Sebastian, sobbing in Bard’s arms: He call-called my food mid- he called me m-mid! I-I can’t believe he’d do su-such a thi-i-ing..!

Sebard hcs! (Also obviously this isn’t canon at all, it’s just a bit of fun)

Sebastian finds teaching Bard to cook both frustrating and fun. It’s an excuse to be close to him (and therefore tease him), but sometimes he just gets in the way of Seb’s culinary mastery. That or he just tries to blow things up too much (‘No, no, don’t use THAT blowtorch for the crème brûlée!’)

Sebastian can speak multiple languages (demon powers y’know) but Bard can barely speak one. This often leads to, when Seb says something he doesn’t want Bard to hear/when he’s teasing Bard/when he’s struggling telling him it in English, he says it in French or German instead (‘je t’adore, mon petit copain.’ ‘huh? The fuck—’)

Whenever Bard acts a little more fatherly, Seb really likes this… for some reason. He gives the excuse that he just appreciates him taking on responsibility for the younger servants/Ciel, but there might be something more to it…

Their compliments to each other are either incredibly underhanded or really plain/basic. No in between e.g S: ‘You’ve actually made a decent meal for once, well done.’ / B: ‘Wow, you’re NOT acting like you’ve got a stick up your ass today, mister butler.’ or S: ‘You look presentable today’ / B: ‘You’re handsome I guess’

There are certain characteristics about each other they OBSESS over… Bard really likes messing up Seb’s outfit/hair/general appearance, and likes his lashes (which are strangely long for a guy…), and Sebastian quite enjoys helping Bard shave and chastising him for not looking nice enough

After BOA, I like to imagine that the wound Seb had took a while to heal from… maybe because it’s a reaper’s scythe that stabbed him through the stomach, or maybe it’s because he had something else limiting him, but nevertheless he was forced to heal at a slower rate than usual. Bard, experienced with dealing with wounds from war and also the only adult man in the house, went into full healer mode. He was very worried about Seb, and Seb asked Bard to stay by his side while he was recovering (Bard had to drag him back to his room MULTIPLE times because he kept trying to continue his duties even when wounded) - inspired by this post I saw and LOVED

One time Bard saved Seb from getting shot through the head by a sniper and this surprised Seb so much he kinda just laid there for a full 10 seconds (how could HE not sense it before this measly human??)

They’re not really together-together, they don’t like having the labels to define them as Bard still truly loves his family that he lost, and Seb just… doesn’t like labels all that much. They mess around and they’re kind of couple-y occasionally, but would never get married (though Ciel and Finny are basically their adopted children at this point)

I have a lot of less than sfw hcs for these two (I won’t add them to this post but if you want them…)

Well, anon, I'd give anyone credit if they can make that work out for them, but I'm not really feelin' it. I even discussed it with my fellow bardlau shipper @grelleswife, who is also known to be open to plenty of poly ships! But we both agree this one doesn't really sit well. at least for us! 😅

We can see both Sebard and Bardlau happening, but I think where the problem of this threesome comes in is in the attempt at Seblau... which doesn't really work, in my eyes.

Sebastian and Lau will always feel, both in canon and in fanon, like shaky business partners that would ah, likely turn on the other or leave the other if the opportunity arose. Sebastian no doubt respects Lau and Ran Mao and what they can do to other humans, but beyond that I cannot see Sebastian putting up with or growing emotionally close to Lau rgsdjfkg in any capacity... And Lau, even if he is very very good at hiding his true feelings from even the audience, I really feel like he gets a certain kinda vibe from Mr. Butler, and doesn't trust him entirely...(especially after Seb survived that magic trick of Lau STABBING HIM in a box with a dozen swords!)

So sorry Anon!! If you love that idea, by all means go for it! but that ain't my cup o' shipping tea! 🤷

Have you read the series Downstairs Accidents? If not, I think you’d love it. It’s not post-campania, but it has some similarities in the sense that I think it would be right up your alley.

I KNOW YA'LL DON'T SHIP SEBARD BUT PLS JUST HEAR ME OUT! Imagine servants greeting Ciel and Seb post Compania ark. And Seb is just covered in human bites (weird dolls) and has a massive fuck0you wound in the middle of his torso. Like even in canon he was pretty fucked up by that scythe and i headcanon that his body can't do it's usual demon healing magic on that wound. All energy goes in keeping him alive, so his injuries heal at human speed. So when they finally arrive at the manor who else then a army veteran wound treat his wounds. (You can't tell me Seb would allow human doctor look at his weird otherworldly anatomy, especially when you can see his freaking insides...). Imagine how triggering that would be to Bard. His mind would probably be on autopilot until he was finished. And then flashbacks to both war and his family dying. And like he thought of Sebastian as a "superhuman", a constant. Seeing him injured and in need of HIS help is verging on uncanny valley... (Also he saw this dude literally eat bullets. It would be kinda scary to think what was at sea that would fuck up Seb so badly... With human teeth no less.). --- Seb probably hasn't been so close to his own mortality in a long time so the whole experience doesn't sit right with him either... But even more weird is SOMEONE ELSE worrying ABOUT HIM. I like to think that he would be absolutely shit at comforting someone distressed about his wellbeing. Like his whole experience with that is comforting a bratty 12 years old and dealing with Ciel's nightmares. And here is a grown ass man with PTSD. He is so uniquely unprepared to deal with it. He tries his best, which is absolute worst, until Bard just asks him to shut up. And like he is probably not in a right mind either. He failed, he lost the fight, he got injured and then they basically run. And the whole "possibility of dying thing" is not a concept an immortals creature really thought about. He asks Bard to sleep at his room. Totally for Bard's sake. Not because of the latest events or because most demons don't like sleeping alone. Cause in hell that would just make you an easy target to others.

For disability July I do agree with PTSD Bard and Ciel; but I also HC that Sebastian suffered PTSD after BOA. My shipper heart loves to picture him having a panic attack (ofc the demon thinks he's dying) and being found by Bard, who helps him through it.

I have never personally thought of canon Seb as having PTSD (though I did once read an interesting sebard story where he had it from the war in which he fell and became a demon, and it’s how was able to relate to Bard), but I think that could be a cool concept to explore for sure!!

I do think that his fight with UT scarred him in a sense. I think he’d never lost a fight (at least not on earth) and having his ass kicked so badly was eye opening in more than one way…

Hi! So I was wondering if you had a specific story in mind for sebard, or are just longing for more content with those two dorks?

Hello! Thank you for asking this!

I have this long running AU in my head (canon compliant tho), in which Bard steadily falls in love with Sebastian, but has to come to terms with loving a demon. I hc bard to be very Catholic, and while there’s certain things he lets slide and interpret on his own, but loving a demon is really, REALLY testing it considering what he knows of them and what Sebastian basically proves. 

Bard prays at night, he keeps a rosary on his bed stand, so navigating his relationship with Sebastian when they’re really involved is hard. You can’t touch a demon right after you’ve prayed a decade of the Rosary or right after you’ve been to mass. 

On the flip side, Sebastian starts to become more “human” in being with Bard. And straight up he pursued Bard first but was really weird about it. He’ll always be a demon, or so he thinks, but he actually wants to be a demon that Bard likes and appreciates. And since Bard makes change for him, Sebastian tries to make changes where he can. He tries to act normal, to do things normally, but sometimes it fails just due to how Sebastian is. And in general Bard doesn't’ care if he acts like a supernatural being, as long as he’s nice. 

Which brings up the point of Ciel and the very reason why Sebastian is on Earth. 

Long story short, Ciel is their deal breaker. Bard will not remain with Sebastian if he’s going to eat Ciel’s soul so eventually the contract has to end, and Sebastian sticks around eating the souls of actual bad people, not a traumatized child. 

That’s probably the biggest change made by Sebastian. 

And there’s the midpoint in their relationship where Bard finds out that Sebastian is a demon. Queue angst and sadness because Bard, at first, does NOT want to be in a relationship with a demon and is insanely protective of Ciel. 

So in the course of their relationship, Sebastian gets holy water thrown at him a few times and nearly exorcised from the house. But within a couple of months, and Ciel actually advocating on Sebastian’s behalf, all goes well and Sebastian and Bard get together. 

And of course Grell helps. She’s Sebastian's unlikely support system. She’s also his plug for souls when he breaks his contract. 

Sebastian also stays by Bard’s side whenever he can. As ciel gets older, Sebastian tends to him less and lives in the town with bard who eventually ends up moving out of manor. Sebastian also lets himself age just slightly and he starts to look tired. His hair goes from black to brown, and his eyes turn a dark shade of brown as well. 

He’ll always be a demon, but he wants to be Bard’s demon so he just wants to be normal. 

Also naturally Bard has seen Sebastian’s true form, and while he ran the hell away at first, after catching his breath he was able to process it, with sebastians help of course.

Sebastian Michaelis, but make it a DND character.

I’m bored, a nerd, and I had thoughts so yeah.

(Obviously, as I am more of a DM than a player, I’d be tempted to just homebrew a whole Kuro Demon race and make him a classless NPC with handpicked skills that fit his canon skills. But as much as I want to do it, that’s not what this is about.)

Since we have absolutely no Seb backstory whatsoever, we can’t really choose his class based on origin of power (...though I’d definitely go with Druid/Warlock multi-class on that one) and since he uses little to no magic in Kuro, let’s just ignore that for now. We’re creating Sebastian Michaelis, not the eldritch abomination that eats souls.

So let’s figure out his Class, shall we? Now don’t get me wrong, I am a firm believer in Bard!Sebastian, Bardbastian if you will (I would call it The Sebard, but that’s a ship name), but technically, if you played him, this dude would not be so much a demon of many skills but more of a bastard that excels at a few things. Add the ridiculous amount of damage with weapons that truly shouldn’t hurt that much, and you’ve got a Rogue. He’s edgy and he has knives. It’s perfect.

(Just take one second to consider Sebastian’s freaky speed, agility, undeniable parkour skills, ability to return shit like bullets and spears to sender, and he’d also make a good Monk. Make silverware a Monk Weapon and it works. Don’t agree? Doesn’t the dude run faster than a carriage at some point? That’s Step of the Wind, a few turns of taking the Dash Action, and Unarmoured Movement. Monks are absolute beasts.)

Stats-wise, canon Sebastian is a character with extremely high Dexterity and Charisma. His other stats would also be very high, the only one that could be debatable is Wisdom (and maybe Constitution, since he did get wrecked by a Death Scythe and some gas), but I’d say it’s high too.

But that’s OP so... to make him a playable character that doesn’t make DMs create encounters of 20 black dragons, only keep his DEX and CHA high, and the rest of his Stats are whatever you want them to be.

As for Skills, he’s definitely Proficient in Deception (you could make it Persuasion, depending on how you view it, since he technically does not lie?? I mean he kinda does??? But he doesn’t????) and Acrobatics. Everything else technically works. (I’m unsure about Insight, History and Perception, because of the whole “omg Undertaker is wHAT??? such a plot twist that nobody figured out ages ago!!!!” thing.)

(P.S.: If you make the butler a Rogue and pick Arcane Trickster as a subclass, do give him Tasha’s Hideous Laughter as a spell.)

Dunno if we’re allowed to send multiple asks for the follower celebration thing, but I was wondering— what was your inspiration for “Heart of the Sea”? (The pairing, the setting, etc.)

You most certainly are, darling. Ask away to your heart's content. 😊 The only restriction is the number of drabbles I can do, as it takes a while for me to finish those.

As far as my inspiration for this fic, it was a culmination of a few things.

I had been reading a siren!Sebastian/Claudia Phantomhive RP @rxseandscythe and @rotcon had posted on here. This is what initially got my two brain cells volleying this idea around, though at the time it was going to be a reader insert one shot. An AU where Sebastian is a breathtakingly handsome mythological creature who lures unsuspecting humans to their demise is rather fitting to his canon demonic nature. But no matter what scenario I worked up for the one shot idea, I could never find one that worked to my liking. So I tabled it until a more fitting scenario presented itself.

The nature of this pose in media is typically used with the intention of creating sexual tension between two characters. Given Bard’s expression, I'm sure he's doing this to get the butler’s attention because nothing else is working, but it hints at the chemistry these two have (and that it's not just a one-sided seduction on Sebastian’s part).

3. The few delicious Sebard one shots I read as a result of said aforementioned artwork. They continued to open me up to the possibility that a "relationship" of sorts could develop between the two.

4. Posts on here from @amanitus, @luci-on-the-moon, and you, which further spurned my interest in this rare pairing.

5. The fact that I love both these characters. Sebastian is appealing because...well, honestly, he's a pretty complete package. He's got the looks, the charm, and the brains. While Bard reminds me of a "good ol' country boy". Hard working, strong, and intelligent in his own way. Plus, honestly, they're both hot. So sandwich them together and I'm all 🤤

6. I've also never written a m/m fic before. I've always wanted to, but I would always chicken out, mainly because I don't have experience with it and I want to be respectful and accurate with how I render the relationship, especially the sex. But finally I was like "F*ck it, let's do this!" and here we are, lol. 😂

I chose the time period because it's another one I've always enjoyed. Life, in a lot of ways, was simpler. But that simplicity also led to isolation, which is one of the themes I wanted to capture in this short story. I don't think it could've worked as well or easily in a more modern world. Technology and social media probably would narrow Sebastian’s hunting grounds quite a bit and he would be resigned to strictly hunting sailors, naval personnel, and oil rig workers. Plus this is a time period I've never written for before, so I wanted to try my hand at it.

I chose the setting of a lighthouse because, again, it's isolating which continues to fuel Bard’s loneliness, depression, and PTSD. Plus it makes him choice prey for Sebastian. Sirens cannot take on large groups of humans, so they have to lure their prey, single them out, which is much easier to accomplish when they've already isolated themselves. Isolated people are also easier to lure because they crave companionship and see a kindred spirit in the siren. Also, being a lighthouse keeper allows Bard constant and easy access to the sea.

Wow I had saved this post when I first saw it and it got lost in my likes and now I’m coming back and seeing I missed a lot.

I also don’t really ship sebaciel. I understand why people like it, but it just doesn’t do much for me. I vastly prefer other ships like sebard, sebagni, Vindee, Vintaker, etc.

But I think antis are especially silly to try and cut out a major aspect of the canon and the fandom all bc they don’t like the ship (or they dislike it as “not platonic/familial”). It’s very clear Yana ships them, she doesn’t accidentally draw all those “bait-y” moments.

Here's the thing about sebaciel. Do I ship it? No. Do I understand why people ship it? Sure, I guess. Is it like, morally worse that the demon might do the deed with a minor than it is that said demon plans to like, eternally damn said minor to hell? Assuming the implied christian cosmology, definitely not. So like 🤷‍♀️🤷‍♀️ I'm over here on my "they hate each other's guts" agenda like always, watching both dadbastian and sebaciel fandoms like 👀🍿

@creoleprincess Sorry for the late response! But I did see your comment on my Kuro fics, and I wanted to say thanks :) Your support really means a lot, and I’m happy you enjoyed my writing!

Now, as for that particular fic you’re waiting on:

I’m afraid I won’t be updating any time soon, as in, indefinitely. Canon has a lot to do with it- the current Sebastian and Ciel aren’t the same Sebastian and Ciel I fell in love with. And I really can’t muster the motivation to write for them atm; I don’t have the motivation to write for Kuro at all right now (unless it’s for the minor characters or a ship like sebard) because I’m so disappointed with them.

To be perfectly honest, the only thing that could possibly make me pick up Blood Sport right now is if someone came in there and left a 10K essay review on why they want to see it continued XD 

I really do appreciate every show of support, no matter how big or small, but it’s been a while since anyone’s expressed interest in it, and when even I’m not interested, I can’t bring myself to write on. And for the moment, I’m devoting most of my fic time to a WIP for another fandom, for characters I honestly love more than Sebastian and Ciel.

That being said, I might have lost the outline for Blood Sport to the sands of time, but I remember it pretty clearly. So if you’re still curious to know how the rest of the story goes, just hit me up, and I’ll summarize/explain everything you want to know in detail, including all 3 arcs it was supposed to have :)
