Round 1 Part 8 Poll 3
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Propaganda
Sea Hawk is peak himbo. Likes ADVENTURE!!! and arson. Mustache goals.
I don't remember much about Captain Alberic, just that I liked him. I think he was one who pretended to be touch and ruthless but was actually very friendly.

some small headcanons about my portrayals
under the cut due to length
Alber
Alber is constantly stimming when he stands. If he is not tapping his fingers, he is tapping his toes or bouncing his leg. This is mostly due to the PTSD of being raised as an experiment in Punk Hazard.
Rosinante
Rosinante had nightmares for the better part of a decade, only working past the traumatic memories with years of therapy. The first time that he woke screaming, Sengoku held the boy for two hours until he calmed down.
Koby
Koby's parents died when he was seven years old. The people of his home village helped him get by until the day he was accidentally kidnapped by Alvida when he got on the wrong boat. The villagers thought that he was lost at sea due to a storm rolling in right after until news of the Rocky Port Incident.
Lucci
Lucci was sold by his parents to the World Government when he was six years old. This was three years after he had eaten his fruit. They did not know how to handle a child with the ability to turn into a big cat. Due to his young age, he has no memories of his parents and sees the WG as his only family, which is the basis of his loyalty.
Law
Law still bears the marks left from White Lead Disease. The scarring does not go away, even as the pigment comes back. As such he has some hypo-pigmented skin where the marks were for longer than three months. Hypo-pigmentation does not equal loss of sensation or nerve damage, just a lack of activity in the melanocytes of the skin cells.

They ARE pretty cool.
Tumblr media
We suspected it, but now it's confirmed Ben Beckman was the one who tore off Kidd's arm... and I'm sorry because I like Kidd... but that's hot of Beckman.
I always tend to like the second in command (Rayleigh, Marco) but my god, when they are unhinged I love them (Zoro, Beckman).

Tried and failed to write yesterday but was successful today!! Finally started the goth fam sequel (yeah, not the prequel... oops) and also a short fic that's 99% finished at around 4k. It needs editing and polishing and then I'll try to post it in the next few days.
I just want my blorbos interact and was possessed by the sudden need for Perona and King to not only meet, but also braid each other's hair. I mean come on. It's the perfect activity for them. Plus, their captains have history!! I wanted to write something relatively light hearted anyways. So, here's a snippet:
__
“Moria complained all the time about your captain, you know,” she says, which gets his attention. He’s not keen on talking about Kaido much these days, but he supposes it can’t always be avoided. “That if not for him, he would have stayed in the New World. It was one stupid fight and he never shut up about it! Ugh, it was so annoying.”
“I was there,” Alber says without thinking. He does remember that fight, too, because Moria’s zombies had been a pain in the ass to put down. They were as susceptible to his fire as anything else, though. Kaido handled Moria himself.
“What?!” Perona drops his hair and braces her hands on his shoulder, leaning over to see his face. “Really? Moria was in his prime back then, I wish I could have seen it!”
“I was Kaido’s second from the very beginning,” he says, frowning. Back then. Had it really been that long ago, or is she just that young? “It was a fairly short fight. Moria didn’t belong in the New World, and we made sure he knew th - ach.”
Alber winces as Perona yanks a fistful of his hair.  “Don’t speak ill of Moria! How could you? After I’ve been so kind to you!”
As if she hasn’t complained about Moria several times already, and now she’s trying to exact some sort of transactional cost out of this activity again? He offers no apology, nor does she seem to expect one.
“Well,” she says with a sniff. She smooths her hands through his hair again, and picks up where she left off braiding. “If you hadn’t chased him out, he would have never found me, so. It’s alright, I guess.”
“Hm,” is all Alber says in response. It’s the closest he’ll get to an olive branch, but he’s never been above being petty. Perona is much nicer company than Queen, though, and if Mihawk allows her here, he needs to respect that, too.
“Hawkeyes told me to be nice to you if I ever ran into you,” she says, immediately undoing whatever goodwill had been extended just a moment ago.

i dont know your rules or if you have a masterlist but out of nowhere I got obsessed with King and i need more fics on him, my favorites are headcanons
so if you could write about him like yandere headcanons where he kidnapped reader who he caught insterest in
or bedroom headcanons like its canon that he is a sadistic pervert but do yo think he would like to be dommed by his s/o
Tumblr media
I don't have any rules and no master list yet! But I'm glad you decided to send this ask! As a fellow King-starved OP fan it can be quite hard to find any content about him, especially as a Yandere, like- why, it works so well with him!! As for bedroom headcanons, I wrote this a while ago. Not exactly a straightforward answer to your question but still, I think you'll get the answer yourself. Also, I managed to fit some backstory about King😅 (most of it is actually his backstory) but I promise it explains his... yandareness... my writing style is different but I hope you'll like it. More ideas about this AU have come to me as I was working on this, so let me know if I should write part 2... Anyway, hope you enjoy this!
Warnings: Spoilers for King's real name, his backstory, kidnapping, closed-off character, murder, arson.
Tumblr media
No matter where Alber goes, there will always be a certain darkness following him, the darkness that began surfacing inside of him ever since he became a research subject at Punk Hazard. The memories of warmth are lost to him, his family members, their faces, their love, traditions- everything from his past turned into shadowy figures that visit him in the dead of night, where he laid bare on his back, defenseless and unable to move an inch.
Alber experiences, no- has experienced those lonesome nights too many times after his escape, with Kaidou at his side, passed out drunk, there was only so much he could do under the night sky, as the sweat rolled down his chin, awake and stricken with fear, haunted by the nightmarish masks and white coats. The extreme heat lingered under his skin, with no scars to show the battles he survived on the Punk, though he could still feel the consequences of others' actions.
Each day his loyalty to Kaidou grows and so does his disdain for the people they have met on their journey. Days and months soon turned into years, years he has spent becoming stronger, years he spent with Kaidou, he has to catch up with him, perhaps matching up to his strength, but that is reaching too far, for Kaidou is strong, stronger then he'll ever be. Each second his world shrinks down to only the hero, who had saved him, his vision is blind to the islands they traveled to and conquered, blind to the beaten-up bodies they defeated. The colors of his environment blur together, lost to the intriguing laugh of his captain. He stares after the huge back, a back which he has to fill with his own will and strength, He is no longer Alber, for the boy was a shadow that no longer belonged to his body, weak, only confident in his endurance, a prey waiting for salvation. The worthless name stood on empty grounds, a new title was given to him.
He tries his best and this time, his best is enough for the man he idolizes (He has to thank his biology). He backs up his captain and engraves his name onto the burnt enemy's back, King. He takes pride in his new title, fit for Joyboy's first-mate.
He is no longer Alber. He is now the predator that the scientists have tried to research and avoid. He puts on a nobles mask, made of the finest leather. He puts on a new identity, on that day, on that land, a monster was born, a monster that happened to burry its emotions into the depths of the ocean.
King smiles.
Even after their crew gets big, annoying comments from Queen are met with aggressive glares, his facial features are hidden behind a dark mask that's acting as an intimidation factor, he holds the crew together purely for Kaidou, there is no respect tugging at his actions, sentiment hasn't had a place in him for some time now. What he first felt when he met Kaidou only brings so much to the table, so little emotion, aside from authority. The dark grows, and even if he is emitting an eternal fire, ebony covers his frames, cooling the heat and leaving him in the chilliness of The Beast's shadow. In utter darkness.
King kills, tears the bodies up, and burns them until not even the bones remain. All he does is stare down at the screaming faces, staring them down as they did to Alber. All he sees is the red light coming from the burning village. The smell of rot follows after him as he walks down the streets of an unnamed island.
In a small cottage at the end of the town, he feels a presence hiding from him. Away from the door which he bursts through. He doesn't waste his time as he strides into the person's house, in a place he can see their shaking silhouette. His steps are loud in his tiny bubble, with no fire or scream entering his field of hearing, he doesn't hear the door shut itself, but he can feel the breaths that left the person's nose, and can hear the vibrations caused by their shaky figure across the floor. In the dark of the room, he opens a cabinet to find scared!you.
And his field of vision, which was locked onto Kaidou all this time, shifts. It gets bigger as he stares into your scared eyes, glossed over with tears trickling down your face, your expression is drowned in fear as you look up at him. Unknown to the feelings running through him.
The feelings, the emotions he buried long ago now seemed to resurface, looking at your sweat-covered forehead, his eyes travel over your form, they remain frigid, even as his heart rate speeds up, even as the world around you becomes darker, even as his breathing becomes heavy.
Up until now, only Kaidou existed, for Kaidou. With Kaidou. Now the narrow view of him widens as you, a mare civilian join the everlasting space that exists inside of him. Your eyes so bright, filled with fear attract him. Your face shape, so tender and beautiful. You are the only color that exists in the dark, the only light in the endless tunnel.
The house is dark, but you emit light, you stick out even when he has stopped using Observation Haki. You make him feel warm in a way that he has never experienced before.
His heart is beating faster and faster the longer your eye contact lasts, his wind was knocked out of his lungs by the time he moved.
As he takes you by your arm, you stay quiet in fear of what he could do, quivering as he wraps his fingers fully around your arm. Your legs are frozen, acting like dead meat when he drags you out of the untouched house, they barely move when you realize the situation you got into.
He doesn't answer your questions of what he is doing or where he is taking you, his ears only picked up your voice, so angelic and clear in the sparks of fire that lit your garments, your skin and hair shining in beautiful reds and yellows, though he would enjoy seeing your natural colors. In a setting much cooler, and less tragic than this.
His world warps once again, he doesn't falter when Jack tosses a strange look his way as he gets closer to their ship.
He remains unaffected by your insults and weak attempts to set yourself free from his grasp. His natural strength is much greater than yours will ever be.
He ends up taking you to his room, barely remembering the path he took to get there and the faces he must have come across. He only lets go of you when the door is locked.

i love lunarian!sanji!!! i read the fic too and as soon as i saw the ask i knew they must have read it and gosh now i keep imagining a baby winged sanji and his traumatized dad fleeing germa and vegapunk and getting separated smhow and finally reuniting on a battlefield where they are supposed to be enemies. and like what if, like in the fic, sanji and king are the ones who fight each other? would they fight each other? or would they feel more loyalty to their respective captains? how would the aftermath of wano's liberation look like for king the wildfire? gosh, do the strawhats even know king is sanji's dad?
Hey sorry this took forever to get to but I want to address they did fight. Sanji fought King in the raid suit which probably did something to King, BUT!!!! If Sanji fought King instead of Zoro? Gods the heartbreak. Let's take it from the top though! For the ultimate heartbreak!
Alber breaking them out and running with bruised and battered son and his wings are atrophied so he can't fly so they sail away from the monsters. Alber is working on fixing his wings and his son so they can fly and be more comfortable. They do eventually start flying together, Alber has to teach Sanji how to fly but it's relatively instinctive for them and he learns to fly quickly. They fly more often than not, dodging the government and Germa and Vegapunk. Then they're separated by a freak storm, the winds throwing them around and they can't hear each other.
Sanji finds himself on the cruise liner and Albermakes his way to Wano after unsuccessfully finding his son and losing him. He takes the name King and mourns his son. Everything goes the way it normally does until Sanji insists on settling this with King. Because they're both hurt, they've fought once already, Sanji felt abandoned and King thought he was dead. They need to talk but they need to fight as well.
I feel like the fight would be a lot of screaming and yelling about Sanji using Germa tech, King thinking he was dead, Sanji feeling like he's been abandoned again. Sanji breaks the raid suit and looks at King because something is wrong, terribly wrong, and they both know it and maybe in a moment of tenderness King gives him a moment to breathe which is when Sanji makes the call and the death pact, which angers the elder to the point of telling his Sanji he won't need the swordsman because he'll kill him here and now.
He doesn't though. King looks at Sanji after the fight, who is terrified of what has happened, of fighting King and how it's all so fresh after WCI that Sanji feels like he's losing it and can't keep finding those who abandoned him, hurt him in one way or another. King probably reaches for Sanji but Sanji bolts away. King decides to help the Strawhat crew, to start righting some of his wrongs.
He shocks the crew after the raid and Kaido is defeated and is presenting the crew and Yamato his services as part of the fleet. Sanji is staring at his dad as he is talking to Luffy and Yamato and Luffy is like 'Heh, sure! Sanji's dad can be part of the fleet! But you should talk to Zeff!' and Zoro comments that's where Sanji's wings came from and Nami looks so dead. She is exhausted and asks Sanji how many dads he could possibly have and Sanji says he only has two people he considers his father and Judge isn't one of them, don't worry, Darling.
Also I feel like Sanji would fly Nami around Wano or other islands to get more accurate maps. I don't know, I feel like I needed to put that here.

Disparate Wano thoughts in three parts:
Having the context of the full arc is great and helps to see the intent with so many aspects of the story Wano is telling.
Zoro and King
I love how Zoro and King view their positions in their respective crews. Zoro awakens conqueror's haki for his own reasons, while maintaining his promise to Luffy, in spite of becoming a conqueror himself. King has the name of a conqueror, though it was given to him by another. King only strives to serve Kaido, he isn't chasing any personal ambitions, gives up much of his individuality in the process, including his original name, Alber. Unlike Zoro, King has no best friend, no Kuina. King's lack of his own identity and goals is also expressed by his final attack being an imitation of Kaido's dragon form.
When King's and Zoro's final attacks clash, Zoro ultimately stands as the victor, not having given up any of his individuality in the process, and masters Enma as a result. Zoro's final attack isn't an imitation of any of Luffy's or of Oden's, in spite of wielding one of Oden's blades. He gives himself the title of King of Hell, and maintains his own ambition apart from helping his captain become Pirate King, while also honoring his promise to Kuina. All of the aspects which King stumbled over, Zoro surpasses and becomes a true king.
Bushido and Pride
No dancing around the issue, the samurai of Wano absolutely have a problem with trying too hard to be self sacrificial at times, Usopp is 100% in the right to call it out in 1036.
That was the whole deal with Ashura Doji's men going to Onigashima ten years too early, they went to their deaths for the sake of their stubborn pride, nothing more. They didn't free Wano.
When Hyogoro learns that Luffy defeating Kaido will cause Onigashima to crash in 1047, he pretty much immediately flips to "I have no desire to live, go ahead Straw Hat, defeat Kaido and send us all to our deaths." I love Hyogoro don't get me wrong, though all him accepting death then does is disrespect Luffy's and Chopper's prior efforts to save him. And it was disrespectful of Kin and Kiku asking Usopp to leave them, after his own efforts to save them, plus Kin was disrespecting the efforts the crew have already put in in prior arcs helping him.
Otama and Hunger
The way everything with Tama and Luffy's promise to her ties perfectly into the harm Kaido and Orochi caused to Wano.
When we meet her, Tama doesn't have food and feels her only options are drinking water from the toxic river or taking food from Tsuru and Kiku. She decides to drink the poison river water. Kaido/Orochi don't care that the weapons factories are causing anyone outside of the Flower Capital/Onigashima to not have safe food to eat, they are both hindered by their world views.
From Kaido's perspective, it's the fault of those who are too weak to stop him, so they don't deserve to eat. Family or not, he never tried to justify his reasoning, because "that's just how the world is." And he had given up on being the one to change it.
With Orochi, he hadn't given up in the same way and it's pretty strongly implied that he captured/forced Tama's parents to work in the Udon prison mines until they died. Orochi used his family name as a reason for his vengeance, though all through out his rule, he was treating other Kurozumis as disposable(as we learn from Tama's backstory,) or as puppets, in the case of Kanjuro.
Having the full picture of Wano adds so much Luffy's promise during Act One, to make Wano a place where Tama can eat as much clean and healthy food as she wants, now that we can see exactly how Kaido/Orochi both were keeping that from happening.

Till Death Do Us Part
Written for the NSFW side of @opmlmzine 🤍
Gotta love a beautiful and healthy toxic relationships :)
[ READ ON AO3 | KO-FI | COMM INFO ]
----------
King owed Kaido everything.
His name, his freedom… his life.
He would do anything to pay him back.
—————
“Catch the Lunarian! Don’t let him escape!!”
Pointless; the moment Alber was free of his shackles, there was no way these guards, who knew nothing but how to cause pain, could catch him. His capture in the first place was his own greatest mistake, one that he’d been paying for daily since.
Fire not of his own making had licked at him, burning, scalding, melting—without ever marring his skin. Needles stabbing, knives cutting, maces smashing, feathers plucked. Torture disguised as medical tests, each day a payment for Alber—too young, too naive—daring to step into the humans’ world.
But Kaido opened the door to his cage and let him out, killing everyone who stood in their way. Leading Alber to freedom and a new life.
As Alber—King, his name was King, Alber was dead—gazed up at his broad back, his heart raced in his chest. It wasn’t from the exertion or the adrenalin of their escape; it was something different, something that burned brighter than the flames that had engulfed him mere hours earlier, sharper than the blades carving into his flesh just yesterday.
Was it love or teenage adoration? Or was it simply gratefulness, twisted into something darker and more powerful than anything King had known until then?
It didn’t matter.
The reason didn’t matter; whatever the case, King would follow this man anywhere. He would fight for him until he drew his last breath, would support him until he came to rule the seas.
Whatever the cost.
—————
A shiver ran up King’s spine as Kaido’s rough hands stroked his sides, dancing over his naked skin. King arched his back, his wings spreading to their full size until they covered Kaido’s entire bed, as well as most of his room.
Finally, Kaido’s hands settled on King’s hips, gripping them so hard King thought the bones might break. Which would be fine with him, more than fine. Anything to satisfy his captain. Anything to keep Kaido from leaving.
He moaned when Kaido pulled him towards himself, burying himself even deeper inside.
Every time they did this, every time they had sex like this… Kaido was all King could feel. All that mattered. Their bodies fitting together, melting into one. Sweat mixing with blood that trickled down his back from where Kaido would bite into his neck or rip out fistfulls of feathers. Reminding him who he belonged to while filling the emptiness inside him again and again and again. Leaving him open and raw and content like no one else ever could.
Like no one else would ever be allowed to.
“Ka—Kaido… san…” King gasped, grasping at the sheets to keep a hold of himself.
Kaido didn’t say anything. He never did.
Never made so much as a sound.
Simply using King until he was spent and then some more, before leaving without a word.
King didn’t mind.
—————
The moment King walked into the room, he could feel Queen’s gaze on him; it was obvious the man was itching to ask something but decided to be as annoying about it as he could first. Which was about as much as King could expect from the irritating menace he was forced to call his crewmate.
Taking a deep breath, King rubbed at the bridge of his nose. He really didn’t have the patience for this today.
“What?” he snapped.
“The girl Kaido’s been sleeping with disappeared,” Queen said nonchalantly as if he was discussing the weather.
King paused for a moment. “Not the first time that’s happened.”
Queen hummed in agreement. “True. Which in itself is strange. Whoever might be so pissed about it that they make every woman Kaido spends more than five minutes with disappear?” He gave King a pointed look, eyebrow raised, and a knowing smirk on his lips.
“Are you saying it’s jealousy?” King asked flatly.
“Not really,” Queen replied with a careless shrug. “Just saying it’s funny.”
“I wouldn’t call this funny.” King made a face. It was hidden by his mask, but judging by the amused look Queen gave him, it was obvious anyway.
“Of course you wouldn’t.” His obnoxious laughter rang around the room, grating on King’s nerves. “Know anything about it?”
“Of course not,” King replied quickly, maybe a little too quickly.
“Uh-huh,” Queen hummed. “Just like you didn’t know anything when we found Yamato sobbing over her mom’s dead body last year?”
“What are you implying?” King asked, keeping his voice carefully measured.
“Nothing,” Queen sang, taking a long drag of his cigar.
They didn’t say anything after that.
—————
King sighed as he watched Yamato gulp down an entire onigiri in one go. He had to wonder how long it had been since the teenager had eaten—days, most definitely. It was ridiculous; if only he would stop yelling about Oden, then he wouldn’t have to sneak around like this, surviving on scraps. But then again, he was Kaido’s son. Stubborn and headstrong and refusing to bend to anyone’s opinions, no matter the cost—in Kaido’s case, it was cost that had to be paid by others. While Yamato… Yamato had to pay the price himself.
“I don’t know what the deal is between you and dad but it’s completely fucked up. Just so you know,” Yamato noted as he bit hungrily into the raw salmon King had brought him.
Raising an eyebrow, King gave the young boy a once-over. Of all people, he’d have thought Yamato would be the last one to find an issue with that. “Are two men in a close relationship that strange to you?”
“What?” Yamato tilted his head to the side, his face scrunched up into a confused frown. “No! That’s not what I mean! I’m just saying you’re completely fucked in the head. Like seriously insane.”
King snorted. He couldn’t help it; Yamato was so blunt and rude while sounding so sincere about it. It was… adorable.
“Thanks for the concern,” King said with a chuckle as he handed Yamato a napkin. “Wipe your face, you have fish everywhere. And drink some water.”
Yamato didn’t respond; he simply stared at the napkin blankly, before he raised his eyes to look at King and suddenly, King felt like he was the salmon and Yamato was about to sink his teeth into him.
“You know, no matter how hard you try, you won’t become my mom.”
King flinched at Yamato’s words. They stung, right in his heart, his soul. It should have been obvious, it was obvious, but hearing it was crushing regardless.
But Yamato wasn’t done. He kept talking, his next words feeling even more like a knife in his gut; like the torture he had lived through so many years ago. “Neither will dad make you his ‘till death do us part’. He’s incapable of that. He’ll sooner kill you himself. You’ll make a squish, like a bug.”
King was silent for a long while, studying the honest, almost concerned look in Yamato’s large eyes. Eyes that looked nothing like his father’s—warmer, kinder, softer. And yet, King still preferred Kaido’s.
Finally, King opened his mouth to speak, his words quiet and simple. “I know.”
Yamato heaved a sigh, then turned back to his half eaten fish. “As I said, fucked in the head.”
King huffed in amusement at Yamato’s frustration. But what could he say? What could he do?
After all, ‘till death do us part’ didn’t necessarily need two people. It was a promise that only one party needed to make to create a bond so powerful nothing could break it—and King had made that vow long ago.
—————
Kaido would never lose. He was the man who would stand at the top of the world, ruling over all. He was the strongest creature in all five seas; there was no one else, no one better fitted to be the one.
To be the Pirate King.
To be Joy Boy.
He was everything… and he was worth everything to King.
Fire roared in King’s ears, almost like the dragon he had created with it in Kaido’s image came alive—angry, thirsty, hungry. Ready to swallow the entirety of Onigashima’s Rightbrain Tower whole, along with the swordsman who had dared challenge King.
How long had it been since King was pushed to this point, forced to draw out his full power? Stripped off his mask, both literally and figuratively, all pretences thrown away; commanding fire like he was born to, his lunarian blood singing with satisfaction. For but a moment… he was Alber again.
But Kaido didn’t need Alber. He needed King, and King needed Kaido.
Neither of them needed Alber.
And so, Alber died once again, as fast as he came alive.
And Roronoa Zoro would soon follow him.
—————
King owed Kaido everything.
His name, his freedom… his life.
He would do anything to pay him back—even if it meant meeting the king of hell himself.
Till death do them part.

ask 2 of 3
12. How has their job affected whatever headcanon version is of the MSQ if any?
{original question collection post - curious about anything else?}
Quite a lot, actually! Especially with regards to public image and how playing specific roles led to certain things happening.
For reference, here's what the four are classed as:
Surkukteni: LNC>DRG - ROG (ARR, only actual class as ROG isn't used seriously); DRG - RDM (post ARR); DRG - DRK/MCH/AST/RDM (HVW, DRG is still main class while the others are still being learned/use sparingly); DRG > DRK - MCH/RDM/DRG/AST (post HVW-SHB, DRK becomes main class); DRK - MCH/RDM/DRG/AST/WAR (post SHB, WAR is from Ardbert); DRK + RPR - MCH/RDM/DRG/AST/WAR/MNK (ENW, other things are mixed in); DRK+RPR+MNK+DRG - MCH/RDM/AST/WAR (post ENW)
Gwendoline: CNJ>WHM* - THM>BLM/ACN>SMN/SCH (ARR, only plays role of WHM and rest are...curiosities); WHM* - BLM/SMN/SCH (post ARR, other jobs see use but still WHM main); WHM*+MCH - BLM/SMN/SCH (HVW, basically just carries a gun on her now); WHM*+MCH+BLM+SMN - SCH (STB-post ENW, she's now figured out how to multi class and has become obnoxious about it)
*SHE'S A NECROMANCER.
Teodore: BLM - WHM/SCH/SMN/SGE (ARR-HVW, needs...a lot of explanation); BLM+SCH - SMN/SGE/WHM (post HVW-SHB); BLM+SCH+WHM - SMN/SGE (post SBH-post ENW)
Seraphin: GLD > PLD* (ARR, has been a GLD for a while); PLD* - RDM (post ARR, very serious about this); PLD* - RDM/MNK (HVW-post HVW, actively working on the latter); PLD*+RDM - MNK (STB-post ENW, MNK is more of an outlet than anything)
*He was not trained by the Sultansworn and is more of a rogue PLD, more below
The in depth stuff is below :3c
So each WoL has gone through ig a redefining of what each of their roles mean to them and the party, especially as they grow as adventurers and are confronted with things that don't particularly mesh with their preconceptions - with the exception of Teodore, but there's a reason there. Surkukteni sees the most change, Seraphin Teodore honestly sees the least out of them despite Seraphin only maining two classes - but Seraphin's two classes matter a Lot to him.
Let's start with Surkukteni.
The entire reason why she started with LNC was because it was what her captain Kitase was familiar with, and thus she was taught it. So she does not go to Ywain with no experience and instead comes in with naginata experience. Between her bullheadedness and leftover training from a former Doman soldier (plus her siding with Foulques), it makes early ARR!Surkie very prone to resisting teaching from Eorzeans. She picks up ROG more as a side gig than anything (which many of the skills from that will become useful), but her being an obnoxious 20something is what gets her thrown into Coerthas. Ywain sent two potential candidates to Alberic when the request was put through: Lillith (the genuine one, because he wasn't aware this was a way to shove accountability onto a foreigner) and Surkukteni (who he wanted to see broken by the much more rigid training structure of the Dragoons). This leads to confusion as to who the Eye picked between the two, but unfortunately for Ywain, the better candidate was Surkukteni - entirely because. I mean she's fucking based on Vergil Sparda while Lillith is a goody-two-shoes butch who just wants to find his dad (because ofc he does, he was a Lone Wanderer with the highest possible good karma originally); of course Surkie's the better candidate. So this bleeds into the public image of the Warrior of Light as "the Azure Dragoon Cloaked in Ivory," in part because she shifted from the "obnoxious greaser/biker in all black leather" to the white uraeus overcoat she began to favor in part because it made it easier to jump people from above (same logic as to why so many birds and fish have darker backs but lighter bellies), but also because she's an edgy bitch it's just flipped for her (she was a Borlaaq who are devoted to Nhaama and have the dark color scheme of black/purple/blue+some reds, and was raised in Hingashi by a Doman; she views dark colors as the more virtuous stuff because of Nhaama, but because of that same belief + Doman and Hingan ones, white is more associated with death. She's conscious of how Nhaama's colors are used, so she's openly edgy with both but Eorzeans didn't get the white association so it peters off eventually). So DRG became Surkukteni's identity as a Warrior of Light, and it influenced initial stuff with Ishgard more favorably...at first. It was at first, it doesn't really last because this is while Surkukeni's still under the hyur glamour and only Alberic (and Estinien, actually) know that she's an au ra.
During post-ARR, Surkukteni (and Seraphin) meet X'rhun - and because he's met prior to Stormblood, his offer to train them is more based in what he sees immediately. Yeah, he knows that the two are Warriors of Light, but he's more interested in their character and how they respond immediately. While Surkukteni is at her most obnoxious and sardonic, he extends the offer to her and this matters a lot because it's him extending her a courtesy she's never gotten before. She's outwardly auri at this point, but she's more surprised he's willing to work with her given her extremely volatile and powerful aether. She was rejected from every guild on the grounds of her being a liability to herself and those around her, so having someone be willing to slow down and work with her based on her needs? Yeah, it catches her off guard and it allows her to begin to learn magic through red magic. This is her first teacher since Kitase to actually care to teach her from the get go (Alberic doesn't count, it took a while for the priority to shift) and she ends up very close to the guy just because he took the time to meet her where she was at and help her grow into her style of red magic (which leans more into her Dominants (ice/levin/water) than the standard stuff). This nets her an ally in the Crimson Duelists, and becomes important down the line.
DRK becomes the most important aspect of Surkie's classes even if it's not her main one in HVW. She gets through the intro stuff very quickly, but the important impact is the fact that she's taken to getting rid of Temple Knights since nothing seems to come of their horrific acts against Brumites. That opening scene gets amplified as yeah remember the skills from ROG? They apply here now plus the little caveat that DRK is yes Dark Knight, but she's more of a Demon Knight. Surkukteni has a voidsent pact at this point with a Hellhound by the name of Sétanta, and in combination with her hyur glamour from ARR, the rumors of a "heretic in indiscernible armor that's as likely to maim you by sword as they are to maim you by devil" begin to circulate like wildfire and this gets back to Surkie through Aymeric. She was doing odd jobs in a sense for Aymeric with Estinien while her allies were caught up and not allowed in (gee it's like one of them was caught in the act of working with necromancy or something), so she does a lot of random stuff around Central and Western Coerthas along with the Sea of Clouds. It's during one of the meetings where they're going over recent heretical activity and attacks that Aymeric lets slip that there's been an increase of Temple Knight deaths from within the city. Estinien, to no one's surprise, is pretty pissed about it and assumes that some heretic must have slipped past their grasp - but he's mostly worried about how this is going to reflect onto Aymeric. So he's not catching onto what Aymeric sees, and that's the fact that Surkie keeps coming into meetings with injuries that don't line up with how easy these jobs were - and how much it isn't like her to be getting into petty fights (this was the only thing he misread about the situation - that was her excuse because she's picked so many fucking fights). What led him to this assumption was: the fact that the blood that he saw on her was weirdly dark, much like the fouled blood rumored of Dark Knights; she was seen more around Sidurgu; and she's the only one he knows of with a glamour that can mask traits like horns and tails. So after the meeting talking about the new Dark Knight, he asks her to deliver a letter to someone working on the Dark Knight case, which is so fucking obviously bait. Surkie tries to not fall for the bait, but it gets at her anyways and she opens up the letter to find a list of names and an already signed envelope addressed to Aymeric, so clearly meant for return. Against her better judgement, she investigates the names and finds them all to be Temple Knights? And each has done something pretty reprehensible, but she's pretty sure this must be some trap. But again, against her better judgement she hunts them all down because she doesn't want to allow them the free reign they already have since someone down the line of command is openly covering for them and against Aymeric's orders - which is almost definitely motivated by who he is. She delivers a "letter from Camp Cloudtop", and is handed one that's "for Falcon's Nest". She's well and truly been found out, but this goes on back and forth through HVW until she gets a letter asking her to come to his home in civilian clothing so they may discuss a more sensitive job in person. AND SHE STILL DOES IT, she still shows up and this is when they're finally on an upfront basis of what these jobs are and who's who and it's also where he admits to the fact that he's trans and these next names were extremely sensitive because they were people who were onto him and they needed differing levels of dealing with. So while HVW is going on, Surkie's got this whole fucking side job where she's acting as Aymeric's hitman and getting that much closer with him - and part of what let him know what was up was because Sidurgu's his ex, so he was already familiar with this. So when she's finally working with her allies again and they start seeing the DRK stuff slip in, they're all extremely confused because Surkie just seemingly pulled this out of her ass.
HVW is where it really gets messy. As the other Azure Dragoon, Surkukteni initially gets a few more privileges in regards to Ishgard than the others - to where she's the only one of the group who's initially allowed into the city (along with Alphinaud and Tataru, since they were vulnerable). She's still there on the graces of House Fortemps, but most of this is carried on her title. HOWEVER. This immediately backfires with the heresy charges and the trial by combat, in which she is now landed with Significantly more charges than the others - including those who are still trapped in Camp Dragonhead - by virtue of the fact that they were expecting a Highlander and they got an a 6'1" auri bitch. Instead of seeing it for what it was, they saw it as her revealing her heretical nature to get access to one of the most vaunted positions within the military and to destroy it from the inside out. Because of fucking course. Obviously, she wins but this haunts her during the limbo of trying to get her party into the city (because even the others like W'khittri and her siblings are stuck). She's trusted by the likes of Aymeric, Lucia, Estinien, and Handeloup since they know better, but the general populace just saw her for what happened in the trial by combat - so all of that capital she could've used as the Azure Dragoon doesn't work as well because they see her as the assumed-heretic Azure Dragoon. So it's during this limbo that she goes and tries to find things to occupy herself with and it results in being dragged off the street by Jannequinard and being taught astromancy. She tries to argue that it won't work, but he won't hear it and she learns anyways - mostly from Leveva, but y'know. Yes, the tarot and star stuff becomes a way for her to connect with an aspect of her home culture, but mostly she connects with this due to the secret fate stuff going on. This - however - isn't really applicable to HVW's story; instead, it's the gd butterfly wing flap turned into a hurricane that bites them in the ass in post SHB. What does matter is when she went to go investigate a body in the Brume and wound up with a lot of trauma.
But this is also where her connection with being a Dragoon was shattered, as she began to view it as something frankly horrific because of what her role was in the Dragonsong War, how close she got to Ysayle, and then everything at the end. The shift to DRK was already happening since Seraphin was injured pretty badly and needed to back off but also because Surkie was disgusted by what she had done to get there. The hard shift came when Nidhogg - with Gae Bolg - injured her so severely that she couldn't keep up with it. She tried one last time at Rhalgr's Reach, but by then that was that. She gave up the lance in favor of a claymore because she was too physically injured to keep up and Zenos had shattered the spear tied to her identity. Sure, she kept up with the other classes and being a RDM gave her some advantage with the Resistance and working with X'rhun advanced some of her other studies, but at this point that image of the Azure Dragoon Cloaked in Ivory was gone. Unable to continue in that class and having it thoroughly ruined by its history, she fell hard into DRK and found that her shit mood only helped fuel it (NOT A GOOD THING). Her inability to continue as a DRG was something that wound up coloring how she interacted with Estinien during the Steppe stuff for drg70, especially since the final nail was Zenos' fault. RDM70 gave her the three scars over one eye, her work with X'rhun and the side trip to the Steppe wound up with this spur the moment idea that WORKS and that's sending the teenaged Borlaaqi with the potential for red magic to be trained by him, which built interest and thus more people getting involved in the revival in Ala Mhigo but also it fostered good relations between the two groups, some of the Borlaaqi stayed as Crimson Duelists, while others took the magic back to the Steppe to work with it further. So now there's just a bunch of deadly teenagers with foreign magic that are gonna be so obnoxious during the Naadam.
It's more that the lack of being a DRG is what impacts Surkie through everything. She didn't get the chance to redefine it in the way Estinien managed to since she's unable to keep up. She leaned further and further into DRK, especially as breakdown after breakdown and pain over seeming to lose Ysayle gave her a fragile yet extremely potent form of power through the class itself. And through SHB, this was how Norvrandt was introduced to their Warrior of Darkness, which fit all too well and kinda had her spiralling. Dark Knight has resulted in Esteem acting as someone who can talk for her and talk her through stuff, Esteem is now actively recognized by the Scions and people she works with. Esteem is as apart of MSQ as much as regularly recurring non-Scion npcs tbh.
Post SHB is where AST comes back to bite Surkie in the ass because Werlyt and Zadnor are heralded by the addition of a new party member: Krystsyng. Who they are quick to discover (thanks to Teodore) is an agent of the Forum sent to hunt down Leveva and her pupil. And Krystsyng figured out Surkie quick, and so there is a running plot up until half way through Endwalker of trying to deal with the fact that the Forum didn't let up like they said they would, and Krystsyng would see Surkie dead. ...Until she's called off and now she's just this menacing neutral figure that is way too friendly with them, but that's for post ENW.
.............surkies class situation is messy anyways
MNK is tacked on as something for Surkie's recovery period between 5.55 and 6.0, since this is when she has the twins. She picks it up to stay active early on, but W'khittri helps her get more into it post-delivery to help her get back up on her feet and maybe help her get back into DRG. It's a bonding activity between Surkie and her sister's girlfriend, and while she doesn't fully class as it, fundamentals are now incorporated into her other classes. This is also when she summons Diarmuid Ua Duibhne as her Reaper contract. This part is crucial because of how it ties back to Donovich, Saoirse, and even Ammut. Diarmuid is 13th Estinien, aka Donovich; Donovich was the younger brother of Cylva, and a close companion to Saoirse; Saoirse is 13th Surkie who is now the Morrigna; Ammut (Surkie's previous life) was executed by Amon with Diarmuid, and now Surkie is using Diarmuid as her voidsent. Beyond it affecting her combat, she has now thrown herself into a further chaotic situation with Fandaniel and Tiamat, and it makes Fandaniel more of an antagonist than Zenos just by the virtue of her being Ammut and seeming to just drag up everyone from that past. Diarmuid is equally as much of an involved character as Esteem, and if she hadn't summoned him she might have just died in the void. He fused with her to get her back to the Ragnarok in time (not the canon stuff by any means) and so now RPR has evolved in a sense because she's now half Voidsent. She's got a deeper connection with 6.X, she has more direct info about the turf wars, she's now a direct target because of who she fused with (ty Saoirse, you're so fkn helpful), all of the trial fights have been 1v1s because of RPR stuff, and in order to even have that contract to begin with Surkie had to swear to work on restoring the 13th, which was already in the plans. She does start to get DRG back, and putting an end to Zenos does help her start to work through things, but what really marks her shift in attitude is that her relationship with being a Dark Knight has finally and firmly reoriented itself away from trauma and more towards keeping her loved ones safe. Because she went from "messy relationship with friends/co-workers she's sure would abandon her + messy sibling relationship = feels alone constantly" to "she suddenly has a lot of romantic partners, three of which are her fiances, and also she's a parent now??" very quickly. And it forced her to reconcile quickly so she could be more self sustainable and get her priorities straight.
so like the gist of it is that the DRG>DRK pipeline was Surkie learning that her original goals were very off (she sought power; she needed agency) and the way it affects msq is that it's the tangible mark of her growth as a person and how she's really grown for the better. Her classes are more of how she's viewed, but some - like RDM, AST, MNK and DRK - have led her to forge deeper bonds and allegiances with others as well as create powerful enemies that won't leave her alone lmao
More than anything, her spells allow her to not only gain a better understanding of people and how the world works - driving her through her own curiosity - but it also backfires in that she's constantly getting into hot water over the legality of her studies. And she wouldn't want it any other way because she loathes the fact that stuff (like phytomancy) is illegal for deeply petty reasons. It allows her to shift into working with the alchemists of Radz-at-Han, it gives her a place at the Great Work, and she's one of the people who helped develop a vessel for Venat after Endwalker to keep her around. She wants to keep challenging what people understand and think of magic while simultaneously redefining stuff that has been scorned. Her classes are her story, and they both help and hurt msq because she's stubborn and she's the fucking necromancer.
Onto Gwendoline.
Gwendoline's relationship with classes and MSQ is interesting because her entire reason for hiring Surkukteni in the first place was a scapegoat and alibi should she get caught in her studies. She's a very skilled CNJ and ALC from the get-go, but she prioritizes necromancy, some aspects of voidsent summoning, and eventually white magic, black magic and other banned magicks. She has a very antagonistic relationship with magical law, will not shut up about it, and will not stop breaking said law because she has a personal vendetta against it for very valid reasons. Part of what allowed her to become a skilled CNJ was the fact that she is a chirurgeon for a medical underground in Gridania that takes in people that are shunned by the Guild and any healers. This means poachers, outcasts, and most notably (and importantly) refugees. She knows from intimate experience with various magicks and these groups that most of the arbitrary bans are hurting more than helping and she refuses to fall in line with them. Her entire interaction with MSQ is causing problems with her classes to challenge their very bans because she's VERY cocky and she would love to try and see someone stop her.
She views necromancy as an extension of her conjury, especially since it's helped her expand her abilities in ways that include stasis and other forms of preservation to keep someone at the state they're in so that they don't run out of time. Over the course of ARR, she picked up what magicks she could for the sake of learning, and wound up falling deeply into black magic and summoning to a degree, but mostly to see how she could implement them into her already expansive abilities.
Yeah she's a lot like Y'shtola in this regard it's no wonder they're together. It also makes it very obvious as to why she works so well with Teodore, later Katsuro, and then later also gets with Nidhana: she values intellectual curiosity and this is how she navigates her own jobs. They're useful tools, but she sees them as something for her to tinker with and expand beyond what the nations allow. It's through this that she revives phytomancy to a degree (which is something I came up with; it's a nymian attempt at replicating white magic that has vestigial spells in arcanima through bio and all the other spells) because it's through phytomancy that they bring back the "graft" spell to aid in Surkukteni's recovery from Nidhogg, then implement it on a wider scale since its use as temporary flesh could save a lot of lives that current healing magic can't address.
Teodore's main proficiency is Black Magic, and a lot of his studies are looking into the classical spells of Mhachi mages and trying to figure out if they've documented everything that was available. While he was in Sharlayan, he used to cycle through jobstones due to the fact that each one held various experiences and often very different spells depending on the original user and what point in the 5th era they were from. This work has manifested in what was originally a very middling stone from the 5th era that wasn't anything special being used as his stone and a culmination of his research. So while it wasn't really anything better than a paper weight, it now contains a plethora of spells from across the reign of Mhach that range from "vestigial black magic in thaumaturgy" to "spells that were likely only used by the likes of Shatotto or other mages of legend or infamy". His goal through ARR - and this influences where they go and what they're involved in - is to create stones that act as an entire database of Black Magic, which is then applied to all of his other stones - with WHM and SCH having fairly high priorities. He maintains SMN as a way to see if he can manifest egis separate from the usual affair - especially with that known limit of 3 egis + demi- summons - which again leads the group down some weird diversions into what primals he wants to seek out. SGE is the only one that's not for research purposes as that's actually his stone. It's what he learned prior to getting into magical history, preservation, and experimentation. Like Gwen, he inherently challenges the idea of why these things are banned...but unlike Gwen, he's not keen on breaking the law that lets him have this power because he genuinely cares about preservation! It's just he can't do that preservation if everything is dead!! So yes, Sharlayan comes up quite a lot because he's in a lot of shit - politically and academically - for getting involved in Eorzea's business. His ability to be in Eorzea as a Black Mage is tied together, and he ends up developing more spells as time goes on just by virtue of that adventuring. So yeah he's another problem in that he's using illegal magicks like Gwen, but he's also breaking Sharlayan law like Surkie and that has consequences later into the story.
Teodore is a lot like Gwendoline in the regard that his magic directly correlates with his story. He's the only one of the group who openly wields 3rd and 5th era magic without being apart of the guilds initially. The reason being is that he's a fairly renowned experimental magician - a sage in the classic FF sense and not the XIV sense - and has all of these jobstones on loan from the Forum for his research on the condition he doesn't meddle in local politics.
That condition was long broken and he hasn't obeyed it since the fight with Ifrit.
And finally, onto Seraphin.
What's funny about Seraphin is that his main class doesn't have as much impact on story as his side class ends up having. Seraphin is a gladiator to make money for his family; he is also one of the best on the Bloodsands as of ARR, but he doesn't enjoy it which is what leads to the bodyguard work and why he and Teodore got caught in the Ifrit bullshit when they weren't involved with MSQ prior to it. If anything, Seraphin didn't want to be involved in MSQ because he was still a gladiator and he still needed to support his family first and foremost. But as he was exposed to the Scions and the state of things outside of it, his goals started to get lofty - especially with regards to the liberation of Ala Mhigo and getting his family back to their homeland. Which is why even if he is a canon Paladin, he is not a sultansworn. One of the problems through ARR is how the party deals with Ul'dah and its governing bodies, and beyond what I already said about Little Ala Mhigo and the Amalj'aa in that other answer, a sticking point is the fact that Seraphin is hired to take down a rogue Paladin, but ends up joining him instead. This is someone who's well versed in the old practices and is more in line of the morality of what Paladin should be, instead of just a cop for the Sultana and Syndicate. Seraphin holds an illegal jobstone, and this is frequently used against him as they try to work with the Grand Companies - and he doesn't like any of this! He tries to keep his head down to not draw attention by the Brass Blades or Immortal Flames, yet now he's embroiled in this nonsense because he wanted to do the right thing. It means that every interaction with Ul'dah is made significantly harder because an Ala Mhigan Duskwight refugee is embarrassing the Sultansworn through outperforming them, is working with someone who broke from them to begin with, and is aiding the local tribes. Frankly, they don't even need to do the false regicide plot (even though they do) because they were already building a case against Seraphin prior to being named Warrior of Light. Branching out and learning from Ishgardian Paladins (another state institution, he doesn't stick around with them) and even from Skuld (who is a ~120yo Sharlayan Paladin trying to get that part of herself back) lets him figure himself out and what Paladin means to him, and it sort of ends up a blend of Cloud's initial energy in ff7 to something more like Cecil after he ditched the dark knight stuff and became a paladin in ff4. It's not state affiliated, it's entirely morality driven, and it's the other side of the coin to Surkie as a Dark Knight because it's doing the right thing For The Sake of doing the right thing on a very wide scale vs doing the right thing to protect those closest to you. Like Surkie, this becomes tied to his identity; and like Surkie, he suffers a grievous wound that makes it difficult to keep up (Fenrir mauled his leg in Snowcloak) so he shifts to two things to help with recovery.
MNK and RDM mean a lot to Seraphin due to their connections back to Ala Mhigo, but RDM means the most to Seraphin. MNK is an outlet for him that he initially picked up from W'khittri (like Surkie) but continued to train in it with the likes of Widargelt and Lyse as something to keep his mind off of the stress of Stormblood and potentially losing his homeland to the Garleans again since shit was looking bad. He doesn't really use it in serious combat and just handles it as a social thing - not that it doesn't help with the others, he just doesn't main class it like W'khittri.
RDM is the one that has a lot of importance due to the fact that he grew up on stories of the Crimson Duelists and really admired them, and now he's working directly with X'rhun. Where Surkie goes off to utilize that to learn how to better manage her aether while making connections elsewhere, Seraphin is the one to work directly with X'rhun to build the Crimson Duelists back up with members of the Resistance and help train them. He does this, in part, through the Doman half of Stormblood since he's in Gyr Abania then, but building up a new faction of Crimson Duelists is something he works on while X'rhun continues to travel to see if he can help others. This means there's a fair group by Endwalker to help with things, and this means he has an outlet during post Endwalker and something to occupy himself after the "disbanding" of the Scions. When I said that this has the most story impact, I mean it in the sense that the most changes because now there is a fairly strong revival of the Crimson Duelists compared to the handful of practitioners as seen in canon. PLD has a lot of consequences early on, but it's more personal stuff for Seraphin; RDM, however, now has an entirely new dynamic and function within MSQ because he is one of the people working to revive the spellcraft. He's also the only one of the group who's not immediately torn into by Sharlayan, and frankly they want to see if he or X'rhun would be down to help archive what they know of the magic and what Seraphin (and Surkie, tbh) have developed beyond its standard teachings. There are way more Red Mages in this version of MSQ - and a VERY diverse group of them, btw - than in canon as Seraphin doesn't want to let this die. This is a part of his identity and it's a facet of reclaiming part of what Garlemald destroyed by working on this facet of restoration.
And that's.
That's a lot but that's it! :D
god help me.

WoL Spotlight: Etienne Vernoux-Livreau de Guillemette
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Etienne Vernoux-Livreau (de Guillemette)
Etienne's mother, Marianne Vernoux, worked as a barmaid at the Forgotten Knight in Ishgard. She had a one-night stand with Ser Pierre Livreau, a Holy See lancer from House Guillemette. Marianne kept Etienne's existence a secret from Pierre.
He spent his early childhood living with his mother in the Brume. He helped in the tavern by waiting tables and running errands. Etienne knew his way around Ishgard's dark alleys and streets. Whenever adventurers came to the Forgotten Knight, he begged them for stories about their travels.
Marianne fell ill and died when Etienne was 11. Pierre went to her bedside and was dumbstruck that she never told him that he had a son. Pierre decided to give his son a better life and took him to be trained as a squire.
Unfortunately, Etienne discovered that he was a strong talent for magecraft. During a skirmish with bandits, he defended his father and a group of trainees with offensive magic. The Inquisitors of the Holy See found out about this and took his to be trained as an Inquisitor over his father's objections.
His time with the Inquisitors scarred him, and left him with a cynical attitude towards magic in general and odd habits and phobias. Etienne escaped to Gridania when he was 16, and became an adventurer and a lancer-for-hire.
He didn't return to Ishgard until Heavensward. Count Edmont had known his father. (Pierre had conveniently 'sought Halone's Halls' during a skirmish with dragons. Edmont suspected the Inquisitors had arranged Pierre's demise, though he couldn't prove it.) It was that (and Haurchefant's good word) that convinced him to take him as a ward. Etienne met Ser Alberic Bale, the former Azure Dragoon, who helped train him as a Dragoon.
Later he met and married his wife, a Xaela named Bess Dotharl, who is a cousin of Sadu. During their courtship, they sparred, and she kicked his arse. He married her anyway. They went to work for Captain Lear Dzamael's mercenary company in Ishgard.

Beyond the obvious secret, Alber knows/keeps the secret knowledge of the extent of his Captain's depression. The Beast Pirates are a meritocracy, so he is aware that many would see the suicidal tendencies as a weakness. He knows that this would end in far more dead crew members than he wishes to be bothered with, so he ensures that the news of Kaidou's suicide attempts are never found out
👍 for a headcanon about things they like:
Alber craves touch, to the point that the few times he has skin contact with another person he leans into the touch as much as possible, in an almost desperate way as he seeks the warmth and feeling. He most of all likes when someone is touching his hair or the base of his wings, and it is a way to get him melting in your arms.
🚶‍♂️ for a habit-themed headcanon:
Alber has a habit of chewing on the inside of his cheek if he is nervous, a habit picked up when he was still on Punk Hazard. It was one of the few ways that he could self soothe during the experiments and if he was made to keep his flames inactive he could spit the resulting blood into the face of the researchers
🚬 for a headcanon about a bad habit:
Alber has a bad habit of rolling his eyes every time that Queen opens his mouth. This is frequent enough that it was mimicked when the kids were younger, and mirrored by Yamato, Jack, Ulti and Page One. Queen would often be bitching about the lack of respect when this happened, which lead to the cycle of eye rolls continuing.
Buggy:
😶 for a headcanon about a secret they know of / keep:
Buggy knew that Roger was sick. He did not know to what extent, but he was cleaning the captain's cabin on the Oro one day and found one of the kerchiefs that was covered in coughed up blood. He never told Shanks about this, nor did he let Rayleigh or Roger know that he was aware something wasn't right.
👍 for a headcanon about things they like:
Buggy likes when someone else brushes or styles his hair for him, or if they just play with his hair. This is only allowed for certain people, but he will fall asleep with them tending to his hair after he gives this trust to them.
🚶‍♂️ for a habit-themed headcanon:
Buggy is constantly looking over his shoulder, this habit was formed after learning that Teach had left a prominent scar on Shanks' face. Teach had made him uneasy during the event that ended with the Kouzukis on the Oro and that did uneasiness did not subside. He checks over his shoulder, especially when entering or leaving a building, to ensure that Teach is not there to also give him a scar.
🚬 for a headcanon about a bad habit:
Buggy's bad habit is certainly his spending habits, he will buy ridiculously expensive items because he wants them. This is done with no impulse control or looking to his finances. This is why he did not have the money when Crocodile came to collect after the dissolution of the Warlord system.
