Alright guys, here’s the official introduction of the infamous
McClintock High Teen Ninjas!
While not the only ninjas present at the school, these seven are the clear leads of the operation. For more information on each of them, check below the cut!
Stacey Pérez
- Cheer captain of the McClintock Cheerleading Squad as well as the unofficial official leader of the McClintock Ninjas
- She also cheers competitively; she’s, like, really good
- Probably the meanest girl you’ll ever meet, but only if you try going against her demands; stay on her good side, and you’ll escape her presence with only a few snide remarks and maybe a new insecurity
- Likes Chad’s face and hair, but likes flirting with other guys even more; besides, it’s not like she hasn’t totally heard from Cree that he was making out with Shelly Rivers underneath the bleachers last week!
- Has a super annoying KND operative brother that keeps stealing her BRAs!!! GET OUT SAM!!
- Despite her agility and cunning, was never a KND operative… she was never a fan of the whole “protecting helpless kids” bit; why go out of your way to help someone that can’t do anything for you in return?
Chad Dickson
- Former KND Super Star and Super Leader; current running back for the McClintock Wolverines
- Stacey’s on-and-off-again boyfriend; their relationship is more related to status than anything; think of it as a symbiotic relationship… Chad gets firsthand access to all Teen Ninja information and gossip, and Stacey gets some nice arm candy to make the girls on the squad jealous
- Occasional bassist for the ScumBucketPunks, founded by elusive Teen Leader The Steve
- Secret Doctor Time Space and the Continuums enthusiast; tell anyone and you’re dead. like, for real
- Secret double agent for the Teens Next Door; also, a double double agent for the Galactic Kids Next Door; it’s complicated.
Justin Cavallero
- Linebacker for the Wolverines; he loves pummeling people almost as much as he loves chugging offensive amounts of root beer at houseparties
- Twins with Chuckie; Yes, they’re identical. No, they are not the same person but with different hairstyles
- Him and Chuckie have an older brother that’s just gone off to college; he used to lock them in the closet when they were little and play scary ghost noises from his CD player until their mom found out and unlocked the door; he’s awesome
- Chad Dickson’s best friend, kinda; it’s sort of split between him and Chuckie, but he thinks he reigns supreme; Chuckie’s too soft
- Guitarist for the ScumBucketPunks. Has a totally straight bro-crush on The Steve.
- IT’S NOT GAY TO APPRECIATE PERFECTLY STYLED HAIR, CHUCKIE
Chuckie Cavallero
- Also a linebacker for the Wolverines; him and Justin are blessed with identical broad shoulders and thick skulls, so it makes sense
- The more sensitive of the two brothers, but still shares Justin’s puppy dog attention span and live while you’re young outlook on life
- Chad Dickson’s second best friend; he’ll admit it! It’s not like he doesn’t have plenty of other dudes to hang out with… not to mention the new girl at school who might be the coolest person he’s ever met
- Drummer for the ScumBucketPunks; pretends not to mind when The Steve accidentally calls him Chunky for the third time in one day
- Him and Justin were both KND operatives at one point in time, though both accepted decommissioning; they both just think they have childhood amnesia from all their rough-housing, or something
Violet Dau
- The newest student at McClintock High, and Stacey’s current pet project
- She thinks she might be getting the hang of the whole being a popular girl thing, but she’s not quite sure; at least she doesn’t totally suck at cheerleading; she misses playing tennis at her old high school, though
- Has a secret, massive sweet tooth; strawberry milkshakes are her favorite, but she’ll settle for vanilla if she’s really desperate
- Secretly working with Chad as a TND operative; he’s kind of a jerk sometimes, but she’s warming up to him, sort of? It doesn’t help that it always feels like he’s hiding something from her…
- Lives with her dad in a small apartment close to the school; they don’t talk much
Cree Lincoln
- Not a cheerleader (she’s captain of the girls’ volleyball team), but still high up in the ninja ranks thanks to her insider KND information and close connections with Father himself
- Sometimes friends with Stacey, but sometimes not; It’s complicated girl stuff; there’s a mutual respect though, and she’s smart enough to know not to jeopardize that if she ever wants to sit at the popular kids’ lunch table ever again
- Totally crushing on Maurice, and they might be kind of dating? She’s not sure yet, but she’s hopeful
- The best hand-to-hand combatant in the group, easily; the only way Chad is able to beat her during sparring matches is by riling her up and making her angry enough to drop her carefully planned attacks in favor of hard punches; Chad might be able to take her down in the end, but he’s the one with bruises along his ribcage for the next week
- Loves trashy teen magazines and pop punk girl artists; hates the classical music her mom plays in the car on the way to school
- Wishes her dumb little sister would finally grow up and join her in the teen world, which is super cool and mature, obviously
Maurice Wells
- Much too busy with international TND missions to do any sport or club; he doesn’t mind though, the high school social hierarchy majorly freaks him out
- Often works with Chad and Violet, reading over their mission reports and trying to apply their gained information to the grander scheme of fighting adult tyranny
- Does NOT get paid enough (wait, he doesn’t get paid at all!) to put up with their constant bickering; seriously, how can you even find a way to argue about the color of the sky??
- Likes to read on his days off, preferably science fiction or fantasy; with as stressful as his job can be, he’ll take all the escapism he can get
- Might be dating Cree? He doesn’t know; she scares him a little bit
- Secretly meets up with Abby about once a month to catch up and share field notes; he’s an only child, and in a lot of ways she’s like the little sister he never had
- Has the sneaking suspicion that there might be something even bigger than the TND out there pulling the strings, and that Chad is in on the deception, but knows that it’s smarter to wait things out on the sidelines than to charge headfirst demanding answers; Maurice may only be a teenager, but he’s wise beyond his years in a way no one expects
#phewww this took a hot minute#i have sooooo many ideas for them you don’t even understand#kids next door#knd#chad dickson#oc: violet dau#stacey peréz#justin cavallero#chuckie cavallero#cree lincoln#maurice knd#maurice wells

The pioneering Scottish aviator Bertram Dickson was born in Edinburgh on 21st December 1873.
Dickson was the first British winner of an aviation contest and his skills as a pilot also led indirectly to the foundation of the Royal Flying Corps, the forerunner of the Royal Air Force. As we shall see, he also notched up an achievement that he certainly did not want.
It is baffling that more is not known about Dickson. Indeed, of his early life, family and schooling, as I have posted before, all that can be reported is that he was born in Edinburgh on this day in 1873, it’s not the only missing period of Bertram’s life though as I will explain, the man is a bit of an enigma.
By the age of 19 Bertram Dickson was assisting the geographer Sir Thomas Holdich in the Andes Mountains in a famous expedition that defined the border between Chile and Argentina. Dickson went to the Royal Military Academy from where he graduated in 1894, being commissioned as a second lieutenant in the Royal Artillery in November, 1894, before gaining promotion to lieutenant and then captain by November 1900. His service until then had taken in British East Africa, South Africa and Somaliland.
The following May there began the great mystery of Dickson’s life, but one which is easily explained.
He was seconded to the Foreign Office and promptly disappeared from the records for seven years.
There’s little doubt that Bertram Dickson became a spy, an early James Bond-type who by 1908 was a military attaché in what is now Eastern Turkey but was then part of the Ottoman Empire. Prior to then he had also written articles for geographical journals – a normal cover story for espionage activities
Early in 1910, Dickson learned to fly at the Henri Farman flying school in France. Having gained his aviator’s certificate, No 71, the first British pilot from the services entered a flying contest and won it with the longest distance flown – believed to have been the first aviation endurance competition.
He repeated his success at air meetings in the UK – he won £400 at Lanark – before he resigned his army commission to work for the British and Colonial Aircraft company. It was while he was working for them that on September 21, 1910, Dickson flew his Bristol Boxkite aircraft in what were reconnaissance try-outs.
Dickson “won” the first sortie and was able to stress the importance of air war readiness to two observers, Field Marshal Lord Kitchener and Home Secretary Winston Churchill who was hugely impressed and would later be Secretary of State for Air.
Dickson then earned an unwanted distinction. On October 3rd, 1910, he was involved in the world’s first mid-air collision between two powered aircraft. He and the French pilot Rene Thomas survived the accident – for which the courts later blamed Dickson – but the Scot was very seriously injured.
Even as he lay in recuperation, Dickson made his greatest achievement, which was to persuade the Government to take war in the skies seriously. Kitchener and Churchill had not forgotten Dickson’s demonstration and as a result of their intervention, in November 1911, the then prime minister Herbert Asquith asked the Imperial Defence Committee to form an investigation into war in the air.
The Technical Sub-Committee for Imperial Defence duly inquired into the subject and it was to that subcommittee that Dickson made this prophetic submission: “In case of a European war, between two countries, both sides would be equipped with large corps of aeroplanes, each trying to obtain information on the other... the efforts which each would exert in order to hinder or prevent the enemy from obtaining information... would lead to the inevitable result of a war in the air, for the supremacy of the air, by armed aeroplanes against each other. This fight for the supremacy of the air in future wars will be of the greatest importance.”
Remember that this was before any country had an independent air force – pilots and planes were attached to army or navy units, and it was an Italian Army Air Corps flying French-built aircraft which first dropped bombs on Libya during the 1911-1912 Italo-Turkish war on October 23rd, 1911.
It may well have been that Dickson, with his connections to Turkey, had information on this first-ever air raid, and drew his conclusions accordingly.
The Imperial Defence Committee recommended the formation of the Royal Flying Corps which was instituted on April 13th, 1912, becoming the RAF six years later when it joined with the Royal Naval Air Service whose founding was largely the work of Dickson’s old contact, Winston Churchill.
Having never really recovered from his injuries sustained in the Milan air accident, Dickson died on September 28th, 1913, at Lochrosque Castle near Achnasheen in Ross-shire. He was buried in the Cnoc na Bhain burial ground in Strath Bran. There is a plaque honouring him nearby.

USS Carolina (1812) sank 27 December 1814
Painting by Keith Wilkie "In the twilight, British soldiers saw the masts of a ship on the Mississippi River next to their position. Believing it to be a Royal Navy vessel, soldiers ran to the levee and began hailing the ship. They realized their mistake when the U.S. Navy’s twelve-gun schooner Carolina, commanded by Capt. Henley, opened fire with a broadside of grapeshot. Meanwhile, advancing under cover of darkness, and guided by the British campfires, the American divisions attacked the camp on both flanks. The attacking Right Division drove the camp’s pickets in ahead of them. Fighting spread inland and Coffee’s Left Division pressed the British right to encircle the defenders. The surprised redcoats initially retreated but quickly rallied and counterattacked along the road. They nearly captured the two American cannon before U.S. infantry drove them back once more. In the darkness, as the fighting became widespread, confused, and hand-to-hand, some U.S. units became separated or lost in the dark. At about 0400, Col. Brooke’s 2d Brigade began arriving to support the British defenders. Jackson ordered his men to disengage and retire. The 7th and 44th U.S. Infantry, along with some attached militia, covered the retreat against a possible counterattack, but Keane’s army was in no condition to pursue. Perplexed over the rapid and undetected American advance, and their camp in shambles, Keane ordered his men to take defensive positions. U.S. casualties amounted to 24 killed, 115 wounded, and 74 missing or captured. British losses included 46 killed, 166 wounded, and 64 missing."
"On Christmas Day, General Pakenham arrived and assumed command of the British land forces and for the next few days the armies cautiously watched each other. While the Royal Navy ferried more troops and artillery ashore and evacuated the wounded, the new commander reorganized his men into three brigades. Pakenham realized that the U.S. Navy’s vessels on the Mississippi River could enfilade his left flank in any move toward New Orleans. The Mississippi Flotilla, under the command of Master Commandant Patterson, who held the local rank of commodore, consisted of Carolina, riding at anchor; the unfinished converted sixteen-gun sloop-of-war Louisiana, anchored about one mile farther upriver and being used as a floating battery under Lt. Thompson’s command; and two gunboats. To remove this threat, Pakenham ordered his chief of artillery, Lt. Col. Dickson, to sink Carolina and, if possible, Louisiana. After cutting embrasures in the levee during the night of 25 December, the British erected furnaces for heating “hot shot,” and waited for more ammunition.
The British opened fire at dawn on 27 December, with guns firing round shot and howitzers firing shell, the artillerymen quickly found the range to Carolina. Both Louisiana and Carolina returned fire, but only the forward 12-pounder aboard the Carolina could reply effectively. Patterson ordered both ships and the gunboats to withdraw upstream. With shot and shell raking her deck, the Carolina struggled against the current and northwest wind. Finally, a hot shot penetrated to the hold and started a fire. When he realized the flames were out of control, Captain Henley ordered the crew to abandon ship before the fire spread to the magazine and ignited the powder. The resulting explosion destroyed the ship at about 1020. Although at maximum range, British artillerymen now turned their attention on Louisiana, but the crew used their boats to tow the ship upstream to safety. The men of Carolina later salvaged some guns from the sunken hulk and served on shore."

My thoughts about the Space Ghost Dynamite Comic
I'm into Space Ghost from cartoon network space ghost stuff (I hated the 2005 comic and I found Futurequest deeply underwhelming) and I I keep checking out the previews to see if there's something to draw me in but I'm not interested in what I've seen so far. I haven't bought any of the issues likewise, so I'm going off what I've seen in previews. My apologies if the comic has some secret magic I'm missing by not buying the full thing, but this is what I think from what I've seen.
Im actually kinda disappointed they are making Dax a jerk to the kids from the get go when "Major Dickson Yates" was actually great parent to Jan and Jace and even the situation with Tad Ghostal and the twins is a more complicated relationship than "Space Ghost was a jerk and hated them the whole time", as seen in the coast to coast comics from the shows crew and even Jellystone. Like this may be the space ghost that's the worst with the kids
And I'm also a bit underwhelmed by what I've seen of the villains. I don't like Brak's and Sisto's new designs, the skinny but muscley ninja action figure look doesn't work for either of them
And setting up black Widow as an ally to space ghost doesn't seem like a great plot point either because either she's either going to obviously betray him or the Concil of Doom is loosing their only female member
And I feel like the icing on the "I feel like you are just retreating the original cannon in a way that doesn't really add anything interesting" cake on my book is how Robocorp is being handled. They were interesting because space ghost had no idea who they were and didn't even know them by name until the Comico comic. This time he knows them before he even knows the twins or blip, and they have CoD members and the space police in their back pocket, removing all of their mystery.
Like I'm sure it's a fun space adventure if you haven't watched the original cartoon or only half remember coast to coast, but it just feels like a tropey retread of what you already know if you are deep enough down the Space Ghost rabbit hole enough to know that The Toonami robot is a Space Ghost character
All in all I'm only angry at it because it's probably going to be the only space ghost material we'll get at all for the rest of the decade, but I'm largely just disappointed it's not doing anything more interesting with captain Adult Swim

It appears that Lucy will be covering the role likely for the rest of the tour due to the injury Petra sustained during the show yesterday.
Another debut is Russell Dickson, who has taken over from Matt Krzan as Munkustrap.

Madison Washington: The real life Django who escaped slàvery twice during the 1800s
Madison Washington was an enslaved African cook who escaped from slavery not once, but twice. He led the Creole slave revolt in which 18 Black slaves overtook the slave ship, the Creole in November 1841, the uprising resulted in freedom for 128 slaves.
Eventually, Washington escaped slavery and headed to Canada to keep his freedom intact.
While in Canada, Washington worked for a farmer called Mr. Dickson.
Nonetheless, Washington couldn’t enjoy his freedom because his wife, Susan was still being held captive in Virginia. His original plan for them both escaping failed.
Yet Washington was determined to be reunited with his wife, even if it meant the loss of his freedom.
Dickson tried unsuccessfully to dissuade Washington from traveling back to the South to free his wife.
Washington left Canada with the money he earned, saws and other inconspicuous weapons hidden in the lining of his coat to help him free himself should he need to.
Washington hid in the bushes near where he was previously held and Susan was still a slave.
During a corn shucking – an event where slaves would peel large amounts of corn and then be awarded a feast with whiskey included, he discovered that Susan was still at the farm that housed them both.
Washington entered the vicinity of the farm and was caught by the overseer. He was eventually taken and put aboard The Creole, a slave ship bound for New Orleans.
He contained his composure all the while gathering members for an uprising and planning a revolt.
Nine days into the trip, some of the slaves were sick and not properly monitored which gave Washington and his men the footing to overtake the ship.
According to accounts, after killing the slave traders and wounding the captain, the slaves gathered up all weapons on the ship and other documents related to their enslavement and took charge of the ship.
In the process, one slave was badly wounded and later died. Other crew members were also badly injured.
The slaves initially demanded to be sailed towards Nassau, the Bahamas as it was the only place they knew former slaves could get their freedom.
When they landed in the Bahamas, they were considered free as slavery was illegal in the British colonies.
Madison and the others who had been involved in overtaking the ship and killing a slave trader were, however, detained and charged with mutiny.
Interestingly, three women, a girl and a boy decided to stay aboard the Creole and sailed with the ship to New Orleans, returning to slavery.
Other accounts, however, indicated that they had stayed in hiding on board.
When the Creole arrived in New Orleans on December 2, 1841, five slaves were still aboard, angering the white slave owners who were told that the remaining slaves had been freed by British authorities.
Although they demanded that the slaves be returned to them, it became impossible since slavery had been outlawed and there were no extradition treaties between Britain and America.
On April 16, 1842, the Admiralty Court in Nassau ordered the mutineers, including Washington to be released and freed.
Washington has since been described as a hero, especially by abolitionists for championing a revolt that enabled as much as 128 enslaved people to gain their freedom.

195) Mishap Marriage by Helen Dickson FIRST COMES DECEPTION… THEN COMES MARRIAGE When Captain Cally sails into Santamaria, with her rugged, dangerous appeal, for the Master she’s a ticket to freedom. And then his brother-in-law’s scheming places them in a highly compromising situation. Although Cally is mesmerised by the Master, marriage would destroy her plans to obtain guardianship over her child, so she devises a way to make sure the forced wedding stays a sham. But weeks later the Master shows up on her London doorstep, and Cally must learn to deal with a very unexpected, very defiant husband…
I doubt the original blurb meant 'mesmerised' quite so literally.
