astrology observations for sad people
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
— the signs who I personally believe are really misunderstood by their peers are often capricorns and aquarius because of their saturnian tendencies where they become the mature, bigger person or are aloof of how they're presenting themselves, they always think they know better or people feel very intimidated by their personalities and, because people don't understand them, they alienate them,
— aries and scorpio as they are very intense, over confident people, other's might feel put-off by them, they can be very controlling and have a "I don't care" kind of personality that doesn't usually goes well with others, their ways of always trying to make themselves clear and understood causes the opposite effect, they are often misjudged as villainous or mean,
— geminis are also put in a place of having to know better, not given a chance or space to mess up as they are very intelligent people and show it, others might have big expectations which are often not met since they prefer to do what makes them happy and makes them curious, they tend to over-inflate themselves, or the opposite, and people take their words too seriously or not at all, very polarizing sign.
— a stellium in 4th can be super difficult to deal with, specially if it falls on not easy planets like mars, or saturn, uranus, or pluto. These people are always dragged back to their family issues no matter how much they try to escape, their parents maybe gave them too much responsibilities as little kids or vented to their child without thinking of the consequences, if these people ever decide to have a family they should always consider if they're doing it because they want to or because it is what's expected of them.
— chiron in social signs as gemini, aquarius and libra feel very alienated at all times, having social interactions is a learning experience for them, whether is good or bad, I also notice people usually get obsessed with them? They don't respect these people¡s space or it could be the other way around, to me is a placement where you'll learn to not be socially inept or teach people how to treat you right for some reason?
— saturn IS a complicated planet, it depends on the person's other planets and aspects how they deal with saturn, a person with moon conjuct saturn has a harder time dealing with their emotions than a capricorn moon. Even when the energies are similar, they don't have the same impact.
— now, a person with a capricornian stellium or dominant does deal with the saturn energy much comfortably than a person with sun trine saturn, because they were born with it. I personally believe you accommodate, or your aspects accommodate to you as you grow and evolve as a person.
— a pisces stellium, specially if is on moon or ascendants, is very perceptive to other's opinion on them, not in a superficial way but more on a "does this person thinks i'm being fair or mean?" Let's not forget the sister sign of Pisces is Virgo, so these signs also share the analytical or more neurotic way of seeing the world. A Pisces Rising is very self-aware of how they come off to people or how they are seen, they might not show it or say anything about it, a Pisces mercury might be self-conscious about how they approach others, how their voice sounds or how they come off when talking.
— I do believe leo's have a harder time being appreciated by people, as they devote to other's so easily they could neglect themselves in the process. Is the kind of person who is always looking out for someone to make happy or to make them feel comfortable because is something they want reciprocated. But this is a thing that can happen to fire signs a lot, they can be overbearing or too kind to people that it ends up backfiring on them, they have a very childlike mentally.
— is true what they say, a 12th house stellium in a natal chart makes the person passive and/or too in their own world, they have premonitions in dreams, but I've also seen these individuals have a really hard time with sleep, they have paranormal experiences a lot that some of them are used to it. They can be in some sort of medication, but not all, and not always these people are medicated or doing substances, they have an easier time to have out-of-body experiences, like lucid dreaming or sleep paralysis, these can occur because these people are super sensitive and get easily drained and stressed. Is important they are taking care of their energy at all times, I've met many that have one, two or more 12th house placement where I've found out some other person has been doing some sort of witchcraft on them, or have a big negative energy that this 12th houser sucks accidentally.
— having a mercurial dominant or rising can be super difficult when it comes to feeling, they tend to rationalize everything too much, are easily distracted and indulgent, they are very, very anxious at all times on all situations, even if they show otherwise. they overthink things too much, are the kind to be incredibly self-aware or completely out of touch with themselves.
— the ascendant aspecting negatively the mercury gives the individual speech impediment or a very shy personality, an almost inaudible voice or a raspy one, people with this placement have a harder time getting their thoughts across, or people might misinterpret them.
— keeping the conversation going, mercury negatively aspecting saturn makes a shy and reserved person, someone who, as a kid or a teen, has problems with being heard, or people simply didn't care or asked for this person's opinions, they might had been very codependent on an adult or somebody else to talk or to get to be seen, as they grow older they learn to communicate rather excellently, they might want to treat their shyness or whatever problem they have with unwanted attention or negligence
— neptune in personal houses like the 1st, 7th, 4th or 10th is really tricky. you might ignore gut feelings bout certain individuals, or on the contrary, believe someone is good when they aren't. these people can be their own worst enemies as they are super perceptive of how they come across to others, or how others make them feel.
— neptune in the 1st is common on actors and models and singers, usually on famous people, because they can create a fantasy of how they want people to see them, or act like chameleons around people, this creates a series of identity crisis during their lives.
— neptune in 7th is prone to feel things that really aren't there? they convince themselves somebody hates them or likes them for just one interaction, these individuals are like a sponge in social situations and they take everything somebody tells them to the heart. they also are known to lie a lot to people on behalf of good manners, they like to be liked.
— neptune in 4th house has a really confusing or unclear family situation, they might adopt the role of the parent when they shouldn't, or are treated as a child even as an adult, something in their family, in what they think is normal growing up, isn't. the most likely to stay in a bad situation for many, many years because they don't know any better, or think it's normal.
— neptune in 10th, although it deals with fame and impersonal relationships, to me, is just as fundamental as the houses listed above. they don't see themselves through their own eyes, or feel like they depend on other's perceptions on themselves too much, they are confident, or pretend it really well. these individuals know how to act the part, how to commit to the bit, they never feel that sense of belonging anywhere, because they might show different parts of their personalities to different people
— for me, the hardest moons to have are capricorn, scorpio and virgo.
— capricorn moon is a strictly analytical sign, they don't feel comfortable in the moon as is where the emotions and insecurities shine the most.
— scorpio moon is a very intense sign, as opposite to the Capricorn, they can be super emotional, or completely numb, very extremist and their emotions are black or white, polarizing.
— virgo moon is extremely difficult, they don't like to have to feel things, they like to think and act with precaution and it's hard for them to let their emotions slip, the kind of friend who'd have the most practical advice to all sort of topics, a helpful hand in all situations, but when it comes to them as individuals, they let themselves be too much, their head is always at a thousand percent. From what I've gathered of this moon is that, yes, they are neurotic when it comes to certain things, but completely careless to others, and it's usually to themselves, you won't ever see a Virgo moon misbehave or dress bad, but they can hold a lot of suppressed shame or anger or sadness, like they tie it with a bow in a box and keep it locked.
— lastly, no aspect or moon or sign is bad, they are just more difficult than others, there are people with easy aspects, like sun sextile or trine jupiter, they are prone to idealization and inferiority complexes. it's true that a person that has the harmonious aspects is lazier or gets unmotivated way easier. nothing is really set in stone, you can have a moon conjunct saturn and a cancer mercury in 9th house, your way of expressing yourself is more reserved, but optimistic and even childlike. when it comes to astrology, every single aspect and sign, and house counts to describe a person.

big things that are coming
jupiter square saturn - this is a semi rare type of square. exact on august 19 but give this one a fairly generous orb since both planets move fairly slowly. it is a tension of opposites; jupiter expands and saturn contracts. neither is in its home sign so neither is particularly stronger. you will simply have to find the right balances for yourself.
ceres direct - in late august, ceres moves to finish up her sojourn through earthy capricorn, which makes for a time of high abundance, especially if you are willing to put in the typical capricornian elbow grease. by september this influence starts to fade out, so make good use of it and put in sincere efforts.
mercury direct - just a couple days after ceres direct, but in leo. virgoans and leonic and gemini folks collectively breathe a sigh of relief. broadly things get easier especially where contracts, contact, and travel are concerned.
uranus retrograde - the month of september kicks off with this electric zap of a station. the overall retrograde feels like not much, but the days immediately surrounding the station can feel shocking, roiling, and tumultuous. the bright side is the upheaval comes with flashes of brilliant insight. note them down promptly because they won't stick around long.
pluto back into capricorn - the same day as uranus retrograde later sees pluto step back into capricorn, for the last time in any of our lifetimes. be prepared to experience the last death throes of the end of an era, especially on a global stage or wherever you have unresolved plutonic/capricorn issues. is it good or bad? it depends on what is needing to end. so be also prepared to grieve, and to celebrate, and yes you can do both simultaneously.

Personal Power of the Rising Sign
To empower yourself and your life, empower and express your RISING sign and ruling planet, and avoid expressing qualities of your DESCENDANT sign, or the ruling planet of your descendant. What does this mean? Ok--
E.G. If you are a Cancer Rising, your ruling planet is the moon, your descendant is Capricorn and the ruling planet of the descendant is Saturn. If this is your rising sign, wear moon colors (grays, soft golds, pastels in general and soft metallics, black and white together, muted dark colors, but no pure stark black.) Embody the aesthetic of the moon as far as it feels authentic to you. Embody your unique moon sign-- this is your ruling planet. If you are a Cancer Rising, do NOT lean into your Saturn sign which rules your 7th house; give it little personal representation: it is meant to represent the Other in your life. Do not wear starkly tailored clothing (Capricorn aesthetic) or pure black (Capricorn aesthetic.) Do not live a very ambitious or strictly structured life; this all would be Capricornian. You are not rejecting these energies, you may better appreciate them in others in your life.
If you embody and express your descendant sign it does two things: it strengthens your enemies, weakens your Self, and repels your true partner and comrades who are meant to bring that energy into your life for you. You must be yourself so that you can receive what you want and need.
As always, take all of this with a grain of salt, but just think about embodying your rising sign vs. your descendant sign and whatever that means for you. (All signs below the break)
(Continued here:)
Let's try another example. If you are a Leo Rising, your ruling planet is the sun, you have Aquarius on the descendant, and the ruling planet of the descendant is Uranus. So, your aesthetic should be Leonian and sunny in whatever way that works for you: bright, deep and/or vivid colors, artistic, even dramatic, fun, happy, free, reds, oranges, golds, nothing is "too much" as long as it's authentically felt. Also all sportswear and athleisure is appropriate since Leo rules sports. (Sorry, Aries.)
The opposite Aquarian aesthetic is for shock value which can be mistaken as the same as the sometimes flashy/dramatic Leonian aesthetic. However, intention matters. Leo Risings should be dressing to express themselves and not to annoy the mainstream and make a political point (that's Aquarian). Both are great, no judgement, it's just the intention is a little different. Aquarius aesthetic and lifestyle is weird, quirky, avante garde, punk, revolutionary, counter culture, subversive, community-oriented or peer-oriented, experimental. Uranus represents a spontaneous, "whatever", erratic energy; again, revolutionary, reactive, oppositional, community and peer-oriented vibe. If Aquarius is your rising sign, go for it! But if you have the more common Leo Rising, do not embody your descendant. Instead you can embrace your friends who carry this energy and you express your own energy. Leo Rising energy is about leadership, art and entertainment, fun, creativity, warmth, radiance, life and growth. It is important for Leo Risings to avoid being peer-oriented. You should be passion-oriented. If you are, others will gravitate towards you, (YOU are the sun, everything does revolve around you lol) but if you are others-oriented, and not true to yourself, others will be repelled from your energy. More than any other placements, you must embody your sun sign whatever that is, because for Leo Risings the sun is your ruling planet. Now for the rest:
Aries Risings. Who skimmed that whole intro until they saw their own sign because no one has time for all that. Aries Rising-- do wear: Sports wear, athletic wear, the brightest colors, especially red, also orange, even neons. Crop tops and skin-baring outfits definitely when it's appropriate. The least amount of clothing possible that does the job. A suit, even, if that's what it takes to win. Tattoos of scary things, mainly as a means to intimidate your enemies, ideally on places you can't easily cover up, like your neck or face. Ok, obviously I'm kidding, and if you have a corporate job, you probably need to think a little more conservatively. Whatever it takes to win, and this is not selling-out for the Aries Rising because it's all about achieving that true goal, whatever that is for you. Avoid Libran aesthetic which is fancy and lazy and lacey and whatever (don't be offended, Libra Risings, I got you below ;). Aries Rising should avoid "aesthetics" in general. No one has time for that nonsense anyway if they have a real goal. You dress for winning. That's it. That's the aesthetic. Other than that, your own natural God-given body is the aesthetic. For Taurus Risings, embody your Venus sign, and embrace a Taurean vibe: earthy, sensual, practical, simple, homespun but luxurious in texture and substance-- and do not embody the opposite Scorpio energies which are intense, emotional, extreme, dark, polarizing-- avoid wearing deep, dark colors-- traditional old astrology/pagan devotees taught that Taurus Risings and Libra Risings were not to cut their hair nor get tattoos but to preserve their natural state as much as possible-- just a thought. Gemini Rising: one of Tumblrs favorite aesthetics, lol, the bookstore/academia/bookworm aesthetic, or teacher aesthetic: no color/style is off limits for Gemini Risings but do mix it up, don't lean into any one style too much, play around, keep it eclectic and rather light-- nothing intense unless you have mercury in Scorpio.
If you have Gemini Rising then your mercury sign is your ruling planet so embody that. Avoid and do not embody Sagittarian energies which are adventurous, outdoorsy, travel aesthetic, foreign, international, the aesthetic of religious iconography (seriously, if you are a Gemini Rising and you are not Christian do not wear a cross as a cute little aesthetic thing, or a nun costume, or anything like this-- it will weaken your true essence--) Gemini Risings strongly need to watch out for and avoid appropriation in general, which they are prone to since Gemini Risings tend to take nothing seriously. Gemini risings, think about who YOU ARE, and be THAT, instead of cosplaying everyone and everything else. Virgo Risings: you also get the bookstore/teacher/academic aesthetic, yay Mercury vibes! You can also lean into work wear/office wear aesthetic if you like that kind of thing. Your look should be more even and predictable than Gemini's (predictable for you, not necessarily for others), you should consider creating a capsule wardrobe. Your colors should generally be muted or earthy but whatever is comfortable for you. Express your mercury sign, that's your ruling planet. Avoid the Pisces aesthetic and lifestyle: dreamy, ethereal, lots of blues and greens and flowing fabrics, maybe a little dark or unsettling, your vibe needs to be the opposite of unsettling. Your vibe is nesting. You do better with a slightly more tailored or structured aesthetic and lifestyle, grounded and earthy. Avoid the wishy-washy, lazy, lackadaisical, dissipant Piscean lifestyle, which can work well for people with Pisces energy, but for you, keep to your routines and personal rules that you know work well for you.
Libra Risings: you are Venus-ruled, so magnify and embody your Venus sign and all things aphrodisian: your aesthetic is romantic, elegant, sophisticated, luxurious, literally nothing is too elegant or luxurious for you. Pinks and/or blues are your very best colors, and soft colors in general, but whatever is stylish. Take great care of your hair (I don't even need to tell the Libra Risings this, but I am validating it). Avoid Aries energy (bright reds and oranges, bright attention-getting looks, athletic wear, sports clothing, a competitive. aggressive or exertive lifestyle) and do not lean into your Mars sign. This Aries or Mars energy is meant to represent the Other in your life so you can appreciate these energies in others.
Scorpio Rising: you know you just want to wear black all the time, and that's cool, you should do that. And the dark sunglasses of course. No one must ever see your eyes until the moment of death. I'm kidding, you're not laughing. Okay, may I also suggest a lovely deep burgundy color, or very bright or deep dark reds in general? Possibly also dark blues. Well, it's just a suggestion, anyway. You can also benefit from the capsule wardrobe. Definitely go for tattoos, if it resonates, the more the merrier, but of course they must be meaningful. Everything you do should be deeply imbued with Meaning and layers of symbolism. Avoid embodying the Taurus energies, which are simple and plain and boring and very run-of-the-mill-- for you. These should be represented in your life via other people. See the advice for Taurus Rising above and then don't do that.
Sagittarius Rising: your ruling planet is Jupiter so lean into your Jupiter sign. Your best aesthetics are adventurous and/or celebratory. Your clothing is meant to express your joy for exploring life. You may dress like it's your birthday or Christmas every day or like you're performing in Vegas. Or alternatively, like you're going on an adventure around the world, on foot, like cargo pants with 20 pockets. Sportswear is in, loud fun playful prints are in, nothing is too silly or fun, everything should have pockets. Sagittarius Rising should still avoid appropriation obviously, but I don't really need to tell you that-- as a Sagittarius Rising you do gain inspiration from other cultures in a respectful and appropriate way where it resonates. Religious iconography is on too, rock that little aesthetic cross if you want to! Do not embody that bookish, experimental Gemini energy, this is for your friends and partners to bring into your life. Avoid the eclectic vibe or the lifestyle of "dabbling". Dabbling is for Geminis. Your energy is to pursue things ardently and at full throttle, no dabbling. Only exception is for those Sagittarius Risings who do have Jupiter in Gemini. Then you can be an ardent dabbler. I don't know how that works but it sounds cool.
Capricorn Rising: my nemesis (affectionate). You can really rock the stark black and white colors, or all black; tailored looks, suits and suitwear, office wear, film noir aesthetic: no structured look is too much for you. Even bondage wear, yikes. You can also rock a dark academia look or "old money" look. These suggestions are very Western-coded but any traditional look is good, really, whatever is considered quite stuffy or uncomfortable in your culture is the right note to hit. The darker and more structured the better. You can also wear snotty, elite brand names and jerseys of successful athletes, and generally anything that celebrates worldly success.
Avoid the Cancer vibes unless you have that Saturn in Cancer-- this means avoiding the soft draping clothes, the dressing for comfort only, the ratty old clothes with holes, that worn-in old tee-shirt-- the girl next door vibe-- this vibe is not for you and will weaken your energy. And you must achieve success and defeat your peers, right? Right? RIGHT? No, I know, I get you, so go befriend a tailor and start dressing for success like the boss that you are. Remember to gatekeep your tailor so no one else looks as good as you do. Let's see who's left. Oh, Aquarius Rising! It doesn't matter what I tell Aquarius to do, they'll dress however they want to anyway, and they should. My only caveat is basically the opposite of what I told Leo Rising: whereas Leo Rising should not dress to shock, but simply to express their creativity, and thereby they also encourage others to be true to themselves-- so cute-- Aquarius Rising SHOULD dress to shock and disturb, and not just for funsies. Funsies are for Leo Risings. You, Aquarius, are tasked with the weight of the calling to tear down the existing structures of the war machine via your aesthetic. So fuck it up. Whatever that means for you. I don't care what anyone else says, I think you CAN fit another sticker on your community-share car/scooter/skateboard, and you should. Weirdly, and this feels VERY weird to say-- do NOT lean into your sun sign. So weird, right? Yeah. IDK, just be yourself. Literally anything goes for Aquarians, as long as it's authentic and true to your principles, which I know it is.
OMG I almost forgot Pisces Rising. Do you know why? The Pisces Rising aesthetic is like a ghost. You may often dress to blend into the wall. Your other available aesthetics are Swamp Creature that just rose from the Deep and Fairy Enchantress/Enchanter, on the hunt for another human soul via trickery. Johnny Cash was a Pisces Rising who somehow embodies all of the above. So think ethereal and otherworldly. Any colors are fine, although blues and greens work best. Light or dark colors depend on whether you're blending into the wall or the Deep. Your other aesthetic is Baby which is useful when you're hungry and want people to buy you lunch or buy your album. This is mostly in the eyes, and is not gender-specific-- Pisces Rising men do the Baby aesthetic very effectively: Michael Jackson, Richard Pryor and Ryan Gosling all have those baby eyes. So does Billie Eilish, with her Ocean Eyes. Ocean is definitely another Pisces aesthetic. Whatever you do, Pisces Rising should avoid Virgo aesthetic and lifestyle, which is routine, data-driven, conscientious, practical, and boring. Be impractical and morally gray-- as an aesthetic, please, in no way am I condoning actual predatory behavior, which some Pisces Risings have been known for. :(
Well on THAT note, the point of all of this was to think about what it means to express your own true self, and not to embody things we like in others that aren't really authentic to our own selves or our own way of moving in the world. We all carry different energies and that's a beautiful thing.

Pluto enters Aquarius, Saturday, January 20, 2024
The hype of this transit is getting a little out of control so I will take this opportunity to keep it real! Nothing is going to happen over night. It will affect society as a whole more than anything else as well. As the slowest moving planet in our solar system, the transitions invoked under this energy will be a progression. How it impacts you personally requires a study of where it transits your birth chart but this belief that it’s a finite moment and everything will suddenly change is a false belief.
In the same breath I will also say that it is kind of a big deal. But in order to comprehend why, we must understand Pluto’s energies. Coined as the planet of transformation, Pluto is much much more than that. That’s just scratching the surface of what this energy is.
In placement perspective, Pluto is the last planet and furthest away in our solar system. He’s like the mysterious emo kid dressed in black hanging out in the back of the class stirring things up that nobody else can see because they’re facing forward. Pluto is all about bringing things to the surface, reincarnation, solidarity. He also giveth and he taketh away. Pluto is the eliminator but also the redeemer. The definition of death and rebirth. More specifically, the stages after death and before rebirth.
It takes Pluto 242 years to transit through every sign of the zodiac. So you can easily see its influence through historical events if you look. Empires, civilizations and societal structures all fall and rise with each zodiacal transition.
People generally see this as menacing energy because it deals with uncomfortable things. Most of all, change. His job is to uncover what is hidden in the dark and that’s rarely comfortable for most of us. But like the lotus flower that is born in the depths of the mud, the focus of these energies should be the beauty that is created as it comes into the light.
Now that Pluto is entering a new sign, we are at the dawn of all things changing from structured and disciplined Capricorn transformation to the new age Aquarius flavor. So what is being torn down and being rebuilt? What will be Pluto’s focus in Aquarius? In the next 20 years it will flip the script on topics like technology, the internet, societal groups, community connection, networking and not to be left out, Capricornian political structures. Basically, how we are all connected is about to get a complete overhaul. Pluto can be black and white and quite dramatic too so the tea is about to be spilled on topics considered taboo. We’ve been seeing these things come to the surface over the last year since Pluto dipped its toes in Aquarius early last year before its retrograde. He won’t be done with Capricorn this year either as it will retrograde back to Capricorn one more time in September doing a final sweep this year on Capricorn topics. Most of all, finances and governments. Why? Because Capricorn rules governments and societal structures and Pluto is ultimate power over the masses. What happens this year will be completely irreversible. It creates change on a collective level. Aquarius is all about societal groups as a whole as well. So significant and evolutionary changes will impact us all over the next 20 years.
Though black and white in its behavior, it is not cut and dry. There’s an unconscious drive in all of us that will influence these changes. Almost like self sabotage but for the betterment of our future. It is the back seat driver of our destiny.
So what direction are we heading in and what is your influence on that? That’s the free will part of this existence. Are you hanging on to the old structures or are you embracing the inevitable changes towards our future? As a group of people on this plane under the singular net we call earth, understand that we either make it harder on ourselves by hanging on to old ways or we float freely and easily with the currents progressively moving forward. Either way, change is coming and it won’t be easy but we actually get to decide how we go about this. This energy isn’t telling us what we don’t already know. It’s just asking us to acknowledge what requires change. What has been suppressed? Where have we been turning a blind eye? Surprise!! We can’t ignore it any more.
Personally, I plan to completely let go of the fears bestowed upon me by the people we have put in control and begin to governing myself along side the ones I love in the manner that resonates most harmoniously between us and how we see fit. I will embrace the dawning of this new era.

The Pleasant Twins Household
Spring, Year 1
Tumblr media
A weekend's quiet is humorously upended in the Pleasant home under a sky where Aquarius and Capricorn align. Angela, an online maven, finds her trendsetting aspirations paused by Sienna's Capricornian boldness as innocent prods into family lore disturb the digital airwaves. The tableau is rife with irony: Angela, with her pitch-perfect poise, now off-key in the domestic symphony, and Dustin, her partner-in-life, responding with a stoicism that belies his broke background, leaving the scene painted with strokes of familial satire. Sienna, the young provocateur, unearths the layers of Pleasant legacy with mischief that would make a delinquent proud.

mini astrology observation 🌷
I am not an astrologer, nor do I speak English, I use a translator.
I feel that moons in Capricorn are not workaholics but are addicted to recognition. They are addicted to the validation they feel when someone observes the effort they put into something as minimal as a gift. Sadly, I feel that no matter how hard they try, they don't get this special treatment they so desperately seek. It could be that Pluto in the 10th house does this to you as well. Something else to add for the moon in capricorn, I consider that those with this moon were born in a home where the mother was the face of the family, who took the "role" of the father (it sounded very macho but I mean traditional) because the father was somehow absent. Besides that, somehow, I also noticed that they reject the role that the mother took, or the mother herself, as if they did not want to be like her at all. They are usually the most loved children but at the same time the most rejected, the black sheep of the family, an instability that the Capricornian himself does not understand, that is why he seeks the "stability" or rather the peace they long for.

Rockhampton's The Capricornian, 19 September 1929
Shortly before last Christmas a friend heard me voicing my admiration for Hugos "Les Miserables," and, knowing I did not possess a copy, made a mental note— for a Christmas present. How I gloated when I saw the title! And how I groaned when I found it was a film edition, and realized what that meant! The gift was made in complete ignorance of any difference, and I value the spirit of it. But I never could bring myself to read it right through. It surely is an act of sacrilege to have stripped the story of this master writer of all that gorgeous word clothing and set it forth thus — bare and graceless. To have robbed the characters of their dignity, to have changed even their very speech, to have cut and mutilated the very plot, and then put on the market as "Les Miserables," by Victor Hugo! Why, it does not even hint at Hugo's grand thoughts, his matchless expression. And so it is with scores of other famous works, put on the market in these film editions: they are eagerly pounced on by those who do not care whether they are well read or not, so long as they appear well read. And from these they pick up a smattering that carries them along. But many a would-be student of the classics is misled by them too. In all ignorance of what film edition means, they think they are making the acquaintance of a famed work. It's not even a bowing acquaintance.

Transiting Mars enters Capricorn
Thursday, January 4 - Tuesday, February 13, 2024
A planet is said to be in its exaltation when it occupies a sign/house which it doesn’t rule, but which nevertheless tends to bring out the best in the planet. Mars is exalted in Capricorn - can you see how Mars’ energy and drive can benefit from Capricornian discipline, patience, and goal-orientation?
This, to me, is a great way to start a new calendar year - especially after Mars’ completion of moving through Sagittarius, which due to difficult aspects was basically Mars flailing around ineffectually. Mars will not flail around during its stint in Capricorn - it will define a possible goal early on, and rise to every challenging occasion.
How this might play out in Mars’ areas:
Physical strength - if our New Year’s Resolution was to “get fit,” it’s less about bodily vanity and more about how being physically strong helps us in every way. We know that “Rome wasn’t built in a day” and we apply that patience and persistence here.
Energy levels - this can be a problem area due to Cap’s tendency to “burn the midnight oil” and work until it drops, without getting adequate rest or refreshment.
Sexuality - another potential problem area due to needing to be in control and not wanting to let go. But also a considerate and thoughtful lover, traditional and steady.
How we go after what we want - we have a plan!! We aren’t always crazy about letting other people “help” us out, mostly because we want to keep in control. We’re able to stay on task.
Overall Mars moving through Capricorn will be a much smoother time than Mars going through Sagittarius. We can get a lot accomplished. We’ll be able to teach Mars some patience, which is a very good thing. Allow for a day or two on either side of the following aspects.
Tuesday, January 9:
Mars/Capricorn sextile Saturn/Pisces, 4°05’
Mars/Capricorn (4°12’) sesquisquare Uranus Rx/Taurus (19°12’)
We have a pretty good idea about where we want to go, but there are roadblocks which frustrate us. Sort of a “delayed opportunity.”
Friday, January 12 - Mars/Capricorn trine Jupiter/Taurus (5°50’). An early payoff? Even if you lose, you win. A time to take a calculated risk.
Sunday, January 14 - Mars/Capricorn (7°43’) semi-square Pallas Athene/Scorpio (22°43’). Some of our plans don’t work out. Shrug it off.
Thursday, January 25 - Mars/Capricorn square Chiron/Aries (15°51’). The stereotypical manifestation would be putting in long hours at the office, to the detriment of one’s partner. Try not to be so focused on your goal that you hurt others.
Saturday, January 27 - Mars/Capricorn conjunct Mercury/Capricorn (17°17’). This, believe it or not, is the 3rd of three conjunctions - the first was back on October 29, at 11°54’ Scorpio; and the second was on December 27, at 24°21’ Sagittarius. Some idea you had way back when (1) has gone through a few revisions and (2) is now finally ready to be acted upon.
Monday, January 29 - Mars/Capricorn trine Uranus/Taurus (19°05). Material (Earth) independence and self-reliance. The Moon is in Virgo earlier in the day, giving us an Earth grand trine to get things done.
Tuesday, January 30 - Mars/Capricorn square North Node/Aries and South Node/Libra (19°20’). Getting in our own way. We may be so caught up in our plotting that we ignore a simpler solution - or, we try to manipulate people and situations when they don’t suit us, instead of negotiating with them.
Wednesday, January 31 - Mars/Capricorn trine Juno Rx/Virgo (20°33’). Productive partnerships. Can also indicate a good time between the sheets; possible fertility.
Thursday, February 1 - Mars/Capricorn (21°35’) semi-square Saturn/Pisces (6°35’). Frustration leading to a “null” result. Our timing is off - Mars is the gas pedal and Saturn is the brakes. Take some deep breaths!
Friday, February 2 - Mars/Capricorn inconjunct Vesta Rx/Gemini (21°52). Distractions, inability to focus; sexuality issues where one partner is just not “in the mood.”
Monday, February 5 - Mars/Capricorn square Eris/Aries (24°12’). The most difficult aspect of the transit. It’s important to have a healthy outlet for anger and frustration. (Ms M always advises “clean the bathroom” when these happen.) Don’t let your anger spoil what you’re trying to do.
Wednesday, February 7 - Mars/Capricorn sextile Neptune/Pisces (25°58’). We started Mars/Capricorn with a sextile to Saturn, and we’re ending it with a sextile to Neptune. If we’ve tried to use the energy well, we have a vision of how our efforts will benefit us over the eons to come. The mists and fog clear for a bit.

TESTIMONIALS
"When she was flirting with a shapeshifter and he was saying they were too different to be together and said "Every 16 hours, I turn into a liquid," she just shrugged and said 'I can swim."
"She would do anything for her kids, including not divorce their dad even though she's in love with someone else. Scarily competent at her job, good at compartmentalizing her emotions in a sexy, capricornian way. All her sex scenes are insanely hot for a primetime cbs show, she has sexual tension with the majority of other characters, and she has an extremely rigid moral code that she breaks in really narratively significant ways. Also I love her."
