Ghost AU

Kinda inspired by a series I watched years ago that I don't remember the name of.

Tim's always been able to see ghosts, however he knows that ignoring them is the safest option. Sometimes he can't stop himself from trying to help them move on though.

Then one day he sees him. Robin.

(He knows Robins civilian identity but it feels wrong to call him by a name he's not supposed to know.)

Jason introduces himself as Jason, and Tim's like ah. that makes sense. They strike a deal. Tim is worried about batman. Jason wants to keep helping. Together they make a team where Tim will be trained by Jay, who will also serve as extra eyes and ears, and they're gonna make Tim and Jay the ultimate Robin duo.

(it helps that he already knows their identities).

Tim and Jason grows close, they're best friends, brothers..Sometimes it feels like they're more. Tim's never had connections like this before, and Jason is feeling seen and respected in ways he didn't know were possible.

(Tim made him a grave, dedicated to Jason Todd. Not to the deadname on the headstone in the cemetary. Not one dedicated to the dead wayne daughter who never existed. Jason didn't know ghosts could cry until that happened).

And then years later.. Jason vanishes. Tim’s heartbroken, confused and almost tearing the city apart looking for him.

Meanwhile, Jason wakes up in a sea of green.

He becomes Damian's bodyguard but calls himself the ghost, he's not the red hooded ninja.

damian becomes jasons. and they leave together to 'train' damian under careful watch by teachers but jason meanwhile not only protects damian but he makes preparations to return to gotham and carve his mark.

he doesnt care about the whole robin thing since he was the one who made tim robin, but he doesnt go out of his way to interact with the bats.

(which, hurts. he wants so so bad to go back to tim. he wants to show him how much he's done. who he's become. that he got to grow *up* it hurts that he wont be welcomed bcs the only one who knows jasons trans, and thus his actual name, is tim - tim is the only one who would be able to recognise him; he looks so different compared to his robin days that there's no way any of the bats, sans tim and maybe alfred, would realise and that hurts him on a deep level, but at the same time he thinks it doesnt matter because they wouldnt want to welcome him, anyway; the girl they loved died.

But eventually he returns to gotham, not as 'The red hood' - but as Revenant.

( damian does not hide his disgust when he sees the memorial in the cave. he may not realise that jasons the second robin, maybe jay told him, but to damian it feels like an insult. it is certainly not a memorial made with jason's memory in mind, it is naught but a punishment for the beholder. tims like ok we can keep you i like you.

and then damian comments about tim fighting like his brother and showing 'crime alley' moves jason taught him during the league and tim feels like the floor disappeared from under him cause wait a damn second. then he starts to observe damian more, and it's in the small ways that damian looks and reminds him of jason, the small movements and tims like.

this cannot be a coincidence. hes like tell me about your brother. please. is he happy? is he safe? and damian tells him but not like by name but then tim starts crying and damians like ???!??? alarmed and awkward cus he doesnt.. know why he's crying. tim doesnt explain himself, either. tim decides to seek out revenant and, in true tim fashion inspired by steph, chugs an ouija board at the guy when he finds him in crime alley.

hes like "what the fu-" but then freezes when he sees tim and thats all the confimation tim needs.

next thing he knows tim all but jumps at him and climbs him like a toddler climbs ikea furniture.

and jason just stands there until his arms slowly come up and he hugs tim back.)

✧Dazai, despite being termed as one of the most laziest people by most people, he would buy you a cup of coffee/tea every time you enter your office. You would reach your worktable and see a cup of coffee/tea, just for you by yours truly Dazai. Despite his disappearance, his gestures warm your heart.

✧Ranpo, willingly saves a packet of gummy bears for you, knowing how you love them and the smile you give when you get the packet makes him happy, the site of seeing you smile always warms his heart and he makes sure he is there for you to never let the smile of yours down.

✧Atsushi would be a kind of a person, who would make sure you never loss your things. He would fold your thrown clothes at the corner, knowing how tired you must have been after the mission and as your lover he made sure you deserved the rest you wait for all day long. He doesnt mind washing dishes or cleaning the apartment, as long as you are healthy and happy.

✧Chuuya would insist to make you both lunch when you both are alone back at your apartment. He also willingly helps you clean up the high up areas in your apartment (his ability helps a lot). Of course, that always ends up with you both cuddling and sleeping on the couch.

✧Akutagawa is a person of action, as his normal service would be making sure all your injuries are healed. He doesnt mind doing the grocery shopping for your apartment, seeing how tired you are. He cant cook, he cant clean but he can make sure the stocks are up at the house.

✧Dazai loves to buy you flowers. He says they remind him of you, how those flowers get reborn into a better version of themselves, every time someone takes them down only to get them become the best. You often laugh at his explanation, but its heart warming.

✧Ranpo loves to buy you food, despite his carving for snacks, if your eyes lay on anything he is willing to buy it for you. He likes to buy you ice-cream every time you both go on walks outside.

✧Atsushi likes to write letters to you, maybe even small notes here and there, telling you how much you mean.

✧Chuuya like ranpo, would buy anything your eyes lay upon. He personally likes to gift you bracelets, or any of the jewellery he thinks suite you. He would be the person who buys you perfumes too.

✧Akutagawa unlike others, don't try to gift you anything. But in rare or special occasions he once in while would buy you a cup or coffee or tickets to show you wanted to see but neither of you had time too. (he makes time for you)

quality time

✧Dazai spends his quality time with you usually on you bed as you both snuggle close to each other, stealing kisses and sleeping.

✧Ranpo spends his quality time almost everywhere. He is like a lost puppy, who always follows you behind. But his all time favourite is when both of you walk hand in hand towards your apartment.

✧Atsushi and you spend your time taking scrolls in park, holding hands and laughing on smallest topics you both can think. He loves talking to you and listening to your voice.

✧Chuuya often would take you out on frequent dates, from fancy dinning restaurants to grass fields stargazing at night.

✧Akutagawa and you spend your time together in silence, just your presence enough for him to feel safe. Maybe both of you go grocery shopping together, debating if 2+1 was a necessary offer to take. Who says quality time is just dating them?

✧Dazai loves the way you both have physically long time hugs, the perfect fit to a puzzle. He loves to give you forehead kisses and would give you side hugs whenever he passes by you, saying how grateful he was to be blessed by your presence.

✧Ranpo would be spooning you round, his arms wrapped around you as you both would sit on your bed as you would give him nose kisses only for him to kiss your lips and comment how it tasted like strawberries.

✧Atsushi would blush if you ever kiss him, but he gets brave and once in a while give small kisses on checks, while you hold hands walking in public.

✧Chuuya would be the one, giving you full kisses on lips whenever he sees you. Both of you love it when you both are in physical contact, your hand on his, skin on skin and nothing could come between your worlds. Hug, kiss, sleep you name it, we all it all from this man,

✧Akutagawa would make sure you are always close to him, as you both would stand whereever the situation is. He would pull the sleeves of your dress indicating for you to stand a little closer to him to which you would smile at yourself and hold his hands.

i have a worldbuilding question!! in the foa/botl world souls dont stay in the underworld forever, they're eventually returned to the mortal world to live new lives. but what about gods? is it possible for a mortal soul to be reborn into an immortal god?

also im loving the demo so far and cant wait to see where all these new story threads lead!!

Certain forms of intervention make something like this sort of possible, but it never quite ends up exactly the same as an entity that was born a god. Examples of the 'sort of' variety are Pyri and Makaria, and to some extent demigods, who can be immortal, but are not quite the same type of being as a god.

Okay, okay, okay, now that I had time to properly digest everything from part 44. I can finally give out some real thoughts on it. Real and disjointed thoughts but thoughts anyway.

Part 44 spoilers

First of all, i am still just so giddy about John being referred to as John in the description now and not as "The Entity". This is, SO MUCH to me.

The title, the fucking title. The Deliverance being a "rebirth" not of just John finally understanding who he is and wants to be, but for both Arthur and John's relationship going forward (hopefully continuing to communicate better with one another at least until Kayne decides to file out divorce papers again), and of course Arthur coming back from the dead "being reborn again." Can I call it that? Plus they did come out of the "hags womb" (over explaining here but fuck it we ball.)

The Waylay is limbo? Right? Or Arthur's personal limbo? Seems like limbo for everyone due to the blood and sand already waiting for him there ("alive" Parker reveal, maybe? Lets go?) I got so many questions about the Waylay. Also if John and Arthur both die and get separated, I will cry for at least a week. They deserve to be happy together bro I cant. 😭

John being a lot more caring now bruvs, its jover. Its so fucking jover for me. Also, John being a lot more active with using his hand now right? Right???

As much as I absolutely adore Yorik, I feel like he will turn heel once Kayne appears again. He stated himself that he does whatever benefits him the most and with Kayne being as powerful as he is, it shouldn't be a question. But if he does choose to stay with Jarthur I will be surprised. (I will still love Yorik no matter what, he just a little silly guy.) I hope he goes around and kills people hitman style with that hand.

Question 2:

Most combos of the monkeys sparring have the potiential for great collateral damage (except any with Meihouwang, they let him win); but I feel the ones most likely to loose control and have it stop being a "friendly spar" are Reborn and Netflix. Reborn has established anger issues, and Netflix is big on taunting his opponents and has canonically lost control over his more powered-up form.

MK runs out in between the two SWKs to stop the fighting. LMK!Macaque either does some amazing shadow portal-ing to get his boy out of there or...

Lets just say Reborn and Netflix are in BIG trouble until MK figures out how to un-stone himself.

20. Have you noticed any patterns in your fics? Words/expressions that appear a lot, themes, common settings, etc?

I gotta brainstorm this

I used to use the word ‘jarring’ all the time because I say that in real life LOL

I think when it comes to writing and more dynamic themes, i think the main thing i try to emulate in my writing is that you know whats going on in the scene. I want to make sure that the reader knows the layout and how every person is interacting with each other. I try and go back over my writing over and over again to make sure it is understandable

I think a newer theme is emotions ? i focused so much on physical descriptions in my older works that it wasn’t,,,, fun? To read my stuff. So with my newer works i tried to experiment with more complex emotions, especially the physical repercussions of the emotions lol

SmutWithPlot on FF.net is an author who’s style inspires me SO MUCH. Their description style and flow is something I aspire to have. tension is so good….. (they’re also on ao3)

I’ve said this before but @eilwen is SUCH an incredible writer. No Reason is a fic that I cry whenever i see that its been updated. Their style is so poetic and detailed and i lovelovelove the story and world building its so incredible.

Kuwakun or @tomboyyyaoi here on tumblr has the most beautiful like,,, poetic style of writing… i want to try my hand at poetry style writing one of these days. I have such a literal and straightforward writing style that i would need to practice if I wanted to write the beautiful imagery that they have in their works…. (I sincerely believe they are one of the only people that really understand trimax vashmeryl)

58. What part of the writing process do you enjoy the most? (Brainstorming, outlining, writing, editing, etc)

Hmmmm

I think outlining and editing are tied in my mind. I LOVE creating the story, and that happens when i outline. I see it all in my mind and can normally get it down on the page okay, but the story really comes to life when i outline, and then it is reborn when i edit lol

I love going back over my work and editing. It helps me realize what isn’t flowing well, what words were strange to use, what sentences just make absolutely no sense because my brain was moving so fast that i forgot half of the words lol. But I love editing in general…. Its so fun.

66. How do you deal with writing pressure (ie. pressure to update, negative comments, deadlines, etc.)?

So far i haven’t faced a lot, which has been nice. I think what helps is that I do this because I like to. I love sharing it with people and knowing that others really enjoy the story,,, but its really a selfish act LOL 

If i get negative comments,,, those fly over my head. The positive ones far outweigh the negative ones (although, i havent gotten any ! which is so nice lolol)

Updating and deadlines,,,, i set those myself ? so like,,, if they need to be moved or adjusted i can just do that

And you can too ! please work at your own pace. Don’t feel burdened by those who read or consume your creations, I am certain most if not all are patient and willing to wait however long it takes for you to feel like its good enough to share

73. What do you think makes your writing stand out from other works?

Hmmmmmm im gonna be a brat about this and say I write stuff that flows well. Funfact about lace, this is because I have written so many history papers, and those need to flow well in order to make sense. I go back over my works countless times to make sure everything is coming across well and that the audience knows whats going on. Is it perfect? No. I went back and reread chapter 1 of in the meadow recently and immediately wanted to start fixing lolol (i might do that 👀)

I would say it helps that I know grammar lolol,,,, i try to not put dialogue for different people in the same paragraph or do run on sentences,,, but I am certainly guilty of using the same adjectives over and over or putting too many commas in one sentence lol 

75. What scene in in the meadow took the longest to write? What was difficult about it?

Okay,,, there have been a few parts where i had to pause and take a moment before i actually got my thoughts down

The first was the fight between Milly and Knives about Wolfwood. I had planned that scene so early on,,, but I … i couldn’t figure out each character’s motivation for SO LONG. it took me forever to find why Milly would even put up with him when he was the one to kill WW but also Milly wouldn’t hold a grudge like that and yakjdlkfjsdlj it took so long and i went over it a billion times to fix it and change it ugh

Another one that was sillier was in the latest chapter (28) I was having the hardest time planning out the silly conversation with the sisters. It literally made me stop writing for like a week T-T I couldn’t figure out how to make the conversation flow or how to make Vash seem like a sleaze while not a huge sleaze or for the ladies to tease Meryl UGH

I still don’t think its good but it was the best i could get it

I also avoided writing the final chapter for a minute cuz i didn’t want it to be over,,, then i wrote the whole thing in one day lol (squid knows lol)

woke up from long rest. senna still cant contact her god. wheatley is asking zen where organics go when they die wtf. he guesses it depends on ones faith. for example organics that worshipped robotgod now live in his domain and some of them are even robots now! most are in the giant tube. teya is horrified lol. wheatley asks teya what will happen to her lol. zen says he knows? the souls that dont believe just get reincarnated. wheatley wants to meet teya again lol. zen comments teya wont be herself anymore but shuts up lol.

wheatley asks senna and she says bad people go to bad places but good people can just kinda choose where to go. wheatley wants to meet her again and she gives him a fond sad smile. SP rolls over to teya and sits on her foot. wheatley wants to ask parsley lol. SP rolls into parsleys tent and scares the shit outta him. he rolls out, knocks, then goes back in. 'parsley, fetch!' 'SP you have to wait for a response!' 'i heard you?' 'you have to wait for an ok!' SP rolls out and keeps knocking on the tent. parsley sighs and lets him in.

"Parsley, die?" he blinks and says no. SP rolls out to wheatley and says "Parsley no die." wheatley doesnt think fairies are immortal. time to question him lol. Parsley shrugs and thinks he gets reborn he has no idea. wheatley just wants everyone to get reincarnated. senna says teya is a good person and can get reincarnated if she wants. parsley feeds rouge weird morning. teya wandered off lol.

android asks what he expects and wheatley shrugs. death is unavoidable for us wheatley hates that lol. senna says death is natural and its important what we do while were alive. wheatley says its still too short. she places her hands on his shoulders and says she wasted enough of her life, now she lives each day to its fullest. no regrets doing that. wobbly eye texture. hes scared. she says she can see him as much as he wants. now he looks conflicted.

"But thats what memories are for." wheatley looks more conflicted. his memories are unreliable. senna says he still has the feelings. memories are feelings. its complicated. he says she could go with them? 'what?' become a robot senna join my metal band. senna sighs sadly and pats wheatley. "Your god would not want my prayers. And converting just for immortality seems extremely selfish. I know my path and my end. I am not afraid of where i go. Do not mourn for me,please. Simply remember what path i chose for myself." he nods sadly and goes to do repairs on SP to avoid us lol.

senna messages teya to let her know what and goes to play solo shogi. parsley is awkwardly taking down his tent lol. now hes talking to rouge and trying to make her turn into a bracelet. SP rolls over to senna and the two of them stack the pieces aww. wheatley is trying hard to preserve and backup these memories. wheatley is sitting with zen quietly. zen pats him. teya messages parsley she wants to talk. hes being dense on purpose lol.

teya sighs and goes to find him. she comes to camp and grabs parsley xD parsley yells at wheatley to help but he stays still. android smirks and waves bye. parsley starts hitting teya in the arm. wheatley asks senna to show him shogi. parsley escaped lol and flies out of reach. parsleys axe of warning starts going off! prepare for trouble!

we hear a high pitched cry and a giant hawk goes toward parsley! he dodges! wheatley shoots it and it flies off lol. parsley flips it off. he lands and dusts himself off. teya grabs him again lol. he escaped! zen asks what teya wants with parsley. parsley says its not important and we should just leave but teya is like no dumbass. wheatley begins working on his human form i suppose?

wheatley called parsley a dick then says you are what you eat. SP rolls over to parsley and asks if he eats dick. senna cant breathe shes laughing too hard. parsley is also dying lol. wheatley has to collect SP lol. teya tried to grab parsley again. once more he escapes. wheatley grabs parsleys wrist. just let teya do what she wants right now lol. parsley wants to drop it. wheatley says nah. teya doesnt wanna force this but its important cause she cares. parsley just wants to forget this. teya sighs and apologizes to parsley about something. parsley is like this is too personal and agrees to walk off with teya lol.

teya apolgizes for hurting parsley. hes so awkward hes not looking at her lol. meanwhile wheatley plays shogi against android. senna watches. wheatley is getting his ass beat. SP rolls over, puts down a piece, beats android in 1 move, and leaves. parsley kicks the ground and sighs. he doesnt want an apology hes fine hes totally lying lol. shes sorry cause she threw something personal back in his face. he scoffs and says he said that as a warning and is glad she took it to heart. now their arguing cause hes being a bitch lol. teya says hes important to her and that shuts him up. how was he supposed to know that, by observing dumbass.

teya calls him a dense asshole. hes so confused wtf. bonds are a foreign concept to him i guess lol. he just throws his hands up lol. teya grumbles and shoves the journel at parsley and stomps off. parsley is celebrating something now? oh no. now he cant bring it up lol.

meanwhile android is beating wheatley very much at shogi lol. teya makes it back to camp. senna comments teya is a bit red. teya says parsley is clueless lol. senna walks over and gives her a 4-leaf clover she found. wheatley asks and teya says she had to apologize and stuff. android says she doesnt think before acting. SP rolls into the woods to find parsley. he sits on his foot lol. he fetched parsley xD

when they get back SP yells he fetched parsley xD wheatley says senna wont help him cheat at shogi xD parsley offers to eat the pieces and senna says their rocks dont do that. hes eaten rocks before what. android says he hopes parsley knocks out his teeth. parsley says he will shoot his teeth like bullets. wheatley is freaking out lol. parsley is just laughing. androids gonna fucking hit him. wheatley tries to stop android and trips. senna notices and moves between both android and parsley 'ok thats enough.' time to finish packing up. wheatley gives SP his own sending stone lol.

parsley shoves the book back at teya and walked away lol. their good apparently lol. teya passes the journal to wheatley lol. android peeks over to read it lol. teya is pissed at him now. she says him reading it means he gives a shit lol. android says he wants to read something humerous. teya literally stands between android and the book xD wheatley keeps making noises and stuff so now android is more interested but no effort lol. wheatley says we should mind connect again sometime :P wheatley started reading some of it outloud and senna covered her ears. he tells teya to stop being reckless.

teya implies if she cant keep us safe shes better off dead so uh thats fucked. senna removes her hands and asks what happaned. wheatley goes to zen and says what teya said. senna stomps over and hoists teya in the air and says she is blessed to have gotten a second shot and isnt allowed to just throw it away recklessly. senna tells teya to drop the book they gotta look for more concerning info lol. teya lets wheatley takes the book. senna carries her away lol. the guys are now face deep in the book sksksk.

teya summons her familiar nova! kitty! wheatley taps the last paraghraph and shows parsley. parsley buffers cause raises of hands for people caring about him lol. senna finally puts teya down sadge. wheatley grabs zens hand and goes toward teya but she hidden steps aww. parsley uses fairy fire to find teya lol. teya sighs and goes into the network with wheatley. congrats teya feel the love. and wheatley feels all of teyas anxiety lol. soulmates but wheatley has no soul lol. sharing the loneliness.

teya fucking tries digging in wheatleys memories to see what happaned after the portal. wheatley panics, teya wtf. zen puts a stop to it immediately, dont do that wtf. unconnected. very disappointed in her right now. senna asks wtf did she do. wheatley interrupts zen saying he wasnt trying to let his fear of being abandoned show. stay out of there teya like wtf. your sleeping on the couch. wheatley tries telling us not to be mad at teya. parsley is staring at the ground. he tries to shake it off. he cant lie so hes just saying silent lol. he finally says hes fine but takes damage and flinches lol.

senna calls him out on lying lol. he says no-maybe stop looking at me xD senna sighs and turns to teya and says she showed an extreme lack of respect for wheatley. wheatley just wants them to stop fighting. teya says she was just worried cause he was hiding his fear. he says he didnt want to make her feel bad. she tries to be an open book. senna, with near disgust, just walks away. SP follows sadly trundling along.

His body covered in red beautiful roses, his face dawn and dazzled with thorn vines that were black as night, and his body stained with red. He couldn’t see, but he could hear. And he huffed, as he walked to the woman body, pulling a knife he had thrown and stabbed the woman profusely until the woman wails were gone. He dragged himself up, as he unlocked the car doors. As Ralpheus leaped to the boys arm. Sobbing as he cried, “Ryder! Oh my sevens!!! Are you alright?! Here let me-“ Ryder gently pulled the boy hand away from his face. “Your mother…. She knew nothing is best for you…. Only for herself.” He said. “Don’t worry, it’s time to take you home.” Hw said, stubbornly keeping his wounds after all, he fell from a tower, and survived with a stab wound to the stomach. He’s too stubborn to leave Ralpheus alone. He be damned if such a cruel monster hold him hostage.

He died a hero…. But reborn as a guardian.

I saw the Asim (possibly Draconia) and Mei ask, and as someone who is mayhaps possibly a lil mentally ill about the game as I have read most of the manga, watched almost all of the chronicles videos, and am up to date on the main story along with having all of Mei's battlesuits minus lightning Empress I feel like I can say YES YES YES (which I must say is pretty tame compared to other I get shocked at the fandom sometimes wow)

It fits more with Asim because the status of the Asim family and the Raiden family are similar, big corporations with lots of influence.

Though I don't necessarily know what would be the catalyst for the change in Asim as for Mei, that change was Kiana, looking for her and trying to save her, which leads to her joining World Serpent after they give her a solution for saving her and then she's sent to the Elysian Realm where most of her development takes place

Mei was originally an heiress who was beloved by her classmates until her father was charged with fraud, he ran away to avoid being arrested and left Mei behind. Everyone turned against her, she learned that they only liked her because of her family and the business she would've inherited and become closed off; hearing a voice beckoning her to get revenge on everyone who wronged her, she agrees with the voice it revealed itself as the Herrscher core of Thunder, she then becomes the Herrscher of Thunder causing an outbreak that destroyed the city and killed most of their classmates. Wrecked with guilt realizing what she had done, she attempts to kill herself but is stopped by Kiana Kaslana, a transfer student. They escape with another girl they meet named Bronya or try to as they were found by a Valkyrie sent to investigate the outbreak named Himeko Murata who takes them to the granddaughter and principal of a Valkyrie training school, Theresa Apocolypse, who enrolls them in said school, called St. Freya High School and that's basically where the game starts.

Over the story, even after this, she goes from a warm and kind girl that is kind of naive and hopeful to a more mature, colder, yet still a kind girl whose more grounded and isn't as hopeful and can move on from past grievances and make up with those she once fought with as she can look at situations with more of a logical and grown standpoint instead of the emotional and immature one she used previously.
