you laying on top of him, a slight red tinge emerging onto your cheeks.
“Sorry, Jake. You’ve been gone for a while and I got worried.” Jake stood up from the floor and held out a hand for you to take, which you gratefully accepted. Jake wrapped his arm around your shoulders and pressed a kiss to your temple before walking past Charles.
Charles’s eyes widened in realisation. “I told you Jake. I told you you were in love with them!”

what do you think some of the b99 characters opinions on glee would be???
jake peralta - it would be his guilty pleasure. he would secretly adore the show but would never be caught dead watching it publicly. he’d care most about blaine and quinn and would empathize w them most due to their issues with their dads. every burt and kurt scene would make him cry. he would also die hearing santana hear mine given that he's a canon swiftie :)
charles boyle - he is canonically a gleek!! he likes sam enough to remember who chord overstreet is, 5 years after glee ended, and I think it's bc sam reminds him of jake <3
rosa diaz - rosa has never heard of glee, but her alternate personality emily goldfinch - the super chatty and smiley one - loves the show and chats about it to her book club friends. rosa is a diehard santana/quinntana stan.
terry jeffords - terry would unironically love that shit. he loves all the characters, has all the songs memorized and ships all the couples hardcore - especially klaine and brittana. once his daughters are a little older, he watches it with them.
captain holt - holt doesn't seem like the type of person to enjoy a show like glee, but I do think that he would really like kurt. he would be really impressed by kurt's storyline in s1-2 and would feel angry about everything the show put him through later on. he would also enjoy santana's coming out arc, but wouldn't be too interested in either klaine or brittana. still, he'd be happy that the show ended with both major gay couples getting married.
amy santiago - her favorite character would probably be mercedes, and I believe she'd like rachel for her ambition and type-a personality. she would be torn on santana bc on one hand, she would love that glee depicted a strong latina woman, but on the other hand she's not a fan of santana's meanness. she's generally not a fan of any of the other 'bully' characters. she would also think that tina deserved better.
gina linetti - she would be an UHT and mike stan and would hate almost everything else. 'the UHT carried the show' is her motto and she'd spend her time making snarky comments whenever anyone else, particularly schue or rachel, is onscreen.
hitchcock & scully - they would discover the show by accident and would end up watching it out of curiosity. they don't have any favorite characters bc they're too lazy to follow along with any of the storylines, and scully just loves it for the singing. hitchcock, being the devoted husband best friend that he is, would try his best to score scully an audition for the show, but he fails bc he ends up on scam sites every time.
#ty anon!! this was really fun 🥰#if anyone else wants to send in any b99/glee asks then please do <3#evelyn answers stuff

Are there any literary comparisons you would make to ASOIAF or ASOIAF characters?
Under the cut.
I don't want to deny that I write in fantasy, I think I obviously do. There's magic and there's dragons and swords, and all the traditional trappings of fantasy here. But I've also written in other genres in the past, a lot of science fiction, horror, and books that are strange hybrids of all of these things.
I've always agreed with William Faulkner—he said that the human heart in conflict with itself is the only thing worth writing about. I've always taken that as my guiding principle, and the rest is just set dressing. I mean, you can have a dragon, you can have a science fiction story set on a distant planet with aliens and starships, you can have a western about a gunslinger, or a mystery novel about a private eye, or even literary fiction—and ultimately you're still writing about the human heart in conflict with itself. So that's the way I try to approach this thing. And while I may work within a genre, I've never liked to be bound by them. I have a lot of fun in frustrating genre expectations, using a bit of this or a bit of that, and doing something that hasn't been done before. - GRRM
“Dwelling where I am now, deep in the heart of Westeros, I find myself surrounded by my characters, the children of my mind and heart and soul. They are real to me, as I write them, and I struggle to make them real to my readers as well. All of them are flawed, from the best to the worst. They do heroic things, they do selfish things. Some are strong and some are weak, some smart and some stupid. The smartest may do stupid things. The bravest may have moments when their courage fails. Great harms may be done from the noblest motives, great good from motives vile and venal. Life is like that, and art should reflect that, if it is to remain true. Ours is a world of contradiction and unintended consequences. Boromir is my favorite member of the Fellowship. The tragic hero. Shakespeare’s Brutus speaks to me as well (more so than the real one); the noblest Roman of them all, whose nobility — and gullibility — lead him to commit a vile crime. Captain Ahab, Wolf Larsen, Gatsby, Falstaff and Hotspur and Prince Hal (those plays are full of flawed characters, each with his own failings), Ebeneezer Scrooge and Sydney Carton, Gully Foyle, Roger’s Sam, Dr. Doom and Dr. Jekyll and Dr. Moreau, Morbius of Altair IV, Huckleberry Finn, Sir Lancelot and Sir Gawain (but not Sir Galahad, so perfect, so empty) and Guinevere and Arthur and even Mordred, that little shit.. oh, the list is long. And when my reading turns to history, biography, memoirs, my response is much the same.” - GRRM
Tommy’s me . . . but no more than all the others. Robb is me in "Song for Lya," as Dirk is me in Dying of the Light . . . though Arkin Ruark and Jaan Antony in that one are both me as well. Abner Marsh is me, as his proud sidewheeler Fevre Dream is the excursion boat to Far Rockaway, only the passengers drink blood instead of Kool-Aid. Sandy Blair is J-school me, Peter Norten is chess club me, Kenny Dorchester is me trying to lose weight. Holt in "The Stone City," he’s the kid lying in the grass, staring up at distant stars. Trager is me on a dark night of the soul, bleeding poison from three wounds named Josie, Laurel, Rita. Jon Snow has me in him, and Sam Tarly. The women too, Lyanna and Shaara, and the girls, Arya and Adara . . . Daenerys Stormborn, searching for that house with the red door. And Tyrion Lannister? Oh, yes. The Imp is me in spades, the horny little bastard - GRRM
Tyrion is the character I’ve always had the easiest time writing. Maybe that’s the character I wish I could be, in a sense, despite all of his drawbacks. But of course I’m obviously not Tyrion. Tyrion has a wonderful wit to him, and he throws off witticisms every moment that take me weeks to come up with. I have to rewrite them four times, before I get the line just right. In real life, I’m always the guy thinking, “Ah! That’s what I should have said!” But I only think of it three weeks later. - GRRM
The character I’m probably most like in real life is Samwell Tarly. Good old Sam. And the character I’d want to be? Well who wouldn’t want to be Jon Snow — the brooding, Byronic, romantic hero whom all the girls love. Theon [Greyjoy] is the one I’d fear becoming. Theon wants to be Jon Snow, but he can’t do it. He keeps making the wrong decisions. He keeps giving into to his own selfish, worst impulses. - GRRM
Ultimately I think GRRM explores a lot of common literary themes in his books - Good Vs Evil, Morality, Selfish Love Vs The greater good, War and it's effects, Heroes being the Villains of the other side, Coming of age etc. He borrows from a lot of early fantasy, science fiction and super hero comics and then puts his own twist on the story. Fevre Dream for example deals with vampires and yet tackles some of the same themes, like moral ambiguity, as ASoIaF.
As a political epic I can compare it to having some of the themes of the Mahabharata (Though the Mahabharata is on a grander, more vast and complex scale) in terms of dysfunctional families, betrayal, war, good and evil, love and duty and all that. I can compare Jon and Theon's identity issues with the character of Karna in the Mahabharata. Arya has been compared to Odysseus with the themes of longing for home and homecoming and I can certainly see that. I can see similarities to other works of fantasy/science fiction in the world building and plot - Wheel of Time, Dune, LOTR and Memory, Sorrow and Thorn.
In the quotes above, GRRM mentions the tragic heroes and flawed characters he loves - no doubt there are versions of all of them in the books.
To make a literary comparison for ex, Tyrion, in my opinion, comes closest to Sydney Carton. GRRM has notably compared Tyrion to Richard III and if you look at quite a few of GRRM's books, the main character is similar to Tyrion in terms of appearance, wit and attitude. It's clear that GRRM just loves writing for Tyrion, that he loves everything about this character archetype and that this type of character has a lot of GRRM himself in them.
And no doubt GRRM loves using imagery, metaphors or symbolism in certain instances. However, a lot of the time it doesn't go deeper than that in my opinion. Daenerys being served honeyed locusts is not GRRM making some biblical commentary. Rather it's a way to highlight the exotic nature of the place.
To take the topic of Medusa for ex. The imagery is certainly there with Sansa's hairnet, the medusa imagery in the prophecy with the purple serpents etc. However, I personally think there is nothing more to this than that. I doubt GRRM is borrowing from Medusa for the themes in Sansa's story.
I tend to embrace the Medusa symbolism of feminist rage. Medusa is Cersei being punished by the Walk of Shame for having sex with men after Robert's death. It's the Madonna-Whore complex propaganda against Daenerys.
They say her lust cannot be sated, that she mates with men, women, eunuchs, even dogs and children, and woe betide the lover who fails to satisfy her. She gives her body to men to take their souls in thrall.
It's embracing the monster, seeing the monster as a protector, empowered with justified rage towards those who oppress women. That's not Sansa for me. That's Daenerys and Arya.
And I honestly don't think GRRM is writing any of that or digging any deeper with these themes. At the end of the day, we can enjoy the story for what it is without the need for literary comparisons.
I find the Winterfell plot in ADwD to be really interesting. There's elements of horror and trauma - everything that happens to Jeyne Poole and Theon. There's political intrigue with the Boltons, Freys Manderly, Barbrey and other houses. There's mystery - who is the hooded guy Theon meets. There's a thriller - Die Hard in Winterfell- with disguised Mance and Spearwives secretly running around killing Bolton men in a mission to rescue fArya. There's the setting - Snow and cold and winds and magic. There's several themes in there with an entertaining story told on it's own with any need for deeper literary analysis.
So yeah, I decided to put in GRRM's quotes in there so you can get an idea of the literary comparisons the author himself is possibly using in these books.

Thoughts on B99 season 8 and the finale....
So I must admit, I have been putting off watching the finale as part of being in denial that the show has ended and there are no more new episodes to come. And just like Terry, I was not in denial of being in denial. But I finally pulled the trigger and watched the final two episodes and I do have a lot of thoughts about it and the final season.
Firstly, about season 8 has a whole. I will begrudgingly admit that this might be the weakest season of the show, and a large part of it being due to circumstances surrounding the show. Now weakest does not mean it was a bad season. Weakest seasons of B99 is better than 99% of other shows, pun intended, but I think this season struggled a little dealing with the seriousness of the policing storyline but still trying to find humor, combined with the short episode order, and trying to find appropriate endings for the characters. Its a valiant effort and the season is still enjoyable but I don't think it was completely successful at juggling everything.
The fundamental problem with the policing storyline that it is inherently serious and that clashes with the tone of the show. There was a sense of tonal whiplash throughout the season as a result. It was a bit of a problem when a show as progressive as B99 but also a show that is inherently about good cops trying to do good in their community has to try and appeal to a fanbase that considers policing fundamentally as corrupt. Its a tough line to ride and while the show does try, I can't say it completely worked for me. The premiere was arguably the most uncomfortable episode to watch because of the subject matter and the show was very brave to do that and also later in the season when the show put its lead character as Jake as the person in the wrong in a policing matter. But because of the severity of what is happening in these episodes, its tough to find them very funny even though there are hilarious moments in these episodes. Holt getting huffy was great. But in the end, these aren't episodes that I necessarily feel like revisiting. Also, because the issue of policing is big, it had to be done over the course of the season. Which meant 4 out of 10 episodes were relatively serious. I think Blue Flu is the best episode of the bunch in the storyline as it managed to give us a heartfelt storyline with Jake and Boyle as well as do a good job giving Holt a showcase against McGinley's O'Sullivan, who was an excellent antagonist. I felt the resolution of the storyline was a little too pat and convenient. I know they mentioned that O'Sullivan was re-elected for life but they also made it seem like their proposal could change the NYPD which seems like a very tv thing. I also admittedly rolled my eyes that Amy got promoted from Sergeant of Uniformed officers to being a Chief. No way do I buy that type of promotion. That's like a 5 rank promotion I believe. And if its possible, it kind of felt like uncomfortable favoritism on Holt's part.
The best episodes of the season were the episodes in between the policing storyline, because they were lighthearted and fun and played to the strength of the show. However, the airing schedule also kind of worked against it. The tonal whiplash was very evident because we would get one fairly serious episode coupled with one lighthearted episode back to back and it did feel weird while watching it. I feel like if this was like a 15 episode season and the policing storyline was a bit more spaced out, it wouldn't have felt so weird tonally. I loved Balancing, because of the realistic portrayal of how parenting can be. I also really loved PB&J. I know people have varying opinions on the Pontiac Bandit but I really loved how sweetly sentimental the episode ended up by the end. I also liked that Boyle got to be a part of the episode because I always wanted a Jake, Judy, and Boyle episode. I think the way the season executed the Holt and Kevin storyline was exquisite. I was initially not sure why they went about the route of spitting them up but they did an incredible job at their reunion storyline. The Lake House was a hilarious start. I love that the show came through on the commitment of their vow renewal from like season 2 I believe. Holt and Kevin got the vow renewal, the romantic kiss in the rain. It was wonderful. The season had some strong peraltiago moments, specifically in Balancing and in the finale.
The one episode I was a little meh about was Game of Boyles. I really don't think in a final season which already was so short that we needed an episode about Boyle not being a blood Boyle. It wasn't even a particularly big showcase for Joe and Charles' weird habits. The highlight of the episode was the big Holt and Kevin reunion but the episode was otherwise a bit flat. I think because of the fact that the episode order was so short, a few of the characters seemed genuinely wasted. I believe Stephanie Beatriz was pregnant throughout the shooting. With Covid, maybe it was part of the deal for her to be a more minor role but apart from the premiere and the finale, she really isn't used much despite the premiere kind of pitching her as a driving point of this policing storyline which then pivoted mostly to Holt and Amy. Terry was really completely sidelined all season. He's a hilarious side character in some episodes like The Lake House but he didn't really have a single episode where he got to be front and center. Boyle got a few good moments but, like I said, Game of Boyles wasn't even really a big Charles showcase episode. I think his best episode was Blue Flu. The season really felt more lead centric on Jake, Holt, and Amy. Again, I feel this was mainly because of the fact that the policing story took up half the season and there wasn't really enough room in the rest of the season for the others to be showcased. As a result we didn't get any real detective episodes, no Pimento episode, no Vulture return, no return of Jake and Amy's parents etc... all of which could have been fun.
I feel like I have pointed out the issues I had with the season quite a bit, mainly because the show has set such high standards for seasons past. The episodes are still ranging from decent to really good. I don't think there is any episode that comes as an all time B99 classic in this season, but there isn't any real bad episodes either. So its still a solid season, which brings us to the finale.
The finale was fantastic and I loved every aspect of it barring one specific element. I think the showrunners made the right call by knowing what the show is good at and making a true lighthearted romp as the final two episodes. The heist is just too important a tradition for the show not to happen and it feels appropriate that the show ended on a grand heist. The finale did an incredible job incorporating so many guest stars seamlessly. I also loved that Gina got to come back in a substantial role in the finale. Given how big a part she was in the show, it was only right that she was there at the very end. Almost every key relationship got some great moments. Jake and Amy had some heartfelt moments, Amy and Rosa had a lovely moment, Jake and Charles had a great friendship moment. The only relationship I would have liked another scene with is Jake and Rosa, which is probably my favorite male/female friendship on any show. Loved that Terry gets to be Captain, which he deserves. But in the end, the heart of this show has always been the relationship between Holt and Jake. The final scene between them at the precinct is played completely straight and it absolutely brilliant acting from both Andre Braugher and Andy Samberg. It got me really teary and emotional. But wisely, the show ends on an upbeat note which makes you feel good that these people will always be in each other's lives. I also hope they use the notion of a heist to give us a holiday heist special every once in a while. I would love that.
The one element I don't like is Jake resigning and becoming a stay at home dad. Don't get me wrong, there is nothing wrong with being a stay at home Dad or Mom. It just doesn't make sense for me for Jake. I think everybody saw hints that he was going to leave the NYPD, and I was ok with that, and I love the fact that the show used Jake's want to be a father as the basis of his departure because that makes sense for him as a character, but I just don't seem him being happy just as a stay at home dad, no matter how sweet that sentiment is. Andy Samberg doesn't get enough praise with how he sells emotional sincerity, but just two episodes prior, Jake was moaning about how he was incredibly bored during his suspension and how he was desperate for interaction to the point of going to the Boyle house for distraction. On top of that, he admitted to being really bummed that he was unable to catch Franzia himself. It just doesn't seem like he would be happy being away from a life without investigations to keep his mind working. Investigating wasn't just something he did just to earn money, he genuinely loved it. I would have felt better if he said he was going to join Rosa as a PI or start his own PI business. Just a one liner saying that he would do something which would continue his passion while still being able to be there for Mac as a parent. It also gave me an uncomfortable callback to my least favorite episode of the show, Casecation, where Jake was mocked when he argued that having a child might compromise their jobs which they both loved and Amy argued that getting promoted would allow her more control over her hours. And now we are at the finale and Jake's argument was completely right and in the end Jake is compromising on his professional career for Amy. There is no doubt in my mind that Jake would have wanted to continue being a detective and a father were it not for the specific circumstances. Jake choosing his family and Amy is no surprise, but I doubt that would have been his preference. On a more practical note, it is not even remotely believable that a couple with a small child living in Brooklyn can survive on a single income, even if Amy is a Chief. I am absolutely certain that the original endgame was for him to join the FBI. They introduced that idea at the beginning of season 7 for a reason. I think it got torpedoed because of the rewrite of the season arc. I like to headcanon that Jake got back to doing investigating on some level because its a shame if he isn't able to use his natural talents to use.
Anyways, the season overall isn't the home run I hoped it would be but given the circumstances, they did a pretty solid job. It isn't necessarily the season I would revisit as much on rewatch but it still delivers the heart and humor that we love from the show. A 7/10 for me. Like Jake said, goodbyes are inherently sad but the show has had a good run and I am glad its getting to go out on its own terms. I will miss this cast together and I really hope they all find success and I can follow them to other films and tv shows. So lets give it up for the cast and crew. One last time, NINE-NINE!

Acknowledging the Queer Toxicity in the Film Industry.
I have been out for 5 years and I still get excited whenever I see queer stuff in films. However, I'm not talking about a queer character, I'm talking about a character who happens to be queer.
Don't get it? Let me explain.
Recently I've seen a lot of gay movies coming out (pun definitely intended) and they're all about this gay character who despite the fact that they're queer, happens to find love.
Oh? Did the word 'despite' make you uncomfortable? Angry? It should.
Nine times out of ten, when I see a queer movie, it's about coming out and being yourself and finding love. And I hate that. Not that there is anything wrong with movies like that. I think Love, Simon is a beautifully written movie, it inspired a lot of people and it's really important to queer culture.
However, I much more prefer the subtle queer. A woman that lovingly mentions her wife. An anxious man that acknowledges that he finds dating tough, but he'll find a boyfriend someday. I want casual queers. I hate it when movies take two guys and make all their conversations about how "dating is hard for gays" and "I never thought I'd find love" or 'insert a gay joke here'. It's exhausting.
That's one of the reasons I like B99 so much. You've got Holt, who is a stone faced captain that loves jokes. He loves his husband and their dog. A very serious part of his character is that he is a black, gay man who had to work extra hard to get things he should have deserved. Those traits aren't diminished, but they also aren't the focus.
Then there is Rosa, she's a badass motherfucker who always has a knife and rides a motercycle. She's also Bi, and whilst there was a couple of episodes about her coming out to people, it didn't change her character. It just made her happier. She still threatens to stab someone if they ask her too many questions.
Rocketman (2019) is one of my favourite films. Elton and Bernie have made so many songs that have changed our music industry. The movie goes over Elton's life and how his mental health started to decline due to trauma and an abusive relationship that got him into doing drugs. The fact that he's gay only comes up when other people talk about it or force him to. With one exception - when he's in therapy, and even then, he's not saying it with fear or hesitation and it's also brought up by someone else. "And marrying her didn't make you happy?" "Not really, I'm gay." Being gay is apart of Elton's history, but it isn't what he's known for. He's known for being one of the best musicians of our time and we love him so much!
I also recently watched 'Tick, Tick... Boom!' and it was fantastic! I didn't know that Jonathan was so anxious about making a play before 30. I've grown up in a time where a lot of people got their big break after 30 and it's rare to get one before 30. I also vaguely remember that Jonathan was friends with a lot of people during the AIDS crisis that ended up dying to HIV. A crisis which was highly centered around gay communities. His best friend was gay and ended up getting HIV, and it was very sad, I cried.
I love seeing queerness in film, and we need more. What we do not need, however is queer characters. I hate defining characters as queer, because that means we are actively pushing LGBTQA+ people into a bubble. If my brother and I can date the same lady, then I want jokes about how I stole his girl, and not about how she doesn't like men all that much anymore. I want the kind of jokes I experience in real life when people look at me and correct themselves two or three times cause they haven't quite figured out my gender. When my niece was 6, she told us she was going to marry this girl, we laughed and told her to wait untill she was older to marry her.
Putting queerness into films is important, but it's also getting dangerous. Please be aware of the rising toxicity in this.
I'm also sorry if I offended anybody, as it wasn't my intention. Please, feel free to correct me if I'm wrong.
Go on. Do it.

vedu like yeah ok mereko pneumonia nahi chahiye and peaces out, while sir vows internally his ek tarfa pyaar will last all life. yeah, let's see, bro. let's see.
video lene waale creep ka creep boss decides to hang on to that totally fucking non-controversial video as blackmail material. ok?????? such low stakes bs i swear.
1 saal baaad......... ram has upgraded to shiny silver shoes. guess he's been pandemic shopping for absolute nonsense things to just feel something on the inside, like the rest of us,
his friend/chamcha/whatever is asking him about the promise he gave vedika a year ago, and there's something about behen ki engagement, while ram is too busy snacking. same, bro, same.
his delhi waala asst introduces himself as varun and ram's like.... i'll call you tarun, i call all my assistants tarun. um ok wtf????? you can't be arsed to just remember the names of ppl who work with you????? ALSO IT'S JUST ONE LETTER DIFFERENT, YOU CAN'T REMEMBER THAT AND CALL HIM BY HIS GIVEN NAME????? GOD. I HATE RICH PPL.
backstory time; vedika went and married someone else, and wants her brother in law to marry ram's sister shivi. ok idgi, ismein itna bada promise waali kya baat thi???
anyway sadboi ram is like oh it's gonna be sooooo great, it'll be me and vedu, pandit hoga, dj hoga, ppl will come and dance and celebrate.... but it'll be someone else's shaadi. and i'm totallyyyyyy fine with that!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
friend/chamcha is like........ ummmmm ok sus, but whatever, i don't have the mental bandwidth to delve into this, so come let's do some random comedy. (which still isn't nakuul's strength. he only works when he's playing straight man to shenanigans happening around him, than participating in it himself.)
blah blah meeting time, where he throws around lotta buzzwords and jesus christ, i am so glad i don't have to sit in corporate meetings anymore.
character exposition time from chamcha to new asst varun/tarun: ram is best dealmaker businessman ever, a hypochondriac, insomniac, has sabse bada dil, loves his family beyond all else, and is a foodie extraordinaire. wow what an innovative and never seen before type of character played by nakuul mehta.
varun/tarun is asking chamcha friend what hopes he has for ram's life and future and like........ who are these ppl who think about their bosses like this? like, i don't give one flying fuck about my boss's life outside of work hours; as far as i'm concerned, they go back and lie in their coffins like vampires, till it's time to rise and make employees' lives difficult again.
anyway chamcha friend is like my friend is a lost child and i just want someone to help him come home. man fuck off, this dude looks perfectly sane and sensible and like he has a handle on all the shit in his life, so fuck off with this infantalizing bs. he doesn't need some woman to "fix" him.
moving to some college debate class where a chick is raving about mumbai ki baarish being an ~~~~~emotion~~~~, and like..... dude, have you seen your city's infrastructure????
the gen z college audience is like snapping their fingers to show agreement, and omg lol whutttttttt??????? is this a real thing young'uns do these days???? can't wait for when this gen reaches parliament.
priya is sitting in this class (evaluating/auditing it?) and scoffing at this trite romantic bs and gotta say she's a WHOLEASS MOOD.
snotty backbenchers are judging her (the new eng lit teacher.) whatever brats. focus on your snap streak or reel transitions or whatever it is that you kids these days care about.
passionate rain loving girl is like EXCUSE YOU MAAM WITH THE ROLLY EYES DO YOU HAVE A PROBLEM WITH MY BASICASS BAARISH LOVING PERSONALITY and priya's friend is like oh god don't start, they're just rich spoilt kids...... priya is like, if they're rich and spoilt, they're not kids, and if they're kids, they shouldn't be so spoilt..... logic is shaky but passable, but this isn't going to execute well sis.
priya destroys this pluviophile college crowd with her middle class logic and rationality and they cannot seem to handle the realness, coz they all like...........
cut to ram wanting pakode coz its thundering. casually skipping over fact that he just got a 400 cr deal signed in that meeting. pft.
cut to snotty kids bitching about how priya is pakau coz she's 32 and single and is "frustrated". because.......... we can't give ourselves orgasms????
anyway priya and her friend roll their eyes at the kids and their belief in "true wuv" as they discuss friend's divorce case and alimony issues, with patented balaji heroine dukhiyaari theme music in bg.
kids following her and saying the only man in her frustrated life is her autowaala. and honestly lemme tell y'all, that's the only reliable man needed in life.
priya's brother is ram's sister shivi's ex and he's depressed about her engagement to someone else and she has to go to some bakery to cheer him up or something.
shivi is in a snit about wanting last minute vegan cupcakes and not liking any of the shoes she has at her disposal, while ram tries to talk sense into her but..... ok i think i just don't care about ppl who are rich AND young. their issues are extra unworthy to me.
ram like she wants leather shoes and vegan cupcakes???? make it make sense, pls. he's right and he should say it.
anyway i think priya's fam runs the bakery snob sister wants her cupcakes from.
priya surrounded by a buncha lovelorn idiot siblings and is the only voice of sense here.
ram is calling to order the vegan cupcakes which should have no anda no sugar no maida and he's like what's even in these, hawa????
priya is like yeah these are our special ameeron ke chonchlein waale cupcakes with extra hawa, thanks for asking.
some bantering and bickering about him being kind of a rich dumbass and her totally not here for that bs.
lol he's like can i have a normal non healthy waala cupcake and she's like ok these are all the flavours we have, and he's like is there an "all in one" type, and she's like "nahi, aaj tak kisi ne itna laalach nahi kiya." lmaooooooooooooo.
before hanging up he asks if it's raining in mumbai (he's in delhi) and she's like oh great another fucking one of these baarish loving freaks.
omg one of his..... brothers???? is that ponky fellow from naagin 5. he has done cupcake pickup (800 cupcakes fit in in the trunk???? huh), one of which ram swiftly shoves in his gaping maw.
priya's siblings trying to keep her in the bakery after closing time, idk for what joy; while ram obsesses over gaadi ka ac not cooling enough and his eyes being red or some such...... idk man, i really don't care for rich ppl's problems.
he's switching out his silver shoes for gold ones. ick.
chamcha friend's name is adi and his wife is calling and she's mad and ram has been put on video call to cool her down. post hanging up, some stupid haha wives suck, they only feed you tinde kinda bs jokes.
priya is getting little toooo worked up over this romantic baarish spiel. sis, it's not thaaat deep. chill.
adi making some jab teri shaadi hogi jokes and ram gets all smiley sad again with khnh sad tune in bg.
priya ka bhi koi past heartbreak trauma ubhar aa raha hai and like...... get therapy sis.
ram ka car breakdown. rickshaw lena padega.
guess who else is standing on same street, cussing at the rain, and has her hand out for an auto.
she gets the auto first and he's standing outside haggling saying he'll pay double triple and all (they can't see each other coz she's lowered the rain shade on that side) and auto waala is like fml i hate my job i just wanna go home.
auto starts to drive away when priya hears ram lamenting ki meri behen ki sagaai hai yaaaaaar, and stops the auto to let him in, but his friends hailed another cab or something by then and he heads towards that.
precap: ram rushes in saying omg everyone must be waiting for meeeeeeee and i delayed the function, while engagement is full on going ahead without him only. priya's brother asks her how she felt about some maitreyi didi marrying her ex bf and she's like idgaf. shivi seems to have run away and come to priya's house (i guess back to her ex?) and ram's mom proposes priya and him get married. phew. too much information in 30 seconds.

Spoilers for comics in August!
These are part of the official solicitations for that month, which you can see in full at CBR. It’s a month heavy on Suicide Squad reprints and variant covers, as the movie is out in early August. But the Mick story continues in the Flash book.
THE FLASH #773 story by JEREMY ADAMS art by WILL CONRAD cover by BRANDON PETERSON ON SALE 8/17/21 $3.99 US | 32 PAGES | FC | DC card stock variant by JORGE CORONA US $4.99 Suicide Squad Movie card stock variant by ALAN QUAH US $4.99 On the loose and bent on destruction, Heatwave's return couldn't come at a worse time for Wally West. Now that the onetime Kid Flash has retaken the mantle of the Fastest Man Alive, he's also taken a new job at Mr. Terrific's Holt Industries. But all of that gets put on the back burner, when the Flash must outrace the flames of one of his greatest foes and figure out why the once-reformed rogue has gone bad again.
Please write ‘Heat Wave’ correctly, DC. Anyway, it seems that Mick really has gone bad for some reason; I was hoping last month that the covers/solicits were misleading.
I’m not sure who the fiery guy is on the Swamp Thing cover, but he certainly bears a resemblance to Mick (and if it’s him, implies that Mick joins Suicide Squad). So I’ll post it here just in case.
THE SWAMP THING #6 story by RAM V art by MIKE PERKINS cover by MIKE PERKINS ON SALE 8/3/21 $3.99 US | 32 PAGES | FC | DC 6 of 10 card stock variant by FRANCESCO MATTINA $4.99 US With Prescot’s bio-agent set off in the Kaziranga wetlands, the Green summons Levi back to the land of his making. With Levi unable to access his powers as Swamp Thing, he finds himself trapped in the dense forest and stalked by a group tasked with retrieving his alter ego at all costs. Will he recover his powers before he is hunted down by the Suicide Squad?
Putting the Suicide Squad stuff behind a cut because it gets pretty long -- and not all of it’s included here. I don’t know if Digger will appear in Suicide Squad: Get Joker!, but included it just in case. Most of it is TPBs and collected editions, though the Get Joker! series is a new story.
