It’s my 6th birthday!!! #ItsMyDogDay It’s also coincidentally #TellAStoryDay. What better day to tell my #AdoptionStory! My name is Bandit, but that wasn’t always the case. I was born on April 27, 2015 in Belvedere, Tennessee. Sometime after my birth I was named Stevron (🥴 ikr weird). I was sent from the @franklincountyhumanesociety to the @cahslansing where I was neutered. After spending some time there, I was adopted by a @msu_football player and his girlfriend. They named me Noah. After being with them for a bit, they felt bad that they were too busy to spend enough time with me. They decided to rehome me to give me a chance at a more active life. My mom @desimslaughter had recently lost her dog in an accident and was having some serious #puppyblues. In the search for the next dog of her dreams, she came across my family at the time and heard about them wanting to find me another home. After she was sent the photos, she immediately reached out to set up a meeting. In August of 2015, they met in a local park in @downtownlansing, and I went home with my mom that day. I’ve been with her ever since! For my birthday, I got to go to @preusspets and get a treat for #TacoTuesday and a #BirthdayTreat! My mom also bought me some goodies like an @kongcompany chew toy, @nutrisourcepetfoods treats, and others. Being a rescue, I have a story that makes me a #fearfuldog. Although I’ve been in a happy and loving home since before I was a year old, i am constantly working at managing my fear. To also highlight #StressAwarenessMonth2021, my mom also got me some full spectrum hemp CBD calming treats from @treatibles to see how they help me cope with my stress levels. Maggie is a Mid-Michigan social and creative entrepreneur. She used her recent school break to create a 2018 Calendar. The profits from this project benefit the local humane society! With the assistance of her guinea pigs, and the piggies of a friend, Maggie carefully handcrafted seasonally appropriate, wearable accessories. Yes, the piggies are wearing hats! She, with the help of her brother, staged the photos with these piggy models. The piggies did agree to waive their model fees to further aid the humane society. Did I mention that she’s the future of creative and social entrepreneurship? Maggie will be at Absolute Gallery for the first Arts Night Out for 2018! She will have her calendars available for purchase. Each calendar retails for $20.00 each; $11.00 of each sale has been earmarked as a donation to the humane society, the remaining $9.00 reimburses Maggie for the production of the project. (Folks, she used her own money to produce this calendar!) The Capital Area Humane Society is a non-profit that is important to me....and Absolute Gallery.
