some of my rook thoughts!! (spoilers for lucanis' questline)

this wont make sense to anyone that cant see inside my brain like an xray machine but i have to waffle my thoughts out somewhere. Sorren romances Lucanis but i really really cannot see them lasting long term. Sorren enjoys travelling yes, but he is nobility of a Fereldan Teyrnir family, he can't very well just run away to Antiva to live with a crow, and nor would he want to. He loves Ferelden. He spends the majority of Veilguard wishing he could go home. He misses his family and the Fereldan wardens.

But i cannot see Lucanis coming with him to Ferelden either. For one, there's the First Talon business. I'm sure eventually he could find someway to sidestep out of it;;; maybe plan some kind of coup with Viago. He doesn't want to be first talon. But he loves Antiva, especially Treviso. That's his home, and i can't see him leaving it either. In a joking sense i'd say he couldn't cope with ferelden because of the lack of good coffee and spices but on a more serious note, Ferelden is so different to Antiva, i don't think he could learn to live with it. Zevran did because he had nothing left for him back in Antiva, but Lucanis has a lot more to leave behind.

I think they might, when they realise this, try and break up amiably, as much as two people brought together by a trauma like Lucanis' situation could, but with Spite in the picture, i can't picture that ending okay for anyone. He'd either lash out at Sorren for leaving them (leaving him), or lash out at Lucanis for ruining it. Or both. I really can't picture that ending any way but bad. worse for Lucanis - Sorren has so many people waiting for him at home, but I think Lucanis' future is honestly lonely in this worldstate. which is really sad and i might have to try and create another de riva for him to fumble over because he's a good lad and he deserves some happiness, but i think even if he could find someone afterwards and be happy, i don't think spite would. I think spite would forever be stuck with Sorren.
