You knew you were working too hard and barely having time for Henry when he was just back from shooting his new movie and about to take off for another season of The Witcher, but you couldn’t help it.

This would be one of the biggest book launch events your publishing company would do and you needed to be on top of everything, which meant late hours at the office, making sure that everything was perfect for next week.

“Hey boss,” your assistant peeked her head inside your office making you look up from the documents you were browsing. “Car’s waiting downstairs.”

“What car?” you frowned. “I didn’t…” you looked down at your phone and there was a reminder of a meeting with the new author you just closed a deal. “Shit!”

You didn’t remember agreeing to this but then again, you didn’t remember what you had for breakfast this morning. Wait... Did you have breakfast? No time to wonder now as you rushed to get up and shrug on your coat.

“Thanks, Daliah,” you said picking up your purse and pocketing your phone. “Remind me to give you a raise.”

“It’s already in your planner.” She winked at you as you stepped into the elevator and as the doors slid closed, you watched her typing a message, probably letting the driver know you were in the way.

The black sedan was waiting for you outside, not your usual town car but you didn’t have time to wonder. Just got on the backseat, calling a quick greeting to the driver as you texted the caterer the last minute adjustments required for menu.

You were so absorbed in these tasks that you didn’t even noticed where you were going until you looked out of the window and realized you on your way out of the city.

“Excuse me? I think you’re going the wrong way…” you called out, finally paying attention to the driver and that profile was unmistakable. “Henry?”

“Hey, love,” he glanced at you through the review-mirror. “Don’t worry, I know exactly where I’m going.”

“Hen, this isn’t funny, I have a meeting…”

“With me,” he answered, flashing that all fangs smirk. “As matter of fact, Daliah made sure to clear your schedule for the entire weekend. You should really give her a raise.”

If you weren’t so worried about the event, you would agree. Instead you were just annoyed that Henry had convinced your assistant to con you into going out of town with him when you definitely didn’t have the time. You left your laptop back in your office and only had your phone and tablet with you, but neither wouldn’t last the night.

“Now, you can work for the next 45 minutes until we get to the hotel, but after that I’m taking your phone and tablet away and you won’t get them back until Sunday,” Henry informed you, attention shifting back to the road and you sighed, knowing it was pointless to argue.

So you did what you could in the timeframe he offered you but as soon as he parked the car, Henry snatched both devices from your hands, giving you a warning look that told you to behave before he stepped out and circled the car to open the door for you.

“Bear, do you have any idea how much I…” your words were cut out as Henry kissed you with fervor as soon as you were out of the car, making your thoughts scatter and the protest to die on your tongue.

He was holding you with a hand on the small of your back, bending down to reach you, almost blanketing with his sheer size and that never failed to send shivers down your spine. It wasn’t just that Henry was tall. It was the broad shoulders and the solid frame; the wall of muscles that made you feel so safe and incredibly aroused over the fact that if Henry so wished, he could make you do anything he wanted, pin you down and carry you around, manhandle you and pretty much claim you and there was absolutely nothing you could do to stop him.

Just that kiss, all full of meaning, his tongue pushing past the seam of your lips, his large palm holding you in place as he devoured your mouth, his stubble leaving red rashes on your chin. Your small hands clinging helpless at the front of his shirt, because your knees wobbled at the intensity of his kiss showed you had no way out. You were his for the next two days to do whatever Henry pleased and there was no point in argue. Not that you wanted it anyway.

When he finally released you, you gasped desperately for breath at the same time you tried to chase his lips, not even close to satiated from his touch and passion but Henry’s hand moved to your nape, holding you still as he smirked at you.

“That’s better.” he pressed a sweet kiss on your forehead before meeting your gaze. “Now, panties.” For a second, you just gaped at his outstretched hand. “You’re not gonna need them for the rest of the weekend.”

“Hen, you’re not…” your trailed off as he arched his eyebrow at you. He meant it. Every word.

With your cheeks heating up, you reached beneath your pencil skirt and shoved your panties down until they fell to your feet. Henry grinned wickedly as you picked them up and put them on his hand. Only then he stepped away from you, letting you move aside so he could close the car door with one hand while he pocketed your panties with the other.

You were acutely aware of the feel of the wool of your skirt against your naked ass as Henry guided you to the elevator, his hand once again on your back, his thumb sneaking beneath the waistband and caressing the bare skin just above your ass as you two watched the numbers rise.

“You know I could finger you right now and no one would be the wiser,” he said, giving you another one of those wicked smirks.

“But you’re not going to…” you protested, swallowing the lump of embarrassment in your throat as you glanced at the camera in the corner. “Bear…”

The words died on your throat as he slipped his hand under the hem of your skirt, massaging your cheeks, his lips softly grazing your cheek in a loving, very chaste kiss, his body shielding your lower half from view as the elevator doors slid open and another man stepped inside, giving you both a short nod before turning his back on you.

“You’re mine and I do whatever I want with you,” Henry whispered, nipping your ear. “Now, keep quiet, dear,” he said, his fingers finally finding your slit and pushing inside.

THOUGHTS ABT TODAYS EP!

(i typed out a whole post and it didn’t even send so now i have to make this new one lol)

CON:

i didn’t like how underwhelming the connecting scene was. yknow... the scenes at the beginning of Episode 1 where the girls were freaking out about amaya and the runway show?

i’ve been torn between “we hyped ourselves up too much” and “mga hyped up the drama too much” because let’s be real, anytime they post(ed) about a new arc in the series, they were always like “Ugh the Drama!😱🌈” but it was literally just them cheering or talking to someone new. like i guess in the real world that would be eventful, and i know this is a kids series, but i worry that i (myself) got too excited and set my expectations too high

like i am well aware that this is a kids show. there’s no doubt about it. and of course it may not be that deep because it is a kid show. but i can name like... many other kid shows that actually have deep plots and even dark scenes/dark undertones. take literally any other show. carmen sandiego, my little pony, monster high, ever after high, jurassic world camp cretaceous, she ra, etc. these shows are for literal children yet if you have seen them, you’ll know what i mean. i’m not saying every show has to be super eventful, and it is nice to have a cutesy show like rainbow high where the characters basically just vibe. but if they were to hype it up that much, i think there should’ve been more.

PROS

i absolutely ADORED the characters in this episode and i definitely prefer it over last episode. i figured i would anyway. last episode definitely seemed like the fuel for the following two episodes, so i’m not surprised and it definitely makes sense.

it was so nice to see the other characters and get speaking lines from each. river, stella, karma, krystal. it was very nice! river has basically played support for amaya these past couple of episodes, which is kinda stinky since it would be cool to see his development (more info on that in a later post) but i’m just glad he’s being good to amaya lol. ofc i prefer sunraine, skymaya, or literally any other amaya ship lol, but it’s nice to know she has a positive healthy relationship at the moment!

KIAS APPEARANCE! finally best girl is here! i like how the scene was subtle yet very in your face. obviously she dominated the screen for a second there but the “cameo” moment was much like stella’s first cameo moment. i cant wait to see her again! i was beginning to think she’d come in season two, but i hope maybe we can see her at least one more time before season one ends??? i kind of doubt it but there is always hope!

jade and amaya’s bond is so cute. definite growth (although i would’ve preferred the drama to last longer. it definitely had the room to lol) and i’m so editing them soon

the fact jade quoted bella in order to calm everyone down. ugh. total girlfriends. she totally misses bella and they had such a beautiful bond UGH PLS BELLA COME BACK!

sunny being the one to bring everyone down from the chaos going on yes ma’am. still would’ve preferred she had an episode dedicated to her, but i guess at least she’s been a support character in many of the episodes

evermore review and ranking:

overall, i found this album to have more skippable songs than folklore and the middle of my ranking definitely feels like the middle whereas in my folklore ranking, #14 was still a fav. folklore was a true anomaly where i was just adding the whole album to my playlist. evermore really feels like folklore’s little sister getting the hand-me-downs, who just doesnt know who she is or what shes doing with her life, what is the theme exactly.

tis the damn season. i fell in love in the first five seconds. i love the moody mature guitar strums and drum beats amping up the entire song. the story of coming back to an old love in your hometown reminds me of the show ‘the normal people’. im a real sucker for sagas, timeless loves that pull you in time and time again, familiar feelings that just feel right because you experienced them at such a young age. this song gets me.

long story short. this is such a banger r u joking. i feel every single one of my blood cells pumping as soon as this song starts. i even love the post-chorus, a great break from the chorus and the verses. i could post the whole song as my favorite lines.

ivy. hard not to compare this to illicit affairs, but this is like an upbeat version. if i didnt even pay attention to the lyrics, i would think this is so fun and catchy, it sounds good. there is no anger, there is a joy. and i just like it.

Oh, goddamn My pain fits in the palm of your freezing hand Taking mine, but it's been promised to another Oh, I can't Stop you putting roots in my dreamland My house of stone, your ivy grows And now I'm covered in you So yeah, it's a fire It's a goddamn blaze in the dark And you started it

willow. im really glad this was the leading single because this is a beautiful stringy piece with a great melody. when i was reading the lyrics before listening to the song, it sounded extremely cheesy with “thats my man”, “i come back stronger than a 90s trend”, but in the song, i love it. theres a lot of heart and oompf to this.

And if it was an open-shut case I never would've known from that look on your face Lost in your current like a priceless wine

coney island. i wonder why she picked coney island, a very summery location with the bright lines and merry go, when the whole album is supposed to be a winterscape. i barely understand what this song is about but i enjoy the sounds.

evermore. i love when justin vernon starts singing with that beautiful falsetto “cant not think of all the cost and the things that will be lost”.

Or the violence of the dog days I'm on waves, out being tossed

champagne problems. before i get into this, i like this song, im impressed with the bridge and the chorus, i enjoy the story. just a small thing: title phrase. i just dont vibe with it, the rest of the lyrics couldve been more connected with champagne, i dont believe champagne to be any alcoholic’s choice of drink. and one more nitpick, who likes that random piano mash at the end, anyone?

tolerate it - this is a good mellow song, i can relate to the deep sadness of feeling ignored, every thing you do is just dropped. i feel this could grow on me, especially because at the end we really get that jolt of energy, i can leave, i can do it.

I wait by the door like I'm just a kid Use my best colors for your portrait

gold rush. this song is a little too sweet for me, specifically “i dont need a gold rush gold rush”. its just an upbeat and repetitive pop song. i also find this specific high school energy of really wanting someone but also despising their appeal to just not relate to the headspace im currently in.

no body no crime. whoooa that blast of country. it kind of feels weird in this album. i think the chorus is incredibly boring, “i think he did it but i just cant prove it” over and over.

closure. i cant get over the constant banging of industrial pots and pans throughout this whole song lol. i really went back and forth between do i like this, no i hate it, ok i could get used to it, no no it doesnt fit with the lyrics and how shes singing. i also dont care for “yes i got your letter, yes im doing better”.

we have a large pile of songs at the bottom, they all mush together in a sad corner. these could maybe grow on me but i also would be fine never listening to them again. with folklore’s sad songs, like epiphany or my tears ricochet, there was still something that appealed to me. most of these, there just isnt anything.

happiness - similar to tolerate it, i think the lyrics carry and convey a specific feeling very well, i have definitely felt this way, but i dont feel like the instrumentals match her emotional singing. i think she really carries this song and the instruments just let me down.

No one teaches you what to do When a good man hurts you And you know you hurt him too

marjorie - i feel like a song about her grandmother could have been so great instead we get “what died didnt stay dead” over and over and a bridge that is mostly about herself. “shouldve kept every grocery store receipt cause every scrap of you would be taken from me” is the worst of the lines, thats what you want to keep? grocery receipts? the song should be about her grandmother leaving all her “backlogged dreams” to her, and im not getting much of that.

cowboy like me - takes one... to... know... one...... this song does not embody the type of cowboy shes talking about, perhaps a 80 year old woman singing about her tendencies to run away. im not convinced taylor is singing from a place she understands enough about. my least favorite line in the album goes to “the tennis court was covered up with some tent-like thing”. tent like thing? lol ok. although i will say one of my favorite lines is “forever is the sweetest con”, but that gem cannot save this song.

dorothea - this is the worst version of seven from folklore. its about ten times less interesting, very bare bones, hardly any story or background information. i dont particularly like the name dorothea. giving me major grandma vibes, these last three songs are major grandma vibes.

Okay, final thoughts on House of the Dragon, Season One:

Pros:

Time Jumps: I think the time jumps were handled beautifully, tbh. Reintroducing the characters in episode 6 by treating it as a second pilot was a *great* idea and it paid off very well imo. I understand some people are put off by the time jumps, however, without the time jumps it'll take us 4 seasons to get to the *actual war lol.

I understand that some people may find it hard to keep up with all the characters being introduced, but then again, a fantasy series is always going to have extra lore/history that you have to know in order to fully understand/appreciate the work. You can't just watch something like GOT, LOTR, or even Harry Potter and expect to know everything from the movies/tv show alone. You gotta do the homework. It sucks, but thats why these types of series are so big. Theyre entire worlds.

Opening Theme: Keeping the main theme, but changing the map to the Targaryen bloodline was another great idea. No other opening theme was gonna top the original, so you might as well own it. Plus, its fascinating seeing the more children born, the more bloodlines that are drawn, hinting how its all gonna spill soon. Also side note: the soundtrack *slaps*. Once again, Ramin proves himself to be a fantastic composer.

The Acting: Everyone in the cast is amazing. Everyone, from the younger cast to their older counterparts. Special shoutouts to Paddy and Matt for doing wonderful. I really want to see Emmy noms for them. I thought Emma did fantasic as well, and i cant wait to see what she does throughout the rest of her series. Episode 10 was really her moment, and she took full advantage of that.

Some characters are done really well!

I point specifically to Viserys, Daemon, and Aemond. And I think thats because those are the characters in which the writers really embrace their moral ambiguity. Theyre not entirely good, their not entirely bad. Their complicated. Which brings me to...

Cons:

Inconsistency with the main characters (and their relationships)

Now, it seems like what the writers are trying to do is make the Civil War seem very messy and complicated 'cause there is no *right* side, so to speak. Shit happens, and violence breaks out because of it. However, in order to do this, it seems like they rely to much on the good side of the main characters, with the people around them being the ones prompting them to do the bad shit.

Alicent: I see this the most with her. They write her as a nice, honorable, and dutiful lady during her younger years, showing how she's *trying to patch things up with Rhaenyra, and she honestly sees her as the future Queen up until Viserys' death. Its implied that Otto is the main bad influence on Alicent, that he's the one pushing to usurp the throne, not her...The only problem with that is its inconsistent for when we see Alicent's Karen-like behavior in episode 6, cause Otto isnt there. The dude got banished, remember? If the main characters only do the bad things when the men prompt them to, then what about the times when they have to be bad and the men arent there?

Rhaenyra: The writers really painted her as the heroine of the season. The one who was done wrong, and dont get me wrong, she was. But also, I feel that the writers missed out on a good opportunity to point out how Rhaenyra's rebelliousness is the cause of her downfall.

Really, the only time we see this come to play is with her sons and the argument of their parentage. But that rebelliousness is always painted as a "good" thing, cause her and Laenor arent in love. They paint Rhaenyra's rebelliousness as a good thing as well when she expresses her sexuality... But what about when that becomes a bad thing? Like, when she's taking advantage of her very honorable knight?

The writers played into the idea that Criston Cole was just bitter Rhaenyra didnt run away with him, but thats not what I got when I first saw the scene? When Rhaenyra sleeps with Criston in episode 4, we see him ask her quietly to "stop". She doesnt. Rhaenyra is the Princess and Future Queen, and she's gonna take what she wants, and because of her station, Criston has no choice but to comply.

This causes the honorable Criston Cole to feel such intense shame and guilt over the act, that he convinces himself its out of love just to give himself a sense of peace. Only when he finds out it wasnt out of love but just for a bit of "fun", he's absolutely shattered. And thats what causes Criston to switch sides. Not that he's "bitter" Rhaenyra didnt love him, but that she took advantage, made him break his vow, something he cherished, all for a bit of fun. Thats what makes his character growth more interesting and realistic imo. To play him as just a rejected douchebag only works when he was a horny, misogynistic douchebag to begin with and he wasnt. He was portrayed as honorable at first. Decent.

Rhaenys: Look, the dragon moment is episode 9 was cool, but Rhaenys not killing the greens at the moment did not make sense. I understand later she says "It's not my war to start" I can get behind that, except that in the writers commentary in episode 9 they go against that by saying its because shes a mother and just "didnt wanna kill another mother" ... Like, please be consistent with your motives...

And even then, its like... you can argue the Rhaenys still hasnt picked a side in the war yet, but didnt she already do that when she let her granddaughters get engaged to the Strong Boys? And she did this in front of the King, so shes not just gonna go back on it. Thats not her. And If the greens are coming after the Strong Boys, then by extension, theyre coming after her granddaughters, so... why not just kill them? Idk...

So... in conclusion, embrace the bad side of the female characters! Quit trying to place them as the good guys, with the men around them being the "real" influence. Let the ladies be the bad guys too!

And in case anybody is thinking, has HOTD passed GOT?

I dont think its right to answer that yet. I dont think its fair to compare the two when we only have one season so far. Remember, seasons 1-4 of GOT were considered the *best* of television when it first came out... and then look what happened. I think its best to hold out until we get to the end.

Weird question but do you recommend a chrome book for like studying and work like that bc I’ve heard they can be slow

Hey, not weird at all! I just got mine mid March, but I haven’t noticed it being slow at all! My laptop completely died on me during midterm season and I had a ton of papers and online exams to do, so my plan was to just use this in the meantime and return it to best buy as soon as my work was done and then I could buy an actual laptop. I obviously decided to keep it. I would recommend using a Chromebook for schooling, but only if it’s not going to be your primary device at home like it is mine (if you spend a ton of time on it, anyway)

First off, before I go into pros and cons (no false sense of hope here… under the cut I’ll tell you everything I love about it and everything I hate or get annoyed at), I should mention I’m using the Samsung Chromebook Plus

All in all, I LOVE my chromebook. It’s got its flaws, but most of them have easy fixes. I hope this full length article helps you decide what to do! If your main concern is getting you through school/work, I say go for it!

8/10 would recommend! I’d love to say 10/10, but there are enough flaws that I can’t in good conscience tell you to go get yourself a chromebook knowing it does some real stupid stuff.

Pros:

lightweight - seriously, I spent all day on campus carrying my Dell around in my bookbag and I’ve never been one to have back problems but carrying it around all day hurt. Sometimes I’d literally just abandon my bookbag (with my laptop in it) in the hall in one of the academic buildings while I went to find something to eat all the way across campus. Like, seriously. According to google the UCF campus is 1415 acres. I don’t even feel weight from my Chromebook while I’m walking campus with it in my bag.

Convenience - It’s essentially half laptop, half tablet. You’re getting the best of both worlds. Google play store (so you can play games and use the device as an e-reader) but you also get the internet at full capacity rather than the dullness of a mobile browser.

Stylus apps - This stylus was a lifesaver for me last semester. I had college algebra last semester, and with math I’m always wasting a ton of paper, so I bought a whiteboard I could carry around with me but it took up too much space at the desks in classrooms. With a Chromebook, Google Keep (note taking app) is built in. when I didn’t feel like wasting space (and dropping my calculator, pen, eraser, markers, board) I could just pull up my stylus apps on half my screen and my math modules on the other half.

Also, have you seen my newer editing attempts? Working with just my finger on this device was already pretty good, compared to on my phone. But using the stylus helped me to get a clearer view of everything I was erasing and more wiggle control

Quick boot up time - In the manual, it claims that the chromebook boots up in 10 seconds. I’ve found that it takes about half that time to start up

2 in one - it does have 360 mode, so you don’t have to use it as a laptop all the time. In tablet mode, you get all the essential uses you get in laptop mode (except the ability to split the screen) plus you can use emojis on the touchscreen keyboard that pops up

Apple Music - On my samsung tablet, I can’t access apple music (the app shows up, but I can’t download it). On chromebook, I can. No itunes though, which is a bummer, but I don’t really need it.

Easy streaming - Watching Netflix/Hulu is such a breeze. I haven’t experienced any buffering issues like i constantly did with my last laptop

Amazing touchscreen - With my Dell laptop (which, again, gave out on me) my touch screen often had meltdowns or prevented my touchpad from working. Seeing as how Samsung has essential experience in touchscreen development, I’m not shocked that I’ve never had an issue with this touchscreen

Have trouble remembering urls? no more - Built into the computer, you have what appear to be google (and other brand) apps, but they’re actually shortcuts that take you directly to their respectful websites. Google drive (which is also built in through the files app), Lookout, Google Maps, Weather Channel, etc. I don’t use them, but it’s such a great gesture.

Memory - I use a lot of space and I haven’t even begun to run out yet! There’s also a slot for external memory (an SD card like what you’d insert into your phone something I wish Apple would do instead of making me pay for more storage every month. Unfortunately for me, this doesn’t work for apps. It’s only so that you have another storage method for your files. After my previous laptop died I lost all my running club pics, so with this chromebook, I have the option to just go ahead and save them directly to my SD card so that doesn’t happen again. It’s kind of like using a flash drive for safe keeping except, ya know, it’s not a flash drive replacement.

It’s made to fit YOU - If you don’t want someone to get into your files, they can’t. You sign in with your google account, but you CAN create additional user accounts (which includes a guest account)

Resetting the computer is easy! - You can’t go wrong. Your options are

Virus control - While there’s no harm in buying yourself an antivirus program, you don’t necessarily need it with Chromebook because google’s actively fighting off viruses for you. I started out using antivirus programs before I realized I didn’t need it. I haven’t had any issues at all with the security of my computer, with or without any kind of protection

Cons

Limited keys - You have to make sure you remember key combinations to perform certain tasks. For example, at first I thought I couldn’t get caps lock on this computer. To do that, it’s alt+search key. scroll to the top of the page? alt+ctrl+up arrow. screenshot in laptop mode? still can’t remember which symbol matches up with that one.

Ctrl Alt…. What? - You don’t have control alt delete anymore. The task manager apparently can only be accessed through settings, which if your chromebook freaks out on you either wait for it to settle down or shut it down are your only two options. Which brings us to con #3.

Freaking out - Lately I’ve been noticing that if I have too many apps open at once, my chromebook will stop funtioning properly for a couple minutes and it’ll do one of two things

Google Print - It wants to hijack your printer, but I refuse to give google access to store info from my printer. I have my Canon hooked up to my chromebook, but I won’t allow google access to it. They’re basically asking to save the info of everything you print to their servers and your printer will only be available for devices you allow access to your google print account (can’t be set up from chromebook anyway).

USB C ports - Okay admittedly I do like these ports, It serves as the charging port, so you can charge the computer on either side. You can also use it as a normal USB port so long as you find devices with the usb c tip BUT this means you need to buy an adapter if you want to use HDMI or a flash drive/other devices that use usb 2.0/3.0 ports

Speaker location - They’re on the bottom, so as long as you’re not covering them up, your audio should be pretty decent

Google Chrome - What I LOVED about using Chrome on actual laptops was that you could have several different user profiles under the same google email on your browser. I had 2. One for my personal multi fandom tumblr, and the other for my marrish tumblr accounts. That way I could just switch windows to change tumblr accounts. You can’t do that on Chromebook. You’d need to create different accounts for your log in screen… which… is it really worth creating new emails? (says the girl who creates a new email everytime she wants to get a new free trial) Now my only option is to use 3 different devices for different tumblr accounts (I just created a choices safe main blog so I can actually find choices posts without doing a ton of searching, so I need an extra layer now)

Microsoft Office/One Drive - Who’s that? We don’t like her apparently. Seriously. You can’t have microsoft office, because all downloads come from the play store. If you like the mobile version of Word, congrats! This system is a winner for you! If not, you can always use the online version on Outlook’s website if you use that. Don’t even THINK about trying to download the one drive app. Seriously, it doesn’t work on Chromebook. I’ve been trying to sign into it since I first bought this laptop. Only when I looked at the horrible reviews last week did I realize I’d NEVER be able to log into the app.

Also streaming - There’s this god awful sound that sometimes plays when streaming on the CBS website. It usually isn’t there, but I gave up on watching SWAT (sorry shemar and criminal minds, I still love you) because I never know if this’ll be the moment when that screeching will begin. It only happens on the CBS website though (while it’s hooked up to my tv)

Ooh speaking of hooking up to my tv - HDMI sucks. that’s all. I hate the border that surrounds the chromebook’s visual. And if you’re watching videos that already aren’t full screen? Good luck streaming comfortably.

Digital Textbook app used for UCF - Okay so we use Yuzu for digital textbooks at my uni and I can’t figure out how to get the app to let me in. Pretty sure that’s the app’s fault though. You have to sign in through a mobile browser to use the app, but the chromebook uses a full capacity desktop browser so I CANT log into the app. I have to use the online version if I take my chromebook to school with me instead of my actual tablet. So whether or not this is the chromebook’s fault is a bit iffy.

First Pre Con Experience

So I went to my first Con event ever this past weekend. I went with one other person, I’ll be honest I don’t really like them, BUT THAT WASNT GONNA STOP ME FROM KNOCKING THIS OFF THE TEENAGE BUCKET LIST! (The list of things I must do before I graduate highschool/turn 20 whichever comes first) So since it was coming up fast and I live close by, I decided to attend Otakon. Only problem I had no job, no money, and essentially no way to get any. So what do I do? I do what any sensible person does. I GO BACK TO BEING A KID AND START A FUCKING LEMONADE STAND ON MY STREET! AND I WASNT FUCKING AROUND! I was up till like 2 AM FUCKING JUICING LEMONS AT LEAST 3 DAYS A WEEK. shit paid off.

I got the money in time for my ticket and I was able to go. Of course at this point I was like, I don’t wanna wait in some eternity long line, I’m already paying at the door haven’t I suffered enough?! So I make the last minute decision to CAMP OUTSIDE THE BUILDING!!! I have never done anything like this before so I’m like fuck. It’s also my first time cosplaying, cause another semi last minute decision. So I decide to be Keith from Voltron. I do this crappy out of closet cosplay that requires me to where like 3 layers of spandex, a sports bra, some black skinny jeans, a belt, a hand me down ammo pouch, and some shitty sneakers I own that don’t go with the outfit or character at all. I also used my real hair for this cosplay but I didn’t fully commit to butchering my hair into some emo fringe. I’ve made that mistake before. {story for another time}

So me and my aunt head off into the night at about 12 am after I’ve prepared my slapped together outfit and cardboard blade of marmora, which was really the least threatening piece of cardboard I’ve ever seen. So we get there a half hour later and just sort of start walking around. I downloaded voltron season 3 on my Netflix in case I got bored. We had snacks, and warm clothes. I felt prepared. I thought we would be the only ones, or there would be an insane line already. In reality everyone was just hanging out at the Marriot, the hotel the con was at, and people were already in costume. I found out Ebola has an anime persona. She’s adorable. The person cosplaying her had some nice calves. It was cool. We also ran into like some super douchey guys and some really cool ones.

At about 3 am we go get pizza from Wise Guys. Listen ya, I’m a New Yorker and f there is one thing I love it’s food, specifically Pizza. Let me tell you at 3 am we are sitting in this window booth. I have a bottle of orange soda, she has a root beer. And we are sharing a flaming hot fresh, meat lovers pizza. There are 2 of us and we bought the entire fucking pie. The whole thing. My aunt is not a very large woman. She is short and skinny. BUT ILL BE DAMNED IF SHE CANT THROW BACK SONE FOOD WHEN SHE WANTS. anyway, we start getting into serious life talks and some funny jokes and stories. Eventually we finish like 2/3 of this pie. We take the rest back to the car.

It’s going on 4 am and I’m like fuck. I gotta go change into this outfit. Instead of going to the bathroom like a normal person. I change in the car. And it’s not like we have tinted windows or anything nope. So I have to get down to my underwear in this car. In the middle of D.C. At what is going on 5 in the morning. Let me tell you IDGAF WHO SAW ME cause I was too busy yelling at my phone because Keith was being an emo baby and wouldn’t accept his destiny. Needless to say I got some attention.

I’m eventually dressed and I grab my bag and head back towards the building. I get back and apparently this guy approached my aunt as soon as I walked away from her. He was apparently super into feet and was also going to the con. He starts telling her this story about how he just wanted to take a girl back to his room, not to have sex with her, no. Just to rub her feet. And then there’s a point where he like starts making up this story that they know eachother cause the girl he was talking about walked by. He ends this whole encounter by saying “WHO CARES ITS OTAKON” when talking about his foot fetish. I really thought she was just going to take me home after that. Luckily she is super understanding and let me stay. I do my makeup with some help, cause fuck did I need it. We hang out for a few more hours and more people start showing up. Including the person I’m going with. She leaves us at around 7 am and we just hang out until the doors open.

Guys I gotta say, when I saw that line I was SO HAPPY I CAMPED OUT. I was exhausted but damn I knew I would've been pissed had I been anywhere that wasn’t the front of that god damn line.

So let's see it's about half an hour before the challenge is due. Sharky went home as was according to plan. 5-1 no surprises or anything. Immediately Anna slaps us in the face with her dick and we're face to face with a Double Tribal Challenge.

Would've probably done better if it was Sunday instead of Monday but unfortunately work got in the way and there really just isn't much I could do bout that. I'm HOPING we somehow pulled out a win. There's several elements where I'm thinking we probably got last but we also might've lucked out. To be quite honest, I'm not optimistic in the least. But I want to hold out hope that our luck will somehow turn out.

Everyone in this game is so good at challenges so it really takes some crazy stuff to pull things out. I also feel like I might be playing just slightly too relaxed on the social-strategic front, but there also hasn't been much to do other than try to maybe build bonds with people and try to be nice/likable. Most of the time when I'm at tribal the thing I want has tended to be the simplest and easiest thing to do for me.

Anyway, time to start my prayer to hopefully win this challenge and not get dicked by AnnaJane.

I'm kinda having this subtle realization that I'm in this alone. Which sounds obvious but like I don't know. As soon as I found out we lost I had this mindset of "Well just gotta hope the others choose to spare me." but bitch that's my fate I wanna choose what happens to it. So that's what I'm gonna try to do.

WE ARENT GOING TO THE DOUBLE TRIBAL BABY AND FOR THAT IM GRATEFUL. When I initially saw that the challenge was all flash games i was freaking. Im usually not the best at flash games, but i really stepped it up and won my portion of the challenge. I hope and think Jared and Stephen will be fine, so I am hoping we swap after this. If we dont, then it might be crazy if we go back to tribal. Loris wants to blindside Kori but idk if that is the best move for me.

So since we're one of the two tribes going to tribal we're currently in that phase of "fuck what do we do." and I'm gonna be honest its only a matter of who grabs the reins first and usually to see who is okay with said person driving. So I took it upon myself to grab those reins because if everyone's just sitting waiting I feel like my name has a chance of coming up. So instead of sitting and waiting for something that may not even happen, why not try to make something happen. So I threw out Stephen's name to Zach knowing that they have a "history" with the whole idol situation. Zach said he'd be fine with that, then I'm like going to Rhys like "Ok so it wasn't technically a name drop but I have heard Stephen's name" and Rhys was like "oh yeah I get that because he doesn't talk often." so I'm like yeah I'm thinking that too. This has such a high chance of turning around against me but if this does work I'm not gonna be able to do shit for a while without looking like a threat. Also if this does work I'm gonna feel like such a suave bitch, like oooh. Goat? Idk her... I'm gonna be eliminated.

God this fucking sucks. Real Sophie’s Choice moment here picking between Drew and Michael I don’t want to vote either of them out but also I’m not turning on Matt/Alyssa/Bodhi. Drew messaged me last night saying he didn’t want to go like this and it just killed me. I really don’t know what to do

Since we lost the challenge, campaign season has begun on Orfeo. The first 2 people I talked to were Jared and Zach. I suggested Mo as the easy vote since he's isolated original-tribewise and didn't perform well in the challenge, and Jared agreed immediately.

Zach was, in his own words, wishy-washy. I really don't like wishy-washy players at this stage of the game. It makes a bit more sense at merge or at the very beginning but if I'm gonna flip on Jared or Rhys at some point I want somewhere solid to land, Zach, Mo, and Chloe don't appear to be the players I'd want to make that jump with. They don't talk openly about game which makes it difficult to trust them.

Rhys also seemed okay with this plan but he was drunk last night so who knows LMAO. My conversations with Mo and Chloe were essentially meaningless. All I got from them was this deal that they'd tell me if I heard their name and likewise for them. Maybe they have an alternative and don't think they have to talk game with me. I do think I'm gonna try and play it safe for this vote and just push for voting Mo with Jared and Rhys. Hopefully the trust between us stays strong.

So we lost this double tribal. Which low-key is probably good. Because were not gonna be on these tribes forever. So its good to cement some form of alliance from it.

It seems like its either Mo or Stepehen going tonight so that's good. There is pros and cons to both. Mo is from a different tribe and is more social to me. I feel like Mo wont be dis loyal so he would be a great ally. It would also show that I'm willing to work with other people moving forward, opening more doors. However in doing so, I may be closing a door on my old alliance of 5. So yes I am scared.

Right now I’m a bottom on the bottom so I’m gonna have to push it push it real good to flip some votes onto bodhi, I have a pretty good relationship with Alyssa and me and Matt have been in cahoots all game, but this is all stars and if I have to turn on Drew I’m not holding back I am not going home tonight, tomorrow or ever. I just can’t go!

So after I talked to Jared last night I proposed the big alliance idea to Zach without asserting I wanted it. Leaving it up in the air could make him less likely to think I'm pushing it. But if they're genuine then this has A LOT of potential.

so we r at tribal again, love that for us! 3rd one of the season, thus making all OG Cyrena having been to the most tribal councils. I did pretty poorly on the challenge, but as did multiple others its no big deal. I'm pretty shit at winning immunity anyway so its ok.

I feel like i am in a similar position as with last time i played. I'm clearly very weak socially (and admit it, ive been MUCH busier than i thought i was going to be since university has started) and have a tight 3 who all are like pretty close together, and have multiple advantages. So im being very loyal atm. just quieter than i would like. I find some of these ppl v.boring tho and you can tell some are just doing the rounds to keep face so they can't be accused of a bad social game LOL. Sharky also left last round which makes me SO sad UGH. MY ONE TRUE LOVE, KILLED TRAGICALLY BEFORE WE COULD BE REUNITED. Its like romeo and juliet, only with a gay and a straight and the gay got stoned to death by evil people. fucking RUDE.

Not sure how Jack is going to take it because i can't tell their connection together, mainly cause bodhi and I barely have one. and i think that is the issue. Do I want to keep Drew and Michael? Absolutely. Does that mean I'm okay with Bodhi going? Fuck no. Bodhi is loyal to me, Bodhi will not turn on me, Bodhi is not a threat to me. But Bodhi is threatening to Alyssa and Matt and they're my closest allies and they want to keep Drew and Michael and now we're blindsiding Bodhi because tribal lines DON'T FUCKING MATTER. I mean don't get me wrong, fuck tribal lines I'm so game to throw that shit in the fire but like, it's not the best move for me. Hopefully this bodes (bodhis haha punny) for me.

Ok now that I think about it going into a merge with less original numbers is actually good for us so maybe this isn't the worst. Idk I just feel bad I really wanted to work with Bodhi and now I basically have to cut him because it's majority on him either way and my allies don't trust him. Sucks man but it's allstars.

So some new information has come to me today. Chris has been approached by Kori with the idea of forming some kind of Tuatha/Orfeo Alliance. This is sort of what I wanted to do already but the fact that other people are proposing it is just great for me.

This just adds another reason to vote Mo out. He's original Cyrena and could become a part of a resistance to this group once merge hits. I'm personally pulling for this alliance to be made. It just brings me one step closer to the end and unites my major allies (Chris, Mitch, Jared, Kori) under a single flag.

ANNNNNND There's been some drama on the old Orfeo tribe! Mo admitted to me that he's tried to vote me out, but due to the fact that people aren't talking to him, he now thinks the vote has switched to him, which is, hopefully, correct. If Mo had made a proposal like this to me right after we lost the challenge or before, I would've had to think about it, but as it stands, he's one person who has seriously thrown my name out there. I can't let that slide.

So, I devised a plan.

Step 1: Lie

How DARE Mo throw my name out there? I would never do something like that to him! Except I did, to everyone on the tribe, whoops. It's okay though, I lied and said Rhys did it, and I think he believed me.

Step 2: Join the resistance

Mo wants to get Rhys out, great. I'm happy it's not me. But that's a bad and unrealistic idea. SO I told him that in order to get a 3rd person willing to tie with us, we should target Chloe instead, and aim to recruit Jared.

Step 3: Recruitment

Now me and Mo are trying to recruit Jared one hour before tribal council. Except, not really. It's just Mo. I've told Jared about my plan to get Mo's vote off of me and he's in on it. Now, Jared can tell Mo the truth, or lie, and it doesn't really matter. Mo seems to feel too guilty to vote for me at this point. So mission accomplished.

Villains DO have more fun, don't they?

(I'm gonna look like such a dumb jackass if this plan doesn't work whoop, but oh well, I managed to fit one contrived plan into my time on All-Stars, so it's worth it!)

So right now I’m very nervous about this vote because even though people have said I’m safe I know bodhi is voting for me and he might just have an idol so like that’s my worry of getting idolled out lollll but uh I’m pretty worried about tonight so worried I might just throw my vote onto Drew and really protect myself and give me at least a little chance of staying due to an idol but who knows!

I think this is my last day which makes me incredibly sad. I feel like a failure if I’m being honest. There’s a slim chance I’ll stay. I had such a fun time playing.

So I can't use Rhys campaigning against Stephen this round as effectively.

Stephen knows his name was thrown out by Mo, because Mo TOLD him. Then Mo made a pitch to Stephen to work together, and Stephen told Mo that I might vote Chloe.

Long-story-short, it was just a ploy by Stephen to get Mo's vote off of him. I did a lil magic to make Stephen feel secure that I had his best intentions at heart, and I let Mo down easily that he is going home.

Mo was a fighter in this game and I give him all due respect. Now watch him idol me out ugh 16th looks cute on me

YAAASSSSS we woooooooonnn! I'm so happy to be avoiding this double tribal. If I can make merge at least that'd be a dream.

I had a conversation with Bryce and Chris and they don't seem opposed to doing a sort of pagonging of the Cyrenas because we talk with them the least. I'm not sure if that'll actually be an option come merge but if it is that'd definitely help me make it deeper in this game as a majority of my connections are my OG tribe barring Clohie, Chris, Loris, Drew, and Bodhi. Honestly if more OG Cyrena's like Matt, Alyssa, Jack, and Michael found themselves going this premerge I wouldn't complain.

I'm getting real tired of missing this idol system time window like a dolt though, I've no doubt I'm gonna pay for it later. But I also did win my game without idols so it's not like I HAVE to have them. It'd just be nice to shake things up since I did wanna play differently this time.

Should You Buy BitTorrent Token ($BTT) Right Now?

The latest hype in 2019 is by all means BitTorrent Token ($BTT). After selling out on Binance in under 14 seconds the cryptocurrency has seen a tremendous rise since its listing on the Binance exchange. The value more than triple since it’s starting value of roughly 14 satoshis. Currently $BTT is trading at 26 satoshis after reaching an all time high of 37 sats. The biggest question right now is for those that missed the boat is it worth purchasing the token at this time.

Before I go any further I want to reiterate that this article should not be used as financial advice. I’m not a financial adviser and not a master trader, if I knew the right answer I wouldn’t be here writing this article. I will present both the pros and cons of purchasing $BTT at the current price of 26 satoshis and you can decide for yourself what to do.

Let’s start with the Pros:

1. Hype

There is massive hype surrounding $BTT right now. Justin Sun is still busy pumping the token on his twitter account which could mean a further influx of investors in the next few days. There are rumors of major celebrities coming on board including an athlete that was 4 super bowl titles. Here is an example of one of Justin’s recent tweet:

2. Massive Buy Support

Currently it would take roughly 1900 BTC in order to move the price down 20%. While possible, it would be extremely difficult and would require quite a few people dumping the token at a loss.

3. The Market Is Correcting

It’s obvious that the BitTorrent Token market is correcting from its all time high. An inexperienced trader will make decisions based on emotion and most of the time panic sell when a crypto is going down and FOMO buy on the way up. A seasoned trader will usually do the complete opposite, buy when the market is correcting and most people are scared, and sell on the way up trying to catch the top.

4. BitTorrent Token Is a Big Deal

Besides the hype, BitTorrent is responsible for over 22% of internet traffic in the world. $BTT is a big deal and will be supported by the largest network any cryptocurrency has ever laid its hands on. Whether you believe in the hype or not, you can’t argue that the token will have an actual use case on a huge network.

Now that we outlined some pros of potentially getting into a position with $BTT, let’s go over the bad news:

1. Technical Indicators Are Not Looking Good

Looking at the Binance chart, the MA(7) line is just now crossing the MA(25) line. What that means is the short term moving average is crossing below the long term moving average. In technical analysis that signifies more bearish momentum ahead. The two indicators first crossed back at 13 satoshis and the market played along by rising almost 300%.

2. $BTT Is Overvalued

As Moon Overlord mentioned on twitter, Justin bought $BTT for $140 million and the market cap of the token is already overvalued at over $150 million. While that in itself doesn’t define the token’s price, it’s a good gauge to see the potential worth of the cryptocurrency at least in the short term.

3. Massive Resistance

As we mentioned in the pros section, there is massive buy support for the token. The same is true for the resistance, there are massive sell orders already in place on Binance. To put things in perspective, it would take around 1200 BTC for the price to move up to 32 satoshis or 20%. With so many orders in place, moving the market will take a huge amount of volume. Nothing that can’t be achieved with the amount of attention $BTT is currently receiving but something that is definitely worth keeping in mind.

4. We’re Still in a Bear Market

Bitcoin is still suffering from crypto winter. Whether it will come to an end anytime soon is anybody’s guess. However, it’s important to understand that if BTC’s value drops, so does $BTT’s value. While that’s also true for any other cryptocurrency, the overall market sentiment is not helping $BTT in any way.

So there you have it, based on the points mentioned above would you pull the trigger and purchase some $BTT? Personally I’m going to wait on the sidelines and see what unfolds. I do believe that there it’s highly unlikely for $BTT to double in price anytime soon, so the risk of entering into a position outweights the potential reward.

Dec, 2016

/Vietnam for Christmas, starting new job, reuniting Mulya/

Last crazy month in 2016.

Still have some days left in Taiwan with my darlin. The weather there was so good during my time there, not too cold and sunny sometimes.. My Graham made me French toast for our breakfast. We spent a lazy night with pizza and movies, always great time being in my cozy room with Chocopie :). I spent almost time at home while he went to work, like a housewife for cooking and doing laundry haha. I feel my simple happiness with my Graham..

On the Saturday night, we were too lazy to get out of the bed, so we decided to walk to HOP for his show. I love the way he held my hand all the way, as usual. The wind is gently blowing up to my face, my hair and we kept talking, singing.. I met up my lovely friends in HOP, talking and sharing. Always nice time in this cozy bar. When we get back home, he fed me again with pancake and condense milk at midnight.. We had a talk in balcony after that. There was an sentence of him lingered in my mind: ‘You should take a chance of me’. I think at that moment, we were all sobbing little bit :)..

Jenny, Martin, Charles and us made a perfect Pijama and Pizza Sunday. So much food, so much fun and interesting movies together! That last night in Taoyuan, my darling took me to the downtown for a lovely date. I embraced him tightly behind his back when the motorbike was rock and roll on the crowed weekend street. We walked around, passed by the shopping malls, big temple and small alleys.. Just walked around, hand in hand.. And I left the day after that. Alone in the taxi, I know it is much better that I get to the airport alone, I do not want to see my darling being left behind. Again, I could not control my waterfall in the goodbye moment, as always. So much painful, so much..

Back to Singapore, the battle is ready to start.. I moved to new apartment where I will be in next 6 months. I get in my new job from the zero knowledge. It was my big pleasure to get in touch again with some of my network in Singapore, finding out sister Nadine, Dong Phong, Thuc are also working and living here. Spending time with AIESECers here as well. Normal office life 8 hour per day brings me enough tiredness not to think much. But from the bottle of my heart, something is still hollow. I miss my darling, I miss Germany, I miss my dear friends.. Still wonder with many questions why I am here even though I know exactly the answers, gets me in more depressed feelings. Trying to fulfil my weekends by long walks to the centre or staying in Starbuck with dumplings. It takes time, just talks time to adapt with. I have to keep saying and encouraging myself..

Holiday season offers lots of nice parties and relaxing time for the office. I have my first office Christmas party with Earthstream. Fancy buffet together with KTV, some drinks in Clarke Quay pub connected everyone easily and totally broke the ice among all people. I am so lucky to have such nice colleagues!

Clarke Quay – a riverside area turns to be my haunt place. I often go there after work to look at people and have matcha ice cream. I imagined about the date my darling coming, surely I will take him here and get everyone jealous of us haha. I hate all the couples in front of me, stupid envy! My mind takes note all the nice places I wanna visit again with Graham. Cant wait to see Chocopie soon..

I got a call from darling one day saying that he got accident, I could not focus on anything else from that moment, I wish I could take immediate flight back to Taiwan to be with him. Thanks god everything is not much serious and he can be back home after few days in the hospital. All his buddies are so sweet to keep me updated and take care of my Graham. Yes, we never can live alone without our people :)..

My last flights in this year is be back to Vietnam, to visit my family, my prince nephew and my niece princess :). Spending the first night with Rango group with tasty food for Dz con’s birthday and stayed with Rango in her house, we talked and shared more than when we were younger :). Sometimes, only taking with my close friends could help me really be calm and be soothed. I look at my life and people’s life in simple perspectives and naturally stop to compare with people. My friends always teach me meaningful life lessons. Having my love ‘banh mi’ with Ky Tran and milk tea with SL made my days as well..

Then, I got back and spent the rest of time with my family. Just help mommy some small house work and be fed every hour are my best happiness! Mom took me to see the fortune teller. She said a lot, I think I do not believe totally but something somehow, it is also true :).. However, no matter what, I do believe we decide our life and everything can change as long as we are strong enough to strive for our goals. I do my best, I promise myself :).

My niece is so cute and my nephew is so handsome! I wish nothing but good health for my angel babes. I hope they will grow up well and be good people..

Mom hugged me and kissed me in the early morning when I left. Dad saw me off at the airport. My flights were always shaking because of the bad weather. My heart is so sensitive and my mind is fatigued by crazy thoughts. I need to be alright, I need to be ok because I am still full of love for my family, my Chocopie and my dears. It will be alright, it will be ok..

Last day of the year, I met up Thuc for coffee in a rainy day. The questions of earning money and building career still make us confused. I hope one day when we look back, we all get some certain achievement.

Mulya came from Malaysia for her holiday with family in Singapore. We got few chances to hang out, walk around, have coffee, talk, eat lots of food and watch movie together. It always reminisce us about out Wuhan 3 years ago. Times flies freaking fast but never be able to fade our friendship out. I am thankful for all precious people I have encountered in my youth.

The last sentence we spend for us, we know we will see each other soon, with other members in our Wuhan family.

‘Distance means nothing when dear people means so much to me.’
