ok so apparently there’s a rumor from someone who attended pax west that the new dragonhold dlc is going to include darien leaving something behind in pelletine that invokes meridia’s wrath. i tried posting this with the link but it wouldn’t let me so i’m gonna try to reblog and include it. THIS IS JUST A RUMOR so take what i’m about to say with a grain of salt, but if it does turn out to be true...

holy shit. first of all let me say that on the eso website it summarizes dragonhold as helping sai sahan rebuild the dragonguard and eliminating the dragon threat once and for all, so this thing involving darien is either a secondary storyline or is not revealed until the end of the main storyline and it ends up foreshadowing or tying into a future dlc or hopefully chapter.

now here’s obviously several questions. i’ll start with the minor ones and work up towards the very obvious one. but the first question is, how do we find out. does meridia appear to us and demand we go find this thing? does a note or journal appear to us, written by darien, as it’s his favorite way of communicating based on past interactions? does he appear as an apparition, or revealed to be still alive somehow? does he look the same, or has he taken on a new appearance?

my next question deals with this story. do we have the choice of turning in this thing to meridia, if she’s the one that ordered us to find it, or can we turn our back on her like darien did, causing her to become our enemy? i know people on here worried that we would have to fight darien, but based on this and past experiences shows that she doesn’t have that much of a hold on him.

then here’s the really obvious question: what did darien leave behind? the first thing to come to mind is a weapon. dawnbeaker? unlikely, because we used up all its energy saving the crystal heart and it probably won’t appear on nirn for another hundred years. but whatever it is, i’m pretty sure it has the chance of defeating meridia and banishing her back to oblivion if she tries to get out. it seems she has plans on nirn so why else would she get mad if there’s a chance she could be stopped?

again THIS IS A RUMOR. it doesn’t mean this is going to happen for sure, but just let me hope for one second....
