Caña
Es probablemente el aire más antiguo y auténtico de Tolima, relata el investigador Humberto Galindo que el maestro Cantalicio Rojas conoció este ritmo en los años veinte al presenciar las danzas de matachines e indios que salían en las fiestas del San Juan, y se acompañaban al son de carrasca y tambora.

Amigo Imaginario II
Oliver,
Creo que una parte de mi historia tiene que ver con las montañas. No te podría resumir la cantidad de significados reales que ellas tienen para mí, pero siempre he sentido una fuerte conexión con estos seres dormidos. Llegué en la panza de mi mamá cuando mi familia retornó a Mérida (Chile), nevaba y para entrar atravesaron un túnel muy largo y oscuro al sur de este país, un túnel por el que cae agua. Yo nunca lo he conocido.
Mi familia es viajera, hemos ido a Siquel (Argentina) muchísimas veces, casi siempre en vehículos que se quedaban en pana... Hay muchas historias sobre eso, y espero poder contártelas un día. Recuerdo algunas veces en las que de noche escuchábamos los cassettes de Donna Summer para que mi papá no se quedara dormido.
La cordillera de los andes es importante para mi familia históricamente porque mi mamá y el abuelo Cantalicio atravesaron a Siquel (Argentina) por primera vez en un tren por las montañas... Un tren que yo conocí en ruinas, lleno de historias fantasmas. Casi como parte de una reliquia familiar en el paisaje.
En parte, a veces siento que ese es mi verdadero hogar. Allí hemos existido como familia, esa ruta nos ha visto en los mejores y en los peores momentos. Ese territorio que está entre Viña del mar y San Pedro, provincia de Buenos Aires, es el mundo que siempre he conocido. Esa distancia y ese constante movimiento creo que han definido quién soy. El contraste de las culturas, la roca que se eleva para separar dos países que sí... Son muy diferentes. Pero de los cuáles yo soy parte.
Una vez mi mamá, mi hermana y yo, viajamos en un camión con un viejo amigo... Y comimos un asado en plena cordillera... Para mí una de las mejores aventuras de mi vida. De hecho, la vida de los camioneros fueron las primeras historias que escuché cuando pequeño, los accidentes, las marcas en las paredes de la ruta caracol donde los camioneros chocaban y por el esfuerzo de llegar a tiempo se quedaban dormidos y terminaban al fondo de las laderas. Historias, marcas en la rocas, el paisaje impresionante, son mi mayor fascinación.
Yo creo que las laderas siempre han sido mi hogar... por eso, a veces pienso que vivir en lo plano me resultaría difícil porque subir y bajar cerros es parte de mí, me hace feliz.
Mi mamá, por ejemplo, nos acostumbró a caminar, nos llevó a todas partes así y creo que por eso yo hago lo mismo. Encuentro satisfacción en subir cerros y cansarme. Me hace sentir libre, fuerte y como si fuera el dueño de mi propio destino. Cosa que por lo general olvido... me pierdo o me siento debilucho. Como débil de espíritu sabes?
Pero por eso creo que las montañas son mis maestras, me hablan, me acogen, me obligan a mirar al cielo y ver lo alto... Porque adoro cuando veo el cielo lleno de estrellas y me siento pequeño entre sus sombras monstruosas. Con el viento golpeándome o enfrentando una soledad reconfortante que me hace volver a mi centro.
Para mi las montañas hacen que todo cobre sentido, me ayudan a respirar de nuevo, a poner mis pies sobre la tierra. Algo que siempre estoy buscando, porque mi mente nunca se para y ya te has dado cuenta, es agotador.
Vuelvo a las montañas porque me hacen sentir en calma, me hacen sentir a salvo.
Y he estado pensando mucho en esto últimamente, porque creo que terminaré viviendo en ellas algún día... Quizás en muchos años, quizás muy pronto, no lo sé... Pero volveré a ellas. Porque siempre vuelvo al lugar en donde me siento seguro... Preguntándome por qué me tardé tanto.
Así que, espero algún día me acompañes Oliver, porque deseo compartir estos lugares contigo, deseo que los puedas observar y que estés a mi lado para maravillarte con ellos, absorbiendo lo absurdamente bella que es la naturaleza.
Deseo estar ahí ahora, contigo.

Reseña bibliografía de San Félix de Cantalicio, conmemorando un año más de su aniversario.
“Buen ánimo, hermano: los ojos en la tierra, el espíritu en el cielo y en la mano el santísimo rosario”, solía decir San Félix de Cantalicio, capuchino y místico
Nació en Italia por el 1515. Sus padres, campesinos y muy piadosos, lo educaron de tal forma que cuando sus amigos de juegos lo veían venir, decían: “¡Ahí viene San Félix!”
A los doce años se puso a trabajar en la casa de un rico propietario que lo puso de pastor y luego como cultivador. Poco a poco fue aprendiendo a meditar y a alcanzar un alto grado de contemplación.
"Todas las criaturas pueden llevarnos a Dios, con tal de que sepamos mirarlas con ojos sencillos”, dijo una vez el Santo a un religioso que le preguntó cómo hacía para vivir en presencia de Dios en medio del trabajo y otras distracciones.
Siempre andaba muy alegre y ante la injuria respondía diciendo: “voy a pedir a Dios que te haga un santo”. Cierto día que estaba arando, su jefe se acercó a él, los animales asustados derribaron a Félix y el arado le pasó por encima, pero el Santo se levantó ileso. Es así que se decidió y pidió ser admitido como hermano lego en el convento capuchino de Citta Ducale.
Siempre pedía que le redoblaran las penitencias, mortificaciones y que se le tratase con mayor severidad. Estaba persuadido que todos eran mejor que él, pero sus hermanos lo llamaban “el Santo”.
Hizo los votos solemnes hacia los treinta años. Cuatro años más tarde lo enviaron a Roma, donde por cuarenta años salió a pedir limosna todos los días para el sostenimiento de su comunidad. Asimismo, con permiso de sus superiores, ayudaba a los pobres, visitaba a los enfermos y consolaba a los moribundos.
Algunas veces San Félix, mientras ayudaba en Misa, quedaba en éxtasis a la vista de todos. Al final de su vida, el Cardenal protector de la orden aconsejó a los superiores que relevasen de su cargo a San Félix por su avanzada edad, pero el Santo les rogó que lo dejasen seguir pidiendo limosna diciendo que el alma se marchita cuando el cuerpo no trabaja.
Gozó de la estima de San Felipe Neri y San Carlos Borromeo. Partió a la Casa del Padre el 18 de mayo de 1587, después de haber tenido una visión de la Santísima Virgen que venía rodeada de ángeles.
Oración a San Félix de Cantalicio.
Oh Dulce Amor, Jesús, sobre todo amor,
escríbeme en el corazón cuánto me amaste.
Jesús, Tú me creaste para que yo te amase…
Jesús, Jesús, Jesús, toma mi corazón y no me lo devuelvas.
